Former federal prosecutor Jeffrey Toobin joked on Friday that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis&#8217; case against former President Donald Trump was &#8220;going nowhere,&#8221; arguing that if it ever went to trial, former First Daughter Malia Obama, 25, might be in the Oval Office by then.
<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/quitting-to-spend-more-time-with-himself-conservatives-erupt-after-jeffrey-toobin-announces-departure-from-cnn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Toobin</a>, who spent some time <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/he-was-sexually-harassing-himself-cnns-navarro-defends-toobin-offers-unique-take-on-him-masturbating-during-zoom-call" target="_blank" rel="noopener">away from the network</a> after he was caught masturbating on a zoom call with colleagues, argued that the judge&#8217;s recent decision — namely that Willis could remain on the case only if her hand-selected special prosecutor (and former boyfriend) Nathan Wade stepped aside — had effectively stopped the case in its tracks.
&#8220;Today was a very good day for Donald Trump. This case is going nowhere,&#8221; Toobin said, pointing to another RICO case in Georgia and noting that it had taken nearly a year to get a jury seated. &#8220;This case is never going to trial before the election. It’s an embarrassment. All of this. Fani Willis has hung on, but this case going nowhere very quickly.&#8221;
Toobin is not the only CNN voice critical of the ongoing Georgia case. Earlier in the week, the network&#8217;s senior legal analyst <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnns-honig-on-fani-willis-screwups-that-led-to-judge-kicking-some-charges-embarrassing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elie Honig</a> had commented on the fact that a judge had dismissed a number of Willis&#8217; charges against Trump and his allies, saying that the whole situation was &#8220;embarrassing.&#8221;

Former DeKalb County, Georgia, District Attorney Gwen Keyes did not agree with Toobin&#8217;s assessment, however, saying, &#8220;I do think that there is enough evidence to go forward. I think that particularly the timing in this case, while we’ve had one racketeering case that has taken a long time to go to a jury, that’s an anomaly. In my 17 years as a state prosecutor. I’ve never seen it take 10 or 12 months to get a jury. And in the last RICO case that I’m aware of D.A. Willis taking to trial – with 12 defendants – she was able to get a jury in about four weeks. So, I think that’s the precedent that we should be looking at.&#8221;
Toobin held his ground, however, adding, &#8220;And as far as I can tell, this trial will be conducted during the presidency of Malia Obama. I mean, it is so far behind. I mean, ok, jury selection will take somewhere between a month and a year. There are lots of legal motions that are still to be decided in this case, just as there are in the other cases that Trump is facing.&#8221;

Conservatives posted plenty of barbs on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/twitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter</a> in reaction to the news that CNN chief legal analyst <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jeffrey-toobin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jeffrey Toobin</a> was leaving the network.
Toobin announced his decision to leave the network Friday after working for the network for 20 years. Toobin was previously at the center of significant controversy in 2020 when he was fired from the New Yorker and took a leave of absence from CNN after exposing himself during a Zoom video conference. Toobin was later welcomed back to the network.
Toobin made the announcement in a letter to colleagues Friday. &#8220;I wanted to let you know that after twenty years I’ve decided to leave CNN after my vacation,&#8221; Toobin said in the letter, via <a href="https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/jeffrey-toobin-cnn-out-1235340227/">Variety</a>. &#8220;It was great to spend my last day on air, like so many before, with my pals at [The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer], [Anderson Cooper 360] and Don Lemon Tonight. It’s been a privilege (and fun) being your colleague. The work of CNN is enormously important, and I know you’ll continue doing it with the same passion and intelligence as always.”
He made the announcement public in a tweet Friday afternoon. &#8220;Friends, I’ve decided that, after 20 years, I’m leaving @cnn after my vacation,&#8221; Toobin tweeted. &#8220;Was great to spend my last day on air with pals Wolf, Anderson and Don. Love all my former colleagues. Watch for my next book, about the Oklahoma City bombing, coming in 2023 from [Simon and Schuster].&#8221;
Variety noted that while it was not known whether his contract expired with CNN, Toobin&#8217;s exit appeared to be a mutual agreement. “We are grateful for Jeffrey’s contributions to the network over the years and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” CNN said in a statement, via Variety.
Conservatives on Twitter reacted to Toobin&#8217;s announcement, ruthlessly mocking him over the Zoom incident.
&#8220;He’s quitting to spend more time with himself,&#8221; podcaster <a href="https://twitter.com/neontaster/status/1558190521436082176" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Noam Blum</a> responded.

Toobin was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-analyst-jeffrey-toobin-suspended-by-new-yorker-after-he-exposed-himself-in-zoom-call" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suspended</a> in October of 2020 after he was reportedly caught masturbating during an election simulation with prominent members of the New Yorker. Toobin said he thought he had shut off his video feed and could not be seen.
“I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake, believing I was off-camera. I apologize to my wife, family, friends and co-workers,” Toobin said in a statement to Vice at the time. CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin suggested Tuesday that sentences for people possessing child pornography might be too harsh — largely, he argued, because the internet made such content far more accessible.
Toobin joined host Kate Bolduan on CNN&#8217;s &#8220;At This Hour&#8221; to discuss the ongoing Senate Judiciary Committee hearings for Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson — and the topic turned to child pornography after several Republicans questioned Judge Jackson&#8217;s record on such cases.

&#8220;Can I just add one point about these kiddie porn cases?&#8221; Toobin, who lost his position at The New Yorker after literally being <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-welcomes-back-legal-analyst-who-left-after-masturbating-on-zoom-call">caught with his pants down</a> during a work Zoom call, asked during a panel discussion about the hearing.
&#8220;This came up, I remember, when I was an assistant U.S. Attorney back in the ’90s is that when those sentencing guidelines were written for those cases, that this was a time when the people who committed these crimes would order individual photos and get them usually through email and then they would be sentenced based on the number of photos they possessed,&#8221; Toobin added. &#8220;This was all pre-internet. So once the internet came in and people got access to hundreds and then thousands of photos, they would, the sentencing guidelines would reflect hundreds and then thousands of photos.&#8221;
Toobin went on to suggest that the increased availability naturally led to much greater numbers of photos that people possessed — and that the sentencing recommendations did not reflect that change.
&#8220;What I thought Chairman Durbin pointed out is that judges across the country, including Republican appointed judges, have been saying, look, we can’t apply the rules that were designed pre-internet for an internet society and many judges have been giving somewhat less sentences as a result and I thought that was a very clear explanation of why Judge Jackson imposed sentences that were all prison sentences. It wasn’t like she was letting these people go, but they were somewhat less than the guidelines because the guidelines had not been adapted for the internet era,&#8221; Toobin concluded.
Jackson&#8217;s own defense of her recommendations was almost identical to Toobin&#8217;s: &#8220;Courts are adjusting their sentences in order to account for the changed circumstances.&#8221;

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/hawley-biden-scotus-nominee-has-a-pattern-of-letting-child-porn-offenders-off-the-hook/">brought the topic to the forefront</a> ahead of the hearings that started Monday, saying that he was concerned to see her discretionary sentences for those convicted of child pornography possession were often much lighter than either the law or the prosecution recommended.
As The Daily Wire reported:
<blockquote>I’ve been researching the record of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, reading her opinions, articles, interviews &amp; speeches,” the senator said. “I’ve noticed an alarming pattern when it comes to Judge Jackson’s treatment of sex offenders, especially those preying on children.
Hawley claimed that as far back as during Jackson’s time in law school, the judge has questioned whether convicts should be made to register as sex offenders and said that it leads to “stigmatization and ostracism.”
“She’s suggested public policy is driven by a ‘climate of fear, hatred &amp; revenge’ against sex offenders,” Hawley tweeted.
“It gets worse,” he warned. “As a member of the U.S. Sentencing Commission, Judge Jackson advocated for drastic change in how the law treats sex offenders by eliminating the existing mandatory minimum sentences for child porn.”</blockquote>
The White House <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/white-house-slams-hawley-allegations-about-biden-scotus-nominees-lax-record-on-child-pornographers-as-toxic-and-weakly-presented-misinformation/">responded</a> to Hawley&#8217;s accusations, as spokesman Andrew Bates declared his words &#8220;toxic and weakly-presented misinformation that relies on taking cherry-picked elements of her record out of context.&#8221;

In 2005, CNN’s founder Ted Turner lamented that his network was spending too much time reporting on perverts. “We have a lot of perverts on today and I know that, but is that really news?” Turner said at the time. “You&#8217;ve got to cover Michael Jackson, but not three stories about perversion that we do every day as well.”
Fast-forward 17 years, and unfortunately for Turner, one of the top news stories of today is the number of alleged perverts in recent years who have worked at the company he founded. It seems like there could be “three stories about perversion” every day coming from within the network.
To help keep track of the apparent degeneracy, we boiled down the following list in no particular order of firings, forced resignations, and even forgiveness at CNN due to what many would deem grotesque sexual proclivities, or at least an indication that they get their jollies in some very peculiar ways — if everything claimed is actually true.
CNN Senior Producer John Griffin
If the allegations against him are true, this is one of the most disgusting perverts to ever work at CNN. In December 2021, Griffin was fired by the network after <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-vt/pr/connecticut-man-indicted-attempting-induce-minors-engage-unlawful-sexual-activity-ludlow">being</a> charged with attempting to induce young girls into sexual activity, including allegedly flying girls across the country according to an indictment from the U.S. Attorney&#8217;s Office:
<blockquote>In June of 2020, Griffin advised a mother of 9- and 13-year-old daughters that the mother’s responsibility was to see that her older daughter was “trained properly.” Griffin later transferred over $3,000 to the mother for plane tickets so the mother and her 9-year-old daughter could fly from Nevada to Boston’s Logan airport. The mother and child flew to Boston in July of 2020, where Griffin picked them up in his Tesla and drove them to his Ludlow house. At the house, the daughter was directed to engage in, and did engage in, unlawful sexual activity.</blockquote>
Authorities also claimed, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/11/us/john-griffin-charged-arrested-minors-unlawful-sexual-activity/index.html">as noted by CNN</a>, that Griffin left an illustrious online trail of his activities:
<blockquote>According to an indictment filed on Thursday, Griffin allegedly paid for and kept an online profile on a “BDSM dating, Fetish, and Kink Site” for several years leading up to July 2020, on which he allegedly wrote he was looking for women who were “sexually ‘submissive’ and ‘open-minded.&#8217;”
During conversations on separate online platforms, Griffin allegedly said he believed in “a way of life” in which “women are sexually subservient and inferior to men,” according to the indictment. He allegedly used online platforms to seek parents “who would allow him to train their minor daughters to be sexually subservient,” the indictment said.</blockquote>
“The charges against Mr. Griffin are deeply disturbing. We learned of his arrest Friday afternoon and terminated his employment today,” a CNN spokesperson said in a <a href="https://www.ctinsider.com/news/article/CNN-fires-Connecticut-producer-accused-of-16699201.php">statement</a> at the time.
Griffin has been a longtime producer at the network. Now, he faces 10 years in jail per felony charge. 
CNN Producer Rick Saleeby 
CNN producer Rick Saleeby, a longtime staffer of Jake Tapper’s, is also accused of fantasizing about raping children, according to Project Veritas. Shortly after the undercover investigative journalism outlet released a video allegedly <a href="https://www.projectveritas.com/news/cnn-rick-saleeby-has-resigned/">revealing </a>Saleeby to be a child predator in late 2021 through texts and FaceTimes, the Fairfax County Police launched an investigation into the man. 
Following the PV videos, however, Saleeby resigned. All Fairfax PD has <a href="https://www.deseret.com/entertainment/2021/12/30/22859973/second-cnn-employee-under-investigation-involving-potential-juvenile-victims">said about the matter </a> is that in part they “will eventually be transparent about our findings, safeguarding the personal privacy and safety of victims and witnesses as well as maintaining the integrity of our criminal investigation are of paramount importance…” and that “Detectives assigned to the Child Exploitation Squad of the Major Crimes Bureau are leading the investigation,” into Saleeby.
But not all the potential pervs targeted children at CNN, others were accused of making sexually advancements on colleagues. 
CNN Supervising Producer Steve Brusk
What is it with Tapper producers leaving the company after being accused of inappropriate behaviors? In 2019, Steve Brusk <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/cnn-producer-steve-brusk-resigns-project-veritas">resigned</a> from Jake Tapper’s show after Project Veritas recorded — the first time — Saleeby discussing in detail how Brusk would make unwelcomed moves on female colleagues. Here’s how Fox News reported it at the time:
<blockquote>A <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media">CNN</a> producer abruptly resigned, according to a Thursday report, just weeks after he was implicated by another network staffer of sexual misconduct, in leaked videos from the controversial conservative watchdog group Project Veritas.
In October, Steve Brusk, CNN Politics&#8217; supervising producer, was accused of &#8220;making advances&#8221; at female employees at social gatherings. He allegedly would &#8220;put his arms around them&#8221; and &#8220;try and touch their leg&#8221; as well as being &#8220;flirty and inappropriate&#8221; in email exchanges, according to Rick Saleeby, whom Project Veritas identified as a senior producer for &#8220;The Lead with Jake Tapper.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;ll tell you this. In this climate that&#8217;s going on right now, he definitely would have been fired,&#8221; Saleeby told an undercover journalist for Project Veritas, who was secretly recording the conversation.</blockquote>
Saleeby was saying Brusk would have been fired? It takes one to know one, I suppose. 
Brusk has never been charged with anything, but his fleeing the company certainly adds to suspicion about what exactly he did at CNN. When asked why Brusk was never fired, Saleeby reportedly suspected his longevity and company executives shielded him:
<blockquote>&#8220;Partly, and he&#8217;s protected by certain people there,&#8221; Saleeby responded. &#8220;Value him or like him&#8230; like the other higher-ups there.</blockquote>
CNN Host Elliot Spitzer, Former Governor of New York
Former Governor of New York Elliot Spitzer may be long forgotten, but in June 2010, <a href="https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2011/07/06/137654073/cnn-cancels-eliot-spitzers-in-the-arena">CNN gave Spitzer</a> a role c0-hosting a primetime show with columnist Kathleen Parker called “Parker Spitzer.” Parker left in February 2011 — amid speculation that poor ratings were to blame — and the show was changed to “In the Arena,” hosted solo by Spitzer. It didn’t even last the year. 
Readers may be thinking there’s nothing twisted about a news network hiring a high profile politician for a TV slot. Well, Spitzer was <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/12/spitzer/index.html">hired</a> after he resigned from his gubernatorial post after getting caught in a New York prostitution ring.
 Spitzer resigned in 2008 after he was busted making at least seven to eight trips to a high end prostitution ring, spending upwards of $15,000, though prosecutors stated that it was closer to $80,000. Spitzer was never charged because, according to authorities, he never misused public funds or campaign funds for his dalliances. 
That was good enough for CNN and they gave the guy a job.
CNN Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin
Now it’s time for a real doozy. Jeffrey Toobin, a man accused of impregnating his mistress and pressuring her into getting an abortion, was busted in 2021 for masturbating while on a work call. But not just any call, a Zoom call where his colleagues could see everything in plain sight. The weirdest part was that Toobin explained his actions by claiming he thought the camera was off. How that would excuse doing that during a work day on a Zoom call — regardless of the context — is unclear. He was suspended for eight months. 
Upon his return, Alisyn Camerota<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8noCAW7z5Bk"> interviewed him </a>about the incident on live TV. What sort of company leaves a woman to interview her co-worker about the lessons he has learned about not pleasuring yourself as a grown man during a work call? CNN, that’s what company. Sickos. 
Toobin’s actions were so lurid, his last name became a euphemism for the act he was caught doing. But, somehow, CNN forgave Toobin and he is now back on TV nearly every night. You can watch his “welcome back party” <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8noCAW7z5Bk">here</a>.
CNN Anchor Chris Cuomo
The fired CNN anchor had a sordid history with the network for outside activities — not necessarily related to personal accusations of sexual harrassment. He was caught <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/janice-dean-responds-to-cuomo-bros-plan-to-discredit-fox-weather-b">assisting </a>with public relations for his brother Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) as his policies led to the deaths of thousands in Empire State nursing homes. Then, it was revealed the TV anchor was helping his gubernatorial sibling with statements and secret research into accusers who alleged that Andrew had sexually harrassed them for some number of years. 
It obviously did not work because the New York Attorney General Letitia James launched an initial investigation into whether or not he could be charged for anything. Andrew subsequently resigned, but his brother at CNN was not allowed such a graceful exit. An internal investigation at the network revealed that Cuomo the younger actually was much more involved with his older brother’s PR strategy than had initially been realized. 
Cuomo was placed on suspension in December for assisting in the sexual harassment media defense of his brothers, but then the bomb dropped. Chris was also accused of sexual harrssment. He was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-details-emerge-about-why-cnn-fired-chris-cuomo-reports">fired by CNN </a>shortly thereafter. Debra Katz, an attorney representing the accuser, released the following statement in part:
<blockquote>In the wake of public sexual harassment allegations against former Governor Andrew Cuomo, Chris Cuomo looked directly into the camera and told viewers of Cuomo Prime Time, “I have always cared very deeply about these issues and profoundly so. I just wanted to tell you that.” Subsequently, the Attorney General released jaw-dropping documentary evidence demonstrating that Chris Cuomo played an active role in attempting to smear women whom the Attorney General concluded had made serious allegations of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct against the Governor. Hearing the hypocrisy of Chris Cuomo’s on-air words and disgusted by his efforts to try to discredit these women, my client retained counsel to report his serious sexual misconduct against her to CNN.</blockquote>
Immediately after Katz brought the information to CNN, Cuomo was fired. He hasn’t been charged with anything, but what was the claim that got Cuomo to be fired — especially after they kept Toobin around? We may never know. 
CNN President Jeff Zucker 
The latest individual implicated in sexual misconduct at the company is CEO’s former president Jeff Zucker. Zucker resigned this past week after the<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-blasted-after-zucker-resigns-over-relationship-with-colleague-industry-insiders-suggest-more-to-story"> investigation into former employee Cuomo revealed</a> that the media leader had a consensual, non-disclosed relationship with one of his colleagues, Allison Gollust. Zucker claims it is completely consensual and Gollust has not alleged any sexual harrassments. Others say it was an “open secret,” while some have even suggested that the relationship had been suspected of going on for years — including while the two were married — as Katie Couric, a former Zucker staffer at NBC, said Gollust and Zucker were “<a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/03/business/media/jeff-zucker-allison-gollust-cnn.html">joined at the hip</a>.” 
If it were a consensual relationship between two adults after a divorce, that does not necessarily make it “perversion” — as CNN’s founder might have complained about so many years ago. If they were having an affair, which Couric hints she believed may have been the case, then this is obviously a bigger scandal.

The second lapse in critical thinking occurred within the CNN employees who could not figure out why Zucker had to go. Many acted like the guy died or something. After Zucker resigned, CNN executive Michael Bass told the entire editorial team on CNN’s daily call, &#8220;I know we&#8217;re all in shock.&#8221;
“You can&#8217;t replace Jeff. It&#8217;s not possible,” he claimed. “There&#8217;s no one else like him.&#8221; 
So, &#8220;the best thing we can do is honor his legacy and continue his mission…Do what we&#8217;ve been doing every single day.&#8221; 
So, there you have it. They say your worst fear consumes you. We&#8217;re sorry to break the news to Turner, but it looks like alleged perverts have consumed his network, making the news so horrendous as he was afraid would happen. 
Turner one time told his staff he “would like to see us return to a little more international coverage on the domestic feed and a little more environmental coverage and, maybe, a little less of the pervert of the day.” 
What he could not have known is that in the year 2022, many Americans feel the exact same way about the network — only this time it’s about the news going on inside the network rather than what they report on each day.

Judge Bruce Schroeder on Wednesday laid into legal analysts on left-wing network CNN, including chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin &#8212; whom he mentioned by name, over their &#8220;obvious&#8221; ignorance of the law.
Schroeder, overseeing the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, commented on the media for a second time since the trial started Monday.
“I’m going to comment about the media — again,” the judge said, noting that a talking head called the case the “most divisive case in the country to date,&#8221; Law &amp; Crime <a href="https://lawandcrime.com/live-trials/live-trials-current/kyle-rittenhouse/kyle-rittenhouses-judge-scolds-jeffrey-toobin-and-other-cnn-analysts-for-being-obviously-unfamiliar-with-an-ancient-rule-of-our-law/">reported</a>.
“So, anything that undermines public confidence in what happens here is very important,” Schroeder continued. “It’s important for this town. It’s important for this country to have people have confidence in the result of this trial — whatever it is. And I don’t care what it is.”
The media, he said, are “saying things that are totally bizarre.&#8221; CNN’s Toobin and “another attorney” on the network discussed the “uncommunicated threat rule,” an “ancient rule of our law,” the judge outlined, the report said.
“This was on CNN &#8212; Jeffrey Toobin and another attorney there &#8230; A comment was made that the ruling was incomprehensible,” the Schroeder explained. “And I think they obviously are not familiar with this rule. That’s our law. That’s the law in the Jackson case; it&#8217;s the law in the case of the United States against Craig A. Smith, which is 230 federal second 300, a Seventh Circuit case from 2000. This is admissible evidence.”
According to Law &amp; Crime, the discussion came up in the courtroom as defense challenged prosecution&#8217;s ask to show video with narration the defense deemed &#8220;hearsay that was inadmissible.&#8221; Ultimately, Schroeder only allowed the prosecution to turn on the audio for portions of the footage shown to the jury.
As highlighted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/witness-man-rittenhouse-fatally-shot-acted-erratic-hurled-n-word-shouted-shoot-me-near-gas-station">The Daily Wire</a>, a witness who testified, social media influencer Koerri Washington, confirmed Wednesday that he has seen videos of Joseph Rosenbaum, a man fatally shot by Rittenhouse, hurling the N-word and yelling “shoot me” near a Kenosha gas station on the night of August 25, 2020.
Washington also told the jury he made a “mental note” of Rosenbaum due to his “erratic” behavior.
Rittenhouse was 17 years old when he was arrested for fatally shooting Rosenbaum and one other man, as well as injuring a third during unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He is <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/02/us/kyle-rittenhouse-charges.html">charged</a> with five felony counts and one misdemeanor, including first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, and possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18.
The teen pleaded not guilty in January, claiming he acted in self-defense.

One day, we may look back and dub this month in cable news history “the return of the pervert,” as CNN and MSNBC welcomed back commentators and contributors accused of sexual harassment or other carnal improprieties to their airwaves. Abusing their position to obtain sexual favors, exposing themselves, or racking up a years-long history of inappropriate comments to female guests and co-workers could not stand in the way of Leftists’ return to the class of punditry.
Everyone from former Rep. Katie Hill (D, naturally, CA), to Jeffrey Toobin, to Chris Matthews have shaken off the muck of scandal and plunged into the ranks of cable news talking heads.
Katie Hill’s “throuple” with a young staffer exploded into public view after the Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/katie-hill-democratic-ex-congresswoman-in-throuple-must-pay-conservative-newspaper-105k-after-lawsuit-backfires">published photos</a> of Hill and her then-husband pawing a woman roughly half her age. The power differential between Hill and the employee raised questions of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/katie-hill-sex-scandal-worsens-staffer-felt-abused-in-toxic-relationship-consent-questions-emerge-report-says">sexual harassment</a> in the age of #MeToo. Still, CNN not only invited Hill, who spent less than a year in Congress, to offer commentary on a subject about which she clearly had no expertise, but CNN host Brianna Keilar <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/3-democrats-the-media-are-thirsty-to-have-back-in-politics">practically begged her</a> to return to politics.
Meanwhile at MSNBC, Joy Reid <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-did-something-wrong-chris-matthews-explains-his-abrupt-departure-from-msnbc">ushered</a> her predecessor, Chris Matthews — who faced amorphous-yet-sustained charges of making inappropriate comments to female guests — back into his old time slot as a political commentator earlier this month. Days later, “Deadline White House” host Nicolle Wallace introduced “my friend, Chris Matthews” to her viewers. (He went on to say that Donald Trump “is up there with Benedict Arnold right now.”)
Most conspicuous by his on-air presence was former CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, whom CNN jerked back onto the airwaves after a suspension for exposing himself while masturbating during a Zoom call with fellow employees at The New Yorker magazine. “Look, if you can’t recover from masturbating on a Zoom in front of colleagues, is this even America anymore?” <a href="https://twitter.com/curtmills/status/1403191579310018561">quipped</a> Curt Mills of The American Conservative. Fellow CNN hack Ana Navarro covered Toobin (which is more than Toobin ever did), <a href="https://www.theblaze.com/news/ana-navarro-defends-jeffrey-toobin">telling</a> “The View” that her colleague “didn&#8217;t have the intent to sexually harass somebody. He was sexually harassing himself maybe.” But flashing your penis in front of co-workers would fall well within the sexual harassment guidelines of any business. If a work-from-home employee accidentally exposed himself in front of others on a Zoom call during the pandemic, it is inconceivable that he would remain employed by the end of the day. The double standards of the left-of-center chattering class hardly confine themselves to sex, as Chris Cuomo’s continued tenure at CNN proves.
While Leftists get an endless stream of waivers, exemptions, and second-chances, conservatives get a pink slip. The lowest-rated cable news network has canceled its contract with every conservative commentator who didn’t vote for Joe Biden — which is to say, every conservative commentator. It fired Jeffrey Lord because Lord, who is Jewish, used the phrase “Sieg Heil” on social media; it now refers to disagreements about the 2020 election as “The Big Lie” every 10 minutes.
CNN hired, then <a href="https://thehill.com/media/369685-trump-supporter-ed-martin-out-at-cnn-after-4-month-stint">fired</a>, conservative commentator Ed Martin, who hosts the “<a href="https://www.phyllisschlafly.com/category/ed-martin-movement-radio/">Pro-America Report</a>” on the radio, within four months in 2017. While he held the position, Martin offended the network by <a href="https://www.salon.com/2017/10/02/new-cnn-contributor-ed-martin-said-failing-cnn-is-fake-news_partner/">not changing</a> his views — something Ana Navarro could not defend. She once <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/tv/cnns-ana-navarro-loses-it-on-ed-martin-i-barely-know-your-name-i-have-no-idea-who-you-are/">exploded</a> at Martin, “I barely know your name; I have no idea who you are. I never insult you.” At the time of his hiring, Lord <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/conservative-ed-martin-as-cnn-contributor-1075782/">called</a> Martin a “smart guy” who “will say things that go against the grain. After a while it will add up, and there will surely be those pushing to get rid of him.”
His prediction underlines that the only relevant factor in the networks’ HR decisions is the approval of the network’s uniformly Leftist hosts. Brian Stelter <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/10/media/jeffrey-toobin-returns-cnn/index.html">explained</a> that Toobin came back to CNN, because “[s]ome anchors and hosts at CNN” had “expressed a desire to have Toobin back on their shows, since he has been a leading legal voice on television for decades.” But why did former <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rick-santorums-firing-proves-cnn-doesnt-want-to-hear-anyone-who-sounds-like-you">Senator Rick Santorum</a> get the boot at the network? A “CNN senior executive” told HuffPost that CNN took Santorum off the payroll, because “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-fires-rick-santorum-after-he-claimed-founding-fathers-birthed-a-nation-from-nothing">none of the anchors wanted to book him</a>, so he was essentially benched, anyway.”
While welcoming Toobin back to the air, Alisyn Camerota warmly said, “Jeffrey, many of us have really missed having <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jeffrey-toobin-scotus-decides-christians-dont-have-to-follow-the-laws-that-everyone-else-has-to">your legal analysis</a> to guide us on our programs, so let me be the first to welcome you back.” Who will be the first to welcome back Santorum, Martin, Lord, Lewandowski, or anyone outside the ACELA Corridor with the temerity to say that 74 million Republican voters were not motivated by racial bias against … Joe Biden?
CNN insiders say subjectivity is the entire point: The network deliberately maintains <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/former-cnn-employee-says-outlet-has-no-real-ethical-code">vague ethical standards</a>, so that it can apply them selectively based on the person’s political ideology. “You won’t see any rules that are etched in stone so that a violation could be a firing offense,” said Steve Holmes, who worked at CNN for more than a decade. “They can’t say that [Cuomo]’s violated any written policies because there aren’t any, period.”
It’s not just a double standard. It’s not merely bias. It’s the networks’ conscious moral decision that the acceptance, much less the expression, of conservative thought is worse than sexually boorish or utterly inappropriate actions; that Judeo-Christian morality is immoral and more sullying than the sexually motivated abuse of power, indecent exposure, or violating (admittedly ill-defined and ever-shifting) standards that make females express discomfort. But then any movement promoting transgenderism has long ago dispensed with the importance of women’s feelings and safety. This was visible in a media that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/left-goes-nuts-over-reports-pence-will-only-eat-hank-berrien">mocked</a> Mike Pence for refusing to have dinner alone with a member of the opposite sex, then <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harris-is-co-hosting-a-womens-empowerment-event-with-bill-clinton-womens-groups-have-said-nothing">remained silent</a> as newly elected Vice President Kamala Harris co-hosted an event on “empowering women and girls” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harris-to-go-one-on-one-with-bill-clinton-on-empowering-women-attend-event-with-ties-to-anti-semite">with Bill Clinton</a>.

A Supreme Court decision preventing the government from discriminating against religious institutions that place children in foster care has been twisted by media analysts into proof that Catholics “don’t have to follow the laws that everyone else has to follow.”
CNN’s Chief Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin also falsely claimed that the ruling means that LGBT people “are not able to become foster parents in Philadelphia, in Pennsylvania.”
On Thursday, the Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/religious-freedom-advocates-celebrate-after-scotus-sides-with-catholic-group-on-gay-couple-foster-parents">ruled unanimously</a> that the city of Philadelphia wrongly excluded Catholic Social Services from a city contract to provide foster care because the organization will not place children with same-sex couples due to religious convictions.
Catholic Social Services, which began serving Philadelphia’s orphans <a href="https://cssphiladelphia.org/the-history-of-catholic-social-services/">in 1797</a>, has administered foster care for the city for more than 50 years. But in 2018, city officials moved to cut ties with the organization after discovering that its Catholic faith teaches that children should be raised in a home with a married mother and father.
No same-sex couple ever applied to become a foster parent through the Catholic agency, which would have referred the couple to one of the city&#8217;s 29 other foster care agencies that have no such religious concerns.
Although Chief Justice John Roberts ruled in <a href="https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/20pdf/19-123_g3bi.pdf">Fulton v. Philadelphia</a> that the city violated the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/supreme-court-catholic-agency-same-sex-foster-care-004b978239e41675524859ae79a5333b">terms</a> of its own contract by denying a religious exemption, the legacy media presented the ruling as proof that Catholics had placed themselves above the law.
“This is allowing a Catholic foster agency to discriminate against same-sex couples who want to foster through them specifically,” said CNN Justice Correspondent Jessica Schneider on “CNN Newsroom.”
Jeffrey Toobin claimed that the ruling rewarded “a big legal cause of conservatives in America, which is telling religious institutions and religious people that they don’t have to follow the laws that everyone else has to follow.”
When others on the panel pointed out that the ruling narrowly focuses on the contract&#8217;s terms, Toobin presented the issue as one of Christian, and especially Catholic, organizations quashing the rights of LGBT people.
“You can write these things as narrowly as you want, but the message that is sent by cases like this and by the result in this case, regardless of what the words the Chief Justice used are, is that religious organizations — and it’s almost always Christians and it’s usually Catholic organizations — do not have to follow the laws that everybody else has to follow. They can excuse themselves when they have religious objections,” said Toobin, whose personal behavior has not always conformed to Catholic doctrine.
“That is a message that is being sent loud and clear,” he continued, “whether it’s holding religious services during COVID, whether it is fulfilling the requirements to pay for contraception for employees, whether it is baking a cake for a same-sex wedding, is that you can get out of obligations that are imposed on everyone else if you have a religious objection.”
“It is a controversial notion,” asserted Toobin.
He added that, thanks to the court ruling, “gay people … are not able to become foster parents in Philadelphia, in Pennsylvania.”
CNN host Poppy Harlow corrected him, saying that the decision “relates to this Catholic foster service” and “not more broadly.”
“Yes, I’m glad you pointed that out,” said Toobin, who then <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUnDPJ9bsNM">equated the LGBT situation with Jim Crow</a>. “But many foster care agencies are affiliated with churches, and so if they have a religious objection to same-sex couples, they can say, ‘No gay people need apply.’”
MSNBC offered a similarly negative interpretation of the ruling. NBC News correspondent Peter Williams said the “decision is quite narrow” because “the Supreme Court was really trying not to let the decision stand for a wider acceptance of the idea that you can discriminate based on religious freedom.”
The Hill also <a href="https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/558925-supreme-court-sides-with-catholic-adoption-agency-that-turned-away">incorrectly reported</a>, “Supreme Court sides with Catholic adoption agency that turned away same-sex couples.” As noted, not a single same-sex individual ever applied to become a foster parent via Catholic Social Services.

Religious liberty advocates celebrated the unanimous decision, although it did not tackle the underlying First Amendment issue of religious believers’ ability to live according to the teachings of their faith.
“Despite the pitiful dearth of foster-care agencies in the United States, the Democratic stronghold of Philadelphia excluded a faith-based charity from helping to meet the growing need,” said <a href="https://frc.org/">Family Research Council</a> President Tony Perkins. “Increasingly, the Left refuses to tolerate the slightest deviation from their political orthodoxy regardless of who suffers as a result.”
Kelly Shackelford, president of the First Amendment legal watchdog the <a href="https://firstliberty.org/">First Liberty Institute</a>, said the court&#8217;s decision “ensured that religious adoption providers can continue their centuries-old work serving families and children without suffering government discrimination, because they believe that the best home for a child includes a mother and father.”
“This is a tremendous victory for religious liberty,” he said.

Speaking on ABC’s “The View,” on Monday, CNN’s Ana Navarro attempted to defend legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, who made his comeback on the network last week when he was interviewed by CNN’s Alisyn Camerota. Toobin had taken a leave of absence from CNN in the fall of 2020 after he was caught masturbating on a Zoom call taking place with his colleagues from The New Yorker.
Toobin had told Camerota, “Well, obviously, I wasn’t thinking very well or very much. And it was something that was inexplicable to me. I think, one point, I wouldn’t exactly say in my defense, because nothing is really in my defense; I didn’t think I was on the call. I didn’t think other people could see me.”
Navarro offered a unique explanation and euphemism, declaring that Toobin had not been “sexually harassing somebody… he was sexually harassing himself.”
Asked by host Whoopi Goldberg if she was surprised to see Toobin back on the air at CNN, Navarro replied, “You know, I’m not surprised he’s back on the air but I will tell you when I saw that interview, oh, God, how embarrassing, how humiliating. I kept thinking to myself: If I have to go on live TV and explain to the nation why I masturbated on a Zoom call I think I’d rather sell avocados under I-95 than get my job back on TV.”
Then she began her defense: “Look, I think some instances of sexual harassment are black and white. Some instances are more nuanced. In this case, He was not sexually harassing somebody — he didn’t have the intent to harass somebody. He was sexually harassing himself, maybe.”
Contending that Toobin belonged back on CNN, Navarro continued, “He was on a Zoom call; it was an accidental exposure. It was not a CNN Zoom call. It was with The New Yorker, from where he has been terminated and faced consequences. He was off CNN for many months during some of the elections, during some of the hottest political and legal times. I have to say, some of my CNN colleagues, the legal analysts who filled in the void &#8230;  have done an amazing job.”
Navarro theorized that if viewers were uncomfortable watching Toobin (certainly that might be a risky possibility), they could simply eschew watching CNN while he was on, and added that CNN colleagues should be aware that his actions had not targeted them. She stated, “I also think CNN is a for-profit business. If viewers don’t like it, then they should make their views known. If they want to have some grace, if they want to say ‘We’re not going to cancel a guy because he made a stupid mistake,’ I think his bigger problem is frankly with himself, with his family, with his wife than it is with his CNN colleagues because it was not that was done to us. It was something stupid, horrific, kinky, freaky that he did. But it wasn’t something that he was trying to do to us, his CNN colleagues.”

‘He Was Sexually Harassing Himself’: CNN’s Navarro Defends Toobin, Offers Unique Take On Him Masturbating During Zoom Call

On Monday, after having attempted to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-welcomes-back-legal-analyst-who-left-after-masturbating-on-zoom-call">rehabilitate legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin</a> last week after he had left the network in disgrace last fall for having masturbated live on a Zoom call, CNN launched another attempt to rehabilitate another fallen spokesperson for the left-wing agenda, disgraced former congresswoman Katie Hill.
Only ten days ago, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/ca-state-wire-business-technology-government-and-politics-74199c36f482660d260ca23614858ce9">The Associated Press</a> (AP) reported that Hill had been ordered to pay a total of roughly $220,000 in attorneys’ fees to the Daily Mail, Red State managing editor Jennifer Van Laar, and radio producer Joseph Messina. Hill had filed a lawsuit after photos of her in the nude were published, but it was rejected on First Amendment grounds, <a href="https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2021-06-02/katie-hill-attorneys-fees-revenge-porn?utm_id=30470&amp;sfmc_id=1694441">the Los Angeles Times reported.</a>
“<a href="https://apnews.com/article/1b4b3755a7124b029440e8513e981929">Hill resigned in 2019 </a>after the publication of the photos and amid a House ethics probe into allegations of an inappropriate sexual relationship with one of her congressional staffers, which she denied,” AP noted.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Yolanda Orozco said Hill would have to pay roughly $105,000 to the parent company of the Daily Mail, about $84,000 to the attorneys of Van Laar, and roughly $30,000 to lawyers representing Joseph Messina.
Hill has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/katie-hill-mocks-rush-limbaugh-blowback-ensues">mocked the late Rush Limbaugh</a> being awarded the Medal of Freedom, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/disgraced-former-congresswoman-katie-hill-mocks-coney-barretts-clothes-conservative-social-media-wrecks-her">mocked Supreme Court Justice</a> Amy Coney Barrett&#8217;s clothing, and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-unapologetic-katie-hill-blames-right-wing-media-for-her-downfall-in-new-video">blamed</a> “right-wing media” for her fall from grace after she resigned from the House when it was revealed she had engaged in an improper sexual relationship with one of her congressional staffers.
On Monday, CNN’s Brianna Keilar questioned Hill about her current work before gushing, “Before I let you go, will you run again?”
“Listen, I haven’t written anything off; the last two years, well, year and a half have been really, you know, tragic and important for my family and for me in terms of figuring out what the next steps are,” Hill replied. “And right now, I need to figure out my role in making sure this gets passed, helping women run for and get elected to office and the work that we’re doing with Her Time is supporting candidates, supporting incumbents, and ultimately, 2022, we have to hold the House. Everyone needs to remember that. All of this work we’ve done before; all of the frustrations around ‘We’re not getting as much done as we want to; the Senate is holding us up because of the filibuster, literally not of that will matter —’”
Keilar persisted, “But doesn’t that make you want to get back in the arena?”
“Sometimes,” Hill answered. “But sometimes I wonder maybe my role is more important on the outside. So I’m still definitely on that, kind of, figuring it out piece, and at the same time we’ve got redistricting happening. There’s six months probably to go before we know what these districts are going to look like and what districts are going to be competitive. Mine, the one that I ran in before, might not even be a competitive district, so my attention might need to be elsewhere to do what I can to protect the majority. I got time to decide and a lot of legal battles and legal debt to go in the meantime.”
Keilar, still pressing, concluded, “All right. Well, we will keep asking, Congresswoman.”

After Rescuing Jeffrey Toobin, CNN Tries Resurrecting Disgraced Katie Hill’s Career

On Friday, sports commentator Clay Travis, who was banned from CNN after he said he “believed in the First Amendment and boobs,” roasted CNN for bringing back legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin after he had been caught masturbating on a Zoom call with colleagues from The New Yorker.
Travis tweeted, “CNN banned me from their network for saying I believed in the first amendment and boobs, but they just rehired a guy caught masturbating on a Zoom call and had him discuss it live on air.”

On Thursday, Toobin, who took a leave of absence from CNN after the incident, which was first <a href="https://www.vice.com/en/article/epdgm4/new-yorker-suspends-jeffrey-toobin-for-zoom-dick-incident">reported</a> by Vice, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-welcomes-back-legal-analyst-who-left-after-masturbating-on-zoom-call">began his resurrection on CNN</a> by saying his actions were &#8220;inexplicable&#8221; to him, then admitted he &#8220;didn&#8217;t think people could see&#8221; him, saying: &#8220;Well, obviously, I wasn’t thinking very well or very much. And it was something that was inexplicable to me. I think, one point, I wouldn’t exactly say in my defense, because nothing is really in my defense; I didn’t think I was on the call. I didn’t think other people could see me.”
On September 15, 2017, Travis appeared on CNN with host Brooke Baldwin, where they discussed former President Trump targeting ESPN personality Jemele Hill, who had called Trump a white supremacist.
Baldwin stated, “Of all the different columnists or even magazines, in the wake of Charlottesville, specifically, that have called out the president as racist, why do you think he really took this particular target on, ESPN, and Jemele?”
“Well, I think because ESPN’s not really in the business of commenting randomly on political-related issues, Travis replied. “If you look at their history, they established about 18 months ago that they don’t believe their people should be involved in non-sports-related political controversies. They suspended and then fired Curt Schilling for saying that he disagreed with the North Carolina bathroom bill. And that had absolutely nothing to do with sports. And they said, “Look, you can’t have this opinion; it’s too conservative. We’re not going to allow it. I think that’s a bad move; I’m a first amendment absolutist. I believe in only two things completely: the First Amendment and boobs.”
He continued, “And so once they made the decision that they were not going to allow a conservative non-sports-related commentary, they couldn’t —
“Wait, did you just say you believe in the First Amendment and — Clay, hold on, hold on, hold on,” Baldwin interjected. “I just want to make sure I heard you correctly as a woman anchoring this show. Did you just say, what did you say? You said you believe in the First Amendment and b-double-o-bs?&#8221;
“Boobs. Two things that have only never let me down in this entire country’s history,” Travis reiterated. “The First Amendment and boobs. So those are the only two things I believe in absolutely in the country. So I don’t think Jemele Hill should be fired, but I do think straight up that once you make the decision that you were going to let Curt Schilling go that you have to also make the decision that you’re going to let Jemele Hill go. I think that’s a bad decision; I think that ESPN has made bad decisions that have led to 13 million subscribers bailing on the network. They’ve made bad decisions that have led to ratings collapsing; Jemele Hill’s television show is collapsing. Ratings were down 20% last week over last year; that’s why she’s angry. That’s why she went after Donald Trump. She’s begging for ESPN to fire her so she can work somewhere else.”
Later in the interview, Baldwin burst out, “Why would you even say that on national television and with a female host?”
