<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Comedian Bill Maher and leftist actor John Leguizamo argued about immigration on a recent episode of his podcast.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Leguizamo accused White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller of being a racist for his role as &#8220;the architect&#8221; of Trump&#8217;s deportation policies, but Maher argued that the Biden administration is to blame for inviting the masses to enter unlawfully.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Part of this is a backlash to how badly Biden handled the immigration situation. It can’t just be like ‘Come one, come all,’” he said during the new &#8220;Club Random with Bill Maher&#8221; episode that aired on Monday.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“There’s plenty of room here,” Leguizamo complained. “There’s plenty of room in America, come on. There’s no lack of room in America.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“It’s never about room. It’s about resources,” Maher shot back. “Countries have to have a border,” he went on. “I mean, they’ve done surveys and something like 200 million people around the world when asked, ‘Would you come to America if you could?’ ‘Yes, I would.’ Why wouldn’t they? Lots of countries, excuse me, are sh**holes, and they would love to be here.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“The places aren’t sh**holes,” Leguizamo said in response.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Well, they are,” Maher replied. “That’s why they want to come.”</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Leguizamo goes on to say that immigrants are “building the country” and doing all the jobs no one wants to do, which Maher agreed with, but says when it comes to immigration, “there has to be some order to it.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Leguizamo also discussed meeting Trump before his political career took off and said he took offense to being called “articulate.” The actor said he found Trump to be “meek.”  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I wouldn’t call it meek,” Maher said. “What I would call it is knowing how to make everybody – it’s ironic because he’s known as the greatest egomaniac, and he is quite an egomaniac – but to make the person you’re talking to feel like they’re the ones who are important and you’re interested in what they’re saying. He’s good at that.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maher also said he didn’t believe that Trump was racist but just a “product of his time.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Some of us overcome our times,” Leguizamo said.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;That is true and fair to say,&#8221; Maher replied.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maher, a Democrat, made headlines earlier this year for having dinner with Trump and sharing some of the more surprising aspects of their conversation. While Larry David whined about Maher accepting an invitation from “Hitler” and actor Sean Penn said he likely would have never agreed to the meeting, Maher kept an open mind and was pleasantly surprised.</span></p>

Are you?” then proceeded to tag prominent entertainment figures, including Whoopi Goldberg, Naomi Watts, Shaquille O’Neal, Missy Elliot, and others.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Voting for the Emmys will begin this week on June 13, per the Deadline, and all ballots are due by June 24. Nominee selections will</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> be announced on July 17.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 76th Emmy Awards show is scheduled to air on September 15.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Leguizamo’s full-page ad pleaded for voters to prioritize “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/diversity-equity-and-inclusion-dei">diversity and inclusion</a>” when making their selections.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I know you’re tired of hearing words like ‘inclusivity’ and ‘diversity’ – treading water while you try to understand how to put actions behind these sentiments. Look no further! It’s simple!” he wrote.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Imagine you’re the head of Mattel, and you’re hoping the new “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/reviewers-barbie-movie-is-a-deeply-feminist-adventure-thats-poking-fun-at-the-patriarchy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Barbie</a>” movie sends your toy sales skyrocketing.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">And then you hear this line of dialogue about the iconic doll:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">You represent everything wrong with our culture. You destroyed the planet with your glorification of rampant consumerism &#8230; you fascist!</span></i></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Suddenly, the “Barbie” tie-ins got a little more… complicated. And that’s before the movie skewers both Mattel, Inc. and its fictional CEO (Will Ferrell).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is hardly new from La La Land, a business where income inequality isn’t a bug. It’s the feature every ingenue craves. You’d think industry executives might avoid that awkward anti-capitalist messaging at all costs (much like how climate change activists fear their private jet addictions will be exposed).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">And you’d be flat-out wrong.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Modern films go out of their way to smite the rich and decry income inequality. The stars inhabiting those films just so happen to be among the richest stars in the Hollywood galaxy.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Nothing to see here. Move along.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The “Barbie” film goes out of its way to not only trash consumerism, but the titular toy. And a vital character even suggests we stop buying these “fascist” dolls of flawless white women. Yes, that’s another word taken directly from the script to describe the plastic doll.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This summer features another big-budget comedy with the wealthy in its crosshairs.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Jennifer Lawrence comedy “No Hard Feelings” finds the Oscar-winner smiting the rich early and often. She plays a bitter, broke woman named Maggie who decides to sleep with a younger man for a quick payday, courtesy of a wealthy couple who can buy just about anything.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Gross, right?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Not to Maggie. She’d rather do that than be part of the capitalist system. Lawrence’s character spends serious screen time trashing the rich. She’s drowning in debt and resents the wealthy Long Island residents keeping the local economy humming.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Her moral compass is pure, or at least she thinks it is.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maggie all but spits in a wealthy bar customer’s face early in the film. His crime? He’s rich, and he asked for a drink minutes before the bar officially opened.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">None of this was an accident. Director Gene Stupnitsky says he </span><a href="https://www.gq.com/story/jennifer-lawrence-no-hard-feelings-raunchy-comedy-beach-scene" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">embraced the anti-wealthy angle</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> to add gravitas to the story, hoping it wouldn’t overwhelm the narrative.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The ultimate irony? The aggressively liberal Lawrence fought hard to snag a </span><a href="https://screenrant.com/no-hard-feelings-jennifer-lawrence-salary/#:~:text=Jennifer%20Lawrence%27s%20No%20Hard%20Feelings%20Salary%20Was%20Reportedly%20%2425%20Million" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">multi-million dollar paycheck</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> to star in the film. Did she fight just as hard to make sure her co-stars got an equally large paycheck, or at least one larger than the studio initially offered? Talk about income inequality! So much privilege.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Last year saw two celebrated films similarly assault the rich.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The superior film “The Menu” featured Ralph Fiennes as a chef who invites wealthy diners to savor his revolutionary cuisine. The assorted guests, including far-left actor John Leguizamo, are portrayed as mostly shallow souls eager to climb the societal ladder.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The chef has more on his mind than keeping the dishes fresh and warm, and the story soon takes a horrific turn.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The mockery is relentless, although the film proved one of the sturdier awards season entries and didn’t get lost in its agenda.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The same can’t be said for “Triangle of Sadness,” the Best Picture nominee that scorches the elite early and often. The film’s first half is brilliant, and even Donald Trump might chuckle at its social X-ray of the fatuous elites.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A group of ultra-wealthy souls gather for an extravagant cruise, but they’re left to fend for themselves when a storm overwhelms the boat.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The moment Woody Harrelson enters the frame as the ship’s combative captain, sadly, the film’s agenda overwhelms the story. The satire’s second half is a dud with income inequality notes and a storytelling detour that sinks the initially impressive tale.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Conservatives rallied around Harrelson for </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/woody-harrelson-said-he-wasnt-fazed-by-backlash-from-snl-monologue-i-dont-look-at-that-s" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">defying COVID-19 groupthink</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, but hearing the ultra-wealthy star praise socialism in the film may be tough to swallow.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">HBO’s “The White Lotus” series similarly deconstructs how the rich and famous spend their leisure time. Show creator Mike White does so with a gimlet eye for hypocrisy and a greater sense of cultural balance. He’s willing to torch the rich while mocking those who attack them without earning their slice of the financial pie.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The show’s first season showcases embittered Gen Z types — Olivia Mossbacher (Sydney Sweeney) and her pal Paula (Brittany O’Grady) — as they smirk their way through paradise.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Do they appreciate the sacrifices the Mossbachers made to get them to Maui or the endless work that gave them the chance for a once-in-a-lifetime trip like this? Of course not.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The two have little empathy for anyone other than themselves. Later in the season, Paula cracks the parents’ safe to help a resort worker, but it hardly feels like a charitable move.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The best “eat the rich” satire in recent memory may be HBO’s just-wrapped “Succession.” The celebrated drama showed the rich and famous brawling over power, fame, and family dynamics. The show drew near-universal acclaim despite its not-so-veiled attack on families like the conservative-leaning Murdoch clan.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hollywood understandably loves to tweak the rich. Heck, many elites bring it on themselves, and great writers have famously toyed with excess in profound ways. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby” rushes to mind.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It’s far less agreeable when an industry renowned for excess not only mocks it, but does so sans irony.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sometimes, though, screenwriters still get it right.</span></p>

<p>Actor John Leguizamo, who played Luigi in the 1993 live-action &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/you-probably-need-to-watch-it-twice-chris-pratt-reacts-to-criticism-over-mario-bros-accent" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Super Mario Bros</a>.&#8221; movie, is boycotting the new animated adaptation of the video game series over a supposed lack of Latino diversity.</p>
<p>Leguizamo is Colombian and suggested the new movie should have cast a Latino actor to play at least one of the brothers. Notably, the characters of Mario and Luigi are Italian.</p>
<p>&#8220;No, I will not be watching &#8216;Super Mario Bros,'&#8221; Leguizamo <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/04/06/john-leguizamo-doubles-down-boycott-super-mario-bros-movie/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> TMZ on Thursday. &#8220;They could have included a Latin character — like, I was groundbreaking, and they stopped the groundbreaking. They messed up! They messed up the inclusion, they dis-included.&#8221;</p>
<p>Actors <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/chris-pratt" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chris Pratt</a> and Charlie Day are voicing Mario and Luigi, respectively, in the new animated movie.</p>
<p>&#8220;Cast some Latin folk. Just cast some Latin folk,&#8221; the actor added. &#8220;We&#8217;re 20% of the population; the largest &#8216;people of color&#8217; group, and we&#8217;re under-represented — over-represented in the worst kind of jobs, though.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;So, no &#8216;Super Mario Bros.&#8217; for you?&#8221; the TMZ reporter pressed Leguizamo. &#8220;Hell no,&#8221; the actor answered.</p>
<p>Early on, Pratt <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-10948549/Chris-Pratt-controversy-role-Mario-Super-Mario-Bros-film-hes-not-Italian.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">caught flak</a> over his casting to voice the Italian character even though he is not Italian. Day, who voices Luigi, is part Italian.</p>
<p>Pratt, though, is not using the thick Italian actor fans are used to, instead sounding more like an Italian-American living in New York City.</p>

<p>“I — you know, come watch the movie,” Pratt recently said in response to the criticism, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/you-probably-need-to-watch-it-twice-chris-pratt-reacts-to-criticism-over-mario-bros-accent" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> reported. “Go watch the movie and then we can talk. I really think that once you see the movie — and, you know what? In all honesty, I think you probably need to watch it twice.”</p>
<p>Pratt went on to acknowledge that there were a lot of super-fans in the “Super Mario Bros.” fanbase — counting himself among them — and he said that he absolutely understood that no one wanted to see a movie company come in and change a piece of their childhood in order to make a “cash grab.”</p>
<p>“This is the soundtrack to your youth, and you don’t want someone to come along and cynically kind of just destroy it as a cash grab with the movie,” he said. “I fully understand that, you do not want that to happen. And there are so many hearts and souls and minds dedicated to making sure that didn’t happen … it really honors the video game and honors the world of Mario.”</p>

<p>Leguizamo began by weighing in on the state of politics in general — namely, the fact that former President Donald Trump had officially announced his third presidential run the night before — and he predicted an exciting battle between Trump and Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.</p>
<p>&#8220;It’s kind of exciting and terrible all at once because if he’s the nominee for the Republicans, it’s going to undo them because he loses suburban women, he loses the moderates, the moderate Republicans, independents, but then the fight between him and DeSantis could be UFC!&#8221; he said, adding, &#8220;Oh my God, that would be a blast. But then if he wins, he’s going to know how to destroy America. He’ll destroy the country.&#8221;</p>
<p>Navarro then asked whether he could break down the Latino vote for the viewers, noting that a large number had moved to the Right in recent elections.</p>
<p>&#8220;I always feel like people misunderstand the Latino vote,&#8221; she said. &#8220;So can you give us Latino Vote for Morons 101?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Well, you know, we’re the largest – one of the largest voting blocs. We’re also the largest minority in the United States. We’re the oldest ethnic group in America. And we vote. But you have to come for us. You have to talk about our issues. You have to knock on our doors. You can’t take us for granted and expect us to be there for you,&#8221; Leguizamo replied.</p>
<p>The actor noted that Republicans had reached out, saying that was why so many Latinos had responded by moving toward the political right.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Republicans understand better and they&#8217;re coming for us. They’re putting ads in our Spanish radio station, on WhatsApp,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They come for us and that’s why Latinos are shifting toward them. But just come for us, Democrats.&#8221;</p>
<p>Navarro argued that the rightward shift had not happened in places like Nevada and Arizona, at which point Hostin jumped in to claim that Republicans were &#8220;tricking&#8221; Latinos into voting for them by scaring them with words like &#8220;socialism.&#8221;</p>

<p>Actor <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/john-leguizamo-upset-latinx-talent-not-represented-at-oscars/">John Leguizamo</a> lashed out at Hollywood and streaming platforms on Friday, accusing them of &#8220;cultural appropriation&#8221; after he learned that actor <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/james-franco-digitally-erased-vanity-fair-cover-paul-bois/">James Franco</a> had been cast as dictator Fidel Castro in the upcoming film &#8220;Alina of Cuba.&#8221;</p>
<p>Sharing a screen shot of an article announcing the casting decision on Instagram, <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/john-leguizamo-latino-republicans-suffer-from-self-hate/">Leguizamo</a> added a caption <a href="https://pagesix.com/2022/08/06/john-leguizamo-slams-james-francos-casting-as-fidel-castro/">complaining</a> that both Hollywood and streaming platforms often cast non-Latino actors to play iconic Latino roles.</p>

<p>&#8220;How is this still going on? How is Hollywood excluding us but stealing our narratives as well? No more appropriation Hollywood and streamers!&#8221; Leguizamo said. &#8220;Boycott! This F’d up! Plus seriously difficult story to tell without aggrandizement which would b wrong! I don’t got a prob with Franco but he ain’t Latino!&#8221;</p>
<p>The filmmakers defended the decision by pointing out the fact that Franco, whose ancestry includes Portuguese along with Russian, Jewish, and Swedish, actually shared a similar facial structure to Castro — who was born in Cuba but of Spanish (European) descent.</p>
<p>&#8220;To get there on such a tough look to cast, we used Fidel Castro’s ancient Galician heraldry as our focal compass, and then combed through the entire ranks of actors with Latin roots in Hollywood to find someone who has a similar facial structure,&#8221; John Martinez O’Felan <a href="https://deadline.com/2022/08/james-franco-fidel-castro-alina-of-cuba-movie-1235085397/">told Deadline</a>, adding, &#8220;In executing a close search into our hopefuls through the eye of Spanish and Portuguese genealogy which the Galicians held, we found that James, by far, had the closest facial likeness.&#8221;</p>
<p>Castro&#8217;s own daughter Alina Fernández approved the casting decision as well, saying, &#8220;James Franco has an obvious physical resemblance with Fidel Castro, besides his skills and charisma.&#8221;</p>
<p>Fernandez also touted the fact that nearly the entire project — both in front of the camera and behind — is Latino.</p>
<p>&#8220;I find the selection of the cast amazing,” she said. &#8220;Ana Villafañe is extraordinarily talented, and not only as an actress because she is also a great singer, a very complete performer. I’m sure that Mía Maestro, an actress I admire, will understand and interpret Naty, my mother, in a unique way and I can’t wait to see her building her character.&#8221;</p>
<p>Leguizamo followed his first complaint with a video explaining that his complaint had arisen out of his own experience with what he described as &#8220;brown face&#8221; — white actors like Charlton Heston and Ben Affleck being made up to look Latin in order to play certain roles.</p>

<p>A Michigan community college spent roughly $124,000 – the average cost of tuition for twenty students – to host speeches by left-wing activists, including Nikole Hannah-Jones, according to contracts obtained by The Daily Wire.</p>
<p>The speeches at Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC), part of a &#8220;diversity lecture series,&#8221; were made throughout the 2021-2022 academic year. The school spent $25,000 for Hannah-Jones, the founder of the 1619 project, $40,000 for actor John Leguizamo, and $15,000 for a GOP-bashing appearance by Black Voters Matter co-founder LaTosha Brown — plus more for others.</p>
<p>“People that are fighting against Critical Race Theory [CRT], they don’t even know what it is,” Brown said in her speech. “The bottom line is that it’s not even included in the curriculum.” Brown also claimed she was not mentioning it as a &#8220;partisan issue&#8221; but criticized Republicans for passing an anti-CRT law in Mississippi.</p>
<p>Her organization, Black Voters Matter Fund, has adopted unpopular stances aligned with the &#8220;social justice&#8221; movement accelerated during the riots in the summer of 2020. The George Soros-backed group gave roughly $50,000 to bail-fund groups in connection with this unrest, <a href="https://blackvotersmatterfund.org/impact-report/">according</a> to its annual report. The group also works on &#8220;resisting voter ID&#8221; — an election policy that polls have found most Americans do <a href="https://www.monmouth.edu/polling-institute/reports/monmouthpoll_us_062121/">not</a> support.</p>
<p>Hannah-Jones, perhaps the most well-known of the group, has spoken at dozens of campuses in the past year. During her appearance, she lectured on systemic racism, according to the college’s chief equity and inclusion officer, who said <a href="https://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/2022/01/pulitzer-prize-winner-nikole-hannah-jones-creator-1619-project-to-give-grcc-keynote-address.html">prior</a> that GRCC sought a speaker to discuss “intersectionality.”</p>
<p>Leguizamo, who spoke for Latino Heritage Month in September, has called Latinos who support former President Donald Trump “roaches” who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/john-leguizamo-latino-republicans-suffer-from-self-hate">suffer</a> from “self-hate.&#8221; And Talib Kweli, who rose to stardom in the late 1990s, has <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CKMBdpusV9x/?hl=en">said</a> “all Republicans are complicit” in the January 6 Capitol riot led by &#8220;white supremacist terrorists.&#8221; GRCC spent $18,800 for his April appearance.</p>
<p>Speakers for GRCC’s diversity series did not return requests for comment.</p>
<p>In a statement to The Daily Wire, GRCC defended paying the speakers a combined six figures, noting that a large portion of funds came from partnerships and grants for diversity programming.</p>
<p>“GRCC, and its office of diversity, equity, and inclusion, firmly believes events and training opportunities related to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion are instrumental in preparing students to be sought-after professionals in a global workforce that is diverse, culturally competent, and in need of rigorous critical thinkers,” a spokesperson said.</p>
<p>But questions remain about the lack of intellectual diversity in the speakers that were chosen.</p>
<p>Matt Seely, a spokesperson for Michigan Conservative Coalition, says schools should provide an alternative perspective when hosting activities of certain political orientations.</p>
<p>Seely sees “universities basically weaponizing their ability to use taxpayer money, student tuition money, and grant money,” and says administrators “do everything they can to stop conservative and religious leaders from speaking on campuses.”</p>
<p>Kara Zupkus, a spokesperson for Young America&#8217;s Foundation, agrees with Seely. The conservative nonprofit brings speakers to college campuses through its own funding and often has trouble coordinating with left-wing administrators.</p>
<p>&#8220;Unfortunately, we often see the task of bringing conservative viewpoints to campus left to conservative student groups — without whom, these campuses simply would never have an alternative viewpoint to hear from,&#8221; Zupkus told The Daily Wire.</p>
<p>GRCC also compensated diversity series speakers at a markedly higher rate than it does for salaried employees, data obtained by The Daily Wire shows. The average salaried employee at the community college earns roughly $83,000 per year.</p>

<p>GRCC has hosted the lecture series for 27 years through its diversity, equity &amp; inclusion office, a spokesperson said. The office pulled in more than $96,000 in donations for fiscal years 2019 and 2020, public records show. Events are free and open to the public.</p>

<p>Despite the overwhelming diversity present at the Academy Awards on Sunday night, actor John Leguizamo is upset that not enough &#8220;Latinx&#8221; people were represented, seemingly displeased by the fact that Mexican directors (Alfonso Cuaron, Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Guillermo Del Toro) took home multiple Oscars in the past decade alone.</p>

<p>Later, Leguizamo congratulated the blacks and Asians who won the awards on Sunday night while still lamenting the lack of &#8220;Latinx&#8221; representation. He simultaneously knocked the term &#8220;people of color&#8221; as something designed to excluded Latin people.</p>

<p>John Leguizamo has previously argued that Latino Republicans suffer from self-hatred due to past racism.</p>
<p>“There is that unfortunate self-hate through all my culture, through all South America, Central America and the Caribbean from the Conquest,” said the actor. “And that’s hard to fight. When that beautiful woman from ‘Roma’ [Yalitza Aparicio] was put on the cover of Latin <em>Vogue</em>, people wrote horrible letters. ‘How dare you put such an ugly face on magazines?’ That’s the insidious self-hate. Because like the majority of us are mixed race — Black and Indian and white. And the majority in our countries who run everything are white European. This doesn’t really go away that easily.”</p>
<p>Leguizamo specifically referred to Texas, where President Trump was able to shore up votes in southern border towns.</p>
<p>“Texas is a trippy place. El Paso, Austin, San Antonio — very liberal, very Democratic. <p>After President Trump picked up a much-needed win in the state of Florida on Tuesday, actor John Leguizamo likened the citizens to rats that should &#8220;drive their golf carts into the ocean.&#8221;</p>

<p>President Trump won Florida handily on Tuesday – 51.2% to 47.8% – and was largely carried over the line by Cuban Americans and Venezuelans according to the exit polls.</p>
<p>As NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/trump-cultivated-latino-vote-florida-it-paid-n1246226">reported</a>:</p>

<p class="endmarkEnabled">From the time President Donald Trump took office, he focused on the Latino vote in Florida, and according to figures coming out of the state, it paid off on <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Election Day</a>, especially in Miami-Dade County, the most populous in the state.</p>
<p class="endmarkEnabled">Around 55 percent of <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/first-polls-set-close-soon-trump-biden-presidential-race-n1246071" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Florida&#8217;s Cuban-American vote went to Trump</a>, according to NBC News exit polls, while 30 percent of Puerto Ricans and 48 percent of &#8220;other Latinos&#8221; backed Trump. Trump won the coveted battleground state with its 29 electoral votes.</p>
<p class="endmarkEnabled">Trump drastically improved his support in Miami-Dade County, going from 333,999 votes in 2016 to at least 529,16 votes this year. Biden, however, wasn’t able to grow Democratic support in the county. Clinton got 624,146 votes there in 2016 and with 95 percent of the vote tallied, Biden had 613,086.</p>

<p>In the election overall, more Latino voters supported President Trump in 2020 than they did in 2016.</p>
<p>&#8220;Biden also lost support among Latino voters in Georgia and Ohio, important states to capturing the White House,&#8221; reported <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/03/politics/exit-polls-2020/index.html">CNN</a>. &#8220;The former vice president was up only about 16 percentage points in Georgia and about 24 points in Ohio, compared to Clinton&#8217;s margin of 40 percentage points and 41 points in Georgia and Ohio, respectively.&#8221;</p>
<p>However, according to Leguizamo, such Latinos in favor of President Trump are &#8220;like roaches for Raid.&#8221;</p>
<p>“Latin people for Republicans are like roaches for Raid,” Leguizamo told comedian Bill Maher back in October. “I just feel like there’s a level of self-hate or just lack of care for the rest of your Latin brothers and sisters who are in cages, who are being demonized by this president. I mean, hate crimes against Latin people are way up and how can you not — I mean, 23 people were shot in El Paso for just being Latin, and you don’t care? So you’re gonna vote for this braggadocio president? I just feel like it’s self-hating and selfish.”</p>
<p>Leguizamo went on to credit Republicans for being “clever” with their attacks on Biden by characterizing him as a socialist who will turn the United States into Venezuela.</p>
<p>“They’re spreading this stuff that, you know, Biden is about to steal the Virgin Mary. First of all, he’s a Super Catholic,” said Leguizamo, later adding: “Then in Florida, they’re going after Colombians telling them that, you know, if you vote for Biden, he’s a socialist and he’s gonna turn Columbia into Venezuela because they know we got 400,000 registered Colombians in Florida that could help flip it to Biden. So, they’re really clever, man, insidious, but we’re working, we’re gonna figure them out.”</p>
