The recent victory of Donald Trump at the national polls ushered in “morning in America” as much as it indicated a repudiation of wokeness. His vow to dismantle the Department of Education offers the US an enviable opportunity and appointing the media tycoon Linda McMahon indicates a welcome, business-minded (read: meritocracy-based) approach. To effectively revamp our schools and the specific ways we invest in, approach, and even define education, depends on some hard truths and our willingness to confront them.
Americans have spoken by refuting the Division, Exclusion, and Inequality movement taking over our culture and our schools. Parents rejected the leftist push for gender ideology, critical race theory, and pornography in our schools to support girls-only locker rooms and their hard-won Title IX sports.
Yet the war is far from won and success in this battle only slows the advance. To preserve our traditional values, we must examine how we arrived where we are today, fighting culture conflict within our own families. While President-elect Trump addresses education on the federal level, our communities must tackle these issues locally at the same time. We can celebrate our public victories against Bud Light and Target, but if the battles for the hearts and minds of our young people continue inside our schools, we may snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
According to <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2017/02/15/u-s-students-internationally-math-science/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pew Research</a>, the U.S. ranked an <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/on-the-world-stage-us-students-fall-behind/2016/12/05/610e1e10-b740-11e6-a677-b608fbb3aaf6_story.html?utm_term=.e99466bb5b12" target="_blank" rel="noopener">unimpressive 38th</a> out of 71 countries in math and 24th in science on the most recent international academic achievement studies survey taken in 2015. We currently spend more per student than almost any other country to achieve those discouraging results. Why are we fighting to preserve such a spectacularly failing institution while the world sprints past us? Because school is good. That’s the resounding mantra we all ingested.
Schools are where we all learned to trust the experts, especially the educators, so it’s nearly impossible to repudiate the efficacy or validity of our &#8220;factory schools&#8221; and teachers. Despite our reluctance, analysis of the problem demands transparency and candor.
First, for decades, schools have coached pupils (us) to believe that their highest goal is college prep and career readiness (read: money). Where decades ago we believed in entrepreneurship, integrity and independent innovation, now culture holds that the only way to the money is the institutional road. It’s no wonder parents would sacrifice their children on the school’s altar! Save the schools or my child will not succeed! As parents see the blatant lies in our schools, the pornography, the abject ignorance, and the abysmal academic performance, belief in that ultimate fiction has recently (finally) been unseated, and we can (and should) criticize our schools.
The Marxist principles of the teachers’ unions directly contradict traditional American values, but with their market stranglehold they can afford to ignore our condemnation. Inflicting their evil dogma on impressionable minds is their second incentive to preserve their institutions. We are now in a race to see who converts the culture first. If we, however, continue submitting our children to their indoctrination, we will soon reach the tipping point where our own offspring will vote down the Second Amendment and for a surveillance state. And while laws may countermand the Marxist mantra, many ideological teachers don’t heed the law.
Enter the school choice debate. On the surface, government funds following the child makes sense. The parents can vote with their feet and their dollars. But financial infusions typically inflate costs, negating the value of injected money. Further, government intrusion disrupts honest brokerage: in the case of education, it will oust any educational endeavors unwilling to subject themselves to government scrutiny – which would be the only authentic players in the game. Universal school choice (read: single-payer education) would kill innovation, putting us right back to where we are now.

The future is uncertain, and foundational transformation is the only way to prosper. That’s why Trump has floated tax credits for families with school-aged children. This might afford them more flexibility to raise and educate their children without the strings of government forcing its ideas on them.
The most radical idea in education is reverting to first principles — training the student to teach himself. This is how education used to work, before we began our modern &#8220;factory school&#8221; experiment. It is how the founders – those geniuses who devised our representational republic that so few of our citizens currently acknowledge – became educated.
The education revolution begins with the recognition that it doesn’t take an “expert” to train a child to be an adult; parents should do that.
Parents want a better route forward for their families and their children’s futures, and home education offers that pathway. Most parents are smart enough to be their child&#8217;s teacher. Indeed, the parent’s level of schooling is not reflective of academic outcome for the homeschooled child. Ultimately, all wisdom is self-taught and children need wisdom more than they need to drill math facts, memorize dates, or learn about lubrication.
Many parents still feel enslaved to the system, brainwashed to conform by its past self-proclaimed glory. The new learning model, however, is independent of what any woke “educators” recommend, and for good reason. Independent-minded parents choose home education instead, to foster in their children a devotion to truth, appreciation for wisdom, and the love of freedom.

He said the reason he decided to do a kids’ book rather than one geared towards an older group is that kids today need to hear the message &#8220;let boys be boys and let girls be girls.&#8221;
&#8220;Look what we are doing to kids today from our public education system, through television and movies, this whole thing about toxic masculinity,&#8221; the &#8220;Hercules&#8221; star told us. &#8220;For decades now we have been trying to make men more feminine and we&#8217;re trying to make women more masculine.&#8221;

&#8220;We need our boys to become strong men who can lead their families, communities, in a more positive direction,&#8221; he added. &#8220;The Bible calls for us [men] to be providers. For men to be providers and that takes nothing away from women.”
The &#8220;Andromeda&#8221; star said it&#8217;s clear the &#8220;family unit is under attack,&#8221; especially fatherhood, not just in entertainment, but in every aspect of our lives.
&#8220;The Bible teaches us to honor the father, sitcoms teach us to dishonor the father,&#8221; he added. &#8220;For a confused generation of men, which we have now, it&#8217;s much easier for public schools, universities, TV, movies, government, to control that.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s a total opposite of a generation of men that are seeking the truth,&#8221; Sorbo continued. &#8220;Which is why I think they reject people like me who stand up for Conservative values and christian values.&#8221;
However, the superstar said he does see a sign of hope that people are getting tired of the woke agenda coming out of Hollywood, noting the success of the independent film &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/actor-jim-caviezel-sends-message-to-fans-as-sound-of-freedom-surpasses-150-million-mark" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sound of Freedom</a>,&#8221; which did better at the domestic box office than Disney&#8217;s latest &#8220;Indiana Jones&#8221; movie.
&#8220;I think people are getting sick of the crap Hollywood&#8217;s doing,&#8221; Sorbo said. &#8220;Case in point Hollywood, Hollywood&#8217;s about to be on its way to lose well over one billion dollars in theaters this year.&#8221;
&#8220;What does that show you,&#8221; he added. &#8220;It shows you people are sick of this woke stuff &#8230; People are tired of the woke stuff from Hollywood and they are tired of the woke message.&#8221;
The actor, who has a new movie coming out of his Sorbo Studios in October called &#8220;Miracle In East Texas,&#8221; admitted &#8220;we got a culture battle on our hands. Hollywood&#8217;s winning it, but tied is turning. People are sick of it and the lions out there are waking up.&#8221;

&#8220;And I almost had to laugh at that because it&#8217;s an industry that screams for tolerance, and yet it&#8217;s a one-way street,&#8221; he added. &#8220;It screams for freedom of speech. But Hollywood&#8217;s a one-way street as well. And that&#8217;s just too bad, you know. But I love the industry. I love the movies and TV.&#8221;

Kevin&#8217;s wife, Sam Sorbo, told the outlet that her husband was even kicked off LinkedIn and Facebook for his beliefs.
&#8220;Even LinkedIn took me down,&#8221; Sorbo said with a laugh. &#8220;They don&#8217;t like the truth. I say on [X, formerly Twitter], I said, &#8216;I need more conspiracy theories because all of mine came true.&#8217; But did Facebook apologize for taking me down even though I was right? No, because they don&#8217;t like the truth. The truth is too difficult for some people to take.&#8221;
The comments came as Sorbo and his wife promoted their upcoming movie &#8220;<a href="https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8531464/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_2_tt_8_nm_0_q_Miracle%2520In%2520" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Miracle in East Texas</a>,&#8221; coming out of the couple&#8217;s <a href="https://www.sorbostudios.com/miracle-in-east-texas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sorbo Studios</a> in October. Actor Kevin Sorbo said the Left has lost the argument for gun control after President Joe Biden &#8220;willingly freed&#8221; an &#8220;incredibly dangerous arms dealer&#8221; through the prisoner swap for WNBA star Brittney Griner.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-sorbo">64-year-old actor</a> reacted Friday on <a href="https://twitter.com/ksorbs/status/1601250155084513280?s=20&amp;t=_LGGa8nLqfkJe5WAfojQPA">Twitter</a> to the news of Biden releasing notorious Russian weapons dealer Viktor Bout, known as the &#8220;Merchant of Death,&#8221; in exchange for Griner&#8217;s freedom after she was arrested on drug charges in February.
&#8220;I don&#8217;t want to hear anything about gun control from the left after they willingly freed an incredibly dangerous arms dealer,&#8221; Sorbo tweeted to his 1.4 million followers.

Sorbo, best known for his role as <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hercules:_The_Legendary_Journeys">Hercules</a>, is openly conservative, which has negatively affected his <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/za/podcast/the-daily-wire-takes-on-woke-hollywood/id1047335260?i=1000551680066" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hollywood</a> career.

And in July 2021, Sorbo spoke to Fox Business about the anti-American rhetoric coming out of Hollywood with regard to a Marvel Comics mini-series that promotes the idea that the American Dream can become the “American lie,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-levels-of-insanity-actor-kevin-sorbo-slams-new-woke-captain-america-comic" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> reported.
“We keep reaching new levels of insanity,” Sorbo said. “It’s obvious America is a great country. This is just another example of lies from the Left.”
“Walt Disney said back in the 1950s … movies and television will influence our youth,” he continued. “Look at what’s going on in the streets across America today, especially in all the blue states and the blue cities, and all the anger and hate and violence going on out there.”
“I think people that really think this is a horrible country really should go spend a year in other countries where they think their utopia is and find out what socialism and communism truly is all about,” Sorbo added.

Superstar Kevin Sorbo challenged critics who are posting on social media that &#8220;old white men can&#8217;t decide what women&#8221; can do with their bodies when he posted a historic throwback shot of the justices who originally decided Roe V. Wade in 1973.
The 63-year-old TV star gave celebrities upset about the United States Supreme Court decision to overturn the landmark abortion ruling, as a result of the decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women&#8217;s Health Organization, a history lesson by posting a photo of the SCOTUS justices in 1973 who originally weighed in on exactly what women can and can&#8217;t do with their bodies, pointing out the hypocrisy of their argument.
&#8220;So, old white men can&#8217;t decide what women do with their bodies but this is who passed Roe V Wade …&#8221; the &#8220;Andromeda&#8221; star <a href="https://twitter.com/ksorbs/status/1541483936542605319?s=20&amp;t=d98tmpKBPngCFQi0pq7izg">tweeted</a> Monday to his million plus followers.
The actor&#8217;s post included a black and white photo of the then-justices of the United States Supreme Court, showing Justice Warren E. Burger along with Justice William O. Douglas, Justice William J. Brennan Jr., Justice Potter Stewart, Justice Byron White, Justice Thurgood Marshall, Justice Harry Blackmun, Justice Lewis F. Powell Jr., and Justice William Rehnquist. The photo can be seen below.
Marshall, who is also pictured, is the first African American Justice to the court.
