House Oversight and Accountability Chairman <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/james-comer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">James Comer</a> (R-KY) said on Wednesday that an impeachment inquiry into President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> was likely “imminent” as some Republicans have asked for the impeachment process to move forward after months of investigations. 
Comer, who has led the investigations into the Biden family’s overseas business dealings, told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday that there would likely be a vote soon on opening an impeachment inquiry.
“There’s consensus in our conference now that we are going to have to go to the impeachment inquiry,” Comer <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/house/james-comer-impeachment-inquiry-imminent" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “Obviously, that will be Speaker McCarthy’s call, but I feel like we’re there now, Sean. I feel like that is imminent.”
The White House has said that the president was never involved in Hunter Biden’s foreign business deals, which have come under scrutiny from investigators, or aware of what was going on, but House Republicans say that the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/timeline-of-alleged-biden-family-corruption" target="_blank" rel="noopener">evidence points</a> otherwise. 
“I am here to tell you, Sean, Joe Biden was front and center,” Comer said. “He met with every one of these people that he claimed he never met with, that he never spoke to, and we are putting together the timeline where Hunter Biden was traveling to many of these countries on Air Force Two while Joe Biden was vice president.”
The Oversight Committee on Wednesday <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/house-panel-demands-records-of-hunter-bidens-trips-on-air-force-two?utm_source=partner&amp;utm_campaign=conservnewsd" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> on the National Archives to produce records detailing when and where Hunter had access to Air Force Two. According to recent reports, Hunter accompanied then-Vice President Biden on more than a dozen foreign trips on Air Force Two — the name given to any plane currently transporting the Vice President of the United States.
Some Republicans in the House have already filed to impeach the president, including Florida Rep. Greg Steube and Tennessee <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/freshman-republican-lawmaker-files-to-impeach-biden-over-illicit-family-business-dealings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rep. Andy Ogles</a>.

Former General Counselor of the FBI (and former Twitter Deputy General Counsel) James Baker reportedly assisted in the effort to stifle any dissenting voices when it came to COVID-19 — even, or perhaps especially, when the dissenting voice belonged to then-President Donald Trump.
According to the most recent dump in the ongoing &#8220;<a href="https://dailywire.com/news/latest-twitter-files-reveal-biden-admin-push-against-covid-19-disinformation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter Files</a>&#8221; series, David Zweig reported that Twitter had actively moved to suppress or suspend accounts that did not fall in line with the approved messaging on COVID-19 — and that both the Trump administration and even more so the Biden administration had actively encouraged that.
But Zweig also reported on Monday that Baker — who, at the time <a href="https://twitter.com/edgett/status/1272672653841580032" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was working for</a> the social media giant — had specifically raised a question with the Twitter Trust &amp; Safety Team about a tweet from Trump that he thought should have been flagged as a violation of COVID policy.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk ripped former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday after testimony in the criminal trial of her former campaign attorney revealed that she approved pushing unfounded claims of Trump/Russia collusion to reporters.
Musk is in negotiations to purchase the social media platform Twitter in a $44 billion deal. He has rankled many on the Democratic side of the aisle in recent weeks with his promises to protect free speech on the platform, as well as with his criticisms of the Democratic Party and leftists.
On Friday, he responded to an account flagging a 2016 Clinton tweet on false Trump/Russia collusion claims as “disinformation.”
“You are absolutely correct. That tweet is a Clinton campaign hoax for which their campaign lawyer is undergoing a criminal trial,” Musk said, referring to the trial of cybersecurity attorney Michael Sussmann that began in Washington, D.C., on Monday.
In a follow-up tweet, Musk challenged Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and Twitter general counsel Vijaya Gadde over the false 2016 claim. “What say you?” Musk asked. The Tesla CEO has been an outspoken critic of Twitter’s censorship policies throughout negotiations.
Sussmann is being tried on one count of lying to the FBI during a September 2016 meeting with then-FBI general counsel James Baker, who <a href="https://nypost.com/2020/06/16/twitter-hires-former-fbi-chief-counsel-as-deputy-lawyer/">joined</a> Twitter’s legal team in June 2020. Prosecutors say Sussmann, who was an attorney at Perkins Coie at the time, hid that he was working on behalf of two clients — the Clinton presidential campaign and tech executive Rodney Joffe — from Baker, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/former-top-fbi-official-testifies-sussmann-100-hid-ties-to-clinton-campaign-during-2016-meeting">claims</a> that Sussmann approached him as a concerned citizen.
Sussmann has denied the charge, arguing that he never lied to Baker and, even if he did, his false statement had no impact on how the FBI handled the information he presented.
The Clinton tweet in question was entered into evidence during the Sussmann trial on Friday after Clinton’s 2016 campaign manager, Robby Mook, read the tweet in front of the jury. Mook testified that top staffers in the Clinton campaign, with Clinton’s explicit approval, pushed unsubstantiated claims of a backchannel between the Trump Organization and Russia’s Alfa-Bank to reporters.
“I discussed it with Hillary as well,” Mook <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-clinton-campaign-official-robby-mook-says-hillary-clinton-approved-handing-alfa-bank-claims-to-media-despite-doubts">testified</a>. “I don’t remember the substance of the conversation, but notionally, the discussion was, hey, we have this and we want to share it with a reporter.”
“She agreed,” he said.
Sussmann eventually took the Alfa-Bank claim to the FBI to, as prosecutors allege, help convince skeptical reporters to run the story. According to prosecutors, Sussmann billed the Clinton campaign for the meeting with Baker.
Musk claims to have only heard about the scandal last month. He “was blown away,” he <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1527736730178158597">said</a>.
Musk stated that he supported Clinton during the 2016 election before he knew of the false claims her campaign was alleging against former President Donald Trump. “I donated to &amp; voted for Hillary, so am doubly pissed off about those funds being used for lying,” Musk <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1527732218138972161">said</a>.
In another tweet, Musk reacted with apparent surprise when told that the former CFO of the 2016 Clinton campaign, Gary Gensler, now chairs the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which has investigated Musk multiple times and is currently looking into him again over the disclosure of his Twitter stake.
The SEC <a href="https://www.axios.com/2022/03/30/fec-clinton-dnc-steele-dossier-funding">fined</a> the 2016 Clinton campaign $8,000 in March for misreporting its funding of the notorious Steele dossier during the campaign as “legal services” and “legal and compliance consulting.”
“Sus man,” Musk <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1527733001584623618">said</a> in another post, an apparent play on the name of the former Clinton campaign attorney Sussmann.
“Bet most people still don’t know that a Clinton campaign lawyer, using campaign funds, created an elaborate hoax about Trump and Russia. Makes you wonder what else is fake,” he said in another Twitter <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1527719915666526208">post</a>. Responding to another user, Musk <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1527732563569168385">confirmed</a> “I am indeed out for blood” after ripping into the Clinton campaign and noting the unraveling of the Russia collusion conspiracy.

In an interview with Yahoo News&#8217; &#8220;Skullduggery&#8221; podcast this week, former FBI general counsel James Baker said that the FBI was &#8220;quite worried&#8221; that then-FBI Director James Comey telling President Trump about the allegations made in the unverified, Democrat-funded Steele dossier would appear to be J. Edgar Hoover-esque blackmailing. He also admitted that while the FBI took the dossier &#8220;seriously,&#8221; it did not necessarily take it &#8220;literally.&#8221;
&#8220;We were quite worried about the Hoover analogies, and we were determined not to have such a disaster happen on our watch,&#8221; Baker told &#8220;Skullduggery&#8221; hosts Michael Isikoff and Daniel Klaidman, in comments highlighted by <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fbi-officials-were-quite-worried-comey-appeared-to-be-blackmailing-trump-with-dossier">Fox News</a> Wednesday. The FBI, he suggested, wanted to make it clear to Trump that they were not carrying on the blackmailing &#8220;legacy&#8221; of Hoover.
As noted by the <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/ex-top-fbi-lawyer-james-baker-we-took-trump-dossier-seriously-but-not-necessarily-literally">Washington Examiner</a>, Baker also made the rather stunning comment that the FBI took the salacious, politically motivated dossier &#8220;seriously&#8221; but &#8220;didn&#8217;t necessarily take it literally.&#8221;
The dossier, which was compiled by a former British agent and paid for by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, contained a series of outlandish accusations, none of which have been verified. Despite the unverified and political nature of the anti-Trump dossier, it played a key role in the Obama FBI securing a FISA warrant to surveil, or as Trump puts it, &#8220;spy,&#8221; on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
Though Baker suggests that the bureau didn&#8217;t believe the dossier was fully reliable, he says they felt &#8220;obligated to deal with it.&#8221; Pressed on what the bureau did to confirm the still unverified claims in the dossier, he refused to answer directly, saying only that they came up with an &#8220;investigative plan&#8221; for the ultimately failed attempt to validate it, &#8220;especially with respect to the number of sources and sub-sources that Steele supposedly had according to the dossier,&#8221; the Examiner notes.
Asked if the FBI trusted Steele and his dossier at the time, Baker pointed to a footnote in the FISA warrant he signed off on that makes clear that they believed the former British agent to be &#8220;reliable&#8221; and &#8220;credible.&#8221; That footnote also infamously failed to point out that the dossier was funded by Democrats.
Baker&#8217;s comments come amid multiple investigations into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe. Along with Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz&#8217;s investigation, Attorney General William Barr recently announced the appointment of Connecticut&#8217;s top prosecutor John Durham to look into the matter. As <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/13/us/politics/russia-investigation-justice-department-review.html">The New York Times</a> reports, Durham has a long history of &#8220;investigating potential wrongdoing among national security officials, including the F.B.I.&#8217;s ties to a crime boss in Boston and accusations of C.I.A. abuses of detainees.&#8221;
&#8220;His inquiry is the third known investigation focused on the opening of an F.B.I. counterintelligence investigation during the 2016 presidential campaign into possible ties between Russia&#8217;s election interference and Trump associates,&#8221; the Times explained Monday. &#8220;The department&#8217;s inspector general, Michael E. Horowitz, is separately examining investigators&#8217; use of wiretap applications and informants and whether any political bias against Mr. Trump influenced investigative decisions. And John W. Huber, the United States attorney in Utah, has been reviewing aspects of the Russia investigation.&#8221;

Those were the last words of former President George H.W. Bush, which he said to his eldest son, former President George W. Bush, in a phone call on Friday night.
James Baker III, Bush&#8217;s former secretary of state and lifelong friend, told <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/01/us/politics/george-hw-bush-last-days.html">The New York Times</a> on Saturday about the final hours of the 41st president, who passed away on Friday at age 94.
&#8220;It was as gentle a passing as I think you could ever expect anyone to have,&#8221; Baker said. &#8220;And he was ready.&#8221;
When Baker arrived at Bush&#8217;s home in Houston on Friday morning, &#8220;Mr. Bush suddenly grew alert, his eyes wide open,&#8221; the Times wrote.

Bush&#8217;s son, Neil, was also there, as were other family members and some friends. Bush spoke with his other children by phone in the last few minutes of his life &#8212; including the 43rd president, who was put on speaker phone and praised him as a &#8220;wonderful dad.&#8221;
In Bush&#8217;s final hours, acclaimed Irish tenor Ronan Tynan also stopped by the Houston house, where he sang &#8220;Silent Night.&#8221;

Dr. Levenson, who arrived at 9:15 p.m., led those in the room in prayer. &#8220;We all knelt around him and placed our hands on him and prayed for him and it was a very graceful, gentle death,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It was very evident that that man was so deeply loved.&#8221;
There was no struggle, no prolonged period of labored breathing. At 10:10 p.m., the former president slipped away.
&#8220;If those things could be sweet,&#8221; Mr. Baker said, &#8220;it was sweet.&#8221;

&#8220;Republican elders&#8221; have formed a coalition to lobby for the implementation of a &#8220;carbon tax,&#8221; <a href="http://edition.cnn.com/2017/02/07/politics/republicans-climate-change/index.html">reported</a> left-wing CNN Democrat John King on Tuesday.

Seemingly led by James Baker, the coalition will release its proposals for a &#8220;carbon tax&#8221; under the auspices of the <a href="https://www.clcouncil.org/">Climate Leadership Council</a> (CLC). The CLC <a href="https://www.clcouncil.org/about-us/">agitates</a> for &#8220;taxing carbon&#8221; in order to &#8220;discourage carbon emissions.&#8221; The CLC website offers no information regarding the mechanics of anthropogenic global warming (AGW), euphemistically and misleadingly branded &#8220;climate change&#8221; by Democrats and the broader left.

Baker wraps his pending proposal for a &#8220;carbon tax&#8221; with right-wing rhetoric, describing it as &#8220;conservative, free market, limited government, [and] competitive.&#8221; Borrowing a slogan from President Donald Trump, he also describes his &#8220;carbon tax&#8221; proposal as &#8220;an &#8216;America First&#8217; solution.&#8221;

To &#8220;offset the pain higher prices cause [Americans],&#8221; Baker allegedly called for &#8220;returning all money raised [by the &#8216;carbon tax&#8217;] to American taxpayers.&#8221; No mention was made of the administrative government costs of such tax plan.

Lamenting resistance towards the narrative of AGW, Baker described many Republicans as &#8220;skeptics&#8221; and &#8220;deniers&#8221; of its assumptions.

Other Republicans calling for the &#8220;carbon tax&#8221; as part of this new group include:

CNN reports some &#8220;specifics&#8221; of the plan as follows:

&#8220;An Escalating Carbon Tax:&#8221; Carbon dioxide emissions would be taxed at $40 a ton, with an eventually being raised $50 or more in order to suppress the burning of fossil fuels. The CLC claims that taxing carbon dioxide emissions at $40 would raise annually raise $300 billion. At $40, the tax would add an estimated 36 cents per gallon to gas prices. $50 would therefore add an estimated 43 cents per gallon to gas prices.

&#8220;Carbon Dividends:&#8221; The CLC claims that all funds raised by the &#8220;carbon tax&#8221; would be returned to American taxpayers. The plan calls for the Social Security Administration to administer the plan, estimating that the typical family of four would receive $2,000 a year. The plan is allegedly &#8220;revenue neutral&#8221; for the government.
&#8220;Border Adjustment Fee:&#8221; &#8220;High carbon imports&#8221; (which were not qualified or defined) would be subject to additional tariffs.

CNN did not report on estimates of aggregate costs for the plan&#8217;s administration. It also neglected to report on estimates of per capita costs that would be borne by Americans, or by American families.

The Republican group claims that &#8220;Asians and Hispanics&#8230; are deeply concerned about climate change.&#8221;
