<p>California has opened its tip line to report federal officers, as Democratic leaders in the state attempt to push back on immigration enforcement measures by the Trump administration.</p>
<p>“My office created a portal that will allow Californians to report misconduct by federal agents,” Attorney General Rob Bonta posted to X on Wednesday, asking people to send in a tip if they “believe a federal agent is abusing their power or acting unlawfully.”</p>
<p>“Federal agents have broad authority to enforce federal laws, but they must do so lawfully,” he added.</p>
<p>The webpage specifically names Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the National Guard as examples of entities that could be reported to the state. However, it disclaims that it cannot guarantee it will “take any action” on a report.</p>
<p>The move was quickly blasted by Republicans, as there is a limited scope of what a state government can do regarding federal authorities.</p>
<p>“How about if you think state agents or officials have abused their power or committed unlawful acts?” Assemblyman James Gallagher said. “Asking for a friend.” Bonta is facing scrutiny for using roughly $500,000 in campaign dollars for legal assistance as part of a federal bribery case probe, <a href="https://www.kcra.com/article/attorney-general-rob-bonta-campaign-funds-legal-help/69477723" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KCRA</a> reported.</p>

<p>The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-sues-to-block-california-laws-that-recklessly-endanger-lives-of-federal-agents">reported</a> last month that the Trump administration was suing the state over new laws seeking to stop federal agents from wearing masks and other measures that the administration says are meant to protect the safety and identity of agents who may be targeted while off the job.</p>
<p>“The No Secret Police Act and No Vigilantes Act directly regulate the Federal Government by dictating permissible uniforms for federal agents and forcing federal agencies to adopt specified policies,” the lawsuit stated. “But the Federal Government, not California, has authority to control its own agents and activities.”</p>
<p>At the time, Bonta raised concerns about Trump’s approach to immigration. The Golden State has been at the center of attention for the administration’s efforts, especially after anti-ICE riots broke out in Los Angeles earlier this summer, along with a tense raid at a pot farm leading to hundreds of arrests.</p>
<p>“It’s problematic when Californians can’t tell the difference between a law enforcement officer who is charged with protecting them and a criminal who is attempting to cause them harm,” Bonta’s office stated. “The FBI itself has warned that the practice of ICE agents obscuring their identity has led to a rise in copycats committing crimes, threatening public safety and eroding trust in law enforcement.”</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A 54-year-old man has been arrested after carrying out a self-described “terrorist attack” by throwing Molotov cocktails at security officers outside of a federal building in California that houses Immigration and Customs Enforcement offices, the Justice Department said Tuesday. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Jose Francisco Jovel was accused by federal investigators of carrying out the attack on Monday at a building in Los Angeles that houses Immigration and Customs Enforcement offices. Investigators say that the attack was motivated by opposition to the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“This case exemplifies how misleading and hateful rhetoric against federal law enforcement can and does result in violence,” said First Assistant United States Attorney Bill Essayli. “Irresponsible rhetoric by politicians and activists have real-world consequences. It must stop.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Jovel, who lives in Koreatown, has been charged with attempted malicious damage of federal property and is expected to appear in federal court on Wednesday.  Essayli said that additional charges may be added. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On Monday, Jovel rode his bike to the Federal Building located in the Civic Center of downtown Los Angeles hours after lighting his own apartment on fire after being evicted, prosecutors said. He then allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail through a sliding door of an employee entrance to the building before throwing another one into the public door. While the bottles did not catch on fire, investigators say that surveillance footage shows Jovel trying to light one of the devices on fire. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Jovel was then arrested by federal officers who found five more Molotov cocktails and a lighter in his possession, investigators say. He was also found with knives and was making anti-ICE comments, according to federal law enforcement sources. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Officers reported hearing Jovel say he was motivated by his anger at the Trump administration’s immigration policies. He</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> allegedly referred to his actions as “a terrorist attack” and told officers, “you’re separating families,” before urging nearby people to “start shooting these” officers. The attack prompted the building&#8217;s lobby to be shut down for the investigation. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If convicted, Jovel will face a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“There can be zero tolerance for any targeting of law enforcement officials – let alone violent acts – and we’re lucky that the devices allegedly thrown by the subject did not physically injure anyone,” said Akil Davis, the Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office. “The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is dedicated to investigating and holding accountable anyone who conducts targeted attacks against government employees.”</span></p>

<p>A man who has referred to himself as &#8220;Osama bin Laden&#8221; and &#8220;Timothy McVeigh&#8221; is now facing criminal charges after allegedly threatening to kill federal immigration officers and sexually assault their wives.</p>
<p>John Paul Cupp, of Portland, is a &#8220;prolific producer&#8221; of content involving &#8220;aggressive rhetoric, calls for war against the United States, antisemitic threats, and threats of violence&#8221; who has zeroed in on Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel and their families, <a href="https://x.com/FBIPortland/status/1993098469972525178" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the FBI. His latest alleged calls for violence come as federal immigration agents face an 8,000% increase in death threats, according to the Department of Homeland Security.</p>
<p>Cupp also told authorities &#8220;that he was Osama bin Laden and Timothy McVeigh,&#8221; according to the FBI <a href="https://www.scribd.com/document/955228492/FBI-affidavit-John-Cupp#content=query:osama,pageNum:8,indexOnPage:0,bestMatch:false">affidavit</a>.</p>
<p>“Our ICE law enforcement officers face an 8,000% increase in death threats against them while they risk their lives every single day to remove the worst of the worst including murderers, rapists, pedophiles, terrorists, and gang members,&#8221; Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement shared with The Daily Wire.</p>
<p>&#8220;From bounties placed on their heads for their murders, threats to their families, stalking, and doxxing online, our officers are experiencing an unprecedented level of violence and threats against them and their families. Secretary Noem has been clear: if you threaten or lay a hand on law enforcement, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,&#8221; she said.</p>

<p>Cupp was first spotted yelling at officers approaching a crowd in October, according to the Department of Justice. The 45-year-old posted a video the next month, repeating his earlier threats, and continued posting them online days later.</p>
<p>Some threats lodged against ICE have tragically materialized. In September, a shooter <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/second-illegal-immigrant-detainee-dies-after-dallas-ice-shooting">opened fire</a> on an ICE facility in Dallas, killing two detainees as he tried to aim at federal agents.</p>
<p>A group of accused Antifa terrorists allegedly lured agents out of an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas, by setting off fireworks on the Fourth of July before opening fire on them. One police officer was shot in the neck during the attack.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Americans can be thankful to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for continuing to arrest illegal aliens with serious criminal records over the Thanksgiving weekend, the Trump administration said Monday.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Arrests on Saturday and Sunday included illegals who have murder, sex crimes against children, burglary, and assault convictions, the Department of Homeland Security told The Daily Wire. The arrests come as legacy media outlets have <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ice-detainee-data-fastest-growing-without-criminal-records-trump/">asserted</a> that the number of “non-criminal” ICE detainees has “surged” under Trump and <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/26/immigrants-criminal-record-ice-detention">that</a> “immigrants with no criminal record” are the most common currently in federal custody.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“While Americans enjoyed a long holiday weekend with their families and friends, ICE law enforcement was hard at work arresting rapists, child sex abusers, and murderers,” a DHS spokesman told The Daily Wire. “Every American should be grateful to our law enforcement officers for putting their lives on the line each and every day to remove the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The spokesman added that over 70% of illegals arrested by ICE have either been charged or convicted of a crime.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Despite what the media and sanctuary politicians claim, 70% of ICE arrests are of criminal illegal aliens convicted or charged with a crime in the U.S.,” the spokesman said.</span></p>

<p class="p1">Tennessee Democratic congressional candidate Aftyn Behn deflected when asked whether she supports abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during an interview with CNN on Sunday.</p>
<p class="p1">“I&#8217;ve got 48 hours to flip this congressional district, and have been dogged about the message of affordability, and that&#8217;s not what I&#8217;m hearing in the district,” Behn, a state representative, said before switching topic to rural healthcare.</p>
<p class="p1">Behn is running in Tuesday’s special election in the state’s Seventh Congressional District against Republican Matt Van Epps. Rep. Mark Green’s (R) resignation in July created the vacancy that this special election will fill. President Donald Trump and Green both won the district with roughly 60% of the vote in 2024.</p>
<p class="p1">CNN’s Manu Raju outright asked her whether ICE should be abolished, noting that it’s a stance Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has, who is expected to campaign with Behn in a tele-rally on Monday, according to the outlet.</p>
<p class="p1">Behn was also asked whether ICE should cease its operations in Nashville, parts of which she represents in the state legislature. The Democrat said she’s been hearing from people in her district, particularly the Hispanic community, that they are concerned about “the overreach of our federal government.”</p>
<p class="p1">In a May video, the Democrat said, “We’ve got our girl squad, and we’re bullying the ICE vehicles and State Troopers,” which has since been used in advertisements against Behn.</p>

<p>In 2020, Behn posted on social media, &#8220;Good morning, especially to the 54% of Americans that believe burning down a police station is justified,&#8221; which has led to scrutiny throughout the campaign.</p>
<p>“I’m not gonna engage in cable news talking points,” Behn told <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tennessee-democrat-aftyn-behn-wont-take-back-support-for-burning-down-police-stations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MS Now</a> when asked if she still agreed with her comments made at the time.</p>
<p class="p1">Behn has had Vice President Kamala Harris and other major Democrats campaign for her. Van Epps held a rally with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Monday, and Trump called in to make his case for the Republican.</p>

<p>Chaos erupted in New York City on Saturday, when hundreds of anti-ICE protesters trapped federal immigration officers inside a parking garage for hours, apparently foiling an immigration raid.</p>
<p>Starting around 11 a.m., protesters gathered outside of a parking garage on the edge of Chinatown, after seeing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officers (ICE) officers in the garage. The crowd of activists — which grew to an estimated 200 or so — shouted anti-ICE slogans, blocked the garage opening, and piled up trash bags to also stand in the way, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/11/29/nyregion/ice-raids-protests-nyc.html">according</a> to The New York Times.</p>

<p>Earlier this month, border patrol agents conducting immigration enforcement operations in Chicago were shot at by an unknown male driving a black Jeep, the Department of Homeland Security said at the time.</p>
<p>DHS also noted that an “unknown number of agitators also threw a paint can and bricks at Border Patrol’s vehicles.&#8221;</p>
<p>“Over the past two months, we’ve seen an increase in assaults and obstruction targeting federal law enforcement during operations,” DHS said. “These confrontations highlight the dangers our agents face daily and the escalating aggression toward law enforcement. The violence must end.”</p>
<p>In October, ICE officers were similarly targeted in an armed attack in Chicago. Assistant Secretary Dept. of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin said officers were “rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars” and agents were forced to exit their vehicles on foot.</p>

<p>Authorities arrested a high school assistant principal in Virginia on Wednesday after he and his brother allegedly made detailed plans to attack <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-sets-sights-on-next-city-for-immigration-raids?author=Jennie+Taer&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=4&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Trump+Admin+Sets+Sights+On+Next+City+For+Immigration+Raids">federal immigration agents</a> and other law enforcement officers, according to local reports.</p>
<p>Kempsville High School assistant principal John W. Bennett, 54, is accused of plotting the violence alongside his brother Mark B. Bennett, 59. An off-duty Norfolk police officer overheard the pair discussing their plans as they dined at a local pho restaurant on November 15, <a href="https://www.13newsnow.com/article/news/local/mycity/virginia-beach/virginia-beach-men-arrested-threats-police-officers-ice/291-47d9b0c4-d0eb-472f-b030-1cff19f043ec" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to ABC13, citing court documents.</p>
<p>The brothers were allegedly heard saying Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were “kidnapping individuals,” while Mark Bennett mentioned plans to fly to Las Vegas to meet with “like-minded individuals” and return with “enforcement ideas and plans.”</p>
<p>Mark had purchased a flight for November 19, authorities later confirmed. He also mentioned recently purchasing an assault rifle because it could fire rounds that could cut through body armor, saying he yearned to “go hunting,” according to the outlet.</p>
<p>John seemingly endorsed the plan and expressed interest in joining his brother on the trip to Vegas, according to the report.</p>
<p>Authorities captured the pair at the Norfolk International Airport.</p>

<p>The brothers were each charged with one conspiracy to commit malicious wounding and were granted $25,000 bond on Thursday, <a href="https://www.wavy.com/news/crime/kempsville-high-school-assistant-principal-brother-arrested-for-threat-against-ice/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to WAVY. While out of custody, the two must cut contact with each other and wear a GPS tracker.</p>
<p>The assistant principal has worked at the school district since 2009, according to ABC13. He is now on leave, school officials said.</p>
<p>“These allegations of violence against law enforcement, the very ones who protect and serve our communities, are incredibly alarming,” Virginia Beach Police Department Chief Paul W. Neudigate said in a statement.</p>
<p>ICE has faced a 1,000% surge in assaults since President Donald Trump returned to office and commenced a historic deportation operation across the country.</p>
<p>An anti-ICE shooter <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/second-illegal-immigrant-detainee-dies-after-dallas-ice-shooting">opened fire</a> on an agency facility in Dallas in September, killing two detainees and himself.</p>
<p>At another North Texas ICE facility, a group of alleged <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-hits-antifa-with-very-first-terrorism-charges-in-anti-ice-attack">Antifa militants</a> lured agents outside by setting off fireworks on July 4 before spraying bullets in their direction. One of the alleged attackers shot a local police officer in the neck while hiding in the woods.</p>

High School Principal Arrested For Allegedly Plotting To Attack ICE Agents

<p>The Justice Department sued California on Monday to block the implementation of two bills signed by Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom that would regulate the actions of federal agents carrying out immigration enforcement operations in the state.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The laws, both signed by Newsom on September 20, block Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents from wearing masks or concealing their faces while on the job and require them to visibly display identification of their agency. The suit, filed in the Central District of California, argues that the laws violate the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution and endanger federal agents. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“The No Secret Police Act and No Vigilantes Act directly regulate the Federal Government </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">by dictating permissible uniforms for federal agents and forcing federal agencies to adopt </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">specified policies,&#8221; the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/media/1418431/dl?inline=&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=govdelivery">suit</a> said. &#8220;But the Federal Government, not California, has authority to control its </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">own agents and activities.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Named in the suit are Newsom and California Attorney General Rob Bonta, another Democrat. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The suit argues that the laws would “recklessly endanger the lives of federal agents and their family members and compromise the operational effectiveness of federal law enforcement activities.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Department of Homeland Security has said that ICE officers have faced a 1000% increase in assaults this year and has pointed to efforts to dox and threaten the families of ICE agents. In September, three women were </span><a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-cdca/pr/federal-grand-jury-charges-three-women-following-ice-agent-home-work-and-livestreaming"><span style="font-weight: 400;">charged</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> after they were accused of following an ICE agent to his home before posting his home address to Instagram. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Justice Department said that the federal government did not intend to comply with the laws, both of which take effect on January 1. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The department argued that the laws would “thwart” the use of plainclothes surveillance.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Because suspects who recognize officers may take preemptive actions to evade apprehension and obstruct enforcement efforts, masking is critical for maintaining operational effectiveness, especially in areas where repeat offenders or organized criminal networks are prevalent,” the suit argued. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bonta said he was reviewing the Justice Department&#8217;s complaint. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“It’s problematic when Californians can’t tell the difference between a law enforcement officer who is charged with protecting them and a criminal who is attempting to cause them harm,&#8221; Bonta&#8217;s office said in a statement. “The FBI itself has warned that the practice of ICE agents obscuring their identity has led to a rise in copycats committing crimes, threatening public safety and eroding trust in law enforcement.”</span></p>

<p>According to a report shared by Fox News National Correspondent Bill Melugin, the staffer embarked upon the charade while interacting with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials in an effort to get the illegal alien in question — who&#8217;d been deported four times and had a DUI conviction — out of federal custody.</p>

<p>The Department of Homeland Security went public with the accusation on November 12, as Duckworth noted, and shared some information about what the staffer had done.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Department of Homeland Security on Monday shared a list with The Daily Wire of some of the “worst of the worst” picked up by ICE over the weekend. The list included those convicted from California to Florida, New York to Iowa, and Texas.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“While Americans were enjoying their weekend, ICE law enforcement officers were hard at work arresting the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens across the country including convicted murderers, pedophiles, and rapists,” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire.</span></p>
