Geraldo Rivera raved about President Donald Trump during a recent appearance on NewsNation, saying that his ability to broker the still-unfolding ceasefire agreement between Israel and the terror group Hamas had earned him credibility on the global stage.
Rivera, who has often been at odds with Trump despite years of friendship, said that the peace deal put Trump on par with any celebrity — even the late Elvis Presley.

Rivera expressed similar views when the deal was first announced, saying, “Could not have happened, but for Trump. Hamas was invited to surrender, not to negotiate. A ‘told you so’ moment for the peace through strength crowd.”

Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville literally laughed off the idea that President Joe Biden, who was in New York City for a fundraiser at the time, should have taken some time to drop by the funeral of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-calls-for-return-to-law-and-order-at-wake-for-slain-ny-police-officer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fallen NYPD officer</a> Jonathan Diller.
Carville, who joined fellow guest Geraldo Rivera in a discussion with NewsNation host Chris Cuomo, called the notion &#8220;idiotic&#8221; and asserted that fundraising schedules should not be disrupted when police officers were killed: &#8220;Unfortunately, it happens about 120 times a year.&#8221;

Cuomo began by pointing out the stark comparisons that many had made — namely that while Biden was hobnobbing with former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and shilling for high-dollar donations, former President Donald Trump was speaking at Diller&#8217;s funeral just minutes away — and he argued that Biden could have undercut the bad optics by simply making an appearance, however brief.
Carville just laughed.
&#8220;James, when you&#8217;re done laughing,&#8221; Cuomo prompted.
&#8220;Well, I think — I think it&#8217;s idiotic,&#8221; Carville replied. &#8220;I&#8217;ll tell you why: they have a fundraising schedule, they have Radio City Music Hall, they&#8217;re out there raising money, they got guest lists, they got everything done. Unfortunately, it happens about 120 times a year, a police officer was shot.&#8221;
&#8220;And so you&#8217;re really saying he should just unring the entire bell.&#8221; Carville then abruptly pivoted to complain about conservatives who had objected to the president&#8217;s decision to honor &#8220;Transgender Day of Visibility&#8221; even though it coincided with Easter Sunday, claiming that people just wanted to always be outraged about something.
&#8220;No, James, that was an easy one. It&#8217;s a layup,&#8221; Cuomo protested, saying that all Biden really had to do was make an appearance at the fallen officer&#8217;s funeral. &#8220;You stop by, you see the family, you give them some private moments, you get back in the car, you go to the fundraiser. That&#8217;s not a stretch.&#8221;

The 79-year-old ex-friend of former President Donald Trump said that “under no circumstances do I think Donald Trump should be president of the United States again, and that’s an important message I am committed to bringing to the American people between now and November 2024.”
He said that his views about Trump caused &#8220;friction&#8221; on the show.
“I’m 80 years old,” he said. “I don’t want the friction. ‘The Five’ is too intimate a place and it gets too personal.”

Rivera shrugged off President Joe Biden&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-admin-unveils-proposal-for-landmark-nationwide-crackdown-on-gas-cars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">latest move</a> to force Americans to adopt EVs — stricter emissions standards put forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) — saying that he&#8217;d simply make his next vehicle an electric Bentley.

Gutfeld clearly struggled to contain his frustration, and cohost Judge Jeanine Pirro asked him to weigh in on the topic.
&#8220;I&#8217;m trying to control myself,&#8221; Gutfeld said.
&#8220;Why?&#8221; Rivera asked.
&#8220;Because you just said EV Bentley,&#8221; Gutfeld said, prompting a laugh from cohost Jesse Watters. &#8220;You just explained why people like you find it so easy to sermonize about electric vehicles — because you can afford it.&#8221;

&#8220;Are you attacking me?&#8221; Rivera asked then, and Gutfeld said that he was.
&#8220;Yes, I am attacking you. You deserve it,&#8221; the &#8220;Gutfeld!&#8221; host continued.
Rivera interrupted briefly, saying that once Gutfeld was finished, he reserved the right to offer a counterattack.
&#8220;Well, no, the thing is — what I&#8217;m pointing out is you said &#8216;EV Bentley&#8217; to our audience, right? Who has to pay for the charging stations? Our audience, right? Who has to pay for the transition from gas to electric stoves? Our audience,&#8221; Gutfeld said.
&#8220;Who has to pay for the cancer they get when they — from the gas-powered cars?&#8221; Rivera interrupted.
&#8220;The transition — ah, God, you don&#8217;t even have the science to back that up,&#8221; Gutfeld added. &#8220;You have to bear the brunt of your beliefs. You don&#8217;t, because you can afford an EV Bentley. We&#8217;re telling our audience to suck on it.&#8221;
Rivera pivoted then, asking Gutfeld if he&#8217;d be willing to share what kind of car he drove — and Gutfeld obliged, mentioning that he drove a Chrysler and saying that it had come with a $45,000 price tag.
&#8220;It&#8217;s no Bentley,&#8221; he said.
Rivera tried a different tack, recalling when he had first moved to California and saying that the air pollution at the time had been so bad that he couldn&#8217;t see across the freeway — but Gutfeld pushed back.
&#8220;You stepped in it,&#8221; he said, adding, &#8220;I&#8217;ll back off. I&#8217;m going to back off.&#8221;

Rivera tweeted his demand along with the assertion that, in spite of near-constant scrutiny, no one had managed to dig up anything more damaging to the president&#8217;s son than a number of ill-advised selfies and some drug use.
&#8220;Hunter Biden has been investigated for almost five years,&#8221; Rivera said. &#8220;Aside from fact he&#8217;s been a junkie dirtbag nothing remotely criminal has been uncovered. Put up or shut up.&#8221;

&#8220;Geraldo still doesn’t get it — after 50 years in journalism you have to assume he simply doesn’t want to get it,&#8221; Michael Caputo responded, and a number of others quickly followed suit.
They pointed to the 2020 presidential election — and the fact that multiple outlets and social media platforms had actively suppressed The New York Post&#8217;s bombshell report on Hunter Biden&#8217;s now-infamous laptop. Many of them argued that he hadn&#8217;t really been investigated until after the election was over, when other outlets slowly began to concede that the laptop was real and did, in fact, belong to the younger Biden.
But it was The Federalist&#8217;s Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway who did exactly as Rivera asked — she &#8220;put up&#8221; multiple crimes that may have occurred — and she may have given him more than he bargained for.

Perino, who grew up on a ranch, argued that from the beginning the situation had been misread by people who had never spent any time around horses and had no idea what they were looking at. &#8220;They convicted these guys before they even investigated,&#8221; she said, adding that the only thing the agents deserved — after being relegated to desk duty immediately after the incident — was an apology.
Co-host Jesse Watters joked that if the CBP agents had hoisted the migrants onto their horses and ridden them into the country, Biden might have given them awards instead.
&#8220;Nonsense! I defer to Dana, who is very measured in her emotions and when she says this is the worst thing she’d seen, I respect that deeply,&#8221; Rivera said in response. &#8220;Because I know you don’t —&#8221;
Perino interrupted, noting that the baby formula shortage was &#8220;really bad too.&#8221;
Rivera went on to claim that when it came to immigration, Haitians often seemed to get &#8220;the short end of the stick&#8221; — arguing that they were turned back at the border in greater numbers than migrants from other nations.
Perino objected, but Rivera pivoted then to address the Border Patrol, saying, &#8220;This is, you must admit, when you look at this visual — put up a shot, put up any of the shots of that series —&#8221;
&#8220;That&#8217;s so wrong!&#8221; Perino interrupted. &#8220;You&#8217;re a lawyer, how can you say this?&#8221;
&#8220;You&#8217;re a lawyer,&#8221; co-host Greg Gutfeld echoed.

Fox News host Jesse Watters wasn&#8217;t quite convinced when &#8220;The Five&#8221; co-host Geraldo Rivera floated an age-based weapons ban that would prevent 18-year-olds from purchasing certain firearms.
Rivera cited the ages of several recent <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/breaking-shooting-at-texas-elementary-school-leaves-at-least-15-dead/">mass shooting suspects</a> and argued that even at 18, teenagers were not mature enough to be trusted with certain types of weapons — but Watters pushed back, arguing that if they were old enough to die for their country, they should be old enough to exercise their constitutional rights.

Judge Jeanine Pirro began the segment by asking Rivera what measures he thought schools should implement in their efforts to keep students safe, and he said that the unfortunate reality — as several of his co-hosts had already noted — that people intent on causing harm often found a way around such security measure in order to do it.
Rivera then reflected briefly on gubernatorial hopeful Beto O&#8217;Rourke (D-TX) — who crashed Governor Greg Abbott&#8217;s Wednesday <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/very-clearly-staged-cbs-reporter-says-beto-used-seat-holders-to-slip-into-abbott-presser-unnoticed/">press conference</a> to scold him for failing to enact gun control measures — and President Joe Biden, who <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/its-just-sick-biden-uses-school-shooting-address-to-slam-gun-lobby/">took aim</a> at the &#8220;gun lobby&#8221; during his Tuesday remarks addressing the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
&#8220;What is offensive about Beto O’Rourke — and to a different degree to the President of the United States is railing against the gun lobby last night — no one is suggesting anything that really can guarantee total protection for our children,&#8221; Rivera continued. &#8220;But we can suggest some concrete steps.&#8221;
Rivera went on to say that it was important to &#8220;recognize the erratic nature of teenagers,&#8221; and he listed off the ages of several recent mass shooting suspects before suggesting &#8220;a Juvenile assault weapons ban.&#8221;
&#8220;If you can&#8217;t buy a beer, if you can&#8217;t get a license to drive a semi, until you are 21, how is it okay for you to be able to buy legally a weapon of war, an assault weapon when you are 18?&#8221; Rivera asked.
&#8220;Well, you can fight and die for your country at 18,&#8221; Watters pushed back.
&#8220;But then you&#8217;re monitored by corporals and sergeants and officers —&#8221; Rivera continued.
&#8220;You can’t get a handgun until you are 21 legally,&#8221; co-host Martha MacCallum objected.

After a brief update from reporters, the discussion went to the panel — and co-host Greg Gutfeld noted that there still was not a lot of information being released about the <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/breaking-shooting-at-texas-elementary-school-leaves-at-least-15-dead/">details of the shooting</a> beyond the number of dead and injured.
&#8220;That is true, however, if it is indeed confirmed he killed the grandmother first, so there is some family beef going on,&#8221; Rivera began. &#8220;The level — to go to Kellyanne’s point — the level of spite that it would take for someone with a weapon, a rifle and a handgun, to go into the most vulnerable population on earth, these little children who are defenseless, essentially, and to commit this kind of slaughter, it speaks to a cold-blooded, horrific, disgusting person who has no regard — isn&#8217;t — to call them a narcissist is to understate the self-centered rage and disgusting horror that this man would perpetrate and take children away from their parents for what?&#8221;
&#8220;There&#8217;s no possible justification. This son of a b*** — I’m so glad he’s dead,&#8221; Rivera continued. &#8220;This — this is beyond the pale. This is Sandy Hook again.&#8221;
&#8220;We know from the reporting that he went out firing,&#8221; co-host Jesse Watters added. &#8220;He had to be taken out by local officials there and did not take his own life, we believe he was killed by law enforcement, judge.&#8221;
Watters then turned the question over to Judge Jeanine Pirro, who minced no words in her reaction to the situation.
&#8220;If he was killed by law enforcement, obviously it&#8217;s an appropriate, legitimate ending. And you know, I&#8217;m not going to call him a narcissist, I&#8217;m going to call him an animal,&#8221; she said decisively. &#8220;Anyone who kills children, that many children, in one fell swoop is an animal, I don’t care.&#8221;
&#8220;I agree,&#8221; Rivera said.

Geraldo Rivera and Greg Gutfeld got into a heated exchange over abortion during Wednesday&#8217;s broadcast of Fox News&#8217; juggernaut panel show &#8220;The Five.&#8221;
The panel discussed the fallout still raining down over the leaked early opinion draft that indicated the Supreme Court might be poised to overturn landmark abortion cases Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, returning control over abortion access and restrictions to the states.
Rivera weighed in on that, pointing out the fact that his home state of Ohio was likely to impose <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/oklahoma-governor-signs-texas-style-abortion-ban-into-law/">stricter regulations</a> limiting abortions.
&#8220;What am I going to tell my daughters now? That they don’t have control over their body? That they can’t make those choices for themselves?&#8221; he asked.
The show then cut to a series of clips of media personalities responding to the early draft, arguing that overturning Roe could result in everything from <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/i-see-fascism-down-the-line-joy-behar-bizarrely-claims-if-roe-goes-conservatives-might-bring-back-segregation/">bans on same sex and interracial marriage</a> to <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/is-that-legit-biden-claims-lgbtq-students-could-be-banned-from-schools-if-court-flips-roe/">segregating LGBTQ children</a> in schools.
&#8220;This is why pro-lifers win, because they can state their case so plainly,&#8221; Gutfeld responded when the clips ended. &#8220;You ask somebody why they are pro-life, they will say because abortion takes a life and we believe life is sacred. You could disagree with that, but you can&#8217;t disagree with the simplicity of it, right? But the problem with the pro-choicers is they do not have the balls to state their case plainly. Like I prefer freedom over fetuses. Don’t sit here and come up with all these other things like it’s going to be interracial marriage next.&#8221;
“‘My body, my choice,&#8217; how much simpler could you get?&#8221; Rivera objected.
&#8220;Let me finish, you already did your ad hominem,&#8221; Gutfeld waved Rivera back. &#8220;You insulted a few people there.&#8221;
&#8220;We talked about this, people are more concerned about what they lose than what they will gain,&#8221; Gutfeld continued, arguing that the pro-abortion rights argument was all about losing freedom and losing opportunities, and no one ever stopped to consider the gain that came with bringing a new life into the world.
“The issue here is that people need to imagine, right? They can&#8217;t step back and see how pro-choice arguments are driven by refusal to imagine what that baby could be,&#8221; he added. &#8220;But then when that baby bees, then suddenly it changes, right? And they have to create reasons, they have to create all of these reasons to be pro-choice. Rather than just be honest and say, &#8216;Yeah, it kills an unborn kid, but I prefer my freedom.&#8217; That’s all you gotta say. You’ll get so much more respect.&#8221;
&#8220;The other thing that drives me crazy, now that I’m on my soapbox, is it used to be even the pro-choicers would admit that abortion was an ugly thing,&#8221; Gutfeld continued. &#8220;But they felt it had to be a necessary evil, something that would be safe and rare. That was the argument you always heard. But now when you go anywhere on social media, it’s something to celebrate, to cherish, right?&#8221;
