Entrepreneur and media personality Kevin O’Leary warned this week that if Vice President Kamala Harris wins the upcoming presidential election, she could turn into America&#8217;s version of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/justin-trudeau" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Justin Trudeau</a>.
O&#8217;Leary made the remarks during a Friday interview on NewsNation where he claimed that Harris — whom he said was the &#8220;it kid&#8221; — was a &#8220;blank sheet of paper&#8221; regarding her policy positions, despite numerous extreme left-wing positions that she held during her failed 2020 presidential campaign.
&#8220;I don’t blame her for not bringing up policy. She should just rant and rave, saying &#8216;I’m not Trump&#8217; until August 7 because she’s raising so much money,&#8221; he said. &#8220;But then, she’s got to talk policy, and I don’t know what that looks like and nobody does because she’s like a blank sheet of paper.&#8221;
He said that the last &#8220;it kid&#8221; he saw in politics was far-Left Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who has overseen the rapid decline of America&#8217;s northern neighbor.

“My friends who used to wear kippot on campus instead now wear baseball caps,” Nati Pressman, founder of the Canadian Union of Jewish Students, stated. “This is not because we are any less proud to be Jewish, but because our universities have fostered and create an environment where being openly Jewish could be a threat to our physical and emotional safety.”
“We&#8217;re not students anymore, because instead of begging for an assignment extension, we have to beg for our safety on campuses while we sit in class with the same people who praised the terrorism on October 7,” Anastasia Zorchinsky of Concordia asserted, noting that she had seen comments on her Instagram account saying, “We will find you on campus.”
Only two weeks after the Hamas massacre of over 1200 Israelis, Trudeau, who had <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trudeau-tells-palestinians-were-here-for-you">publicly criticized</a> the state of Israel and expressed sympathies for Palestinians in the past, issued a tweet saying that his government was “here” for Palestinian, Arab, and black Muslim communities.

Suggestions of treason rocked Canada last week after a report said members of its Parliament were “witting” accomplices in foreign election meddling efforts.
The National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP), composed of lawmakers given top-level security clearance to conduct a sensitive investigation into foreign influence, released a report last week suggesting that some Canadian lawmakers worked with foreign agents in potentially treasonous ways, according to <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/06/10/canada-parliament-treason-allegations-00162163" target="_blank" rel="noopener">POLITICO</a>.
The report says that the lawmakers involved are unlikely to be found guilty of a crime over what the investigation uncovered because of the difficulty of producing classified information in criminal courts for prosecution.
NSICOP <a href="https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/foreign-interference-parliamentarians-conspired-now-what-1.7228005" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found</a> that certain Canadian lawmakers were or are “‘semi-witting or witting’ participants in the efforts of foreign states to interfere in Canadian politics.” The allegations against the lawmakers include accepting financial or community support mobilized on behalf of foreign missions, providing foreign agents with information on Canadian lawmakers, and sharing privileged information with foreign agents.
“[T]he most prolific actor” among foreign influencers was China, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/08/canada-politicians-foreign-interference.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a>. India was the next most influential actor.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his government have come under heavy criticism in the wake of the report. Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, the main opposition to Trudeau, called for the unnamed lawmakers at the center of the report&#8217;s allegations to be made known to the Canadian people.
“The national security committee indicates there are members of this House that have knowingly worked for foreign hostile governments,” Poilievre said last week, according to POLITICO. “Canadians have a right to know who and what is the information — who are they?”
Government officials have resisted calls to make public the names of lawmakers facing accusations. Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc said that such a move would be irresponsible and a violation of the Security of Information Act.
“My colleague knows full well that no responsible government would disclose names involved in specific intelligence situations,&#8221; LeBlanc <a href="https://openparliament.ca/debates/2024/6/5/elizabeth-may-2/?singlepage=1">said</a> last week in response to a Conservative lawmaker. “It is not entirely accurate of him to claim that a responsible government, one that focuses on the security of Canada and our democratic institutions, would do such a thing.”

Canadian Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s arch-foe, gave his usual articulate common-sense answer and cogent criticism of Trudeau when a questioner asked him about the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation saying the country needs 5.8 million homes to address its housing crisis.
The questioner said Trudeau’s Liberal Party has claimed that it already has that in the budget and that Poilievre disagreed.
“I don’t disagree; the math disagrees,” Poilievre stated bluntly. “They promised they’re going to double homebuilding. Their own housing agency said since they made that promise, homebuilding has gone down and that it will go down next year and the year after that. Look at my exchange with Trudeau in the House of Commons last week. To get to 3.9 million — forget to 5.9 million — to get to 3.9 million new homes by the scheduled deadline of 2031 that Trudeau promised, he needs to build 550,000 homes a year.”
“I asked him six times in the House of Commons, ‘Are we going to build 550,000 homes this year?’” Poilievre recalled. “He wouldn’t answer. Well, the truth is, he’s on track right now to building about 200,000 homes, not even half of what he’s promised. This is not a matter of me disagreeing; it’s a mathematical fact. He’s not delivering. It’s a mathematical fact that nine years ago when I was Housing Minister, the average rent for a one-bedroom was $973. Now it’s $2,000. These are the facts.”
“Has he spent a lot of money on housing programs? Yes,” Poilievre acknowledged, but pointed out, “He spent $89 billion on housing affordability and the result is that housing costs have doubled. The problem is he’s putting the money into bureaucracy. Government bureaucrats don’t build homes; private sector builders do. Government bureaucrats are in the way. So we need to get the government bureaucracy out of the way and deliver fast, affordable permits to build the homes.”
He got down to bare facts: “One-third of the cost of every newly-built home in Ontario is government permits and taxes. One-third. That’s more than we spend on the labor to build the home. So we’re spending more on the bureaucrats, who don’t build anything, than we do on the carpenters, framers, plumbers, and electricians who build. Isn’t that insane?”
“Like when you buy a house, do you not find it incredible — you have this beautiful house and you say, &#8216;well, where did the money [go]?&#8217;” he said. “I’m buying the house, now say it’s a million dollars. What does the million dollars go to? You know, you break it down: lumber, materials. You think: More money goes to people sitting in government offices than goes to the people swinging the hammers, fitting the pipes, framing the lumber. It doesn’t make sense.”

We’re going to pay our municipalities the way we pay realtors and builders: for the number of homes.”

Canadian Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre was booted from the House of Commons for the day on Tuesday after a heated exchange where he refused the House Speaker&#8217;s request that he remove from the record his comment calling Prime Minister <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/justin-trudeau" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Justin Trudeau</a> a &#8220;wacko&#8221; and &#8220;extremist.&#8221;
During a question period in the House of Commons, Poilievre described the government&#8217;s drug policy as a &#8220;wacko policy [pushed] by this wacko prime minister&#8221; to the applause of his conservative colleagues. Speaker Greg Fergus of the Liberal Party, however, took exception to Poilievre&#8217;s remark and asked him to withdraw it because it was &#8220;unparliamentary language.&#8221;
&#8220;There are a couple of things that are going on here today that are not acceptable,&#8221; Fergus said. &#8220;And I ask all members, please, to control themselves.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m going to ask the honorable leader of the opposition to withdraw that term which is not considered parliamentary,&#8221; he added.
Poilievre responded, saying he would replace &#8220;wacko with extremist,&#8221; but the Liberal speaker did not accept the Conservative leader&#8217;s suggestion, again asking Poilievre &#8220;to just withdraw that comment.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;ll replace it with radical,&#8221; Poilievre said.

After Poilievre was removed, the Conservative Party caucus also left the House en masse, CBC <a href="https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/poilievre-trudeau-whacko-1.7189600" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The Conservative Party leader posted on X following his removal and again called Trudeau a &#8220;wacko&#8221; prime minister.

Earlier in the day, Trudeau called Poilievre a &#8220;spineless&#8221; leader who is &#8220;pandering&#8221; to &#8220;white nationalists,&#8221; arguing that he is attempting to &#8220;earn votes through personal attacks,&#8221; according to the <a href="https://www.thestar.com/politics/federal/pierre-poilievre-ejected-from-house-of-commons-after-calling-justin-trudeau-a-wacko/article_4aad5cf6-0721-11ef-bc77-0f495ff15fda.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Toronto Star</a>. A secret report by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) warns that Canada’s economic future is bleak and that young people are going to be profoundly affected by it.
The document, titled “Whole-of-Government Five-Year Trends for Canada,” is <a href="https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/24512494-rcmp-whole-of-government-five-year-trends-for-canada">heavily redacted</a> and largely focuses on the effects of climate change. However, it also predicts major economic trouble for Canada in the years to come, noting, “In the words of Emmanuel Macron, we are about to see ‘the end of abundance.’ Economic forecasts for the next five years and beyond are bleak. It is always unclear exactly how economies will perform, but this period of recession will likely have a negative impact on the social and political world as well. The coming period of recession will accelerate the decline in living standards that the younger generations have already witnessed compared to earlier generations. For example, many Canadians under 35 are unlikely ever to be able to buy a place to live. The fallout from this decline in living standards will be exacerbated by the fact that the difference between the extremes of wealth is greater now than it has been at any time in several generations.”

A new poll out of Canada found that if national elections were currently held, a political thunderquake would shake the nation, with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party thrown out of power and the Conservative Party, led by Pierre Poilievre, completely dominating the Canadian Parliament.
Abacus Data, one of the country’s most accurate pollsters, <a href="https://abacusdata.ca/conservative-party-leads-by-17-over-liberals/">surveyed</a> over 3,500 adults between March 16 and March 24, and found that 41% of committed voters would vote for the Conservative party, 23% would vote for the Liberal party, 19% would vote for the New Democratic Party, and 4% would vote for the Green Party.
“Since the beginning of the year, we have seen stability in vote intentions with the Conservatives consistently in the low 40s and the Liberals stuck in the low to mid 20s,” Abacus reported. The survey found that the Conservatives led with all age groups across the country; interestingly, the Liberal vote rose as the age of voters rose, implying young people are more inclined to see the error of Trudeau’s ways. Only one in four voters thought Canada was headed in the right direction.
59% of voters disapproved of the job Trudeau is doing as prime minister. 58% of voters had a negative impression of Trudeau with only 24% having a positive view, leaving him 34 points underwater, while 38% had a positive view of Poilievre and 34% had a negative impression, leaving him four points to the good. Only a paltry 15% of voters thought Trudeau and his party should be reelected. 52% of voters thought it was time for a change.
61% of voters thought Trudeau was focused on the wrong priorities; 48% thought him ineffective, and 53% thought he was not transparent about his actions.
The poll also discovered that Conservative voters were more likely to vote than Liberal or NDP supporters. A near majority of voters, 46%, thought Conservatives would win the next election; only 21% thought the Liberals would win.
“In evaluating the Trudeau government, Canadians expressed concerns about its focus and effectiveness, with a majority viewing the government as distracted, focused on the wrong priorities, and closed. These perceptions are closely tied to vote intention, suggesting any path back to competitiveness for the Liberals will require it to address these public perceptions,” stated Abacus Data CEO David Coletto.

The Canadian government, led by leftist Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, will stop future arms exports to Israel.
The motion passed by Canada’s House of Commons said the country would “cease the further authorization and transfer of arms exports to Israel to ensure compliance with Canada&#8217;s arms export regime and increase efforts to stop the illegal trade of arms, including to Hamas.&#8221; It passed in a 204-117 vote.
&#8220;It is a real thing,&#8221; Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly said of the resolution, which was originally introduced by the leftist New Democratic Party (NDP) headed by Jagmeet Singh. 
“The fundamental changes that we want were to make sure that there was an end of the sale of arms to Israel. That is not something that Canada has ever said before,&#8221; Singh said before the vote was taken.
Much of the military materiel shipped by Canada to Israel is modified in Israel and then returned to Canada for that country’s military or Canada’s military allies, <a href="https://www.thestar.com/politics/federal/trudeau-government-to-stop-sending-arms-to-israel-once-details-are-worked-out-foreign-affairs/article_da41c41c-e60e-11ee-8cb4-874d0836cd34.html">The Toronto Star</a> noted. That materiel, which comprises nearly 70% of Canada’s recent military exports to the Jewish state, is not expected to be affected, meaning Canada still benefits from Israeli know-how.
After the vote was taken, Trudeau spoke to Benny Gantz, a leader in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s war cabinet, and &#8220;reiterated his concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the humanitarian implications for Israel’s planned military offensive in the city of Rafah,” the Star reported.
Canada’s move to halt arms transfers would “actually weaken our possibility to defend ourselves against terrorism of Hamas. That is exactly what it would entail,” Iddo Moed, Israeli Ambassador to Canada, stated. 
&#8220;We feel the whole motivation behind the motion was to increase pressure on Israel. It&#8217;s not about releasing the hostages. It&#8217;s not about Hamas laying down their weapons. The international reputation of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/canada" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Canada</a> as the politically laid-back, unpretentious neighbor state to the polarized United States has become laughably anachronistic over the past few years. From passing bills to <a href="https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/trudeau-s-party-passes-bill-to-regulate-social-media-streaming-1.1620141" target="_blank" rel="noopener">regulate</a> the internet, <a href="https://greenwald.substack.com/p/letter-from-a-young-canadian-authoritarianism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">freezing</a> bank accounts of those who donated to the trucker convoy, to <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/05/21/how-canada-went-from-liberal-democracy-to-authoritarian-state/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">barring</a> unvaccinated citizens from boarding an airplane (or otherwise leaving the country) — Canada has descended into a spiraling authoritarian state that has caught many by surprise.
In 2023, this shift took a sharp turn towards even more free speech attacks and legislative disasters.
Just before the end of the year, Canada hit a new low for freedom of political expression as an Ottawa judge <a href="https://www.westernstandard.news/news/ottawa-judge-rules-book-critical-of-trudeau-illegal/51330" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ruled</a> that the conservative commentator Ezra Levant’s anti-Trudeau book promotion during a previous federal election was illegal. “I am the only person in history they are targeting for writing an election book during an election,” Levant writes. Levant is now fined $13,000 and threatened with potential criminal prosecution should he write and promote another political book in the next election.
Yes, this is Canada — not Cambodia (where the police <a href="https://maajidnawaz.substack.com/p/journalists-arrested-around-the-world" target="_blank" rel="noopener">arrest</a> reporters for quoting politicians).

From prosecuting lockdown-violating pastors to rejecting employment to unvaccinated nurses, this is the new norm in Canada’s social justice kangaroo courts.
The most dramatic shift in Canadians’ lives in 2023 as a result of government failure comes from <a href="https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/understanding-bill-c-18-canada-s-online-news-act-and-its-proposed-rules-explained-1.6488532" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bill C-18</a>, which mandated social media companies compensate Canadian media outlets for distributing their content. Twitter and Facebook warned beforehand they would not be able to comply with a <a href="https://www.michaelgeist.ca/2023/09/a-4-link-tax-why-the-governments-draft-bill-c-18-regulations-just-increased-the-chances-of-no-news-on-meta-and-google-in-canada/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">4% link fee</a> for a number of technical, pragmatic reasons — also stating that their platforms helped generate traffic to these sites — but the Trudeau government pushed it anyway. The unsettling result: Canadians can <a href="https://www.michaelgeist.ca/2023/08/why-is-meta-blocking-all-news-links-because-bill-c-18-covers-all-news-outlets/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">no longer access</a> any news articles, videos, or event accounts of media outlets and newspapers on Meta.

This has been a complete disaster leading to independent media outlets losing significant traffic and millions of dollars in revenue. On the consumer side, many users, especially my peer Zoomers, stay at least minimally informed with local and international affairs by scrolling through their Instagram feed, but that is now all gone.
What implications will this have for future voting outcomes and the political climate, more broadly?
All of this could have been averted if the government hadn’t spread its tentacles far and wide across online sectors, attempting to regulate and engineer a more “equitable” online world (though one where CBC profits the most).
Worst yet, the government <a href="https://www.canada.ca/en/radio-television-telecommunications/news/2023/09/crtc-takes-major-step-forward-to-modernize-canadas-broadcasting-framework.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> a new mandate requiring podcast platforms to officially register with the federal government. The motivation of “promoting Canadian content” for the expansion of online regulation may fool the naive, but the <a href="https://www.illusionconsensus.com/p/why-canadas-new-regulations-for-podcast" target="_blank" rel="noopener">guidelines</a> of the anointed government agency (the CRTC) include the preferential boosting of “racialized communities and Canadians of diverse ethnocultural backgrounds.” It’s easy to imagine what that may look like. Minorities who abide by the regime may be government-boosted but what about black, vaccine-hesitant Covid dissidents? Or Muslim parents vocally opposed to the imposition of gender ideology in kindergarten class?
<h4>Indigenous Graves</h4>
This year has also revealed the biggest media scandal in recent Canadian history. After two years of fear-mongering about <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/canadas-mass-graves-narrative-that-sparked-church-burnings-crumbles-amid-dearth-of-evidence" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mass graves of Indigenous children</a> at a number of residential schools, nothing has been found in a recent <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/08/31/still-no-evidence-of-mass-graves-of-indigenous-children-in-canada/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">formalized excavation</a>. The claim originated from a First Nations group’s <a href="https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/tk-eml%C3%BAps-te-secw%C3%A9pemc-215-children-former-kamloops-indian-residential-school-1.6043778?ref=quillette.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discovery</a> of “anomalies” in the soil at residential schools using “ground-penetrating radar.” Some independent voices at the time expressed caution, but leading media channels rushed to judgment and wrongly asserted dispositive evidence of human remains. The New York Times published multiple pieces with outright falsehoods, such as an <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/07/world/canada/mass-graves-residential-schools.html?ref=quillette.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> by veteran reporter Ian Austen stating, “the remains of more than 1,000 people, mostly children, have been discovered on the grounds of three former residential schools in two Canadian provinces since May.” This was false then and it is embarrassingly false now. The Times has yet to correct its many factual errors in its coverage of this issue.
Liberal media outlets have a way in which to completely detract from real issues such as the generational poverty, mental health crisis, and neglect in Canadian Aboriginal communities. Instead, we are now focusing on the non-existence of media-hyped Indigenous children’s human remains. Really?
On the culture-war front, this past month we saw a few disorienting clashes on Canadian grounds between “minority” groups who — surprise, surprise — often have diametrically opposing views on fundamental ethical issues. One incident in particular is enough to make an intersectional, blue-haired resistance liberal faint from cognitive paralysis. At a Muslim-led <a href="https://millionmarch4children.squarespace.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">1 Million March 4 Children protest</a> — aimed at pushing back against radical gender ideology being taught in schools — one Muslim boy gets up on stage and <a href="https://x.com/MourraMahmoud/status/1706805729473273866?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a>, gay people are “disgusting” and “psychopaths.”
This video contains multitudes. On one level, this clip exposes everything wrong with social media soundbites used to advance political narratives. The full video <a href="https://twitter.com/MourraMahmoud/status/1706805729473273866?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">segment</a> includes the boy’s father correcting him, saying gay people are human too and deserve our love and respect, but the <a href="https://x.com/atRachelGilmore/status/1706770791541436443?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">viral clip</a> used by leading progressive journalists conveniently didn’t include that portion. Much more interestingly, you saw the <a href="https://www.macnet.ca/2023/official-statements/joint-statement-sept18/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Muslim Association of Canada</a> supporting the national anti-2SLGBTQ+ protests and calling out the prime minister’s attacks against the movement as hateful. This is amusingly ironic as Trudeau’s messaging a few years ago — before the school indoctrination tensions kicked into full gear — was clearly catered to win the sympathies of Muslim migrants. Now, many of those people are calling out his bulls***. As it turns out, appeasing all identity groups — many of whom have nothing in common except for how elite white people perceive them — is practically impossible and Canada is learning that the hard way.
<h4>Racial Segregation</h4>
Lastly, is another hot culture-war story — now pertaining to race — of controversial <a href="https://twitter.com/RobFai/status/1706097713698464133/photo/1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posters</a> found in Metro Vancouver advertising a mom-and-toddler group for “whites-only.” &#8220;It seeks to provide “proud parents of European children” a place to “escape forced ‘diversity’” where their “kids can feel like they belong. The controversy prompted a national outcry and law enforcement has now <a href="https://bc.ctvnews.ca/poster-advertising-whites-only-children-s-playtime-sparks-outrage-in-b-c-community-1.6576911" target="_blank" rel="noopener">launched</a> an investigation to see if there is any “criminality involved.” Needless to say, there is no defense for congregating white children and their mothers as an escape from ethnic minorities. Anyone who publicly says otherwise will have their career and livelihood destroyed in the blink of an eye. Yes, it’s 2023 — not 1985. But, here’s a revealing question: replace the “whites-only” label in the poster to “people-of-color-only” and ask yourself, would that generate even one crumble of controversy?
I’m sorry, but the city mayor Brad West would not <a href="https://bc.ctvnews.ca/poster-advertising-whites-only-children-s-playtime-sparks-outrage-in-b-c-community-1.6576911" target="_blank" rel="noopener">condemn</a> it as “vile garbage” which &#8216;“isn’t welcome in our community, or anywhere else.” Ethnic-exclusive spaces exist in every liberal, metropolitan city, from <a href="https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/mcmaster-university-black-graduation-1.6490211" target="_blank" rel="noopener">black graduation ceremonies</a>, <a href="https://www.dharma.org/retreats/519" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“people of color” meditation retreats</a>, <a href="https://www.upbeacon.com/article/2019/11/women-of-color-club-makes-waves-on-campus" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“women of color” clubs on campus</a>, and — wait for it — yes, <a href="https://www.meetup.com/black-moms-social-club/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mom and child groups</a> for black Canadians only.
If you search “people of color” followed by the first activity or event that (cooking, sports, education, music) enters your mind, there’s a good chance it exists — and nakedly thrives at a powerful liberal institution near you. This is where our society is: racial segregation for all minority groups is loudly celebrated, but the same action by European “white” groups is a monstrous evil. Hopefully, this all goes into extinction when “people of color” turn into the majority in a couple of decades, thereby shattering any progressive justifications for “oppressed” ethnic groups needing their own sheltered islands in notoriously alt-right havens such as downtown Toronto or North Vancouver.
The social fabric of Canada has deteriorated as much as its constitutional commitment to freedom. COVID lockdowns and vaccine mandates were the most striking infringements on civil liberties, but the media-supported normalization and political justifications of such measures paved the way for further censorious attacks in 2023. As the culture war embroiled, Canadians’ access to online information radically changed with much uncertainty about the future of the last remaining pillars of our “free” media: podcasts.
In its sustained paradoxical outlook, the more chill, less politically polarized caricature of Canadian life continues to shatter to the point of absurdity. Immigrants from Canada like myself (Indian-born) now seriously begin to wonder whether the unparalleled freedom we were once promised was just an imminently combustible illusion we fell victim to.
Oh, Canada.

Men&#8217;s bathrooms in Canada&#8217;s Parliament will be stocked with tampons and other feminine hygiene products — at no cost to those who choose to take them — thanks to a new policy championed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The new policy, according to a <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/12/26/news/tampons-now-offered-in-canadian-parliament-mens-bathrooms/?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=nypost&amp;utm_medium=social" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> published by The New York Post on Tuesday, extends to &#8220;all federal workplaces&#8221; — from military installations and government offices to airports — and mandates that feminine hygiene products be made available in every restroom, regardless of the gender symbol on the door.
Former Canadian Sen. Linda Frum, a conservative, shared a photo of the products on her X account, along with the comment, &#8220;Back in the day, when only women menstruated we had to pay for our own products. But now that men menstruate too, these products, as of this week, are mandated to be free in all Men’s washrooms in all federal workplaces including Parliament Hill —where this photo was taken today.&#8221;

Another account, @HoCStaffer, confirmed the news and shared a photo of the <a href="https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/health-safety/reports/employer-requirements-workplace-menstrual-products.html#h2.02">prescribed policy</a>, which identified menstrual products as a &#8220;basic necessity&#8221; and suggested that providing such products for free would &#8220;reduce the stigma often associated with menstruation.&#8221;

The stated reason for the policy was to &#8220;create healthier and more inclusive workplaces for employees who menstruate&#8221; and to ensure that &#8220;employees feel safe to use the washroom that best reflects their gender,&#8221; and was supposed to be fully implemented as of December 15, 2023.

After Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau criticized Israel for its efforts to target Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, underneath which reportedly lies a command headquarters of the terrorist group Hamas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired back hard, pointing out the atrocities of Hamas and the care Israel has taken to try to keep Palestinian citizens out of harm’s way.
“The human tragedy that is unfolding in Gaza is heartwrenching, especially the suffering we see in and around Al-Shifa hospital,” Trudeau said, ignoring reports, including from the Biden administration, that Hamas has located their headquarters under the hospital in violation of international law.
“I have been clear that the price of justice cannot be the continued suffering of all Palestinian civilians,&#8221; Trudeau continued. “Even wars have rules; all innocent life is equal in worth, Israeli and Palestinian. I urge the government of Israel to exercise maximum restraint. The world is watching on TV, on social media; we’re hearing the testimonies of doctors, family members, survivors, kids who’ve lost their parents. The world is witnessing this; the killing of women, children, of babies. This has to stop.”
The Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2015/10/08/was-the-attack-on-the-kunduz-hospital-a-war-crime/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">explains</a> concerning international humanitarian laws, “Using a hospital for military activities, personnel or equipment is prohibited. However, when a hospital is used for military purposes, it loses its protection from attack and can become a lawful military objective.”
The Biden administration has publicly confirmed U.S. intelligence reports that Hamas is using the Al-Shifa hospital as cover for its terror operation, including installing a &#8220;command node&#8221; under the hospital.
“We have information that Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad use some hospitals in the Gaza Strip, including Al-Shifa, and tunnels underneath them to conceal and to support their military operations and to hold hostages,” National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby <a href="https://www.wpr.org/israel-says-its-troops-have-entered-al-shifa-hospital-gaza-city" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> this week. “A U.S. official with knowledge of American intelligence says Hamas has a command node under the Al-Shifa hospital, uses fuel intended for it and its fighters regularly cluster in and around Gaza’s largest hospital,” CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/13/politics/al-shifa-hospital-us-intelligence/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> on Monday.
Netanyahu responded Tuesday to Trudeau&#8217;s criticism of Israel&#8217;s handling of the war against the terror group.
“It is not Israel that is deliberately targeting civilians but Hamas that beheaded, burned and massacred civilians in the worst horrors perpetrated on Jews since the Holocaust,” Netanyahu retorted. “While Israel is doing everything to keep civilians out of harm’s way, Hamas is doing everything to keep them in harm’s way. Israel provides civilians in Gaza humanitarian corridors and safe zones, Hamas prevents them from leaving at gunpoint. It is Hamas not Israel that should be held accountable for committing a double war crime — targeting civilians while hiding behind civilians. The forces of civilization must back Israel in defeating Hamas barbarism.”

In May 2018, Hamas in Gaza organized protests in which they had a multitude of their members demonstrating at the border in order to initiate conflict with Israel, likely so that Hamas members could ultimately infiltrate Israel and implement terrorist attacks. Hamas <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/hamas-official-50-of-the-people-killed-in-gaza-riots-were-members/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">later admitted</a> that 50 of the 62 Palestinians reported killed during the Gaza border riots were members of the Islamist terrorist group.
After the cynically manipulated event caused international outrage against Israel, Yoram Schweitzer, an expert on international terrorism, wrote in the <a href="https://www.jpost.com/Arab-Israeli-Conflict/Hamas-planned-and-predetermined-the-tragedy-in-Gaza-557708" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jerusalem Post:</a>

The preaching and shock in the international media are accompanied by horrifying images framed under misleading headlines. Such images create a partial reality, ignoring the reality outside the focused frame as well as the wider context. But Trudeau issued a <a href="https://pm.gc.ca/eng/news/2018/05/16/statement-prime-minister-violence-gaza-strip" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> condemning Israel:

Trudeau was <a href="http://www.cjnews.com/news/canada/justin-trudeau-under-fire-for-gaza-comments-cija-fswc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">slammed</a> by the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), which launched a <a href="http://cija.ca/gaza/">petition</a> demanding the Canadian government reiterate its previous condemnation of Hamas as a terrorist organization, which Trudeau refused to do.

Recent comments from California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom surfaced online showing him defending San Francisco for clearing out areas of the city occupied by homeless camps and public drug markets before world leaders — including China&#8217;s President Xi Jinping — arrived for an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/san-francisco-clears-homeless-camps-ahead-of-international-summit" target="_blank" rel="noopener">international economic summit</a> this week.
&#8220;Anytime you put on an event — by definition — you know you have people over at your house, you&#8217;re gonna clean up the house,&#8221; Newsom <a href="https://twitter.com/EndWokeness/status/1724139320930402321" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> reporters during the &#8216;Clean California&#8217; event in San Francisco on November 9.
APEC, known as the &#8220;Super Bowl of World Economies,&#8221; is holding its 2023 leaders meeting in San Francisco between November 11 and 17 this year. The summit includes leaders of 21 countries and regions, including President Joe Biden, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and top CEOS amid tens of thousands of other attendees.
&#8220;21 world leaders &#8230; you got tens of thousands of people coming from all around the globe,&#8221; he added. &#8220;What an opportunity to showcase the world&#8217;s most extraordinary place — San Francisco.&#8221;

San Francisco has been in the throes of a homelessness and drug crisis that has come with rampant crime for years now while the city consistently struggles to make a dent in the humanitarian crisis unfolding daily on the streets.
Homelessness has only gotten worse since before the pandemic. About 38,000 people are homeless in the Bay Area on a given night — that&#8217;s up 35% since 2019. More than 7,000 people are homeless in San Francisco itself, and the city&#8217;s crime rate and open-air drug use have caused businesses to flee San Francisco&#8217;s downtown.
Although overall crime slightly dropped this year, certain types of violent crime like murder, robberies, and car theft have increased, according to police data <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/san-francisco-hires-new-tourism-boss-who-says-hell-change-ongoing-narrative-as-city-battles-drug-use-homelessness" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> by The Daily Wire in September.
According to a Gallup poll, nearly half of Americans — 48% —now view San Francisco as unsafe, up from just 30% in 2006.
But despite those figures, San Francisco became the host city for APEC 2023, which the city&#8217;s <a href="https://sf.gov/apec-2023#:~:text=Asia%2DPacific%20Economic%20Cooperation%20(APEC)%20is%20the%20leading%20economic,United%20States%20is%20chairing%20APEC." target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a> described as &#8220;the most significant event with world leaders in San Francisco in recent history.&#8221;
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the city&#8217;s effort to clear the encampments is an attempt to avoid a repeat of 2016, when it hosted Superbowl 50 at Levi&#8217;s Stadium in the San Francisco Bay Area. Aside from airing the game, the outlet noted that TV broadcasts had focused on the city&#8217;s homeless crisis along Division Street, which presented &#8220;a major civic black eye&#8221; for the Bay Area.
Internal emails obtained by The Chronicle show city officials were &#8220;concerned about historical encampments that are close to priority areas&#8221; and needed to format a plan to &#8220;stay on top of the growing encampments.&#8221;
Several videos circulating on social media appear to show various sidewalks cleared of homeless encampments and individuals, with some portions blocked off with barricades or covered with brand-new planters where tents had once stood.
According to local media, a federal injunction requires the city to provide adequate shelter for homeless individuals after removing their tents from public areas. Although the city did not set up new shelters specifically for individuals impacted by the international summit, it opened a 30-spot overnight winter shelter and has been working on adding 300 beds to some of the existing shelters.
Newsom also said last week that &#8220;it&#8217;s true&#8221; that city officials removed homeless encampments from sidewalks because of the international summit.
&#8220;I know folks are saying, &#8216;Oh, they&#8217;re just cleaning up this place because all those fancy leaders are coming to town,'&#8221; California Gov. Gavin Newsom said Friday, as reported by Fox News. &#8220;That&#8217;s true because it&#8217;s true — but it&#8217;s also true for months and months and months before APEC, we&#8217;ve been having conversations.&#8221;
