1. FBI Searching For Illegal Aliens Smuggled In By Individual With ISIS Ties
The FBI is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-searching-for-illegal-aliens-smuggled-in-by-individual-with-isis-ties-cnn-report">reportedly searching</a> for more than a dozen Uzbek illegal immigrants who are believed to have been smuggled into the U.S. by an ISIS-linked individual.
On Tuesday, CNN reported that earlier this year, Uzbekistan nationals were smuggled into the U.S. and then applied for asylum. The individuals were reportedly screened for any “red flags.” It wasn’t until after their release that the FBI discovered an Uzbekistan smuggling ring operating in cooperation with a Turkish smuggler who reportedly is connected to ISIS. After the discovery, top national security and administration officials held emergency meetings. National Security Council spokesman Adrienne Watson told CNN that there is no indication the individuals are terrorists. However, other government sources told CNN that more than 15 illegal aliens are still under criminal scrutiny. It’s unclear where these individuals are in the U.S. and how quickly they might be found.
Rapid  Reaction: As discussed earlier, some Biden officials told CNN that this fiasco represents the administration’s efforts to secure the border and is “an example of the system working as it should.” Apparently, under leftist logic, Americans should take comfort in the fact the U.S. responded to a potential threat — after the illegal aliens were allowed into the country in the first place.
One would imagine that “an example of the system working as it should” would be as follows: Illegal aliens arrive at the border. U.S. officials deport them back to their home country. A wall is built. The message is understood around the world: Do not come.
Yet the Biden administration has no interest in doing any of that. And so, the U.S. government has now welcomed dozens of improperly-vetted foreign nationals who were aided and abetted by an individual with ties to ISIS. And the president and his ilk see that as a win.
2. Illegal Alien Allegedly Crashes Into School Bus, Killing Small Child. Biden’s ‘Catch And Release’ Under Scrutiny.
Meanwhile, in Ohio, an illegal alien is accused of crashing his minivan into a school bus in Clark County last week, causing the bus to flip, resulting in dozens injured and the death of an 11-year-old boy.
35-year-old Hermanio Joseph, a Haitian who was in the country illegally, has officially been charged with aggravated vehicular manslaughter. Joseph entered the U.S. in 2022 and was released by the Biden administration with a “notice to appear” at an immigration hearing. He is currently in Clark County Jail on $100,000 bond. ICE has placed a detainer on him.
Rapid Reaction: Yet again, like the story about Uzbek nationals, &#8220;catch and release&#8221; is to blame for this man being in the country in the first place.

According to recent data, at least <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/immigration/two-million-immigrants-border-here-indefinitely">two million illegal aliens have</a> been allowed into the country under that policy. Such individuals are typically given an official notice to appear for a court date, often at a to-be-determined future date. Experts say that there is currently a years-long backlog, meaning that these individuals are free to roam about the country, often untracked. That data also does not include the hundreds of thousands who cross the border undetected each year under Biden.
Some <a href="https://apnews.com/article/immigration-courts-wait-54bb5f7c18c4c37c6ca7f28231ff0edf">illegal aliens</a> aren’t even given court dates. Others <a href="https://apnews.com/article/immigration-courts-wait-54bb5f7c18c4c37c6ca7f28231ff0edf">have to wait 10 years</a> for a hearing. The whole thing is a disaster.
This is just the latest heartbreaking tragedy wrought by illegal immigration. 
3. Sayonara Suarez
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/francis-suarez-becomes-first-republican-to-drop-out-of-primary-race">suspending</a> his bid for the presidency and dropping out of the 2024 race. The announcement came today, nearly one week after the first GOP primary debate, which Suarez failed to qualify for. The two-term mayor tweeted the following: “While I have decided to suspend my campaign for President, my commitment to making this a better nation for every American remains.”
Rapid Reaction: Did anybody even remember that he was running?
4. Vivek Vs. Eminem
The Real Slim Shady has stood up and is demanding that GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy stop using his music. Rapper Eminem and music licenser BMI sent a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/eminem-tells-ramaswamy-to-stop-using-his-music">cease and desist letter</a> to Ramaswamy’s campaign demanding the campaign stop using the rapper’s song “Lose Yourself.” Earlier this month, the entrepreneur-turned-presidential candidate rapped the song at the Iowa State Fair.
On August 23, a BMI rep told Ramaswamy’s lawyer that Eminem objected to “the campaign’s use of Eminem’s musical compositions,” and that he wanted his songs removed from the agreement. The Ramaswamy campaign issued the following response: &#8220;To the American people’s chagrin, we will have to leave the rapping to the real slim shady.&#8221;
Rapid Reaction: In politics, it&#8217;s better to be talked about than to not be talked about at all. And right now, it seems the entire media landscape is talking about Vivek. Per the <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/2024_republican_presidential_nomination-7548.html">RealClearPolitics average of polling</a>, his stock is currently rising in the 2024 election.
5. Paper Straws: Bad For You, Bad For The Planet
Do you hate paper straws? Well, good news — you might have a medical and environmental excuse to never use them again. A <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2023/08/28/paper-straws-worse-than-plastic-pfas-study/70702090007/">new study out of Belgium published in the journal Food Additives and Contaminants</a>, suggests that “forever chemicals” or “PFAS” were found in the majority of both paper and bamboo straws tested. Such chemicals may have the potential to cause cancer and other ailments, and also negatively affect the environment. Per the paper, eighteen different PFAS were detected in total — and the most common one was banned globally in 2020. According to the study, plastic straws are actually better for you and the planet.

Trump, and suggested that he would be open to pardoning him if convicted in any of his four indictments,&#8221; the report added.

Miami Mayor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/miami-mayor-francis-suarez-announces-gop-presidential-bid-despite-support-for-left-wing-positions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Francis Suarez</a> admitted on Friday night that his campaign has not qualified for the first Republican presidential debate, despite claiming hours earlier that he had met &#8220;all&#8221; the requirements to get on the stage.
&#8220;I am excited to announce that I have met all of the criteria to qualify for the @GOP ’s first primary debate,&#8221; Suarez said early on Friday.
However, The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/08/01/us/elections/republican-debate-qualifications.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> that Suarez has not yet qualified for the debate because he does not meet the polling requirements. The RealClearPolitics average, which is not included in the RNC&#8217;s requirements, shows Suarez is only at .3% nationally.
Several hours after his post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Suarez admitted during a CNN interview that he had not qualified for the debate.
Suarez said that the RNC has not yet certified the number of donors that he says he has and he still has not met the polling requirements. He cited a poll from Kaplan Strategies that shows him at 2% nationally, although he noted that the RNC has not yet certified the poll.
CNN host Kaitlan Collins noted that Suarez still needs multiple additional polls showing him over the 1% threshold to get on the debate stage.
&#8220;So, but you haven&#8217;t actually gotten that number yet, to where the RNC says, &#8216;Yes, you&#8217;ve made it?'&#8221; Collins <a href="https://twitter.com/kaitlancollins/status/1692729068536340977?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asked</a>.
&#8220;Yes, they have not yet given me sort of that final certification,&#8221; he said.

The Associated Press later <a href="https://twitter.com/sppeoples/status/1692568610625958244" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that senior officials at the RNC said that Suarez has not qualified for the debate.
Suarez later said that he agreed with prior remarks that he made that any candidate who did not make the debate stage should drop out — including himself.

Republican Miami Mayor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/francis-suarez" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Francis Suarez</a> admitted during an interview with Hugh Hewitt this week that he was completely unaware of one of the largest human rights issues in the world.
Suarez, a long-shot Republican presidential candidate, was asked by Hewitt about the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/uyghur" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Uyghurs</a>, a minority group in China who are locked up in concentration camps and forced into re-education facilities.
After talking briefly about China, Hewitt asked Suarez, &#8220;Will you be talking about the Uyghurs in your campaign?&#8221;

Reports have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/extremely-sadistic-communist-china-gang-rapes-religious-minorities-in-concentration-camps-former-detainees-allege">surfaced</a> in recent years of violent gang rape against the Uyghurs and other religious minorities detained in the Chinese concentration camps in Xinjiang.
Qelbinur Sidik, who was forced to teach inside the camps, made allegations in an interview published by CNN in 2021. Sidik’s story begins by noting that a policewoman told her very early on that she had been assigned to investigate reports of rapes and torture taking place at the facility. Sidik said that the policewoman described to her how the male guards at the camp often bragged while drinking about how they “raped and tortured girls.”
Sidik said that her first encounter with new detainees was approximately 100 men and women who were chained in shackles around their hands and feet. She said that even those that came in physically and mentally strong eventually were broken by the brutal system that the communist Chinese had installed in the camps, where an estimated nearly 2 million religious minorities are being detained. She said that she witnessed “horrific traged[ies]” while working at the camp where women were regularly “crying loudly.”
Another witness, Tursunay Ziyawudun, told CNN that she committed no crime when she was sent to the camps. After a month in the camp, authorities released Ziyawudun, only to arrest her a short time later for a nine-month “nightmare.” Ziyawudun, who is now in the U.S., told CNN that large numbers women were often crammed into small spaces, allowed minimal time to basic facilities like toilets, and were brutally punished for small things like using the facilities for too long.
During an interrogation session, Ziyawudun said that she was beaten so intensely that she passed out. Another time, guards forced her on to a table where they “inserted a stun baton” inside her and “twisted and shocked” her until she “blacked out” from the pain. A couple of weeks later she was ganged raped by several men, an experience she said happened to her multiple times while in the camps.
“They were extremely sadistic, causing pain and damage to the body by beating and smacking my head on the wall,” Ziyawudun said, “It was their way of punishing us.”

Miami Mayor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/miami-mayor-francis-suarez-announces-gop-presidential-bid-despite-support-for-left-wing-positions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Francis Suarez</a> repeatedly refused to say if he supports building a wall on the U.S. southern border to help stem the tide of millions of illegal aliens pouring into the country under the Biden administration during an interview on Monday.
Suarez made the remarks during a Fox Business interview with host Stuart Varney when asked if he would continue building the wall, something that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has pledged to do.
“The border is an enormous issue,” Suarez said. “We have 80,000 to 90,000 Americans dying every single year from fentanyl that’s coming through our border that’s being pumped into our country from China.”
Varney pressed Suarez again on the matter, asking, “Well — will you build a wall and put the ones who are here already — put them to work? Will you do those two things?”
Suarez again sidestepped talking about the wall, adding that he would “dedicate whatever the resources that are necessary.”
“Also, discussing it with the law enforcement partners that are on the ground to make sure that our border is secure, whatever that is, I will do it,” he added.
“The second part is the people that are here, as you said, you know, everyone agrees that those people cannot be &#8230; teleported out of the country,” he continued. “So, we have to find a way to understand who they are, to make sure that they’re not national security threats, to make sure that they’re paying their taxes and, yes, to give them some sort of legal status so that small businesses across this country can rely on them.”
