Radio host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hugh-hewitt" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hugh Hewitt</a> stormed out of a Washington Post livestream event on Friday after two fellow columnists at the Post made false claims about former President Donald Trump and the 2024 election. He subsequently quit as a columnist at the newspaper.
The incident happened when Hewitt was participating in the Post&#8217;s &#8220;First Look&#8221; with left-wing columnists Jonathan Capehart and Ruth Marcus on its &#8220;Washington Post Live&#8221; platform.
During the discussion about election integrity, Capehart claimed that Trump was &#8220;laying the groundwork for contesting the election by complaining that cheating was taking place in Pennsylvania, by suing Bucks County for alleged irregularities.&#8221;
Marcus agreed, claiming that Trump has been doing this for &#8220;months&#8221; and that his complaints in court were &#8220;far fetched.&#8221;
Hewitt noted that the Trump campaign <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/30/us/politics/trump-lawsuit-pennsylvania-mail-in-ballot-voting-bucks-county.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">successfully</a> sued election officials in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, for improperly turning away voters while they were waiting in line to apply for a mail-in ballot.
&#8220;I just gotta say we&#8217;re news people, even though we&#8217;re at the opinion section,&#8221; Hewitt fired back. &#8220;It’s gotta be reported, Bucks County was reversed by the court and instructed to open up extra days because they violated the law and told people to go home. So that lawsuit was brought by the Republican National Committee, and it was successful.&#8221;

&#8220;The Supreme Court ruled that Glenn Youngkin was successful,&#8221; he added, referencing Virginia&#8217;s lawsuit to stop the Biden-Harris administration from preventing the state from removing non-citizens from its voter rolls.
&#8220;We are news people, even though we have opinions and we have to report the whole story if we bring up part of the story,&#8221; he added. &#8220;So yes, he&#8217;s upset about Bucks County, but he was right, and he won in court. That&#8217;s the story.&#8221;
Capehart lashed out that he didn&#8217;t &#8220;appreciate being lectured about&#8221; his false claims and he then tried to point the finger at remarks Hewitt has made while coming on the show.
&#8220;I won’t come back, Jonathan. I’m done,&#8221; Hewitt said. &#8220;This is the most unfair election ad I have ever been a part of. You guys are working. That&#8217;s fine. I&#8217;m done.&#8221;

Hewitt told Fox News after the incident that he quit his columnist position at the newspaper.
&#8220;I have in fact quit the Post,&#8221; he said, noting that he had already started to cut back how much writing he was doing for the paper.
The incident happened after Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bezos-tells-wapo-to-hire-more-conservatives-as-paper-loses-200k-subscribers-over-endorsement-debacle" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ordered</a> the newspaper to hire more conservative columnists and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jeff-bezos-blasts-media-bias-in-op-ed-for-his-own-paper" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acknowledged</a> that bias was a serious credibility issue for the media.
Hewitt was widely praised online for not putting up with the false claims from Marcus and Capehart.

Trump made the comments during an <a href="https://twitter.com/hughhewitt/status/1790772659959009696" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> with radio host Hugh Hewitt — where he also discussed his reaction to Biden&#8217;s debate challenge, issued earlier that morning in a 14-second video that included 5 jump cuts and the president suggesting that Trump &#8220;make my day.&#8221;
&#8220;President Biden just issued you a debate challenge for June and September with the veeps talking in July. Do you accept?&#8221; Hewitt asked, and Trump said that he did.
&#8220;Oh, absolutely. I’ve been trying to get, you know, he’s issuing it. I wonder whether or not he shows up, because you know, he also challenged me to golf. So I’m a very good golfer. He can’t hit a ball 50 yards. He said I’ll give him three a side, but he knows he’ll never play. This is sort of like that, I think. But I hope not, because I really think he has to debate.&#8221;

Former President Donald Trump declined to answer during an interview this week whether he ordered anyone to move boxes at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida last year to hide evidence from investigators in the criminal investigation into his alleged handling of classified U.S. intelligence after leaving the White House. The former president also said he would &#8220;absolutely&#8221; testify in his own defense if he goes to trial.
Trump made the remarks during an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Wednesday when asked about the federal obstruction charge that he faces in special counsel Jack Smith&#8217;s investigation.
Hewitt asked Trump, &#8220;Did you direct anyone to move the boxes after the subpoena was issued?&#8221;
Trump initially responded by comparing the charge to &#8220;Russia, Russia, Russia,&#8221; suggesting that &#8220;Deranged Jack Smith&#8221; created a &#8220;fake case&#8221; against him.
After a few moments passed, Hewitt again pressed the former president, &#8220;But did you direct anyone to move the boxes, Mr. President? Did you tell anyone to move the boxes?&#8221;
&#8220;I don’t talk about anything. You know why? Because I’m allowed to do whatever I want. I come under the Presidential Records Act. I’m not telling you,&#8221; Trump fired back. &#8220;You know, every time I talk to you, &#8216;Oh, I have a breaking story.&#8217; You don’t have any story. I come under the Presidential Records Act. I’m allowed to do everything I did.&#8221;
Later in the interview, Hewitt asked Trump, &#8220;So if you have to go to trial, will you testify in your own defense?&#8221;
&#8220;Oh, yes, absolutely,&#8221; Trump said, confirming that he would take the stand. &#8220;That, I would do. That, I look forward to, because that’s just like Russia, Russia, Russia. That’s all the fake information from Russia, Russia, Russia. &#8220;I’m not answering that question for you,&#8221; Trump fired back, &#8220;but I’m totally covered under the law.&#8221;

Republican Miami Mayor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/francis-suarez" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Francis Suarez</a> admitted during an interview with Hugh Hewitt this week that he was completely unaware of one of the largest human rights issues in the world.
Suarez, a long-shot Republican presidential candidate, was asked by Hewitt about the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/uyghur" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Uyghurs</a>, a minority group in China who are locked up in concentration camps and forced into re-education facilities.
After talking briefly about China, Hewitt asked Suarez, &#8220;Will you be talking about the Uyghurs in your campaign?&#8221;
&#8220;The what?&#8221; Suarez responded.
&#8220;The Uyghurs,&#8221; Hewitt said.

Reports have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/extremely-sadistic-communist-china-gang-rapes-religious-minorities-in-concentration-camps-former-detainees-allege">surfaced</a> in recent years of violent gang rape against the Uyghurs and other religious minorities detained in the Chinese concentration camps in Xinjiang.
Qelbinur Sidik, who was forced to teach inside the camps, made allegations in an interview published by CNN in 2021. Sidik’s story begins by noting that a policewoman told her very early on that she had been assigned to investigate reports of rapes and torture taking place at the facility. Sidik said that the policewoman described to her how the male guards at the camp often bragged while drinking about how they “raped and tortured girls.”
Sidik said that her first encounter with new detainees was approximately 100 men and women who were chained in shackles around their hands and feet. She said that even those that came in physically and mentally strong eventually were broken by the brutal system that the communist Chinese had installed in the camps, where an estimated nearly 2 million religious minorities are being detained. She said that she witnessed “horrific traged[ies]” while working at the camp where women were regularly “crying loudly.”
Another witness, Tursunay Ziyawudun, told CNN that she committed no crime when she was sent to the camps. After a month in the camp, authorities released Ziyawudun, only to arrest her a short time later for a nine-month “nightmare.” Ziyawudun, who is now in the U.S., told CNN that large numbers women were often crammed into small spaces, allowed minimal time to basic facilities like toilets, and were brutally punished for small things like using the facilities for too long.
During an interrogation session, Ziyawudun said that she was beaten so intensely that she passed out. Another time, guards forced her on to a table where they “inserted a stun baton” inside her and “twisted and shocked” her until she “blacked out” from the pain. A couple of weeks later she was ganged raped by several men, an experience she said happened to her multiple times while in the camps.
“They were extremely sadistic, causing pain and damage to the body by beating and smacking my head on the wall,” Ziyawudun said, “It was their way of punishing us.”

In the latest 5-minute video for PragerU, radio host and columnist Hugh Hewitt breaks down the real and little-known history of Watergate, the most famous political scandal in U.S. history. 
Even though many people know Watergate involved an illegal break-in, says Hewitt, if you were to ask most any person to try and explain the scandal, they’d likely draw a blank. But what most people don’t know, he argues, is that Watergate was “first and foremost” part of a political war between a Republican president and the mainstream media. 
Hewitt offers three reasons for why the media had it out for President Richard Nixon: The elites despised him, and the Washington, D.C., press corps were members of the elite; Nixon was a staunch anti-communist at a time media types believed the communism threat was “overblown”; and Nixon refused to abandon South Vietnam in the war against communism at a time when media types were anti-war. 
So why did the Watergate scandal blow up the way that it did? Hewitt argues that had Nixon’s people simply owned up to its role in the scandal, the whole ordeal may have just blown over. But because Nixon failed to mount an effective response, the scandal grew from minor to major. 
“Three men made sure of that,” argues Hewitt. “A publicity-seeking judge” named John Sirica, a &#8220;vengeful&#8221; FBI official named Mark Felt, and “a partisan special prosecutor” named Archibald Cox. 
“Suspecting a vast conspiracy, Sirica threatened the burglars with lifetime prison sentences if they didn’t rat out the people who authorized the crime,” says Hewitt. 
Meanwhile, the FBI official “thought that he deserved to become head of the FBI” and started leaking tips to Washington Post reporters Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward after Nixon overlooked him for the position. “Meeting secretly, he told them where to look and what questions to ask. Without him, the duo would have gotten nowhere,” Hewitt says. 
“With Sirica applying pressure from the bench and Felt from inside the FBI, the White House defenses began to weaken, then crack, and then shatter,” says Hewitt. Then once Cox appointed Democratic lawyers to investigate the Nixon administration, the president effectively found himself in political quicksand from which he could not escape. 
“When it emerged that many of Nixon’s private conversations were recorded, his fate was sealed. Citing executive privilege, he tried to keep the tapes from Sirica and Congress. On July 24, 1974, the Supreme Court ruled against the president,” he says. 
Less than a month later, Nixon resigned — the only U.S. president to ever do so.
&#8220;The media had its victory, and a newfound sense of power. The country has not been the same since,&#8221; says Hewitt.

On Sunday, conservative author and radio host Hugh Hewitt appeared on NBC’s “<a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/meet-press-january-19-2020-n1116261">Meet the Press</a>” with host Chuck Todd.
During one of the segments with Hewitt, Todd played the clip from Tuesday’s Democratic primary debate in which Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) approached rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and accused him of calling her “a liar on national TV.”
Rewind.
The feud between Warren and Sanders <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/obama-official-warren-sanders-spat-didnt-play-out-well-for-either-of-them-biden-could-benefit">began in earnest</a> with a report from Politico on January 11 in which it was claimed the Sanders campaign was instructing its personnel to tell voters that Warren was a candidate who couldn’t broaden her appeal beyond the “highly educated” and “more affluent.”
Warren responded to the report, saying that she was “disappointed to hear that Bernie is sending his volunteers out to trash me.”
Then, CNN dropped a bombshell story claiming that during a private meeting in 2018, Sanders told Warren that he “did not believe a woman could win.”
In response to CNN’s report, Warren said:

I have no interest in discussing this private meeting any further because Bernie and I have far more in common than our differences on punditry.</blockquote>
At Tuesday’s debate, CNN’s Abby Phillip asked Sanders about the alleged exchange, and Sanders denied that it ever happened. Phillip then turned right around and asked Warren: “What did you think when Senator Sanders told you a woman could not win the election?” Sanders appeared confounded that Phillip would state her question in such a way, and the audience notably laughed.
Warren replied: “I disagreed. Bernie is my friend, and I am not here to try to fight with Bernie. But, look, this question about whether or not a woman can be president has been raised, and it’s time for us to attack it head-on.”
After the debate, while mics were still recording and cameras on, Warren approached Sanders, refused his handshake, and confronted him over the debate exchange. Sanders replied that it was Warren who had called him a “liar,” but that they shouldn’t have such a discussion then and there.
On Sunday, Todd asked Hewitt his opinion on the feud as a conservative, noting that it might end up helping former Vice President Joe Biden, “who might be the tougher foe” in the general election.
Hewitt stated that he believes it is Mayor Pete Buttigieg who would benefit from the internecine fighting:
<blockquote>I thought the winner of the split was Pete Buttigieg because either the Warren voter or the Sanders voter who is turned off, they&#8217;re not going to go to Joe Biden. They&#8217;ve already committed to a progressive.</blockquote>
Hewitt then added that he will be voting for Sen. Sanders in the Virginia primary:

Todd asked if Hewitt’s Sanders vote was “calculated voting.” Hewitt replied that it’s because he believes Sanders to be “authentic,” and that he wants a clear distinction between a real “socialist” and those who are simply imitators.

Tom Cotton ripped the &#8220;extreme rhetoric&#8221; and the &#8220;laughable political game&#8221; that the Democratic Party is playing to keep President Donald Trump&#8217;s Supreme Court nominee <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/32813/breaking-trump-announces-supreme-court-nominee-ryan-saavedra">Judge Brett Kavanaugh</a> off the bench. 
In an interview on Monday, conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt asked the Arkansas Republican if he believed the conspiracy theory that retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy made a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/32856/no-justice-kennedy-didnt-make-ridiculous-deal-ben-shapiro">deal</a> to put Kavanaugh on the high court.
&#8220;Hugh, no, that&#8217;s the first I&#8217;ve heard of such a deal,&#8221; Cotton said. &#8220;And I&#8217;ll evaluate this nomination on its merits, on Judge Kavanaugh&#8217;s record and his character and his jurisprudence. Justice Kennedy served our country for a very long time, and we should thank him for that service. But he&#8217;s going to take senior status now, and what we have to do as senators is evaluate Judge Kavanaugh&#8217;s record, and Judge Kavanaugh&#8217;s jurisprudence when we vote on his nomination. The relationship between the President and Justice Kennedy, in my opinion, is really not relevant to that consideration.&#8221;
Later, Cotton criticized the Democrats&#8217; grandstanding on the selection of Kavanaugh. 
&#8220;The Democrats in the Senate have kind of gone around the bend already on Judge Kavanaugh&#8217;s nomination if you look at some of the extreme rhetoric, or my favorite part was some of the senators standing out in front of the Supreme Court last night protesting the nomination,&#8221; he said.
&#8220;And you could see in the background they had signs premade not just for stopping Kavanaugh, but stop Barrett and stop Hardiman and stop Kethledge as well. So it&#8217;s clear they&#8217;re just playing a somewhat laughable political game, and they would have opposed for partisan reasons anyone that President Trump nominated.&#8221;

This week, MSNBC announced that it had punished weekend host Hugh Hewitt with a &#8220;verbal warning&#8221; for meetings he had with EPA chief Scott Pruitt regarding a clean up of a toxic-waste site near his home.
MSNBC&#8217;s discipline of Hewitt followed Politico&#8217;s <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/msnbc-host-hugh-hewitt-personally-lobbied-pruitt-to-clean-up-toxic-waste-near-his-home">report on Tuesday</a> that Hewitt personally contacted EPA chief Scott Pruitt to arrange a meeting between Pruitt and a law firm that directly pays Hewitt and represents the Orange County Water District.
On Wednesday, MSNBC told <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/msnbc-gives-hugh-hewitt-verbal-warning-for-personally-lobbying-epa">The Daily Beast</a>, &#8220;Hugh Hewitt disclosed several times to MSNBC viewers that he has a friendship with EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt and also that Hewitt&#8217;s son works for the agency. As a result of those relationships, Hewitt stopped discussing EPA-related matters on MSNBC. However, after the network learned Tuesday that Hewitt set up an EPA meeting in the fall, he was given a verbal warning as such activity is a violation of our standards.&#8221;

Yet, despite the fact that MSNBC host Joy Reid has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/29997/watch-joy-reid-admits-hacking-claims-not-true-ryan-saavedra">lied about people hacking her website</a> and posting remarks on her blog that she herself <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/29908/uh-oh-post-joy-reid-trump-might-finally-turn-left-james-barrett">admitted</a> were &#8220;homophobic, transphobic, sexist and bigoted,&#8221; MSNBC has not disciplined her.

MSNBC Punishes Hugh Hewitt For Meeting With Pruitt. Joy Reid Goes Unpunished For Lying About Her Blog Posts.

We&#8217;re learning some things about Donald Trump&#8217;s new communications director Anthony Scaramucci, including that he&#8217;s got a flair for the dramatic and an entertaining habit of stating the obvious. On Hugh Hewitt&#8217;s radio show on Tuesday, Scaramucci admitted what is becoming painfully clear: Trump &#8220;probably&#8221; wants Attorney General Jeff Sessions out. 
Trump&#8217;s public criticism of Sessions began in earnest last week when he told The New York Times on Wednesday that if he&#8217;d known Sessions would recuse himself on the Russia investigation, he never would have nominated him for attorney general. Tuesday morning, the president ratcheted up his criticism in a <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/18953/trump-tweets-abuse-attorney-general-sessions-ben-shapiro">series of tweets</a>. 
&#8220;Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump campaign &#8211; &#8216;quietly working to boost Clinton.&#8217; So where is the investigation A.G.,&#8221; wrote Trump. &#8220;Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails &amp; DNC server) &amp; Intel leakers!&#8221; 
Trump then added a quick slam of the acting director of the FBI.
&#8220;Problem is that the acting head of the FBI &amp; the person in charge of the Hillary investigation, Andrew McCabe, got $700,000 from H for wife!&#8221; he wrote.
In his chat with Scaramucci Tuesday, Hewitt brought up Trump&#8217;s growing frustration with Sessions.
&#8220;It&#8217;s clear the President wants him gone,&#8221; said Hewitt in reference to the A.G. 
Scaramucci admitted that Trump&#8217;s public shaming of Sessions &#8220;probably&#8221; means what we all think it means, and then went on to suggest that the &#8220;architecture&#8221; of Trump&#8217;s Cabinet requires someone more loyal, like A.G. Eric Holder &#8230; (partial transcript via <a href="http://www.mediaite.com/online/scaramucci-says-trump-probably-wants-sessions-gone-theres-a-level-of-tension-in-the-relationship/">Mediaite</a>):

SCARAMUCCI: I have an enormous amount of respect for the Attorney General. But I do know the President pretty well. And if there&#8217;s this level of tension in the relationship that&#8217;s public, you&#8217;re probably right. But I don&#8217;t want to speak for the President on that because he&#8217;s a Cabinet official. And I sort of think that has to be between the President of the United States and a Cabinet official. &#8230;
You and I might be at odds with Eric Holder politically. But one of the things I would give him a lot of credit for is that he was a pretty good hockey goalie for the president. He was also willing to help the president inside the bounds of the law. I&#8217;m not saying these guys did anything illegal. But when you think about the relationship John Kennedy had with his brother as Attorney General, or you think about the relationship the president had with Eric Holder &#8212; President Obama &#8212; [President Trump and Sessions] probably don&#8217;t have that sort of relationship. And I think the president, when he thinks about the architecture of his Cabinet, I think he needs that sort of a relationship there.

Fun note on Scaramucci: According to The Washington Post, he recently <a href="http://hotair.com/archives/2017/07/24/scaramucci-idea-state-run-morning-talk-show-hosted-white-house-lawn/">floated the idea</a> of &#8220;a daily administration &#8216;television&#8217; broadcast at 7 a.m., complete with a desk on the White House lawn and guests that included Democratic leaders.&#8221; So there&#8217;s that. If nothing else, Scaramucci is certainly shaking things up in his first week in the position.

Face the Nation host John Dickerson joined conservative pundit Hugh Hewitt on his radio show Friday, and said something rather shocking about the media:

HEWITT: &#8220;But that one comment, &#8216;They don&#8217;t trust you anymore,&#8217; is a summation of where we are in America, because I really do think Manhattan-Beltway elites have lost the country. They&#8217;ve lost it. There&#8217;s just no confidence&#8230;What do you think of that? Is it true?&#8221;
DICKERSON: &#8220;Yes, it&#8217;s true, and it&#8217;s not because of anything obviously Donald Trump did. The press did all that good work ruining its reputation on its own&#8211;and we can have a long conversation about what created that. Part of it, though, is what you mentioned about the local weather report, which is to say a lot of hysterical coverage about every little last thing that doesn&#8217;t warrant it.&#8221;

Dickerson and Hewitt did both acknowledged Trump&#8217;s press conference &#8220;misstatements,&#8221; otherwise known as lies. However, Dickerson didn&#8217;t shy away from noting the media&#8217;s culpability in creating an environment where the American people don&#8217;t trust the press.
If only every other anchor, host, and pundit could be as intellectually honest.

In an <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/01/04/wikileaks-assange-14-year-old-kid-could-have-hacked-podesta-emails.html">interview</a> that aired on Tuesday evening, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/12094/assange-russia-was-not-source-wikileaks-james-barrett">emphatically denied </a>that the Russian government was the source for the leaked Democratic National Committee and John Podesta emails. Donald Trump cited Assange&#8217;s denial as evidence that the Obama administration was using the &#8220;Russia hacked the election&#8221; narrative to try to discredit him, but Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan warned against trusting Assange.
In an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Wednesday morning, Ryan slammed Assange as a &#8220;<a href="http://thehill.com/policy/international/312632-paul-ryan-calls-assange-sycophant-for-russia">sycophant for Russia,</a>&#8221; adding he hoped that Trump would soon learn the truth about Russian involvement in the election-year hacking. 
&#8220;The guy is a creep,&#8221; <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4087614/Trump-doubles-Assange-s-claim-Russia-wasn-t-involved-Podesta-hack-blames-DNC-lack-hacking-defense.html">said</a> Hewitt of Assange. &#8220;He&#8217;s wanted on a rape in Sweden. I don&#8217;t trust a word he says. He is a Russian front&#8230; Anyone who believes anything Julian Assange says, you just have to ask yourself: When are you going to wake up to the fact he&#8217;s a very bad guy?&#8221;
Ryan agreed, describing Assange as a &#8220;sycophant for Russia&#8221; who &#8220;steals data and compromises national security.&#8221; 
&#8220;I think he has not received his Russia briefing yet,&#8221; Ryan said of Trump. &#8220;I believe that is scheduled for Friday, so hopefully he&#8217;ll get to up to speed on what has been happening and what Russia has or has not done. And he&#8217;ll be better informed on that.&#8221;
Trump has been openly skeptical about U.S. intelligence conclusions that the Russians were behind the hacks targeting the Democratic party, and has particularly hammered President Obama on the glaring inconsistency in his response to the proven Chinese hacking of government agencies and the alleged Russian hacking. Obama&#8217;s decision to make a show of his retaliation against Russia, says Team Trump, is <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/12096/krauthammer-obama-using-russia-trump-used-james-barrett">an attempt to delegitimize Trump&#8217;s presidency</a>.
Trump also responded Tuesday night to Assange revealing how easy it was to hack Podesta&#8217;s emails. 
&#8220;Julian Assange said &#8216;a 14 year old could have hacked Podesta&#8217; &#8211; why was DNC so careless? Also said Russians did not give him the info!&#8221; Trump tweeted.
Assange told Sean Hannity that Podesta&#8217;s password was actually &#8220;password.&#8221;

We can say, we have said, repeatedly that over the last two months that our source is not the Russian government and it is not a state party.&#8221;
&#8220;Our source is not a state party, so the answer for our interactions is no,&#8221; Assange added later. &#8220;But if we look at our most recent statement from the US government, which is on the 29th of December, OK, we had five different branches of government, Treasury, DHS, FBI, White House presenting their accusations to underpin Obama&#8217;s throwing out 29 Russian diplomats. What was missing from all of those statements? The word WikiLeaks. It&#8217;s very strange.&#8221;

Assange suggested that the allegations were an attempt by the Obama administration to undermine Trump: &#8220;Our publications had wide uptake by the American people, they&#8217;re all true. But that&#8217;s not the allegation that&#8217;s being presented by the Obama White House. So, why such a dramatic response? Well, the reason is obvious. They&#8217;re trying to delegitimize the Trump administration as it goes into the White House. They are trying to say that President-elect Trump is not a legitimate President&#8230;&#8221;

Paul Ryan BLASTS Julian Assange: ‘Sycophant for Russia’

National Review&#8217;s Jonah Goldberg joined The Hugh Hewitt Show for an <a href="http://www.hughhewitt.com/jonah-goldberg-altright/">interview on Wednesday</a> to discuss the &#8220;alt-right&#8221; movement.

Goldberg explained the core of &#8220;alt-right&#8221; politics:

&#8220;[The alt-right believes] we need to organize this society on the assumption that white people are genetically superior, or that white culture is inherently superior, and that we should have either state-imposed or culturally-imposed segregation between the races, no race mixing with the lower brown people.&#8221;

On descriptions of Breitbart as an &#8220;alt-right&#8221; news outlet, Goldberg cast the site as &#8220;friendly&#8221; to the racial nationalist movement:

&#8220;I would say that in the same way that the Nation wasn&#8217;t a communist magazine in the 1960s, it was just extremely communist friendly.
&#8230;
And I think what Breitbart has been doing, first of all, it breaks my heart, because it&#8217;s nothing Andrew would ever touch.
They play footsie with the alt right. They get praise from the alt right.
&#8230;
And there&#8217;s some people, and there are some people who are click-bait whores. And they love to just stew up controversy for its own sake. They want to destroy, Bannon believes in his heart that the GOP needs to be destroyed. And that kind of radicalism is an open invitation to have fellow travelers, because that&#8217;s what alt righters believe, too. I don&#8217;t think that Bannon is a white identitarian who believes in, you know, the genetic supremacy or superiority of white people, although he might. I just don&#8217;t know. I think he is a nationalist. He&#8217;s not a conservative. Nationalism and conservatism are different things.&#8221;

For the uninitiated, the &#8220;alt-right&#8221; is a rebranding of American Protestant white nationalism. The foundational principle of the movement is racial determinism, that is, a belief that one&#8217;s race is highly impactful of one&#8217;s development. 

Racial nationalists of all flavors view racial fault lines of humanity as primally important. They want societies, and by extension public policy, to be structured around these differences. Individuals, say racial nationalists, naturally prefer to be around persons of the same race.

Given the continuum of race, and how the human history involves countless genetic mixes of varying persons, racial nationalists are unable to cleanly delineate where one race begins and another ends.

Nationalism is an ideology broadly defined as prioritizing the welfare of the nation. How the nation is defined, however, is where various nationalists diverge from one another. Racial nationalists view race as integral to nationhood, whereas conventional nationalists subscribe to a national identity predicated on values and culture.

Adopting a Hitlerian view of racial struggle as the natural order of the human condition, &#8220;alt-right&#8221; adherents often view competing political ideologies as smoke and mirrors conceived by Jews to confuse and manipulate the masses. 

Jared Taylor of American Renaissance, a self-described &#8220;race realist,&#8221; joined <a href="https://thedianerehmshow.org/shows/2016-08-29/the-rise-of-the-alt-right-movement-and-its-place-in-this-years-presidential-campaign">NPR on Monday</a> to exposit on the &#8220;alt-right,&#8221; &#8220;race realism,&#8221; and his view of a race-based American nationalism:

&#8220;Well, this has to do with the central element that does unite the alt-right. Among the many positions held by the alt-right, we reject the notion that race is some sort of sociological optical illusion. Race is a biological fact, whether we wish to recognize that or not, and we completely reject the idea that all races are exactly equal and equivalent and in effect interchangeable.
&#8230;
It&#8217;s obvious that if a nation goes through substantial racial demographic change, many aspects of it will change, and a majority has the right to remain a majority. This is taken for granted in all non-white countries. You would never expect the Japanese or the Nigerians or the Mexicans to countenance some kind of immigration or other program that reduced them to a minority within a period of decades. They would laugh at it.
&#8230;
We have not suspended the laws of human nature in the United States of America. We are a nation like any other, and the extent to which we lose any kind of cultural, racial homogeneity, the extent that we become a multi-culti mishmash, we will become an ungovernable place.&#8221;

Asked if Donald Trump has any connection to the &#8220;alt-right,&#8221; Taylor said, &#8220;I don&#8217;t think Donald Trump knows the first thing about the alternative right. I don&#8217;t think also that he has, in any way, attempted to court the alternative right.&#8221;
Taylor described the &#8220;alt-right&#8221; as &#8220;one-issue voters.&#8221; &#8220;We would vote for any candidate who would stop the dispossession of the white majority in the United States,&#8221; said Taylor.
