The FBI has been caught rifling through the phone records of nearly a dozen Republican members of Congress — all swept up in special counsel Jack Smith’s relentless pursuit of President Donald Trump.
Records released by Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) on Monday show that the FBI analyzed the metadata of phone calls from Sens. Marsha Blackburn (TN), Cynthia Lummis (WY), Ron Johnson (WI), Tommy Tuberville (AL), Dan Sullivan (AK), Josh Hawley (MO) Bill Hagerty (TN), Lindsey Graham (SC), and Rep. Mike Kelly (PA.). The records were part of Smith’s “Arctic Frost” investigation, which led to Trump being charged in Washington, D.C., over accusations that he tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

The document Grassley shared showed that the FBI obtained the toll data of the GOP lawmakers&#8217; calls, meaning they gathered basic information, such as the date and time of certain phone calls. The agency did not monitor the content of the communications, the senators said.

FBI Director Kash Patel stated on Tuesday that agents had been fired as a result of the revelations and noted that the CR-15 squad, a public corruption unit within the FBI that assisted Smith’s investigation, had been disbanded. 
“Transparency is important and accountability is critical. We promised both, and this is what promises kept looks like. This FBI is delivering,” Patel <a href="https://x.com/FBIDirectorKash/status/1975506285656207664">said</a>. “As a result of our latest disclosure about the baseless monitoring of members of Congress by the prior leadership team of the FBI, we have already taken the following actions: We terminated employees, we abolished the weaponized CR-15 squad, and we initiated an ongoing investigation with more accountability measures ahead.”
President Donald Trump slammed Smith in a Tuesday morning post on Truth Social.

Sen. Johnson <a href="https://x.com/FBIDirectorKash/status/1975506285656207664">said</a> the revelation did not &#8220;surprise&#8221; him, but added that it should “shock every American.” He said he was briefed by FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino on the FBI’s actions. 
“We were surveilled simply for being Republicans,” he said. “What the Biden Administration has done is an outrageous abuse of power — it is blatant political persecution. Those responsible must be held fully accountable.”
Sen. Hawley <a href="https://x.com/HawleyMO/status/1975305232071487986">called</a> for a full investigation into the FBI&#8217;s handling of the tracking.
“This is an abuse of power beyond Watergate, beyond J. Edgar Hoover, one that directly strikes at the Constitution, the separation of powers, and the First Amendment,” he said. “We need a full investigation of all involved: who knew about it, who ordered it, and who approved it.”

WASHINGTON — Kash Patel&#8217;s announcement that the FBI was cutting all ties to the Southern Poverty Law Center followed a letter from top conservative leaders urging the White House to distance itself from the group, The Daily Wire has learned.
&#8220;Enough is enough,&#8221; the leaders wrote to White House Domestic Policy Council Director Vince Haley in a previously unreported letter. &#8220;The SPLC&#8217;s defamatory Hate Map should no longer be used by federal agencies as a fig leaf to mask discrimination against conservatives.&#8221;
The letter specifically called for President Donald Trump to issue an executive order removing any SPLC data from all federal agency websites and work, to block future use of the SPLC data on federal agency websites and work, and to block federal funds from going to government contractors who use the SPLC&#8217;s work to determine what organizations they will work with.

The signatories argued that the SPLC has become so &#8220;biased, politicized, and unmoored from its original mission that it has begun placing traditional value and faith-based organizations like Alliance Defending Freedom, Moms for Liberty, Liberty Counsel and the Family Research Council on its Hate Map&#8221; — a map that tracks over 1400 individuals and groups that it deems hateful and extremist and classes with the Ku Klux Klan.
That list included Charlie Kirk and the organization he founded, Turning Point USA.
&#8220;Just a few months ago, the SPLC ran a feature article viciously attacking Turning Point USA and Charlie Kirk for advocating for President Trump’s agenda on such issues as faith and the reality of biological sex,&#8221; the leaders wrote in their letter. &#8220;This would be laughable if the consequences of this reckless and dishonest behavior were not so deadly serious.&#8221;
Months later, Kirk was killed by a radical assassin who targeted the TPUSA founder for his political beliefs.
The SPLC once did &#8220;good work&#8221; fighting segregation in the South, the leaders noted. But less than a decade after its founding, &#8220;it egregiously strayed from its mission, declining today into what Politico has described as &#8216;more of a partisan progressive hit operation than a civil rights watchdog.'&#8221; In recent years, a number of radical left-wing terrorists have specifically cited the organization as their motivation to commit violence against Christians and conservatives.
In 2012, an attempted mass murderer made a plan to &#8220;stride into&#8221; the Family Research Council&#8217;s headquarters in Washington, D.C., to &#8220;open fire on the people inside in an effort to kill as many people as possible,&#8221; the letter argued. That gunman specifically said he was motivated by the SPLC, which had listed the Family Research Council as a hate group.
The SPLC hate designation was also cited as the reason for the riot and assault of a female professor at Middlebury College in 2017, the leaders argued.
&#8220;More recently, an SPLC staff attorney was arrested and charged in 2023 with domestic terrorism for his involvement in a violent riot against Atlanta police officers. The SPLC responded by condemning the arrests as &#8216;heavy-handed law enforcement intervention against protestors.'&#8221;
But the most &#8220;stunning&#8221; fact about the SPLC&#8217;s &#8220;Hate Map,&#8221; they argued, is &#8220;neither its rank dishonesty nor its transparent bias against SPLC’s conservative political enemies, but the fact that anyone would ever rely upon it to make significant policy decisions.&#8221;
&#8220;And yet, federal government agencies have utilized SPLC data and analysis in their work product, resulting in the stigmatization of lawful organizations advocating for views well within the American tradition.&#8221;
&#8220;For example,&#8221; they said, &#8220;the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has utilized SPLC materials to label traditional Catholics, among others, as radical extremists. The most recent known report, created by the FBI’s Richmond Field Office, used the SPLC as a source to label traditional Catholic groups as hate groups, and was sent to over 1,000 FBI employees nationally.&#8221;
Their efforts appear to have been successful.
On Friday, as The Daily Signal&#8217;s Tyler O&#8217;Neill first reported, the FBI severed all ties to the SPLC.
&#8220;The Southern Poverty Law Center long ago abandoned civil rights work and turned into a partisan smear machine,&#8221; FBI Director Kash Patel said in a Friday statement. &#8220;Their so-called &#8216;hate map&#8217; has been used to defame mainstream Americans and even inspired violence. That disgraceful record makes them unfit for any FBI partnership.&#8221;
&#8220;In April, during our Anti-Christian Bias Panel, I made it clear that the FBI will never rely on politicized or agenda-driven intelligence from outside groups — and certainly not from the SPLC,&#8221; Patel added. &#8220;Under this FBI, all ties with the SPLC have officially been terminated.&#8221;
The FBI confirmed to The Daily Signal that it has no intelligence products from the SPLC and that it no longer engages with the far-Left group. The news comes just days after Patel shared that the FBI had also severed ties with the Anti-Defamation League, a nonprofit that purports to oppose antisemitism but also has condemned critics of transgender ideology, including The Daily Wire&#8217;s Matt Walsh.

Federal authorities believe that the 40-year-old man accused of opening fire at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and killing four worshipers in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, on Sunday &#8220;hated people of the Mormon faith,&#8221; White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends.&#8221;
During an interview on Monday morning, Leavitt said that based on her conversations with FBI Director Kash Patel, &#8220;All they know right now is this was an individual who hated people of the Mormon faith, and they are trying to understand more about this, how premeditated it was, how much planning went into it, whether he left a note.&#8221;
&#8220;All of those questions have yet to be answered, but certainly will be answered by the FBI,&#8221; Leavitt added.

Authorities have not said whether any writings or information point to a specific motive in the attack, but Leavitt said that the FBI is executing &#8220;multiple search warrants at the residences and family homes&#8221; of the suspected shooter.
The suspected gunman was identified as Thomas Jacob Sanford, a U.S. Marine veteran who was deployed to Iraq for nearly seven months in 2007. The 40-year-old man had no criminal history and lived in Burton, Michigan, which borders Grand Blanc Township. The pickup truck the alleged shooter used in the attack had two American flags displayed in its bed. In a photo uploaded to Facebook in 2019, the gunman was pictured wearing a &#8220;Trump 2020&#8221; shirt that read, &#8220;Make Liberals Cry Again,&#8221; NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/what-we-know-thomas-jacob-sanford-suspect-michigan-church-shooting-rcna234309">reported</a>.

The attacker was carrying explosive devices when he drove his Chevy Silverado into the church building on Sunday, but authorities said it was unclear if he used them. Officials believe that the gunman used gas to start a fire in the church, a blaze that engulfed the entire building. The 40-year-old veteran allegedly opened fire on congregants with a semiautomatic rifle. Two people were killed from gunshot wounds, and two more people were found dead in the church after first responders arrived. Another eight people were wounded in the attack.
Police responded to the shooting within 30 seconds and pursued the shooter to a parking lot behind the church, where the suspect was shot and killed.

A newly publicized FBI after-action report reveals that the agency deployed hundreds of agents to the Capitol during the January 6 riot, many of whom later complained of being unsure about what they were supposed to be doing there. 
The <a href="https://justthenews.com/sites/default/files/2025-09/FBI-HJC119-J6IG-000001-000050.pdf">report</a> reveals that 274 FBI agents from the agency&#8217;s Washington Field Office were present in and around the Capitol on January 6, 2021. This included “agents who responded to the Capitol grounds as well as inside the Capitol, the pipe bombs, and the red truck that was believed to contain explosive devices,” according to the report obtained by Just the News. 
The report, recently sent to the House Judiciary Committee by FBI Director Kash Patel, indicates that several agents believed they were ill-equipped and unprepared to respond to the situation.
“The initial response of having us again respond to a riot by ‘standing the line’ did not seem appropriate because we do not have the gear, equipment, or training for riot control,” one agent wrote.

“As in June, agents were again deployed onto the streets (specifically around the Capitol) and simply told to stand behind MPD. No other direction. When asked specifically what they were supposed to do or who to check in with, they were told simply that management said to go there and there was no answer,” a different agent said. “FBI agents do not have training for, nor equipment for, riot control.”
Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), the chair of a House Judiciary subcommittee investigating January 6, <a href="https://justthenews.com/accountability/fbi-bombshell-274-agents-sent-capitol-j6-many-later-complained-they-were-political?utm_source=breaking&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=newsletter">told</a> Just the News that the number of FBI agents present at the Capitol raised more questions.
&#8220;Why is Congress just finding out there were significantly more FBI assets at the Capitol than previously identified? Were the courts that heard cases regarding January 6 made aware these agents were at the Capitol? Were any of the agents tasked to investigate individuals at the Capitol? Were they ever called to testify during the prosecutions of J6 defendants? Did any of the former FBI leaders testify about the additional personnel at the Capitol?” he asked. 
GOP lawmakers have repeatedly pressed the FBI over what it knew — and how it responded — on January 6. A previous Inspector General’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ig-says-fbi-had-dozens-of-informants-in-d-c-on-jan-6-including-in-capitol">report</a> revealed that the FBI also had at least 26 informants in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021, including some who committed offenses.
The report also contained complaints from agents who said that January 6 cases were politically motivated. One agent said that questions were being asked in “my community” about the “different responses” to the 2020 riots versus January 6. 
“We were once an apolitical organization, but I no longer see us as looking from the ground up. We have been used as pawns in a political war, and FBI leadership fell into the trap and has allowed it to happen. We are supposed to call balls and strikes, regardless of political pressure, now we can’t even be trusted to be on the field,” the agent wrote. 
Another agent shared a similar sentiment. 
“The actions on January 6, 2021 were absolutely despicable and unacceptable in a civilized society. What is even more unacceptable was the hypocrisy displayed by the FBI and its leadership in their attempt to go after those involved in the Capitol Riots, while we as agents, watched cities burn across America during the summer of 2020,” the agent wrote.

Such apps are a &#8220;casting call to invite bad actors to attack law enforcement officers,&#8221; Marcos Charles, ICE&#8217;s Acting Executive Associate Director of Enforcement and Removal Operations, said at a Thursday press conference. &#8220;It&#8217;s no different than giving the hit man the location of their intended target, and this is exactly what we saw happen in Dallas yesterday.&#8221;
Charles called out mainstream media outlets for amplifying these apps, lamenting that &#8220;The media has been amplifying these apps even as we warned them it would only lead to more attacks on law enforcement.&#8221;
&#8220;We truly wish we didn&#8217;t have to say we told you so, but here we are.&#8221;
CNN came under fire earlier this year for its coverage of one such app, &#8220;ICE Block.&#8221; CNN&#8217;s story and segment dove into the intricacies of the app, sharing how it allows users to report ICE sightings and pinpoint the locations of federal agents in order to help illegal aliens avoid arrest.
Users could be anonymous, CNN noted.
&#8220;‘I wanted to do something to fight back’: This iPhone app alerts users to nearby ICE sightings,&#8221; reads the headline of CNN reporter Claire Duffy&#8217;s piece.  Her coverage shares that &#8220;users can add a pin on a map showing where they spotted agents — along with optional notes, like what officers were wearing or what kind of car they were driving,&#8221; adding: &#8220;Other users within a five-mile radius will then receive a push alert notifying them of the sighting.&#8221;

ICE officials said in June that CNN&#8217;s segment endangered the lives of federal agents, and, pressed by The Daily Wire about the matter during a June press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt warned that the app sounded like &#8220;an incitement of further violence against our ICE officers.&#8221;
“It’s unacceptable that a major network would promote such an app that is encouraging violence against law enforcement officers who are trying to keep our country safe,&#8221; Leavitt said in June. The White House&#8217;s opposition to the coverage drew fire from liberal media outlets like MSNBC — which criticized the Trump administration and also interviewed ICE Block founder Joshua Aaron &#8220;to share his motive behind creating the app and why he&#8217;s not afraid of retaliation from the administration.&#8221;
On Thursday, following the tragic shooting at an ICE facility in Dallas, Leavitt slammed CNN once again.
&#8220;Three months ago, CNN irresponsibly gave free publicity to an app that recklessly shares the location of ICE Agents,&#8221; Leavitt said. &#8220;It has now been revealed the leftist lunatic shooter who opened fire on the Dallas ICE Facility was using one of these apps.&#8221; 
&#8220;The liberal media is complicit in the increased threats and violence against ICE,&#8221; Leavitt argued. &#8220;We see it every day — they are quick to write a fake story portraying ICE in a negative light, often omitting the real facts of these cases, and they hardly ever write about the vicious criminals that ICE is arresting every day to make our country safer.&#8221;

&#8220;This is an app that is publicly available to any iPhone user who wants to download it,&#8221; a CNN spokesman told The Daily Wire Thursday. &#8220;There is nothing illegal about reporting the existence of this or any other app, nor does such reporting constitute promotion or other endorsement of the app by CNN.&#8221;
In June, a spokesman defended the network&#8217;s coverage, saying in a statement that it &#8220;reported on a publicly available app, which is generating attention across the United States, and reached out to ICE for comment prior to publication,&#8221; and noting that &#8220;after CNN published its reporting, ICE posted a response, which is now included in the story.&#8221;
On Wednesday, 29-year-old Joshua Jahn opened fire on the Dallas ICE facility from a nearby rooftop. He killed one illegal immigrant detainee and injured two others before killing himself. FBI Director Patel said Thursday that FBI Dallas and FBI headquarters have been &#8220;working 24/7 to seize devices, exploit data, and process writings obtained on location and in the subject&#8217;s person/residence/bedroom.&#8221;
&#8220;This FBI is committed to providing timely updates, as promised,&#8221; Patel said, before sharing that &#8220;The perp downloaded a document titled &#8216;Dallas County Office of Homeland Security &amp; Emergency Management&#8217; containing a list of DHS facilities,&#8221; and noting that the killer &#8220;conducted multiple searches of ballistics and the &#8216;Charlie Kirk Shot Video&#8217; between 9/23-9/24.&#8221;
&#8220;Between 8/19-8/24,&#8221; Patel shared, &#8220;he searched apps that tracked the presence of ICE agents.&#8221;
One of the handwritten notes that the shooter left behind, said Patel, read: &#8220;Hopefully this will give ICE agents real terror, to think, &#8216;is there a sniper with AP rounds on that roof?&#8221;
Patel concluded that &#8220;further accumulated evidence to this point indicates a high degree of pre-attack planning,&#8221; promising further updates when available.&#8221;

The shooter who killed at least two detainees at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas on Wednesday left shell casings at the scene that read &#8220;ANTI ICE,&#8221; according to a photo FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X.
While an investigation into the attack is &#8220;ongoing, an initial review of the evidence shows an ideological motive behind this attack,&#8221; Patel wrote.
&#8220;These despicable, politically motivated attacks against law enforcement are not a one-off. We are only miles from Prairieland, Texas where just two months ago an individual ambushed a separate ICE facility targeting their officers,&#8221; Patel wrote.
&#8220;It has to end and the FBI and our partners will lead these investigative efforts to see to it that those who target our law enforcement are pursued and brought to the fullest extent of justice,&#8221; he added.
The shooter, who took his own life, has yet to be publicly identified. He opened fire from a nearby government building, the Dallas Police Department <a href="https://x.com/DallasPD/status/1970842592418914725" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on X.

Wednesday&#8217;s attack is just the latest in an ongoing pattern of incidents against ICE personnel in Texas and across the country.
A group of leftist anarchists clad in military-style gear threw fireworks at an ICE facility in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/11-arrested-for-plotting-ambush-to-kill-ice-corrections-officers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alvarado</a>, Texas, located just outside of Dallas, to lure officers outside before they opened fire on July 4, shooting a local police officer in the neck.
The group allegedly possessed fliers reading “FIGHT ICE TERROR WITH CLASS WAR!” and “FREE ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS,” and a flag stating, “RESIST FASCISM – FIGHT OLIGARCHY.”
In a separate incident, Bratton Dean Wilkinson, a 36-year-old American citizen, showed up at the ICE facility in <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/08/26/law-enforcement-arrests-suspect-who-made-bomb-threat-ice-dallas-facility" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dallas</a> last month and announced that he was carrying a bomb in his backpack and flashed a &#8220;detonator&#8221; on his wrist, the agency said.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt denied Monday that President Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, took a $50,000 cash bribe from FBI agents posing as businessmen.
Undercover agents attempted to sway Homan into agreeing to accept the money in exchange for help securing government contracts once President Donald Trump returned to office during a meeting in Texas on September 20, 2024, according to <a href="https://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/news/tom-homan-cash-contracts-trump-doj-investigation-rcna232568" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MSNBC</a>.
The FBI and Department of Justice then waited to see if Homan would help secure the contracts once he entered the White House, according to the news outlet. The Trump administration closed the investigation after FBI Director Kash Patel requested an update on the probe.
During Monday’s White House press briefing, Leavitt hit back at a reporter who asked if the former Immigration and Customs Enforcement chief has “to return the $50,000.”

“Mr. Homan never took the $50,000 that you’re referring to, so you should get your facts straight, number one. Number two, this was another example of the weaponization of the Biden Department of Justice against one of President Trump’s strongest and most vocal supporters in the midst of a presidential campaign,” Leavitt said.
Leavitt also asserted that the FBI agents attempted to “entrap &#8230; someone who they knew very well could be taking a government position months later.”
“Mr. Homan did absolutely nothing wrong, and even the president’s Department of Justice, even Kash Patel’s FBI looked into this just to make sure they had a number of different prosecutors and FBI agents who looked into this, they found zero evidence of illegal activity or criminal wrongdoing and the White House and the president stand by Tom Homan 100% because he did absolutely nothing wrong and he is a brave public servant who has done a phenomenal job in helping the president shut down the border,” she said.
In a statement to MSNBC, FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the probe “was subjected to a full review by FBI agents and Justice Department prosecutors” who “found no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing.”
“The Department’s resources must remain focused on real threats to the American people, not baseless investigations. As a result, the investigation has been closed,” they said.
The Biden administration launched its investigation in the summer of 2024 after the subject of a separate probe alleged that Homan was offering contracts in exchange for payments if Trump were to win the election, according to MSNBC.
A colleague introduced the undercover FBI agents to Homan, who indicated he would help them once he entered the White House, according to the report.

FBI Director Kash Patel said Sunday that the FBI would address all of the public&#8217;s lingering questions about the recent assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk when &#8220;appropriate.&#8221;
In an update, Patel said that the investigation into Kirk&#8217;s killing was ongoing and that his agency was still exploring multiple theories about the killing. He said that the FBI would “ensure every question is addressed at the appropriate moment.”
“As the Director of the FBI, I am committed to ensuring the investigation into Charlie Kirk’s assassination is thorough and exhaustive, pursuing every lead to its conclusion,” he posted on X. “The full weight of America’s law enforcement agencies are actively following the evidence that has emerged, but our efforts extend beyond initial findings. We are examining every facet of this assassination.”

Patel said his agency was investigating several key questions, including the location of the shooting, whether suspected assassin Tyler Robinson had accomplices, the authenticity of an apparent text-message confession, activity in Discord chats, how the murder weapon was transported, “hand gestures observed as potential &#8216;signals&#8217; near Charlie at the time of his assassination,” and visitors to Robinson’s home in the days leading up to the attack.
He added that some details are already known but can’t be shared while Robinson’s case is still under investigation and prosecution.
Patel addressed online claims that an airplane near the assassination site turned off its transponder shortly after Kirk was shot dead.
“Regarding specific details, such as questions about the plane that allegedly turned off its transponder after departing from an airport near the assassination site, we can share updates when answers are confirmed. After interviews with the pilot and consultation with the FAA, we determined the transponder was not turned off. Incomplete flight data in rural areas caused the apparent gap,” Patel said. 
“The entire FBI mourns the loss of Charlie Kirk. We will not rest until justice is served, and our investigation into this assassination will continue until every question is answered,” he added. 
Patel, along with other top Trump administration officials, attended a memorial service for Kirk on Sunday in Arizona, where nearly 100,000 people gathered to honor his legacy.

During a fiery showdown on Wednesday, FBI Director Kash Patel pushed back against repeated taunts from Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), declaring he would “call bulls*** on your entire career in Congress.”
Despite the fact that Patel, as FBI Director, has a massive job supervising and keeping the country safe, Swalwell began by maligning Patel because Patel said he had not read all of the voluminous Epstein files. Patel pointed out, “What I’ve been doing is been busy providing the safest country this country has seen in modern U.S. history in historic speed because the men and women of the FBI are given the resources to reduce the homicide rate, to reduce the drug trafficking rate, to reduce the amount of children that have been trafficked&#8230;”
Swalwell then obsessed on the number of times President Donald Trump’s name might have been mentioned in the Epstein files, speculating hyperbolically, starting with 1000, 500, and finally 100, which Patel denied. When Swalwell claimed that it was Patel’s job to know the exact number, Patel fired back. “My job is to provide for the safety and security of this country. My job is not to engage in political innuendo, so you can go out to the sticks and get your 20-second hits and your fundraising article,” adding, “Your fixation on this matter and baseless accusations that I’m hiding child pedo files is disgusting.”
Swalwell still wouldn’t let go of the issue, asking repeatedly if Patel had told Attorney General Pam Bondi that Trump’s name was in the Epstein files, even insulting Patel by saying each word slowly in separate syllables, as if he were speaking to a child. Patel replied, “Why don’t you try spelling it out. Use the alphabet. A B C D E F, don’t want to do it?”
“You&#8217;ve played this cute shell game where you say you can&#8217;t release everything because the court has said that it legally is not allowed to be released, but the court calls bulls***,” Swalwell accused.
Finally, Swalwell moved on, saying, “Let&#8217;s move on, director. You wrote a book called ‘Government Gangsters.’ You identified 20 individuals in that book. You put me on that list, at the top of the list. Thank you. My children find it flattering. Twenty of those individuals have been investigated or have had adverse actions. Director, considering that you have identified these people as, ‘government gangsters,’ will you recuse yourself from making any investigation decisions about these individuals?”
“Anyone that has been terminated at the FBI has been done because they failed to meet the muster and their constitutional obligation,” Patel fired back. “No, no. I&#8217;m going to borrow your terminology and call bulls*** on your entire career in Congress. It has been a disgrace to the American people.”

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) used some of his time during a Wednesday hearing to grill FBI Director Kash Patel over what the FBI is no longer doing in order to be more effective and less political.
Jordan asked Patel — who spent much of his Senate hearing on Tuesday and his House hearing on Wednesday facing off with Democrats in both chambers — a series of rapid-fire questions before giving the Director a chance to answer them. Nearly every question referenced something that the FBI had been accused of doing under former President Joe Biden.

&#8220;No one at the FBI is asked their viewpoints on politics,&#8221; said Patel.
&#8220;Is the FBI still labeling the Betsy Ross Flag, the flag of the American Revolution, a &#8216;hate symbol?'&#8221; Jordan asked one last question.
&#8220;No,&#8221; Patel responded.
&#8220;Well, maybe that&#8217;s why you&#8217;ve been able to — what was the number, 23,000 bad guys you&#8217;ve arrested? A HUGE increase from the same time period in the previous administration? I think you said 1,400 predators? 4,000 children rescued? Were those the facts?&#8221; Jordan asked.
&#8220;Forty-seven hundred. A 33% increase on children rescued,&#8221; Patel clarified.
&#8220;Yeah,&#8221; Jordan responded, noting that under Patel&#8217;s leadership, the FBI had also caught the person responsible for the Abbey Gate bombing during the previous administration&#8217;s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. &#8220;Maybe when you&#8217;re not focused on politics, you can focus on what the FBI is supposed to do — GO GET THE BAD GUYS!&#8221;

FBI Director Kash Patel went toe to toe with several Democrats during a Tuesday hearing in the House Judiciary Committee, clashing with Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) over the release of files related to the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Raskin, who led the second impeachment hearings during President Donald Trump&#8217;s first term, heavily suggested that Patel was stonewalling Democrats in their persistent efforts to make the Epstein files public — efforts in which they showed no interest while former President Joe Biden was in office — and that he was likely doing so at Trump&#8217;s request. Patel repeatedly reminded Raskin that numerous court orders prevented him from simply releasing the files.

Patel pointed to the multiple court orders and a previous agreement Epstein had reached with federal prosecutors, noting that the disgraced financier had been free for 12 years and previous administrations — including former President Barack Obama&#8217;s — had done nothing to move his case forward.
&#8220;Has anyone released more information on Epstein than I have? Did Comey? Did Wray?&#8221; Patel asked, and Raskin insisted that it wasn&#8217;t enough.
&#8220;Why don&#8217;t you just release the entire file as you promised to do?&#8221; Raskin asked.

FBI Director Kash Patel unloaded on Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) during a Tuesday hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, calling him a &#8220;political buffoon&#8221; and an &#8220;utter coward&#8221; who was fine with lying to the people as long as he could use it to keep the political donations coming in.
Schiff kicked off the heated exchange with a question about convicted sex-trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving time for her crimes related to the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, asking about the fact that she&#8217;d recently been moved to a minimum-security facility.
Patel said that the Bureau of Prisons had approved the transfer, but Schiff mentioned Maxwell&#8217;s meeting with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and argued that the timing made the move suspect. &#8220;You want the American people to believe that? Do you think they&#8217;re stupid?&#8221;
&#8220;No, I think the American people believe the truth. That I&#8217;m not in the weeds on the everyday movements of inmates,&#8221; Patel replied. &#8220;What I am doing is protecting this country, providing historic reform, and combating the weaponization of intelligence by the likes of you and we have countlessly proven you to be a liar in Russiagate, in January 6. You are the biggest fraud to ever sit in the United States Senate. You are a disgrace to this institution and an utter coward.&#8221;
Schiff attempted to shout Patel down throughout, pointing his finger and repeating, &#8220;This stinks to high heaven.&#8221;
