Actress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/goldie-hawn">Goldie Hawn</a> weighed in on the pervasiveness of crime in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/los-angeles">Los Angeles</a>, revealing that her own home has been burglarized twice in four months.
The 78-year-old made the comments during an appearance on the <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/goldie-hawn-pt-1-wants-to-solve-the-problem-not-talk-about-it/id1676166337?i=1000658724863">SiriusXM podcast</a> &#8220;Let&#8217;s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa.&#8221;
&#8220;What if we couldn&#8217;t live in L.A, where would we live? We both decided, I think it&#8217;s Palm Desert (California). … It&#8217;s so safe,&#8221; Hawn told Ripa of herself and Kurt Russell, her longtime boyfriend of four decades.
&#8220;It&#8217;s just because L.A. is terrible. I mean, we were robbed once,” she added. 
Hawn went on to describe what happened the first time her home was burglarized. She said she and Russell were out of the house for just two hours before coming back home to discover what happened.
&#8220;We came back and went in the house. I went up to the stairs and I walked into my closet. I just lost it,&#8221; Hawn said. &#8220;They had broken in from the balcony to our bedroom, our closets.&#8221;
She continued, &#8220;And they completely knocked down my door, which is a safe door, so they&#8217;re very, very sophisticated, and they got a lot of my goodies, if you know what I mean.&#8221;
The Academy Award-winning actress said she assumed it was something she would only experience once, but that wasn’t the case. &#8220;So, I&#8217;m thinking, &#8216;Oh, my God, so the chances are, I guess that&#8217;s it,'&#8221; Hawn told Ripa. &#8220;It&#8217;s gotta be. The odds are that&#8217;s not gonna happen again.&#8221;
But then, four months later, that’s exactly what happened. The actress said she was home alone with her dog when she heard a noise.
&#8220;I hear this big thump upstairs — and I was alone; Kurt wasn&#8217;t there — and I went, &#8216;What the hell was that?'&#8221; she explained.

&#8220;It was just like, was that a sonic boom? Did somebody jump somewhere? And as it turned out, the next day, we discovered that they were trying to get in my bedroom while I was in the house.&#8221;
&#8220;That&#8217;s terrifying,&#8221; Ripa replied. 
&#8220;I couldn&#8217;t believe it. What is happening here?&#8221; Hawn said, adding that she has had additional protection since the incidents. &#8220;I&#8217;ve had a guard, especially when I&#8217;m alone now,&#8221; Hawn said. &#8220;I&#8217;m never without a guard. We have a nice relationship with our guard.&#8221;

Simpson</a> was on the run in 1994 following the murder of Simpson&#8217;s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
During Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson’s recent joint appearance on &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5A9eBb_IXeg">Jimmy Kimmel Live</a>,&#8221; the two children of the famed actress — who&#8217;s been with Russell since 1983 — said the &#8220;Overboard&#8221; star has this odd way of &#8220;always crossing paths with killers. Like, serial killers.&#8221;
&#8220;It was the big chase … O.J. was on the 405 [freeway] and Kurt all of a sudden just went, &#8216;Oh, he&#8217;s going home,'&#8221; the 44-year-old actress told the host. &#8220;Next thing you know, he gets in the car and he leaves and he goes to O.J.&#8217;s house.&#8221;

&#8220;I don&#8217;t know why!&#8221; she added. &#8220;Just to see what happened, you know? And we&#8217;re all like, &#8216;Where are you going?&#8217; He&#8217;s like, &#8216;I&#8217;ll be right back.&#8217; And then he goes with his friend.&#8221;
The &#8220;Almost Famous&#8221; star said the next thing they knew they saw Russell on the TV news coverage from Simpson&#8217;s home &#8220;behind the caution tape.&#8221;
Kate&#8217;s 47-year-old actor brother added, &#8220;Actually, he was on camera when <a href="http://decider.com/tag/O.J.-simpson">O.J. Simpson</a> drove into his house. He was in the driveway. You could see him on KTLA, like, &#8216;Huh? That&#8217;s dad!&#8217; I was like, &#8216;What is he doing there?'&#8221;
And apparently Simpson wasn’t the only strange run-in the &#8220;Tombstone&#8221; star has had. Oliver said Russell reportedly had a &#8220;run-in with Ted Bundy&#8221; and also someone in the <a href="http://decider.com/tag/charles-Manson"> Charles Manson</a> gang. However, the &#8220;Fools Gold&#8221; star interjected on the idea of the famed actor&#8217;s latter two run-ins and said &#8220;I might not believe either of those stories.&#8221;
Regardless, Oliver continued telling the story of how &#8220;The Thing&#8221; star was living in a county in Colorado at the time when serial killer <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/notorious-serial-killer-ted-bundy-escape-custody/story?id=61032623" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bundy</a> escaped custody there. Russell was camping and they said he left his campsite to get a beer and when he returned his food was gone.
After Bundy was caught, Oliver said the murderer recounted being able to stay on the run after finding a campsite and eating the camper&#8217;s food when they left.
<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/look-i-understood-the-feeling-o-j-simpson-sympathizes-with-will-smith-wanting-to-lash-out" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Simpson</a> was acquitted for the double murder of Nicole and Goldman in 1995 and was later convicted for armed robbery in Las Vegas in 2008 before being paroled in 2017.
