The exiled daughter of the late communist revolutionary and Cuban dictator Fidel Castro fanned the flames of theories involving her father&#8217;s relationship to former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
During an interview with NewsNation host Katie Pavlich on Tuesday, Alina Fernández — one of Castro&#8217;s 11 known children — was asked about rumors that Castro had another child, who grew up in one of Canada&#8217;s most powerful political families.
&#8220;For years, we&#8217;ve heard rumors that Justin Trudeau, the former prime minister of Canada, could be your half-brother. What do you think of that?&#8221; Pavlich asked.
&#8220;The only thing I can say is that his mother used to visit the country very often,&#8221; Fernández replied.
Pavlich said the answer seemed like a &#8220;tell&#8221; and asked whether Fernández would call Trudeau to &#8220;maybe find out.&#8221;
&#8220;No, no. I won&#8217;t do it,&#8221; she said. &#8220;If he wants [to], he&#8217;s going to be welcome, but I won&#8217;t. I think he keeps that to himself, and you have to respect that.&#8221;

The Canadian government has sought to put the Castro-Trudeau rumor to rest for years, but the claim continues to resurface.
Many people have linked Trudeau to Castro because of similarities in their facial features, and because Trudeau&#8217;s parents traveled to Cuba in the 1970s. Trudeau&#8217;s parents, Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and Margaret Trudeau, had one documented trip to the island country in 1976, five years after Trudeau was born. Pierre Trudeau also struck up a friendship with the communist leader.
The Canadian government has denied claims that Trudeau is the love child of the Cuban dictator, stating that Margaret&#8217;s first and only trip to Cuba occurred during a highly publicized affair in 1976, five years after Trudeau&#8217;s birth. The Cuban government has never claimed that Castro had a child with Margaret Trudeau.
It&#8217;s widely speculated that Castro had far more children than the 11 kids known to the public. Of Castro&#8217;s 11 known children, at least five were conceived during his relationship with a secret partner. Two of his other children were born out of wedlock with two different women, and Fernández was born from an extramarital affair that Castro had with Cuban socialite Natalia Revuelta Clews.
Fernández, who became an anti-communist activist, fled Cuba in 1993 and was granted asylum in the United States.

On Saturday, January 29, 2022, thousands of trucks and other vehicles from across the country entered the city of Ottawa. I was there to welcome the Western Canada convoy with a group of friends on an overpass above Highway 417, about half an hour west of the city. The truckers were animated by righteous frustration, yet I saw thousands of people full of love for one another, smiles, outbursts of hugs, and national flags attached to hockey sticks. There was even a sense of relief: it was as if a nation exhaled and exulted, “Finally, the cavalry is here to save us from our captors.” There are no words to adequately describe the feeling of everyone I interacted with on that overpass and also later when we went into Ottawa to join the party on Wellington Street.

People outside Canada could tell that the cause of the Freedom Convoy was just. When I went back to America after that weekend in Ottawa, as the Convoy settled in for what would be a three-week-long winter encampment, I was amazed to find my American neighbors cheering us on in solidarity. I delivered propane and hauled logs in the weeks after I came home, and I had never seen so many Canadian flags flying in the United States. It was unbelievable.
People I met while working or otherwise traveling, upon finding out that I was a native Canadian and a trucker, would exclaim, “Good for you guys; someone had to stand up to this nonsense,” or “Man, I thought Canadians were p*ssies, but those truckers have made me change my mind about you guys.” At the time, I had been living in America for six years, and almost no one had ever said anything about where I was from. For a hot minute, I was a minor celebrity simply for being from Canada.

Up north, however, things were not looking good for my colleagues in the protracted standoff between the truckers and a government whose officials refused to speak with them. In total, thirteen Convoys had arrived in Ottawa, and numerous protests were held at other sites across the country, most famously at Coutts, Alberta, and on the Ambassador Bridge, which connects the Canadian city of Windsor with Detroit and is the busiest of all border crossings between Canada and the U.S. Although everything was more or less peaceful—despite the outright lies and fabrications of the Canadian media about the truckers’ behavior in Ottawa—the two border-protest sites gained the attention of very powerful people outside Canada whose interests were not at risk from the hockey games, bouncy castles, and techno parties taking place in the streets of Ottawa.

In Coutts, Tony Olienick had found an atmosphere similar to that which presided in Ottawa. People were peacefully assembling and saying no to the mandates that were ruining their lives. He met and spoke with Americans who had come to the Sweetgrass, Montana, side of the border and to bask in solidarity and common cause with the protesting truckers. Tony also volunteered as a sort of security detail for the protest site. It should be noted that although the government and media were claiming that the protesters had shut down the border, the crossing itself remained open for all but three days during the three weeks of the Coutts protest. Other, nearby border crossings remained open the whole time and were available for trucks to use, although with more limited hours than the normal 24/7 customs services available at Coutts.

The perception that Coutts was closed, along with the growing protest at the Ambassador Bridge in Ontario, which forced most truck traffic to cross at the Bluewater Bridge between Sarnia and Port Huron, was useful for those who were antagonistic to the aims of the Convoy. Wild and unsubstantiated claims about the cost to the economy were thrown around, mostly based on guesstimates made by business associations. Were there delays at those other crossings from diverted traffic? Obviously, and they were sometimes substantial. Did the protests cause delays in shipments and disruptions to the fragile nature of just-in-time delivery schedules for automakers? Of course. Yet not one of those who complained about the supposed costs of the Convoy ever compared these guesstimated costs to the costs to the entire world from the madness of the COVID regime, which lasted the better part of three years, not three weeks, and was solely the responsibility of government, not of citizens who wanted their lives back.

The whining of the automotive industry, one of the most powerful corporate interest groups in America, got the attention of the Biden Administration. Brian Deese, director of the National Economic Council, got the ear of Trudeau’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, who set up a call between Trudeau and Biden on February 11, 2022. It is believed that this phone call set the wheels in motion for the ultimate crackdown on the Convoy.
Biden’s White House put out a statement about the call with Trudeau, and it is worth a read:
<blockquote>Today President Biden spoke with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada to discuss the ongoing blockade of key bridges and crossings between the United States and Canada, including Detroit/Windsor, Sweetwater/Coutts, and Pembina/Emerson. The two leaders agreed that the actions of the individuals who are obstructing travel and commerce between our two countries are having significant direct impacts on citizens’ lives and livelihoods. The President expressed his concern that U.S. companies and workers are experiencing serious effects, including slowdowns in production, shortened work hours, and plant closures. The Prime Minister promised quick action in enforcing the law, and the President thanked him for the steps he and other Canadian authorities are taking to restore the open passage of bridges to the United States. Significant direct impacts on citizens’ lives and livelihoods. Oh, like the long nightmare of the COVID regime?
The Coutts border crossing was only ever fully closed for three days, and two other border crossings were available to use. There are no automotive plants in that part of the prairie on either side of the border, and the only road closure that took place anywhere near Coutts was of Alberta Provincial Highway 4 at Milk River, a few miles north of Coutts; it was closed by the RCMP, not the protesters. In any case, the protest at Coutts was about to become the centerpiece of Trudeau’s rationale for the invocation of the Emergencies Act, whose outrageous violations of basic liberties included throwing an innocent trucker in jail, where he remains three-and-a-half years later at the time of this writing.

By this time, the Freedom Convoy protest sites were crawling with undercover officers, or UCOs, who poked around looking for any hint of illegal activity or actionable intelligence that could be used against the protesters. Meanwhile, the federal government was waging a media smear campaign later found to have been planned by the staff of Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino. This campaign failed to dent the widespread support the Convoy had in Canada and around the world: almost everyone except the most hopelessly naïve saw right through a staged Nazi flag photo and the usual tiresome accusations of white nationalism and racism. Anyone who went to a Freedom Convoy site to avail themselves of reality unmediated by state propaganda was surrounded by solidarity, happiness, and a genuine outpouring of love. Trudeau was losing the PR battle. He needed scapegoats. He searched for a pretext for invoking the Emergencies Act, something he had been considering since the early days of the protest but couldn’t pull off because those damn truckers were so well behaved. Allegations from UCOs at Coutts would give Trudeau everything he needed.

Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and pop star Katy Perry were spotted attending Justin Bieber’s performance at Coachella over the weekend, looking like they stumbled out of a frat party.
The internet came down hard on Trudeau, 54, and Perry, 41. Trudeau was sporting a backwards hat and sneakers, while the couple walked hand in hand and drank from red Solo cups.

A few days earlier, the pair were seen dining together at Le Violon, one of the city’s high-end restaurants, after walking Perry’s dog in the park.

The Liberal Party chose banker and climate activist Mark Carney to replace Justin Trudeau as Canada’s next prime minister during the party’s elections on Sunday night. 
Carney, who has led the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, easily secured the win, taking 86% of the vote during the Liberal Party election. During his victory speech, Carney took shots at President Donald Trump and claimed that America wanted to destroy Canada’s way of life. 
“America is not Canada. And Canada never, ever, will be part of America in any way, shape or form,” Carney <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2025/03/09/canadas-liberals-pick-mark-carney-to-replace-justin-trudeau-00220148">said</a>. “We didn’t ask for this fight, but Canadians are always ready when someone else drops the gloves.”
Since becoming president, Trump has suggested that Canada could become America&#8217;s 51st state and levied a series of tariffs against the country. 
&#8220;Canada will not bow down to a bully. We won’t stand by as illegal U.S. tariffs hurt our workers and their families. As Canadians, we need to face this challenge as one united team,&#8221; Carney <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/world/mark-carney-wins-liberal-party-nomination-replace-trudeau-canadas-next-pm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. He added that the Americans would “destroy our way of life” if they succeeded in getting “our water, our land, our country.” 
Carney is expected to call for nationwide elections sometime in the next few weeks, which could shake up the political makeup of Parliament. Alongside Trudeau, the Liberal Party’s popularity has fallen in recent months, and the Conservative Party could be poised to take control, with polls showing the party with a <a href="https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/polling-federal-rapid-shift-1.7469312" target="_blank" rel="noopener">slight advantage</a>. 
During his speech on Sunday, Carney slammed rival Canadian politician Pierre Poilievre, who heads the Conservative Party. The banker said that Poilievre was too closely aligned with Trump’s agenda.
“Donald Trump thinks he can weaken us with his plan to divide and conquer. Pierre Poilievre’s plan will leave us divided and ready to be conquered,” he said. “Because a person who worships at the altar of Donald Trump will kneel before him, not stand up to him.”
Poilievre, who has rejected calls from Trump to make Canada the 51st state, said that Carney would be a continuation of the unpopular Trudeau.
“Liberals are trying to trick Canadians into electing them for a fourth term by replacing Trudeau with his economic advisor, Mark Carney,” Poilievre <a href="https://x.com/PierrePoilievre/status/1898886332211986502" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> on X on Sunday. “It is the same Liberal team that drove up taxes, housing costs, and food prices, while Carney personally profited from moving billions of dollars and thousands of jobs out of Canada to the United States. President Donald Trump on Tuesday threatened that Canada would face an even higher tariff after the country responded with a retaliatory tariff on U.S. goods.
Trump&#8217;s 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico &#8211; and increased tariff on China &#8211; went into effect Tuesday morning, and both countries vowed to respond with reciprocal tariffs on U.S. imports. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Tuesday that Trump&#8217;s decision to impose tariffs on its neighbors &#8220;is a very dumb thing to do.&#8221;
In a Truth Social post, Trump responded and warned Canada not to respond with its own tariff.
&#8220;Please explain to Governor Trudeau, of Canada, that when he puts on a Retaliatory Tariff on the U.S., our Reciprocal Tariff will immediately increase by a like amount!&#8221; Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114105388432604284" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on social media.
Canada immediately imposed a 25% tariff on $30 billion worth of American goods, according to Trudeau. Another $125 billion worth of U.S. products will be hit with a 25% tariff at the end of the month, Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/03/04/trudeau-trump-tariffs-canada-us" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The Canadian prime minister also addressed the American people on Tuesday, saying, &#8220;Your government has chosen to put American jobs at risk at the thousands of workplaces that succeed because of materials from Canada, or because of consumers in Canada, or both.&#8221;
&#8220;They have chosen to raise costs for American consumers on everyday essential items like groceries and gas, on major purchases like cars and homes and everything in between,&#8221; Trudeau added, arguing that the tariffs would cut off America&#8217;s access to energy and critical minerals.

&#8220;Both nations’ failure to arrest traffickers, seize drugs, or coordinate with U.S. law enforcement constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat to America’s security—demanding IEEPA (International Emergency Economic Powers Act) action to force accountability and protect American lives.&#8221;
Trudeau dismissed Trump&#8217;s argument that the tariffs were to protect American security, claiming that Trump wants to &#8220;see a total collapse of the Canadian economy because that will make it easier to annex us.&#8221;

Trade War Intensifies: Trump Vows To Increase Tariff After Canada Reciprocates

One of the easiest ways to tell you&#8217;re dealing with an honest person is seeing how they react when some of their most basic, fundamental assumptions are proven to be completely wrong. A few weeks ago, for example, we talked about how some Flat-Earthers responded when they went on a trip to Antarctica that debunked their entire belief system. They sat there and watched 24 hours of sunlight, and they realized that the Earth has to be rotating in space. And to their credit, a few of these Flat-Earthers admitted their mistake, on-camera. They said that, from that moment forward, they would be whatever the opposite of a Flat-Earther is. Sphere-earthers, I guess.
On the other hand, malevolent liars will never admit that they&#8217;re wrong. Even when they&#8217;re confronted with the reality of the situation — which is that everything they&#8217;ve been saying for years was actually wrong — they&#8217;ll find some way to deny it. They&#8217;ll absolve themselves of any responsibility for their deception. And if they can, they&#8217;ll blame you for challenging them. These are people who are not interested in the truth. They have no integrity whatsoever. And therefore they have no business being in any position of power or authority. Trustworthy leaders will admit their mistakes. Corrupt and incompetent leaders will obfuscate, deny, and double down.
With that distinction in mind, recent events have made it abundantly clear that our neighbors to the north in Canada are ruled by the latter group of people. These are people who have no interest in the truth. They are driven entirely by an ideology that, it just so happens, is explicitly anti-Christian and anti-American. And as I&#8217;ll explain in a moment, that has significant implications for the United States, as Canada becomes increasingly hostile towards our country.
But before I get into those implications, I need to explain what exactly the Canadian government has just done. As you may remember, for several years, Canada&#8217;s government, along with the country&#8217;s state media, has been advancing an extraordinary claim as if it&#8217;s the truth. They&#8217;ve said, again and again, that unmarked mass graves had been found at Canada&#8217;s &#8220;residential schools&#8221; — which were boarding schools for Indian children that existed for around 100 years, peaking in the early 20th century. And the discovery of these unmarked mass graves was significant, Canadians were told, because Christian churches were running these residential schools.
In other words, for years, the dominant narrative in Canada has been that Christian schools were so horrific that Indian children died all the time, and they were just tossed in unmarked graves when they expired. Therefore, Canadians were told that Canada is a genocidal state, and Christianity is bad. So predictably, dozens of Christian churches burned. And in response, the country&#8217;s outgoing prime minister, Justin Trudeau, said the arson was &#8220;understandable.&#8221; They only made one arrest in the wake of those arson attacks on churches, by the way — some of which were within a few miles of the U.S. border. Canadians, for the most part, stopped celebrating their independence day, out of shame over this story. Canadian secondary schools put images like this one up on the wall:

As you can see, it tells students that nearly 2,000 &#8220;unmarked graves&#8221; have been found. This has been an all-out, all-encompassing narrative in Canada. But to be clear, this narrative about the residential schools was not simply pushed by Canadian state media. In fact, the narrative actually had its origins in U.S.media — including in outlets that, we now know, were taking money from the Biden administration.
The New York Times, for instance, was one of the <a href="https://quillette.com/blog/2024/09/20/when-will-the-new-york-times-correct-its-flawed-reporting-on-canadas-unmarked-graves/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">first outlets</a> to report back in 2021 that <a href="https://nationalpost.com/opinion/the-year-of-the-graves-how-the-worlds-media-got-it-wrong-on-residential-school-graves" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;unmarked graves&#8221;</a> had been discovered in Canada. They did a whole series of reports on the topic over the summer, all of which were premised on the idea that &#8220;ground-penetrating radar&#8221; had discovered evidence of grave sites. 
Then &#8220;60 Minutes&#8221; joined in, with reports like this one. Watch:

So Anderson Cooper is very concerned about the hundreds of unmarked graves that have supposedly been discovered. He specifically mentioned the hundreds of graves that were allegedly discovered at a residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. And Canada&#8217;s state media said much the same thing. The CBC for example <a href="https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/tk-eml" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>: &#8220;Preliminary findings from a survey of the grounds at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School have uncovered the remains of 215 children buried at the site, the Tk&#8217;emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation said Thursday.&#8221;
When you see television segments and news articles like this, you might assume — naturally — that some amount of vetting has been done to ensure that these claims are at least potentially accurate. These are obviously incendiary claims that are being made, so presumably, you might think that someone would have looked into them before publishing. But that was never true in this case. More than three years later, not a single body has been found in an unmarked grave at any residential school in Canada. And they certainly haven&#8217;t been uncovered in Kamloops. It turns out that, in fact, the alleged &#8220;unmarked grave site&#8221; in Kamloops was, in reality, a 2,000-foot long, 3-foot deep trench that was established in 1924 as a septic field to store sewage from the school. As the Dorchester Review <a href="https://www.dorchesterreview.ca/blogs/news/the-kamloops-discovery-a-fact-check-two-years-later?srsltid=AfmBOopXCdjxqY3JXETULV7I9BJZfAioMCrMF0Bv2anSJXCnX9tSnsUe" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>, &#8220;Ground penetrating radar cannot distinguish between a trench lined with clay tiles and a putative child’s grave.&#8221;
This is the kind of information that, if you&#8217;re dealing with honest people, would lead to mass resignations and terminations, for starters. Obviously, no one with any self-respect in the Canadian media or in the Canadian government should keep their job after spreading an anti-Christian lie that caused dozens of churches to go up in flames. But instead of admitting they were wrong, Canada&#8217;s government is of course taking the dishonorable approach. They&#8217;re slowly slinking away like the cowards they are.

The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/after-4-years-of-searching-and-0-bodies-found-canada-cuts-funds-on-search-for-unmarked-mass-graves" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports</a> that: 
<blockquote>Canada is pulling funds from groups still searching for alleged bodies buried at Indigenous residential schools funded by Catholics and other Christians. An organization and a committee of experts formed to search for the elusive remains have both lost funding in the past month, following four years of searches that have found zero remains.</blockquote>
We&#8217;re talking about organizations that have received millions of dollars from Canada&#8217;s massive, 300 million-dollar &#8220;Residential Schools Missing Children Community Support Fund.&#8221; These nonprofits have fancy names like &#8220;Survivors&#8217; Secretariat&#8221; and the &#8220;National Advisory Committee on Residential Schools Missing Children and Unmarked Burials.&#8221; And now, after collecting millions of dollars in taxpayer money, they&#8217;re finally getting cut off, because it turns out that the entire animating idea behind their &#8220;nonprofit&#8221; was in fact a scam. The Canadian government is now rolling back its financial investments in this deranged and destructive lie. For all intents and purposes, the residential schools hoax is finally dead.
But that does not mean that the Canadian government is admitting, outright, that it was wrong. That would take an ounce of integrity that they simply do not have. So instead, both political parties in Canada are now rallying around the idea that no one should be able to question the narrative that they&#8217;re now retreating from. In other words, Canada has now entered a kind of reality distortion field, where everyone knows the government was wrong for the last several years, but no one can admit it.

Those were conservative politicians in that clip. That&#8217;s Canada&#8217;s conservative party — supposedly the opposition to the liberals. They&#8217;re telling this politician to retract her factually accurate statement about unmarked gravesites in Canada. No one in that clip actually refutes anything she said. Instead, they just tell her that it&#8217;s inappropriate to state the truth about these unmarked graves, because it contradicts a broader narrative they want to establish.
As tempting as it may be to think that nothing in Canada affects us here in the United States, the truth is that we can&#8217;t ignore what&#8217;s happening there. And that&#8217;s not just because of the cruelty that&#8217;s been inflicted on Christian Canadians in recent years. That&#8217;s because, at the same moment that Canada is uniting behind malicious, anti-Christian defamation, the country&#8217;s leaders are desperately seeking to expand their power globally.
In particular, some of Canada&#8217;s most prominent politicians — like Chrystia Freeland, who could be the country&#8217;s next prime minister — are openly suggesting that Canada should join a nuclear alliance to handle the &#8220;threat&#8221; that, in her view, is posed by the United States. This is the same woman who gleefully froze truckers&#8217; bank accounts when they committed the crime of peacefully protesting her government&#8217;s unlawful COVID mandates. She cheered as journalists were arrested and elderly women were trampled with horses in Ottawa&#8217;s downtown core, as a result of her declaration of martial law. She was one of the leading proponents of the mass-graves hoax. And she&#8217;s never apologized for any of it. Instead, now she wants Canada to join a hostile military alliance with foreign powers, while she&#8217;s contemplating the use of nuclear weapons against the United States. And at the moment, it&#8217;s not a stretch to say that she could replace Justin Trudeau as the leader of Canada&#8217;s liberal party — a party that, as we just saw, isn&#8217;t much different from the conservatives.
What this means is that, while the conclusion of the mass-graves hoax was anticlimactic at best, Canadian leaders actually see it as a springboard for more authoritarian crackdowns and more overt anti-Christian, anti-American hostility. Whatever credibility Canada had as a staunch American ally, or a legitimately Christian nation, is now completely gone. Canadian leaders would rather lie than admit the truth that everyone can clearly see. No country can survive for long when it&#8217;s committed, to such a great extent, to the denial of reality. And though they don&#8217;t seem interested in admitting it, that is the commitment Canadian politicians have now made.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pushed back on President Donald Trump’s suggestions that Canada might become the 51st state after Canada defeated Team USA in the 4 Nations Face-Off hockey championship Thursday night. 
Trudeau’s comments came as Canada defeated Team USA 3-2 in an exciting overtime game in Boston. Just days before, Team USA dominated Canada in a 3-1 victory in Montreal after Canadian fans booed America’s national anthem. American fans returned the favor on Thursday, booing during the singing of &#8220;O Canada.&#8221; 
“You can’t take our country — and you can’t take our game,” Trudeau posted on X shortly after the championship game concluded.

Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday that he hoped Team USA would defeat Canada, which he said would “someday, maybe soon, become our cherished, and very important, Fifty First State.”
“I will be speaking before the Governors tonight in D.C., and will sadly, therefore, be unable to attend. But we will all be watching, and if Governor Trudeau would like to join us, he would be most welcome,&#8221; Trump said. 
While he couldn’t attend the championship, Trump called Team USA and General Manager Billy Guerin before the game. Guerin put Trump on speakerphone in the locker room.

It’s an honor to talk to you and get out there and there’s no pressure whatsoever.”
“I could tell you honestly every person in here, players, staff, management, coaches, we are all proud Americans and we want to represent our country the best way we can and do our best to bring in a win tonight,” Guerin told Trump. “Thank you again on behalf of everybody.”
“You just go out and have a good time,” Trump responded. “You’re going to win and we love America and we love you guys. We will be watching tonight. Bring it home!”

After Trudeau announced his commitment to increasing border security, Trump said the tariffs would be paused for 30 days while the two nations negotiate an economic deal.
