Liberal &#8220;Fox News Sunday&#8221; contributor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/juan-williams-thinks-evan-mcmullin-could-beat-mike-lee-because-of-star-wars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Juan Williams</a> gave an impassioned defense of President Joe Biden&#8217;s embattled son <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/comer-urges-feds-not-to-indict-hunter-biden-before-wednesday" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hunter</a> — and the president as well — but former Republican House Speaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bette-midler-goes-on-unhinged-rant-against-fox-news-host-rupert-murdoch-and-newt-gingrich-calling-for-them-to-be-arrested-and-more" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Newt Gingrich</a> quickly settled the score.
Both <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/juan-williams-exits-the-five" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Williams</a> and Gingrich joined host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/shannon-bream-lands-permanent-fox-news-sunday-gig" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Shannon Bream</a> for the panel discussion portion of the Sunday morning show, and the temperature around the table quickly heated up when the topic turned to Hunter Biden.

Williams began by acknowledging the younger Biden&#8217;s personal issues — particularly drugs and sex — and argued that despite the situation being less than optimal, the only thing he believed Joe Biden was truly guilty of was trying to help and protect his son.
&#8220;We know Hunter Biden’s an addict, we know he’s an alcoholic. We know he’s had sex addiction problems. We know he’s not the son you would have. But Joe Biden acted as a father trying to protect his son and trying to help his son. I don’t think anyone’s gonna fault him for that,&#8221; Williams said.
&#8220;But you compare that to the graft and the grifting from Trump golf courses, Trump hotels, Chinese shoe deals with the daughter, and the son-in-law getting billions from the Saudis. It’s unbelievable,&#8221; Williams continued, immediately pivoting to turn the attack on former President Donald Trump. &#8220;Even this week you have to compare it to the trouble we’ve heard about in New York with the sexual assault case against Trump. But this is what Hunter Biden has come down to now. He is a distraction, a shield against all the trouble that Trump is experiencing.&#8221;
Gingrich pushed back, arguing that the lucrative international business deals — to which multiple members of the Biden family, the president included, have been connected — should not be brushed aside so easily.
&#8220;There are facts. The widow of the Moscow mayor sent millions of dollars to Hunter Biden. He got money from Kazakhstan,&#8221; Gingrich replied. &#8220;He got money from Ukraine and served on a board about which he knew nothing. He got a lot of money from China and it’s a fact, Juan, that there were $3 million that has been disclosed that went to the Biden family from a Chinese billionaire.&#8221;
&#8220;Now you can decide that none of this stuff matters, but the fact is you have the Vice President of the United States taking his son on Air Force Two into China where his son is making business deals. And you just described his son. Your language, he’s a sex addict, he’s an alcoholic —&#8221; Gingrich continued.
Williams jumped back in then, asking, &#8220;Is that an attack on the president? He’s not the president! He’s the son! Nepotism is not a crime! You look at the nepotism in every president and every famous family but that’s not a crime.&#8221;
Bream interjected then, noting that members of both the Trump family and the Biden family had been the targets of accusations regarding nepotism, and asked whether a double standard might be in play.
&#8220;Look, I think you have a son, Joe Biden’s son, Hunter who might make some business deals. Newt describes this as millions flowing to the family. Kind of amorphous. But I know specifically of two billion dollars that went to Jared Kushner and nobody’s gonna argue about that,&#8221; Williams said again.
But Gingrich was not convinced, and he argued that based on Williams&#8217; own description of Hunter Biden, no serious business was going to invest in him unless they thought they could use him to get something better: &#8220;They were investing in Joe.&#8221;

Fox News Democrat political analyst Juan Williams named Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) as America&#8217;s most influential political player in 2022 despite being terrified of him.
Williams highlighted DeSantis&#8217; &#8220;enormous&#8221; impact this year, ranging from dominating the culture war in Florida, to getting the Republican Party more seats in the U.S. House of Representatives by <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/20/us/politics/florida-redistricting-maps-desantis.html">redrawing</a> Florida&#8217;s congressional districts himself, to turning the state of Florida from a purple state to a deep red state.
&#8220;He is not my cup of tea. In fact, he scares me,&#8221; Williams <a href="https://thehill.com/opinion/3750868-juan-williams-desantis-is-2022s-most-important-politician-unfortunately/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> in an op-ed for The Hill. &#8220;But it is time for me to hand out my year-end award for the top political player in the United States.&#8221;
&#8220;The one politician who stands out at year’s end is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R),&#8221; Williams said. &#8220;His commanding 19-point reelection victory, as well as his success in attracting mega-donors like Ken Griffin, Steve Ross, and Steve Schwarzman ahead of a possible 2024 presidential campaign, make him the past year’s big GOP winner.&#8221;
As noted by Williams, DeSantis has received backing from major GOP <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-gop-megadonor-indicates-war-on-woke-ideology-in-schools-backs-desantis-for-president" target="_blank" rel="noopener">megadonors</a> in recent weeks.
Twitter CEO Elon Musk said Friday that he would support DeSantis for president in 2024 should DeSantis decide to run.
Musk made the remarks on his social media platform in response to a tweet about how the political Left erupted in anger at him letting former President Donald Trump back on the platform after he was banned in January 2021.
“I’m fine with Trump not tweeting,” Musk <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1596275526259425280" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “The important thing is that Twitter correct a grave mistake in banning his account, despite no violation of the law or terms of service. Deplatforming a sitting President undermined public trust in Twitter for half of America.”
“As a reminder, I was a significant supporter of the Obama-Biden presidency and (reluctantly) voted for Biden over Trump,” Musk continued. “But freedom of speech is the bedrock of a strong democracy and must take precedence. My preference for the 2024 presidency is someone sensible and centrist. I had hoped that would the case for the Biden administration, but have been disappointed so far.”
Musk then was asked, “Would you support Ron DeSantis in 2024, Elon?”
Musk responded, “Yes.”

Williams laid out the case for McMullin — and for a viable third party in general — in a <a href="https://thehill.com/opinion/3660943-juan-williams-an-odd-race-in-utah-gives-hope-to-the-nation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">column</a> published by The Hill on Monday. He noted that the race was certainly a long shot, especially for a third-party candidate, and compared it to the final scene of &#8220;Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.&#8221; McMullin, he said, was no different from Luke Skywalker attempting to take out the Death Star.

Williams&#8217; column, titled &#8220;An odd race in Utah gives hope to the nation,&#8221; opened with the fact that only eight independent U.S. Senators have been elected since 1971 — and noted that the Utah race is just strange enough to possibly deliver a ninth.
Dubbed &#8220;the strangest Senate race in America&#8221; by Politico, the Utah Senate race features an incumbent Republican (Lee), no Democrat, and McMullin running as an independent. McMullin has the support of some Utah Democrats in this contest.
&#8220;What takes it beyond strange to significant is that a McMullin win potentially opens a new way for politicians to get out of the rut of polarized, do-nothing, two-party politics,&#8221; Williams opined. &#8220;Think of McMullin as Luke Skywalker, the rebel pilot in Star Wars, trying to blow up the Empire’s star ship.&#8221;
Williams went on to note that American voters have often said that they would like to see a viable <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/329639/support-third-political-party-high-point.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">third-party</a> option — but that when it came time to vote, nothing changed.
&#8220;Last year, 62 percent of voters told Gallup they want a third-party alternative to the Republicans and Democrats. Those numbers mean McMullin is an underdog in the right place at the right time to benefit from widespread discontent,&#8221; Williams explained, adding, &#8220;In other words, to continue the Star Wars analogy, a lot of people well beyond Utah’s corners are hoping &#8216;The Force&#8217; is with McMullin.&#8221;
According to <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/mike-lee-narrowly-leads-evan-mcmullin-utah-senate-race-poll-2022-9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recent polling</a>, Lee still holds a slight lead over McMullin — 36%-34% — but another 16% of those polled said that they had not yet made a decision about the race.

Juan Williams, the liberal panelist on Fox News Channel’s “The Five,” announced he is departing the show to stay near his family in the nation’s capital, but he will continue appearing as a commentator on the top-rated cable network.
“This is my last day hosting ‘The Five,’” Williams said on the show’s concluding “One More Thing” segment Wednesday afternoon.
Williams, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/juan-williams-tests-positive-for-covid-19">tested positive</a> for COVID-19 last December, said that the experience “taught me a lot of lessons. As the show goes back to the New York studio, I’ll be staying in D.C.”
“I’ll be working for Fox out of Washington. My work as a Fox News political analyst will continue,” he said.
He <a href="https://video.foxnews.com/v/6256162513001#sp=show-clips">offered</a> a heartfelt thanks for his experiences in the host’s chair. “You know it’s been going on seven years since I have been a daily host of this show. The show’s popularity has grown every single year,” he said. “So, thank you — thank you so much to you, the viewers. Thank you.”
Last week, “The Five” <a href="https://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/week-of-may-17-cable-network-ranker-fox-news-marks-14-straight-weeks-at-no-1-but-posts-week-to-week-losses/479244/">ranked</a> as the fourth most-viewed show on cable news. This Tuesday, “The Five” attracted nearly <a href="https://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/tuesday-may-25-scoreboard-fox-news-remains-no-1-tucker-carlson-and-rachel-maddow-have-2-most-watched-shows/479497/">2.5 million</a> total viewers — nearly as much as CNN’s top three shows combined.
“We are incredibly grateful for [Williams’] commitment to the show and its success over the last several years,” said Megan Albano, vice president of weekend primetime and “The Five” at Fox News, in a statement.
Williams chose to leave when it was announced that the show, which has been shot remotely during the coronavirus pandemic, was set to return to its New York City location on June 1. Albano said the staff recognized that “a remote co-hosting role on a roundtable in-studio program was not a long-term option.”
“While we will miss his insightful contributions each night and look forward to welcoming him on set whenever he’s in New York, we are pleased to have him continue his longtime role as a senior political analyst with Fox News Media,” she concluded.
Fox News will not alter the ideological diversity of the show. FNC “plans to feature a rotating series of liberal cohosts on the show until a permanent liberal replacement is named,” <a href="https://deadline.com/2021/05/juan-williams-the-five-fox-news-1234764928/">according</a> to Deadline.com. Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch recently <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/media/553565-lachlan-murdoch-center-left-viewers-helping-fuel-fox-news-ratings?rl=1">said</a> he believes much of his network’s new viewership comes from those on the center-Left.
After Williams’ announcement on Wednesday, Dana Perino introduced a montage of lighthearted moments showing him going to concerts, attending football games, and bonding with his “Five Family.”
Perino closed by offering a farewell on behalf of the rest of the crew. “It’s a real honor and a pleasure to work with you, Juan, and we’re glad that you know you made a good decision for yourself and for your family, and definitely, you will be missed,” said Perino.
“Special Report” host Bret Baier had more goodwill for Williams at the show’s 6 p.m. hand-off.
“Hey Juan, congratulations,” said Baier. “We welcome you in D.C. with open arms.”

Fox News co-host Juan Williams tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, prompting the other co-hosts of &#8220;The Five&#8221; to broadcast remotely and Williams to go into quarantine.
Rumors circulated about the 66-year-old Williams&#8217; diagnosis after he was not seen on Thursday&#8217;s episode &#8220;The Five,&#8221; and two sources informed <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/03/business/media/fox-news-juan-williams-coronavirus.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">The New York Times</a> that he had tested positive that morning at Fox News headquarters in New York City.
A Fox spokesperson declined to confirm whether Williams had tested positive for COVID-19, citing employee confidentiality, but Williams confirmed to <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/media/528717-fox-news-co-host-juan-williams-tests-positive-for-covid-19" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">The Hill</a> that he had contracted the virus and is quarantining at a hotel in Washington, D.C., to avoid spreading the illness to his wife. He added that he is experiencing &#8220;flu-like symptoms&#8221; such as chills and headaches.
“I’m not great but I’m not dying or anything,&#8221; Williams told <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/fox-news-juan-williams-tests-positive-for-covid-19" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">The Daily Beast</a>. &#8220;I’m worried about myself and my family. My wife doesn’t want me to come back to the house right now. On lots of levels it’s concerning.&#8221;
&#8220;I’m just worried about my health and my family at this juncture,&#8221; he added. “You have to guard against vagrant dark thoughts. The thing is what can do for you until things get bad?&#8221;
“Since the start of the pandemic, Fox News Media has implemented strict company-wide protocols adhering to all CDC and state guidelines, including regular testing of all in studio on-air personalities, mask mandates and daily health assessments for all employees entering the building,&#8221; a Fox spokesperson said in a statement. &#8220;We will continue to take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our staff, including broadcasting The Five via home studios for the foreseeable future.&#8221;
&#8220;The Five&#8221; had been broadcasting remotely since the widespread outbreak of the pandemic in March but had returned to in-studio filming in September, albeit with approximately seven feet between each co-host. Williams had been in-studio as recently as Wednesday, a few days after having returned from a vacation he left for on Nov. 18.
Since Williams&#8217; diagnosis, the show will be remote for the foreseeable future.
Williams and other Fox News employees have been potentially exposed to COVID-19 before, perhaps most notably in September at the first presidential debate in Cleveland, which took place days before President Donald Trump tested positive for COVID-19. Also possibly exposed at that event was Fox News anchor and debate moderator Chris Wallace, who later tested negative.
Williams is a routinely left-leaning voice on one of Fox News&#8217; highest-rated shows, where he often engages in heated disagreements with his more conservative co-hosts such as Jesse Waters and Greg Gutfeld. On Wednesday, Williams and Waters got into a back-and-forth over Trump&#8217;s claims about voter fraud in the 2020 election, during which Williams called Waters&#8217; support for the president&#8217;s assertions &#8220;shameful.&#8221;

On Friday, Juan Williams, one of the co-hosts of “The Five” on Fox News, claimed that President Trump called Mexicans “rapists and thieves” during his 2015 announcement speech.
During the segment, the hosts were discussing recent calls by progressives for a boycott campaign against Latin food company Goya after its CEO, Bob Unanue, praised President Trump and subsequently refused to walk his statements back.
“Their hate is so dug in,” co-host Jeanine Pirro said after claiming that leftists seem zeroed in on criticizing the Right without recognizing their accomplishments for the needy.
The co-host added that those on the Right didn’t “do this to Obama” despite many disliking him intensely. “But this is like cancel them out, boycott them, make them lose their jobs.”
“Aren’t you uncomfortable with that?” Pirro asked co-host Juan Williams.
Williams replied:
<blockquote>I don’t like boycotts if that’s what you’re asking &#8230; but let me just say, we live in politically polarized times, and if you’re talking about who likes division, President Trump pushes buttons of division and polarization quite regularly. I think you’ll remember he started his campaign by going after Latin immigrants. He said Mexicans were rapists and thieves.</blockquote>
As some of the other hosts voiced their disagreement with Williams’ claim, Pirro replied: “He didn’t say that.”
The segment continued with extensive crosstalk between Pirro and Williams.

Williams’ characterization of President Trump’s remarks about Mexican immigrants being “rapists and thieves” lacks context, and has been rebutted numerous times.
In June 2015, Donald Trump announced his candidacy for president.
During his <a href="https://time.com/3923128/donald-trump-announcement-speech/">speech</a>, he said the following about the economic dynamics between the United States and several other countries:
<blockquote>Our country is in serious trouble. We don’t have victories anymore. We used to have victories, but we don’t have them. When was the last time anybody saw us beating, let’s say, China in a trade deal? They kill us. I beat China all the time. All the time.
When did we beat Japan at anything? They send their cars over by the millions, and what do we do? When was the last time you saw a Chevrolet in Tokyo? It doesn’t exist, folks. They beat us all the time.
When do we beat Mexico at the border? They’re laughing at us, at our stupidity, and now they are beating us economically. They are not our friend, believe me, but they’re killing us economically. The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems&#8230;
It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs; they’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.
But I speak to border guards, and they tell us what we’re getting. And it only makes common sense. It only makes common sense. They’re sending us not the right people.
It’s coming from more than Mexico. It’s coming from all over South and Latin America, and it’s coming probably – probably – from the Middle East. But we don’t know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don’t know what’s happening. And it’s got to stop, and it’s got to stop fast.</blockquote>
In context, it’s clear that President Trump wasn’t claiming that “Mexicans were rapists and thieves,” as suggested by Juan Williams, but that a subset of individuals entering the United States from Mexico were criminals – which is a factually accurate statement.

On Tuesday, news reports broke that CNN shelled out a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-covington-catholic-student-nick-sandmann-gets-settlement-from-cnn-after-275-million-lawsuit?itm_source=parsely-api">settlement</a> to Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann after the teen filed a $275 million suit against the network for smearing him last year.
On Wednesday, Fox News co-host Juan Williams speculated that CNN settled with Sandmann to avoid &#8220;discovery,&#8221; where the network&#8217;s internal communications and emails would become public.
&#8220;I think a lot of people who don&#8217;t like CNN are quick to rush and say, &#8216;Oh this means CNN admitted that they did wrong.&#8217; I think — I know lawyers — the lawyers are like, &#8216;Oh, if we have to go through discovery then that means emails and discussions are gonna be revealed. We may not want that out,'&#8221; Williams <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/shows/the-five">explained</a>.

&#8220;Juan, like you said, when you go into discovery — I used to have clients who you talk to them and say, &#8216;Listen, this is how much it&#8217;s gonna cost you to go to trial, this is what they want in settlement, what do you wanna do?&#8217; And some people would say yeah, we don&#8217;t want all that stuff out there, we&#8217;ll pay,&#8221; Bream explained.
&#8220;I&#8217;d have other clients who would say, we will not pay a dime because what we&#8217;re worried about is if we pay this person, the next one is gonna want it and the next one and the next one,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;So, CNN had to make a lot of calculations here just beyond the legal issues.&#8221;
The details of the CNN settlement with Sandmann have remained undisclosed.
Sandmann and other teens from Covington Catholic were smeared by multiple news outlets after an out-of-context video clip of a “standoff” between the teens and a Native American activist Nathan Phillips went viral last year. However, further video footage debunked the media&#8217;s narrative that Sandmann and company were &#8220;blocking&#8221; and &#8220;harassing&#8221; Phillips. Instead, it was shown that the teens were victims of harassment themselves and Sandmann was trying to deescalate the confrontation after Phillips approached the teens.
As noted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-covington-catholic-student-nick-sandmann-gets-settlement-from-cnn-after-275-million-lawsuit?itm_source=parsely-api">The Daily Wire</a> on Tuesday, the teen has also filed suits against The Washington Post and NBC Universal for $250 million or more each and is reportedly seeking to “sue Gannett, owners of The Enquirer.”
“CNN was probably more vicious in its direct attacks on Nicholas than The Washington Post. And CNN goes into millions of individuals’ homes,” Sandmann attorney Lin Wood <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-cnn-be-sued-250-million-over-vicious-ryan-saavedra">told</a> Fox News last year. “CNN couldn’t resist the idea that here’s a guy with a young boy, with that Make America Great Again cap on. So they go after him.”
“They really went after Nicholas with the idea that he was part of a mob that was attacking the Black Hebrew Israelites, yelling racist slurs at the Black Hebrew Israelites. Totally false,” the famous attorney explained. “Now you say you’ve seen the tape; if you took the time to look at the full context of what happened that day, Nicholas Sandmann did absolutely nothing wrong. He was, as I’ve said to others, he was the only adult in the room.”

Juan Williams Explains Why CNN Likely Settled Covington Suit

The scene over at Fox News&#8217; &#8220;The Five&#8221; on Wednesday got really uncomfortable between co-hosts Greg Gutfeld and Juan Williams when the latter, the most left-leaning voice on the team, accused Gutfeld and others of being deep &#8220;in the bunker.&#8221;
The increasingly tense exchange, which resulted in Gutfeld threatening to throw Williams off the set, occurred during the co-hosts&#8217; analysis of the testimony of Donald Trump&#8217;s former personal lawyer-turned-&#8220;rat&#8221; Michael Cohen.
Cohen <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/44000/here-are-checks-cohen-claims-are-proof-trumps-role-james-barrett">told</a> the House Oversight Committee Wednesday that his former boss &#8212; for whom he once said he&#8217;d &#8220;take a bullet&#8221; &#8212; is a &#8220;racist,&#8221; &#8220;conman,&#8221; and a &#8220;cheat,&#8221; who has been involved in &#8220;illicit acts.&#8221; Presenting what he describes as &#8220;irrefutable&#8221; evidence of Trump&#8217;s wrongdoing, including after taking office, Cohen painted Trump in all the ways Democrats have repeatedly portrayed him. But Cohen also admitted that he had no evidence whatsoever of collusion and failed to present solid evidence of clear illegal actions.
When Williams and co-host Dana Perino began discussing Trump&#8217;s &#8220;pattern&#8221; of using the &#8220;catch-and-kill&#8221; strategy to kill unflattering stories of him, Gutfeld slammed Williams for failing to let panelist Morgan Ortagus talk.
&#8220;Gosh, are you guys gonna ever let me finish!&#8221; exclaimed Williams.
&#8220;No, because you&#8217;re always &#8216;finishing&#8217;!&#8221; said Gutfeld. &#8220;There&#8217;s somebody sitting there who hasn&#8217;t said a damn word!&#8221;
&#8220;You are so deep in the bunker and&#8212;&#8221; Williams began, but Gutfeld, clearly livid, cut him off.
&#8220;Oh shut up, Juan!&#8221; yelled Gutfeld. &#8220;I&#8217;m in nobody&#8217;s &#8216;bunker.&#8217; Enough with your &#8216;bunker&#8217;&#8212;! I&#8217;m trying to be polite to somebody on the panel, Juan &#8212; which you won&#8217;t do, which you won&#8217;t do!&#8221;
Juan sniffed in disgust, &#8220;Oh my god.&#8221;
Later, as Jesse Watters dismisses Cohen&#8217;s testimony as having failed to provide any meaningful new evidence, Williams drops his &#8220;bunker&#8221; reference again. This time, Gutfeld goes nuclear.
&#8220;Again, you&#8217;re so blind, because you, like Greg, are deep in the bunker.&#8221;
&#8220;You know, if you say that again, I&#8217;m going to throw you off the set,&#8221; says Gutfeld, apparently serious.
&#8220;Oh no!&#8221; Williams says mockingly.
&#8220;Because you know what the bunker means?&#8221; says Gutfeld, leaning in and pointing at him across the table. &#8220;What your intimating is that who is in the bunker? Adolf Hitler, correct?&#8221;
&#8220;No I was not,&#8221; says Williams.
&#8220;No, no, no, that&#8217;s what you&#8217;re saying.&#8221;
&#8220;You&#8217;re so far off,&#8221; says Williams, repeating, &#8220;No,&#8221; and trying to explain himself.
&#8220;You choose the worst intent of people&#8217;s words,&#8221; says Gutfeld. &#8220;Like when I say that I believe something, I&#8217;m in the bunker.&#8221;

One of the most analyzed moments from Cohen&#8217;s testimony Wednesday was his claim that he did not want a job in the White House. Cohen, who pleaded guilty to lying to Congress last year and was sentenced in December to three years in prison for multiple counts of fraud and campaign finance violations, was asked by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) if he was bitter about Trump not getting him a job in the White House.
&#8220;How long did you work in the White House?&#8221; Jordan asked.
&#8220;I never worked in the White House,&#8221; said Cohen.
&#8220;That&#8217;s the point, isn&#8217;t it, Mr. Cohen?&#8221; said Jordan. &#8220;You wanted to work in the White House, but you didn&#8217;t get brought to the dance.&#8221;
Cohen denied Jordan&#8217;s claim, saying he was &#8220;extremely proud to be personal attorney to the President of the United States of America.&#8221;
Even <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/44045/cohen-claims-he-didnt-want-work-white-house-cnn-ryan-saavedra">CNN had to call out Cohen </a>on that one, noting that this is yet more evidence that he&#8217;s willing to lie to Congress under oath.

Does the present status of immigration amplify undesirable social fragmentation while dissolving the cultural glue of America? Fox News Channel colleagues Tucker Carlson and Juan Williams discussed the question on Monday.
Immigration over recent decades has wrought unprecedented changes to America&#8217;s demographics, said Carlson, pointing to a <a href="https://cis.org/Report/US-Immigrant-Population-Hit-Record-437-Million-2016">Monday-published study</a> via the Center for Immigration Studies indicating that America is home to 43.7 million immigrants, amounting to 13.5% of the population:

What&#8217;s the effect on the population [already in America]? You can&#8217;t switch out your population to this degree and not have some kind of social volatility. Why does the average person not get to weigh in on this very often?
</blockquote>
Williams described &#8220;populism&#8221; as &#8220;tribal&#8221; while pointing to exceptional immigrants such as Google co-founder Sergey Brin as evidence of aggregate national economic benefits from the present status of immigration.
Carlson cast contemporary immigration policies as fracturing America on &#8220;basic questions&#8221; regarding American identity:

We&#8217;re asking basic questions, like what ties us all together? Why are we all in this together? Do you not see any correlation between massive immigration since 1965 and where we are now? Tucker Carlson And Juan Williams Battle Over Immigration

Illegal immigration provides a net benefit to the American economy, said Juan Williams during a Wednesday interview with David&#8217;s Webb eponymous radio program on Sirius XM.

Illegal immigrants were being shortchanged in terms of their contributions to government coffers via taxes while not having full access to the complete menu of governmentally-administered redistributive public benefits, added Williams. Williams said that illegal immigrants were paying more to the government via taxes than they were receiving in benefits.
Asked whether &#8220;chain-migration&#8221; associated with the Hart-Celler Act of 1965 had contributed to a &#8220;suppression of middle class wages,&#8221; Williams answered in the negative.

&#8220;People don&#8217;t take into account the tremendous economic dynamism that&#8217;s been introduced to the country by immigrants. And the idea that illegal immigrant are somehow, you know, sucking off the tit of the country and not contributing &#8211; they don&#8217;t even get to collect on the taxes that they pay into the country,&#8221; replied Williams.

Research studies from the <a href="http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2013/05/the-fiscal-cost-of-unlawful-immigrants-and-amnesty-to-the-us-taxpayer">Heritage Foundation</a> and <a href="http://cis.org/Welfare-Use-Immigrant-Native-Households">Center For Immigration Studies</a> contradict Williams&#8217;s assertions, indicating that illegal immigrants, on balance, are net consumers of redistributed welfare programs driven by the government.

Williams made no mention of the costs associated with combating the commissions of crimes committed by illegal immigrants. Contrary to <a href="http://immigrationpolicy.org/special-reports/criminalization-immigration-united-states">left-wing narratives to the contrary</a>, and setting aside crimes pertaining to their unlawful presence in the country, illegal immigrants are <a href="http://www.manhattan-institute.org/html/testimony-heather-mac-donald-immigration-and-alien-gang-epidemic-problems-and-solutions-6044">disproportionately</a> <a href="http://www.city-journal.org/html/illegal-alien-crime-wave-12492.html">represented</a> in the <a href="http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/07/07/illegal-immigrants-accounted-for-nearly-37-percent-of-federal-sentences-in-fy-2014/">commission</a> of <a href="http://cis.org/ImmigrantCrime">crime</a>.

Given Williams&#8217;s support for widespread legalization of the continuing presence of foreigners&#8217; illegally in the country under the guise of &#8220;comprehensive immigration reform,&#8221; observers can assume that he wants amnestied illegal aliens to be given access to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment insurance, workers&#8217; compensation, food stamps, public housing, and a plethora of other governmentally-driven redistributive welfare programs.

On Fox News&#8217; The Five Thursday, co-host <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/the-five/hosts/greg-gutfeld">Greg Gutfeld</a> called out the Left&#8217;s desperate efforts to deny the threat of radical Islam and steer public discourse in the direction of gun control. Unlike mass shootings by individuals, he argued, radical Islam is not &#8220;self-limiting&#8221; and the threat it poses ultimately &#8220;dwarfs&#8221; those posed by lone killers. 
Gutfeld&#8217;s comments came during a heated exchange with liberal co-host Juan Williams about the response to the mass shooting by a <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/1556/heres-everything-we-know-about-san-bernardino-ben-shapiro">radicalized Muslim couple</a> in San Bernardino, California. President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and other Democratic leaders immediately used the tragedy as another excuse to <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/1568/republicans-say-radical-islam-about-san-bernardino-aaron-bandler">push their gun control agenda</a>, while downplaying the apparent jihadist motivations of the killers and ignoring that guns were not the only weapons at play in the attack. The Right, meanwhile has focused more on the increasing threat of radicalization by terror groups like ISIS and al Qaeda. 
Gutfeld accused Williams and the Left of being unwilling to &#8220;acknowledge&#8221; the reality of the threat posed by radical Islam&#8212;something Williams denied, while continuing to refuse to state conclusively that the attack was &#8220;terror.&#8221; Gutfeld argued that the Left&#8217;s attempt to redirect attention away from radical Islam is a &#8220;recurring&#8221; tactic.

By turning this into a gun issue, Juan, you pay less attention to the real threat. This is not about mass shooting. This was an act of terrorism. It&#8217;s saying it&#8217;s a mass shooting, tells America to worry less about, perhaps the biggest, greatest threat to civilization&#8212;the threat that&#8217;s going to affect your grandkids, Juan, long after you&#8217;re gone.&#8221; 
Arguing that the San Bernardino tragedy &#8220;splits the politics into two camps,&#8221; one that &#8220;screams&#8221; about &#8220;mass shootings&#8221; and the other that points to &#8220;Islamic terror,&#8221; Gutfeld maintained that the latter is far worse because, as opposed to being &#8220;self-limiting&#8221; it seeks to promote a &#8220;mass movement.&#8221; 
&#8220;A mass shooter in the end is self-limiting,&#8221; argued Gutfeld. &#8220;They will shoot a lot of people. In the end, they either commit suicide or they are shot. It&#8217;s finite. It&#8217;s over until another one happens. However, a terrorist, when they create an act, it&#8217;s to create a further act, to beget a greater terror, to get a mass movement to create apocalypse.&#8221;

WILLIAM: I acknowledge it to you. What is wrong?
GUTFELD: The point is, when you wish you were wrong, you know you are. Because the reality is so frightening that you can&#8217;t face it.
