Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said during an interview this week that &#8220;proud Canadians&#8221; specifically find their identities in &#8220;not&#8221; being an American.
Trudeau — who announced he was resigning as the leader of the Liberal Party, thus bringing his tenure as prime minister to a close in the coming months — made the remarks during a CNN interview on Tuesday afternoon.
CNN&#8217;s Jake Tapper asked Trudeau about President-elect Donald Trump mocking him as the &#8220;governor&#8221; of Canada and saying that Canada should become America&#8217;s 51st state.
&#8220;Did you have any interaction with him today?&#8221; Tapper asked.

&#8220;No, not today, but that&#8217;s not going to happen,&#8221; Trudeau said. &#8220;Canadians are incredibly proud of being Canadian. One of the ways we define ourselves most easily is, well, we&#8217;re not American.&#8221;
&#8220;There is such a depth of pride that that&#8217;s not actually an issue,&#8221; he said. &#8220;What I think is happening in this is President Trump, who&#8217;s a very skillful negotiator, is getting people to be somewhat distracted by that conversation, to take away from the conversation around 25% tariffs on oil and gas and electricity and steel and aluminum and lumber and concrete, and everything the American consumers buy from Canada is suddenly going to get a lot more expensive if he moves forward on these tariffs.&#8221;

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that he is stepping down after nearly 10 years in power.
Trudeau quickly made a name for himself after taking over in 2015 and became a worldwide embarrassment for the male sex as he frolicked around Ottawa. Trudeau will mostly be remembered for opposing Canadian truckers in 2022 – who wanted the basic human freedom to make their own medical decisions – and for caving to Left-wing lunatics who push <a href="https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-responds-danielle-smith-trans-policies-1.7103250" target="_blank" rel="noopener">transgenderism</a> on children and <a href="https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-medical-assistance-dying-euthanasia-1.5307408" target="_blank" rel="noopener">euthanasia</a> on the disabled and depressed. But that wasn’t the only way Trudeau undermined masculinity with ineffectual leadership.  
Justin Trudeau was a “leader” who encapsulated the spirit of the woke age. 
In 2016, shortly after he took over as prime minister, Trudeau <a href="https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-transgender-rights-1.3584482" target="_blank" rel="noopener">made</a> “gender identity” a protected class under the country’s discrimination and hate speech laws, a major step that led to Canada <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/canadian-father-jailed-after-misgendering-daughter-lands-win-in-appeal-court" target="_blank" rel="noopener">jailing</a> a father who “misgendered” his daughter. 
Trudeau also failed to stand up for the dignity and respect of Canadian women when, in 2023, he declared that men can be women if they want to be. In a <a href="https://x.com/JustinTrudeau/status/1633468195813330946">post</a> celebrating “incredible girls and women in our lives,” Trudeau claimed that women aren’t really that special at all because dudes are actually women too. 
“When women and girls are empowered, entire families, communities, and societies succeed. So today, as we mark #IWD2023 and celebrate the incredible women and girls in our lives, let’s keep working to build a more equal and equitable future. And with a disturbing rise in anti-transgender hate here in Canada and around the world recently, I want to be very clear about one more thing: Trans women are women. We will always stand up to this hate – whenever and wherever it occurs,” he wrote on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/JustinPJTrudeau/posts/when-women-and-girls-are-empowered-entire-families-communities-and-societies-suc/759160075566385/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">social media</a>.

Canada’s Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre on Tuesday blasted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s defense against President-elect Donald Trump&#8217;s taunts of Canada becoming the United States’ “51st State.”
Trump has repeatedly <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/113782682597333035">hounded</a> Trudeau even as the struggling prime minister’s popularity has plummeted in Canada. The president-elect’s taunts came after weeks of threatening Canada with 25% tariffs and a demand to secure its border and stop illegal immigration into the United States.
Poilievre is the favorite to replace Trudeau as prime minister as soon as new parliamentary elections can be held. The Conservative Party leader in a statement Tuesday defended Canada against Trump’s calls to join the United States while simultaneously attacking Trudeau’s government and party for its feeble response.
“Canada will never be the 51st state. Period,” Poilievre said in a post on X. “We are a great and independent country.”

Poilievre summarized what his agenda would be as prime minister, promising to build up Canada’s military and strengthen its borders and immigration policies. He also promised to cut taxes and regulations and support economic development.
“In other words, we will put Canada First,” Poilievre said.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) currently projects that the Conservative Party will win 227 of 338 total seats in the House of Commons. CBC projections show Conservatives with a 98% chance of winning a majority.

“O Canada, he’s not part of a team,” he sings, as he includes hockey terms like how Trudeau never “ate a puck” or performed “a Gordie Howe Hat Trick.”
The song ends with the line, “Justin Trudeau has got to go. Get someone who played hockey.”
Speaking to The Daily Wire about the new song, Ondrasik released a statement that read, “When Trudeau said he would arrest Bibi [Netanyahu] if he came to Canada, it was time he got his song. Playing hockey should be a requirement for any Prime Minister whether he’s related to Castro or not.&#8221;

Right now, we are watching an international wave of conservative victory. It’s happening across the world. Part of this wave is a result of President Trump. Part of it just includes President Trump.
Justin Trudeau is now likely to resign. His liberal government has now crumbled, largely because of a tweetstorm initiated by President Trump on Truth Social mocking Trudeau as the governor of the 51st state and also suggesting he&#8217;s going to tariff the living hell out of Canada if he, Trudeau, does not give in on some trade deals.
An article in the UK Daily Mail reported on this, <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14199087/Justin-Trudeau-brink-resigning-liberal-government-collapses-canada.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">writing</a>:
<blockquote>Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is on the brink of resigning as his liberal government crumbles around him, according to CTV News.
Trudeau, 52, is &#8216;considering his options as leader&#8217;, sources have told the broadcaster, while his Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland revealed she will quit.
Freeland quit on Monday after clashing with Trudeau on issues including how to handle possible U.S. tariffs, dealing a huge blow to an already unpopular government.
In a stinging resignation letter, Freeland dismissed Trudeau&#8217;s push for increased spending as a political gimmick that could hurt Ottawa&#8217;s ability to deal with the 25 percent import tariffs U.S. President-elect Donald Trump says he will impose.
The resignation by Freeland, 56, who also served as deputy prime minister, is one of the biggest crises Trudeau has faced since taking power in November 2015. 
It also leaves him without a key ally when he is on track to lose the next election to the official opposition Conservatives.
Trudeau quickly came under pressure to go from the New Democrats, the smaller opposition party which earlier this year pulled its unconditional support of the minority Liberal government but has continued to back the prime minister on some legislation through parliament.
&#8216;I&#8217;m calling on Justin Trudeau to resign. He has to go,&#8217; party leader Jagmeet Singh told reporters.</blockquote>
This does not mean a new election will be held immediately. Pierre Poilievre, the leader of the Conservative Party — who would skunk the entire Liberal Party in the next election — is, of course, looking for a new election. He should be because Trudeau’s Left-wing agenda has become unbelievably unpopular in Canada.

He has called on Trudeau to resign, saying yesterday:
<blockquote>Mr. Trudeau is being held in office by one man, Jagmeet Singh. A fifth of Liberal MPs have written a letter for him to resign. His Deputy Prime Minister has walked out on him. His Housing Minister has quit — that on top of numerous other female ministers who stormed out after his appalling mistreatment and abuse and dishonesty towards them. Eighty percent of Canadians have lost confidence in this Prime Minister. So why is Jagmeet Singh making the entire country wait for him to get his pension? That is the question today.</blockquote>
The real reason these other parties aren&#8217;t voting for a snap election is because they&#8217;re afraid all of the losses to Trudeau would accrue to Poilievre. So, right now, the Canadian government is basically on the brink.
Because Canada is a coalitional system, they require a majority of the Canadian parliament to vote for a motion of no confidence in order to bring down the government. But right now, the Canadian parliament is split between a wide variety of parties. The Left-wing parties have been hesitant to call a new election because they will not do better in a new election, and Poilievre will become prime minister — probably with a sheer majority of votes in Parliament. That is all that is holding Trudeau in office at this point.
The reason he is unpopular is because he has pursued every bad policy possible to pursue. In fact, this little rebellion inside his own party has been instigated by the fact he wants to spend, spend, and spend. He wants to create a massive budget deficit in order to address the fact that he is about to be hit with Trump&#8217;s tariffs.
But this is not just happening in Canada. It is also happening in Germany. The Wall Street Journal has <a href="https://www.wsj.com/world/europe/germany-heads-toward-early-elections-after-scholz-loses-confidence-vote-093b3196?mod=hp_lista_pos1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Germany is headed to an early election, writing:
<blockquote>Embattled German Chancellor Olaf Scholz lost a confidence vote on Monday, the first step in a sequence of events that will lead to early elections next year—and the latest symptom of mounting political instability in Europe.
Monday’s vote came after the dramatic collapse of Scholz’s strife-ridden coalition government last month, which added a political crisis to the economic slump that has gripped the country for the past two years. 
Without a majority in Parliament, Scholz called a confidence vote—which he fully expected to lose—to clear the way for the dissolution of Parliament and a new vote, now expected in February. Germany’s post-World War II constitution instituted a multistep process for early elections in an attempt to prevent the endemic political instability.</blockquote>
However, if there were to be a new election, Friedrich Merz would likely take over. Merz is a center-Right politician who is very pro-America. Scholz is a center-Left politician. Merz is a representative of the same party as Angela Merkel, who was Chancellor of Germany from 2005-2021. However, Merz hated Merkel&#8217;s immigration policy, which condemned the center-Right to a decade of wilderness.
The Journal goes on, writing:
<blockquote>Opinion polls show the center-right Christian Democratic Union, led by veteran conservative politician and businessman Friedrich Merz, as the likely winner of the ballot on Feb. 23. Yet the party is unlikely to command a big enough majority to govern alone or with the FDP, the other center-right party in Parliament, and will likely need to form an alliance with one or several center-left parties, forcing it to dilute its pro-business and law-and-order agenda.</blockquote>
The bottom line, however, is that the winds have shifted across the world. The West is tired of stagnation. The West is tired of conciliation with Left-wing forces who are, in turn, conciliatory with radical Islamists.

The West is finally standing up on its hind legs.
Some of the leaders of this new movement include, obviously, President Trump; Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy who is apparently going to attend the inauguration of President Trump; Geert Wilders in the Netherlands; and Viktor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary; among others.
Leaders of the center-Right to those who are libertarian are moving in a similar direction. Why? Because chaos and instability are pleasures of the luxurious wealthy. When things are going really well, you can afford dumb ideas. When things are going poorly, it turns out that you cannot.
And so it is very heartening to see Western countries turn away from the foolish redistributionist, self-hating Left-wing policies and turn toward something better.
It is a very good thing. This change is, indeed, in part due to Trump, but it is not only due to him. It is gaining traction across the world as people begin to realize how dumb Left-wing policy has been.

President-elect Donald Trump referred to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as the &#8220;Governor&#8221; of &#8220;the Great State of Canada&#8221; in a Truth Social post on Monday night.
Trump&#8217;s post was in reference to a meeting the president-elect had with Trudeau at Mar-a-Lago last week. During the meeting, Trump reportedly told the Canadian leader that if his country couldn&#8217;t afford to pay a potential tariff, it should consider becoming the 51st state. Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-suggests-canada-become-51st-state-after-trudeau-said-tariff-would-kill-economy-sources" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that two sources who were at the table with Trump and Trudeau said that Trump&#8217;s comment caused the prime minister to &#8220;laugh nervously.&#8221;

Trump&#8217;s post came just hours after Trudeau said that Americans “are beginning to wake up to the real reality that tariffs on everything from Canada would make life a lot more expensive.” Trudeau added that he would retaliate if Trump implements the tariffs upon taking office, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/canada-trudeau-us-trump-tariffs-f23417b8f6671adf6b4c908be630615f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
&#8220;It would also, however, mean real hardship for Americans as well,&#8221; Trudeau said. &#8220;Americans import 65% of their crude oil from Canada, significant amounts of electricity. Just about all the natural gas exported from Canada goes to the United States. They rely on us for steel and aluminum. They rely on us for a range of agriculture imports. All of those things would get more expensive.&#8221;
Trudeau <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-canadas-trudeau-makes-commitment-to-u-s-during-mar-a-lago-meeting" target="_blank" rel="noopener">met</a> with Trump a few days after the incoming president threatened to levy a 25% tariff on all products from Canada and Mexico unless the countries worked on securing their borders with the U.S. and cracking down on drug trafficking and illegal immigration in America.
“This Tariff will remain in effect until such time as Drugs, in particular Fentanyl, and all Illegal Aliens stop this Invasion of our Country!” Trump said last month. “Both Mexico and Canada have the absolute right and power to easily solve this long simmering problem. We hereby demand that they use this power, and until such time that they do, it is time for them to pay a very big price!”

After the meeting, Trump said Trudeau &#8220;made a commitment to work&#8221; with his administration on putting an end to drugs being trafficked across America&#8217;s borders. On November 30, Trudeau posted a photo of him and Trump, writing, &#8220;Thanks for dinner last night, President Trump. I look forward to the work we can do together, again.&#8221;

Trump Calls Trudeau 'Governor' Of 'The Great State Of Canada

President-elect <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> said on Saturday that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau committed to working with the U.S. on issues that Trump raised earlier this week.
Trump said that his meeting with Trudeau at Mar-a-Lago was &#8220;very productive&#8221; as the two leaders &#8220;discussed many important topics that will require both Countries to work together to address, like the Fentanyl and Drug Crisis that has decimated so many lives as a result of Illegal Immigration, Fair Trade Deals that do not jeopardize American Workers, and the massive Trade Deficit the U.S. has with Canada.&#8221;
&#8220;I made it very clear that the United States will no longer sit idly by as our Citizens become victims to the scourge of this Drug Epidemic, caused mainly by the Drug Cartels, and Fentanyl pouring in from China,&#8221; Trump continued. &#8220;Too much death and hardship! Prime Minister Trudeau has made a commitment to work with us to end this terrible devastation of U.S. Families.&#8221;
He said that they also spoke about energy, trade, and the Arctic — issues that he said he would address starting on his first day back in office.
Trudeau posted a photo of the two at a table at Mar-a-Lago and thanked Trump for the dinner.

The meeting came after Trump threatened Canada with a 25% tariff unless it did more work to secure its border with the U.S. and cracked down harder on drug trafficking into the U.S.
