The head of the Southern Poverty Law Center played a masterclass in evasion on Capitol Hill Tuesday, refusing to answer basic yes-or-no questions from House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) about explosive allegations that the Left-wing nonprofit used donor cash to secretly bankroll extremist activities across America.
Bryan Fair, the SPLC&#8217;s interim president and CEO, hid behind his lawyers at nearly every turn — repeatedly deflecting to &#8220;counsel in the Middle District of Alabama&#8221; — as Jordan methodically walked through the superseding federal indictment against the organization.
According to the indictment, the SPLC used donor money to pay confidential &#8220;field sources&#8221; to infiltrate extremist groups — but the scheme allegedly went far beyond mere surveillance. Jordan pressed Fair on charges that the group&#8217;s operatives actually hosted extremist rallies, grew existing chapters of hate groups, recruited new members into those organizations, and even purchased materials for cross burnings. Fair&#8217;s response to nearly every charge was a variation of &#8220;our counsel will respond to all the allegations.&#8221;
&#8220;It seems to me if the answer is no, you could just say no,&#8221; a visibly frustrated Jordan told Fair, who acknowledged only that &#8220;we&#8217;ve alleged that those allegations are false.&#8221;

The indictment also names a web of alleged shell companies — Fox Photography, North West Technologies, Tech Writers Group, Rare Books Warehouse, Imagery Ink, J&amp;J Electronics, Center Investigative Agency, and Kelly&#8217;s Marine — which Jordan suggested were used to launder payments to field sources and keep the paper trail obscured. Fair claimed knowledge of the companies came only through attorney-client privileged conversations, and refused to say whether they were fronts.
The reported total price tag for the alleged program? A staggering $4 million funneled to field sources, according to the indictment.
Then came the gut-punch moment. Jordan asked whether the SPLC&#8217;s fundraising spiked after the deadly 2017 Charlottesville rally — where, the indictment alleges, one of its own paid field sources helped coordinate transportation for participants. Fair acknowledged donations surged, but credited President Donald Trump&#8217;s 2016 election rather than Charlottesville. Jordan pointed out the group&#8217;s haul jumped from $51 million to $133 million in a single year.
Fair finally offered one voluntary admission: the SPLC ran the program &#8220;to protect our staff and to protect the public.&#8221; The group has since announced it is shutting down the field source program.
Jordan&#8217;s parting shot — asking Fair if he knew the president of the National Socialist Party — was met with the now-familiar refrain: &#8220;That&#8217;s an allegation in the indictment that will be responded to by counsel.&#8221;

Republican lawmakers will consider legislation that would allow American citizens to sue foreign entities that censor and violate their First Amendment rights.
House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) said Thursday that lawmakers were looking into proposals that would protect Americans from foreign censorship. The legislation would mirror proposals introduced in states like Wyoming that would protect Americans from being penalized for their opinions. 
“We are definitely looking at that,” Jordan responded when asked by journalist Michael Shellenberger if Congress would consider proposals similar to the Guaranteeing Rights Against Novel International Tyranny and Extortion (GRANITE) Act <a href="https://www.wyoleg.gov/Legislation/2026/HB0070">introduced</a> on February 5 in Wyoming.

Jordan added that lawmakers were trying to find a “remedy” for foreign censorship, saying that “we&#8217;re taking a good look at that and seeing if there&#8217;s something we can do” regarding the GRANITE Act. 
The GRANITE Act would create a cause of action against foreign states and international organizations that implement censorship laws that violate the free speech rights of Americans, according to a summary of the bill. It would also prevent the state from working with entities that implement foreign censorship. 
Both Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) have already suggested that the United States should take action to protect Americans from being prosecuted under foreign censorship laws. 
Jordan’s comments come after the House Judiciary Committee <a href="https://x.com/JudiciaryGOP/status/2018683758006665352">released</a> documents showing that tech companies were restricting the speech of Americans under Europe’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/for-thursday-exclusive-free-speech-advocates-challenge-eu-over-pan-european-censorship-regime">Digital Services Act</a> and other measures. 
The act empowers the European Commission to impose significant financial penalties on tech companies, which it says are not doing enough to combat so-called disinformation. In certain circumstances, American tech companies may be fined up to 6% of their global revenue if they violate specific conditions of the act.
According to the House Judiciary Committee, the European Union pressured tech companies to create guidelines on what was acceptable speech on topics from mass migration to men participating in women’s sports on the basis of their transgender identity. 
Americans&#8217; speech online has not just been censored by foreign bureaucrats, but also by the State Department.

The Justice Department under former President Joe Biden reportedly subpoenaed two years of phone records belonging to House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan as part of the wide-ranging “Arctic Frost” investigation involving former President Donald Trump and his allies.
Records show that the Justice Department demanded that Verizon turn over details on Jordan’s phone calls from January 2020 until April 2022. The requested information included details on inbound and outbound calls, texts, and voicemail messages, but not the content of the calls or texts. 
“They spied on President Trump. They spied on Senators. Now, we just learned, they spied on me. If they can do it to us, they can do it to you,” Jordan <a href="https://x.com/Jim_Jordan/status/1991699042175500436/photo/1">posted</a> on social media on Thursday night alongside images of the subpoena. 
The subpoena was first <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-doj-subpoenaed-jim-jordans-phone-records-covering-more-than-two-years">reported</a> by Fox News. Other records <a href="https://static.foxnews.com/foxnews.com/content/uploads/2025/11/gjsubpoena2022042589990_redacted-1_redacted.pdf">obtained</a> by the outlet show that a federal judge ordered that the request remain secret. Verizon produced the documents for the Justice Department, a source told Fox. 
“The Court finds reasonable grounds to believe that such disclosure will result in flight from prosecution, destruction of or tampering with evidence, intimidation of potential witnesses, and serious jeopardy to the investigation,” Judge David Baker wrote.

Baker added that Verizon’s “employees shall not disclose the existence of the Subpoena to any other person (except attorneys for PROVIDER for the purpose of receiving legal advice) for a period of one year.”
Verizon said in a statement that it was &#8220;working tirelessly&#8221; with lawmakers in Congress looking into the Arctic Frost investigation. 
&#8220;As part of our investigation, we uncovered new information regarding Chairman Jordan and shared it with him as soon as possible,&#8221; said Verizon spokesman Rich Young. &#8220;We are committed to restoring trust through transparency and will continue to work with Congress and the administration as they examine these issues and consider reforms to expand notification protections.&#8221;
The subpoena was sent before special counsel Jack Smith took over the Arctic Frost investigation, which ended with Trump being charged with trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election. The Biden administration also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bidens-justice-department-took-unprecedented-action-against-trump-bondi-reveals">turned over</a> Trump’s government-issued phone to Smith as part of the investigation and subpoenaed his personal phone records. 
In addition to Trump and Jordan, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/beyond-watergate-bidens-fbi-snooped-on-phone-records-from-gop-lawmakers-in-trump-investigation">revealed</a> last month that he had uncovered evidence that the FBI analyzed the metadata of phone calls from several Republicans in Congress, including Sens. Marsha Blackburn (TN), Cynthia Lummis (WY), Ron Johnson (WI), Tommy Tuberville (AL), Dan Sullivan (AK), Josh Hawley (MO) Bill Hagerty (TN), Lindsey Graham (SC), and Rep. Mike Kelly (PA).

Brennan&#8217;s criminal referral comes in the wake of a similar referral — followed swiftly by an indictment — for former FBI Director James Comey, who was also accused of lying to Congress.
Prior to those referrals, George Washington University law professor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/30-point-buck-out-in-the-open-jonathan-turley-reveals-whos-vulnerable-to-russiagate-prosecution" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jonathan Turley</a> argued that Brennan had the most to fear when it came to the possibility of prosecution with regard to Russiagate: &#8220;It does appear that a couple of these figures may have committed perjury. I think the most vulnerable may be Brennan, who’s like a 30-point buck now out in the open. I mean, this stuff goes directly to information that he gave to Congress. It seems to be in contradiction.&#8221;
&#8220;And so there are real questions here,” he added at the time. “I mean, people talk about, well, you can’t charge Obama. That’s very likely the case. He’s probably protected. But these individuals, whether it’s Comey or Brennan, are not protected from perjury charges if the statute of limitations has not run. They are more likely to be called again to repeat prior testimony.&#8221;

Congressman Jim Jordan on Tuesday celebrated Google&#8217;s decision to reinstate YouTube creators censored under President Joe Biden, calling the decision &#8220;a win for free expression.&#8221;
Jordan, who is the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, told The Daily Wire that Google and YouTube parent company Alphabet <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/unacceptable-and-wrong-google-admits-caving-to-censorship-pressure-from-biden-admin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admitted</a> in a Tuesday letter to the committee that the company and its subsidiaries bowed to pressure from the Biden administration to censor conservative creators speaking out about election integrity and COVID-19.
&#8220;They had kicked some people off the YouTube platform altogether — you, your channel, you&#8217;re gone. They&#8217;ve agreed to reinstate those individuals, which I think is good. They&#8217;ve said they will not use the fact-checkers, like other platforms have done — which was a big problem because fact-checkers are typically really biased against conservatives. I thought it was, again, a win for the First Amendment, a win for free expression.”
Alphabet <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/google-reinstate-banned-youtube-accounts-censored-political-speech" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pledged</a> in the letter its &#8220;commitment to free expression,&#8221; and said it &#8220;will provide an opportunity for all creators to rejoin the platform if the company terminated their channels for repeated violations of COVID-19 and elections integrity policies that are no longer in effect.&#8221;
Creators banned under this regime include Dan Bongino and Sebastian Gorka, both of whom now serve in the Trump administration.
Jordan, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, recalled just how extreme the Biden administration&#8217;s censorship efforts were.
&#8220;Never forget the Biden administration established the disinformation governance board,&#8221; Jordan said on Wednesday&#8217;s edition of Morning Wire. &#8220;I mean, the most Orwellian-sounding thing you could think of — as if a bunch of bureaucrats can tell you what you can say, what you can read, what you can tweet, what you can post! That was frightening stuff.&#8221;
Fortunately, Jordan notes, &#8220;we had an election last November and, thank goodness, things changed.&#8221;
Still, Jordan isn&#8217;t ready to give up the fight, warning that the United States could soon fall victim to European speech restrictions — something congressional Republicans are fighting to stop.
European speech laws are creating complications for the American social platforms, Jordan said. In particular, the European Union’s Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act could <a href="https://fedsoc.org/events/the-digital-services-act-and-global-free-speech" target="_blank" rel="noopener">force</a> restrictive European speech codes on Americans.
Jordan takes that risk seriously.
Earlier this month, British authorities arrested Irish comedian Graham Linehan upon his landing at London’s Heathrow Airport after a flight from the United States. At issue were a series of X posts he wrote in April, which included jokes about transgender-identifying people.
“If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act. Make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails, punch him in the balls,” one of Linehan’s posts in question <a href="https://x.com/judebrew/status/1965556461612007541" target="_blank" rel="noopener">read</a>.
Americans are generally not in danger of arrest in the United States for mocking leftist ideologies, such as transgenderism. But they are still under threat of suppression and retaliation from companies like YouTube or other influential entities, Jordan says.
“I think it&#8217;s just a matter of time before that happens to an American,” the lawmaker told The Daily Wire. “We&#8217;re particularly concerned about that relative to YouTube.”

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) used some of his time during a Wednesday hearing to grill FBI Director Kash Patel over what the FBI is no longer doing in order to be more effective and less political.
Jordan asked Patel — who spent much of his Senate hearing on Tuesday and his House hearing on Wednesday facing off with Democrats in both chambers — a series of rapid-fire questions before giving the Director a chance to answer them. Nearly every question referenced something that the FBI had been accused of doing under former President Joe Biden.

The advertising industry “cartel” that existed to censor online speech in the name of &#8220;brand safety&#8221; was directly involved in organizing the corporate boycott of Twitter after Elon Musk bought it, even working with foreign regulators to orchestrate its pressure campaign against the social media platform, a bombshell congressional investigation found.
The House Judiciary Committee released emails on Friday showing that the Global Alliance for Responsible Media, a now-defunct coalition created by the World Federation of Advertisers that used its control of the global advertising spending to bankrupt conservative publishers, was working with regulators in Europe and Australia to force Twitter, now X, to fall in line with its censorship demands.
X is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/x-rumble-sue-advertising-cartel-for-allegedly-breaking-antitrust-laws-to-force-censorship">suing</a> the World Federation of Advertisers alleging that its coalition engaged in anti-competitive activity to facilitate boycotts and force tech platforms to censor content. The Friday report provides evidence that GARM was in fact intimately involved in organizing the boycott, and that it was being carried out for explicitly political reasons.
The head of GARM, Rob Rakowitz, expressed a desire in emails to stop President Donald Trump and the “contagion” he represents.
“My main thing is I need to see Trump … effectively sidelined but I am afraid the contagion is too widespread to protect infection overall,” Rakowitz wrote in a November 2022 email to an Australian official, as he was coordinating opposition to Musk’s changes at Twitter.
The report found that Rakowitz and GARM prepared statements for its members to publicly protest changes Musk was making at Twitter.
“The bird has gone from freed to fried,” Rakowitz wrote to all its members, stating that the “platform poses real risks.” The email, which describes the situation as a “crisis,” was an attempt to convey to GARM’s members that Twitter was now “unsafe” and they needed to “cease and desist” from advertising on Twitter.
“I’ve crafted a message that needs to be posted ASAP and distributed,” Rakowitz writes. “I have navigated the situation as best as we can in terms of our anticompetitive statues [sic] and have gone as close as possible as we can to saying ‘Twitter is unsafe, cease and desist.’”
The legal concerns appear to be well-founded. Trump’s Federal Trade Commission is actively investigating whether the advertising industry violated antitrust laws by coordinating through GARM.
On Monday, two of the world’s largest advertising agencies, both founding members of GARM, announced an agreement with the FTC to cease all coordination that was taking place to direct advertising dollars away from disfavored publishers. The firms, Omnicom and IPG, are also agreeing to cooperate with the Trump administration’s investigation into the coordination that took place while GARM was still in place.

The House Judiciary Committee, led by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), had announced an <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/12/18/business/house-probes-ad-agency-mega-merger-over-ties-to-anti-conservative-cartel/">investigation into the two firms</a> for their involvement with GARM last November.
In emails previously unveiled by Jordan’s committee, Rakowitz says the goal of GARM was to “fund the voices we want to associate with, and close down the advertising ecosystem to bad actors.”
Those “bad actors” included outlets like The Daily Wire, which was put on a “Global High Risk” blacklist by the advertising coalition and flagged, without evidence, for spreading “conspiracy theories.”
His emails, revealed in the committee’s initial report last July, revealed stunning political bias by Rakowitz and other executives. Rakowitz in one email complained that the U.S. Constitution was written “by white men exclusively.”

The past emails also showed that GARM aimed to “stop all paid advertisement” to Musk’s Twitter, and “bragged about” its success. In emails it celebrated the fact that Twitter was “80% below revenue forecasts” after its effort to starve advertising dollars from it.
The new report sheds light on how that effort played out. Not only was GARM urging its members (which together controlled about 90% of global advertising) to yank advertising from the platform, but it was urging regulators in the European Union and Australia to pressure Musk’s Twitter to censor content in line with GARM’s demands.
The emails show that the European Commission was working “to push Twitter to deliver on GARM asks.” And in Australia, the head of the eSafety Commission was hailing GARM’s “significant collective power” to get GARM to bend the knee.
GARM also shared confidential metrics regarding Twitter&#8217;s compliance with its standards, as part of its effort to prompt ad boycotts. Though GARM changed its policy to make the metrics public for everyone, it was done right after Musk&#8217;s purchase and done explicitly to hurt Twitter.
We know that, because Rakowitz laid out his master plan in an email to his leadership team.
&#8220;We are doubling down on where our power is; standards and transparency and allowing advertisers to make informed 
decisions,&#8221; Rakowitz said, before noting that the transparency was done strategically. &#8220;This way it&#8217;s not singling Twitter out, but we know where eyes will be.&#8221;
After the change, all Twitter&#8217;s policy changes would be visible to its members, allowing advertising firms to say they changed their ad spend because Twitter changed its standards.
&#8220;This feels damn good,&#8221; Rakowitz wrote after laying out his plan.
All of these actions took place even as members in GARM knew its actions weren&#8217;t popular. Internal emails show awareness that the American consumers it was supposed to be advertising to valued free speech over censorship of potentially &#8220;harmful&#8221; content, but GARM executives went ahead with the effort nonetheless.
A June 2020 email showed Gallup polling was circulated to GARM executives showing that 66% of consumers prioritized freedom of speech over &#8220;risks of exposure to harmful content.&#8221;
The report highlights regret from major corporate participants that they were a part of the censorship cartel, which went &#8220;too far&#8221; in its efforts to restrict speech.
Gerry D&#8217;Angelo, a Proctor &amp; Gamble executive who helped lead GARM, says the effort undermined the &#8220;business objectives&#8221; of its clients.
&#8220;If you were to ask me and say, ‘Did we go too far in those first rounds of exclusionary restrictions?’ I would say yes,” D&#8217;Angelo said, in a quote highlighted by the report. D&#8217;Angelo adds that GARM required companies &#8220;to boycott too many websites&#8221; and that the negative consequences of brand safety &#8220;never actually materialized.&#8221;
&#8220;GARM&#8217;s collusive activity not only hurt consumers, but all GARM&#8217;s members who sacrificed opportunities because they were led to believe that these brand safety precautions were both necessary and beneficial in promoting advertisers&#8217; core business objectives,&#8221; the report states.

On Thursday, the GOP-led House Judiciary Committee announced that it received bombshell evidence that suggested Pfizer executives pushed to delay full testing for their company&#8217;s COVID vaccine until after the 2020 election.
British drugmaker GSK informed the panel that Philip Dormitzer, a former Pfizer executive who became a senior scientist at GSK, told colleagues at GSK that &#8220;in late 2020, the three most senior people in Pfizer R&amp;D were involved in a decision to deliberately slow down clinical testing so that it would not be complete prior to the results of the presidential election that year.&#8221;
The Judiciary Committee, led by Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), said that it had sought information from GSK after The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/health/pharma/pfizer-covid-vaccine-2020-election-probe-2f3ec247" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> in March that U.S. prosecutors were looking into a tip from the company that came in &#8220;soon&#8221; after President Donald Trump won a second term in 2024.
The Journal noted that Trump, who lost to Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential contest, &#8220;for years has claimed that Pfizer sat on the positive results of clinical trials, which could have reflected well on his management of the pandemic and reassured voters as they headed to the polls. There has never been evidence to support the accusation, and the development of the Covid vaccines is widely viewed as a medical miracle, coming faster than any other vaccine in history.&#8221;

As relayed by the Judiciary Committee, GSK responded to the panel&#8217;s inquiry in mid-April. In another part of the reply given to congressional investigators, GSK said Dormitzer had requested a transfer over concerns about what the new Trump administration might do to him.
&#8220;In November 2024, shortly after the election, Dr. Dormitzer approached a representative from the GSK human resources team to speak about a potential relocation abroad. As the human resources representative recalls, in their meeting, Dr. Dormitzer was visibly upset; he requested that he be relocated to Canada due to concerns that he could be investigated by the incoming Trump Administration over his role in developing Pfizer&#8217;s COVID-19 vaccine,&#8221; GSK said. &#8220;According to the human resources representative, when asked what prompted his request, Dr. Dormitzer made a comment to the effect of: &#8216;Let&#8217;s just say it wasn&#8217;t a coincidence, the timing of the vaccine.'&#8221;
The Journal reported in March that GSK and Pfizer, who are rivals in the pharmaceutical industry, have sued each other over patent rights tied to vaccines.
Dormitzer, who has since left GSK, provided a statement to the newspaper.
&#8220;My Pfizer colleagues and I did everything we could to get the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization at the very first possible moment,&#8221; Dormitzer said. &#8220;Any other interpretation of my comments about the pace of the vaccine’s development would be incorrect.&#8221;
The House panel sent a <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/republicans-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/2025-05-15-jdj-to-dormitzer-re-vaccine-delay.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> to Dormitzer requesting documents and a transcribed interview by May 29. Pfizer Chairman and CEO Albert Bourla was the recipient of another <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/republicans-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/2025-05-15-jdj-to-pfizer-re-vaccine-delay.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> that sought records by the same date.
In response to a request for comment, a Pfizer representative told The Daily Wire that the company received the letter asking about the allegations in the Wall Street Journal report and &#8220;will respond directly&#8221; to the House Judiciary Committee.
Pfizer also provided a statement that said: &#8220;The COVID-19 vaccine development process was driven by science and guided by the U.S. FDA back in 2020. We have consistently and transparently reiterated the facts and the timeline of the tireless work of scientists, regulators, and thousands of clinical trial volunteers who made the vaccine possible. Theories to the contrary are simply untrue and being manufactured.&#8221;
The Judiciary Committee emphasized that it is &#8220;unclear which Pfizer R&amp;D employees were involved with Dr. Dormitzer in the decision to delay the clinical testing,&#8221; but did note that he &#8220;represented to GSK that Pfizer&#8217;s CEO was not aware of the delay.&#8221;
A GSK spokesperson declined to comment.
Jordan (R-OH), a close ally to Trump, <a href="https://x.com/Jim_Jordan/status/1923046662139785572" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> on X in response to the information obtained by his panel: &#8220;Did Pfizer executives conspire to delay COVID-19 vaccine testing to influence the 2020 election? House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) is pushing appropriators to leverage upcoming funding legislation to put restraints on federal judges who have issued nationwide injunctions against President Donald Trump&#8217;s policies.
With a <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/republicans-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/2025-03-31-jdj-to-cole-joyce-approps%29-re-judicial-branch-appropriations.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> dated March 31, Jordan implored leaders on the Committee on Appropriations to use &#8220;Congress&#8217;s power of the purse&#8221; to crack down on what he described as the &#8220;abuse of nationwide injunctive authority&#8221; during the first 60 days of Trump&#8217;s second term and ensure &#8220;the federal judiciary can continue to operate effectively and responsibly with respect to its growing civil and criminal dockets.&#8221;
Federal judges have issued more than a dozen injunctions during the first couple months of the new Trump administration, including orders hindering the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) effort and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/congressman-introduces-articles-of-impeachment-against-judge-blocking-trump-deportations?topStoryPosition=undefined" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blocking</a> the invocation of the Alien Enemies Act to deport alleged Venezuelan gang members, as legal battles focused on federal government actions play out in court.
Jordan offered a number of &#8220;steps&#8221; that he argued &#8220;would reinforce the proper limits of judicial power and ensure that taxpayer resources support a judiciary that respects its constitutional role.&#8221;
He said: &#8220;In particular, we urge you to consider language prohibiting the use of taxpayer dollars and federal resources to issue or enforce these overbroad injunctions beyond the specific parties in front of an issuing court in a particular case. Additionally, we ask that you consider including language to limit appropriated funds related to the issuance and enforcement of nationwide injunctions, including using court resources to compel compliance, impose fines, or conduct contempt proceedings related to such injunctions.&#8221;
Jordan also noted that his committee has &#8220;developed legislative reforms within our jurisdiction to address this misuse of judicial authority and to restore balance between the branches of the federal government.&#8221;
While some Republicans are rallying for impeaching judges or <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/proposal-remove-judge-blocked-trump-deportation-flights-without-impeachment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">otherwise</a> trying to remove them, the House is expected to vote this week on the &#8220;<a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/1526/text">No Rogue Rulings Act of 2025</a>,&#8221; legislation that seeks to amend U.S. Code to prevent district courts from issuing injunctions unless the order applies only to the parties of the particular case at hand.

The House Judiciary Committee held on Tuesday a hearing titled &#8220;Judicial Overreach and Constitutional Limits on the Federal Courts&#8221; in which former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) delivered an opening statement that <a href="https://x.com/DailySignal/status/1907115746355765452" target="_blank" rel="noopener">warned</a>: &#8220;There is clearly a potential constitutional crisis involving the judicial branch&#8217;s effort to fully override the legislative and executive branches.&#8221;

Democrats lack majorities in Congress, but they have <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/jamie-raskin-face-the-nation-transcript-02-16-2025/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">celebrated</a> the judge&#8217;s orders as being a saving grace for their side. During a recent &#8220;Face the Nation&#8221; interview on CBS, House Judiciary Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/jamie-raskin-face-the-nation-transcript-02-16-2025/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">touted</a> the injunctions and said, &#8220;we&#8217;re winning across the board.&#8221;
House Republicans have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/impeachathon-ensnares-growing-number-of-get-trump-judges" target="_blank" rel="noopener">unveiled</a> articles of impeachment against several judges they feel are ruling against the Trump administration out of political animus. Trump himself <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114183576937425149" target="_blank" rel="noopener">voiced</a> support for impeaching these judges. Last week, Jordan <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jordan-hearings-judges-injunctions-against-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> he would not rule out proceeding with impeachment, however he and other House GOP leaders have not made any commitments.
Jordan also said on Monday there will be hearings focused on federal judges issuing the injunctions. Zeroing in on James Boasberg, an Obama-appointed judge who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/congressman-introduces-articles-of-impeachment-against-judge-blocking-trump-deportations?topStoryPosition=undefined" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blocked</a> Trump’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act to deport alleged members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, the chairman declared that &#8220;it starts to look like this is getting totally political&#8221; when his past involvement in the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/meet-the-obama-appointed-judge-trying-to-stop-trump-from-deporting-criminal-illegals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Russiagate</a> scandal is also taken into consideration.
On another Fox News <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uVJCRXMGvQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">program</a>, &#8220;Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy,&#8221; Johnson called out &#8220;activist judges&#8221; issuing injunctions against the Trump administration. &#8220;I&#8217;m looking forward to working with our good friend Chairman Jim Jordan in the House Judiciary Committee to sort through this and find out what the remedies are to figure out how we can bring correction here because I think it&#8217;s important for our system of justice,&#8221; he added.
There is movement in the Senate to take legislative action, too, with Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) <a href="https://x.com/HawleyMO/status/1904223820237439247" target="_blank" rel="noopener">vowing</a> to unveil a bill of his own &#8220;to STOP liberal judges’ serial abuse of their power by BANNING nationwide injunctions.&#8221;

The House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on the slew of federal judges who have issued rulings that halted elements of President Donald Trump&#8217;s second-term agenda, Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) said on Wednesday.
Jordan made the announcement during an interview with CNN&#8217;s Kasie Hunt after James Boasberg, an Obama-appointed judge, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/congressman-introduces-articles-of-impeachment-against-judge-blocking-trump-deportations?topStoryPosition=undefined" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blocked</a> Trump’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act to deport violent criminal illegal migrants.
&#8220;We&#8217;re going to hold hearings on this entire issue, the 15 injunctions that have been done in an eight-week timeframe. Judge Boasberg&#8217;s decision &#8230; hearing from experts, talking about this whole kind of body of law, this whole situation,&#8221; he said.
Over the past few weeks, some House Republicans have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/impeachathon-ensnares-growing-number-of-get-trump-judges" target="_blank" rel="noopener">unveiled</a> articles of impeachment against Boasberg and other judges they feel are delivering rulings that are unfavorable to the Trump administration out of political animus.
Trump himself took aim at Boasberg in a <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114183576937425149" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post</a> on Truth Social on Tuesday, calling him a “troublemaker and agitator” who “like many of the Crooked Judges’ I am forced to appear before, should be IMPEACHED!!!”
Jordan would not go as far as to reveal whether he would hold impeachment hearings, but the chairman did say, &#8220;We&#8217;re not ruling out anything.&#8221; He also stressed that &#8220;it&#8217;s important for us to gather information — get input on this issue.&#8221;
The House and Senate are currently led by Republicans, though by slim margins. While a simple majority to impeach could be achieved along party lines in the House, a bipartisan group of 67 senators would be needed for removal.
On Tuesday, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chief-justice-john-roberts-speaks-out-against-trump-backed-push-to-impeach-judges" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a rare statement pushing back on the GOP impeachment push and declaring the &#8220;normal appellate review process exists&#8221; for the purpose of fighting a judicial decision.
While Jordan acknowledged that he expects the White House to proceed with the appellate process, he emphasized that Boasberg&#8217;s history with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/meet-the-obama-appointed-judge-trying-to-stop-trump-from-deporting-criminal-illegals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Russiagate</a> and &#8220;the pace&#8221; of the injunctions has become a &#8220;concern&#8221; for Republicans.
Jordan also touted a bill the Judiciary Committee recently <a href="https://issa.house.gov/media/press-releases/issa-legislation-stop-rogue-federal-judges-passes-house-judiciary-committee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">advanced</a> that seeks to restrain the number of injunctions being levied by federal judges and said there may be &#8220;another legislative remedy&#8221; that lawmakers may want to examine, too.

Jordan Plans Hearings On Flood Of Judges’ Injunctions Against Trump Agenda

Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jim-jordan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jim Jordan</a> (R-OH), the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, defended Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency&#8217;s efforts to scrap &#8220;stupid&#8221; government spending.
Jordan made the remarks in an interview with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/podcasts/morning-wire" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Morning Wire</a> as the Left ramps up its attacks on President Donald Trump and Musk&#8217;s influence on the Trump administration. After Trump put Musk to work last month, DOGE found government waste totaling billions of dollars. In his interview with Morning Wire, Jordan slammed Democrats for raging against Musk&#8217;s &#8220;common sense&#8221; actions.
&#8220;I think the American people view it this way: they&#8217;re saying like, &#8216;Wow, we were spending our tax money on these stupid things?&#8217; And of course, the Left, instead of attacking the stupid things and stopping the stupid things that, you know, taxpayer money is being spent on, they attack the guy who&#8217;s exposing it,&#8221; Jordan told Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief John Bickley.
&#8220;I think the country, deep down, appreciates [that] President Trump said he was going to do this,&#8221; the Republican added.

Jordan said the Left was busy defending &#8220;career bureaucrats&#8221; after &#8220;77 million people said, we want President Trump making these decisions.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s not the career experts — the Dr. Faucis of the world — who run the country. It&#8217;s the people who put their names on a ballot and get elected. They make the decisions,&#8221; Jordan added.
Last week, Democratic leaders <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/feb/04/democrats-protest-elon-musk-treasury-washington" target="_blank" rel="noopener">joined protesters</a> in Washington, D.C., to denounce what they described as Musk&#8217;s &#8220;hostile takeover&#8221; of government financial systems. Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) told the crowd, “Every American’s information is at risk. What does Elon Musk do with everything he touches? He makes money!”
A federal judge in New York temporarily blocked DOGE from accessing Treasury Department data after 19 state attorneys general sued to stop DOGE&#8217;s access to sensitive data. Despite the challenge to DOGE&#8217;s work, Republicans remain supportive of Musk taking a flamethrower to government spending.
“It’s a very aggressive agenda that was promised to the voters. Remember, [Trump is] delivering on campaign promises right now,” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/doge-finds-shocking-government-expenditures-not-approved-by-congress-mike-johnson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on Monday. “We are going to be codifying a lot of these changes, and what they’ve uncovered is, frankly, shocking. There are a lot of expenditures of the federal government that Congress has not been aware of, in spite of our best efforts to do oversight, some of this has been hidden.”
Jordan added that Trump &#8220;has said he&#8217;s going to use Elon Musk and his team, and God bless them for what they&#8217;re exposing and showing. And the platform they have to really get that out there for the American people to see and understand, I think it&#8217;s a good thing.&#8221;
