Sunny Hostin launched into a tirade against Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) after news broke that he was among the Republicans vying to become the next House speaker — a tirade that ended with her being forced to clarify with a legal note.
Hostin made the comments during Thursday&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;The View,&#8221; referring to Jordan as a &#8220;political terrorist&#8221; (in former House Speaker John Boehner&#8217;s words) and claiming that he had been &#8220;linked&#8221; to a sex abuse scandal at Ohio State University.

The conversation began with the historic ouster of now ex-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and then turned to the Republicans who hoped to replace him in the coming weeks.
&#8220;I will just say about Jim Jordan, you know, he has been called by his own party, by John Boehner, a political terrorist,&#8221; Hostin said. &#8220;He&#8217;s also been linked to the Ohio State sexual abuse scandal.&#8221;

&#8220;I testified in front of Congress about something so simple, cameras in courtrooms,&#8221; Hostin continued. &#8220;He came in late, he looked disheveled, and he immediately was screaming and yelling, and terrorized me and the other experts on the panel.&#8221;
Hostin went on to claim that &#8220;terrorist&#8221; was exactly the right word, calling Jordan a &#8220;chaos agent.&#8221;
&#8220;The thought of him being Speaker of the House I think leads to more chaos,&#8221; she said.
As the segment wrapped up, Hostin was directed to read a legal note clarifying her statement about Jordan – specifically that he said he did not know anything about the sex abuse scandal when he worked at Ohio State.
&#8220;I have a legal note,&#8221; she announced with a pained expression on her face. &#8220;Representative Jim Jordan has denied that he knew about the sexual abuse of wrestlers during his years working at Ohio State University.&#8221;
&#8220;Congressman Jordan never saw any abuse, never heard about any abuse, and never had any abuse reported to him during his time as a coach at Ohio State,&#8221; his office said in a <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/03/politics/jim-jordan-sexual-abuse-allegations-ohio-congress/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2018 statement</a>.

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-snarling-face-of-the-donor-class-tucker-carlson-takes-aim-at-dan-crenshaw-in-mccarthy-fight" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GOP Establishment</a> has never liked the House Freedom Caucus. In fact, they have spent years slandering every iteration of the group as a cadre of nutcases cobbled together to cause chaos — and that&#8217;s to put it lightly.
Congressman <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/crenshaw-blasts-anti-mccarthy-republicans-tell-us-what-you-actually-want-or-shut-the-f-up" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dan Crenshaw (R-TX)</a> called the group of 20 Republicans holding out on supporting Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) a bunch of &#8220;terrorists&#8221; on Wednesday night. He has since said it was just a figure of speech, but he had a near conniption on CNN, blasting the same group as &#8220;enemies.&#8221;

Nonetheless, it wasn&#8217;t exactly a unique insult from a moderate Republican toward his conservative colleagues.
In fact, Crenshaw sounded pretty similar to former Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH). Crenshaw also bemoaned this week that the Freedom Caucus took the &#8220;scalp&#8221; of Boehner more than half a decade ago.
Boehner, the ex-Ohio congressman who recently wept over Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, hated the Freedom Caucus.
He&#8217;s actually had kinder words to say about Democrats than he ever did for those in his own party who bucked his wing of the GOP.
As previously reported, in 2017, Boehner <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boehner-cries-for-pelosi-while-conservatives-weep-for-america" target="_blank" rel="noopener">whined</a> that the Freedom Caucus coalition &#8220;can’t tell you what they’re for. They can tell you everything they’re against. They’re anarchists. They want total chaos. Tear it all down and start over. That’s where their mindset is.&#8221;
He also called them &#8220;far-right kooks&#8221; in his memoir. Yet his complaints don&#8217;t exactly have merit.
What the group really wanted was somebody who could deliver — contrary to his criticisms — on very specific policy goals that they stood for as lined out in an agenda they called &#8220;Contract With America II.&#8221;
Those objectives <a href="https://www.thefiscaltimes.com/2015/11/17/House-Freedom-Caucus-Prepares-Challenge-Ryan-2016-Agenda" target="_blank" rel="noopener">included, among other things</a>:
<ul>
<li>Overhauling Social Security, Medicare and other politically sensitive entitlement programs</li>
<li>Repealing the estate tax</li>
<li>Trying once again to repeal the Affordable Care Act</li>
<li>Further boosting defense spending so that the Pentagon has sufficient funding to wage two major wars in different parts of the world without having to make offsetting cuts elsewhere</li>
<li>Cutting U.S. dependency on foreign oil by 20 percent by 2025</li>
<li>Closing corporate tax loopholes</li>
<li>Cutting the top corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 20 percent</li>
<li>Slashing federal regulations and red tape by 20 percent</li>
<li>Balancing the budget</li>
<li>Denying federal funding to Planned Parenthood and other organizations involved with performing abortions</li>
</ul>
Leading the group at the time was Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH). More establishment members complained that they simply couldn&#8217;t make any of the demands happen — despite Republicans campaigning on doing those things for decades.
So, Jordan was later blasted by Boehner as &#8220;a terrorist as a legislator going back to his days in the Ohio House and Senate … A terrorist. A legislative terrorist.&#8221;
Perhaps that&#8217;s where Crenshaw borrowed the term from in 2023.
So, since the group didn&#8217;t feel confident in leadership in 2015, the Freedom Caucus effectively pushed Boehner out of the speakership position.
When the Freedom Caucus wouldn&#8217;t go for McCarthy at that time — due to similar concerns being argued right now — the job went to then-Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI), who received majority support from the representatives.
Ryan had moderate success working with the so-called &#8220;rebels&#8221; during the Trump years, but not all changes the group wanted were implemented during that time to truly change how Washington works.
So, it seems they&#8217;re now standing against McCarthy until a satisfactory amount of rule changes and other requests are ensured so that they can better prevent the federal government from contributing to the decline of the nation.
Of course, it should be noted that the Freedom Caucus was largely born out of Tea Party members dissatisfied with the status quo and unwilling to be co-opted by the establishment.
Many of the early members of the Freedom Caucus were from the Tea Party.
The grassroots movement members, for their part, were also <a href="https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/andrewkaczynski/former-majority-leader-eric-cantor-slams-the-tea-party-and-t" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blasted</a> as &#8220;radicals&#8221; by folks such as former Representative Eric Cantor (R-VA). Cantor was also touted by the GOP Establishment as a future leader of the party. He was even expected to be the next Speaker after Boehner until he lost his primary in 2014 against a Tea Party candidate.
Why did Cantor also hate the Tea Party? Well, the Tea Party simply wanted a GOP that didn&#8217;t pass Democrat-lite bills. In other words, the movement wanted the Republican Party to be truly conservative.
Now, a group of like-minded individuals carries on that fight in the House — this time demanding that rules are changed to ensure conservative bills make it to the floor, bad ones are blocked, and that there are guardrails to ensure that the out-of-touch GOP elite can&#8217;t squash true conservative opposition.
After McCarthy has failed to gain the magic number of 218 votes in Congress to win the speakership after a whopping nine rounds of votes, it looks like the Freedom Caucus may be successful this go-around at getting what they want.

Good for you, John.

Incredibly effective for who — he did not say.
Boehner&#8217;s admiration for Pelosi is well-documented. Boehner has been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pelosi-and-the-swamp-millions-of-babies-killed-record-overdoses-job-loss-and-open-borders" target="_blank" rel="noopener">more complimentary</a> of Pelosi than he has for the likes of the Tea Party, House Freedom Caucus, or former President Donald J. Trump.
Why?
Well, all three mentioned have stood athwart the D.C. establishment that has expanded the size of government, weakened our borders, and shipped American jobs overseas — among other disasters to the detriment of most Americans. Neither the establishment of the Democrat nor Republican Party likes being challenged.
The two speakers are enmeshed in The Uniparty and work to keep out challengers in the ranks. That&#8217;s why they have each other&#8217;s respect.
So rather than stand up for Republicans who buck D.C. politicians, Boehner has previously lamented that &#8220;not every Republican is a Reagan Republican. Some of them are just knuckleheads. I had my share of battles with the knuckleheads.&#8221;
That line was likely about the aforementioned House Freedom Caucus — the group co-founded by current Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and now features folks like Representative Chip Roy (R-TX).
In 2017, Boehner <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2017/10/john-boehner-on-republican-party" target="_blank" rel="noopener">whined</a>, &#8220;They can&#8217;t tell you what they&#8217;re for. They can tell you everything they&#8217;re against. They&#8217;re anarchists. They want total chaos. Tear it all down and start over. That&#8217;s where their mindset is.&#8221;
Well, actually the Freedom Caucus can tell you exactly what it stands for. All you have to do is <a href="https://twitter.com/freedomcaucus" target="_blank" rel="noopener">look</a> at their Twitter bio.
&#8220;We support open, accountable &amp; limited govt, the Constitution &amp; the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty, safety &amp; prosperity of all Americans.&#8221;
Beyond that, they&#8217;ve demanded actual bills which would accomplish those goals — not just sound good for gullible voters.
What they want is not that complex. That&#8217;s what most Republicans claim to do on the campaign trail before they get to D.C.
So it&#8217;s not that Boehner doesn&#8217;t know what the group stands for, it&#8217;s that actually following through on conservative goals would result in being criticized and losing the friendship of the Left.
If you&#8217;re not taking true criticism from the Left, it&#8217;s unlikely you&#8217;re being &#8220;effective&#8221; at defeating them — which is the whole point of electing Republicans in the first place.
The only GOP-ers who Democrats appreciate are the ones who don&#8217;t stand in their way — in other words, controlled opposition.
Believe it or not, some elected Republicans sympathize with Americans who have been crushed by the heavy hand of big government. Some conservatives actually believe in traditional values and want Congress to defend life in the womb, promote policies that benefit the family, and defend America&#8217;s Judeo-Christian values.
Boehner doesn&#8217;t have sympathy for those citizens, but he has been moved by the struggles of Pelosi in recent years.
&#8220;What Nancy Pelosi and other sane Democrats — the ones who’ve been around long enough to know how things work — are dealing with from AOC and her Squad reminds me a lot of what I had to deal with during my days as Speaker from the far-right kooks of the Tea Party or the Freedom Caucus or whatever they were calling themselves,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.cleveland.com/open/2021/04/john-boehners-political-memoir-disses-trump-and-tea-party-but-avoids-ohio-controversies.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in his memoir.
The GOP base is made up of &#8220;far-right kooks,&#8221; according to Boehner.
Pelosi, as he said Wednesday night, is &#8220;one tough cookie&#8221; worthy of praise.
It is difficult to recall Boehner calling Pelosi a &#8220;kook&#8221; for supporting amnesty, abortion, or any of President Joe Biden&#8217;s disastrous policies over the last few years.
In his speech, Boehner stated that he and the California congresswoman &#8220;disagreed politically on many things, but we were never disagreeable to each other.&#8221;
Yet based on his ire for those to his right, it is clear that while he had an &#8220;R&#8221; next to his name and Pelosi had a &#8220;D,&#8221; the two had more in common than he claims.
Such is the case for a number of officials in the Beltway. Many Republicans are not in D.C. to work on behalf of conservatives, they are there to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bad-news-for-americans-bipartisanship-is-back-here-comes-amnesty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">make deals with Democrats</a> at the expense of the base.
With Boehner — and his cronies still lingering around the GOP Establishment — it is all a smoke-and-mirror parlor game.
Perhaps that is what he meant when he told her, &#8220;Game recognizes game.&#8221;

Former House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) got emotional Wednesday as he delivered a tribute to outgoing Speaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nancy-pelosi" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nancy Pelosi</a> (D-CA).
The retired congressman appeared to fight back tears as he delivered remarks at the ceremonial unveiling of Pelosi&#8217;s official portrait at the U.S. Capitol.
“You’ve been unfailingly gracious to me, to my family, and, frankly, my team here in Washington,&#8221; Boehner said.
&#8220;And Madam Speaker, I have to say, my girls told me, ‘Tell the Speaker how much we admire her,’” Boehner added as he began to choke up. Following a round of applause, he remarked, “If you couldn’t tell, my girls are Democrats.&#8221;

Preceded by Pelosi in her first stint in the role, Boehner served as House speaker from 2011 up until his resignation in 2015. During his tenure in Congress, Boehner garnered a reputation for crying, including during a victory speech when Republicans won control of the House in 2010.
Pelosi said she was &#8220;honored&#8221; by Boehner&#8217;s presence and quipped that she &#8220;would have been a little disappointed if he did not get emotional,&#8221; <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/former-speaker-john-boehner-tears-pelosi-portrait-unveiling-rcna61805" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to NBC News</a>.
After becoming the first female speaker of the House in 2007, Pelosi served four years in that role, and did not hold it again until 2019.

Boehner also talked about how he and Pelosi were &#8220;never disagreeable&#8221; to each other despite being at odds politically and he shared the story behind the kiss he gave Pelosi in 2011 when she handed him the speaker&#8217;s gavel in 2011, <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/house/3775612-boehner-gets-emotional-in-pelosi-tribute-my-girls-told-me-tell-the-speaker-how-much-we-admire-her/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to The Hill</a>.
In attendance at the event was Pelosi&#8217;s husband, Paul Pelosi, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/body-cam-footage-of-paul-pelosi-attack-shown-in-court" target="_blank" rel="noopener">survived a hammer attack at their residence in California in late October</a>.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-nancy-pelosi-will-not-seek-job-as-top-house-democrat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that she will not seek re-election to Democratic leadership in the new <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-republicans-win-majority-in-house-projection" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Congress</a>. This can only mean that the 82 year old is one step closer to retirement.
Good riddance.
Since she was elected into office, America has been ruthlessly gutted of blue-collar jobs, strong borders, and precious life spanning all ages.
This, of course, was not solely her fault. It takes two to tango in Washington, D.C., and her team was aided and abetted by a Republican Party that often seemed to pass Democrat-lite policies.
It was no surprise then that former GOP Speakers of the House John Boehner and Paul Ryan wished Pelosi well as she stepped down from leadership.

Pelosi, elected in 1987, Boehner, elected in 1990, and Ryan, elected in 1998, were intimately involved in either creating a dismal America riddled with social ailments or allowing it to happen.
In other words, their legacy has consisted of constantly putting Americans last, especially those most vulnerable among us.
For example, since 1987, nearly 40 million babies have been aborted in the womb, <a href="https://nrlc.org/uploads/factsheets/FS01AbortionintheUS.pdf">according</a> to the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute.
Pelosi has constantly championed a woman&#8217;s so-called right to choose while also claiming that she is a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pro-abortion-pelosi-describes-herself-as-devout-practicing-catholic-jokes-pro-lifers-would-like-to-throw-me-out" target="_blank" rel="noopener">devout Catholic</a>.
Her support for the &#8220;right&#8221; to kill children has been so profound that her own bishop has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bishop-who-denied-pelosi-communion-said-biden-brings-about-pain-and-death-elected-leader-of-pro-life-committee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">barred</a> priests from allowing her to receive the Eucharist — the source and summit of the faith, reserved for those in a state of grace (without mortal sin).
On the spiritual side, her anti-life stance has been a source of confusion and scandal for millions of Catholics, adding to her egregious behavior.
Boehner and Ryan are also Catholic, but evidently thought she was still worthy of praise.
Beyond fatalities in the womb, deaths from drug overdoses — preventable and otherwise — have skyrocketed. &#8220;In 2020, 83,558 people died from preventable drug overdoses – an increase of 649% since 1999,&#8221; <a href="https://injuryfacts.nsc.org/home-and-community/safety-topics/drugoverdoses/data-details/#:~:text=In%202020%2C%2083%2C558%20people%20died,%2C%20homicide%2C%20and%20undetermined%20intents." target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
In 2021, more than 100,000 people <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/nchs_press_releases/2022/202205.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">died</a> of a drug overdose. Many of those deaths involved fentanyl.
Similarly, America has lost millions of manufacturing jobs over the past three decades. The nation has <a href="https://www.bls.gov/opub/mlr/2018/beyond-bls/the-fall-of-employment-in-the-manufacturing-sector.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">seen</a> 5.5 million of those positions cease to exist since the year 2000.
Except, those jobs didn&#8217;t simply go away. D.C. policies often encouraged companies to create their products in far-off countries. Cheaper products would benefit the American people. In 2016, folks like Ryan were still <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2016/08/01/politics/paul-ryan-free-trade-koch-brothers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">arguing</a> that virtually unlimited free trade was a good thing, pushing back against policies he deemed &#8220;protectionist.&#8221;
To her credit, Pelosi spoke out against trade deals with China in the 1990s but was ultimately unable to stop the bleeding.
In the end, the evidence shows that the loss of jobs is partly <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6606896/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">responsible</a> for increased drug use since social degradation and loss of purpose lead to finding fulfillment in vices like drugs. In turn, a government <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6606896/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">focused</a> on creating as cheap a product as possible with little regard for the country’s social fabric, turns out, is a bad thing.
Now, despite hundreds dying each day, there does not seem to be a concern for the matter stemming from Washington. Fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-45, yet that was barely mentioned during the midterm campaigns by either party.
Where do those narcotics come from?
According to a <a href="https://trone.house.gov/2022/02/08/cnn-commission-report-fentanyl/#:~:text=Fentanyl%20is%20trafficked%20principally%20by,Postal%20Service%2C%20the%20report%20said." target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>, the &#8220;dominant&#8221; source of fentanyl in the U.S. is Mexico.
Pounds upon pounds of the deadly substance are stopped by border patrol every year, but the numbers have gone up dramatically under Biden.
All three — Pelosi, Boehner, and Ryan — opposed varying degrees of tighter border security and often worked for some <a href="https://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/boehner-gop-immigration-plan-not-amnesty-msna261096" target="_blank" rel="noopener">amnesty</a> for illegal immigrants.
That porous border has undoubtedly contributed to the epidemic of drug overdoses, a report from the federal Commission on Combating Synthetic Opioid Trafficking <a href="https://trone.house.gov/2022/02/08/cnn-commission-report-fentanyl/#:~:text=Fentanyl%20is%20trafficked%20principally%20by,Postal%20Service%2C%20the%20report%20said." target="_blank" rel="noopener">indicated</a>.
On that note, according to a 2018 Yale study, as many as 29 million illegal aliens have <a href="https://insights.som.yale.edu/insights/yale-study-finds-twice-as-many-undocumented-immigrants-as-previous-estimates" target="_blank" rel="noopener">entered</a> the country since 1987. Our sovereignty has taken a dramatic hit since the 1986 amnesty bill heralded by then-Congressman Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
In recent years, Biden&#8217;s policies, supported by Pelosi, have created a tsunami of illegal immigration.
Again, how is that worthy of praise from former GOP elected officials like Boehner and Ryan?
Through it all, federal spending has also <a href="https://www.federalbudgetinpictures.com/federal-spending-per-person-is-skyrocketing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">soared</a>, as has the size of government, yet when real conservative opposition formed in reaction to that reality — The Tea Party — Boehner, Ryan, and Pelosi threw them under the bus.
In 2021, Boehner <a href="https://www.cleveland.com/open/2021/04/john-boehners-political-memoir-disses-trump-and-tea-party-but-avoids-ohio-controversies.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> in his memoir, &#8220;What Nancy Pelosi and other sane Democrats — the ones who’ve been around long enough to know how things work — are dealing with from AOC and her Squad reminds me a lot of what I had to deal with during my days as Speaker from the far-right kooks of the Tea Party or the Freedom Caucus or whatever they were calling themselves.&#8221;
The Tea Party and Freedom Caucus simply wanted a government that stayed within its budget, returned power back to the states, defunded Planned Parenthood, and secured the border among other things that Republicans such as Boehner and Ryan had been promising to do for years.
To put into context how unbelievable Boehner’s remark is, Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was a founding member of the Freedom Caucus — which would mean that Boehner thinks of him as a &#8220;kook&#8221; as well.
The trio&#8217;s gripes with former President Donald Trump are well known, yet none of them seem to realize that their failure on matters discussed in this column can explain his rise and why Americans flocked to him.
Boehner resigned as speaker in 2015 after his apparent life goal of getting the pope to speak before Congress was accomplished. There was <a href="https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2015/09/john-boehner-resigned-after-the-popes-visit-there-was-nothing-left-for-the-house-speaker-to-achieve.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nothing</a> left for him to do, he has implied numerous times. A pope speaking before Congress is nice, but it doesn’t really do anything for the American people.
Ryan decided against seeking re-election during the Trump administration and slinked away for a few years only to return in recent months to castigate Trump. Ryan is still arguing that Republicans <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/a-plan-to-save-americas-finances-fiscal-monetary-policy-debt-deficits-social-contract-midterm-election-healthcare-11668638378" target="_blank" rel="noopener">need</a> to focus mostly on economic issues and the threat of government in order to win big.
He says this despite social issue victories in states like Virginia and Florida. Trump’s policies, which Ryan has warned against, grew the party in ways Ryan only dreamed of. Now DeSantis and Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) are expanding on Trumpism.
Yet oddly enough, Boehner and Ryan have kinder words for Pelosi than they ever have had for Trump or the Tea Party.
Sure, she held her left-wing socialists at bay in recent years, but Pelosi also enriched herself with all-too-timely stock trades that have raised eyebrows.
Americans, meanwhile, have suffered under the Swamp as multiple generations of politicians from both parties have focused on all the wrong problems as they silence any true grassroots movements to shake up the system.
She scored wins for the Democratic Party, but those don&#8217;t translate into victories for the voters.
Why the praise, unless your worldview aligns more with the Democrats than the conservative base?

Cruz&#8217;s comment came in response to a preview of Boehner&#8217;s Sunday interview with &#8220;CBS Sunday Morning,&#8221; during which he excoriated some of the more outspoken Republican members of Congress.
Lashing out at Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Boehner confirmed that he believes him to be a &#8220;political terrorist,&#8221; saying, &#8220;I just never saw a guy who spent more time tearing things apart and never building anything, never putting anything together.&#8221;
Pivoting to Cruz, Boehner said, &#8220;I don&#8217;t beat anybody up — it&#8217;s not really my style, except for that jerk. Perfect symbol, you know, of getting elected, making a lot of noise, draw a lot of attention to yourself, raise a lot of money, which means you&#8217;re gonna go make more noise, raise more money — it&#8217;s really unfortunate.&#8221;
According to <a href="https://www.axios.com/boehner-ted-cruz-new-memoir-df75a3a2-5f03-434c-8425-2f072eceec0e.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Axios</a>, Boehner reportedly also let loose against Cruz in February while recording the audiobook version of his new memoir &#8220;On The House: A Washington Memoir,&#8221; which is slated for release next week. In one outtake, Boehner reportedly said, &#8220;Oh, and Ted Cruz, go f**k yourself.&#8221; The book will regale readers with &#8220;colorful tales from the halls of power, the smoke-filled rooms around the halls of power and his fabled tour bus.&#8221;
“I can confirm there were some off-script moments during his recording of the audiobook,&#8221; Boehner spokesman David Schnittger told Axios. &#8220;He pretty much just let it fly, as he did when he was working on the book itself. He’s not really interested in being anything other than himself these days. That is kind of the spirit of the entire project.”
&#8220;You know yesterday, John Boehner made some news,&#8221; Cruz <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/02/26/john-boehner-tells-ted-cruz-go-f-k-yourself-in-audiobook-memoir/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">said</a> to the Conservative Political Action Conference in response to his alleged comment. &#8220;He suggested that I do something that is anatomically impossible. Cruz and Boehner have clashed in the past. On Sunday, House Majority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) appeared on CNN&#8217;s &#8220;State of the Union.&#8221; During an exchange with host Dana Bash, McCarthy defended the direction in which the Republican Party is going:

Human trafficking &#8211; the modern day slavery &#8211; we actually eliminated that process when it comes to online, where 70% of that is being used.
Look what we&#8217;re doing in two weeks here. 70 different bills when it comes to opioid; rebuilding the military. And then one thing we&#8217;ve never even talked about [in] this discussion &#8211; come June 12, North Korea is sitting down talking about dismantling their nuclear weapons.
So, you know what? I&#8217;m proud of this Republican Party. I&#8217;m proud of what we&#8217;ve been able to achieve. Two million more jobs in America. Yes, we are working hard, exactly what we said we would do. That is a proud Republican Party; that is a Party that stands on their principles. Acreage Holdings simultaneously <a href="https://www.acreageholdings.com/news-release-board-of-advisors-appointment">issued a release</a> announcing Boehner&#8217;s appointment to the board as well as the appointment of former Massachusetts governor William Weld. The company stated:

Boehner and Weld issued this joint statement:

Over the past 20 years a growing number of states have experimented with their right to offer cannabis programs under the protection of the 10th amendment. Also, during this period, the public perception of cannabis has dramatically shifted, with 94% of Americans currently in favor of some type of access, a shift driven by increased awareness of marijuana&#8217;s many medical applications.

While the Tenth Amendment has allowed much to occur at the state level, there are still many negative implications of the Federal policy to schedule cannabis as a Class 1 drug: most notably the lack of research, the ambiguity around financial services and the refusal of the VA to offer it as an alternative to the harmful opioids that are ravishing our communities.

An excerpt from Michael Wolff&#8217;s new book, &#8220;Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,&#8221; claims that President Donald Trump did not know who a key Republican politician was as recently as the day after his election win &#8212; a claim that is easily proven to be a lie.
During a meeting with former Fox News head Roger Ailes at Trump Tower the day after the election, Ailes told Trump that he needed someone who could enforce structure in the White House, <a href="http://thehill.com/homenews/news/367247-trump-jr-pushes-back-on-report-trump-didnt-know-who-boehner-was-more-lies">The Hill</a> reported.
&#8220;You need a son of a b*tch as your chief of staff,&#8221; Ailes purportedly told Trump. &#8220;And you need a son of a bitch who knows Washington. You&#8217;ll want to be your own son of a b*tch, but you don&#8217;t know Washington.&#8221;
Ailes told Trump that he should pick former Republican House Speaker John Boehner.
Wolff claims that Trump responded by asking, &#8220;Who&#8217;s that?&#8221;
The notion that Trump did not know who Boehner was is obviously false, as evidenced by tweets from Trump dated years before he ran for president.

BUSTED: Part Of New Book That Rips Trump Is Proven To Be A Lie

On Sunday, in the latest round of leftist media adoration for deposed Republican figures they hated about five minutes ago, Politico ran a fawning profile of one-time Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH). Boehner wasn&#8217;t a particularly successful speaker &#8212; he led the House Republicans from 2007 to 2015, as both Minority Leader and Speaker. Boehner was deposed because he was widely perceived as caving to President Obama&#8217;s funding priorities; he seemed cold on the prospect of defunding particular aspects of the government if it meant going up against Obama directly.
Boehner&#8217;s record <a href="http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/01/05/six-times-john-boehner-proved-his-incompetence/">wasn&#8217;t particularly strong</a>. In 2008, Boehner pushed through President Bush&#8217;s bank bailout. In 2010, Boehner posed as a hard-core conservative opposed to President Obama&#8217;s agenda tooth and nail. That didn&#8217;t last long. In 2011, he undercut House Republicans on their debt ceiling push for serious spending reform; shortly afterward, Boehner cut a deal with Democrats on the Budget Control Act, also known as &#8220;sequestration.&#8221; That deal slashed $1.2 trillion from the budget from 2013 to 2021 &#8212; but instead of holding President Obama&#8217;s feet to the fire, Boehner simply rammed through a bill that would take half of those cuts from defense if no actual material cuts were agreed to. Those cuts didn&#8217;t materialize, and Obama slashed defense. In 2011, Boehner also jacked up unfunded spending on disaster relief; the next year, he tried to purge conservatives from leadership positions in the House; in 2013, he ran away from Senator Ted Cruz&#8217;s (R-TX) short-lived government shutdown, and later called Cruz &#8220;Lucifer in the flesh&#8221;; he signed off on a $1 trillion deal later that year that raised spending $63 billion without offsetting cuts; in 2014, he did little to defund Obama&#8217;s executive amnesty, instead pushing through a cromnibus bill that avoided the issue; that came shortly after he tried to ram through an immigration reform bill that would have provided a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.
When conservatives kicked against Boehner&#8217;s leadership, he railed against them in a way he never railed against the Left. And so now, despite the fact that Boehner spoke warmly of President Trump during the primaries, the media are turning to him as some sort of voice of reason inside the Republican Party.
Why? Because he&#8217;s happy to tear them a new one from outside.
Boehner&#8217;s interview with Politico begins with him calling Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) &#8220;a**holes,&#8221; and stating, &#8220;F*** Jordan. F*** Chaffetz.&#8221; Jordan particularly earns Boehner&#8217;s ire: &#8220;Jordan was a terrorist as a legislator going back to his days in the Ohio House and Senate&#8230;A terrorist. A legislative terrorist.&#8221;
Yes, it&#8217;s a wonder that Republicans in the House didn&#8217;t like Boehner.
It doesn&#8217;t stop there.
While Boehner points to cursing out former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) in 2013, the two of them are going to co-chair a think tank at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. He craps all over his former colleague and friend, Eric Cantor, who was ousted in a shock election in 2014: &#8220;That was the worst campaign ever run&#8230;I never saw anything like it.&#8221; On Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC): &#8220;He&#8217;s an idiot. I can&#8217;t tell you what makes him tick.&#8221; On the Republican Party leadership: &#8220;There is nobody.&#8221;
Boehner defends Obama&#8217;s tenure, too:

And you go back to Obama&#8217;s campaign in 2008, you know, he was talking about the divide and healing the country and all of that. And some would argue on the right that he did more to divide the country than to unite it. I kind of reject that notion&#8230; It was modern-day media, and social media, that kept pushing people further right and further left. People started to figure out &#8230; they could choose where to get their news. And so what do people do? They choose places they agree with, reinforcing the divide&#8230;I always liked Rush [Limbaugh]. When I went to Palm Beach I would always meet with Rush and we&#8217;d go play golf. But you know, who was that right-wing guy, [Mark] Levin? He went really crazy right and got a big audience, and he dragged [Sean] Hannity to the dark side. He dragged Rush to the dark side. And these guys&#8212;I used to talk to them all the time. And suddenly they&#8217;re beating the living shit out of me&#8230; I wasn&#8217;t going to be a right-wing idiot.

No wonder the media suddenly love John Boehner, the man they used to despise (both Joe Biden and Obama praised Boehner). He&#8217;s giving them precisely what they want. And in doing so, he&#8217;s showing just why so many members of the Republican base disowned both him and the establishment they believed he represented.

GOOD RIDDANCE: Boehner UNLEASHES On Mark Levin, House Conservatives, Defends Obama

Unsatisfied with <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/09/29/john-boehner-and-failure-to-live-up-to-conservative-principles.html">throwing cold water</a> on true conservative principles <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/news/tea-party-group-mobilizes-to-oust-house-speaker-john-boehner/">during his stint</a> as Speaker of the House, former House speaker John A. Boehner told a business gathering on July 21 that Republicans are &#8220;not going to repeal and replace Obamacare&#8221; because &#8220;the American people have gotten accustomed to it.&#8221;
<a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/boehner-predicts-republicans-will-never-repeal-and-replace-obamacare/2017/07/24/e4190718-70d9-11e7-8f39-eeb7d3a2d304_story.html?utm_term=.0f764dca69f5">The Washington Post</a>, which obtained a video of Boehner&#8217;s remarks, said he argued, &#8220;Here we are, seven months into this year, and yet they&#8217;ve not passed this bill. Now, they&#8217;re never &#8212; they&#8217;re not going to repeal and replace Obamacare. It&#8217;s been around too long. And the American people have gotten accustomed to it. Governors have gotten accustomed to this Medicaid expansion, and so trying to pull it back is really not going to work.&#8221;
Boehner added more bad news, &#8220;When it&#8217;s all said and done, you&#8217;re not going to have an employer mandate anymore, you&#8217;re not going to have the individual mandate. The Medicaid expansion will be there. The governors will have more control over their Medicaid populations and how to get them care, and a lot of Obamacare taxes will probably go.&#8221;
Boehner was appearing at ThoughtSpot, a trade show hosted by Good Neighbor Pharmacy at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
Boehner expressed disappointment at how President Trump has handled his job, encouraging him to &#8220;quit tweeting&#8221; and avoid public arguments with TV personalities. He said, &#8220;He keeps getting in his own way. &#8230; I mean, going after Mika Brzezinski or Joe Scarborough? What the hell is the point?&#8221; He warned, &#8220;You never get into a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel. He does it every day. Never get into a p&#8212;ing match with a skunk. He does it every day. &#8230; It may have worked during the campaign. But I think he would do himself well if he would just slow the tweeting down and just focus on what he&#8217;s doing and not being critical.&#8221;
Boehner recounted how he would &#8220;sneak into&#8221; the White House to speak with former president Barack Obama so reporters wouldn&#8217;t see him. He asserted:

Boehner’s Back: ‘Repeal And Replace’ Is A Fantasy

We all say we want bad politicians to go away and be replaced. But even if they lose an election or resign, they seemingly always stay in some capacity and rear their heads from time to time, much to everyone&#8217;s chagrin.
Most of us predicted this would be the case with former House Speaker John Boehner. Ever since being de facto forced out of Congress in 2015 for being an absolute failure for the Republican party&#8217;s agenda and being so unpopular with constituents, he has popped up occasionally, even advising President Donald Trump to sign a budget that betrayed virtually all of Trump&#8217;s promises and funds none of his agenda. As reported by <a href="https://www.conservativereview.com/articles/did-spending-deal-suck-because-trump-listened-to-john-boehner">Conservative Review</a>, Trump did not want to sign the bill, but Boehner and Trump&#8217;s Chief of Staff Reince Priebus persuaded him to do so to avoid a government shutdown.
But on Friday, Boehner had the nerve to call Trump&#8217;s term in office so far &#8220;a complete disaster.&#8221;
As reported by <a href="http://www.theblaze.com/news/2017/05/26/john-boehner-on-trump-everything-else-hes-done-has-been-a-complete-disaster/">TheBlaze</a>, Boehner made his comments during a question and answer session after his keynote speech at a global energy conference. &#8220;[Aside from foreign policy,] everything else he&#8217;s done [in office] has been a complete disaster,&#8221; Boehner was reported as saying. &#8220;He&#8217;s still learning how to be president.&#8221; Boehner also added how he disagreed with Trump&#8217;s approach to repealing Obamacare, and how he didn&#8217;t see tax reform happening.
Little does he realize that it can easily be argued that Trump would not be President if Boehner had kept his own promises.
In 2010, after Republicans won back the House of Representatives, Boehner <a href="http://www.nbcnews.com/id/40007802/ns/politics-decision_2010/t/gop-leaders-top-goal-make-obama--term-president/">promised</a> to cut spending and create jobs. But it was clear early on that Boehner had no intention of keeping his word. He openly enabled former President Obama&#8217;s leftist agenda and spending priorities, while not even caring to hide his hatred for conservatives in his own party.
This continued even after Boehner left Congress. During the Republican primary elections, he referred to Senator Ted Cruz, arguably the most conservative candidate for president, as &#8220;Lucifer in the flesh.&#8221; Boehner also celebrated when Congressman Tim Huelskamp of Kansas, a staunch conservative, was defeated in a primary challenge by a Republican establishment candidate.
It is pretty obvious that the lack of leadership from Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to stop Obama&#8217;s leftist agenda helped to rile up the country&#8217;s traditional conservative population, who felt deceived and betrayed. As a result, they ultimately elected Trump as the party&#8217;s nominee.
The American people were betrayed by Boehner and others in Republican leadership for much of the last eight years. Maybe if his tenure hadn&#8217;t been a &#8220;complete disaster,&#8221; the country would be much better off, no matter who was president today.
