Actress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/julia-louis-dreyfus">Julia Louis-Dreyfus</a> shared her endorsement for Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris">Kamala Harris</a> on X over the weekend, focusing her messaging on abortion, IVF, and comments about the government being in her “sn*tch.”
The 63-year-old “Seinfeld” alum posted her thoughts in a video she shared on the platform. “I don&#8217;t know about you, but I&#8217;d really like to get the government out of my f***ing sn*tch,” Louis-Dreyfus wrote in the caption.
“<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump">Trump</a> and his Project 2025 friends want to reach into our doctor’s offices and our bedrooms to control our access to birth control, IVF, and, of course, abortion— even though they wouldn’t know a uterus if they had to crawl out of one for a second time,” she continued.
The actress went on, “That&#8217;s why I hope you&#8217;ll join me in voting for Kamala Harris, who will fight to win back our reproductive rights and sign into law the protections of Roe v. Wade. And don&#8217;t stop at the top of the ticket &#8212; vote all the way down for the candidates and ballot initiatives that will protect reproductive freedom!” She added a link to register to vote.

Many of the reactions to Louis-Dreyfus’ post were negative, pointing out the inconsistencies in her messaging.
“The more you try and associate Trump with Project 2025, the more you expose yourself as just another disingenuous, lying Democrat lapdog,” one social media user <a href="https://x.com/Echo1Project/status/1848366699864612957">wrote</a>. “If you want to form a strong argument, a good place to start is by not lying your ass off. Try again Elaine.”

“Does it sucks (sic) fighting for something this hard that you cant (sic) be honest about? Trump has denounced project 2025 and voiced strong support for IVF. No one cares about your sn*tch, lady. They care about the truth,” another <a href="https://x.com/wave_cometh/status/1848390904689647819">said</a>.
Trump has repeatedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-again-addresses-project-2025-says-dems-are-engaging-in-pure-disinformation">disavowed</a> Project 2025 despite Democrats continuing to use it as a talking point against him. He also expressed support for requiring insurance companies to pay for IVF procedures while possibly including a religious exemption, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-religious-exemption-to-ivf-mandate-is-a-pretty-good-idea">reported</a>.
Trump said during a rally in Michigan that with his future administration, “your government will pay for or your insurance company will be mandated to pay for all costs associated with IVF treatment.”
“We want more babies!” he added.

Yes, the worship of the assembled stars for Vice President Kamala Harris made us long for the sincerity of that Gal Gadot “Imagine” sing-a-long at the start of the pandemic.
Except celebrities were just warming up. And it could only get worse between now and Election Day. Is that possible? Well, Hollywood is all about make believe, and what candidate is more smoke and mirrors than Harris?
Let’s start with Ben Stiller, the comedy superstar who originally made us cringe during that “White Dudes” debacle. Stiller summoned his &#8220;Zoolander&#8221; character in the worst of ways when he uttered this pablum: “Every White Jewish Guy Wishes He Was Black.&#8221;
Stiller wasn’t done, apparently. He managed to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/ben-stiller-calling-kamala-harris-change-candidate-goes-viral-literally-biden-harris-administration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">top his own inanity</a> with this line, taken straight from the media’s talking points.
&#8220;Just very excited about moving forward and all the energy and excitement that&#8217;s around this movement right now… That&#8217;s why I&#8217;m here, because it&#8217;s time for change, and it seems like it&#8217;s happening.&#8221;

Does the actor even hear himself? Then again, we have major news outlets attacking Team Trump for trying to “<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/politico-scolded-insisting-vance-tried-tether-harris-biden-shes-literally-his-vice-president" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tether</a>” Harris to President Joe Biden.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus previously vowed to be very active in the Harris presidential campaign. We were warned. Her latest contribution? Co-starring in a humiliating “dance” video for Team Harris alongside such noted hoofers as Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Hillary Clinton and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Why? “The Late Show” shared the clip to celebrate the recent Democratic National Convention.
The dancers wave their arms to Queen’s “We Will Rock You” on the TikTok video, and it’s hard to see who comes off worse. No context. No purpose. No attempt to use their combined profiles to do anything but look self-satisfied.
The only winner here? Gadot, who can rest easy knowing she’s not part of the lamest celebrity video in recent memory.

The “Alien” alum, receiving a lifetime achievement award at the Venice Film Festival, fielded a question suggesting her enduring Ripley character helped pave the way for Harris’ 2024 presidential run.
The question alone made the Cringe-Meter melt down. <a href="https://variety.com/2024/film/festivals/sigourney-weaver-tears-up-venice-alien-ripley-kamala-harris-1236120121/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The response? Worse:</a>

Ellen Ripley famously stared down an Alien super-beast in the saga’s second film, protecting a young child all the while. Few action heroes are that tough.
Vice President Harris avoided journalist questions for well over a month before agreeing to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harris-struggles-to-lay-out-what-she-would-do-on-day-1-as-president?topStoryPosition=3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a joint CNN softball affair</a> with her Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz.
Empowering.
Directorial legend Quentin Tarantino’s pro-Harris blather made even Trump-hater Bill Maher blush. The two discussed Harris’ election chances on Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, letting Tarantino share his curious advice for the word salad spinner.
The subject? Harris’ reluctance to answer questions from the media. Maher suggested she needed to reach out to undecided voters.
Tarantino’s response? Too risky!

And Trump’s not the president, and we’re the f***ing president, and now it’s gonna be about this … sometimes it’s just about f***ing winning. Translation: Our candidate can’t swat away softball questions, but she’s got MY vote.
And let’s not forget the Foo Fighters. The alt-rock band was ready to join The Resistance™ after Team Trump used its “My Hero” song during the Aug. 23 rally featuring Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
The band rushed to social media to complain, adding “appropriate actions are being taken” to address the matter.
Except Trump’s team says it <a href="https://ew.com/trump-campaign-fires-back-at-foo-fighters-claims-it-had-permission-to-use-my-hero-at-a-rally-8701506" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bought the rights to use the song</a>.
The group joins a long list of progressive stars who kick and scream when a GOP politician uses their music … and does nothing.
Cringe.

“<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hold-veep-showrunner-reacts-to-recent-bump-in-viewership-after-kamala-harris-becomes-presumptive-nominee">Veep</a>” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus will host a panel with female Democratic governors from across the country at the Democratic National Convention next week in Chicago.
The 63-year-old Hollywood actress &#8212; who played fictional character Vice President Selina Meyer on the popular HBO political satire &#8212; will be joined by the Democratic Governors Association, the actress confirmed to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/13/entertainment/veep-julia-louis-dreyfus-host-panel-female-governors-dnc/index.html?Date=20240813&amp;Profile=CNN&amp;utm_content=1723587699&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=instagram">CNN</a>.
The panel will take place on Wednesday August 21 where the “Seinfeld” actress and vocal Democratic supporter will moderate the event with eight Democratic women governors. The list includes such governors as Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, and Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, among others.
Dreyfus <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/politics-news/julia-louis-dreyfus-democratic-women-governors-dnc-1235973012/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> The Hollywood Reporter that “throughout their time in office, Democratic women governors have made history, changed the conversation surrounding women in executive roles, and gotten big things done for the good people of their states.”
DGA Women Governors Fund chair Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey told THR, “Julia Louis-Dreyfus brings the same passion and intensity that drives her successful career on-screen to her projects off of it, including her decades of work as an advocate and activist fighting to protect abortion rights, voting rights and democracy and fighting to combat climate change.&#8221;

The show — which wrapped up after seven seasons in 2019 — has seen renewed interest with viewership increased by 353% on July 24 compared to the previous day, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/veep-viewership-increases-350-after-harris-enters-presidential-race">reported</a>. It happened 24 hours after Biden said he would no longer seek reelection. 
In the show, which ran from 2012 until 2019, the president resigns, leaving Meyer to ascend the office herself and later launch her own campaign.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, 63, slammed Jerry Seinfeld during an <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/08/magazine/julia-louis-dreyfus-interview.html">interview</a> with The New York Times over the weekend after Seinfeld noted that the political Left has killed television comedies.
Dreyfus claimed that the show the two starred in, &#8220;Seinfeld,&#8221; could &#8220;probably not&#8221; be made today because &#8220;it’s hard to get anything different recognized&#8221; and &#8220;everyone’s sort of running scared.&#8221;
When asked about the remarks Seinfeld made about political correctness killing comedy, Dreyfus claimed that a lot of comedy &#8220;bits and pieces &#8230; don’t age well.&#8221;
Dreyfus, a staunch Democrat activist, said that she thinks having &#8220;an antenna about sensitivities is not a bad thing.&#8221;
&#8220;When I hear people starting to complain about political correctness — and I understand why people might push back on it — but to me that’s a red flag, because it sometimes means something else,&#8221; she claimed. &#8220;I believe being aware of certain sensitivities is not a bad thing.&#8221;
&#8220;My feeling about all of it is that political correctness, insofar as it equates to tolerance, is obviously fantastic,&#8221; she later added. &#8220;And of course I reserve the right to boo anyone who says anything that offends me, while also respecting their right to free speech, right?&#8221;
Seinfeld <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jerry-seinfeld-sounds-off-the-extreme-left-and-p-c-crap-has-killed-television-comedy">said</a> in an interview in late April that the American people &#8220;need&#8221; to be able to come home from work and have comedy on television.
“They need it so badly and they don’t get it,” he said. “It used to be, you would go home at the end of the day, most people would go, “Oh, ‘Cheers’ is on. Oh, ‘M*A*S*H’ is on. Oh, ‘Mary Tyler Moore’ is on. ‘All in the Family’ is on.” You just expected, there’ll be some funny stuff we can watch on TV tonight.”
“Well, guess what — where is it? This is the result of the extreme left and P.C. crap, and people worrying so much about offending other people,” he continued. “Now they’re going to see stand up comics because we are not policed by anyone. The audience polices us. We know when we’re off track. We know instantly and we adjust to it instantly.”
“But when you write a script and it goes into four or five different hands, committees, groups — ‘Here’s our thought about this joke,&#8217;” he added. “Well, that’s the end of your comedy.”

Julia Louis-Dreyfus: It’s A ‘Red Flag’ When People Complain About PC Culture; ‘Sensitivities’ Needed

“Downhill” is like Methadone for your “Marriage Story” addiction.
The latter showed a relationship in its death throes. “Downhill,” the American remake of 2014’s “Force Majeure,” X-rays a middle-aged couple teetering toward disaster.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell are well cast, but the movie is too short, too eager to smite one half of the couple in question, to fully recommend it.
And in Hollywood’s faux obsession with the patriarchy, Ferrell’s character wins the Emasculation Olympics, and it’s not even close.
Louis-Dreyfus and Ferrell play Billie and Pete, a couple vacationing in the Alps with their pre-teen boys. All seems well on the surface, but the set of Billie’s jaw suggests otherwise. Said jaw clenches harder, and longer, after the family is dusted by a controlled avalanche at their resort. Pete lunges for his phone, not his family.
Billie wonders what kind of a man she’s been married to all these years. She has a point.
“Downhill” negotiates her resentment with great care. It’s clear the team behind the film understands the nuances of a marriage, for better and worse.
Slowly, painfully, the family’s ski vacation becomes a bizarre battle of wills, dragging Pete’s best bud (Zach Woods) and his too perfect galpal (Zoe Chao) into the fight.
“Downhill” isn’t your standard Ferrell comedy. His partners in crime, Adam McKay and John C. Reilly, are nowhere in sight. The tone is more mature and grounded, a far cry from Ferrell’s signature shtick. The shift fits his talents snugly, but the filmmakers sometimes pine for the old Will Ferrell, the guy who tears his shirt off, revealing his dad bod for all to see.

Consider a sequence where Pete drinks too much in a dance club. You can sense directors Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (of the superior “Way, Way Back”) itching to let their star loose.
As is, the sequence isn’t illuminating or funny. It just sits there, eager for a rewrite.
Other moments offer richer rewards. A critical battle, played out before friends and family, showcases a relationship heading, well, downhill. It doesn’t reveal enough, though, something “Downhill’s” stingy running time exaggerates.
We need to spend more time with Billie and Pete to see how they fight, and flirt, and collaborate. Is this a doomed marriage, or a case of Pete’s ego in self-destruct mode?
More importantly, why does the screenplay shred Pete in no uncertain terms? The aforementioned “Marriage Story” ladled out the blame equally between the main characters. It’s one reason the story’s through line – staying in love through the worst of circumstances – registered.
Here, Billie is the saint, the put-upon spouse losing it over Pete’s shenanigans. She’s a bit distant, but it’s obvious who the superior partner is. She even gets a wildly improbable love interest, a false note in a story that can ill afford one.
The male ego is fertile grounds for comedy, of course. And, perhaps, the film’s message is some marriages shouldn’t be saved. Still, a more compatible union, warts and all, would deliver more tension, more avenues for audiences to explore.
As is, “Downhill” offers a sophisticated look at marriage but can’t fully commit to the task at hand.
HiT or Miss: “Downhill” serves up a mature look at monogamy, something too often missing in Hollywood. It’s still an exasperating experience.

Julia&#8217;s rep confirmed her cancer to the Associated Press, but did not give any further details. HBO, which airs Julia&#8217;s hit show, Veep, pledged their &#8220;love and support&#8221; to Julia and her family in a statement.
Certainly, we wish Julia all the best, but like Jimmy Kimmel with his son&#8217;s heart surgery, it&#8217;s incredibly strange when celebrities &#8212; who can afford some of the best health care in the world &#8212; take opportunities like this, where they believe they are morally unassailable, to push policies that regular Americans would find desperately wanting &#8212; and in some cases, deadly.
Universal health care sounds great, but when the government provides the health care &#8212; and pays for it &#8212; it also decides what treatments are warranted and appropriate. Without recourse to private alternatives &#8212; and the financial largesse it might take to afford treatment, typically in America at places like the Mayo Clinic &#8212; patients suffering from illnesses like cancer are often denied important, life saving drugs and treatments, because those treatments are simply too experimental or expensive for a government board.
In the U.K., breast cancer patients struggled for years for access to Kadcyla, a drug that was proven to extend the lives of women in advanced stages of the disease. The <a href="http://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/breast-cancer-drug-kadcyla-new-nhs-available-too-expensive-trusts-funding-roche-deal-a7791721.html">National Health Service dismissed the drug out of hand in 2015</a>, saying its price tag per patient was far too high. Only after a public outcry &#8212; and after Roche, the manufacturer, started to provide the drug free of charge to select patients &#8212; did the NHS reconsider.
In Canada, the country progressives often point to as a model for American health care, <a href="https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2015/10/14/provinces-vary-widely-on-coverage-of-breast-cancer-treatments.html">coverage for breast cancer treatments varies wildly between provinces</a>. The Canadian Breast Cancer Network says that in many places in Canada, provincial governments, completely unfamiliar with cancer treatments, are making important care decisions, and in some cases, leaving patients to die while government boards assess the utility of various treatments.
Treating everyone for cancer sounds great, but it also costs; universal health care is, of course, free only to people who don&#8217;t quite realize they pay taxes.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus Uses Breast Cancer Diagnosis To Push For Universal Health Care

Julia-Louis Dreyfus, known for playing Elaine Benes on Seinfeld and for currently starring in HBO&#8217;s comedy Veep, was delighted to receive a fan note from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2013. However, the release of several Clinton emails stemming from the FBI investigation into the infamous server scandal revealed that not only had the twice failed Democratic presidential candidate not seen a single episode of Veep, she did not even know who Dreyfus was at the time. 
Appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Friday, she told the host about the awkward incident of finding out on social media that Clinton had never heard of her. 
Corden joked that the actress was personally caught up in the email scandal. 
Dreyfus sarcastically replied, &#8220;Yes, I feel sort of responsible.&#8221;
She went on to explain, &#8220;Well, what happened was this. Someone who worked on Veep also worked with Hillary Clinton and did her make-up. My friends in the makeup department, as a gift, they gave me a note from Hillary Clinton back when she was still secretary of state.&#8221;
Dreyfus described the note as referring to several policy points that Clinton supported and concluded with a signature. 
&#8220;So, of course, I was thrilled to get this. I had it framed in my house,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;About two years later, the emails were all sort of flowing out. And someone tweeted to me an email Hillary Clinton sent to her staffer that said &#8216;a friend of mine needs me to write something to Julie [sic] Dreyfus. Any idea what to say she&#8217;s on some show.&#8217;&#8221;
She added that the staffer responded with equal pop culture ignorance. &#8220;So he writes back, &#8216;it&#8217;s called Veep. I will not admit I have not seen it.'&#8221;
&#8220;So, you can see, she was up to no good,&#8221; said Dreyfus.
Dreyfus explained that she holds no bitterness over the incident and in fact hung the email next to the personalized note in her house.

Sigh. Another Hollywood actress is claiming that Democrats have asked her <a href="http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/article/2619794/">to run for office</a>.
This time, it&#8217;s actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the star of Veep. <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/magazine/what-happens-to-political-comedy-when-the-real-world-goes-beyond-satire-veep-is-about-to-find-out/2017/04/07/bd4be4e6-0281-11e7-ad5b-d22680e18d10_story.html?utm_term=.658543873693">According to the Washington Post</a>, in a lengthy article about the show, &#8220;Louis-Dreyfus said she has been approached by top Democrats and asked to run for office. (Not in a million years, she said she told them.)&#8221; 
In April of 2016, Louis-Dreyfus told <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/17/arts/television/julia-louis-dreyfus-on-clinton-trump-and-anelection-year-veep.html">The New York Times</a> that it was sexism that kept women like Hillary Clinton, whom she later endorsed, from succeeding, saying, &#8220;A stern, decisive man is appealing. There are those who would say a stern, decisive woman is unappealing. Need you know any more than that?&#8221;
In January, at the SAG Awards, Louis-Dreyfus <a href="http://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/in-the-know/316801-julia-louis-dreyfus-delivers-emotional-speech-against-trump">railed</a> against President Trump&#8217;s executive order regarding immigration, asserting, &#8220;&#8221;My father fled religious persecution in Nazi-occupied France. I&#8217;m an American patriot, and I love this country. Because I love this country, I am horrified by its blemishes, and this immigrant ban is a blemish and it&#8217;s un-American.&#8221;
Louis-Dreyfus <a href="http://www.goldderby.com/article/2017/veep-julia-louis-dreyfus-trump-sxsw-news-1357908642/">said</a> Veep won&#8217;t deal with Trump, offering, &#8220;I don&#8217;t want to do Trump stuff. We&#8217;ve set up this premise for the show that&#8217;s an alternative political universe.&#8221;
Of Washington, Louis-Dreyfus posited, &#8220;It&#8217;s still filled with idiots.&#8221;
