My trivia team, Post Trebek Stress Disorder, just won the first-ever &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; Bar Trivia League. It might seem like a team made up entirely of former &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; contestants (whose deep bench includes several three-time &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; winners, some of whom didn’t come out to play during the course of the Bar Trivia League) would automatically be the front-runner in a bar trivia contest. But we weren’t. It felt like we were underdogs the entire time, and we had to overcome several tremendous obstacles to win the whole thing. At least in our minds, we were the Little Trivia Team That Could.
I started PTSD in 2013 after I won three games of &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; and couldn’t let go of the afterglow. One other guy, Jared Hall, who lived in Austin and had recently won six games, was my co-founder. The rule quickly became that in order to play on our team, you had to have at least appeared on &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; once. So whenever someone from Austin showed up on my TV, I found them on social media and asked them to join. Not everyone said yes, but those who did soon found themselves belonging to what a 2017 Texas Monthly article called <a href="https://www.texasmonthly.com/the-daily-post/best-little-trivia-team-texas/">“The Best Little Trivia Team In Texas.”</a>
But in recent years, PTSD had faded. The desire to answer questions while drinking cider still burned in me, but other teammates had moved out of town, lost interest, had families, or, in a couple of extremely sad cases, passed away. Then in the summer of 2024, my teammates Kate, Cecily, and I got the call to appear on &#8220;Pop Culture Jeopardy!,&#8221; a new &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; variant that was airing on Amazon Prime (though is now on Netflix, where people actually watch it). Our team lost, but it turns out that Jessica, one of the women who barely beat us, also lives in Austin and, in fact, had been one of my prospective PTSD recruits after she won three games. But her episodes aired in March of 2020, a time when everyone kind of lost track of reality for a couple of years. 
Jessica was such a good trivia player that I said to myself, “I’m never playing against her again.” Instead of avoiding her entirely, which wasn’t an option, I re-upped my invitation to play with us. She was down, which was very fortunate because she proved to be the secret sauce that would bring my wavering trivia team back to life. She was not only the perfect teammate but also a co-captain and partner with whom I could trust my trivia team’s legacy. When &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; announced the Bar Trivia League, she was, as always, into it. 
And so Jess and I set forth to slay the trivia dragon. It wasn’t always just the two of us, though sometimes it was. Occasionally, guest stars would join. Her husband came out one night, and my wife came out another night, to enjoy the drinks and encourage us as we engaged in our dorky mental athletics. For two games, the most important two of the season, I stacked the box with a full team of six former &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; contestants, and it’s a good thing I did — because we needed to get every one of those answers right. 
Our first week, we played conservatively, probably too conservatively, but it’s a good thing we did because the Final Jeopardy! question was a stumper about an obscure cable company (Optimum), and if we’d bet too aggressively, our league would have been over before it started. After that, the strategy became clear. Though you receive five points for a league win, teams were playing all over the country, and not directly against us on any given night, so total points earned serve as the tiebreaker. You need to bet all your points every time a Daily Double hits. 
Unlike in regular &#8220;Jeopardy!,&#8221; in the bar league every team gets a chance to answer every question, so you see scores in the hundreds of thousands that would never be possible in a regular &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; game. For the next four weeks, we scored more than 300,000 points a game, except for one off week where we scored 252,000 points. One week, we scored more than 388,000 points. But this strategy also has its risky side; if we missed a big Daily Double question, we’d zero out our scoreboard. Like a slugger swinging for the fences on every pitch, there was a chance for a big whiff that would cost us the title. 
By week two, there were already only 31 undefeated teams left in the country. That number cut in half the next week. After week five, there were eight, and we were one of them. However, there was another team in Austin, also comprised of several former &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; contestants, that remained undefeated. I had a bitter personal conflict with them, as I chronicled in <a href="https://spectator.com/article/wokeness-ended-my-backroom-jeopardy-habit/">an article</a> at my previous employer. Jess, who’s friends with everybody, continued to hang out with them. But at their regular Wednesday night trivia gig, they basically avoided her and spoke around her in whispers. 
The other team had found a loophole. You can only play JBL under your official team name one night a week. But since the games change every day, you can play multiple times a week under a pseudonym. This occurred to me early on, and I proposed to Jess that we occasionally invoke the Assassin’s Creed and try to do that to take out rivals. But she said that would be unsportsmanlike and uncool. So I allowed my co-captain to guide my conscience like Jiminy Cricket. 
Our rivals, desperate for victory, had no such compunction. On that Thursday night at the Via 313 pizzeria near the University of Texas, they snuck in right before the game started at 7. They might as well have thrown down the glove. They’d come to take us out. 
Unluckily for them, a new ringer had appeared on our team, a guy named Caleb who just two weeks earlier had fought &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; super-champion Jamie Ding to the death and had lost. Fortunately for us, Caleb is engaged to a guy who’s a big professional wrestling fan, so he knew a WWE answer, “ladder match,” that our enemy team didn’t. And then, in Final Jeopardy!, we got the right answer (Ian Fleming), while they didn’t (John le Carré). When the host announced their wrong answer, our entire team laughed involuntarily, and our enemies slunk out of there ashamed. Demoralized, they lost their next game under their official team name and emailed Jess, wishing us good luck. One more obstacle removed. 
By this point, we were down to six undefeated teams left in the country. PTSD stood well ahead of most of them, in second place. But there was a team in Flossmoor, Illinois, called “Bucket of Kneecaps,” that was a couple hundred thousand points ahead of us. We decided to play conservatively since catching them was basically impossible if they won out. Even if we didn’t win the national title, we could still win the Central South region, which would at least come with a thousand-dollar prize. 
After an uninspiring week seven win, it seemed like second place was our destiny. But then I woke up on Wednesday morning of the last week of play to find out that Bucket of Kneecaps had lost. What I didn’t know then, but know now, is that a player from Washington, D.C., also a former &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; contestant, had traveled to Chicago specifically to take them out. Apparently, his team had finished second after a drunkenly bad Daily Double bet in week one, removing their chances at a national title. But he was determined to challenge whoever was left in the final week, because he wanted the league to have, as he later told me, a “worthy champion.” 
This is apparently an extremely well-connected man because he put together two teams to challenge Bucket of Kneecaps at that bar in suburban Chicago. And he won. It turns out that Bucket of Kneecaps was just one man, apparently quite friendly with the trivia host and bar ownership. Let’s just say they all exchanged angry words after the game. 
It won’t surprise you that this trivia ronin showed up at Via 313 in Austin the very next night, to test PTSD, which was now playing for the national title. And he gave us hell. We were in third place after round one. Early on in Double Jeopardy!, one of our teammates, who’d been sitting quietly for weeks, pulled an answer about a question involving a pasta shape named after an Italian word for cake (tortellini). No one else in the bar got it right, and suddenly we were in first place. 
At the end of the round, we remained in first, tied for points with another team that showed up every week to try and beat us. But we were ahead of them because Jess had been speed-typing our answers on her laptop all night. The final category was NOVELS, which I felt good about, and the final question involved a 24-hour live reading of a novel in New Bedford, Massachusetts. It was obvious pretty quickly that the answer was Moby Dick, and that was ballgame. We’d won the &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; Bar Trivia League. 
As a prize, we get $1,000 for winning our region, plus a pizza party at the venue paid for by &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; In addition, everyone who played 50% of the games or more gets an all-expense-paid trip to LA, including airfare, hotel, a tour of the &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; studio, attendance at a &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; taping, and a meeting with &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; host Ken Jennings and &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; producers. The initial prize involved a &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; audition, but obviously, we don’t qualify for that. Three of us, Jess, Kate, and I, will gladly accept the prize and will head to LA whenever the call comes.
This may seem like an ironic reward for a team comprised of former &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; contestants, but I have a plan. When I appeared on &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; in the Paleolithic year of 2013, it was a very different show. Once your run was done, you didn’t get to appear again unless you’d qualified for the Tournament of Champions. But the rules have changed, and there are many different levels of tournaments now. People who’ve won three games come back all the time. Contestants who won zero games get second chances, and in a few cases have advanced deep into tournaments and won hundreds of thousands of dollars. So, you know, why not us?
There was no other chance on earth &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; would invite me, a guy who’d been on the show a decade and a half ago and had performed well but not exceptionally, back for another bite of the apple. For Jessica, who also appeared before the super-tournament era, the situation was the same. And Kate had never won at all, not finishing up her Final Jeopardy! answer in time despite the fact that she knew it, a fact that has haunted her for nearly a decade. I want redemption for myself and for two of my best friends in the world. The only way any of us were going to even have a prayer to get back on &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; was to claw our way up (with integrity and friendship) out of the bar-trivia pits, like Bruce Wayne in &#8220;The Dark Knight Rises.&#8221; And we did it.

Former “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jeopardy">Jeopardy!</a>” producer Mike Richards, who reportedly hosted the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/television">show</a> for one day before being fired, is speaking publicly about the experience for the first time.
The 48-year-old game show producer was chosen as the replacement for longtime host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/alex-trebek">Alex Trebek </a>following his death from cancer in 2020. Richards was named the new host in August 2021, but his tenure was short-lived following a media firestorm related to his controversial comments that resurfaced online. 
“Jeopardy!” execs didn’t replace Trebek right away, opting instead to try out guest hosts for several months before landing on a replacement. &#8220;I actually thought we should just name a new host,&#8221; Richards told <a href="https://people.com/jeopardy-producer-mike-richards-opens-up-being-fired-after-1-day-exclusive-8611125">People</a> of that decision. &#8220;But when Alex passed away, it was hard on everyone.”
The producer reflected on some of those guest hosts, including Katie Couric, Mayim Bialik, Robin Roberts, and Aaron Rodgers.
He recalls being surprised to land the job. &#8220;No one was more surprised than me,&#8221; he told the outlet. &#8220;They told me, &#8216;We&#8217;d like you to be the host of the syndicated version of Jeopardy!&#8217; I paused, and said, &#8216;Oh wow. Thank you. What&#8217;s the media plan?&#8217; Because I was very concerned that this was going to be scrutinized as closely as a Presidential election. There was widespread belief that whoever got the job first wouldn&#8217;t make it.&#8221;
Richards said those assumptions were correct, and fans weren’t pleased with the choice. &#8220;Everyone was so angry because it looked like I had gone into a room and picked myself,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And that&#8217;s not what happens in television, but I understood that that&#8217;s what the outward appearances were.&#8221;
The game show producer recalled hosting for just one day. An article published on Ringer.com highlighted some controversial comments in 2013 and 2014 while hosting the podcast “Randumb,” as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-jeopardy-host-mike-richards-apologizes-for-sexist-racist-comments">reported</a>. During that time, he referred to his female co-host as a “booth ho,” “boothstitute,” and “booth slut” and said women in one-piece bathing suits look “really frumpy and overweight.”
He also made remarks about another woman’s appearance, saying of her facial features, “Ixnay on the ose-nay. She’s not an ew-Jay.”
Richards made a public apology for the statements after the article was published. &#8220;It is humbling to confront a terribly embarrassing moment of misjudgment, thoughtlessness, and insensitivity from nearly a decade ago. Looking back now, there is no excuse, of course, for the comments I made on this podcast and I am deeply sorry,” he said at the time.
Besides the statements, outlets began reporting that Richards was involved in a wrongful termination and discrimination lawsuit while working at “The Price is Right.” 
&#8220;I told them, I&#8217;ll answer anything. I&#8217;m an open book, proud of what I&#8217;ve done. I&#8217;m proud of my track record as a boss,&#8221; he told People of all the negative press. &#8220;It was insinuated that I had been personally sued for sexual harassment. I never had, but that didn&#8217;t matter.&#8221; Richards’ name was later dropped from the lawsuit, but after so much drama and coupled with the division over pandemic-related issues, he started getting a lot of hate online.
&#8220;By then everyone was like, &#8216;Oh he&#8217;s just a horrible person,’” Richards said. “It was the price you pay for getting thrust into the zeitgeist in a very inopportune moment.&#8221;

It led to Richards publicly resigning after his very short hosting stint (some outlets still say he was fired). Eventually, popular contestant Ken Jennings became the permanent host, which Richards said was a good move.
&#8220;Why I am talking now is that I feel like I can be a force for good as far as having open, honest conversations,&#8221; he told People. &#8220;We can all disagree about a lot of things. We can disagree about politics, we can disagree about who hosts Jeopardy!. We can disagree about liking a final Jeopardy! clue. And we should. But I felt like there was a this rush to judgment, and a lot of people got joy in saying, &#8216;I got you.'&#8221;
&#8220;I always thought Ken [Jennings] was the guy,” he added.

Incumbent champion Luigi de Guzman was competing against contestant and retired lawyer Harriet Wagner. When Guzman was asked to identify a “19th-century landscape by this British painter,” he responded, “Constant.”
Jennings prompted, “Say it again” and de Guzman immediately corrected himself. “I’m sorry. Constable. Who is Constable.”
“Constable is correct, yes. That takes you to $6,200,” Jennings responded.

“Who is Angela Le Guin,” Wagner answered, prompting Jennings to react, “No,” before Wagner immediately corrected herself: “Ursula Le Guin.”
After de Guzman then gave the correct answer, Jennings turned to Wagner, explaining, “Yes, Harriet, you remembered that her name was Ursula but I had already begun ruling against you when you corrected yourself.”

In November 2022, contestant Amy Schneider, a biological man who identifies as a woman, won the $250,000 prize on “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jeopardy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jeopardy!: Tournament of Champions</a>.”
“I feel amazing,” Schneider said after winning. “Earlier in the finals, I had this sudden moment of seeing myself and being like, ‘I’m on stage in the Tournament of Champions finals,’ and that was crazy. And I won! It’s a great feeling.”
The “Jeopardy!: Tournament of Champions” began at the end of October 2022. It featured 21 contestants who won at least four games since the 2020 tournament along with winners of the National College Championship, the Professors Tournament, and the game show&#8217;s first Second Chance faceoff, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/amy-schneider-wins-jeopardy-tournament-champions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Larissa Kelly, the woman who held the record for the most Jeopardy wins, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trans-jeopardy-contestant-amy-schneider-ends-winning-streak-on-this-question" target="_blank" rel="noopener">congratulated</a> Schneider after Schneider passed that number, referring to Schneider as a woman. She tweeted, “Well, it was fun to hold a Jeopardy record for a few years … but it’s been even more fun to watch @Jeopardamy set new standards for excellence, on the show and off. Congratulations to Amy on becoming the woman with the highest overall earnings in the show’s history!”
Schneider responded to critics by tweeting, “I’d like to thank all the people who have taken the time, during this busy holiday season, to reach out and explain to me that, actually, I’m a man. Every single one of you is the first person ever to make that very clever point, which had never once before crossed my mind.”

“<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jeopardy">Jeopardy</a>!” host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ken-jennings">Ken Jennings</a> commented on his co-worker Mayim Bialik being unexpectedly relieved of her <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">hosting</a> duties.
“It took me off guard, because I loved working with my Mayim and I’m going to miss her,” Jennings <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/jeopardy-host-ken-jennings-mayim-bialik-exit-celebrity-jeopardy-semifinals-1235766161/">said</a> in an interview with <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/jeopardy-host-ken-jennings-mayim-bialik-exit-celebrity-jeopardy-semifinals-1235766161/">The Hollywood Reporter</a>. “I can’t speak to her decision-making process or her opinions about it. But on my end, I’m just a fan of ‘Jeopardy!’ and I’m always delighted to host when they call upon me. I just feel extremely lucky to have even been considered for this job as a non-broadcaster.”
The passing of longtime host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/alex-trebek">Alex Trebek</a> in 2020 led to a frantic scramble to replace the “Jeopardy!” mainstay, with numerous options being floated. Finally, the game show’s execs settled on a combination of Bialik, an actress best known for her roles in “Blossom” and “The Big Bang Theory,” and Jennings, a former contestant who rose to fame after winning $4.5 million on the show. He became a household name in 2004 after winning 74 times in a row.
Bialik and Jennings have been sharing hosting duties since 2021. But on December 15, Sony announced their decision to go forward with just one host.
“Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of ‘Jeopardy!’” the 48-year-old actress wrote social media. “I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a primetime Emmy for hosting this year and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the ‘Jeopardy!’ family.”
Bialik continued, “For all of you who have supported me through this incredible journey and to the fans, contestants, writers, staff and crew of America’s favorite quiz show, thank you.”

A statement from Sony thanked Bialik for her contributions to “Jeopardy!”
“We made the decision to have one host for the syndicated show next season to maintain continuity for our viewers, and Ken Jennings will be the sole host for syndicated ‘Jeopardy!’” the statement <a href="https://tvline.com/news/jeopardy-mayim-bialik-fired-host-explained-reason-statement-1235099862/">read</a>. “We are truly grateful for all of Mayim’s contributions to ‘Jeopardy!’”
Bialik had previously stepped back from her hosting duties amid the recent writer and actor’s strike. In a post on <a href="https://twitter.com/missmayim" target="_blank" rel="noopener">X</a>, the 48-year-old actress/TV host wrote to her hundreds of thousands of followers that the producers of the popular game show, Sony Pictures Television, informed her that they&#8217;ve decided to go with just one host — despite her sharing the job with the game show&#8217;s top winner Ken Jennings, following Alex Trebek&#8217;s death.

&#8220;We are truly grateful for all of Mayim&#8217;s contributions to &#8216;Jeopardy!,&#8217; and we hope to continue to work with her on primetime specials,&#8221; the statement added.
Bialik had stepped back from her hosting duties amid the recent writer and actor&#8217;s strike. Jennings has been the sole host since the debut of Season 40 in September, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/mayim-bialik-out-host-jeopardy-actress-confirms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a> noted.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sports" target="_blank" rel="noopener">WWE</a> star Becky Lynch made “Jeopardy!” history on Thursday after becoming the first contestant in the popular game show’s run to not answer a single question correctly in the first two rounds.
During the broadcast of “Celebrity Jeopardy,” the wrestling superstar went up against actor Macaulay Caulkin and comedian Rachel Dratch and struggled with the buzzer and answers, <a href="https://www.thewrap.com/becky-lynch-loses-celebrity-jeopardy-history/">The Wrap</a> reported.
Caulkin and Dratch faired pretty evenly, but Lynch couldn’t get one answer correct out of the 60 clues given throughout the first and second round of the game.
While she did manage to beat out the other stars to the buzzer one or two times, she ended the first round with not a single correct answer &#8212; and in Double Jeopardy, she faired the same.
Caulkin had 25 correct responses and three incorrect followed by Dratch with 20 correct answers and two incorrect at the end of Double Jeopardy. But Lynch had 0 correct replies and five incorrect answers by the end of the second round.
Host Ken Jennings spoke to Lynch during her struggles on the show and he noted she’s a wrestling champ who might be more used to working a “more raucous and rowdy room.”
“You know, maybe that’s what’s throwing me off,” Lynch replied. “You know, normally, I’m a genius but it’s a bigger arena. It’s a whole thing, that’s the problem.”
After the second round, Lynch was in the hole with negative money and in normal “Jeopardy!” wouldn’t have been allowed to compete any further. However, because it was “Celebrity Jeopardy,” she got to participate in the “Celebrity Jeopardy”-only round titled “Triple Jeopardy.”
Amazingly it was in this round where Becky got a correct answer when the clue was “A synonym for ‘butt,’ it’s also ‘an unclean animal’ according to the King James Bible.”

She said, “What is ‘a**&#8217;?” And proudly celebrated, announcing, “I’m back, baby!”
Going into Final Jeopardy, Lynch was in the hole once again, but the game show put $500 on the board in order for her to be able to compete.
The clue was “Exhumed in 2017 to settle a paternity suit, his mustache had ‘preserved its classic 10-past-10 position’ according to the Spanish press.”
The WWE star ended up getting the answer right, writing down, “Who is Salvador Dali?”
She finished the game with $1,000 in phony “Celebrity Jeopardy” money, with Culkin in second place with $33,600 and Dratch declared the winner with $33,601. All three earned thousands of dollars for each of their charities.
Reacting to headlines about her historic game show appearance, Lynch wrote on <a href="https://x.com/beckylynchwwe/status/1725181637032304805?s=46&amp;t=yVg_AIbZC0FnyCtU4qPVYw">X</a>, “I never stop making history.”

Alex Trebek&#8217;s wife Jean and their daughter Emily paid tribute to the late TV host on the third anniversary of his death following the &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; host&#8217;s passing in 2020. He was 80.

Trebek died on Nov. 8, 2020, after he lost his cancer battle after first being diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer in March 2019.
&#8220;Alex loved traveling,&#8221; Jean said, as a slideshow of her 30 years of marriage with Trebek played in the background. &#8220;When we could bring the kids with us that was always extra special.&#8221;
&#8220;He loved fixing things around the house,&#8221; she added. &#8220;He was very passionate just about being engaged in the everyday workings of life.&#8221;

A partnership was recently announced between the Stand Up To Cancer organization and the late host&#8217;s loved ones about the launch of a cancer research foundation in Trebek&#8217;s name, <a href="https://ew.com/tv/alex-trebek-loved-ones-honor-late-jeopardy-host-cancer-research-fund/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Entertainment Weekly</a> noted.
&#8220;Alex knew that knowledge equaled power,&#8221; Jean said in a statement. &#8220;He was a man that really loved to know things and stayed very curious. Since Alex was all about the right answer, I think it&#8217;s very fitting that this fund is now established in his name. It&#8217;s a way for the community that loved him to put resources directly into the hands of scientists working tirelessly to fight a disease shrouded by many unknowns.&#8221;
&#8220;I hope that all of the fans and community of Jeopardy really can lean in and show support for this,&#8221; Emily said. &#8220;I think they showed so much support for my dad when he was going through his cancer treatments. I hope that they stand up with this great organization.&#8221;
Trebek shared the heartbreaking news that he had been diagnosed with cancer with his &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; fans in 2019.
&#8220;I wanted to be the one to pass along this information,&#8221; the late host said at the time. &#8220;Now, just like 50,000 other people in the United States each year, this week I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.&#8221;
&#8220;Now, normally the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I&#8217;m going to fight this,&#8221; he added. &#8220;And I&#8217;m going to keep working, and with the love and support of my family and friends, and with the help of your prayers, also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease.&#8221;
Trebek and Jean tied the knot in 1990 and share two kids together.

Shapiro made the comments while <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jeopardy-fans-react-to-contestants-missing-easy-clue-about-lords-prayer-pathetic" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discussing the recent &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; episode</a> in which none of the contestants were able to complete a portion of the Lord’s Prayer. He said this illustrated how little Americans today knew of the religious tradition that had held American society together. 
“But you know what this says?&#8221; Shapiro said on his <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/ep-1748-fox-news-just-betrayed-every-conservative5" target="_blank" rel="noopener">podcast</a>. &#8220;It really says that the level of biblical Judeo-Christian knowledge in this country has absolutely plummeted through the floor. And you want to know why America&#8217;s collapsing socially? That would be the reason. The reason is there used to be a natural backdrop in the United States of particularly Christian values that everybody sort of understood.”
On the episode Shapiro was referencing, host Mayim Bialik read a clue that said, “Matthew 6:9 says, ‘Our Father, which art in heaven, [THIS] be thy name.’” The camera cut to contestants Laura, Joe, and returning champion Suresh, but not one of them buzzed in with a response.  
“Now I&#8217;m a Jew. Okay. We don&#8217;t do the Lord&#8217;s Prayer. That&#8217;s not a thing for us. Okay. But I also have watched movies and TV shows, and I live in America, so I know that the answer is ‘hallowed,’” Shapiro said.

The Daily Wire co-founder added that people of faith, particularly Christians, Jews, and Muslims, all held some traditional values that starkly contrasted with the new values being pushed at schools and by corporations across the country. 
“There is a common set of values shared by Jews and Christians and Muslims, actually,&#8221; Shapiro said. &#8220;And that set of values actually makes a difference in American public life. It&#8217;s why the notion that we should be posting &#8216;Pride&#8217; progress flags in classrooms, but not the Ten Commandments is so absurd on its face.”
Judeo-Christian values had been “supplanted” by a newer toxic religion that sought to take down Western civilization, the best-selling author added.
“We have supplanted one religion for another religion, and the new religion is bad. It is a bad religion. It is a cultish religion that requires not just acceptance and tolerance, but destruction of the traditional forms of morality that used to undergird all of Western civilization,” Shapiro explained.

Words to the Lord&#8217;s Prayer vary among Christian denominations, but all versions of this basic prayer include the word “hallowed.”
One fan suggested that the contestants knew the answer but were worried about mispronouncing it, a frequent issue on “Jeopardy!”
“Nobody got this but I&#8217;m sure they all knew it but were worried about the PRONUNCIATION. &#8216;Hallowed&#8217; or &#8216;hollowed,&#8217;” that person <a href="https://twitter.com/mfly1971/status/1668707294299791364">wrote</a>.

Fans also reacted strongly in May when all three contestants were <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/jeopardy-backlash-erupts-3-contestants-194518122.html#">marked</a> incorrect for their pronunciation of Russian writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.

“<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jeopardy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jeopardy!</a>” fans are not happy that several contestants got an answer correct but still lost due to flubbing the pronunciation.
<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/television" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Host</a> Mayim Bialik presented the clue during the category “The Quotable Alex.”
“An author and former prisoner: ‘Socialism of any type and shade leads to a total destruction of the human spirit,’” she said.
“Jeopardy!” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">contestant</a> Juveria Zaheer was the first to buzz in with the correct answer, which was Russian writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. But she was rejected for mispronouncing the famous author’s complicated last name.
Sami Casanova buzzed in with the correct answer as well, but was also rejected for not properly pronouncing “Solzhenitsyn.”
A third contestant, Hannah Wilson, also gave the name a go but was rejected.
“This is a tricky one to pronounce; looking for ‘Solzhenitsyn,’” Bialik said, pronouncing the name correctly.
Fans on Twitter were annoyed that none of the contestants got credit for the right answer despite getting very close to saying the name right.
“If you’re not going to accept anyone’s attempt to pronounce Solzhenitsyn, don’t write a clue about him,” one person <a href="https://twitter.com/zer0bandwidth/status/1655721744106237952" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>. 
“Solzhenitsyn. I get it’s hard to say but one of them was fairly close. Of all the names to be strict on …,” another Twitter user <a href="https://twitter.com/RobinJRichards/status/1655721922208976898" target="_blank" rel="noopener">replied</a>. Another viewer called the ruling “absurd.”
But there were “Jeopardy!” fans defending the decision too, noting how the show always takes pronunciation into consideration and shouldn’t have made an exception in this case.

The question <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/03/29/jeopardy-fans-claim-ken-jennings-robbed-contestant-after-shady-ruling/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asked</a> was: “After the Last Supper, Jesus traveled to this garden to pray and was arrested there.&#8221; Contestant Kevin Manning rang in with the correct answer, the Garden of Gethsemane, but did not pronounce it correctly when he omitted the &#8220;n&#8221; sound at the end.
Fans were further outraged when Jennings also mispronounced the answer, saying the word with a soft “g” and accepting that pronunciation from another contestant.

During the opening part of the popular <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/television">game show</a> on March 8, viewers at home saw a wide-shot of the three contestants&#8217; final scores on each of their screens, revealing the winner before the contestants even started answering questions, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/03/09/jeopardy-editing-glitch-shows-final-scores-before-game-start/?utm_campaign=SocialFlow&amp;utm_medium=SocialFlow&amp;utm_source=NYPTwitter">New York Post</a> noted.

The shot of the three contestants and their final scores was exactly the same dollar amount that viewers saw during the beginning segment of the show, with Jackson Jones winning the match at $24,000, Justin Bolsen with $13,570 and Maya Wright in last place with $3,370.
Fans of the long-time running game show took to Twitter, to express their disappointment and asked what happened.
&#8220;An inexcusable production error,&#8221; one person <a href="https://twitter.com/amandarykoff/status/1633677799889473538">tweeted</a>. Another <a href="https://twitter.com/katem02134/status/1633632500445503491">wrote</a>, &#8220;That&#8217;s a pretty significant screwup.&#8221;

So, the winner of the two-day tournament wasn&#8217;t completely revealed by the screw-up.

'Jeopardy!' Fans Ask What's Happening After 'Spoiler' Editing Glitch In Tournament

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/transgender">Trans-identifying</a> contestant Amy Schnieder made history again on the show by winning the $250,000 prize on “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jeopardy">Jeopardy!: Tournament of Champions</a>.”
Schneider defeated fellow contestants Andrew He and Sam Buttrey, securing the top spot after winning three games. Schneider is the first trans-identifying contestant to win the tournament.
&#8220;I feel amazing,&#8221; Schneider said in a statement following the big win. &#8220;Earlier in the finals, I had this sudden moment of seeing myself and being like, ‘I’m on stage in the Tournament of Champions finals,’ and that was crazy. And I won! It’s a great feeling.&#8221;
The &#8220;Jeopardy!: Tournament of Champions” began October 31. It featured 21 contestants who won at least four games since the 2020 tournament along with winners of the National College Championship, the Professors Tournament, and the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/television">game show&#8217;s</a> first Second Chance faceoff, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/amy-schneider-wins-jeopardy-tournament-champions">reported</a>.
In January, Schneider made headlines during a winning “Jeopardy!” streak, and the contestant was celebrated for being the woman with the most “Jeopardy!” wins. This narrative was widely accepted despite the fact that the Oakland resident was born a biological male.
“Good Morning America” cheered Schneider on during a news segment that month, saying, “She’s well on her way, but I’ve just got one question to ask. Who runs the world? Girls!” 
The woman with the most “Jeopardy!” wins prior to Schneider being awarded that title congratulated Schneider for having a winning streak, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trans-jeopardy-contestant-amy-schneider-ends-winning-streak-on-this-question">reported</a>. 
“Well, it was fun to hold a Jeopardy record for a few years…but it’s been even more fun to watch @Jeopardamy set new standards for excellence, on the show and off,” record-setting woman Larissa Kelly tweeted at the time. “Congratulations to Amy on becoming the woman with the highest overall earnings in the show’s history!”
Schneider sarcastically addressed critics in a Twitter post on December 31, sharing, “I’d like to thank all the people who have taken the time, during this busy holiday season, to reach out and explain to me that, actually, I’m a man. Every single one of you is the first person ever to make that very clever point, which had never once before crossed my mind.”
Following Schneider’s first loss, the “Jeopardy!” contestant issued a statement on what the winning streak meant. “It’s really been an honor,” Schneider said. “To know that I’m one of the most successful people at a game I’ve loved since I was a kid and to know that I’m a part of its history now, I just don’t know how to process it.”
