On Wednesday, Lee Zeldin, the Environmental Protection Agency administrator, took a flamethrower to the sanctimony of a plethora of Democrats and their environmental absurdities.
During a hearing before the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, Rhode Island Democrat Senator Sheldon Whitehouse — a man who has spent years perfecting the art of the dramatic pause and the &#8220;dark money&#8221; conspiracy theory — launched into a vitriolic tirade. Whitehouse accused Zeldin of being a fossil fuel puppet, executing a &#8220;money pump&#8221; to enrich &#8220;Trump’s big corrupt donors&#8221; while supposedly driving up electricity bills.
Whitehouse, leaning heavily into the &#8220;climate reckoning&#8221; trope, claimed that &#8220;four-year-olds know&#8221; wind is cheaper than gas and hyperventilated, “All the climate denial fraud that you help propagate. All the corrupt, dark money your polluter bosses sluiced through this building. None of that will stand against nature&#8217;s reckoning.”
Zeldin, however, was not interested in being lectured by a man whose commitment to &#8220;diversity&#8221; apparently ends at the gates of an all-white country club.
Zeldin began by dismantling the idea that disagreement equals &#8220;villainy,&#8221; pointing out that the radical Left’s &#8220;science&#8221; is often just the most pessimistic 2009-era assumptions masquerading as fact. He then turned the tables on the &#8220;corruption&#8221; narrative, highlighting the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) — a multi-billion-dollar pot of taxpayer gold that seems to find its way into very specific pockets.
But the real knockout blow came when Zeldin addressed Whitehouse’s moral posturing directly. Noting their twenty-year acquaintance, Zeldin signaled he was done with the hypocrisy.
&#8220;I’m not going to take morality lessons from people who join all-white country clubs,&#8221; Zeldin shot back, a direct reference to Whitehouse’s long-standing membership in Newport’s exclusive Bailey’s Beach Club. Despite Whitehouse’s 2006 campaign promise to quit the club due to its lack of diversity, the Senator <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/06/21/sheldon-whitehouse-under-fire-for-membership-at-all-white-club/">remained</a> a member of the elite, non-diverse enclave for years, dismissing the exclusion as a &#8220;long tradition in Rhode Island.&#8221;
Zeldin didn&#8217;t stop at the hearing room. He took to X to dub the Senator &#8220;Sheldon WhiteClub&#8221; and went after the broader &#8220;lying cabal&#8221; of climate alarmists, writing, “I told Senator Sheldon WhiteClub today that I won’t be listening to or caring about any of his lessons on morality knowing that he joined an all-white Rhode Island Country Club. I’m also done with the likes of AOC, Al Gore, John Kerry, and the rest of the lying cabal that make stupid climate predictions, plunder tens of billions of tax dollars, enrich their well-connected allies, and are committed to strangulating out of existence entire sectors of our economy.”
Zeldin gleefully pointed out that AOC’s 2019 &#8220;12 years left&#8221; clock has less than five years remaining, and mocked Al Gore for pivoting to &#8220;global freezing&#8221; after his 2006 prediction that Mt. Kilimanjaro would be snow-free &#8220;within the decade&#8221; turned out to be a total bust. (There is, in fact, still snow on Kilimanjaro).

The contrast between the 2015 &#8220;fleecing&#8221; of America and the 2026 &#8220;reality check&#8221; in Islamabad couldn&#8217;t be more stark. While then-Secretary of State John Kerry famously treated Iranian negotiators like esteemed colleagues, Vice President JD Vance just treated them like a landlord dealing with a delinquent tenant who thinks he owns the building.
The difference isn&#8217;t just in the tone — it’s in the fundamental understanding of what a &#8220;deal&#8221; actually looks like.
In 2015, John Kerry and former President Barack Obama&#8217;s administration operated on a philosophy of &#8220;delay.&#8221; As Tennessee GOP senator Bob Corker <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/jul/23/john-kerry-republicans-senate-iran-nuclear-deal#:~:text=Addressing%20Kerry%2C%20Corker%20said%3A%20%E2%80%9C,to%20Congress%20being%20a%20pariah.%E2%80%9D">said</a> to Kerry, “From my perspective, Mr. Secretary — I’m sorry — not unlike a hotel guest that leaves with only a hotel bathrobe on his back, I believe you have been fleeced.” Idaho GOP Senator Jim Risch echoed, “With all due respect, you guys have been bamboozled and the American people are going to pay.”
Kerry’s deal codified the industrialization of Iran’s nuclear program while leaving its ballistic missiles and terror proxies untouched. His strategy was to front-load billions in sanctions relief, effectively handing a &#8220;cash bonanza&#8221; to the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, and just hoping they’d play nice for a decade.
Fast-forward to last week in Pakistan. Vance didn&#8217;t go in looking for a &#8220;legacy&#8221; or a &#8220;breakthrough&#8221; based on hope. He went in to <a href="applewebdata://9B063FA3-54C9-4ADA-857E-879EB2DFDC81/v">probe vulnerabilities</a>. When Vance walked out of that 21-hour marathon, he didn&#8217;t leave with a handshake; he left with a &#8220;best and final offer&#8221; that demands the total dismantling of Iran&#8217;s enrichment facilities and an end to their regional terror spree. When Tehran balked, President Trump didn&#8217;t offer a &#8220;secret side deal&#8221; — he announced a complete U.S. naval blockade of all Iranian ports.
The core failure of the Kerry era was the assumption that Iran shared a mutual interest in regional stability. As then-Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) stated in a <a href="https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/rubio-campaign-press-release-10-things-that-every-american-should-be-concerned-about-the">comprehensive essay</a> attacking the agreement, “This deal empowers one of America&#8217;s most dangerous enemies and fundamentally weakens our security.”
President Trump has flipped the script. According to U.S. officials, the Islamabad talks revealed that the Iranian regime is delusional about its own standing. They walked into the room thinking they had leverage; they walked out realizing that the United States no longer considers their &#8220;nuclear ambitions&#8221; a subject for negotiation.
While Kerry was accused of &#8220;shadow diplomacy&#8221; and coaching the Iranians to &#8220;wait out&#8221; American resolve, the current administration has made it clear that time has run out.
The 2015 deal relied on &#8220;Section Q&#8221; — a weak inspection regime that gave Iran 24 days to cover its tracks. The 2026 red lines are unambiguous:

<li>Total cessation of all uranium enrichment.</li>
<li>Dismantling of all major facilities.</li>
<li>Zero funding for Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.</li>
<li>Unrestricted access to the Strait of Hormuz with no &#8220;illegal&#8221; tolls.</li>
</ul>
In 2015, John Kerry gave away the store for a temporary pause. In 2026, the United States is telling Iran that if they want to keep control over the store, they have to stop trying to blow it up.
As Trump put it, the meeting proved one thing: Iran is unwilling to give up its ambitions. But unlike the previous era of disgraceful campaigns of fear, this administration is betting that a naval blockade and a dose of reality will achieve what years of Kerry’s shoddy inspections never could.

The Obama State Department headed by then-Secretary John Kerry interfered with the FBI and other law enforcement that wanted to take action against Iranian targets.
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, <a href="https://www.grassley.senate.gov/news/news-releases/grassley-report-reveals-obama-biden-state-departments-refusal-to-exact-justice-against-iranian-terrorists" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> a report on Tuesday detailing whistleblower testimony and documents that show the Obama State Department’s interference in law enforcement matters involving Iran. The interference began during the time that the Obama administration pursued a deal on nuclear energy and weapons with Iran.
The Iowa Republican called the report “chilling” in a statement and accused the Obama administration of “jeopardiz[ing] our national security.” The report says that the interference only stopped with President Donald Trump’s ascension to the White House in 2017.
“Democrats’ historic refusal to get tough on Iran emboldened its regime and allowed Tehran to continue funding global acts of terrorism, like what we saw on October 7, 2023,” Grassley said. “We should all be breathing a sigh of relief President Trump is back in the White House to restore American strength on the world stage and hold Iran accountable for its evil acts.”
One FBI official said that Kerry “personally” interfered with the Department of Justice on one occasion, ordering officials to “stand down on an arrest,” according to the report.
“The State Department and Obama-Biden administration officials persistently and systematically derailed criminal and national security investigations, creating a shadow amnesty program that protected scores of additional Iranian criminals,” one whistleblower said. “FBI offices abandoned dozens of Iran-related investigations and U.S. Attorneys shut down prosecutions after recognizing the State Department and DOJ obstruction would thwart effective enforcement efforts.”
The report contains whistleblower testimony and FBI emails that detail State Department interference with law enforcement in ways that benefited targeted Iranian officials. Those Iranians included officials with warrants and those targeted by U.S. sanctions.
“According to unclassified FBI email records, before and after the Iran Nuclear Deal was finalized, the State Department prevented the FBI and other U.S. law enforcement agencies from enforcing U.S. sanctions and export control violations against Iranians and actively obstructed their pursuit to arrest these individuals,” the report says.
Whistleblower disclosures said, &#8220;Obama-Biden administration officials in the State Department and DOJ refused to allow already-indicted criminals investigated for years from being arrested on lawfully issued arrest warrants.’”
While the interference took place, the State Department led by Kerry was negotiating the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran nuclear deal. The deal was pitched by the Biden administration as a way to prevent Iran from building a nuclear weapon, though critics said the deal had weak oversight that made Iran’s path to a weapon easier.

Kerry made the remarks on Thursday at a recent John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum as the 29th United Nations climate change conference (COP29) concluded.
“I think, personally, we&#8217;re on the brink of needing to declare a climate emergency, which is what we really have,” Kerry said. “And we need to get people to behave as if this really is a major transitional challenge to the whole planet, to everybody.”
Kerry said that it was America&#8217;s responsibility to pay for energy infrastructure in Africa because the U.S. is the world&#8217;s leading economy.
&#8220;People in Africa who don&#8217;t have electricity need to choose the right kind of electricity and we need to help them be able to afford it and do it,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We have the largest economy in the world — $24 trillion or $23 trillion economy, maybe more by now.&#8221;

He said that the U.S. needs &#8220;to make it happen&#8221; because &#8220;nobody lives as an island in this process, on this planet.&#8221;

He claimed that &#8220;the economics of climate work favors people who are feeling the pinch of inflation.&#8221;

Today&#8217;s Democrats, led by Kamala Harris, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, are not just tiptoeing around the edges of censorship; they&#8217;re creating an Orwellian nightmare where the state is being called upon to regulate speech and to determine what is fit to be heard in the public square.
The Media Research Center took a stroll down <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/every-21st-century-democratic-presidential-nominee-supports-restricting-free-speech" target="_blank" rel="noopener">memory lane</a> to measure the seismic shift in attitudes toward the First Amendment for Harris and the other Democratic nominees of the 21st century, including Biden, Hillary Clinton, Obama, John Kerry and Al Gore.
According to the MRC study, each of these six candidates previously stood for free speech rights. Now, they claim that constitutionally protected speech is a threat to democracy. Their tortuous logic is inexplicable, but their previous quotes have not yet been whitewashed by the Left’s ever-faithful tech behemoth, Google.
In 2006, Gore <a href="https://youtu.be/ZNuEKePNCgw?si=p-UifGYw5A7Fzl9c&amp;t=2643" target="_blank" rel="noopener">scolded</a> the Bush administration for allegedly trying to “silence dissenting views” by censoring information “inconsistent with its stated ideological goals.” Fast forward to 2023, and Gore <a href="https://thehill.com/policy/technology/4344366-al-gore-calls-social-media-algorithms-digital-ar-15s/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suggests</a> social media algorithms should be “banned,” calling them the “digital equivalent of AR-15s.”
In 2011, Clinton <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acDcUQoeFxY">vowed</a> to protect free speech &#8220;with the force of law.&#8221; But just last month, <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/tim-graham/2024/09/17/hillary-maddow-americans-who-boost-trump-propaganda-are-criminals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">she said</a> that Americans should be “criminally charged” for spreading what she dubbed “propaganda.” She later warned, “[i]f they don’t moderate and monitor the content, we lose total control.”
In 2015, Obama <a href="https://youtu.be/mi5da2AhDCY?si=o22sDubaS4hTFrSq&amp;t=190" target="_blank" rel="noopener">affirmed</a> that government propaganda “runs contrary to everything we believe.” Yet, in <a href="https://archive.is/k29vX#selection-2011.0-2014.0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2022</a>, Obama called on Americans to “pick a side” regarding whether social media companies should be forced to censor Americans.
In 2015, Kerry rebuked censorship, affirming that “freedom must win out over censorship.” A year earlier, he <a href="https://youtu.be/X2JrqxACZp8?si=siES2GzodJEg2GRg&amp;t=304" target="_blank" rel="noopener">condemned</a> the very acts committed by his own party today: “Imagine if I couldn&#8217;t talk to you today simply because my government had shut down or censored the internet.” But now Kerry unashamedly attacks the First Amendment “as a major block.”
In 2017, Biden passionately <a href="https://youtu.be/fe8iSYHOg5A?si=6HlO0KKTuQihJ4Wo&amp;t=4555" target="_blank" rel="noopener">defended</a> free speech rights for all: “[W]e hurt ourselves badly when we don&#8217;t allow the speech to take place. … The First Amendment is one of the defining features of who we are in the Bill of Rights. And to shut it down in the name of what is appropriate is simply wrong.” In that same year, Harris similarly tweeted, “The free and open internet is a cornerstone of our society and must be protected at all costs.”
But like their predecessors, Biden and Harris have flip-flopped, deciding instead that the best way to combat ideas they dislike is not through debate, but through deletion. In the guise of combatting mis- and dis-information, they created the largest censorship regime in U.S. history, spanning 10 federal departments and six additional regulatory agencies.
For example, the State and Homeland Security Departments have partnered repeatedly to censor conservatives in the media. The Pentagon has also used our tax dollars to bludgeon advertisers, cajoling them not to work with conservative media outlets.
Independent agencies are at it, too. The Federal Communications Commission is punishing free-speech advocate Elon Musk while rewarding anti-free speech zealot George Soros. And the National Science Foundation is competing with the Energy Department to be the wizard behind the censorship curtain.
This isn&#8217;t about mis-information; it&#8217;s about power. Democratic leaders have traded the mantle of freedom for the chains of control, embracing the tech titans as partners and enforcers of their narrative. Once heralded as the new public square, social media platforms have become a digital dungeon where speech is policed not by law, but by algorithm.

While elites in the Democratic Party play the role of speech censors, conservatives have joined with traditional Democrats in a coalition to protect speech rights. This coalition is led mostly by former Democrats, including Donald Trump, Elon Musk and two former presidential candidates, Robert F. Kennedy and Tulsi Gabbard.
Trump’s running mate JD Vance <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/free-speech/tom-olohan/2024/10/02/vp-debate-cbs-jd-vance-denounces-true-threat-democracy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">articulated</a> the correct perspective on speech in the vice presidential debate: “I believe we actually do have a threat to democracy in this country, but unfortunately, it&#8217;s not the threat to democracy that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz want to talk about: It is the threat of censorship.”
Vance is sounding a wake-up call that resonates like the siren many of us heard as school children during nuclear-war fallout drills. We&#8217;re not just at risk of losing an argument; we&#8217;re at risk of losing America.
The next president of the United States will take the oath of office, swearing to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” The media must do their job and ask each of the candidates whether they can take this oath, without snickering and crossing fingers.

Since 2020, every candidate the Democratic Party has nominated for president since 2000 has actively backed restrictions on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/free-speech" target="_blank" rel="noopener">free speech</a> online, according to a new analysis from the Media Research Center shared with The Daily Wire. 
“Since the 2020 election cycle, no less than seven of the most recent 10 presidential nominees have called for censorship and/or government regulation of political speech,” MRC researcher Luis Cornelio found wrote in his analysis.
MRC Free Speech For America analyzed the comments and positions of every presidential candidate since 2000. The group found that every Democrat — and just one Republican — who ran for office in that time frame has backed some kind of restriction on speech since 2020, whether banning &#8220;misinformation&#8221; or pushing for the government to crack down on free expression.
That includes former President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden, and Vice President Kamala Harris, the last of whom has advocated censorship for years. Harris has <a href="https://x.com/EndWokeness/status/1829651058269806658" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pushed</a> for social media companies to remove posts from former President Donald Trump and demanded more government oversight and regulation for social media companies. 
“They are directly speaking to millions and millions of people without any level of oversight or regulation, and that has to stop,” Harris told CNN in 2019. 
The report found that former President Donald Trump had taken steps to promote free speech, citing his efforts in 2020 to define Section 230 — a provision that largely gives tech companies immunity for what third parties allow on their platforms — in a way that protected the First Amendment.
Mitt Romney, who ran for president in 2012, is the only Republican the MRC found to have “voiced support for censorship and against the American principles of free speech online.” 
The Biden-Harris administration <a href="https://mrcfreespeechamerica.org/blogs/free-speech/gabriela-pariseau-christian-baldwin/2024/06/25/mrc-free-speech-america-exposes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">used</a> several federal agencies to censor speech related to the COVID-19 vaccine, MRC previously documented. This came as Biden claimed that Facebook was “killing people” by allowing posts critical of the COVID vaccine.
“They’re killing people — I mean they’re really, look, the only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated,” Biden <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/tim-graham/2021/07/17/networks-promote-biden-claiming-facebook-killing-people-covid">said</a> on July 16, 2021. “And they’re killing people.”
Hillary Clinton, who has long blamed her 2016 loss to Trump on so-called Russian disinformation, has proposed arresting Americans for spreading “propaganda.” 
“I think there are Americans who are engaged in this kind of propaganda, and whether they should be civilly or even in some cases, criminally charged is something that would be a better deterrence,” Clinton <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxrngjBER3E">said</a> on MSNBC last month.
Earlier this month, Clinton urged for social media companies to “moderate” posts, <a href="https://mrcfreespeechamerica.org/blogs/free-speech/donald-perkins/2024/10/07/hillary-clinton-pushes-censorship-expresses-fear-losing">saying</a> on CNN that if “they don’t moderate and monitor content, we lose total control.”
“We should be, in my view, appealing something called Section 230, which gave platforms on the internet immunity because they were thought to be pass-throughs that they shouldn’t be judged for the content that is posted—but we now know that was an overly simple view,” she said.
Obama <a href="https://archive.is/k29vX">said</a> back on April 21, 2022 that protecting “democracy” meant more government regulations for online speech.
“Each of us, whether we work at a tech company or consume social media, whether we are a parent, a legislator, an advertiser on one of these platforms, now’s the time to pick a side,” Obama said at Stanford&#8217;s Cyber Policy Center. “We have a choice right now. Do we allow our democracy to wither or do we make it better?”

Last month, John Kerry, who lost the White House to George W. Bush in 2004, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/john-kerry-if-democrats-win-we-can-change-first-amendment-to-fight-disinformation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asserted</a> that the First Amendment was a major impediment to fighting alleged online misinformation.
“But look, if people only go to one source, and the source they go to is sick, and, you know, has an agenda, and they’re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence,” he said during a World Economic Forum meeting.
Vice President Al Gore, who has made a fortune pushing fear about climate change, compared social media algorithms to AR-15 rifles in December 2023 and called for them to be banned if they lead people in a certain direction.
“If you have social media that is dominated by algorithms that pull people down these rabbit holes that are a bit like pitcher plants, these algorithms, they are the digital equivalent of AR-15s,” Gore said. “They ought to be banned, they really ought to be banned. It’s an abuse of the public forum.”
Romney, the only Republican on the list, was included because of comments he made during a congressional hearing in July 2023 where he seemed to endorse federal government employees pressuring tech companies to restrict certain posts.

Speaking to the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/john-kerry-if-democrats-win-we-can-change-first-amendment-to-fight-disinformation">World Economic Forum</a> (WEF) on Green Energy, Kerry said “if Democrats” can win the 2024 election the party can “change” the 1st Amendment to fight what he labeled “disinformation.”
“But look, if people only go to one source, and the source they go to is sick, and, you know, has an agenda, and they’re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence,” Kerry said. “So what we need is to win the ground, win the right to govern, by hopefully winning enough votes that you’re free to be able to implement change.”

Reacting to clips of Kerry’s comments, the billionaire owner of X (formerly known as Twitter) <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1840604961459122181">Musk</a>, wrote that “John Kerry is saying he wants to violate the Constitution.”
He followed it up with a <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1840622115285881292">second post</a> agreeing with another person who wrote that, if former President Donald Trump loses the election, “it will be the last one,” adding “And they will destroy the Constitution.”
The former Democrat-turned-independent presidential candidate RFK Jr. <a href="https://x.com/RobertKennedyJr/status/1840763072249487600">wrote</a>, “John Kerry is correct. The 1st Amendment DOES stand as a major roadblock to them right now.”

Kerry made the extreme remarks during a discussion with the World Economic Forum on Green Energy when asked by an audience member what could be done to fight online disinformation.
&#8220;You know there&#8217;s a lot of discussion now about how you curb those entities in order to guarantee that you&#8217;re going to have some accountability on facts, etc.,&#8221; he said. &#8220;But look, if people only go to one source, and the source they go to is sick, and, you know, has an agenda, and they&#8217;re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence.&#8221;

Not too long ago, being labeled a &#8220;flip-flopper&#8221; was a big deal in presidential politics. Whatever your policy positions might be, the worst possible sin was to be indecisive about them. If you remember what happened to John Kerry back in 2004, you know what I&#8217;m talking about. A day before his first debate with George W. Bush, no one was asking John Kerry about his position on the Iraq War, or his views on taxes or anything like that. Instead, Kerry was being asked about his image as a flip-flopper.
And he was forced to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/30/politics/campaign/kerry-says-flipflop-image-doesnt-reflect-the-truth.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admit</a>, in an interview with The New York Times, that it was a major vulnerability. Kerry claimed that his positions had really been consistent, but at the same time he acknowledged that the Bush campaign had succeeded in portraying him as indecisive and untrustworthy. That&#8217;s why 60% of voters <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/05/washington/the-2004-campaign-the-poll-poll-finds-kerry-assured-voters-in-in.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> Kerry &#8220;told people what they wanted to hear rather than what he really believed.&#8221; And ultimately, whether you think Kerry&#8217;s reputation for flip flopping was deserved or not, it&#8217;s a big part of why he lost the election.
Twenty years later, it&#8217;s now abundantly clear that the &#8220;flip flopper&#8221; label doesn&#8217;t scare Democrats anymore. And the corporate press isn&#8217;t concerned about it, either.
In the span of just a month, Kamala Harris&#8217; team has systematically reversed pretty much every major policy proposal she&#8217;s ever supported in her career. These changes are so significant, and so completely unexplained, that they would have immediately destroyed Kamala Harris&#8217; candidacy if she were running 20 years ago. But this country has changed a lot in two decades — or at least the Kamala Harris campaign is betting it&#8217;s changed a lot. So, day by day, they&#8217;re proceeding to revise her entire platform.

For example, Harris&#8217; campaign now <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/jul/30/kamala-harris-fracking" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claims</a> she no longer wants to ban fracking, even though as recently as 2019, she said she supported a total fracking ban as part of the Green New Deal. 
The campaign also <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/08/27/us-news/harris-campaign-now-says-vp-does-not-support-electric-vehicle-mandate-in-latest-flip-flop/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a> Harris no longer supports an electric vehicle mandate, even though in 2019, Harris co-sponsored the Zero-Emission Vehicles Act. That bill would have required that 100% of new vehicles be &#8220;electric or hydrogen powered&#8221; by 2040. And if any manufacturer tried to make a gas-powered car after 2040, the EPA could shut them down. According to the text of the bill, “After model year 2040, the [Environmental Protection Agency] Administrator may issue an injunction on the manufacture of any passenger vehicles other than zero emission vehicles by a vehicle manufacturer.&#8221;
But yesterday, that all changed. Harris&#8217; &#8220;rapid response director&#8221; sent out a so-called &#8220;fact-check&#8221; email that began: “FACT: Vice President Harris does not support an electric vehicle mandate.&#8221; Instead, the email states that Harris supports “ground-breaking subsidies and tax credits for electric vehicles.”
So they&#8217;re dressing up a major policy reversal as a &#8220;fact-check.&#8221; They&#8217;re implying that you&#8217;re the one who&#8217;s mistaken, when really they&#8217;re trying to pull a sleight of hand. And there are other reversals too, on everything from abolishing private health insurance to closing immigrant detention centers to defunding the police and so on.

Kamala Harris&#8217; campaign has offered no explanation for these changes. But everyone knows what the explanation is: she wants to win the election, and she understands that California Leftism isn&#8217;t popular outside of California. She does not have principles. She only has internal polling — and apparently, it&#8217;s not looking good.
To that end, the Kamala Harris campaign has just announced its most dramatic policy reversal yet. Contrary to everything Kamala Harris has said for the past five years, her campaign has just come out in support of Donald Trump&#8217;s border wall. Yes, you heard that correctly. The Kamala Harris campaign is making a very direct play for John Kerry&#8217;s title as the most flagrant and notorious flip-flopper in the modern history of the Democrat Party. Out of nowhere, our border czar Kamala Harris is now all for &#8220;building the wall.&#8221;
As Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/08/27/kamala-harris-flip-flops-border-wall?utm_campaign=editorial&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> this week:
<blockquote>Harris flip-flops on building the border wall. &#8230; If she&#8217;s elected president, Kamala Harris pledges to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the wall along the southern border — a project she once opposed and called &#8216;un-American&#8217; during the Trump administration.</blockquote>
Specifically, Harris has announced her support for the recent bipartisan &#8220;border security bill,&#8221; which requires that hundreds of millions of dollars are spent to continue building the wall on the southern border.
On the Sunday shows the other day, there were a few signs this reversal was coming. At one point, ABC anchor Jon Karl noticed that Kamala Harris&#8217; campaign was running ads that prominently featured Trump&#8217;s border wall, as part of an effort to show that Kamala Harris is supposedly tough on illegal immigration (which she previously said she wants to decriminalize). At first that looked like some lazy editing mistake. After all, this is the same border wall that Kamala Harris said in 2020 was a, &#8220;complete waste of taxpayer money&#8221; that &#8220;won&#8217;t make us any safer.&#8221; It&#8217;s the same border wall that Kamala Harris said in 2017 was a &#8220;stupid use of money&#8221; that she would &#8220;block any funding for.&#8221; It&#8217;s the same wall that the Biden administration — with Kamala Harris as VP — sabotaged the minute they took office. So Biden-Harris ran on killing the wall. They got elected and stopped the construction of the wall. And now Kamala Harris wants to get back in and restart construction of the wall.
Already, it&#8217;s pretty clear how the corporate press and the Harris campaign plan to spin this. They&#8217;re probably going to suggest that taking down the wall was Joe Biden&#8217;s call, and Kamala Harris had nothing to do with it. Last night, Politico laid the groundwork for that kind of messaging. They ran <a href="https://x.com/politico/status/1828558004301508855" target="_blank" rel="noopener">this headline</a>: &#8220;Vance tries to tether Harris to Biden during Michigan rally.&#8221; Yes, Vance dared to draw a connection between the president and his vice president. Can you imagine?
One of the many problems with this approach is that Kamala Harris is on tape, again and again, disparaging the border wall as Trump&#8217;s &#8220;medieval vanity project.&#8221; She laughed repeatedly at the idea that a wall could possibly deter illegal aliens from entering the country. Watch:

Notice how Kamala Harris tries to sell the bit at the end — about how she was a prosecutor, and she&#8217;s an expert in transnational criminal gangs, and how she knows &#8220;that wall ain&#8217;t gonna stop them.&#8221; It&#8217;s supposed to come off as a natural, unrehearsed, jovial moment. We&#8217;re supposed to believe that Kamala Harris is speaking in a folksy way about her experience as a prosecutor because she&#8217;s being genuine and unscripted.
But this wasn&#8217;t an unscripted moment. She did the exact same routine several times before, on tape. Here&#8217;s one example:

It&#8217;s all fake and scripted. Kamala Harris understands only the words she&#8217;s rehearsed, and nothing more. If that moderator had asked Kamala Harris how exactly transnational gangs bypass walls, she probably would have no idea what to say. She&#8217;d just freeze and stare straight ahead for hours. Without her canned talking points, the Democrats&#8217; presidential nominee is completely unable to articulate a single thought, even one that&#8217;s supposedly based on her personal experience.
That&#8217;s probably why the Harris campaign has just announced that Kamala Harris is going to have Tim Walz sitting next to her during her first unscripted interview as the Democrats&#8217; presidential nominee. That interview will take place Thursday with a friendly news outlet (CNN) and it&#8217;ll be taped, so any particularly embarrassing moments can be edited out of the final broadcast. But apparently, a taped interview with CNN isn&#8217;t easy enough for Kamala Harris, so she needs to have Tim Walz by her side throughout the whole thing. After well over a month of preparation, she still can&#8217;t do a solo interview.
Neither can Tim Walz, apparently. According to <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/tim-walz-doesnt-know-what-kamala-believes-because-she-doesnt-either/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Politico</a>: 
<blockquote>One of the issues that Harris world is currently working to address is how to deploy running mate TIM WALZ in the media. The danger in sending him out to do big solo interviews is that he might not have a full command of where Harris is on every issue. As someone pointed out to us last night, Harris talks about the &#8216;opportunity economy,&#8217; but if Walz were asked to define it, would he know how.</blockquote>
In other words, neither Kamala Harris nor Tim Walz can sit for an interview alone, without any assistance. Kamala Harris&#8217; problem is that she can&#8217;t articulate a coherent thought. Meanwhile, Tim Walz has no idea what Kamala Harris&#8217; policies are. So the solution they&#8217;ve landed on is to send them both out at once, to a friendly media outlet that hopefully won&#8217;t ask about the whole border wall flip-flop. Because if CNN does ask about that, there&#8217;s also plenty of tape of Tim Walz mocking the idea of a border wall. Watch:

If they want to conduct anything approaching an impartial interview on Thursday, CNN has an obligation to play all of this tape. Then they have an obligation to ask Kamala Harris and Tim Walz what changed. Why exactly do they now support spending tens of millions of dollars on a wall that they once called a useless vanity project? It would be interesting to hear Kamala Harris explain that in her own words.
But of course, that won&#8217;t happen.
The most we&#8217;ll get is another canned, scripted soundbite from Kamala Harris that totally contradicts her old canned, scripted soundbite about the wall. She might tell us all about how, as a prosecutor, she learned that walls do indeed work. They stop transnational criminal gangs all the time! That&#8217;s why they set up walls at the DNC. It&#8217;s why they set up walls around the Capitol for Joe Biden&#8217;s inauguration. It&#8217;s why there are walls around Joe Biden&#8217;s many homes.

Whatever soundbite they&#8217;ll come up with, Kamala Harris will deliver it with a laugh and some faux sincerity. And in all likelihood, the CNN anchor will nod along and pretend to be convinced.
But everyone watching at home — the ones who are open-minded and honest — will realize that Kamala Harris isn&#8217;t really speaking to them. Her handlers are. And as Kamala&#8217;s handlers adopt Donald Trump&#8217;s platform, piece by piece, while rejecting everything Kamala Harris herself once claimed to believe, their candidate is starting to look about as trustworthy as John Kerry. With just over two months to go until the election, more than any poll or focus group, that&#8217;s about as bullish a sign as the Trump campaign can possibly hope for.

Whistleblowers have informed top Republican senators that former President Barack Obama&#8217;s State Department blocked the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/fbi" target="_blank" rel="noopener">FBI</a> from executing arrest warrants against illegal aliens in the U.S. who were financially backing Iran&#8217;s efforts to develop weapons of mass destruction.
Sens. They noted that even one of Obama&#8217;s executive orders and a law passed during the Obama-era, the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015, were created to hold Iran accountable.
However, whistleblowers informed the senators that while the Obama-Biden administration publicly committed to &#8220;prevent[ing] Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons by raising the cost of Iran’s defiance of the international community,&#8221; former Secretary of State John Kerry worked to undermine those efforts.
&#8220;Kerry actively interfered with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executing arrest warrants on individuals in the U.S. illegally supporting Iranian efforts, including financial efforts, to develop weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and its ballistic missile program,&#8221; the letter said. &#8220;The records show that Justice Department and FBI leadership, to include then-Attorney General Lynch and then-FBI Director Comey, failed to take the necessary steps to stop Kerry’s obstructive efforts against law enforcement.&#8221;

The letter continued:
<blockquote>For example, unclassified FBI email records from August 25, 2017, detailed at least eight instances connected to the Iran deal where the “FBI/DOJ/USG could have moved forward with the cases but the State Department chose to block them.” According to the records, in six of these instances, the FBI lost the opportunity to arrest the main subject. The email says that one of the lost main subjects was noted to be “on the Terrorism Watch List” and another “returned to Iran.” The email further says that in another instance the State Department “blocked [FBI’s] plan to arrest while the subject was mid-flight and the subject was forced to leave the US immediately upon arrival.” The email also provides that at least two targets were arrested only after “State lifted their block…since the new [Trump] Administration took office.”</blockquote>
The letter said that these efforts to obstruct law enforcement were done &#8220;due to political reasons,&#8221; the letter said.
The letter said that Kerry&#8217;s efforts to obstruct law enforcement became such an issue that then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch had to meet with Kerry about the matter.

President Joe Biden&#8217;s Climate Czar said this week that he believes people would feel better about Russia&#8217;s war in Ukraine if Russia took steps to reduce its emissions.
The remarks from John Kerry, which happened during his final press conference, came as he stepped down from the role after serving throughout Biden&#8217;s first term in office.
&#8220;I believe that Russia has the ability to be able to make enormous changes if it really wanted to,&#8221; Kerry said. &#8220;I mean, if Russia has the ability to wage a war illegally and invade another country, they ought to be able to find the effort to be responsible on the climate issue. Unfortunately, because of the actions that Russia took in an unprovoked, illegal war against another nation, we have not been engaged in discussions with Russia.&#8221;
&#8220;Sadly, and I say sadly because it’s a loss for the world not to be able to have Russia acting constructively on this issue,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;But we need every country, including Russia — Russia is one of the largest emitters in the world — if Russia wanted to show good faith, they could go out and announce what their reductions are going to be and make a greater effort to reduce emissions now. Maybe that would open up the door for people to feel better about what Russia is choosing to do at this point in time.&#8221;

Special Climate Envoy John Kerry is expected to step down from his role in the coming weeks — and hit the campaign trail alongside President Joe Biden to tout the Biden administration&#8217;s efforts with regard to climate change.
Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/01/13/john-kerry-biden-campaign-climate-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">first reported</a> that Kerry, 80, was planning to shift into campaign mode on Saturday — mainly because he said that the climate was a key issue, and he feared that green initiatives would lose any momentum they may have had if Biden were to lose his 2024 re-election bid.

Kerry, according to Axios, informed the president of his &#8220;plans to help tell the climate story in the context of Biden&#8217;s campaign&#8221; during a meeting at the White House last week to recap last month&#8217;s COP28 climate conference.
He reportedly thanked Biden for choosing him to take on the role of Climate Envoy — and congratulated the president on his efforts to aid the climate agenda in his own policies and championed legislation.
The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/13/climate/john-kerry-climate-envoy.html?smid=tw-share" target="_blank" rel="noopener">also reported</a> on Kerry&#8217;s likely next steps, saying that he was expected to remain in his current role at least long enough to attend next week&#8217;s World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland — as well as the International Energy Agency&#8217;s upcoming meeting in Paris in February.
Kerry, who previously served as Secretary of State under former President Barack Obama, will not be the only Obama administration alum on the campaign trail for Biden. Former Secretary of State <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hillary-clinton-to-take-larger-role-in-bidens-re-election-campaign-and-even-democrats-are-laughing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hillary Clinton</a> is also expected to stump for Biden in the coming months.
&#8220;Clinton is popular with women and key parts of the Democratic base and remains a fundraising draw who can help ensure Biden has the money to get his message out. There is still a two-for-the-price-of-one theme when it comes to her family: Husband Bill Clinton made a cameo at the fundraising event at their Washington home,&#8221; NBC News reported.
But as some have noted on social media, both Clinton and Kerry also have something else in common: they both lost their own presidential bids. Clinton lost to former President Donald Trump in 2016 — after losing the 2008 primary to Obama — and Kerry lost to George W. Bush in 2004.
