<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A novel in the Young Adult (YA) genre, which was a &#8220;Good Morning America&#8221; YA Book Club selection, apparently includes graphic sex scenes of necrophilia, threesomes, and rape. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Sibylline,” written by Melissa de la Cruz, is advertised as “a heart-stopping dark academia romantasy series” in the YA genre. Typically, these books are aimed at middle and high school children, with characters around that same age range. “Sibylline” was published on February 3.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Uribe noted that in chapter 40, a character named Atticus dies, which is clearly indicated over the course of the chapter by characters Raven and Dorian. Some lines include, “He’s not breathing, he’s not moving,” “He’s dead–Atticus is dead,” “Atticus isn’t breathing,” “But he doesn’t move. Doesn’t wake,” “He’s dead,” and “he’s gone.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In chapter 41, told from Atticus’s perspective, those two characters attempt to bring Atticus back to life by engaging in sexual acts with him.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This narrative includes the lines, “Someone is undressing me,” “they are undressing themselves as well,” “Now Raven’s breast is against my mouth,” “Dorian presses his erection against my back,” “Raven’s hands are on my shaft, guiding me, and as I plunge into her, Dorian’s thrusting into me. And the three of us are making love with each other.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The book has been earning mostly one-star reviews on Amazon and Goodreads, with many readers noting that the themes are inappropriate for children and mentioning that there are no warnings on the book.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“[The book’s] audience is children and there are graphic descriptions of sexual acts between characters. Yes, the characters are older. No, they&#8217;re not always consenting,” one reviewer notes.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“The main three characters participate in a threesome that is graphic, and this book is listed as appropriate for 9th through 12th graders, which is completely insane… If we think that it’s appropriate to market sex let alone a threesome to 12-year-olds there’s a serious problem in this industry,” another person said.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“What a piece of filth. Please stop selling this book targeting pre-teen adolescents,” another reviewer shared. “I&#8217;m appalled at the gruesome, disgusting material that no child should read. What happens to these characters is beyond horrific and made me want to vomit. Glad I&#8217;m able to preview books before giving them to my child. This one ended up in the trash. I hope the author is investigated, because I just can&#8217;t understand the perverted imagination it would take to conjure up some of the scenes in this book.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Author de la Cruz is also the author of “The Isle of the Lost” (Descendants) book series, which was later adapted into the popular “Descendants” movies on Disney.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Disney/ABC did not immediately respond to The Daily Wire’s request for comment.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In a video he posted on his </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DCS74WZxOr2/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Instagram</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, Strahan said he wanted to address the backlash, saying that not placing his hand over his chest while the anthem played was in no way “protesting” or making some kind of statement.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“The only statement that should be made and that I wanna make is that I love the military,” Strahan said. “I’ve always loved the military, and I will always love the military. I do so many programs to help veterans and soldiers. I grew up on a military base with a father who was a major in the Army.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“My brother, my sister, my cousins, they all served in the military — I’m a military brat,” he added. “And so the fact of somebody saying that, you know, I’m unpatriotic, couldn’t be any further from the truth. And if you want the truth, I’ll tell you: The truth is that I was caught up in the moment.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I’m looking at all these young sailors standing there at attention before the national anthem played, and I’m thinking to myself, ‘How incredible. How incredible to be that young and to know that you wanna do this.’ Strahan continued. “Like, it’s such a commitment, but you’re willing to commit to something that you know gives us our freedoms, plain and simple. I’m just sitting there in amazement.”</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Thank you to all veterans and active service members who courageously risk their lives to protect us every day,” Strahan wrote. “Your selfless service is beyond measure. This is my hero, it is also my father, Maj. Gene W. Strahan, Sr.”</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">During the former NFL star&#8217;s &#8220;GMA&#8221; </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">segment on Wednesday, Strahan opened up about a recent setback his 20-year-old daughter, Isabella, experienced after starting chemotherapy to deal with </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">medulloblastoma, </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">a type of brain tumor.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;The last three days have been a little rough because she had a fever that kind of comes and goes,&#8221; Strahan told his co-hosts. &#8220;I had to take her to the hospital and thought she&#8217;d come home a few hours later. … It&#8217;s been three days, but hopefully she&#8217;ll be home today.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While Strahan said he&#8217;s personally doing well thanks to all the support he has at his workplace and from loved ones, &#8220;it&#8217;s tough to see her go through it.&#8221;</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The teen said that her condition was discovered in late October 2023. Isabella said she had the emergency surgery at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles to remove a four-inch mass on October 27, just one day before her 19th birthday. She also said she’ll undergo chemotherapy at Duke Children&#8217;s Hospital &amp; Health Center in North Carolina next month.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I&#8217;m feeling good. Not too bad,&#8221; Isabella told GMA anchor Robin Roberts. &#8220;[Chemo is] my next step. I&#8217;m ready for it to start and be one day closer to being over. &#8230;. I&#8217;m very excited for this whole process to wrap. But you just have to keep living every day, I think, through the whole thing.&#8221;</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Michael, a former </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nfl"><span style="font-weight: 400;">New York Giants</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> defensive end, was also there to share his thoughts during the interview. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I literally think that, in a lot of ways, I&#8217;m the luckiest man in the world, because I&#8217;ve got an amazing daughter,&#8221; Michael said. &#8220;I know she&#8217;s going through it, but I know that we&#8217;re never given more than we can handle and that she is going to crush this.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The former NFL star has four total children, including Tanita, 32, and Michael Jr., 29, with his first wife Wanda Hutchins; and Isabella and her twin sister Sophia, with his second wife, Jean Muggli.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Isabella went into detail about how the tumor was discovered. &#8220;I didn&#8217;t notice anything was off &#8217;til probably like October 1,&#8221; she told Roberts. &#8220;That&#8217;s when I definitely noticed headaches, nausea, couldn&#8217;t walk straight.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The college student brushed off the symptoms until they became more severe. She was throwing up blood by the end of the month, which finally prompted her to see a medical professional.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;That was when we decided, &#8216;You need to really go get a thorough checkup.&#8217; And thank goodness for the doctor,” Michael chimed in. “I feel like this doctor saved her life because she was thorough enough to say, &#8216;Let&#8217;s do the full checkup.'&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“It didn’t feel real,” the former Giants player continued. “I don&#8217;t really remember much. I just remember trying to figure out how to get to [Los Angeles] ASAP.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Michael said even though medulloblastoma is common, that didn’t help assuage his fears. &#8220;It’s still scary because it&#8217;s still so much to go through,” he said. “And the hardest thing to get over is to think that she has to go through this herself.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Isabella already completed six weeks of radiation. She plans to document the experience as part of a new YouTube series. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;It&#8217;s been like, two months of keeping it quiet, which is definitely difficult. I don&#8217;t wanna hide it anymore &#8217;cause it&#8217;s hard to always keep in,&#8221; Isabella told Roberts. &#8220;I hope to just kind of be a voice, and be [someone] who maybe [those who] are going through chemotherapy or radiation can look at.&#8221;</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Perspective is a big thing,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I&#8217;m grateful. I am grateful just to walk or see friends or do something, &#8217;cause when you can&#8217;t do something, it really impacts you.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Michael agreed. &#8220;You learn that you&#8217;re probably not as strong as you thought you were when you have to really think about the real things, and I realized that I need support from everybody,&#8221; he said. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;You think, &#8216;I&#8217;m the athlete, the tough guy, you know, I can come and handle, I&#8217;m the father in the family.&#8217; It is not about any of that. It doesn&#8217;t matter. And it&#8217;s really made me change my perspective on so many things in my life.&#8221;</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;During the holiday season and in light of the challenging times, Marilee&#8217;s sole focus has remained on the overall best interest of her 9-year-old daughter,&#8221; Fiebig shared in the update via her attorney. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;To that end T.J.&#8217;s lawyer and I have been working together to move their divorce forward privately, expeditiously and as amicably as possible. Notwithstanding, we continue to be disappointed by T.J&#8217;s lack of discretion, respect and sensitivity toward Marilee and the party&#8217;s daughter.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The statement concluded with a message for supporters, saying Feibig &#8220;has been touched by the outpouring of support&#8221; and is looking forward &#8220;to a new beginning in this new year.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Holmes and Fiebig have been married for 12 years. Meanwhile, Robach and her husband, former Melrose Place actor Andrew Shue, have been married for the same amount of time.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The scandal erupted in late November when reports revealed the affair between the “GMA” co-hosts. The situation became so extreme that they were suspended from their jobs.</span></p>

<p>Last week, a representative for Holmes and Robach stated, “They had been close friends for many years but this relationship started over the past few months, after they separated from their respective spouses in August. <p>Holmes, 45, has a nine-year-old daughter with wife, attorney Marilee Fiebig, 44, and another daughter and son from a prior relationship; Robach, 49, has two daughters from her first marriage and her husband, former Melrose Place actor Andrew Shue, 55, has three sons.</p>
<p>Transportation correspondent Gio Benitez and national norrespondent Stephanie Ramos are temporarily acting as the couple’s replacements.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Defensive end Carl Nassib, who was most recently a Las Vegas Raider but is now a free agent, told “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/good-morning-america">Good Morning America</a>” host and former NFL star Michael Strahan Tuesday he had to get up the nerve to <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CQZXu_8nyy_/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=7c0a539f-8c4e-473e-bc2d-ac43ddd43f9c">announce</a> on a video posted to Instagram he is gay.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“I stared at the phone for, like, an hour just looking at it, trying to hype myself up,” Nassib told Strahan, who also played defensive end. “The last thing I said was like, &#8216;You know what — for the kids.&#8217; And pressed post.&#8221;</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Nassib, who played at Penn State and was a third-round draft pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2016, said his teammates supported him when he came out. The 29-year-old lineman, whose brother Ryan was an NFL backup quarterback, said he believes most people support gay people coming out of the closet.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;We are making strides in a positive direction,&#8221; the 6-foot, 7-inch athlete said. &#8220;It won&#8217;t be a perfect road, and we just have to continue the course and make sure that we do it from a place of love and not from a place of animosity.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">In March, the Raiders <a href="https://www.raiders.com/news/raiders-support-carl-nassib-the-trevor-project-with-100-000-donation">donated</a> $100,000 to The Trevor Project, a suicide prevention charity for LGBTQ+ youth. The donation <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/carl-nassib-announces-partnership-with-the-trevor-project-will-match-donations">matched</a> the contribution Nassib made at the time of his announcement.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Nassib has played two years each for the Browns, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Raiders. In his time in Las Vegas, he started five of 27 games and had four combined sacks and an interception. For his career, he has 113 tackles and 22 sacks – half a sack less than Strahan tallied in his record-breaking 2001 season.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Nassib said he hopes to catch on with another team before the upcoming season.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;The best scenario for me is, like, the best opportunity to show what I got,” he said. “Got a lot in the tank.&#8221;</p>

<p>Another medical expert is suggesting that current testosterone suppression requirements for athletes is most likely &#8220;insufficient&#8221; for evening the playing field between transgender women and biologically female athletes.</p>
<p>As part of an exclusive Good Morning America segment on trans swimmer Lia Thomas, ABC reporter JuJu Chang also interviewed Dr. Michael Joyner, a medical expert with the Mayo Clinic.</p>
<p>Chang questioned Joyner whether &#8220;years of hormone therapy cannot put trans women in a place to compete with cisgender women.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I think that the evidence so far would suggest that period of a year, two years, three years, four years, is probably insufficient,&#8221; he said.</p>

<p>Joyner also shared his thoughts on testosterone advantages <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/29/us/lia-thomas-women-sports.html">in an interview with The New York Times</a>.</p>
<p>“You see the divergence immediately as the testosterone surges into the boys,&#8221; he said. &#8220;There are dramatic differences in performances.”</p>
<p>“There are social aspects to sport, but physiology and biology underpin it,” Joyner added. “Testosterone is the 800-pound gorilla.”</p>
<p>The NCAA Board of Governors <a href="https://www.ncaa.org/news/2022/1/19/media-center-board-of-governors-updates-transgender-participation-policy.aspx">updated</a> its transgender participation policy in January, requiring transgender athletes to document “sport-specific” testosterone levels within their sport’s approved range at the beginning of the season and ahead of championship selections.</p>
<p>“We are steadfast in our support of transgender student-athletes and the fostering of fairness across college sports,” John DeGioia, chair of the NCAA board and president of Georgetown University, said in a statement at the time.</p>
<p>“It is important that NCAA member schools, conferences and college athletes compete in an inclusive, fair, safe and respectful environment and can move forward with a clear understanding of the new policy,” he added.</p>
<p>But many parents and athletes do not believe this is enough — and the Times cited peer-reviewed studies that demonstrate that the fastest biologically male transgender athletes still have a &#8220;substantial edge&#8221; over the fastest biologically female athletes even after testosterone suppression.</p>
<p>Thomas is a great example of this: the transgender athlete shot up in national rankings after entering women&#8217;s sports, ranking 32nd in the men&#8217;s 1,650-yard freestyle and then eight in the women&#8217;s 1,650-yard freestyle, the Times reported.</p>
<p>In the men&#8217;s 200-yard freestyle, Thomas had ranked 554th. This year, Thomas tied for fifth place with swimmer Riley Gaines in that same race at the women&#8217;s 2022 NCAA championships (Gaines said that an NCAA official gave Thomas the fifth place trophy over Gaines, since they only had one).</p>
<p>Gaines <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-left-there-with-no-trophy-ncaa-female-swimmer-who-tied-for-fifth-with-trans-athlete-says-officials-put-lia-thomas-ahead-of-her">first spoke out</a> about her frustration with the event in an interview with The Daily Wire, insisting, &#8220;We need to create fair boundaries that protect the integrity of women in sports.&#8221;</p>
<p class="css-at9mc1 evys1bk0">The Times noted that Thomas ranked 65th in the men&#8217;s 500-yard freestyle, but won the 500-yard freestyle at the NCAA&#8217;s swimming as a female.</p>
<p class="css-at9mc1 evys1bk0">Dr. Ross Tucker, a physiologist who spoke with the Times, said that “Lia Thomas is the manifestation of the scientific evidence.&#8221;</p>
<p class="css-at9mc1 evys1bk0">“The reduction in testosterone did not remove her biological advantage,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>The Times story comes ahead of the release of The Daily Wire&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/videos/what-is-a-woman-official-trailer">What Is A Woman</a> documentary, in which Matt Walsh examines the current controversy surrounding gender and biology.</p>
