President Donald Trump said on Tuesday morning that he pushed back on a European leader&#8217;s suggestion to wait one or two months before setting up another meeting to discuss a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia.
In a phone interview with &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends,&#8221; Trump said one of the European leaders he met with at the White House on Monday told him they should set up more peace talks &#8220;in a month or two,&#8221; an idea that the president immediately shot down. Trump did not name the European ally in question, only saying he&#8217;s &#8220;a great gentleman&#8221; whom he did not want to offend.
&#8220;I said, &#8216;A month or two? You&#8217;re going to have another 40,000 people dead in a month or two. You have to do it tonight!&#8221; Trump said.
&#8220;And I did, actually,&#8221; Trump added. &#8220;I called President Putin and we&#8217;re trying to work out a meeting with President Zelensky.&#8221;

In the middle of the meeting, Trump called Russian President Vladimir Putin to set up a face-to-face meeting with the Ukrainian president. Trump told &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends&#8221; that he did not call Putin in front of the European leaders.
&#8220;I thought that would be disrespectful to President Putin. I wouldn&#8217;t do that because they have not had the warmest relations,&#8221; Trump continued. &#8220;And, actually, President Putin wouldn&#8217;t talk to the people from Europe. That was part of the problem. They had no communication.&#8221;

Both Trump and Zelensky described Monday&#8217;s discussions as constructive. The U.S. president vowed to provide Ukraine with security guarantees if a peace deal is reached with Russia, and Zelensky was open to meeting with Putin to hash out a deal.

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One on Tuesday, President Donald Trump, in his inimitable style, forcefully dismissed the idea of recognizing a Palestinian state, declaring that it would be rewarding the terrorist group Hamas if such a thing eventuated.
“Is there any use at all in pressuring Israel now to come to some sort of longer-term solution?” a reporter asked.
“Well, you could make the case that you’re rewarding people, that you’re rewarding Hamas if you do that,” Trump replied. “And I don’t think they should be rewarded. So I’m not in that camp, to be honest. We’ll let you know where we are, but I am not in that camp, because if you do that, you really are rewarding Hamas, and I’m not about to do that.”

After Macron declared he would recognize a Palestinian state, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee told Christian broadcaster Tony Perkins:

NORTHWOOD (Reuters) — France and Britain on Thursday agreed to reinforce cooperation over their respective nuclear arsenals as the two European powerhouses seek to respond to growing threats to the continent and uncertainty over their U.S. ally.
The announcement came after French President Emmanuel Macron concluded a three-day state visit to Britain, where the two allies sought to turn the page on years of turbulence following Britain&#8217;s decision to withdraw from the European Union.
&#8220;This morning, we signed the Northward declaration, confirming for the first time that we are coordinating our independent nuclear deterrence,&#8221; British Prime Minister Keir Starmer told a news conference alongside Macron.
&#8220;From today, our adversaries will know that any extreme threat to this continent would prompt a response from our two nations. There is no greater demonstration of the importance of this relationship.&#8221;
U.S. President Donald Trump&#8217;s questioning of burden-sharing in NATO and his overtures to Russia have led to existential questions in Europe about the trans-Atlantic relationship and Washington&#8217;s commitment to helping defend its European allies.
Europe&#8217;s primary nuclear deterrence comes from the United States and is a decades-old symbol of trans-Atlantic solidarity.
Macron said the two countries had created an oversight committee to coordinate their cooperation, a task he said was vital.
&#8220;The decision is that we don&#8217;t exclude the coordination of our respective deterrents. It&#8217;s a message that our partners and adversaries must hear,&#8221; Macron said.
The closer cooperation had nothing to do with their efforts to create a coalition of the willing to support Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire with Russia, he added.
While both sides will keep their own decision-making processes and strategic ambiguity, the move does suggest further protection for the continent at a time when the United States&#8217; commitment to Europe is under scrutiny.
Macron has previously said he will launch a strategic dialogue on extending the protection offered by France&#8217;s nuclear arsenal to its European partners.
The U.S. has nuclear arms in Europe and tens of thousands of troops deployed in bases across the continent with military capabilities that Europe cannot match.
France spends about 5.6 billion euros ($6.04 billion) annually on maintaining its stockpile of 290 submarine- and air-launched nuclear weapons, the world&#8217;s fourth largest.
Britain describes its nuclear programme as &#8220;operationally independent,&#8221; but sources missile technology from the U.S. and depends on the U.S. for acquisition and maintenance support.
&#8220;On the nuclear agreement that we&#8217;ve reached today &#8230; it is truly historic,&#8221; Starmer said.

We are not solving our deficit problem.
You can see what&#8217;s going to happen to the United States down the line, because no one takes this problem seriously. Most Republicans don&#8217;t. Most Democrats don&#8217;t. The American people certainly do not. 
All you have to do is take a look across the ocean at Great Britain. On Wednesday, there was a shocking and fraught moment that happened there. The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/world/uk/britains-chancellor-in-tears-as-investors-turn-on-government-22aee17f?gaa_at=eafs&amp;gaa_n=ASWzDAjZpkxEZH_qTxXcl-zvbi7np_J3qYRtV5gD99cAFFKx9W04z7JDoMWZ-xkzK3w%3D&amp;gaa_ts=6866caec&amp;gaa_sig=0k3E5u5VSkXj7mYSs0Q3EQLJqtEknleCqra4ptlRa79N59RLrBTHOVLmsAPH4A3zsL6rpF65FSo9B8cDPH9nDA%3D%3D">reported</a>:

That far outpaced the more muted gains for yields in the U.S. and in other major markets. 
“Markets have latched onto the idea that Reeves’s departure might be much more imminent,” said Mark Dowding, chief investment officer for fixed income at RBC BlueBay Asset Management. “That is unsettling investors in terms of what that means of the Labour government’s commitment to the fiscal framework.” </blockquote>
Of course, the Labour Party didn&#8217;t have any commitment to the fiscal framework; they are a far-Left party. They were never going to be fiscally responsible.  
This is demonstrative of a crisis that is eventually going to face every Western government, including the government of the United States. “The government’s climbdown points to a broader truth for governments across Western Europe, where weak economic growth means countries are struggling to raise enough revenue to pay for rising costs from an aging population, the Journal stated “With voters largely wary of spending cuts, that leaves higher taxes, which could hurt growth further, as the most likely outcome.”
“Britain is already on course to register the <a href="https://www.wsj.com/world/uk/britains-labour-party-bets-on-big-taxes-borrowing-to-boost-economy-5d3eba82?mod=article_inline">highest tax burden</a> since World War II thanks to big spending during the pandemic and paying out for energy subsidies after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile its growth prospects remain meager,” the Journal noted.
If you look into the future for the United States, this sort of thing could happen here, too. The United States is demographically growing only because of immigration.

The reality is that the fertility rate in the United States is actually below replacement levels, at 1.66 births per woman. The United States is not replacing its own population. The only way we are able to do that is through large-scale immigration, which we have stopped, which means we have a shrinking tax base, an aging population, just like Western Europe, slower but similar.
We also have the possibility of serious economic stagnation, absent a massive breakthrough in AI that suddenly translates into higher productivity.
If all of that materializes and we don&#8217;t cut any of the massive welfare state that we have built, we are going to end up inflating our way out of this. That&#8217;s the reality. As I&#8217;ve said myriad times, there are only three solutions to massive debt: inflation, massive tax increases, or austerity. Our population is so used to its benefits that they do not want austerity.
But eventually, the West is going to have to grow up and recognize that the welfare state has costs attendant upon it. And those costs are going to have to be paid for by someone; they can&#8217;t be kicked down the road indefinitely. You can&#8217;t just magically manufacture money and hope the economy is going to continue to sail forward.
So, what does the United States need? It needs massive economic growth, and eventually it&#8217;s going to need some real cuts to the size and scope of government.
The kind of cuts in the Big, Beautiful Bill are not going to do it. They need to be a lot larger than that.
I know that&#8217;s an unpopular view. It also happens to be an economically sane view that very few people in politics are willing to take because most people don&#8217;t want to hear it.
But we must be willing to listen to reality, even if it’s painful, for one reason, and one reason alone: In the end, reality always wins.

The British House of Commons narrowly approved an “assisted dying” bill on Friday, as critics warned the legislation contains weakened safeguards that could endanger vulnerable patients.
Catholic priest John Howard, who led people in prayer outside parliament, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/british-lawmakers-vote-landmark-assisted-dying-law-2025-06-19/">called</a> the bill’s passage &#8220;a dark day for our country.&#8221;
The legislation, which passed with a narrow 314-291 vote, would allow mentally competent, terminally ill adults in England and Wales with six months or less to live to choose to end their lives with medical assistance.
Critics note that support for the bill has weakened since November&#8217;s initial vote of 330-275, as some lawmakers withdrew support after safeguards were diluted.
The original plan requiring court approval for assisted deaths has been replaced with a requirement for review by a panel including a social worker, senior legal figure, and psychiatrist.
British Health Secretary Wes Streeting <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/article/assisted-dying-cost-nhs-wes-streeting-gmbfh63gv">warned</a> that the bill in its current form could lead to a “chilling” scenario in which the cash-strapped National Health Service (NHS) could pressure terminally ill patients into an early death to save NHS money.
Care Not Killing released a statement calling the bill &#8220;deeply flawed and dangerous,&#8221; and CEO Gordon Macdonald slammed the process, criticizing the fact that &#8220;[m]embers of Parliament had under 10 hours to consider over 130 amendments to the Bill, or less than 5 minutes per change.&#8221;
&#8220;Does anyone think this is enough time to consider changes to a draft law that quite literally is a matter of life and death?&#8221; Macdonald continued.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer voted in favor of the bill, which now proceeds to Britain&#8217;s upper chamber, the House of Lords, for months of further scrutiny.
The unelected Lords are traditionally reluctant to block legislation passed by elected members of the House of Commons. However, insiders <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/article/opponents-plan-to-thwart-assisted-dying-bill-in-house-of-lords-jft97r0zs">told</a> the Times this bill has many critics in the House of Lords, and could lead the upper chamber to break this norm.
One source told The Times there were “plenty of black arts that could be used to kill the bill off,” and that they could “not imagine how it could get through.”
Another peer concurred: “This bill is still going to have an extremely difficult path to the statute book. There are enough peers in the Lords who are vehemently opposed to it becoming law and more than enough opportunity for them to thwart it. It is far from a foregone conclusion.”
However, many in the U.K. celebrated the bill’s passage despite flaws pointed out by critics.
Emma Bray, a 42-year-old mother of two with motor neuron disease who has been given six months to live, celebrated the vote result.

President Donald Trump and U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Monday announced a trade agreement to cut tariffs between the two countries.
The two leaders announced the trade agreement on the sidelines of the Group of Seven Summit in Canada. The president said the deal is “fair to both sides.”
“We have our trade agreement with the [United Kingdom] and it&#8217;s a fair deal for both, and it&#8217;s going to produce a lot of jobs, a lot of income, and we have many, many other ones coming,” said Trump. “The level of enthusiasm is very good, but the relationship that we have is fantastic.”
Starmer called the deal a “really important agreement.”
“This is a very good day for both of our countries, a real sign of strength. So, thank you again, Donald. A really important day for both of us,” he said.

A copy of the general agreement released by the White House would set a 10% tariff for the first 100,000 vehicles imported into the United States from Britain. The agreement would also remove a host of tariffs on aerospace products.
The agreement does not set final terms for trade on steel and aluminum. The outline said that the British government would be working to meet American standards for supply chain security.
“In the General Terms, the United Kingdom also committed to working to meet American requirements on the security of the supply chains of steel and aluminum products intended for export to the United States and on the nature of ownership of relevant production facilities,” the draft <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/06/implementing-the-general-terms-of-the-united-states-of-america-united-kingdom-economic-prosperity-deal/">agreement</a> says.
Trump and Starmer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-to-announce-major-trade-deal-with-united-kingdom">announced</a> in May that the United States and United Kingdom had reached agreement on vehicles, steel, and aluminum.

A driver crashed his vehicle into a crowd of parade-goers in Liverpool, England, on Monday as thousands of soccer fans celebrated the city’s football club.
Police said a man rammed his vehicle through a crowded street, knocking down and running over pedestrians before he was stopped. Police <a href="https://www.merseyside.police.uk/news/merseyside/news/2025/may-2025/update-police-incident-water-street-liverpool-city-centre/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">confirmed</a> that they had arrested “a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area.”
“The scenes in Liverpool are appalling — my thoughts are with all those injured or affected,” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a post on X. “I want to thank the police and emergency services for their swift and ongoing response to this shocking incident.”
“I’m being kept updated on developments and ask that we give the police the space they need to investigate,” he added.

“Then people started rushing to go after the driver and they tried to break the car. The police did everything to block and to push people away,” she told <a href="https://news.sky.com/story/police-responding-to-incident-at-liverpool-fc-parade-after-reports-of-car-collision-with-pedestrians-13374978" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sky News</a>. “We could just hear screams. We were very confused. Some of my friends were down there and the car was so near them. It was a horrible scene, nobody was expecting it.”
Thousands of fans lined a 10-mile long parade route on Monday after Liverpool Football Club won the English Premier League. The club locked up the title last month before the end of the season, but players hoisted the Premier League trophy on Sunday.
“We are in direct contact with Merseyside Police regarding the incident on Water Street which happened towards the end of the trophy parade earlier this evening,” the club <a href="https://x.com/LFC/status/1927078543164342468" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a statement after the vehicle attack.

Prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bones has a <a href="https://www.healthline.com/health/prostate-cancer/prostate-cancer-spread-to-bones#outlook">~33%</a> 5-year survival rate, and the <a href="https://corporate.dukehealth.org/news/where-prostate-cancer-spreads-body-affects-survival-time">median life expectancy</a> after diagnosis is 21 months. The one silver lining is that it appears to be “hormone-sensitive,” making it more treatable.
After former President Biden dropped out of the race last summer, Democrat leaders made a concerted effort to shift their focus away from the president and toward Kamala Harris and other prominent, younger lawmakers. But a new book from Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson offers explosive details of “President Biden’s decline, its cover-up and his disastrous choice to run again.” The revelations have set Washington ablaze and brought the former president’s decline back into the national conversation.
Remember: The White House spent four years condemning anyone who questioned his cognitive fitness, labeling videos of his mental missteps “cheap fakes” and essentially gaslighting those who said he seemed off. 
According to numerous administration and campaign officials, both on and off the record, Biden’s physical deterioration was so severe that some of his closest advisers believed he would need to use a wheelchair if re-elected. In a new operation, <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/408548">called</a> Operation Gideon’s Chariots, Israeli troops moved into portions of northern and southern Gaza while the air force launched hundreds of strikes against terrorists. Israel’s objectives have been the same since the war began: to free the hostages and destroy Hamas. Over the weekend, Israel made measurable progress toward both of those goals. According to a Hamas spokesman, the terror group decided to return to the negotiating table without preconditions. 
An Israeli official <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/408546">told</a> Israel’s I24 News that talks in Qatar are “intense” but still short of a “breakthrough.” While officials are more optimistic than last week, it’s still unclear if a deal can be reached.” One possible agreement, proposed by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, would secure the release of 10 hostages.  Israeli officials believe 23 of the October 7 hostages that remain in Hamas’ custody are still alive, although there are concerns that three of them are in critical condition. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has said he is willing to end the war altogether, but only if Hamas surrenders and Gaza is disarmed. The Israeli official said the delegation in Qatar “won&#8217;t be there forever. If there won&#8217;t be progress shortly, we will progress in the fighting.”
Over the weekend, Israeli planes carried out at least 670 strikes against Hamas terror targets. Dozens of terrorists are <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/408532">reportedly</a> dead, and one of those might have been Hamas’ head of military operations, Mohammed Sinwar – the brother of Yahya Sinwar, who led Hamas until Israeli forces killed him in October.
New documents have also shed light on what inspired the October 7 terror attack on Israel that began this war. <a href="https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/hamas-wanted-to-torpedo-israel-saudi-deal-with-oct-7-attacks-documents-reveal-a70ec560">The Wall Street Journal</a> got a peek at the minutes of an October 2, 2023, meeting of Hamas’s political leadership, which show that this attack that had been years in the making, was launched less than a week later to disrupt Israeli-Saudi relations. Israel and Saudi Arabia were close to normalizing relations under the Abraham Accords from President Donald Trump’s first term. According to the minutes, Yahya Sinwar was concerned that normalizing relations between the Saudis and Israelis would “open the door for the majority of Arab and Islamic countries to follow the same path.” So – with Iran’s approval – Hamas launched the attack to “bring about … a strategic shift in the paths and balances of the region with regard to the Palestinian cause.”
In his second term, President Trump has continued to try to bring Israel and Saudi Arabia together. In his recent visit to the Middle East, the president said, “It&#8217;s my fervent hope, wish, and even my dream that Saudi Arabia, a place I have such respect for… will soon be joining the Abraham Accords.”

Topline: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has made a landmark speech in which he attacked mass migration and said his government would significantly reduce it.
At a press conference unveiling his government’s new policy, Prime Minister Starmer said that he wanted to “take back control of our borders,” calling the previous era of mass immigration “squalid.” He blamed the previous Conservative government for the significant increase in immigration since 2021, which saw net migration quadruple. In 2023, migration was more than 1 million, which is nearly the same size as Birmingham, the second-largest city in the country. Starner called this a “one-nation experiment in open borders,” warning that Britain risked becoming an “island of strangers.” 
“When you have an immigration system that seems designed to permit abuse, bring in lower paid workers, sold by politicians on a false premise, then you are not championing growth or justice!” Starmer said. “You&#8217;re actually contributing to the forces that are slowly pulling our country apart.”
Although he praised diversity and described migration as part of “Britain’s story,” Starmer said that immigrants should commit to integrating, including learning English. He also extended the period required to apply for permanent settlement from five years to 10.
“That will reassure a lot of people who were worried that the millions of low-skilled immigrants who have come here in the last few years would soon be eligible for settlement, at which point they could fully access the welfare state,” Guy Dampier of the Prosperity Institute told The Daily Wire. “Immigration policy in Britain has been dominated for the last few decades by the idea that immigration was good for the economy and that it was only illegal immigration which was the problem. So this is a major rhetorical shift.”
The ideological pivot provoked outrage within the Labour Party’s left-wing base – many party activists resigned, and some sitting members of parliament condemned their party leader’s speech. However, <a href="https://migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/resources/briefings/uk-public-opinion-toward-immigration-overall-attitudes-and-level-of-concern/">polling</a> indicates that public support for reducing immigration is quite high.
“In a lot of ways the Prime Minister is reflecting the mood of the country, rather than driving it,” Dampier told The Daily Wire. “And which the anti-immigration Reform party (led by Nigel Farage) did very well in. So some people think this is an attempt to win back voters and stem the collapse in popularity. For people on the right, this was something of a vindication. The Prime Minister said things they have argued for years.”

&#8220;That is what this White Paper will deliver: lower net migration, higher skills and backing British workers,&#8221; with the reforms estimated to cut migrant numbers by 50,000 annually.
Starmer accused industries of being &#8220;almost addicted to importing cheap labour&#8221; instead of &#8220;investing in the skills of people here and want a good job in their community.&#8221; He singled out engineering as a sector &#8220;where visas have rocketed while apprenticeships have plummeted.&#8221;

The agreement will allow the United States to gain increased market access in the United Kingdom — the sixth-largest economy in the world — for billions of dollars worth of American exports, according to Trump. U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who spoke to the president over the phone, told Trump he is &#8220;really pleased&#8221; with the deal between the two allies. The final details are still being worked out, but Trump will keep some tariffs in place on British imports. The president emphasized that the deal would boost both countries&#8217; industrial bases and help protect steel.
&#8220;Both countries have agreed that economic security is national security and will be working together as allies to ensure that we have a strong industrial base and appropriate export controls and protections for key technologies and industries like steel,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;Steel was a big factor. Both countries will become stronger with steel.&#8221;

Asked by Daily Wire White House Reporter Mary Margaret Olohan if the trade deal includes any assurances from Britain to protect free speech and freedom of religion, Trump and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the agreement is solely focused on the economy.
Lutnick added that the deal will also allow the United Kingdom to export up to 100,000 vehicles to the United States for a 10% tariff. Lutnick said the agreement will enable the U.K. to maintain access to the U.S. market while also protecting American jobs. The United States will be able to gain more access to U.K. markets to sell agricultural products such as “ethanol, beef, [and] machinery,&#8221; according to Lutnick. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said the deal will &#8220;exponentially increase our beef exports&#8221; to the United Kingdom.
The United Kingdom will also be allowed to export Rolls-Royce engines and airplane parts to the United States tariff-free, and Britain will purchase $10 billion worth of Boeing airplanes from the United States, Lutnick added.
Starmer praised Trump and his trade team for working out the trade deal.
&#8220;Really important deal,&#8221; Starmer said. &#8220;This is going to boost trade between and across our countries. It&#8217;s not only going to protect jobs, but create jobs, opening market access.&#8221;

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer&#8217;s latest promised effort to combat violent crime has so far only resulted in him taking a virtual beating on social media.
Starmer announced via X that he was going to make good on his promise to ban ninja swords, and critics were far from impressed.
&#8220;Knife crime is at epidemic levels and is ruining lives across Britain. As Prime Minister, I&#8217;ll crack down on sales of these lethal weapons once and for all. When I announce a ban, you’ll get a ban,&#8221; Starmer posted in late January of 2024, along with an article from The Sun stating that ninja swords would be included in such a ban.
