She helped an illegal immigrant sneak out of a courthouse where Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were waiting to carry out an arrest. Despite being convicted, the former Wisconsin judge was just spared from serving time in prison.
At a sentencing hearing Wednesday, former Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan received no prison time and was instead ordered to pay a $5,000 fine, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/legal/government/ex-wisconsin-judge-be-sentenced-obstructing-immigration-arrest-2026-07-08/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to Reuters.
U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman noted Dugan&#8217;s long history of public service in deciding to ​spare Dugan from prison, the outlet reported.
&#8220;The punishment should fit the offender, and not merely the crime,&#8221; Adelman ⁠said, adding that Dugan &#8220;made a bad decision in the moment.&#8221;
The lenient punishment stems from an incident where <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-leftist-wisconsin-judge-caught-hiding-illegal-from-ice-was-just-convicted">ICE agents showed up</a> to Dugan&#8217;s courthouse in April 2025 to arrest a previously deported illegal immigrant with a rap sheet.
Dugan directed the officers to the chief judge’s chambers before returning to her courtroom and instructing Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, who was charged in Milwaukee with three counts of battery, domestic abuse, and infliction of physical pain or injury, to exit through the “jury door” into a nonpublic area of the courthouse.
The ICE team later located Flores-Ruiz outside the building and arrested him following a foot chase.
When Dugan learned of the agents&#8217; presence, she grew &#8220;visibly angry,&#8221; calling the situation &#8220;absurd,&#8221; according to investigators.
A jury found Dugan guilty of felony obstruction in December, but cleared her of a lesser charge of concealing a person from arrest.
Federal guidelines recommended between 15 and 21 months in prison in Dugan&#8217;s case, prosecutors argued.
“Rather than uphold the rule of law, the defendant used the power and prestige of judicial office to obstruct federal agents carrying out their lawful duties in order to ​help an individual evade arrest,” ​prosecutors wrote in a sentencing ⁠memorandum, adding that she should receive a sentence that reflects the “serious nature of her conduct and its broader impact on the justice system.&#8221;

You’d think that the U.S. government was running Cambodian-style killing fields, or at best Chinese-style <a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.cfr.org/backgrounders/china-xinjiang-uyghurs-muslims-repression-genocide-human-rights__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!2M0_bUL7FV4pC5NfnvT71mH3Llf-e7iCW1or6hwfvA4ars9RBsqYvhIPratp5CCDDw4YlSWeal5stqgMRJjJ7Bf6GYw$">“re-education” camps</a> with poor regard for the inhabitants.
The truth is, aliens detained under U.S. immigration law are unusually safe. ICE detention is highly regulated, and Department of Homeland Security officers follow strict rules to protect detainees.
The latest media freak-out was perhaps sparked by a <a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://phr.org/news/us-deaths-in-ice-custody-surge-under-trump/__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!2M0_bUL7FV4pC5NfnvT71mH3Llf-e7iCW1or6hwfvA4ars9RBsqYvhIPratp5CCDDw4YlSWeal5stqgMRJjJ7tn3wrM$">report</a> from Physicians for Human Rights, a group that believes “seeking asylum from persecution is a human right.” But do they believe in repatriating those whose claims are denied? I doubt it.
The group’s globalist viewpoint is evident in their videos, such as “The U.S. made an elective decision to traumatize children,” and “How Title 42 expulsions harm health and violate rights.” In fact, the decision to traumatize children was made by their parents and the alien smugglers who made them cross into this country illegally and alone and often released them to strangers. And Title 42 is a law that expressly protects America from contagious disease.
No one wants deaths in schools, workplaces, trains, planes, automobiles, or detention facilities. But they happen. The question is, at what rate? Are they preventable?
Thousands of people die in U.S. prisons and jails each year from heart attacks, cancer, disease, drugs, suicide, violence, and other causes. In 2019, there were 381 <a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://bjs.ojp.gov/content/pub/pdf/msfp0119st.pdf__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!2M0_bUL7FV4pC5NfnvT71mH3Llf-e7iCW1or6hwfvA4ars9RBsqYvhIPratp5CCDDw4YlSWeal5stqgMRJjJ8Uzym2w$">deaths</a> in federal prisons, which is 259/100,000. There were 3,853 deaths in state prisons that year, which is 330/100,000.
The death rate in ICE detention is a fraction of that. There are now around 60,000 people in immigration detention, double the number under Biden, but down from the peak of 73,000 earlier this year. Last year, at most 38 people <a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.hrw.org/report/2026/06/25/dying-in-detention/rising-deaths-in-an-expanding-us-immigration-detention-system__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!2M0_bUL7FV4pC5NfnvT71mH3Llf-e7iCW1or6hwfvA4ars9RBsqYvhIPratp5CCDDw4YlSWeal5stqgMRJjJPM-Fl3o$">died</a> in ICE custody. That’s 63/100,000 – about a quarter of the rate that die in federal prisons and a sixth of those who die in state prisons.
In England and Wales, the <a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/safety-in-custody-quarterly-update-to-december-2025/safety-in-custody-statistics-england-and-wales-deaths-in-prison-custody-to-march-2026-assaults-and-self-harm-to-december-2025__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!2M0_bUL7FV4pC5NfnvT71mH3Llf-e7iCW1or6hwfvA4ars9RBsqYvhIPratp5CCDDw4YlSWeal5stqgMRJjJpPPlJfk$">death rate among prisoners</a> is over 400/100,000 – about seven times the rate at which people die in ICE custody. Is Mr. Türk “alarmed” at that? Calling for “<a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2026/06/us-turk-alarmed-deaths-ice-custody-calls-urgent-preventive-action__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!2M0_bUL7FV4pC5NfnvT71mH3Llf-e7iCW1or6hwfvA4ars9RBsqYvhIPratp5CCDDw4YlSWeal5stqgMRJjJtq-f7YE$">urgent preventive action</a>?” No.
In 1978, there were 59 deaths in England and Wales out of 49,500 inmates. In 2025, there were 394 deaths out of 97,400. Why did the prison population only double, but <a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://howardleague.org/news/revealed-the-rising-death-toll-in-prisons-in-england-and-wales/__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!2M0_bUL7FV4pC5NfnvT71mH3Llf-e7iCW1or6hwfvA4ars9RBsqYvhIPratp5CCDDw4YlSWeal5stqgMRJjJrVd-0ww$">prison deaths rise</a> by a factor of roughly seven? Surely the UN wants to know? Probably not. Because Trump can’t be blamed.
The easiest way to avoid detention is for illegal aliens to go home. There are about 7.3 million aliens on ICE’s Non-Detained Docket, meaning they have an ongoing case where they are probably trying to avoid being deported. Of these, at least 1.6 million have Final Orders for Removal, meaning they have had their day in court, appeals, and all “due process” – yet they remain. And 660,000 of them have criminal convictions or pending criminal charges on top of being here illegally.
ICE is keeping tabs on only around 180,000 of the 7.3 million using “Alternatives to Detention,” and only a tiny fraction wear wrist or ankle monitors – the rest are expected to phone in when asked. If they don’t, ICE has to find them, detain them, and then deport them.
Biden hamstrung ICE with red tape, but now that the government is taking its statutory duties seriously, the globalists are crying foul. The truth is, they don’t want any immigration detention because it often results in deportation. Obstructing deportation is the real agenda. Making false claims about detention conditions is the age-old tool globalists use to accomplish their agenda.
One more thing the media overlooks is how many deaths detaining those 60,000 people likely prevented. The <a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/murder-rate-by-country__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!2M0_bUL7FV4pC5NfnvT71mH3Llf-e7iCW1or6hwfvA4ars9RBsqYvhIPratp5CCDDw4YlSWeal5stqgMRJjJnO5kTbQ$">murder rate</a> in the U.S. is 5/100,000. In Jamaica, it is 24/100,000. If, hypothetically, ICE detainees had the same murder rate as Jamaica, that would save 15 innocent lives per year. There are about 40 rapes per 100,000 in the US each year. So detaining 60,000 illegal aliens could have prevented at least 25 rapes. That doesn’t count Americans spared death or injury from drunk driving, assault, or robbery caused by illegal aliens.
Those numbers assume that the rates of criminality in the detained population are at U.S. national averages. But we know criminality varies dramatically by country of origin. In <a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12662818/__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!2M0_bUL7FV4pC5NfnvT71mH3Llf-e7iCW1or6hwfvA4ars9RBsqYvhIPratp5CCDDw4YlSWeal5stqgMRJjJVO_8b34$">Sweden</a>, 63% of sex crime convicts were first or second-generation immigrants.
The UN and legacy U.S. media are wildly spinning statistics that actually make ICE look good. That is because, like many politicians and left-wing activists, they want zero immigration enforcement. They focus on tragic but comparatively small numbers of deaths in custody, rather than the much larger salutary impact on U.S. public safety, infrastructure, and the labor market.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is looking to deport an illegal immigrant semi-truck driver who allegedly killed a Pennsylvania State Trooper in a devastating crash.
Haitian national Michael Bon allegedly struck and killed Pennsylvania State Trooper Michael Pahira Jr., 44, while he was inspecting a vehicle on the shoulder of Interstate 81 in Cass Township last Wednesday morning. ICE has since filed a detainer asking local authorities to hand Bon over for deportation, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2026/07/06/ice-lodges-detainer-haitian-illegal-alien-arrested-after-semi-truck-crash-killed" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> Monday.
Bon allegedly struck Pahira and dragged him under the truck &#8220;for quite some distance down the road&#8221; as it caught fire, Lieutenant Colonel George Bivens <a href="https://pacast.com/m?p=29678" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> during a recent press conference.
Both vehicles burst into flames at the scene of the collision. Pahira later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The 20-year state police veteran had just moved back in with his parents to care for his mother, who is battling cancer, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said during the press conference.
&#8220;The man died a hero,&#8221; Bivens said. &#8220;He was an outstanding trooper, an excellent motor carrier enforcement officer &#8230; had been doing it for a number of years and was considered to be one of our best.&#8221;

The Biden administration released Bon into the United States in July 2024 under its signature humanitarian parole program that allowed certain migrants to fly directly to the United States to bypass the border, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/illegal-immigrant-truck-driver-charged-death-trooper-who-moved-home-care-mom-cancer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to Fox News. He later applied for Temporary Protected Status, but was denied the deportation shield, DHS said.
Federal authorities terminated Bon&#8217;s parole status in June 2025, ordering him to leave the United States, according to Fox News. Still, Bon remained.
He obtained a Massachusetts commercial driver&#8217;s license in March 2025, which was renewed in February 2026, Fox News reported.
“This Haitian illegal alien was RELEASED into our country by the Biden Administration, and the sanctuary state of Massachusetts gave him a Commercial Driver’s License,” Acting Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement Monday.
“Now, because of these reckless policies, a Pennsylvania State Trooper is dead after a crash that was 100% preventable. Illegal aliens should not be driving trucks on America’s highways. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and the Pennsylvania State Police as they mourn this loss,&#8221; Bis added.
Authorities charged Bon with vehicular homicide and involuntary manslaughter, <a href="https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/pennsylvania-trooper-hit-killed-by-tractor-trailer-on-i-81/ar-AA26ZHKM?ocid=BingNewsSerp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to CBS Pittsburgh. He is being held on $700,000 bail at Schuylkill County Prison, according to Fox News.
Following a series of recent crashes involving illegal immigrant truckers, the Trump administration has tightened restrictions on the issuance of commercial driver&#8217;s licenses.
Among those actions, the Department of Transportation has pushed to enforce English language requirements for truckers and has threatened to withhold federal funding from states issuing licenses to illegal aliens.
&#8220;These senseless tragedies are why I am working my heart out to change the policies that encouraged illegal drivers, enabled shady trucker schools, and drove down the wages for American truckers,&#8221; Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said in an X post after the latest fatal crash.

The White House is renewing the pressure on federal immigration agents to massively increase arrest numbers.
Multiple Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) sources told The Daily Wire that they&#8217;re back to working seven days a week as the Trump administration pushes for higher arrest numbers. ICE made more than 10,000 arrests during a recent five-day period, The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/01/us/politics/ice-immigrant-arrests-surge.html?unlocked_article_code=1.ulA.4-MU.0gsS0EAOfQGH&amp;smid=nytcore-ios-share" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> Wednesday.
Over the weekend, ICE agents across the country were &#8220;called into work on a mandatory 100% manpower work week surge effort,&#8221; one agency source said, adding that the &#8220;huge effort&#8221; was &#8220;pushed super last minute, destroying officers&#8217; personal lives in the meantime.&#8221;
The all-gas, no-brakes approach is &#8220;exhausting,&#8221; another agency source said.

The goal of the new effort is to sustain 2,000 arrests per day, up from 1,000 earlier this year, according to The New York Times.
A White House official confirmed that &#8220;numbers&#8221; are &#8220;increasing&#8221; as a &#8220;result of continued work by the administration on many different fronts.&#8221;
&#8220;Of course, the White House works with their partners at different agencies to ensure the President’s agenda is being enacted. At the same time, the Secure America Act guaranteed funding for 3 years, hiring has continued to increase, the immigration courts are more streamlined, and ICE is operating more efficiently every day,&#8221; the official said.
ICE was instructed to focus on increasing arrest numbers under the leadership of then-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, leading to aggressive and flashy sweeps across cities like Minneapolis, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
When Markwayne Mullin took the helm at DHS, he indicated there would be a softer approach to how the agency carries out its mass deportation plan. The shift came after two fatal shootings of anti-ICE protesters in Minneapolis by federal immigration agents.
&#8220;We&#8217;re still enforcing immigration laws, we&#8217;re still deporting illegals that shouldn&#8217;t be here, we&#8217;re still going after the worst of the worst, but we&#8217;re doing it in a more quiet way because my goal in six months is to not have DHS on the lead story everyday,&#8221; Mullin said in April.

During a press conference Wednesday, Mullin <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj_pqoUGWpU&amp;source_ve_path=MjM4NTE&amp;embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fnews.dailywire.com%2F" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that arrests and deportations are surging.
&#8220;We&#8217;re seeing our arrest numbers come up, we&#8217;re seeing our deportation numbers continue to increase,&#8221; Mullin said. &#8220;Right now, we&#8217;re deporting on average over 3,000 individuals, actually the average has been for several weeks now over 3,200 individuals a day, 70% of those individuals we&#8217;re deporting have outstanding criminal charges on them or they&#8217;ve already been charged with a felony.&#8221;
&#8220;So when we go after the worst of the worst, which is exactly what we&#8217;re doing, we&#8217;re saving lives,&#8221; Mullin said.
In a statement, DHS said &#8220;since day one&#8221; they&#8217;ve been &#8220;delivering on President Trump’s promise to the American people to arrest and deport criminal illegal aliens including murderers, rapists, pedophiles, gang members, and terrorists.&#8221;
&#8220;Nearly 70% of ICE arrests are of illegal aliens charged or convicted of a crime in the U.S. More than 3 million illegal aliens are out of the country and counting. Our message is clear: if you come to our country illegally, we will find you, we will arrest you, and we will deport you,&#8221; an agency spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, ICE&#8217;s detention population increased by 4,000 detainees with the facilities holding more than 63,000 illegal immigrants as of Tuesday, The New York Times reported.
ICE leadership has applauded agency personnel for supporting the latest effort.
“I want to personally thank each of you for your extraordinary efforts this past weekend,” Marcos Charles, Executive Associate Director of ICE&#8217;s Enforcement and Removal Operations, wrote this week in an email to agency staff, according to The New York Times.
“Through your dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to our mission, enforcement and removal operations achieved remarkable operational results,&#8221; Charles wrote.
Last Year, White House adviser Stephen Miller instituted a 3,000 daily arrest quota for ICE, which tanked agency morale.
ICE has since more than doubled its staffing levels by hiring thousands of new officers. The agency has also received a flood of billions of dollars in funding.

An ICE officer saved a 6-year-old child from drowning by jumping into a Florida pool and performing emergency CPR.
The Department of Homeland Security said this week that Tampa ICE officer Gregory Simmonds saved a child last month who he found floating unconscious in a pool in Pasco County, Florida. After pulling the child from the pool, Simmonds gave the child CPR until he regained consciousness. 
“This officer swiftly sprung to action and delivered life-saving medical care to this 6-year-old who drowned,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “Our agents truly are the best of the best. They put their lives on the line to arrest the worst of the worst. Instead of demonizing ICE law enforcement, sanctuary politicians should be thanking them for removing criminals from their communities.&#8221;

Local authorities praised Simmonds for saving the child’s life.
“Due to his quick thinking, decisive actions and willingness to place himself into action during a critical incident, the child survived and is expected to make a full recovery,” said Corporal J. Leathers of the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. “His actions directly contributed to saving the life of the child and reflect exceptional courage and selflessness.”

The incident occurred on May 16. 
In a press release highlighting Simmonds’ actions, the Department of Homeland Security noted other examples of ICE officers taking heroic action. 
In March, an ICE officer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-ice-agent-saves-baby-who-stopped-breathing-in-tsa-line">performed</a> the Heimlich maneuver on a 1-year-old child who experienced a medical emergency and stopped breathing while at JFK International Airport in New York. Federal immigration agents captured the leader of two foreign terrorist organizations, who is accused of holding his own wife hostage after a chaotic car chase.
Felipe Linares De Oliveira Dell Aquilla, who goes by the moniker “Don,” led Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents on a chase through Mooresville, North Carolina, on June 5 before he crashed into stopped traffic and took off on foot, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2026/06/15/ice-arrests-illegal-alien-commander-foreign-terrorist-organization-who-held-his-own" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> Monday.
The agents eventually caught up to Aquilla, who was swiftly taken into custody. Aquilla, who hails from Brazil and is in the United States <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-ice-arrests-over-100-illegal-immigrants-in-weeklong-operation?author=Jennie+Taer&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=EXCLUSIVE%3A+ICE+Arrests+Over+100+Illegal+Immigrants+In+Weeklong+Operation">illegally</a>, is wanted in his home country for criminal association and extortion charges.
Aquilla previously served as the commander of two U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organizations, Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) and Comando Vermelho (CV), according to DHS. The State Department <a href="https://www.state.gov/releases/office-of-the-spokesperson/2026/05/terrorist-designation-of-comando-vermelho-and-primeiro-comando-da-capital" target="_blank" rel="noopener">classifies</a> the groups as &#8220;two of the most violent criminal organizations in Brazil,&#8221; saying they&#8217;ve &#8220;orchestrated brutal attacks against Brazilian police officers, public officials, and civilians.&#8221;
Law enforcement intelligence indicated that Aquilla was holding his own wife hostage as he was preparing to flee to Mexico, DHS said. During an interview with authorities, Aquilla&#8217;s wife confirmed that she had been held against her will.
Agents found numerous cell phones, laptops, money, and a 9mm handgun while searching Aquilla&#8217;s car.
“This arrest demonstrates the unwavering commitment of HSI to protect our communities from dangerous international criminals,&#8221; Mark M. Zito, Special Agent in Charge of HSI in North and South Carolina, said in a statement. &#8220;By removing a known leader of violent foreign terrorist organizations—wanted for serious crimes including criminal association and extortion—we have prevented further harm to innocent people here and abroad.&#8221;
&#8220;Our agents, working alongside dedicated state and local law enforcement partners, acted swiftly and decisively to ensure this individual will no longer threaten the safety of our neighborhoods. HSI will continue to pursue those who endanger our communities and bring them to justice,&#8221; Zito added.
Aquilla snuck across the border at an unknown time when he entered the United States.

The White House issued a response to pop singer Ariana Grande on Thursday after she slammed the Trump administration for using one of her songs in a social media video about ICE arrests.

This was in response to the “Wicked” actress commenting on a TikTok video put out by the White House by saying, &#8220;please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. f*ck ice.&#8221;

“I want to check in with trump voters. I have one very genuine question: it’s been 250 days. The House passed the Secure America Act on Tuesday in a razor-thin 214–212 vote that delivers a whopping $70 billion immigration enforcement package — including $38 billion for ICE and $26 billion for Customs and Border Protection.
Not one Democrat voted yes.
Republicans wasted zero time going for the jugular.
&#8220;House Democrats&#8217; main constituency is illegal immigrants and criminals,&#8221; blasted RNC Chairman Joe Gruters. &#8220;Democrats have now voted dozens of times against funding ICE, Border Patrol, and DHS, repeatedly siding with open borders over law and order.&#8221;
House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington (R-TX) was equally scorching. &#8220;For 76 days, Democrats held the Department of Homeland Security hostage,&#8221; he fumed. &#8220;They walked away from the appropriations process, shut down Homeland Security operations, and used the safety of the American people as political leverage. Even today, every single House Democrat voted to defund ICE and Border Patrol.&#8221;
The GOP framed the Democratic no-votes as the latest chapter in what they called a relentless, systematic effort to kneecap President Donald Trump&#8217;s border security agenda. Republicans noted it marked the 37th time Senate and House Democrats have voted against border security measures — a stat they are clearly planning to weaponize heading into the midterms.
National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Mike Marinella didn&#8217;t exactly reach for diplomatic language either. &#8220;House Democrats just told every cop, every border agent, and every American family to drop dead,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Their soft-on-crime, open-border agenda has already devastated communities across the country, and they just proved they still haven&#8217;t learned a thing.&#8221;
Democrats tried to spin their unanimous &#8220;no&#8221; votes as something other than opposing immigration enforcement. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) argued the bill handed ICE a &#8220;blank check&#8221; with no &#8220;guardrails, oversight, or accountability.&#8221; One independent member also voted against the bill.
Republicans weren&#8217;t buying it for a second.
Arrington framed the bill&#8217;s passage as a direct mandate from voters. &#8220;The American people fundamentally rejected the chaos of the last four years,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They elected Republicans for the promise of secure borders, safer communities, and restoring rule of law. The Secure America Act makes good on that promise.&#8221;
The legislation now heads to President Trump&#8217;s desk, locking in ICE and Border Patrol funding through 2029 — a major win for a White House that has made border enforcement the centerpiece of its domestic agenda.

Facing increasing questions about his personal character, embattled Maine Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner is ramping up the leftist rhetoric. 
Platner posted a video on Thursday showing clips from a recent speech where he called for the abolition of ICE, claiming that the agency has been used to “terrorize&#8221; and &#8220;murder&#8221; Americans. The video comes after reports revealed that Platner sent sexually explicit messages to multiple women while married. He also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/see-it-graham-platner-has-active-profile-on-predators-paradise-messaging-app">maintained</a> an account on a platform frequently criticized by child-safety advocates, as first reported by The Daily Wire. 
“We do not need ICE. It is an agency that has been turned into a political weapon by the Trump administration to terrorize communities, and, quite frankly, murder American citizens in the streets,” Platner said.

“It has been turned into a tool, not to enforce immigration law, but merely as a tool of political coercion. And an agency that&#8217;s been doing that, in my opinion, does not deserve to exist in the future,” Platner added. 
While some Democrats have attempted to distance themselves from complete opposition to ICE, the agency in charge of arresting illegal immigrants who have committed crimes against Americans, Platner has doubled down on his calls to get rid of the agency. 
Platner is looking to be the Democrat nominee for Maine to take on Republican Senator Susan Collins. If elected, Platner said he would never vote to fund the agency and work to “get rid of it entirely.” 
“If an agency has a culture in which it has no accountability, and people are essentially incentivized to go out of their way and break the rules, you can&#8217;t reform that,” he said. “There&#8217;s no amount of body cams or extra training that&#8217;s going to fix that. You need to get rid of it all and you just start over entirely.”
In recent days, Platner’s campaign has been rocked by reports of his previous sexual escapades. On Tuesday, Platner <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/platner-promises-dem-senators-there-will-be-no-new-accusations">met</a> with top Senate Democrats who asked him if there would be any more serious allegations against him they needed to know about. He insisted that no credible allegations of sexual assault were forthcoming.
“It’s not a secret I’ve had a messy, complicated life,” he told senators. “The worst of the rumors we’ve all heard are not true.”

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers successfully hunted down an illegal immigrant convicted of attempted murder who had been roaming the country for years despite having a deportation order and a lengthy rap sheet, The Daily Wire has learned.
Dramatic footage of the May 5 raid showed ICE officers knocking on the door of Sudanese illegal immigrant Gabriel Maror Ayuel&#8217;s Nashville apartment before a man appeared at the door. The officers appeared to have a calm interaction with Ayuel before they took him away in handcuffs.
Ayuel received a conviction for first-degree attempted murder in Davidson County in 2003 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison, according to ICE.

He only served about nine years of his sentence, according to law enforcement sources. The reasoning for his shortened stint behind bars is not clear.
For months, ICE officers investigated his whereabouts and found him at his apartment in South Nashville. He later told the officers that he had just moved into the building the week before his arrest.
&#8220;The subject that we just arrested received a removal order about 20 years ago, continued to just remain here in the United States while he was committing those crimes,&#8221; one of the officers could be heard saying in the video of the raid as he sat in the driver&#8217;s seat.
Ayuel arrived in the United States in 1995 as a refugee, ICE said. While in the United States, he received his attempted murder conviction, and was also arrested for driving under the influence and failure to appear in Georgia, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felony possession of a prohibited weapon and felony flight to avoid prosecution in Tennessee.
While he was behind bars in July 2008, Ayuel received a deportation order, according to ICE. Despite that, he never left the country, which is considered a felony offense.
“Removing illegal aliens with serious criminal convictions from our communities is essential to protecting public safety,” ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations New Orleans acting Field Office Director Brian Acuna said in a statement shared with The Daily Wire.
“We are committed to enforcing immigration laws and prioritizing cases that pose a threat to our neighborhoods,&#8221; he added.
The Trump administration&#8217;s mass deportation effort has resulted in more than 641,000 arrests and over 800,000 deportations, White House border czar Tom Homan recently told the Washington Examiner.
ICE sources told The Daily Wire that there is a renewed pressure on the force to increase arrest numbers and work longer hours.

That came after Scelfo and an ICE deportation officer got into a &#8220;physical confrontation&#8221; involving the officer hitting him twice in the leg with a baton, according to the criminal complaint. 
The FBI said that it tracked down Scelfo based on witness interviews, records, video footage, and physical evidence. FBI Director Kash Patel said that facial recognition technology was used to identify Scelfo. 
After being arrested and interviewed by the FBI, Scelfo “admitted that he had been at the demonstration, had in fact made statements toward an officer including a threat to kill him and his family, and had later seen himself in a video that was in the media depicting him at that demonstration making statements toward law enforcement” according to the complaint. 
A lawyer for Scelfo is not listed in court documents. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted. 
“Federal law enforcement officers face danger with great courage, and they should be able to do their jobs without being threatened and fearing for their families’ lives,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. “We take such threats very seriously and will prosecute those who make them to the fullest extent of the law.”

Federal officials and Republicans have pushed back on those claims. 
Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) toured the facility on Monday and <a href="https://x.com/Congressman_JVD/status/2061558185073271026">said</a> he found it “clean, organized, and well-run.”
“Clean dorms. On-site doctors, nurses, and dentists. A law library. A regular library. A gym. A soccer field.
