The 2024 Democratic National Convention will look more like a typical Hollywood awards show than a political event when things kick off this week in Chicago. 
Convention organizers have confirmed to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/18/entertainment/kerry-washington-mindy-kaling-dnc-hosts/index.html">CNN</a> that a different celebrity will kick off each of the four nights at the DNC, where the featured star will give remarks and reappear on stage throughout the evening, starting on Monday night with “Scandal” star Tony Goldwyn.
Tuesday night, CNN contributor and host of “The View” Ana Navarro will emcee the evening. Wednesday night TV star Mindy Kaling will host followed by actress Kerry Washington on Thursday, who will emcee the evening on the same night that Vice President Kamala Harris will officially accept the Democratic party’s nomination.
And they will not be the only ones, as dozens of Hollywood stars flock to the Windy City for events and concerts planned around the DNC, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dozens-of-hollywood-stars-flocking-to-chicago-for-dnc">reported</a>.
John Legend, an outspoken supporter of the Democratic Party and past contenders for the White House, will hold a concert for Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/politics-news/democratic-national-convention-chicago-celebrities-hollywood-stars-1235974542/">Hollywood Reporter</a> noted.

Comedy Central’s “<a href="https://1iota.com/show/1737/the-daily-show-in-chicago">The Daily Show</a>” will have Jon Stewart and its “all-star news team” on hand during the week to film the show, with Stewart hosting a live show on Thursday night, 
Late-night host Stephen Colbert is taking his show on the road for the first time with guest appearances that include Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and Chance the Rapper, among others <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/hillary-clinton-nancy-pelosi-stephen-colbert-late-show-live-dnc-2024-1235977097/">THR</a> noted.
Singer Joan Jet, actress Octavia Spencer, Billy Porter, DJ-D Nice, and Lil Jon, along with several stars of the reality series “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” are also named as being at the convention. The advocacy group The Creative Coalition has confirmed that it booked stars like Uma Thurman, Uzo Aduba, Busy Phillips, Jon Cryer, David Cross, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and more for a series of events during the week.
Connie Britton is also expected to make the trip, THR noted. Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Murphy are expected at the convention, too, with a source telling THR that Don Cheadle may be there as well.
There is even supposed to be a Hollywood premiere-style look at the DNC with a “blue” carpet for the arrival of the bigger-named attendees, <a href="https://deadline.com/2024/08/democratic-national-convention-red-carpet-snapchat-matt-friend-1236040464/">Deadline</a> reported.
At the time of this publication, Thurman’s rep said the actress won’t be there due to work commitments and Ralph will not be there until Thursday night, THR noted.
“Veep” star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/julia-louis-dreyfus">Julia Louis-Dreyfus</a> will host a panel with female Democratic governors from across the country at the convention, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/veep-star-to-host-panel-with-governors-at-dnc">reported</a>.
The convention being a star-studded event comes as sources with direct knowledge of the Harris campaign reportedly have said that she didn’t want the convention to look like a “Hollywood liberal elite” event, <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2024/08/10/kamala-harris-limit-celebrity-involvement/">TMZ</a> noted.
The DNC runs from Monday, Aug. 19-Thursday, Aug. 22.

Actress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kerry-washington" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kerry Washington</a> recently discussed her reaction to finding out that the man who raised her was not her biological <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/father" target="_blank" rel="noopener">father</a>, but she was conceived via sperm donation instead.
The “Scandal” star revealed how she learned the truth while promoting her new memoir, “Thicker Than Water.” 
Washington told the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/24/books/kerry-washington-memoir-thicker-than-water.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Times</a> that she realized there could be an issue with her background when she asked her parents for DNA samples in 2018 when she was going to be featured on the PBS show, “Finding Your Roots.” She said that&#8217;s when her parents started acting strangely. 
“I said: ‘I just don’t think they’re going to agree to it. My dad’s really uncomfortable,&#8217;” she told the outlet. 
“I’ve always had this weird disconnect with my dad, but I thought that was my fault. I thought I wasn’t a kind enough person. But the idea that I was not his never occurred to me. It was just, why can’t I be better to him? Why can’t we be closer? What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with us?” the 46-year-old said. 
Ultimately, her parents shared the secret they kept from her for more than forty years.
“I immediately felt guilty because I could see how much pain my parents were in, my dad in particular,” she added.
Washington revealed that her mother planned to tell her the truth about being conceived via sperm donation by leaving a note in a safe deposit. 
“I was birthed into a lie. I was playing a supporting character in my parents’ story,” she told NYT. “I know that their intention was to protect me, to love me, to take care of me, to keep my world simple. I get many years of not telling me, but I’ve been an adult for over two decades.”

Washington further discussed her feelings during an interview with <a href="https://people.com/kerry-washington-on-discovering-dad-is-not-biological-father-memoir-7972576" target="_blank" rel="noopener">People</a>, saying, &#8220;It really turned my world upside down.”
&#8220;When I got this information, I was like, &#8216;Oh. I now know my story,'&#8221; the actress added, saying she felt relieved to finally know the truth. &#8220;This is really kind of me working to understand my life up until now, given this new information that I have that, in many ways, felt like sort of the missing puzzle piece,&#8221; she said.
While Washington said her parents were “not thrilled” about her sharing the information publicly, she said it ultimately made them closer.
&#8220;I really started to have so much more love and compassion and understanding for my parents,&#8221; Washington told People. &#8220;Taking this deep dive into our family history made me put myself in their shoes and think about the things that they&#8217;ve had to navigate and what they&#8217;ve been through and what they&#8217;ve sacrificed. And it really made me feel closer to them.&#8221;

In a tweet on Monday, Kerry Washington urged her 5.5 million followers to reach out to Sens. Tim Scott (R-SC), Kyrsten Sinema (R-AZ), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Rob Portman (R-OH) and demand they vote &#8220;Yes&#8221; in favor of the &#8220;For the People Act.&#8221;

Despite the Left’s insistence that election integrity laws, such as the one enacted in Georgia, discriminate against minorities, the evidence says otherwise. In fact, some of the proposed requirements, like the voter ID requirement, have majority support among black voters, per reports.
“Nearly 70% of black people living in America support laws that require prospective voters to provide an ID, such as a driver’s license, before being allowed to cast their ballot,” reported <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/if-voter-id-laws-are-so-racist-why-do-70-of-black-people-support-them">The Daily Wire</a>. “It turns out that the vast majority of black people in America — the very individuals Joe Biden assures us are victims of racism under voter ID laws — think it’s perfectly reasonable to require some form of proof that you are who you say you are before voting.”
Kerry Washington&#8217;s tweet came on the same day that actress Jennifer Lawrence released a PSA scolding Republicans for passing voter integrity laws in states like Texas and Georgia.
“Whatever your personal politics are, whatever side of the aisle you find yourself on, you need to know that your vote matters and the outcome of our elections are not maneuvered and manipulated,” <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnB34NSY4W0&amp;t=3s" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">she said in the PSA</a>. “In Texas, Georgia and Florida, and 44 other states, there’s a radical wing of the Republican Party that is actively dismantling America’s right to vote because they don’t have the numbers to win otherwise.”
“Without Gerrymandering or shutting down hundreds of voting facilities within reach of minorities, and specifically targeting and carving out people of color, they can’t win. But this is cheating and it is not democracy,” she added.
Lawrence then touted the “For the People Act” as a law that will protect democracy and stop billionaires from stealing elections.
“There’s a law in the Senate right now called the For the People Act and it can reverse these anti-voting laws and it can stop billionaires from being able to buy our elections,” she says. ” It even says that all voting machines need to be made here in the U.S. But it’s going to take a lot of pressure from us to get it to pass.”
“Let the politicians bicker and throw tantrums, let’s just make sure they remember who they work for,” she concluded.

Scandal star Kerry Washington is set to <a href="http://thegrapevine.theroot.com/kerry-washington-set-to-produce-the-mothers-based-on-t-1793198213?utm_source=theroot_twitter&amp;utm_medium=socialflow">produce </a>a new abortion-centered flick: an adaptation of The New York Times best-selling book <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Mothers-Novel-Brit-Bennett/dp/0399184511">The Mothers</a>, written by Brit Bennett and released last October. 
The novel takes an &#8220;unflinching look at abortion, the black church, love and friendship through the years,&#8221; according to The Root.
The story focuses on a 17-year-old protagonist named Nadia who aborts her child after becoming pregnant from a relationship with a pastor&#8217;s son named Luke; she quickly leaves for the University of Michigan post-abortion. &#8220;Years pass, and Nadia&#8217;s friend Aubrey, a committed Christian, begins dating and eventually marries Luke, living a version of the life that Nadia ran from,&#8221; explains The New York Times. &#8220;Nadia&#8217;s story is framed by the recurring chorus-like voice of &#8216;the mothers,&#8217; the gossipy elder women of the church who serve as her hometown&#8217;s eagle-eyed morality police.&#8221;
Bennett has reportedly been tapped to write the script for the film adaptation.
It comes as no surprise that Washington would take on the abortion cause. The actress is a vocal supporter of abortion and Planned Parenthood, America&#8217;s largest abortion mill, responsible for well over <a href="http://www.lifenews.com/2016/12/12/planned-parenthood-kills-320000-babies-in-abortions-while-prenatal-care-is-down-64-7/">300,000 abortions annually</a>.
In November 2015, Washington starred in a pro-Planned Parenthood episode of Scandal which portrayed her character, Olivia Pope, having an <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/1278/abcs-scandal-goes-full-propaganda-planned-amanda-prestigiacomo">abortion</a> to a Christian hymn about the birth of Christ, &#8220;Silent Night.&#8221;

Hillary, showing full immunity to the fact that scandal is basically a mirror representation of her life, save all the good-looking actors, posed for selfies which were shamelessly shown off via social media.
Abortion activist Kerry Washington, who plays the star character Olivia Pope on the show, solidified her support with the former secretary of state with an #ImWithHer hashtag captioning their selfie together via Instagram.

Last night, the ABC the hit show, &#8220;Scandal,&#8221; did Planned Parenthood&#8217;s dirty work for them. The episode showed the main character, Olivia Pope, played by actress Kerry Washington, undergoing an abortion while the Christian hymn &#8220;Silent Night&#8221; played in the background.

The disturbing scene has triggered heavy conservative backlash: &#8220;The entire hour was an advertisement for Planned Parenthood, but the absolute worst scene was a montage set to the Christmas hymn &#8216;Silent Night,&#8217; a song that celebrates the birth of Christ, while main character Olivia Pope &#8230; has an abortion, killing her and the president&#8217;s baby,&#8221; wrote Newsbusters&#8217; Alexa Moutevelis Coombs after remarking that the episode crossed &#8220;a sickening line.&#8221;

Piling on the shameless acts was the abortion queen that is Planned Parenthood. The organization released a devious and talking-point-oriented <a href="http://www.ew.com/article/2015/11/20/scandal-abortion">statement</a> after the episode aired last night to finalize the propaganda.
 Shonda Rhimes, the show&#8217;s creator, was feted for &#8220;using her platform&#8221; to show that millions of people would &#8220;suffer&#8221; without the organization which specializes in gruesome abortion and the selling of fetal body parts: Planned Parenthood.
After the episode, Planned Parenthood released this statement:
