<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/john-cena">John Cena</a> has opened up about his decision not to have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/fatherhood">kids</a>. 
The wrestling legend and actor discussed his choice during a recent appearance on the Club Shay Shay <a href="https://open.spotify.com/episode/4tQPlwrVpJJjcI4t4HtynW">podcast, </a>hosted by former NFL star Shannon Sharpe. 
“I don&#8217;t want them. I have a certain curiosity about life, and I also know the investment that it takes,&#8221; Cena told Sharpe. &#8220;As somebody who&#8217;s driven, many times stubborn and selfish, I try to approach the world with kindness and curiosity but I don’t think I’m personally ready, nor will I ever be, to invest the time [needed] to be a great parent,” he said, per <a href="https://www.huffpost.com/entry/why-john-cena-doesnt-want-kids_n_66d07b97e4b08063c0bf929b">HuffPost</a>.

“I want to live life for all it is,” Cena added. “I still have a lot to do.”
Cena said he and his wife Shay Shariatzadeh are “on the same page” when it comes to becoming parents and have had “open conversations” about it. 
“We both got to lean into these uncomfortable moments and address this stuff and now, we’ve actually built a foundation where, whenever one of us is feeling bothered, nothing’s off the table,” he said. “We have our disagreements, but we handle them right then and there. And nothing is too uncomfortable to be unapproachable. &#8230; Those conversations have helped me, at least, personally, and her forge a path together as a team.”
Cena previously discussed his decision not to have kids during an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show” in 2022. 
He responded to the talk show host saying he would be “the world’s greatest father.”
“I think just because you might be good at something, for me, is not a strong enough reason to do that,” he said at the time. “You have to have a passion for it. You have to have a fuel for it.”

During his latest podcast appearance, Cena told the host that he had given his decision a lot of thought.
“I can tell you this is not a knee-jerk reaction. I thought long and hard about this. My opinions only hit that gray area during emotionally difficult times,” he said. “And I’m very happy with where I stand. I have a lot of joy and fulfillment in my life. And that’s pretty much where I stand on it.”

Professional wrestler <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/john-cena">John Cena</a> announced he will retire from professional wrestling after his final match at next year&#8217;s WWE WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. 
The 47-year-old athlete, who has also worked as an actor, made the announcement during a speech in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/canada">Toronto</a> in front of a crowd at Scotiabank Arena.
“Thank you so much for letting me play in the house that you built for so many years,” Cena said. 
The 16-time WWE champ also mentioned there will be a farewell tour with dozens of dates before he steps out of the ring for good.
“I hear a mixed opinion out there. A lot of questions maybe, right? Like, why here? I want to talk about that for a second. I want to talk about Toronto. Matter of fact, I want to talk about Canada. Matter of fact, I want to talk about Canadians,” Cena continued in his speech, per <a href="https://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/john-cena-set-to-retire-from-wwe-in-2025/">US Weekly</a>.
He added, “I’ve been doing this a while. I’ve been in WWE for over two decades and in that time I’ve seen incredible waves of prosperity like we got right now. WWE is the hottest ticket in town, no doubt.”
“And I’ve also seen tremendous hardship and that’s when nobody knows your name, nobody wants to be your friend and only the most dedicated, hardcore fans stand by your side,” he went on.
“So in all those years one of the most important, one of the most impressive things that I learned was whether the WWE was hot or cold, Canadians always show up,” Cena said.
Cena became a mainstream celebrity with his character “Doctor of Thuganomics,” who was known for wearing gold chains and getting involved in rap battles, <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/john-cena-retirement-professional-wrestling-2025-season-1235940597/">The Hollywood Reporter</a> noted. 
He also appeared in the “Fast &amp; Furious” franchise,  the comedy thriller “Argylle” and last year’s summer blockbuster, “Barbie.” Cena had a guest role in season three of “The Bear” and will host Discovery’s Shark Week 2024 programming.

John Cena stripped down for a &#8220;nude&#8221; performance at the 96th Academy Awards at The Dolby Theater in Los Angeles and social media shared their thoughts about what appeared to be a naked man on the stage.
On Sunday, host <a href="https://x.com/Variety/status/1767294274100470076?s=20">Jimmy Kimmel</a> introduced the bit with Cena by talking about how it was the 30th anniversary of when a streaker ran across the stage at the Oscars in the 1970s, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/03/11/entertainment/was-john-cena-really-naked-during-oscars-2024-skit/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Post</a> reported.
&#8220;At the 46th Academy Awards, 1974, David Niven was in the middle of introducing Elizabeth Taylor when a nude man — a streaker — ran across the stage,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jimmy-kimmel-jokes-about-robert-downey-jr-s-past-drug-addiction-during-oscars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kimmel</a> told the audience in the room and at home.
&#8220;Can you imagine if a nude man ran across the stage today? Wouldn’t that be crazy?&#8221; he added, and it was clear he was about to possibly introduce a nude man.
It was then Cena popped up behind a piece on the set, and although he carried a strategically placed prop, he appeared to be not wearing a stitch of clothing.
&#8220;I changed my mind, I don&#8217;t want to do the streaker bit anymore,&#8221; Cena told Kimmel. &#8220;I don’t feel right about it.&#8221;

On Monday, <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/03/11/entertainment/was-john-cena-really-naked-during-oscars-2024-skit/">reports</a> surfaced that the actor wasn&#8217;t actually nude, only that he appeared that way. The reports included <a href="https://x.com/Hollywdinsdr/status/1767029151075008529?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">images</a> of the small material Cena was actually wearing when he appeared on stage next to Kimmel that covered his private parts and backside.
The bit was definitely one of the more surprising moments of the night — where the film &#8220;Oppenheimer&#8221; dominated, taking home 7 out of 13 nominations, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/oppenheimer-sweeps-96th-academy-awards" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.

Maher slammed Gu, an 18-year-old American skier who turned on the U.S. and competed for China in the recent Olympic games.
&#8220;Is that cool now, to choose to represent a totalitarian police state over America?&#8221; Maher asked. &#8220;The Olympics pretends to only be about sports, but of course, the games have always been a bit of a proxy war for which country has the best system. And by choosing Team China, Eileen Gu became a living symbol of China&#8217;s triumph over the West, which wouldn&#8217;t bother me so much if I thought China had triumphed over us in the ways that really matter. But they haven&#8217;t.”
&#8220;Now, we do have human rights issues right here at home, we do, but we&#8217;re still at least, for another three years, a democracy based on freedom, and they are an authoritarian surveillance state based on ‘How would you like to disappear for a few months?’” Maher said. &#8220;Like that tennis player [Peng Shuai] who recently vanished for a while when she said she had been raped by a government official. We do still throw too many black people in jail, but perspective matters. China has basically jailed an entire ethnic minority, the Uyghurs, a situation that both the Trump and Biden administrations [have] called a genocide. America is not close to that. And it&#8217;s a cynical dodge to pretend that China&#8217;s sins should be overlooked because we all do it. No.&#8221;
&#8220;In America, we&#8217;re supposed to root for democratic government, not apologize for it,&#8221; Maher said. &#8220;But the NBA has a television deal with China worth a billion-and-a-half dollars. So, LeBron James said Morey needed to be ‘educated on the situation,&#8217; the situation being, ‘I’ve got some shoes to sell.’”
&#8220;&#8216;Kowtow&#8217; is a Chinese word, but boy, Americans have gotten good at it,&#8221; Maher said, noting that companies gain access to Chinese markets only if they don&#8217;t upset the Chinese Communist Party. &#8220;That&#8217;s the deal China offers American companies and celebrities: We&#8217;ll give you access to our billion-plus consumers as long as you shut up about the whole police-state-genocide thing. John Cena took that deal. Well, c&#8217;mon. China accounts for 34% of global box office, and he&#8217;s a movie star now. So, like the Uyghurs, last year, he learned he needed to get some re-education. You see, John referred to Taiwan as a country, as if it was a separate country from China, which it is. But China would like to do to Taiwan what it did to Tibet and what it&#8217;s now doing to Hong Kong.&#8221;

It turns out John Cena&#8217;s apology to the Chinese Communist government for referring to Taiwan as a &#8220;country&#8221; may have been for naught.
According to<a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/f9-china-box-office-poor-reviews-john-cena-controversy-1234961123/"> The Hollywood Reporter</a> (THR), the latest installment in the &#8220;Fast &amp; Furious&#8221; franchise, &#8220;F9,&#8221; dropped 85% in the Chinese box office during its second weekend following a strong opening of $136 million one week prior.
&#8220;After two laps, the Vin Diesel/John Cena action flick has totaled $185.3 million. That’s slightly ahead of where franchise spinoff Hobbs &amp; Shaw was sitting at a similar point in its China run, but far weaker than the preceding franchise mainstays Furious 7 and The Fate of the Furious, which topped out at $390.9 million in 2015 and $392.8 million in 2017, respectively,&#8221; reported THR.
&#8220;Chinese ticketing app Maoyan currently projects F9 to finish at $211.9 million — certainly not a number to slouch at but far inferior to the franchise’s recent heights, especially since China’s theatrical market is back to full earning capacity,&#8221; according to the report.
Last week, one of the film&#8217;s chief stars, John Cena, ignited a firestorm across the internet, angering both the left and the right when he issued a groveling apology to China, in Mandarin, for having referred to Taiwan as an independent country &#8212; a statement of objective fact &#8212; in a previous interview.
“Hi China, I’m John Cena. I’m in the middle of Fast and Furious 9 promotions. I’m doing a lot of interviews. I made a mistake in one of my interviews. Everyone was asking me if I could use Chinese – [movie] staff gave me a lot of information, so there was a lot of interviews and information,” he said in a video posted to the Chinese social network Weibo. “I made one mistake. I have to say something very, very, very important now. I love and respect China and Chinese people. I’m very, very sorry about my mistake. I apologize, I apologize, I’m very sorry. You must understand that I really love, really respect China and the Chinese people. My apologies. See you.”
Practically no one, not even men as far-left as Keith Olbermann and Stephen Colbert, defended Cena&#8217;s apology; the wrestler-turned-actor was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/john-cena-blasted-after-apologizing-to-china-china-just-neutered-him-for-the-entire-world-to-see">universally mocked</a> all over social media.
Whether or not John Cena&#8217;s &#8220;gaffe&#8221; had anything to do with the film&#8217;s sudden box office drop has yet to be determined. As THR noted, the Chinese box office fluctuates rather quickly if negative word-of-mouth spreads. Though the &#8220;Fast &amp; Furious&#8221; franchise has been a favorite of the Chinese people for several years, &#8220;F9&#8221; has been &#8220;hit by withering reviews from the start.&#8221;
&#8220;Its social scores on Maoyan are 7.5 and 5.5 on Douban — lower than most major titles released this year,&#8221; noted THR. &#8221; Still, earlier in its run the film was forecasted to earn significantly more, and Cena’s public relations debacle certainly hasn’t helped.&#8221;

Comedian JP Sears hilariously mocked wrestler-turned-actor John Cena following his apology to the Chinese government after calling Taiwan a &#8220;country.&#8221;
In a post to his <a href="https://www.facebook.com/awakenwithjp">Facebook page</a> on Wednesday, Sears posed as John Cena and gave a mock apology in which he promised to continue to make more movies &#8220;void of creativity yet rich in propaganda&#8221; for the country.
&#8220;I’d like to sincerely apologize to the CCP for calling the country of Taiwan a country. I couldn’t be more sorry, have smaller testicles, or have less bravery,&#8221; said the post. &#8220;I strive to be a shining example of soulless Hollywood who is happy to pledge my allegiance to the communist party who is currently committing genocide so that I may receive more money for staring in films void of creativity yet rich in propaganda.&#8221;
Sears, posing as John Cena, went on to say that he will continue to support the CCP&#8217;s ongoing campaign of genocide, while praising communism.
&#8220;I also fully support the CCP’s efforts to completely strip their citizen’s [sic] freedoms from them,&#8221; said the comedian. &#8220;I’m excited for the US government to do the same to its citizens. I also apologize to all the kids who look up to me because, for a moment, I was accidentally not a complete coward. I’m sorry for my momentary lapse of judgment. Taiwan is not a country. All hail communism. I am currently happily bent over with my soulless butt cheeks spread for anything the genocidal CCP wants me to say. Stay tuned.&#8221;
This past December, JP Sears, who has routinely mocked leftist political correctness as well as the excesses of COVID-19 lockdowns, asked his 2.7 million Facebook followers to join him on Parler after Facebook threatened to unpublish his page for violating “Community Standards.”

Comedian JP Sears Hilariously Roasts John Cena: ‘All Hail Communism’

It’s no great secret that Communist China is a despotic, murderous, and evil regime. For example, it’s been widely reported that up to one million Uyghur Muslims have been forcibly detained by the brutal Chinese communist government in so-called “re-education camps,” where they are reportedly subjected to forced labor, indoctrination, and sterilization, and women are systematically raped. Let alone their disregard for the rights of other sovereign nations, or even their own non-Muslim citizens.
Almost a year ago, I wrote that “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/haworth-china-is-our-generations-nazi-germany">China is our generation’s Nazi Germany</a>.” As their pattern of human rights abuse continues with an obsessive eye toward economic and regional domination, that categorization remains true.
And this is why the image of Western superstars groveling for the forgiveness of our generation’s Nazi Germany is so appalling. Few regimes on Earth exhibit such depraved immorality that a “good versus bad” calculus becomes almost redundant, and China is one of them. The lack of subtlety or nuance regarding the abhorrent nature of China’s actions makes the propensity of Western superstars to bend for China even more nauseating.
Enter John Cena.
The actor and WWE star appeared on Chinese social media on Tuesday to apologize&#8230;for referring to Taiwan as a “country” while promoting “Fast &amp; Furious 9.”
“On May 8, TVBS released a video of Cena excitedly promoting the film ‘Fast &amp; Furious 9’ in Mandarin for Taiwanese audiences,” <a href="https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/4209917">reported</a> Taiwan News. “In the video, Cena emphasized that ‘Taiwan will be the first country to see Fast &amp; Furious 9,’ and speaking to Taiwanese viewers, he reiterated, ‘You are the first to see this movie.&#8217;”
Cena apologized in Chinese, with the South China Morning Post <a href="https://www.scmp.com/sport/martial-arts/wrestling/article/3134752/wwe-superstar-john-cena-very-sorry-chinese-fans">translating</a> his revolting self-flagellation to re-ingratiate himself with the despotic regime:

This, frankly, is revolting. Not only is it ridiculous to apologize to an evil regime for mere words, but Cena is apologizing for true words. Taiwan, despite what China claims, is a country. 
For reasons we can only assume are financial in nature, John Cena is ignoring basic facts while kneeling at the feet of the world’s darkest dictatorship and begging for their forgiveness.
Of course, John Cena is not the first celebrity to dance for his dinner. LeBron James, for example, famously avoids criticizing China’s authoritarian policies for the same reasons.
On an individual level, it is shocking for John Cena to kiss the boots of a government who are mirroring the genocidal strategies of Nazi Germany. On a moral and cultural level, Cena’s money-driven capitulation proves just how blurry the line between good and evil becomes when money is involved.

John Cena Blasted After Apologizing To China: ‘China Just Neutered’ Him ‘For The Entire World To See’

Actor and WWE star John Cena apologized on Chinese social media on Tuesday for having referred to Taiwan as a &#8220;country&#8221; in recent remarks that he made to promote &#8220;Fast &amp; Furious 9.&#8221;
&#8220;On May 8, TVBS released a video of Cena excitedly promoting the film &#8216;Fast &amp; Furious 9&#8217; in Mandarin for Taiwanese audiences,&#8221; Taiwan News <a href="https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/4209917">reported</a>. &#8220;In the video, Cena emphasized that &#8216;Taiwan will be the first country to see Fast &amp; Furious 9,&#8217; and speaking to Taiwanese viewers, he reiterated, &#8216;You are the first to see this movie.'&#8221;
Online backlash ensued and Cena rushed to apologize to communist China for offending them. According to the South China Morning Post, Cena <a href="https://www.scmp.com/sport/martial-arts/wrestling/article/3134752/wwe-superstar-john-cena-very-sorry-chinese-fans">said</a>:

Cena&#8217;s remarks that he &#8220;really loves&#8221; and &#8220;really respects&#8221; China comes as the world is still recovering from the worst pandemic in more than a century that erupted in Wuhan, China, and that more and more <a href="https://twitter.com/VinceCoglianese/status/1396807839180599297">experts</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/former-cdc-director-says-he-thinks-coronavirus-came-from-a-chinese-lab">scientists</a> are <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/05/25/timeline-how-wuhan-lab-leak-theory-suddenly-became-credible/">beginning</a> to believe <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBq-LV3Jm1M">likely</a> came from a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/multiple-researchers-at-chinese-lab-in-wuhan-were-hospitalized-with-covid-19-like-symptoms-in-november-2019-u-s-intelligence-report">Chinese lab</a>.

<li>Threatened numerous nations that have been critical of its <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/24/world/europe/disinformation-china-eu-coronavirus.html">propaganda campaign</a> and who have called for international <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-australia-china/australia-rejects-chinese-economic-coercion-threat-amid-planned-coronavirus-probe-idUSKCN2290Z6">investigations</a> into China.</li>

<li>Repeatedly lied about the extent of the coronavirus outbreak in their country, according to top <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-u-s-intelligence-tells-trump-that-china-intentionally-lied-about-coronavirus-outbreak-report-says">U.S. intelligence officials</a>, estimates from <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/aei-releases-conservative-estimate-of-chinas-true-outbreak-numbers-its-staggering">top think tanks</a>, and other <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/british-scientific-advisers-claim-chinas-outbreak-could-be-15-to-40-times-worse-than-reported-report-says">foreign governments</a> including <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/iran-hits-at-ally-china-chinas-coronavirus-numbers-a-bitter-joke-not-trustworthy">China’s own allies</a>. China then shipped <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2020/03/31/list-countries-faulty-coronavirus-supplies-china/">faulty</a> medical supplies all over the world.</li>
<li><a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/07/health/cdc-coronavirus-china.html">Refused</a> to allow CDC and WHO officials into China for months to learn about the coronavirus and to help contain the outbreak.</li>
<li>The Five Eyes is an intelligence alliance — which is comprised of intelligence agencies from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand — <a href="https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/coronavirus/bombshell-dossier-lays-out-case-against-chinese-bat-virus-program/news-story/55add857058731c9c71c0e96ad17da60">concluded in a research document</a> that China engaged in “the suppression and destruction of evidence” and pointed to “virus samples ordered destroyed at genomics labs, wildlife market stalls bleached, the genome sequence not shared publicly, the Shanghai lab closure for ‘rectification’, academic articles subjected to prior review by the Ministry of Science and Technology and data on asymptomatic ‘silent carriers’ kept secret”.</li>
<li>Have <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/13/world/asia/coronavirus-china-conspiracy-theory.html">falsely claimed</a> that the U.S. military brought the coronavirus to Wuhan.</li>

The Daily Wire additionally reported:

A conservative estimate in April from the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) — which gave China every benefit of the doubt when coming up with their calculations, and then some — suggested that China severely and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/aei-releases-conservative-estimate-of-chinas-true-outbreak-numbers-its-staggering">“deliberately”</a> underreported their numbers and that China’s true numbers at the time had to be at least 2.9 million infections with well over 100,000 deaths.</blockquote>
Then-Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dni-china-allowed-coronavirus-to-spread-to-whole-world">said</a> in December that the Chinese Communist Party, when they knew about the coronavirus’s transmissibility, “allowed it to go from China to the rest of the world.”
“They intentionally and deliberately downplayed it in their country, pressured World Health Organizations, and allowed it to spread to the rest of the world,” Ratcliffe added. “And that didn’t just have the effect of wrecking the global economy. It didn’t just have the effect of killing millions of people, including hundreds of thousands of Americans. It also had grave political consequences.”
