The kind of third-worldist brainrot that has long been an undercurrent of America&#8217;s far-Left is having a moment.
The &#8220;Blame America First&#8221; crowd used to be confined to the fringes — coffee shop discussions of a million dead Iraqis, Jane Fonda manning a Viet Cong anti-aircraft gun, DSA conference speakers deriding Barack Obama as a war criminal for taking out Based Pan-Africanist Socialist Revolutionary Gaddafi — but now it dominates the Discourse. Podcasters and newsletter writers from Left, Right, and the schizo middle draw millions of clicks by asserting that American projection of force and pursual of interest is the root cause of all the world&#8217;s ills, from Russia-Ukraine to &#8220;genocide in Gaza&#8221; to the Islamic takeover of Europe.
Sadio Camara would likely agree with some version of that anti-Western assessment if you asked him about it. You can&#8217;t, though, because he got blown up by a car bomb last month.
Camara was the Minister of Defense in the West African country of Mali until his untimely yet instructive death on April 25. It was only a few years earlier that he played a key role in overthrowing his own country&#8217;s government, kicking out the United States (and even more so the French), and entering a security partnership with Russia and its mercenaries.
Mali is part of the Sahel region of Africa, alongside Niger and Burkina Faso. The average American could be forgiven for not caring much about this part of the world, but they should at least a little: it&#8217;s rich in rare earth minerals, resources like gold and uranium, and Islamic terrorists. They also sit along key migration routes from sub-Saharan Africa to Europe, which is to say that they have some bearing on how non-European Europe will continue to become in the future.
All three of those countries previously had democratic-ish governments that worked with the United States and France on counter-terrorism. You might recall the <a href="https://www.csis.org/analysis/dods-report-investigation-2017-ambush-niger">tragic ambush</a> in Niger that killed four Green Berets (and 4 Nigeriens) in 2017. Africa has really become a hotspot for Islamic terrorist groups in recent years, and the United States had a major presence in Niger to fight them (and smaller special forces operations in Mali and Burkina Faso).
Then, in the early 2020s, they fell one-by-one to Russian-backed coups that installed military juntas and severed ties with the United States.
&#8220;Move on from the colonial past and hear the anger, the frustration, the rejection that is coming up from the African cities and countryside, and understand that this movement is inexorable,&#8221; Malian government spokesman Abdoulaye Maïga told the UN in 2022. &#8220;Your intimidations and subversive actions have only swelled the ranks of Africans concerned with preserving their dignity.&#8221;
There is a little bit of blame to be attributed to Washington, D.C., at this point in the story. Under President Joe Biden, a delegation of officials visited Niger and more or less gave the junta an ultimatum: stop cozying up to Russia and Iran and work with us instead, or else. At the time, Niger was nearing a uranium agreement with Iran. (Surely that won&#8217;t be relevant down the road!)
They promptly told the Biden administration to kick rocks and booted what remained of America&#8217;s presence from the country, including one of our most critical drone bases in the region which we used to kill terrorists.
&#8220;For Niger it was just very abrupt and very aggressive. They felt that it was the same attitude that the French had,&#8221; Zineb Riboua, a research fellow at the Hudson Institute&#8217;s Center for Peace and Security in the Middle East, told me. &#8220;The military junta asked them to leave.&#8221;
&#8220;Instead of presenting it as an ultimatum, they could have presented an alternative. Instead of doing a uranium deal with Iran, why don&#8217;t you do one with the United States, and you get a school program or something in Niger, something they don&#8217;t have,&#8221; Riboua said. &#8220;A lot of these countries have unemployment issues, and they&#8217;re landlocked countries, so it&#8217;s very hard for them to do trade and be integrated in the region.&#8221;
Alas, with the Western colonial powers gone, things should have been on the upswing for the Sahel. We&#8217;ve got Russia (primarily via its mercenary forces, the Wagner Group) doing security and fighting the terrorists. We&#8217;re trading with Iran and China. All is well.
Then they got mugged by reality. The Russians were killing untold numbers of civilians and still somehow managing to cede ground to the jihadists. In fact, in Burkina Faso and Mali, the Russians and government forces actually killed more civilians last year than the jihadists. The security situation was deteriorating rapidly. Then, things really came to a head in April, with the offensive that killed Camara and countless others.
The April attack even resulted in Russia&#8217;s own mini-Kabul moment, with Russian troops fleeing the region, forced to leave large amounts of weapons behind.
The Sahel juntas, just a few years after declaring themselves strong, independent, anti-Western governments that don&#8217;t need no protecting from Europe and America, found themselves being overrun by Jama&#8217;at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) and ISIS.

JNIM are a group of Salafi-jihadist groups, descended in part from al-Qaeda, which now operates in territory larger than every U.S. state besides Alaska, primarily in Mali and Burkina Faso. They&#8217;re the ones who rolled up to Camara&#8217;s house and detonated a car bomb. They&#8217;re probably the closest entity we&#8217;ve seen to peak ISIS since its downfall, seeing as their specific goals are to expel foreign forces and establish a caliphate under sharia law.
Of course, there is still ISIS itself, which is also active here. ISSP (Islamic State-Sahel Province) has taken over large swathes of Niger, and even launched an attack on the capital&#8217;s airport in January (which also housed some Russian mercenaries).

The Trump administration has signaled some willingness to get involved and try to rectify the situation, potentially with a mineral deal of some kind, but who knows if it will come too late. The Islamists are taking all three countries by storm now, and have killed nearly 80,000 people since 2019.
&#8220;We are victims of our wealth — the wealth that imperialists want to seize at all costs, aiming to keep us in slavery. We will secure it,&#8221; said Burkina Faso&#8217;s &#8220;Interim&#8221; President Ibrahim Traoré in 2024.
They probably wish they had stayed under the boot of Western imperialism after all.

President Donald Trump announced early Saturday morning that American forces had eliminated a top ISIS official in Africa, a major blow to the radical Islamic terror group.
&#8220;Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield,&#8221; Trump wrote on Truth Social. &#8220;Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, second in command of ISIS globally, thought he could hide in Africa, but little did he know we had sources who kept us informed on what he was doing.&#8221;

The United States <a href="https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2023/06/16/2023-12870/designation-of-abdallah-makki-muslih-al-rufayi-and-abu-bakr-ibn-muhammad-ibn-ali-al-mainuki-as">named</a> Minuki a &#8220;specially designated global terrorist&#8221; in 2023. A Nigerian native, the Nigerian government says he was likely recently elevated to the number two leadership spot in ISIS. According to U.S. Africa Command, Minuki &#8220;provided strategic guidance to the ISIS global network on media and financial operations as well as the development and manufacturing of weapons, explosives, and drones.&#8221;
&#8220;Al-Minuki was the most active terrorist in the world and has a significant history of involvement in planning attacks and directing hostage taking,&#8221; AFRICOM added.
Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu confirmed the raid in a post on X.

Two teenagers who pledged support for ISIS pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to terrorism and weapons charges tied to an alleged plot to carry out a bombing outside of Gracie Mansion in New York City.
Emir Balat, 18, and Ibrahim Kayumi, 19, are accused of planting improvised explosive devices, sometimes referred to as the &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/terrorists-have-killed-hundreds-with-mother-of-satan-bomb-used-in-nyc-attack">Mother of Satan</a>,&#8221; on a street near the mayor&#8217;s residence during an anti-Islam demonstration led by far-Right activist Jake Lang in March. Balat and Kayumi pleaded not guilty in a federal courtroom, appearing in handcuffs and wearing tan jumpsuits, Gothamist <a href="https://gothamist.com/news/teens-plead-not-guilty-to-islamic-state-inspired-plot-near-gracie-mansion">reported</a>.
According to the indictment, investigators obtained dashcam footage from the vehicle that Balat and Kayumi drove from their suburban Pennsylvania home to New York City.
“Just can’t wait for that bomb to go off and his [i.e., Individual-1’s] freaking head, his body to get split in half, bro, dead,” Balat is heard saying on the recording, according to the indictment. Prosecutors indicated the remark was likely directed at Lang. Balat also allegedly discussed targeting both government officials and civilians.
“All I know is I want to start terror, bro,” Kayumi allegedly told Balat, according to court documents.
If convicted, both Balat and Kayumi face life in prison.
Federal prosecutors told the judge on Wednesday that they are preparing &#8220;voluminous&#8221; discovery materials. The two teens are scheduled to appear in court again on May 16.
The demonstration outside of Gracie Mansion in early March drew more than 100 protesters and counterprotesters. Authorities say Balat threw a bomb toward the far-Right protesters, but it did not detonate. He allegedly attempted to deploy a second bomb before dropping it and fleeing the scene. An NYPD officer was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hero-nypd-chief-seen-chasing-isis-terror-suspects-relives-his-split-second-decision">hailed</a> for quickly jumping into action to chase down Balat and apprehend him.
Authorities later recovered a third improvised device from a nearby car, which contained traces of triacetone triperoxide, a highly volatile explosive compound commonly referred to as the &#8220;Mother of Satan.&#8221;
Investigators allege Balat pledged allegiance to ISIS during interrogations, while Kayumi told authorities he had watched ISIS propaganda, CBS News reported. The two had also recently spent time in Turkey, and Kayumi flew to Saudi Arabia in 2024, <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/03/08/us-news/self-radicalized-isis-supporters-used-explosive-called-mother-of-satan-inside-bombs-thrown-at-gracie-mansion-protest-sources/">according</a> to the New York Post.
&#8220;This was a planned attack motivated by extremist ideology and inspired by a violent, foreign terrorist organization,&#8221; NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said in March.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani called the attempted bombing &#8220;reprehensible,&#8221; but not before he condemned the far-Right protesters for demonstrating.
&#8220;White supremacist Jake Lang organized a protest outside Gracie Mansion rooted in bigotry and racism. Such hate has no place in New York City. It is an affront to our city’s values and the unity that defines who we are,&#8221; Mamdani <a href="https://www.nyc.gov/mayors-office/news/2026/03/statement-from-mayor-zohran-kwame-mamdani-on-protests-outside-of">said</a> one day after the attempted attack. &#8220;What followed was even more disturbing. Violence at a protest is never acceptable. The attempt to use an explosive device and hurt others is not only criminal, it is reprehensible and the antithesis of who we are.&#8221;

Teens Accused Of ISIS-Inspired Terror Plot Against NYC Protesters Enter Their Official Pleas

Eight years ago, 14-year-old Leah Sharibu was kidnapped from her school in northern Nigeria by Islamic militants and dragged into captivity. She remains in captivity to this day because she refuses to renounce her Christian faith. 
Last month, the anniversary of her kidnapping received little acknowledgement except from a number of persecution watchdog organizations. While many have forgotten her story, Sharibu’s absence is felt every day by her family, who have not heard from her since the day of the kidnapping in February 2018. 
Sharibu was kidnapped by the Islamic State-West Africa Province (ISWAP) alongside 104 other girls from the Government Girls Science and Technical School in Yobe State on February 19, 2018. While most of the other girls have since been released, Sharibu has not been let go because she refuses to convert to Islam.  
Ryan Brown, the CEO of persecution watchdog Open Doors, told The Daily Wire that Sharibu was the only Christian in the group of kidnapped girls and was singled out because of her faith. Open Doors keeps in regular contact with Sharibu’s family and helps them celebrate her birthday every year. 
“With so much going on in our world, it&#8217;s easy to forget these things. It&#8217;s easy to move on to the next headline,&#8221; he said. &#8220;But for those that had been personally touched by these things, they can&#8217;t move on.&#8221;

Some reports suggest that Sharibu has been forced into marriages with her captors and had children, but those are difficult to confirm. Another woman kidnapped by Islamic militants who later escaped in 2024 confirmed that she encountered Sharibu during her time in captivity. 
Sharibu&#8217;s family says that the Nigerian government has done little to get her released, Brown told The Daily Wire.
“There have been Nigerian officials that have communicated and attempted to see Leah released and have said that they will do that, but the family has not been able to see any visible evidence that there&#8217;s been anything other than promises that were made. And so that has been a source of confusion and pain,” he said. 
The Islamic State-West Africa Province broke off from the militant Islamic group Boko Haram in 2015 and has since displaced or killed thousands in and around Nigeria, <a href="https://www.dni.gov/nctc/terrorist_groups/isis_west_africa.html">according</a> to American intelligence. The group has between 4,000 and 7,000 members and carries out military-style bombings, kidnappings, and targeted killings. 
Sharibu’s continued captivity is a brutal reminder of the reality many Christians face in Nigeria despite the government’s assurances that it protects Christians from violent attacks. 
Brown praised the Trump administration for <a href="https://www.uscirf.gov/news-room/releases-statements/naming-nigeria-country-particular-concern-important-step-advance">designating</a> Nigeria as a country of particular concern over Christian persecution in November 2025. Shortly after, on Christmas Day, President Donald Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-strikes-isis-targets-in-nigeria-on-christmas-day">ordered strikes</a> on ISIS targets in Nigeria, calling for the terrorists to stop “slaughtering of Christians.”
Brown said the problem of Christian persecution is real in Nigeria and that the government’s denial of the problem is inaccurate. He said there were examples of villages targeted by militants where all the churches were burned down, but the mosques were left standing. Even if there were arrests for violent acts, Brown said there were rarely prosecutions. 
“It&#8217;s difficult for any of us to know exactly what is going on there, but the end result is that whether it&#8217;s through omission or commission, there&#8217;s still a responsibility,” he said. “The Nigerian government needs to address those things, it needs to be able to respond to those types of situations.”
Facing increasing pressure from the Trump administration, Brown said that it looks like some of the militants behind killings of Christians over the summer might be prosecuted. 
“That is a huge step forward and one that we continue to advocate for and to ask the Nigerian government to not allow these individuals to act with impunity to make sure that there&#8217;s accountability for these acts of aggression,” he said. 
With growing pressure over its handling of Christian persecution, the Nigerian government has hired lobbyists to convince the American government that it is taking appropriate action to protect Christians. 
In December 2025, the DCI Group <a href="https://www.scribd.com/document/1011620908/6278-Exhibit-AB-20251218-30">registered</a> with the Justice Department, notifying it that it was assisting the Nigerian government in “communicating its actions to protect Nigerian’s Christian communities and maintaining U.S support in countering West African jihadist groups and other destabilizing elements.”
Nigeria agreed to pay the consulting firm millions to resurrect its damaged image. So far, DCI has created pages called Secure Nigeria HQ across <a href="https://efile.fara.gov/docs/6278-Informational-Materials-20260311-8.pdf">X</a>, <a href="https://efile.fara.gov/docs/6278-Informational-Materials-20260311-7.pdf">Instagram</a>, and <a href="https://efile.fara.gov/docs/6278-Informational-Materials-20260311-3.pdf">Facebook</a>, according to filings with the Justice Department. The social media profiles have not yet been made public.

Despite the efforts of the Nigerian government, the number of religious killings and kidnappings paints a more troubled picture. Of the 3,302 religiously motivated kidnappings that took place in 2025, 2,293 took place in Nigeria, Brown told The Daily Wire. 
Brown called for Americans to remember Sharibu’s parents in their prayers. 
“Knowing that there are others around the world that have not forgotten her daughter, that have not forgotten over this period of eight years, that her daughter has likely experienced a hell on earth, and to know that there are others who remember and that are continuing to lift [her] up in prayer, there is just such incredible encouragement.”

The Department of Justice charged the man accused of selling a firearm to the Old Dominion University shooter, who had already been convicted of supporting terrorism.

Chapman told authorities that he had no idea Jalloh planned to carry out the attack, the news outlet reported. He faces charges for making a false statement during a firearm purchase and engaging in the business of firearms dealing without a license.
Chapman said he stole the gun from a car in Newport News, Virginia, about a year ago, before he recently sold it to Jalloh, the Associated Press reported. After the pair met at work, Jalloh told Chapman he needed a gun for protection as a delivery driver. Chapman said he knew Jalloh was previously incarcerated, but claimed he didn&#8217;t know of his past felony conviction.
It&#8217;s not the first time Chapman has been the subject of a federal investigation, according to the Associated Press. In 2021, federal authorities issued Chapman a &#8220;straw purchaser warning letter.&#8221;
Chapman later sent an apology letter admitting to selling guns to buyers who intended to give the firearms to people who can&#8217;t legally purchase them, per the AP.
The serial number on the gun Jalloh allegedly used Thursday was partially destroyed. Authorities combed through phone records, finding that Chapman and Jalloh had multiple calls in the week before the shooting.
For his terrorism case, Jalloh was sentenced to 11 years behind bars and an additional five years of supervised release. He was released early in 2024 for completing a drug program, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/jalloh-old-dominion-university-shooting-islamic-state-b257727b0167982fbffafae2eb8548fd" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the AP.
He was convicted after traveling to Africa with his father in 2015, where he met with an ISIS recruiter, according to NBC4. He later went to Sierra Leone to stay with the group’s facilitator and made plans to visit Libya to join the terrorist organization, but that never happened.
He also went to Niger to join ISIS and even boarded a truck full of other terror recruits, but bailed out after 18 hours, according to NBC4.
At one point, he sent $500 to a man he believed was an ISIS member, who was actually an undercover FBI agent.
In October 2016, Jalloh pleaded guilty to attempting to provide material support to ISIS.
Jalloh, who is a naturalized American citizen from Sierra Leone, stormed the ROTC classroom Thursday, shooting the professor several times, according to the New York Post.
The instructor died at the hospital, according to the news outlet.
&#8220;A group of brave students &#8230; stepped in and subdued&#8221; Jalloh, FBI Director Kash Patel said Thursday.
“The FBI is now investigating the shooting as an act of terrorism. Our Joint Terrorism Task Force is fully engaged, embedded with local authorities, and providing all resources necessary in the investigation,” Patel said.
The attack happened hours before a man rammed a vehicle into a Michigan synagogue and opened fire on the building before meeting his demise.

And if America ignores the very real problem of radical Islam, and you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, you&#8217;ll end up dead. 
That is the message across America for the last couple of weeks, and it&#8217;s coming in loud and clear.
Yesterday alone, there were two Islamic terror attacks. The first happened at Old Dominion in Virginia, when ISIS-linked Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, 26, stormed a classroom and demanded to know if it was an ROTC class. He then shouted — wait for it — “Allahu akbar!”
I know: you&#8217;re shocked.
He shot and killed the professor, Army Lt. Col. Brandon A. Shah, a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Atlantic Resolve, before a group of heroic cadets jumped into action and stabbed Jalloh to death.
So who was the terrorist? According to the New York Post, he was a naturalized citizen from Sierra Leone and a former Virginia National Guard member.
Were there any red flags? Just a few.

Fox News reports that Jalloh was forced to leave the military after he tried to provide material support to ISIS. He was a follower of Anwar al Awlaki, the now-dead leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
The DOJ prosecution documents show Jalloh praised a July 2015 terror attack in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in which a radical Islamist killed four Marines and a Navy sailor. He was actually arrested in 2016 after attempting to buy an assault rifle in Northern Virginia and then sentenced to 11 years in prison. Then he was released just 15 months ago for good behavior.
Good behavior.
So we released an actual, honest-to-God, ISIS-affiliated terrorist into the population for “good behavior.” Did he drop his terror support somehow? If so, what was the evidence that he had? Why did America owe him a free run of the country after he decided to side with an actual, honest-to-God terrorist group?
It should be noted that Jalloh received the victim treatment from leftists in the media. In 2016, The Intercept, a far-left publication, printed a sympathetic piece quoting his family, who said he was set up by the FBI. His brother told The Intercept that Jalloh was just another “Mohammad” who got set up.
The problem, you see, was really Islamophobia. Never radical Islam, just Islamophobia.
So was that attack at Old Dominion the only radical Islamic terror attack of the day? Of course not. Halfway across the country, at one of the biggest Reform Jewish synagogues in America, a radical Muslim suspect named Ayman Mohamed Ghazali, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Lebanon who received a visa as the spouse of a U.S. citizen and was naturalized under the Obama administration, tried to drive an explosive-laden car into the entrance of a preschool with 140 students in attendance. 
According to the New York Post, “He barreled down the hallway before security opened fire, killing the suspect.” That attack started a fire in the building. The driver was killed while he was in the car. Police found in the car a rifle and mortar shells.
The suspect allegedly came from Dearborn Heights, Michigan. The synagogue was located 20 miles north of Dearborn, an Islam-dominated city represented in Congress by radical Islamic terror apologist Rashida Tlaib.
How radicalized is Dearborn? In recent days, some Dearborn mosques have been praising Ayatollah Khamenei. In 2025, the city decided to honor terror-supporting activist Osama Siblani with a street sign. Siblani is a radical Muslim who openly speaks of his pride in terror leaders like deceased Hezbollah head Hassan Nasrallah, whom he called a great leader, saying he was “proud” of him. He also advocated for Hezbollah to make Israel “taste the Lebanon poison.”
When a resident of Dearborn showed up at a city council meeting to protest naming a street after this radical Islamist, the mayor of Dearborn told him to get out of the city and then called him — wait for it — wait for it — wait for it — an Islamophobe.
Unsurprisingly, there were some people in the media who found excuses for the terror attack at the synagogue. Over on GB News, one commentator explained that this was an “Israeli temple” and thus presumably deserving of its fate. The argument here seems to be that if you are a pro-Israel Jew in the United States, then it&#8217;s totally fine for a terrorist to drive a car laden with explosives into your synagogue.
Ryan Grim, formerly of The Intercept, reported that the terrorist had family members recently killed by Israel and its current action against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Even if that&#8217;s true, it makes for a rather strange defense of these terrorist actions. The mass murder of 1,200 Jews on October 7 in Israel has caused precisely zero Jews, zero, to drive an explosives-laden car into a mosque or near a Muslim school.
There&#8217;s just something about radical Islam that isn&#8217;t quite the same.
Of course, as we have been following, the two attacks yesterday were not the first attacks of the last few weeks. Last week, we reported on a radical Islamic terror attack in Austin, Texas, in which a 53-year-old Senegalese immigrant to the United States killed three people and wounded 13 more. He happened to be wearing a sweatshirt that read —wait for it, wait for it — “Property of Allah.”
I know, you&#8217;re shocked.
Over the last weekend, we saw two ISIS-affiliated radical Muslims throw IEDs at a rally outside Gracie Mansion, all of which led the mayor of New York to spend extraordinary efforts condemning — wait for it, wait for it, you&#8217;re not going to believe it — Islamophobia.
How does this radical ideology spread in America?
The answer is twofold. First, we import people who are sympathetic to terrorism, and then addle-pated Americans argue that they ought to be mainstreamed.
That&#8217;s how you end up with Zohran Mamdani — yes, he is a terrorist supporter — as mayor of New York. It&#8217;s how Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar end up in Congress.
What should we do about it? First, we can stop future immigration from radical Islamic countries and other third-world areas where we can&#8217;t vet our immigrants at the source. You cannot import problems from other parts of the world, require zero assimilation, and then pretend that the big issue is “Islamophobia.”
Unfortunately, there are people dedicated to forcing our border wide open.
Secondly, we ought to enforce the law to revoke the citizenship of people who associate with terrorist groups or who favor totalitarian forms of government. That is, in fact, the law under title VIII, U.S. code, section 1484.
If enforced properly, this would mean revocation of citizenship for a wide variety of radical Islamists living in the United States right now. This law is difficult to enforce; it requires a high degree of evidentiary demonstration. But that degree ought to be met when you affiliate with an actual terrorist group, and if it is not, then the law itself ought to be changed to allow for revocation of such citizenship.
It is not our duty to people who seek to destroy America in the name of radical Islam.
Until the law is either enforced to the letter or changed, we have an enormous number of people in the United States who are devotees of radical Islam. What&#8217;s more, we&#8217;ve been told by one entire political party that mentioning this inconvenient fact is tantamount to Islamophobia.

On Thursday, Mohamed Bailor Jalloh — an ex-National Guard soldier previously convicted of terrorism charges — opened fire at Old Dominion University, killing a decorated service member.
Jalloh, originally from Sierra Leone, is the latest naturalized American citizen to commit a violent attack in the United States. There have been at least three attacks carried out by naturalized citizens in the last two weeks, leading many to call for a change to the naturalization process that allows these attackers into the country.
It&#8217;s not that simple.
&#8220;If a naturalized U.S. citizen commits a heinous act of terrorism, that&#8217;s not a way to take away somebody&#8217;s [citizenship],&#8221; immigration attorney Matthew Kolken told The Daily Wire. &#8220;They&#8217;ve done everything right from an immigration standpoint.&#8221;
&#8220;The law does not allow you to just take away someone&#8217;s citizenship. They can be convicted of a crime and go to jail for the rest of their life, but they&#8217;ll die a United States citizen,&#8221; Kolken said.
Jalloh, for instance, was sentenced to 11 years in prison with another five years of supervised release in his terrorism case and was let out early in December 2024, according to the New York Post.
If the feds wanted to denaturalize Jalloh, they would&#8217;ve had to have found evidence of &#8220;fraud&#8221; tied to his immigration case.
&#8220;We&#8217;re not talking about a crime, we&#8217;re talking about an immigration law violation,&#8221; Kolken said.
&#8220;Even though you want to the United States wants to denaturalize somebody because they engaged in an act of terrorism and murdered people in this country, the way that you would effectuate a denaturalization is if you discover a fraud that was not disclosed in furtherance of their immigration journey,&#8221; Kolken said.

In addition to committing immigration fraud, an individual can become denaturalized if they join the Communist Party or another &#8220;subversive organization&#8221; within five years of gaining citizenship, George Fishman, senior fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, said.
But Fishman warned that denaturalization is &#8220;tough,&#8221; adding that in Jalloh&#8217;s case, &#8220;unless the government can come up with evidence that he lied, he concealed a material fact during his naturalization, I&#8217;m not sure there&#8217;s really a viable way forward.&#8221;
Naturalized citizens can also lose their citizenship if they are discharged from the military &#8220;under other than honorable conditions&#8221; after obtaining citizenship based on their military service, according to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. They must have been discharged before having served honorably for &#8220;at least five years.&#8221;
The federal government naturalized 818,500 new citizens in fiscal year 2024, which ran between October 2023 and September 2024, according to federal data.
With the mountain of cases, it may be difficult to go back and audit those who&#8217;ve already been naturalized, Fishman said, adding that the federal government should &#8220;be much more deliberative in deciding whether to naturalize someone in the first place.&#8221;
For any future cases, Congress &#8220;could &#8230; toughen the standards for naturalization,&#8221; Fishman said.
Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt (R) has introduced legislation to make it easier for the United States to denaturalize immigrants who pose a national security threat.
His proposed legislation, the Stop Citizenship Abuse and Misrepresentation (SCAM) Act, seeks to denaturalize those who commit welfare fraud, aggravated felonies, and espionage. It also applies to individuals with ties to drug cartels or foreign terrorist groups.
&#8220;We must denaturalize those who shouldn&#8217;t be here,&#8221; Schmitt said on X Thursday.

A bomb threat affecting two libraries at the University of Virginia was cleared after a three-hour police investigation on Friday. The threat came just one day after an ISIS-supporting terrorist shot three people, killing one, across the state at Old Dominion University.
University of Virginia police <a href="https://x.com/UVAPolice/status/2032469083707342863">told</a> people to &#8220;avoid the area&#8221; at Shannon Library on the Charlottesville campus just before 10:50 a.m. over reports of a bomb threat. The university&#8217;s Department of Safety and Security later <a href="https://x.com/UVASafety/status/2032471777801043981">added</a> that authorities were &#8220;investigating evacuating both Clemmons and Shannon Libraries.&#8221; The libraries are across the street from each other.
University authorities <a href="https://x.com/UVASafety/status/2032512601624568026">said</a> at 1:42 p.m. ET that the threat was &#8220;cleared&#8221; and &#8220;no device&#8221; was found on campus.
&#8220;Shannon and Clemons Libraries are returning to normal operations. You may resume normal activity. No further updates,&#8221; the Department of Safety and Security said.

A heated debate over public schools in the South Carolina House of Representatives took a dramatic turn this week when a Democratic lawmaker referred to the parental advocacy group Moms for Liberty as a “terrorist group” during remarks on the House floor.
The comment came from Gilda Cobb-Hunter, a longtime Democratic representative from Orangeburg, during a broader debate about the state’s public school system and education policy. “We as a state are running headfirst, headlong, into a public school crisis,” Cobb-Hunter said during her floor speech, criticizing the direction of education policy in South Carolina.
