<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/reese-witherspoon" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Reese Witherspoon</a> shut down rumors that she and actress Kate Winslet weren’t speaking after the internet decided that the two stars had some kind of “falling out.”
It all started with comments the “Legally Blonde” star made during an interview with her costar Will Ferrell for their movie “You’re Cordially Invited” for <a href="https://people.com/reese-witherspoon-sets-record-straight-kate-winslet-falling-out-8784427">People magazine</a>.
Speaking about a time when one of the stars wished they hadn&#8217;t given a speech, Witherspoon recalled being asked by someone she called a “proper” actress if she would present an award to the unnamed star. Reese said she agreed, but mistakenly thought it was more like a roast for her &#8212; but it wasn’t.
&#8220;This friend of mine, who I didn&#8217;t really know that well, but she was a very serious, proper actress, she asked me to give her an award,” the actress said. “But I had never been to this award ceremony, so I thought it was like a roast.”

“So I got up and I roasted her,” she added. “The tone was British and elegant and classy. I’m still embarrassed about it. We’re not friends anymore. I’m not even kidding — we’re not friends anymore.”
&#8220;I think she doesn’t like me anymore,” Witherspoon continued. “I thought it was so funny, and it was just — I had the wrong audience. It was pretty bad. Yeah. Not even kidding, she doesn’t talk to me anymore. Oh well.&#8221;
So, the internet decided to do some digging and determined that it must’ve happened when the actress presented Winslet with a BAFTA/LA Cunard Britannia Award in 2007, the outlet noted.
“The Morning Show” star caught wind of the speculation and decided to make clear that she and Winslet were in fact still friends, and it wasn’t the actress she mentioned in the interview.
&#8220;Hey guys &#8230; just spoke to my very dear friend for years, Kate W. We laughed about this stupidity,” Witherspoon said in her Instagram Stories. “Please do not believe the internet. We are good friends and have never had any falling out.&#8221;
In another post, the Oscar winner added, &#8220;This is completely UNTRUE &#8230;so silly!&#8221;

During an interview with <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9Z4caCa2yw">Vanity Fair</a>, the 48-year-old actress reflected on her time working on James Cameron’s monster 1997 hit and all that went into the actors&#8217; famous scene “flying” on the bow of the ship.
“My God, he’s quite the romancer, isn’t he? No wonder every young girl in the world wanted to be kissed by Leonardo DiCaprio,&#8221; Winslet said. &#8220;It was not all it’s cracked up to be.&#8221;
Winslet said DiCaprio wasn’t all to blame and said it was a “mess” trying to get the shot, because her dress was so tight she could barely breath, with “her boobs practically up to her chin.” She also recalled having to climb a ladder to make the scene work where she said hair and makeup couldn’t reach them, so she said she had to carry makeup in her clothing and do touchups between takes.

&#8220;We kept doing this kiss, and I’ve got a lot of pale makeup on, and I would have to do our makeup checks — on both of us, between takes — and I would end up looking as though I’d been sucking a caramel chocolate bar after each take because his makeup would come off on me,&#8221; she added. &#8220;And he just looked like there was a bit missing from his face because there was this big pale bit from all my makeup getting onto him.&#8221;

“Because I feel that it is that film that just keeps giving,&#8221; Winslet said. &#8220;Whole other generations of people are discovering the film or seeing it for the first time and there’s something extraordinary about that.&#8221;
In a recent interview, the superstar actress admitted all the fame she got after appearing in “Titanic” was “horrible.&#8221;

Despite the negatives, the British Academy Award winner looks back fondly on the film that turned her into an international superstar.

“It’s my first time,” the interviewer admits in the clip. The person conducting the interview is Martha, a “Kinderreporterin,” or &#8220;child reporter&#8221; for the German TV network <a href="https://www.zdf.de/kinder/logo/kinderreporterin-martha-trifft-kate-winslet-100.html">ZDF</a>. Their interaction was quickly picked up by U.S. outlets as well. 
The Titanic star replies, “This is your first time doing it? OK, well, guess what. When we do this interview, it’s going to be the most amazing interview ever. And do you know why? Because we’ve decided that it is going to be.”
“So, we’ve decided right now, me and you, this is going to be a really fantastic interview,” Winslet continues. “And you can ask me anything that you want and you don’t have to be scared, everything is going to be amazing.”
The reporter agrees with a nervous giggle, prompting Winslet to encourage her by saying again, “You got this. OK, let’s do it!”
Fans were immediately receptive to Winslet’s reaction to the young journalist being so nervous.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kate-winslet">Kate Winslet</a> has weighed in on the famous “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/titanic">Titanic</a>” door controversy in light of the film’s 25th anniversary.
In the movie, the character Rose (Winslet) survives after the boat sinks after finding a floating door to use as a raft. Meanwhile, her love interest Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) freezes to death in the icy sea. Fans have speculated for decades whether Jack could have fit on the door with Rose and potentially have survived the disaster. 
The 47-year-old actress said that the matter came down to the door&#8217;s buoyancy, not its size.
“I don’t f***ing know. That’s the answer. I don’t f***ing know,” Winslet said during a recent Happy Sad Confused <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cT9s_EeqkJ0">podcast</a> episode. “Look, all I can tell you is, I do have a decent understanding of water and how it behaves.”
“If you put two adults on a stand-up paddleboard, it becomes immediately, extremely unstable. That is for sure,” she continued.
Finally, she revealed her personal opinion on the controversy.
“I have to be honest: I actually don’t believe that we would have survived if we had both gotten on that door,” Winslet declared. “I think he would have fit, but it would have tipped and it would not have been a sustainable idea.”
“So, you heard it here for the first time,” she concluded. “Yes, he could have fit on that door, but it would not have stayed afloat. It wouldn’t.”
Movie director <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/james-cameron">James Cameron</a> had similar thoughts when previously asked about the controversy. He told <a href="https://torontosun.com/entertainment/movies/james-cameron-plans-to-prove-that-jack-couldnt-have-lived-in-titanic">The Toronto Sun</a> that the idea of both Jack and Rose fitting on the raft had already been tested.
“We have done a scientific study to put this whole thing to rest and drive a stake through its heart once and for all,” Cameron told the publication. 
“We have since done a thorough forensic analysis with a hypothermia expert who reproduced the raft from the movie,” he continued. “We took two stunt people who were the same body mass of Kate and Leo and we put sensors all over them and inside them and we put them in ice water. We tested to see whether they could have survived through a variety of methods and the answer was, there was no way they both could have survived. Only one could survive.”
Cameron also said he has no regrets about Jack dying. “No, he needed to die,” the filmmaker confirmed. “It’s like Romeo and Juliet. It’s a movie about love and sacrifice and mortality. The love is measured by the sacrifice,” he said.
He hopes fans will be able to move past the door controversy now. “Maybe … maybe … after 25 years, I won’t have to deal with this anymore,” Cameron told the publication while laughing.

The 47-year-old star accomplished the feat while filming the new <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/james-cameron">James Cameron</a> film, “Avatar: The Way of Water.” Her time of seven minutes and fifteen seconds beat Tom Cruise’s best time of six minutes, which he achieved on the set of “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation” in 2011.
“I have the video of me surfacing saying, ‘Am I dead, have I died?’ And then going, ‘What was [my time]?’” Winslet <a href="https://www.gamesradar.com/kate-winslet-interview-avatar-way-of-water/">told</a> Total Film magazine during a recent interview.
After confirming she was still alive, the actress quickly focused on whether she’d bested Cruise’s record.
“Straight away I wanted to know my time. And I couldn’t believe it … The next thing I say is, ‘We need to radio set.’ I wanted Jim [Cameron] to know right away,” she continued.
&#8220;She&#8217;s not competitive at all,&#8221; the director quipped. 
She went on to describe that while Cameron never insisted she had to hold her breath that long, Winslet took it on as a personal challenge. 
“Well, I didn’t have to hold my breath for over seven minutes,” the “Titanic” star explained. “It’s just that the opportunity to set a record presented itself. I wanted to break my own record, which was already six minutes and 14 seconds. And I was like, ‘Come on!’ So I smashed my own record by a minute.”
Cameron had already expressed his intention to limit “dry for wet” scenes in the new “Avatar” so the high-stakes film could feel more authentic. He <a href="https://ew.com/movies/james-cameron-teases-avatar-sequel/">told</a> Entertainment Weekly in 2021 that faking underwater scenes didn’t look real, which necessitated the actors going under during filming. 
“I said, ‘It’s not going to work. It’s not going to look real,’” Cameron said. “I even let them run a test, where we captured dry for wet, and then we captured in water, a crude level of our in-water capture. And it wasn’t even close.”
Despite the incredible challenge of holding her breath for so long, Winslet insisted that wasn’t the most challenging thing about joining the “Avatar” cast.
“The biggest challenge was something people really wouldn&#8217;t imagine  – it was fitting into this world and yet appearing to have always been there,” the actress said. She went on to say it was a “fantastic experience.”

Movie director James Cameron said in a recent interview that &#8220;Titanic&#8221; actress Kate Winslet was &#8220;traumatized&#8221; from making the blockbuster film.
The remarks from Cameron come after he gave an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at the end of November about the second film of the Avatar movie franchise — “Avatar: The Way Of Water” — which took a decade to make and hits theaters later this month.
Cameron and Winslet reunited at an event for the upcoming movie, which hits theaters on December 16.
While speaking to the press, Winslet said that she might watch &#8220;Titanic&#8221; in honor of the 25th anniversary since the film was released but cautioned that she hates watching films that she has appeared in.

&#8220;Well, I might. I mean, I&#8217;m just not very good at watching myself on screen. It&#8217;s not just ‘Titanic,’ like I don&#8217;t like watching myself in anything,&#8221; she said on Monday. &#8220;I guess I probably will watch it.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m 47 years old now, guys, and I turned 21 when we were shooting that movie. So, it&#8217;s like half my lifetime ago,&#8221; she added. &#8220;It&#8217;s amazing and incredible to have been part of something that&#8217;s, you know, so steeped in nostalgia for people and still resonates with people in the way that it does. It&#8217;s a huge, huge honor that people still love something that I was a part of all those years ago.&#8221;
In an <a href="https://news.yahoo.com/james-cameron-says-kate-winslet-195258093.html">interview</a> with the Radio Times, Cameron said that he thought Winslet &#8220;came out of ‘Titanic’ a bit traumatized by the scale of the production and her responsibility within it.&#8221;
&#8220;We&#8217;ve both been eager over time to work together again, to see what the other is about at this point in our lives and careers,&#8221; he added. &#8220;She&#8217;s very large and in charge on set. You&#8217;d swear she was producing the film.&#8221;
In his November interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cameron <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/movie-director-james-cameron-testosterone-a-toxin-that-men-should-work-out-of-their-system">said</a> that testosterone was a “toxin” that men should work out of their system.
Cameron, 68, said that he has changed as he has gotten older as his “F-bomb-laden shouting matches with executives is behind him,” the publication said.
“A lot of things I did earlier, I wouldn’t do — career-wise and just risks that you take as a wild, testosterone-poisoned young man,” he said. “I always think of [testosterone] as a toxin that you have to slowly work out of your system.”
During the interview, Cameron <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/titanic-director-says-diva-like-attitude-almost-cost-leonardo-dicaprio-his-iconic-role">said</a> that Leonardo DiCaprio’s “diva-like attitude” nearly cost him the iconic role of Jack in the 1997 blockbuster “<a href="https://dailywire.com/news/young-actor-shares-advice-he-got-from-leonardo-dicaprio-early-in-his-career/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Titanic</a>.”
Cameron explained that his first meeting with <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/thank-you-leo-christian-bale-claims-hes-only-gotten-leonardo-dicaprios-rejects-in-hollywood/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">DiCaprio</a> actually went very well — although he noted that he was amused that all of the women associated with the production suddenly had a reason to be in the room for the actor’s first appearance.
“There was a meeting with Leo and there was a screen test with Leo,” Cameron reflected, adding, “So the meeting was funny, because I’m in my conference room waiting to meet an actor, right? And I look around, and all the women in the entire office are in the meeting for some reason. Like, there’s a female executive producer, okay, fine. But our accountant? You know, why was she in the meeting?”
Cameron laughed again, saying that he realized as he looked around the room that they had all just wanted to meet DiCaprio.
“So Leo came in — of course, charmed everybody, myself included,” Cameron continued, noting that actress Kate Winslet had already been chosen to play the part of Rose. “And I said, ‘Alright, let’s see what your chemistry’s like with Kate.’”
So DiCaprio was asked to come back for a meeting with Winslet, and he agreed — but when he arrived and Cameron asked him to read with her, the “Romeo + Juliet” star balked.
“He said, ‘You mean I’m reading?’” Cameron recalled. “And I said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘Oh, I don’t read.’”
The “Avatar” director’s response was to immediately thank DiCaprio for his time, at which point Cameron said the actor back-pedaled quickly. “He said, ‘Wait, wait, wait. You mean if I don’t read, I don’t get the part? Just like that?’”
Cameron said his reply was simple: “I said, ‘Oh, yeah. Come on. This is, like, a giant movie that’s gonna take two years of my life … so I’m not gonna f*** it up by making the wrong decision in casting. So you’re gonna read, or you’re not gonna get the part.’”

Cameron, whose newest film — &#8220;Avatar: The Way Of Water&#8221; — is set to be released in theaters on December 16, spoke with GQ about some of his most famous films. &#8220;Titanic,&#8221; which smashed box office records and ultimately <a href="https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt0120338/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">grossed over $2 billion</a> worldwide, was high on the list — but according to Cameron, things could have been very different.

&#8220;All right, he’s the guy,&#8221; Cameron said, noting that &#8220;Kate just lit up&#8221; the moment they began reading together.

Kate Winslet returned to production this week after she fell on set Sunday while filming her latest movie, &#8220;Lee,&#8221; on location in Croatia.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kate-winslet">46-year-old</a> actress was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures after she sustained some kind of leg injury while filming the World War II movie in a village called Kupari, <a href="https://etcanada.com/news/929519/kate-winslet-returns-to-work-after-on-set-accident-in-croatia/">Entertainment Tonight</a> Canada reported.
&#8220;Kate [Winslet] slipped and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure required by the production,&#8221; a statement from the &#8220;Titanic&#8221; star&#8217;s rep to the ET outlet read. &#8220;She is fine and will be filming, as planned, this week.&#8221;

Pictures have since surfaced showing the Academy Award-winning actress back on set wearing military attire for her portrayal of World War II correspondent Lee Miller, specifically the part of her life and career during the war which took her from the pages of fashion to the front line.
A description of the movie on IMDb read, &#8220;The story of photographer Elizabeth &#8216;Lee&#8217; Miller, a fashion model who became an acclaimed war correspondent for Vogue magazine during World War II.&#8221;
&#8220;This is absolutely not a biopic,&#8221; Winslet told <a href="https://deadline.com/2021/10/kate-winslet-lee-miller-wwii-film-marion-cotillard-jude-law-andrea-riseborough-josh-oconnor-1234859103/">Deadline</a> previously. &#8220;To make a story about Lee&#8217;s whole life, that&#8217;s a series worth for HBO. What we wanted to do was find the most interesting decade in her life, the one that defined who she was and what she became because of what she went through.&#8221;

&#8220;Lee&#8221; is being directed by Ellen Kuras and along with Winslet stars such big names as Jude Law, Josh O&#8217;Conner, and Marion Cotillard, among others.

Superstar Actress Returns To Set After Being Taken To Hospital Following Accident While Filming

Actress Kate Winslet, who starred in the HBO limited series &#8220;Mare of Easttown&#8221; that concluded earlier this week, notably pushed back on attempts to make her look more attractive in the show.
The HBO <a href="https://www.hbo.com/mare-of-easttown">page</a> describes the show:

Winslet discussed the character she played with <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/31/style/mare-of-easttown-kate-winslet.html">The New York Times</a>, saying, “that [Winslet] has been bowled over by how audiences have fallen ‘in love with this wildly flawed, messy, broken, fragmented, difficult woman. I loved her marks and her scars and her faults and her flaws and the fact that she has no off switch, no stop button. She just knows ‘Go.’’”
Describing the show, Winslet said, “It’s about mothers protecting their children at all costs, and the lengths that a parent will go to in order to protect their children.” On the topic of the finale’s surprise ending, she added, “Oh God, it’s just unbelievable, it’s heartbreaking.” 
Winslet said she is aware that people say, “Oh my God, how can she let herself look so unglamorous?” When Craig Zobel, the director, promised her he would edit out “a bulgy bit of belly” in a sex scene, she told him, “Don’t you dare!” 
She also returned the promotional poster for the show twice because it had been touched up too much. “They were like ‘Kate, really, you can’t,’ and I’m like ‘Guys, I know how many lines I have by the side of my eye, please put them all back,’” she said. 
According to The Times, Winslet “said she balked when she saw an early cut in which her ordinarily luminous skin looked too good. ‘We tried to light it to make it look not nice,’ she said.”
She added, “Listen, I hope that in playing Mare as a middle-aged woman — I will be 46 in October — I guess that’s why people have connected with this character in the way that they have done because there are clearly no filters. She’s a fully functioning, flawed woman with a body and a face that moves in a way that is synonymous with her age and her life and where she comes from. I think we’re starved of that a bit.”
On the costume design of the show, Winslet said, “Whenever we’d find something unflattering, we’d be jumping up and down like, ‘Yes! We’re wearing this.’” She would even put her clothes in a pile in the trailer after shooting “and they would stay in a rumpled up ball overnight. We were not washing and drying and hanging those clothes. Never.”
They also added more makeup to her eyebrows to reportedly give her face a heavier appearance and kept the sunspots and imperfections. “We’re so used to seeing this stuff airbrushed away,” she said.
Winslet discussed the problems that come from social media and ideal images being so prevalent in society. 
“What worries me is that faces are beautiful. Faces that change, that move, are beautiful faces, but we’ve stopped learning how to love those faces because we keep covering them up with filters now because of social media and anyone can photoshop themselves, and airbrush themselves, and so they do,” she said. “In general, I would say I feel for this generation because I don’t see it stopping, I don’t see or feel it changing, and that just makes me sad because I hope that they aren’t missing out on being present in real life and not reaching for unattainable ideals.”
