TV star “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/judge-judy-sheindlin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Judge Judy</a>” Sheindlin slammed New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg for trying former President Donald Trump in the hush-money case.
During Sheindlin’s appearance on &#8220;<a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/20/politics/video/judge-judy-trump-civil-fraud-case-manhattan-da-wallace-wtcw-digvid">Who&#8217;s Talking to Chris Wallace</a>” in an episode that streamed on Friday, Wallace asked the judge what she thought about the trial, and she said Bragg only tried Trump for his own selfish reasons, something for which she resents him.
“I would be happier, as someone who owns property in Manhattan, if the district attorney [Alvin Bragg] of New York County would take care of criminals who are making it impossible for citizens to walk in the streets and use the subway,” the judge said.

“To use those efforts to keep those people off the street, than to spend $5 million or $10 million taxpayers’ money trying Donald Trump on this nonsense,” she added. “That’s my view.”
“I, as a taxpayer in this country, resent using the system for your own personal self-aggrandizement,” the judge continued, saying that’s exactly what she thinks Bragg did by trying Trump. “You have to twist yourself in a pretzel to figure out what the crime was. He [Bragg] doesn’t like him [Trump]. New York City didn’t like him [Trump] for a while.”
When pressed by Wallace on what she personally thought of the former president, the judge said that she thinks Trump “was a good businessman, a real estate guy. And he was certainly terrific on ‘The Apprentice.'&#8221;
However, when asked her thoughts about Trump’s presidency, she made it clear she didn’t think he should be in the highest office in the land.
“I don’t think that Donald [Trump] ever should have been president,” Sheindlin said. “And I don’t think that even Donald thought he was going to be president.”

The former president was recently found guilty on all 34 counts by a New York jury in the hush-money trial.
The guilty verdict in Trump’s New York trial marks the first time a former U.S. president has been convicted of a crime, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/verdict-trump-found-guilty-on-all-charges-in-hush-money-case">reported</a>.
At the heart of the case brought by Manhattan District Attorney <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/alvin-bragg">Alvin Bragg</a> were <a href="https://manhattanda.org/district-attorney-bragg-announces-34-count-felony-indictment-of-former-president-donald-j-trump/">34 felony counts</a> of falsifying business records to conceal damaging information around the 2016 election as part of a “catch-and-kill” scheme.
Prosecutors accused Trump of improperly masking reimbursements to repay his former lawyer, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/michael-cohen">Michael Cohen</a>, for a $130,000 payment to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/stormy-daniels">Stormy Daniels</a> in exchange for her silence on an alleged extramarital affair by classifying them as legal expenses.
Trump has denied that the affair with Stormy Daniels ever happened and pleaded not guilty to the charges. His lawyers <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ny-v-trump-defense-says-prosecutors-did-not-meet-burden-proof-former-president-innocent">argued</a> there was no intent to defraud or influence the 2016 election.

&#8220;He&#8217;s scared to death of me,&#8221; TV personality Judy Sheindlin, better known as Judge Judy, told &#8220;<a href="https://www.accessonline.com/videos/judge-judy-says-former-neighbor-justin-bieber-is-scared-to-death-of-me-exclusive">Access Hollywood</a>.&#8221; 
&#8220;There was a period of time before he grew up – when he was foolish, and doing foolish things,&#8221; she continued.
Sheindlin is known for starring in the popular courtroom <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">TV series</a> “Judge Judy,” which shows her presiding over real-life small-claims cases inside a televised courtroom. The 80-year-old judge was known for her tough, no-nonsense demeanor in court.
Judge Judy said Bieber went as far as having his security team tell the pop star when she was coming and going so he could avoid seeing her outside.
&#8220;I must have said something about it, and then, I understood that he was paying the front door people to let them know when I was there, coming and going, so he wouldn&#8217;t have to bump into me,&#8221; she told the outlet.
Sheindlin had previously called out Bieber’s antics following his DUI arrest in 2014. 
“Being a celebrity is a gift,&#8221; the TV personality <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/reality-tv-star-judge-judy-reflects-on-fun-career-speaks-mind-on-justin-beiber/">told</a> CBS Los Angeles at the time. &#8220;You could either treat it reverently or you could make a fool out of yourself. And he&#8217;s doing a very good job of making a fool out of himself.&#8221;
She went on to say how wasteful it was to see someone like Bieber wasting his fame and talent.
&#8220;I think it&#8217;s sad. And nobody&#8217;s going to remember that he was a marginal singer. But they&#8217;re going to remember a young kid who had a chance to have it all and who is blowing it by acting like a fool.&#8221;
Bieber later apologized for his actions and has since leaned into his Christian faith and stayed out of trouble. He married Hailey Bieber in 2018 and is now living a quieter life.

Speaking to <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/judge-sheindlin-ending-judge-judy-1234950880/">The Hollywood Reporter</a> (THR), Judge Judy Sheindlin said that America has become a &#8220;frightening place to be&#8221; thanks to those perpetuating cancel culture.
&#8220;To have a fear of speaking your opinion, for fear of being put on somebody&#8217;s list and canceled? It&#8217;s a frightening place for America to be,&#8221; the judge said. &#8220;I&#8217;m not a big fan of the PC police.&#8221;
&#8220;Is it PC to say to people who are 19 or 23 years old, have no job, no prospects and six children, ‘Find something else to do with that organ?’ No. But where I come from, I&#8217;ve seen the ravages of that kind of neglect,&#8221; she added.
Judge Judy differentiated cancel culture with accountability by saying people who are actually bad and have done wrong should be &#8220;prepared to pay the piper.&#8221;
&#8220;If you’re a bad person, if you’ve done something wrong, you’ve got to be prepared to pay the piper,&#8221; she said. &#8220;And there are people who have done just that. They’ve paid the price with their good name, their footprint. That’s a good thing.&#8221;
During the 2020 Democratic primary, Judge Judy endorsed former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg for president, saying he was the only one who could bring a divided America together.
“I’ve never seen Americans so angry with each other as a family and it became sort of frightening when you couldn’t go to a social gathering and have a difference of opinion… if you view America as the greatest family on the planet, I felt as if it was time for America, which is the greatest country in the world, to have the greatest president,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-judge-judy-endorses-mike-bloomberg-2020-on-the-view-greatest-president">she said</a>. “When I looked at the field of 2020 candidates … there was no other voice, for me, other than the voice of someone who has experience in governance second only to the President of the United States.”
It seems that almost every week, a celebrity has come out against cancel culture. Last week, “The Who” frontman Roger Daltrey denounced the woke generation for making life miserable for everyone.
“It’s just getting harder to disseminate the truth,” Daltrey said. “It’s almost like, now we should turn the whole thing off. Go back to newsprint, go back to word of mouth, and start to read books again. It’s becoming so absurd now with AI, all the tricks it can do, and the woke generation,” he said. “It’s terrifying, the miserable world they’re going to create for themselves. I mean, anyone who’s lived a life and you see what they’re doing, you just know that it’s a route to nowhere. Especially when you’ve lived through the periods of a life that we’ve had the privilege to. We’ve had the golden era. There’s no doubt about that.”

Judge Judy has taken her authoritative ethos out of the courtroom and onto the streets.
Speaking with the <a href="https://nypost.com/2020/12/14/judy-sheindlin-reflects-on-25-years-of-judge-judy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">New York Post</a>, the famed television personality said that she once scolded a fan for not wearing a mask during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Judge Judy, she was getting her hair styled at a salon when she saw a man indoors not wearing a mask, prompting her to confront him.
“I walked up to him and he looked at me and smiled. I was wearing my mask with my smock on and my hair was dripping wet. I said to him, ‘Do you like ‘Judge Judy?'&#8221; she recalled. &#8220;He said, ‘Oh yes,’ and I said, ‘Not after today,’ and I proceeded to lace into him about respecting other people and how other people are minding you by wearing a mask.&#8221;
&#8220;I said to him, ‘You must be some kind of narcissist or there’s something that I don’t see that makes you unique and special,'&#8221; she added.
After the confrontation, the man allegedly apologized.
Judge Judy is just one of many celebrities who have expressed displeasure over people breaking COVID-19 restrictions. Speaking with <a href="https://ew.com/music/taylor-swift-entertainers-of-the-year-2020/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Entertainment Weekly </a>recently, pop icon Taylor Swift lamented about the many people she sees in Tennessee flouting masks and social distancing, urging them to think of frontline healthcare workers.
&#8220;God, you hope people would respect it and would understand that going out for a night isn&#8217;t worth the ripple effect that it causes,&#8221; she said. &#8220;But obviously we&#8217;re seeing that a lot of people don&#8217;t seem to have their eyes open to that — or if they do, a lot of people don&#8217;t care, which is upsetting.&#8221;
Swift said the song &#8220;Epiphany&#8221; on her new album was inspired by her World War II veteran grandfather and how his battles relate to health-care workers.
&#8220;I did a lot of research on my grandfather in the beginning of quarantine, and it hit me very quickly that we&#8217;ve got a version of that trauma happening right now in our hospitals,&#8221; Swift said.
&#8220;You just immediately think of the health workers who are putting their lives on the line — and oftentimes losing their lives,&#8221; she added. &#8220;If they make it out of this, if they see the other side of it, there&#8217;s going to be a lot of trauma that comes with that; there&#8217;s going to be things that they witnessed that they will never be able to un-see.&#8221;
This past September, &#8220;Harry Potter&#8221; actor Jason Isaacs even went as far to say that people who violate mask mandates should be in jail or hanged in the streets.
“The thing about masks is, somehow I’m made less annoyed by the people who refuse to wear masks, who I think should be in the stocks or prison, than by the people who are wearing it with their nose sticking out,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harry-potter-star-jason-isaacs-non-mask-wearers-should-be-hanging-in-the-streets-or-in-prison">Isaacs said</a> on the British daytime chat show “Lorraine.&#8221;
“We all know that you transmit and receive it more through your nose. And what about the people who I’m talking to who pull it down to have a chat and put it back up again?” he continued. “They should be hanging in the streets.”
Celebrities from Tom Hanks to Matthew McConnaughey to Anna Camp have all advocated for people to wear masks and denounced those who refused to do so.
“I don’t get it. I simply do not get it. It is literally the least you can do,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tom-hanks-i-got-no-respect-for-people-who-dont-wear-masks">said Tom Hanks in July</a>. “And if anybody wants to build up an argument about doing the least you can do, I wouldn’t trust them with a driver’s license. I mean when you drive a car you have to obey speed limits, you got to use your turn signals, you have to avoid hitting pedestrians.”

On Tuesday, Judy Sheindlin, aka TV’s Judge Judy, ripped senator and current Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, asserting, “It’s really a joke to think that you can fool the American public when you’ve been in Congress for as many years as Bernie Sanders has.”
As <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/kyle-drennen/2020/03/03/judge-judy-overrules-bernies-socialist-revolution-its-joke">Newsbusters</a> reports, Sheindlin was a guest on MSNBC, where host Stephanie Ruhle prompted her response by asking, “You say that Senator Sanders’ revolution is a joke. Why?”
Sheindlin was off to the races, first referencing former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg: “This is the greatest country in the world. Nobody wants to leave this country. It may need tweaking. America is the land of opportunity. It’s a place where you can have big dreams, where you can be the hero of your own story, where you can look to realize that American dream. I did. I know Mike Bloomberg did.”
Then she turned to eviscerating Sanders and his socialist agenda:
<blockquote>Senator Sanders’ revolution is not what this country needs. It’s a revolution that, A, is a joke, because it’s fiscally impossible. And B, wherever it’s been tried on a large scale, it’s failed. I mean, if you look at socialism, when I looked at the definition, right next to it was a map of Venezuela. And you know how successful it was there.
Young people may get excited about the word “revolution.” Young people always want a revolution, then they grow up. So it’s really a joke to think that you can fool the American public when you’ve been in Congress for as many years as Bernie Sanders has been in Congress, who I think had either three or four bills passed in the 30 years that he’s been in Congress, and two of them were to name post offices.
To think that this is a man who can create a revolution, a peaceful revolution in this country and bring everyone together. I mean, the reason I came out from behind the closet and said I’m going to get involved in politics is because there was so much anger in America and I think you just need a pragmatic, practical doer.</blockquote>
Sheindlin dismissed former Vice President Joe Biden, saying, “Joe Biden is a nice guy; he really is a nice guy. We don’t need a sentimental vote in America today. This is a critical time in our country. I’m begging the people who are going to vote today, you want to be sentimental, turn on Sinatra. You want a president, you vote for Mike Bloomberg. He’s the only one who can get it done.”
Ruhle attempted to defend Sanders by noting that he had a whopping total of seven bills, not two: “With all due respect, Judy, Bernie Sanders had seven bills, not two or three. But put Senator Sanders aside – and it’s democratic socialism, not socialism i.e. Venezuela – to all of those people in the country who are faced with the $88 billion in medical debt, the $1.5 trillion in student debt. They can’t see the American dream that you have realized, that I’ve had the benefit to realize. So to them, they’re not just crazy kids looking for a revolution. What’s your message to them? Because they’re getting behind this movement. Because look at those numbers. They don’t see the dream.”
Sheindlin wasn’t buying it: “Let me tell you what the problem is. The problem is you need incremental change. You can’t do something that’s – it’s unfair to these people to promise something that’s unattainable. And if you want incremental change, and I’m telling you, the country needs tweaking, there are people out there who need more of an opening to realize that American dream that you and I have realized, but it’s unreasonable, it’s unfair, it’s mostly unjust to trick people into thinking that you can do what you say you’re going to do when, as you said, well, he passed seven bills. Seven bills in 30 years, with two post offices, is not a really great track record. So for somebody who wants a revolution and has named two post offices, that is – that is fooling the people out there who are struggling into thinking that he’s the answer. He’s not the answer.”

WATCH: Judge Judy Blasts Sanders: ‘A Joke To Think That You Can Fool The American Public’

After 25 seasons, &#8220;Judge Judy&#8221; is officially coming to an end, but host Judy Sheindlin — television&#8217;s top-paid personality — already has something new in the works.
The popular courtroom reality TV show host made the big announcement in an appearance on &#8220;The Ellen DeGeneres Show&#8221; on Monday and, like the seasoned professional that she is, teased the next big thing.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve had a 25-year-long marriage with CBS [Television Distribution, which distributes the show], and it&#8217;s been successful,&#8221; Sheindlin told DeGeneres, in comments reported by <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/judge-judy-ending-25-seasons-new-show-judy-justice-works-1282015">The Hollywood Reporter</a>.
CBS, Sheindlin explained, felt that it was time to end the show after more than two decades and to instead focus on &#8220;optimally utililiz[ing]&#8221; the reruns.
&#8220;Next year will be our 25th season, silver anniversary, and CBS sort of felt, I think, they wanted to optimally utilize the repeats of my program,&#8221; said Sheindlin. &#8220;Because now they have 25 years of reruns. So what they decided to do was to sell a couple of years&#8217; worth of reruns.&#8221;
As for herself, Judge Judy said she&#8217;s &#8220;not tired,&#8221; and, in fact, she&#8217;s already working on a new show &#8220;Judy Justice,&#8221; that will come out a year after this final season of her sunsetting show.
But on which network that show will air Sheindlin wouldn&#8217;t say. Asked about it by DeGeneres, Sheindlin said, &#8220;I can&#8217;t tell you yet.&#8221;
In its report on the announcement, THR notes that Sheindlin is &#8220;the highest-paid personality on TV, earning $47 million a year,&#8221; since signing her current deal back in 2015. In 2017, she worked out another blockbuster deal, where CBS bought the complete library of her show for nearly $100 million.
Sheindlin has been in the news as of late for more than just her beloved long-running show after weighing in on the 2020 presidential election, officially endorsing a candidate for the first time in her career back in October. The famous TV personality announced her endorsement of Democratic candidate Michael Bloomberg in an op-ed for <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2019/10/16/judge-judy-michael-bloomberg-presidential-race-2020-column/3984012002/">USA Today</a> in late-October.
“I was invited to speak at the Cambridge Union in England earlier this month, and it was an honor to meet with so many intelligent, socially involved people,&#8221; she wrote. &#8220;During the Q&amp;A that followed my remarks, the moderator asked my opinion about the 2020 presidential election, and I didn’t mince words. I said our American family has been fractured in recent years. We’re hopelessly divided, and a bitterly divided family cannot thrive.&#8221;
&#8220;The only way we can begin to come together again, I said, is if Michael Bloomberg, former mayor of New York City, becomes our next president,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;I realize I am taking a personal and a career risk in making such a statement. I have carefully stayed away from politics for 50 years, except to vote. But times have changed in our country, and I believe the moment has come for me to step out from behind the curtain. I want to speak honestly and from the heart — regardless of the consequences.&#8221;
Since penning the op-ed, she has continued to push for a Bloomberg presidency, including during an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-judge-judy-endorses-mike-bloomberg-2020-on-the-view-greatest-president">appearance</a> on &#8220;The View&#8221; in January.

‘Judge Judy’ Canceled After 25 Seasons; Sheindlin Announces New Show, Teases Which Network It’ll Be On

After endorsing former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg in an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/judge-judy-makes-first-presidential-endorsement-of-her-career-bloomberg">op-ed</a> for USA Today last October, Judge Judy Sheindlin appeared on ABC&#8217;s &#8220;The View&#8221; Monday to further explain her position, arguing that Bloomberg could be the &#8220;greatest president&#8221; to bring a divided America together in this time of intense political infighting.

Judge Judy pointed to his role as mayor of New York City as evidence of Bloomberg&#8217;s ability to govern, arguing that the city&#8217;s diversity demonstrates that he can bring people together. Her argument fails to address Bloomberg&#8217;s many missteps, including the controversial &#8220;stop and frisk&#8221; law that enraged progressives at the time.
“There was a good feeling [under Bloomberg], it was a feeling that things were run effectively and efficiently during his 12 years as mayor,” Judge Judy said. “I felt that way when he was the mayor and he’s a brilliant, self-made guy.”
“If he’s successful and happened to have made money being successful, that folks, is the American dream,” she added.

Judge Judy received no pushback from &#8220;The View&#8221; hosts for her position on Bloomberg. Following her assertion, the hosts played a 30-second video from the Bloomberg&#8217;s official campaign in which she praised the former mayor for being a man that gets things done.
“I like to say you can judge someone’s character by what they’ve done,” she said in the video. “Mike Bloomberg has done amazing things and will be a truly great president. No one comes close to Mike Bloomberg’s executive achievement, government experience and impactful philanthropy. His steady leadership will unite our country and bring us through these very challenging times.”
Judge Judy&#8217;s praise of Bloomberg on both &#8220;The View&#8221; and in the video nearly echoed verbatim what she wrote in the USA Today op-ed.
“The only way we can begin to come together again, I said, is if Michael Bloomberg, former mayor of New York City, becomes our next president,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/judge-judy-makes-first-presidential-endorsement-of-her-career-bloomberg">she wrote</a> this past October. “I realize I am taking a personal and a career risk in making such a statement. I have carefully stayed away from politics for 50 years, except to vote. But times have changed in our country, and I believe the moment has come for me to step out from behind the curtain.”
&#8220;An independent, tough-minded businessman, he represents our best chance to bring America together again and begin the long national process of healing,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Unlike those on the far the right and the far left who use their bully pulpit to divide us, he’s a pragmatist, a man who has shown time and again that he knows how to get things done and cares more about results than ideology. That’s a skill in short supply these days, on both sides.&#8221;
While Judge Judy is clearly enthused about the prospect of a President Bloomberg, the Democratic base has paid him little attention. Thus far he has failed to gain any traction among the Democratic field, usually coming in a distant <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/us/2020_democratic_presidential_nomination-6730.html">5th place</a>.

Judy Sheindlin, more commonly known as Judge Judy revealed earlier in October that she is supporting former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg for president, even though he has yet to formally enter the presidential race.
&#8220;I realize I am taking a personal and a career risk in making such a statement. I have carefully stayed away from politics for 50 years, except to vote,&#8221; Sheindlin wrote in an op-ed for <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2019/10/16/judge-judy-michael-bloomberg-presidential-race-2020-column/3984012002/">USA Today</a>. &#8220;But times have changed in our country, and I believe the moment has come for me to step out from behind the curtain. I want to speak honestly and from the heart — regardless of the consequences.&#8221;
Sheindlin, who holds the title of the highest-paid personality on television, explained that she was asked about her views on the upcoming presidential election while she was speaking at the Cambridge Union in England.
&#8220;I didn&#8217;t mince words. I said our American family has been fractured in recent years. We&#8217;re hopelessly divided, and a bitterly divided family cannot thrive,&#8221; she explained. &#8220;The only way we can begin to come together again, I said, is if Michael Bloomberg, former mayor of New York City, becomes our next president.&#8221;
Over the past decade, Bloomberg has been repeatedly floated as a potential candidate to represent the centrist lane of the Democratic party. He was notably a Democrat for the majority of his adult life before switching to the Republican Party in 2001 before his term as mayor began. However, midway through his term, he again changed his party affiliation to Independent before rejoining the Democratic Party in 2018.
The former New York mayor was enmeshed in speculation about launching a bid for the presidency in 2008, 2012, and 2016. After Bloomberg announced that he was contributing at least $80 million to Democratic candidates during the 2018 congressional elections and subsequently registered as a Democrat, rumors of his impending entry into the 2020 presidential race again began swirling.
Bloomberg announced in March 2019 that he would not be launching a bid for the presidency, and instead urged Americans to &#8220;nominate a Democrat who will be in the strongest position to defeat Donald Trump.&#8221; However, only days before Sheindlin publicly endorsed Bloomberg, he revealed that he was still mulling over a bid, contingent on former Vice President Joe Biden dropping out of the race.
&#8220;I realize Michael Bloomberg said in March that he will not run for president in 2020 &#8230; I respect his comment &#8212; but our political landscape has changed profoundly since he made it,&#8221; Sheindlin said. &#8220;There is ferment on the left and the right, candidacies are rising and falling, and this has created an opportunity for Bloomberg, a man of the center, to change his mind.&#8221;

She went one to argue that Bloomberg is the only person &#8220;who seems to understand that screaming at one another gets us nowhere.&#8221; Accordingly, she lamented the loss of civil debate and respect in differences of opinion.
&#8220;America is a young country, compared with the nations of Europe and Asia, and we still have a spectacular story to tell the world,&#8221; Sheindlin said. &#8220;But we&#8217;re also a work in progress, and the 2020 presidential election will be one of the most important in our history.&#8221;
Sheindlin&#8217;s public support of Bloomberg is the first time she has endorsed a political candidate in the more than two decades since she has began presiding on her television show &#8220;Judge Judy.&#8221;
