Fox News host Greg Gutfeld asked why there were no friends or family members willing to step in and advise liberal women against putting themselves in harm&#8217;s way by obstructing the actions of armed federal officers.
Gutfeld raised the question during Monday&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;The Five,&#8221; arguing that liberals could not publicly advise anyone not to engage Immigration and Customs Enforcement and keep their claim to &#8220;virtue&#8221; intact.

&#8220;The argument over this shooting is irrelevant if you deny the premise for them being there,&#8221; Gutfeld began, referring to the deadly confrontation between anti-ICE activist Renee Good and an ICE agent several days earlier. &#8220;This is part of the strategic ignorance where the other side doesn&#8217;t understand things: Why is ICE here? Why is breaking the law wrong? Why do we need this kind of enforcement? What is wrong with an open border?&#8221;
Gutfeld went on to argue that the entire point of the feigned ignorance was to bog conservatives down in answering those questions, all the while knowing that the liberals asking them knew the answers.
&#8220;You don&#8217;t break into Disneyland, you pay,&#8221; he explained. &#8220;You don&#8217;t cut in line at the movies, you wait in line. You don&#8217;t interfere with the police, you know it&#8217;s wrong.&#8221;
&#8220;You are living a lie,&#8221; Gutfeld said, adding that when it came to the far-Left, their private behavior did not align with their public behavior.
&#8220;I want every liberal, because we have millions of liberals watching this show, to engage in a thought scenario,&#8221; Gutfeld continued. &#8220;You ask your sister this question: &#8216;So, what are your plans today, Deborah?&#8217; She goes, &#8216;Well, I plan on filming myself harassing and impeding armed law enforcement.&#8217; So, how would you respond to your sister?&#8221;
Gutfeld argued that most people, regardless of political affiliation, would advise against such actions.
&#8220;If you deny, to a family member or a best friend, that this is how you would react, you are lying to yourself to protect your public virtue,&#8221; Gutfeld declared. &#8220;Would you say, &#8216;You go, girl?&#8217; Of course not! You would say, &#8216;You need an intervention. I need to stop you because I care about you.'&#8221;
&#8220;That is the problem, Jessica,&#8221; he said then, turning to liberal cohost Jessica Tarlov. &#8220;Nobody cares about [Renee] Good. You don&#8217;t care about her, the Left never cared about her, the activist group that trained her didn&#8217;t care about it – who should be sued for wrongful death, who put her in this situation. She had no friends, she had no relatives to offer her advice when she was doing this stuff, when she was putting her life in jeopardy.&#8221;
Gutfeld went on to say that Good was not alone in that — and that many other women had appeared in similar videos harassing ICE agents, although usually with less tragic ends.
&#8220;Where are their friends? Where are their parents? Where are the kids that would say, &#8216;Mommy, what are you doing? Why aren&#8217;t you home?'&#8221; he asked.

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld dismantled the &#8220;both sides&#8221; argument on political violence during a Wednesday broadcast of the panel discussion show &#8220;The Five,&#8221; arguing that the people who carry out violent acts are more often driven by leftist ideology.
Gutfeld was responding to fellow panelist Jessica Tarlov, who referenced a study that found a predominance of political violence had come from the Right, and he made it clear that he was not buying it.

&#8220;Why did the DOJ take down the study that showed how much right-wing extremism —&#8221; Tarlov said.
&#8220;What study was that? Which one? The one in The Economist that was sponsored by a group run by a guy in Antifa!? &#8230; You&#8217;re walking down a really bad alley right now,&#8221; Gutfeld said. He went on to argue that left-leaning media was doing some of the heavy lifting when it came to pushing people toward violent actions.
&#8220;You label someone a fascist or a racist or a Nazi. It makes you free to attack them. And that has been the ideology from the start,&#8221; Gutfeld continued.
Tarlov asked about President Donald Trump&#8217;s rhetoric, claiming that he was just as bad.
&#8220;The Left calls Trump a hate monger. They&#8217;ve called me a hate monger because I ridicule the Left. I ridicule protesters. I ridicule academia, Hollywood, the news media. I make fun of the view every day. I make fun of the UN. Guess what? No one acts on the things that I say because my side doesn&#8217;t do that!&#8221; Gutfeld added, going on to note that a lot of people involved in politically motivated violence might have some mental health issues, but that the ideology pushing them to act was more likely to be from the Left.
&#8220;You come and you say, &#8216;This is a mentally ill loner.&#8217; Well, who do you think does this stuff? It&#8217;s not Ben Affleck, it&#8217;s not Tom Brady. People who do this stuff are always that way. The question is, who points them in that direction?&#8221; Gutfeld asked. &#8220;Why pick ICE? Why pick Charlie Kirk? Why put bombs under Fox trucks? Why vandalize memorials? Why kill kids in Catholic schools?&#8221;
&#8220;Two things can be true. A person can be mentally ill, and you can be guiding him to that place in his life. That is how brainwashing works,&#8221; Gutfeld concluded.

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld weighed in after Democrats and media personalities reacted to ABC’s decision to oust late night comedy host Jimmy Kimmel, saying that many of them were more concerned about that than they were about the public assassination a week earlier of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
Gutfeld made the observation on Thursday’s broadcast of panel discussion show “The Five,” where he argued that the left was trying — unsuccessfully — to turn Kimmel into the same level of “victim” as Kirk.

Many of us fondly remember the days when late-night talk show hosts like Johnny Carson and Jay Leno came into our living rooms every night with one goal in mind: to entertain as many people as possible through laughter.
But with the rise of Donald Trump, late-night comedy shows morphed into nightly attacks on the man over 77 million Americans sent to the White House. Every evening for years now, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel subjected their audiences to non-stop Trump bashing.
It’s vicious, relentless, and, worst of all, not funny.
These “comics” came to view their platforms not as vehicles to entertain a broad spectrum of the American public, but rather a podium from which to blast out their ultra-left politics and Stage 4 Trump Derangement, while cloaking themselves in obnoxiously self-righteous sanctimony along the way.
As anyone who suffered through their childishly acrimonious monologues could attest, if you hated Trump in particular, or anyone to the right of Che Guevara in general, you found comfort in the acid bath of antipathy that came spewing from your screen courtesy of hosts who we were told were comics.
But things might be changing.
Last week, Colbert announced that CBS had cancelled his show, and that they would not replace him. One imagines that Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Seth Meyers — none of whom are bringing in audiences — will be canned imminently.
Many have met the demise of Colbert — a man whose idea of comedy was dancing hypodermic needles to push a government narrative in a manner that would make Pravda blush — marks the end of late-night talk shows as a whole. But are they really dead? Or is it just the DNC propaganda machine version of these shows bound for extinction?
As I <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-sad-politicization-of-late-night-television" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> a while back while lamenting the death of the genuine late-night comedy of Carson — whose last show in May 1992 was watched by an astounding 50 million Americans — several times over the years I did make a sincere effort to watch Colbert or Kimmel.
They were funny on The Daily Show and The Man Show respectively. And I’m willing to be entertained by a truly funny Trump joke. But the level of sheer vitriol and ugliness masquerading as humor on these shows made them impossible to watch. So did the monotony: late night hosts just kept coming at the guy, one Trump assault after another after another. On Colbert one night I literally counted five Trump “jokes” in a row in the opening monologue before I finally had to turn him off. Not because it offended my politics, or my feelings. But rather because it failed to make me laugh. Why else would anyone tune in?
For example, a recent Colbert monologue about Trump sending in the National Guard to quell anti-ICE street violence in California featured the following:
“What’s going on in LA reminds us that it is crucial to speak out against Trump’s fascist impulses, his rampant corruption, and his egregious violations of our norms and our laws…The last time a president bypassed a governor to send in the National Guard was 1965 when LBJ used troops to protect civil rights demonstrators in Alabama. So, we’ve come full circle. Troops were used to protect protesters by Lyndon B. Johnson. Now they’re being used to harass protesters by Donald B. D***.”
Crickets. Cough. Scraping chair leg.
Who needs to tune in to a DNC stump speech after a long day at work? What normal American wants to be subjected to an obsequious Colbert slobbering over guest Adam Schiff while the serial liar looks at the camera and says in his toughest beta male milquetoast persona: “Donald, piss off”? Hmmm. Maybe I’ll just read a few pages of a book before I turn in.
Hang on to your seat, because the laughs just kept on coming.
Consider such comedy gold as his declaring that the Iran strike didn’t take out all their centrifuges, whether true or not. Colbert said it was “less Operation Midnight Hammer and more Operation M.C. Hammer.” Huh? That barely makes sense, let alone makes people laugh. This is the best his team of 24 writers could come up with?
Despite the predictable howls from the usual suspects — for whom late-night hosts are the pharmacies for their daily dose of TDS — Colbert was not fired because he criticized Trump. It was really just a matter of dollars and cents.
Colbert attracts 2.2 million viewers on average; Kimmel 1.7 million; Fallon, just 1.19 million. Colbert and Kimmel average just over 200,000 in the key demographic of viewers 25-54.
Tellingly, these represent just 60% of numbers put up by the Fox Network’s late-night competitor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/greg-gutfeld-the-new-undisputed-king-of-late-night" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Greg Gutfeld Show</a>.
And then there’s production budgets, really the heart of the matter. Colbert’s show costs more than $100 million a year to produce, including Colbert’s $15 million salary. The problem for Colbert is that his show only brings in roughly $60 million in annual ad revenue.
Megyn Kelly, a former Fox TV host herself, estimates that Gutfeld’s budget for his successful forum is around $10 million. This doesn’t include his salary; the last numbers I saw shows Fox pays their unsung late-night star $7 million annually.
So, even if the total cost of the Greg Gutfeld Show is around $20 million, that’s still a fraction of the cost of legacy media’s failing late-night offerings. Which means there is still a way to make the late night format profitable.
Like its rivals, The Greg Gutfeld Show is certainly political in nature. Gutfeld isn’t Carson, and conservatives will likely feel more at home with Gutfeld and his rotating panel of conservative hosts. But unlike the other shows, Gutfeld is also entertaining, light-hearted, self-effacing, and, most importantly, funny.
In a way, Colbert’s demise is an apt metaphor for the sinking fortunes of the Democrat Party itself. You cannot alienate so many in a market without someone else seeing the opportunity your disregard presents while you steadily lose viewers, and influence. Whether one loves or hates Fox, they have a winning late-night formula that the mainstream media has abandoned by prioritizing divisive politics over entertainment.
Mike Wallace once asked Johnny Carson why he never got into serious subjects. Carson’s response is worth remembering:
<blockquote>“That’s not what I’m there for. Can’t they see that? Why do they think that just because you have a Tonight Show that you must deal in serious issues? That’s a danger. That’s a real danger. Once you start that, you start to get that self-important feeling that what you say has great import. And, you know, strangely enough, you could use that show as a forum, you could sway people. And I don’t think you should, as an entertainer.”</blockquote>
The legacy media should take Johnny’s advice. If they choose to go down the self-destructive path forged by Colbert and his ilk, then good riddance.

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk defended his work in President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration — through the Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — during a Tuesday appearance on Fox News&#8217; afternoon panel show &#8220;The Five.&#8221;
Regular liberal co-host Jessica Tarlov pressed the SpaceX CEO on his efforts, suggesting that he was using DOGE to benefit himself personally — and Musk quickly pointed out the fact that he was effectively under a microscope while he was working with the Trump administration, a fact that would make it very difficult for him pull off anything underhanded even if he wanted to do so.

Tarlov first declared herself a &#8220;liberal Tesla lover&#8221; — and informed Musk that she had &#8220;not thrown any Molotov cocktails recently&#8221; — before she began her line of questions regarding DOGE.
&#8220;I wanted to talk to you about what DOGE has been doing,&#8221; Tarlov said. &#8220;So you&#8217;ve been making cuts to a lot of the agencies that have opened investigations and regulatory battles with your companies. At the same time, you continue to get billions in government contracts, Tesla gets billions in subsidies — how do you explain that to the American people?&#8221;
&#8220;Everything that DOGE does is an open book,&#8221; Musk replied. &#8220;We are the most transparent action — most transparent organization in government ever! Every single DOGE action is listed on the DOGE.gov website, it&#8217;s also listed on the X handle. So if anyone has a concern about any one of those actions, they can bring that up, they can raise that.&#8221;
Musk went on to say that he knew DOGE would make mistakes, but that they would do their best to admit them and correct them as quickly as possible.
&#8220;Nobody bats a thousand,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I am under such an extreme spotlight, so much scrutiny, that it&#8217;s literally impossible for me to get away with anything nefarious — and obviously, nor do I wish to!&#8221;
He also took questions from co-host Greg Gutfeld, who asked when Musk would be willing to join his eponymous late night show — an invitation Musk said that he would be happy to accept. Gutfeld also asked Musk what advice he might give to young people who were struggling with fear of failure on how to be less &#8220;risk-averse.&#8221;

ABC News attempted to stir the pot with a Tuesday piece talking about the anxiety being caused in immigrant communities — even where the immigrants were in the United States legally — but Fox News host Greg Gutfeld said he could see what they were really up to.
Teasing the article inane X post, ABC News wrote, &#8220;President Donald Trump&#8217;s immigration policies already are affecting schools across the country, as officials find themselves responding to rising anxiety among parents and their children, including those who are here legally.&#8221;

The article dug into recent immigration raids, enacted by President Donald Trump&#8217;s Department of Homeland Security, and claimed that they were disrupting education in communities where immigrants lived in a number of ways.
In some places, the piece alleged, false alarms had caused panic among immigrant families. In others, real raids had resulted in fearful families keeping their children out of school. &#8220;And in Alice, Texas, a school official incorrectly told parents that Border Patrol agents might board school buses to check immigration papers,&#8221; the piece continued.
Instead of simply going about their daily lives, the article claimed, immigrant families have been struggling with the fear and anxiety that comes with &#8220;separating facts from rumor&#8221; over the raids.
The ABC News piece failed to mention that Border Czar Tom Homan has been very clear about his preference to work directly with law enforcement to first target those who had broken laws in addition to entering the United States illegally — and the raids were primarily the result of sanctuary cities and states refusing to cooperate.
Gutfeld wasn&#8217;t buying it, and he called out ABC News over the framing of the article: &#8220;step one: foment anxiety. step two: report on the anxiety. step three: pretend you didn&#8217;t cause the anxiety. step four: wonder why everyone hates the media,&#8221; he posted via X.

In a rather lengthy piece he dropped Tuesday on <a href="https://x.com/greggutfeld/status/1874117618249957480">X</a>, the Fox News host wrote that when a person looks back at the “horrible decisions” made in the last ten years related to things like crime/illegal immigration chaos, COVID, and even the mental competence of President Joe Biden, they need not look further than how it was all “excused or denied” by the legacy media to justify their “irrational opposition” to President-elect Donald Trump.
“Crime. If you admitted that progressive policies energized criminality and cost many innocent lives &#8211; that would put you on the side of Trump,” Gutfeld wrote for one of his examples. “‘So, you can&#8217;t do that,’ decides the media, so theft and violence became routine. Recidivism exploded.”
“Immigration. If you admitted that unfettered illegal immigration stressed all our country&#8217;s systems, as well as introducing more violent crime — that would put you on the side of Trump,” he added. “‘You can&#8217;t do that,’ decides the media. So, it kept going, and people died.”

“COVID. If you admitted that COVID came from China, likely a lab leak — then you were on the side of Trump,” Gutfeld continued. “‘So you [can&#8217;t] do that either — that would be racist,’ said the media. Instead, we embraced absurd notions about bat soup.”
Gutfeld pointed out that if a person reported on the idea that Biden “was unfit for office” that was just another example that “you were siding with Trump.”
He said those in the media decided that reports “must say that Joe is better than ever, and those who disagree are cruel,” which resulted in “a rudderless country sinking in chaos.”
“Looking back — it&#8217;s obvious. A mass delusion driven by bitterness, ego and an emotional infantilism brought this country to the brink,” the Fox News host said. “So when the media starts hitting the panic button, laugh at them. They caused this mess. We&#8217;ll clean it up. They no longer matter.”

On Friday, the jury indicated it was deadlocked over the manslaughter charge, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jury-in-daniel-penny-trial-says-theyre-deadlocked-over-manslaughter-charge">reported</a> at the time. The manslaughter charge was eventually dropped allowing the jury to deliberate on the lesser charge in an effort <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/heres-why-the-state-dropped-top-charge-in-daniel-penny-case-and-why-defense-is-calling-foul">to find a guilty verdict</a>. When the Jury returned to work on Monday, it took them less than an hour to return a not guilty verdict.

&#8220;All through the campaigns — I voted for you because I like policy,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I didn&#8217;t know you as a man. And I think when you don&#8217;t understand what a man fights for, you can get lost — especially with all the noise we&#8217;re seeing from fake news, etc., that created these pictures of you.&#8221;
Tyrus then painted a picture of the moments after &#8220;Gutfeld!&#8221; had wrapped the night they both appeared on the show together.

We go backstage, and I expected you to be like every politician or any celebrity I&#8217;ve body-guarded for,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;And you met my family. And you talked to my daughter. But it wasn&#8217;t just the fact that Trump took the time to talk to his daughter, Tyrus said, noting that just how attentive he had been was something else entirely.
&#8220;If nobody knew, you could have been her grandfather,&#8221; Tyrus exclaimed, adding, &#8220;You were talking about her horses and dreams. And I was sitting there and I was like &#8216;I have been so wrong about this man&#8217; because I never understood why you fight the way you fight. You&#8217;re a family man.&#8221;
&#8220;I am,&#8221; Trump agreed.
&#8220;You&#8217;re a father,&#8221; Tyrus said.
&#8220;And your daughter is a gorgeous — and your wife, the whole thing, you have got some set-up, I&#8217;ll tell you,&#8221; Trump said, prompting a laugh from Tyrus. &#8220;But your family&#8217;s great and you&#8217;re great, and you&#8217;ve really done something. Fox News&#8217; “Gutfeld!” show scored its highest ratings in the program’s history when former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> stopped by this week for the entire show.
On Wednesday night, Trump made a guest appearance on the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/greg-gutfeld" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Greg Gutfeld</a> talk show alongside regulars like Kat Timpf and Tyrus, where it averaged 4.9 million total viewers, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/gutfeld-draws-largest-audience-program-history-trump-appearance">Fox News</a> reported.
In the coveted age demographic of 25-54, the same hour had 744,000 viewers, the outlet noted. It was the program’s largest audience in both the key demo and total viewers since its launch in 2021.
Trump’s appearance was not only the largest on “Gutfeld!,” but also the show’s total viewership was the biggest in all of cable and broadcast primetime, beating out ABC’s &#8220;The Golden Bachelorette” and CBS’ &#8220;Survivor.”

During the hour-long program, Trump reflected on both assassination attempts against him &#8212; the one in Butler, Pennsylvania, at his rally in July where he was shot in the ear, leaving one supporter dead and two others injured, as well as on Sunday, when a 58-year-old man hid out for 12 hours near Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, allegedly to take a shot at him.

“Yeah, it’s true,” Trump said. “It’s pretty sad.”
“If they had told you that the shooter was there, would you have tried to take him out with your 3 wood?” Gutfeld later asked Trump.
“I think so,” Trump responded. “If I knew. Actually, the Secret Service did a great job. They saw the barrel of a gun &#8212; big gun &#8212; and it came out through bushes. And how many people would see that? He really was exceptional to have done it.”
During Trump’s appearance, the president also reacted to clips of celebrities slamming him in a segment titled, “Celebs can’t quit Donald Trump.” In one clip, Gutfeld played radio shock jock Howard Stern, who made news this week when he said that he didn’t hate Trump, just those who vote for the former president.
Trump then replied, “Well I watch and know most of them,” noting his long history of being on Stern’s show for a big part of the radio host’s career. “He [Stern] was great at that time, then he went woke.”
The former president’s appearance was his first on broadcast or cable late-night during an election cycle since 2016 when he was on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” the outlet noted.

On Wednesday, during Trump’s appearance on Fox News&#8217; “<a href="https://x.com/C_N_F__on__X/status/1836783605827228128">Gutfeld</a>” show, host Greg Gutfeld introduced a segment called “Celebs can’t quit Donald Trump.&#8221; It included clips from “Jimmy Kimmel Live” when Clooney admitted he thought that Trump might use the “power of the government” against him, but was “comforted in the fact that” Trump’s coming after Kimmel first.
Kimmel also read a post from <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4765706-donald-trump-george-clooney-joe-biden-withdraw-reelection-bid-2024/">Trump</a> in July in which he told Clooney to “get out of politics” and “go back to television.” On the show Tuesday, Clooney replied, “I will if he does.” Trump’s original post came after the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/george-clooney-joins-chorus-of-stars-telling-biden-its-time-to-drop-out-of-race">63-year-old actor</a> took out an op-ed calling on President Joe Biden to drop out of the race following Biden’s disastrous presidential debate against Trump.

Gutfeld noted the last clip “didn’t age well&#8221; for Kimmel or Combs, the latter of whom is currently in the news after being denied bail for a second time after being arraigned on racketeering and sex trafficking charges with the release of a New York grand jury indictment.
The host then asked Trump about the hatred he faces from celebs and shared that his theory is that stars like Clooney and Stern feel that way because the former president “puts their fame into the proper perspective when it’s dwarfed by somebody with more fame.&#8221;
“Well I watch and know most of them,” Trump said, noting his long history of being on Stern’s show for a big part of the radio host’s career. “He [Stern] was great at that time, then he went woke.”
“And since he’s gone woke, his ratings have gone down the tube,” he added. “And he sort of went anti-Trump for a couple of reasons … but he’s changed and he doesn’t do the ratings anymore.”
