Former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> promised at a rally in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/pennsylvania" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pennsylvania</a> on Monday to cut energy and electricity prices in half in 12 months if elected president in November. 
Trump made the comments during a rally in the town of Indiana where he focused on the economy, immigration, and energy, which polls show are his strongest issues. The event took place at the Ed Fry Arena at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex with a crowd of about 5,000 as <a href="https://www.post-gazette.com/news/election-2024/2024/09/23/donald-trump-smithton-indiana-pennsylvania-rally/stories/202409230065" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hundreds</a> waited outside. 
&#8220;It&#8217;s great to be back in this beautiful commonwealth with thousands of proud, hard-working American patriots,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;We&#8217;re here today because early voting begins in Pennsylvania over the next two weeks, and we need each and every one of you. Don&#8217;t take anything for granted. We have to win Pennsylvania.&#8221;
During the speech, which came after several other campaign stops in Pennsylvania, Trump ripped into the Biden-Harris energy policies, including a liquid natural gas export ban. The ban is on hold after a coalition of Republican attorneys general sued to block it. 
“I will terminate the natural gas export ban, which makes it impossible for you to sell your product to a lot of countries that want it desperately,” Trump said, promising to get Pennsylvania workers “pumping, fracking, drilling and producing like never before.”
He also promised to lower energy prices, which have increased dramatically since President Joe Biden took office. 
“If you vote for me, I will cut your energy and electricity prices in half within 12 months,” Trump said. &#8220;We have more liquid gold under our feet and we&#8217;re buying oil from Venezuela. We don&#8217;t need it at all. It&#8217;s crazy!&#8221;
Trump also criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her apparent flip-flop on fracking, which she previously promised to ban when running for president back in 2019. 
“If anybody here believes that she will let your energy industry continue – like fracking – you should immediately go to a psychiatrist and have your head examined,” Trump <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/09/23/us-news/trump-vows-to-unleash-energy-in-key-swing-state-pumping-fracking-drilling-and-producing-like-never-before/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.

Trump also focused much of his speech on illegal immigration and the influx of migrants into small towns across the country, prompting some in the crowd to chant, “Send them back.”

“It takes centuries to build the unique character of each state,” Trump said. “But reckless migration policy can change it very quickly and it can destroy everything in its way just like we’ve seen in London, and Paris, and Minneapolis.”
“If Kamala Harris wins this election, she will flood Pennsylvania cities and towns with illegal migrants from all over the world—and Pennsylvania will never be the same,” he added. “When I’m president, all migrant flights to Pennsylvania will stop immediately.”
Republican Senate candidate David McCormick also appeared at the rally, saying his campaign against Democratic Senator Bob Casey was a &#8220;battle between common sense&#8221; and &#8220;radical liberal policies.&#8221;
Trump’s rally came after earlier stops on Monday at a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-buys-groceries-for-pennsylvania-mom-promises-to-bring-prices-down" target="_blank" rel="noopener">grocery store</a> in Kittanning and a South Huntingdon farm. Pennsylvania is one of the key battleground states expected to determine the outcome of the 2024 election.

Vice President Kamala Harris lied on Thursday during her first interview as the Democratic Party&#8217;s presidential nominee about her past remarks on her support for banning fracking.
Harris made the false claim during an <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/29/politics/harris-walz-interview-read-transcript/index.html">interview</a> with CNN&#8217;s Dana Bash when asked about her support for the multi-trillion dollar Green New Deal and her pledge in 2019 when she said: “There is no question I’m in favor of banning fracking.”
When asked if she still supported banning fracking, Harris responded: &#8220;No, and I made that clear on the debate stage in 2020, that I would not ban fracking. As vice president, I did not ban fracking. As president, I will not ban fracking.&#8221;

Bash highlighted Harris&#8217;s 2019 remarks about her unequivocal support for a ban on fracking, to which Harris responded: &#8220;In 2020 I made very clear where I stand. We are in 2024, and I have not changed that position, nor will I going forward. I kept my word, and I will keep my word.&#8221;
When asked why she changed her view, Harris said to be &#8220;clear&#8221; that her &#8220;values have not changed.&#8221;
However, Harris lied about what she said on the debate stage in 2020.
Harris dropped out of the 2020 presidential race in late 2019 — before any of the voting in the primary started — after failing to get any traction among voters.
After then-Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden picked her as his running mate, she appeared in one vice presidential debate against Mike Pence in October 2020.
During that debate, Harris <a href="https://www.debates.org/voter-education/debate-transcripts/vice-presidential-debate-at-the-university-of-utah-in-salt-lake-city-utah/">never stated</a> that she would not ban fracking; she said that Biden would not ban fracking.
&#8220;Joe Biden will not end fracking,&#8221; Harris said. &#8220;He has been very clear about that.&#8221;

Kamala Lies About What She Has Said Regarding Her Support For Banning Fracking

The Kamala Harris Campaign recently published an image of her with the text, “we are not going back.” Will Democrats seek to replace her or Tim Walz from the ticket as their numbers start to tank? All it may take is another trip to the grocery store or a fill-up at the pump for reality to set back in for Americans excited about her candidacy. Most Americans would certainly like to “go back” to affordable gas prices, groceries, housing, and electricity.
Regardless of the ticket, any Democratic nominee would likely continue down the same policy path that has wrecked the American economy and — perhaps most importantly — dismantled our energy dominance.
Why does energy matter when everyone is talking about inflation, the border, and global conflicts? Because everything we do depends on access to affordable, reliable energy—and that means our next president’s energy policy will shape the future of America and the world. The Democrats’ vision for expensive, scarce, and government-controlled energy, dependent on the whims of the weather, is as reliable as Obamacare is affordable, and it would spell disaster for our nation.
Kamala Harris’ record on energy is clear. She endorsed California’s cap-and-trade carbon tax, co-sponsored the Green New Deal, and cast the tie-breaking vote on the Inflation Reduction Act, which is, as <a href="https://x.com/dgelles/status/1635301875967983616" target="_blank" rel="noopener">one journalist</a> aptly put it, “the first major climate legislation…EVER!” These are the same policies that have driven California’s energy prices to astronomical levels and have left tens of thousands of people in the dark — literally.
In California last year, <a href="https://www.wsj.com/business/energy-oil/why-californians-have-some-of-the-highest-power-bills-in-the-u-s-a831b60e" target="_blank" rel="noopener">215,000 people</a> had their power disconnected for inability to pay, and over 40,000 of those households still had not had their services restored by year’s end. For those individuals, residential lease and mortgage terms are violated and homeowners insurance policies are canceled because requirements to keep utilities connected aren’t being met. These 40,000 people are at the highest risk of homelessness, all because they couldn’t afford to pay their energy bills.
This is not just a California story — though the numbers are much higher there, it’s a nationwide crisis unfolding under the Democrats’ watch. In California last year, nearly 27% of Californians missed payments on utility bills — compared to 16% nationwide, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Household Pulse Survey. The previous year saw <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/utility-power-shutoffs-4-2-million/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">5 million Americans</a> receive disconnect notices from their utility companies. The pattern is clear: the Democrats’ energy policies, embraced in California, are making it harder for everyday Americans to keep their lights on.
Under the Trump administration, Americans enjoyed the benefits of a robust energy sector. The United States became a net energy exporter for the first time in decades, and <a href="https://www.energy.gov/sites/prod/files/2020/10/f79/Natural%20Gas%20Benefits%20Report.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">American households saved an average of $2,500 a year</a> on energy costs alone. Today, under the Biden-Harris administration, American families are <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-03-29/u-s-households-face-5-200-inflation-tax-this-year-chart" target="_blank" rel="noopener">paying $5,200 more per year,</a> thanks to the Biden-Harris policies that have attacked the energy industry and levied higher costs on everything.
Harris’s stance on fracking is particularly troubling for energy-producing states like New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming as significant portions of their energy are produced on federal lands. In 2019, she unequivocally stated, “There is no question I’m in favor of banning fracking. And, starting with what we can do on day one around public lands, right!” In New Mexico, nearly two-thirds of energy production occurs on federal lands, generating over $6 billion in tax revenue. A Harris administration would be a direct threat to this critical industry, leaving millions unemployed and our nation more dependent on foreign oil.

The consequences would be equally dire in states like Pennsylvania, and Ohio where auto production is a key economic driver. A Harris/Walz regime, with its bureaucratic deep state, would continue to unleash attacks against the energy and auto manufactures in these states. Chinese EV battery maker Gotion has already set up shop in Michigan, claiming U.S. federal and state tax subsidies while also receiving subsidies from the Chinese Communist Party. This is the kind of pro-China double-dealing that is resulting in, as President Trump predicted, a “bloodbath” for the American auto industry.
No wonder President Trump said he was “thrilled” with Tim Walz as Harris’ the VP pick. Not content with a centrist candidate to balance the ticket, Harris instead chose another hard leftist, verging on communist. The Democrats’ regime is no friend to American energy producers or the American automotive industry. And, as Harris has made clear, &#8220;we are not going back.&#8221;
In the end, the choice is clear. America needs leadership that will protect our energy independence, lower costs for American families, and strengthen our economy. The alternative is more of the same disastrous policies that have plagued California and could result in the United States being known as Kamalafornia — where energy is expensive, scarce, and unreliable, and where the American dream is slipping further out of reach for millions.

During a rally on Friday, former President Donald Trump played a new ad which takes aim at Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kamala Harris</a> by using her own past remarks against her.
Harris, the Democrats&#8217; effective 2024 presidential nominee, has an extremely left-wing history in politics, and voiced similarly radical positions during her failed 2020 presidential run. Video clips of those staked out positions by Harris were compiled by Trump&#8217;s team and featured in the new ad.
The ad opens up with the text, &#8220;Here&#8217;s what Kamala Harris would do as president&#8221; as audio plays of Harris bragging about being &#8220;radical.&#8221;
It then shows the VP voicing support for the controversial Green New Deal, issuing a total ban on fracking, supporting gun confiscation, eliminating private health insurance, providing taxpayer-funded health care for illegal immigrants, and supporting the radical &#8220;defund the police&#8221; movement, among other far-Left issues.
The ad closes with the text, &#8220;Kamala Harris: Failed. Weak. Dangerously liberal.&#8221;

As highlighted in the ad, Harris said in 2019 that there&#8217;s &#8220;no question&#8221; she&#8217;s &#8220;in favor of banning fracking.&#8221;
“And starting with what we can do on Day 1 around public lands,&#8221; she said. &#8220;This is something I’ve taken on in California. I have a history on this issue.”
She further told CNN&#8217;s Jake Tapper that she supports a single-payer, Medicare for All bill that would eliminate private health insurance. “Let’s eliminate all of that. Let’s move on,” she told the host.

Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kamala Harris</a>&#8216; presidential campaign claims that the Democrat will not ban fracking if she becomes president this fall despite her pledging to do exactly that when she campaigned for the nation&#8217;s highest office during the 2020 presidential race.
“She wants no fracking,” former President Donald Trump told supporters this week during a rally in North Carolina. “You’re going to be paying a lot of money. You’re going to be paying so much. You’re going to say ‘bring back Trump.’”
The Harris campaign responded to Trump&#8217;s remarks by saying: “Trump’s false claims about fracking bans are an obvious attempt to distract from his own plans to enrich oil and gas executives at the expense of the middle class.”
However, the then-U.S. Senator from California — who was rated as the most far-left Democrat in the Senate — stated unequivocally while campaigning for office in 2020 that she would outright ban fracking.

With the battleground state of Pennsylvania, whose economy is profoundly affected by its capacity for fracking, it is instructive to remember that in 2019, when running for President of the United States, then-Sen. Kamala Harris flatly stated she would ban fracking.
Harris spoke at a <a href="http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1909/04/se.03.html">CNN Climate Crisis Town Hall</a> on September 4, 2019, hosted by CNN’s Erin Burnett.
Jessie Bluedorn, whom CNN called a “climate activist” and worked with the “Climate Organization 350,” insisted, “The toxic impacts of fracking on the community are immense,” then asked, “From contaminated groundwater to poisonous emissions &#8212; will you commit to implementing a federal ban on fracking your first day in office, adding the United States to the list of countries who have banned this devastating practice?”
Harris, who had said earlier in the town hall, “To the United States Congress, here&#8217;s my point. If they fail to act, as president of the United States, I am prepared to get rid of the filibuster to pass a Green New Deal,” answered, “There&#8217;s no question I&#8217;m in favor of banning fracking, so yes. And &#8230; starting with what we can do on day one around public lands, right? And then there has to be legislation, but yes &#8212; and this is something I&#8217;ve taken on in California. I have a history of working on this issue. And to your point, we have to just acknowledge that the residual impact of fracking is enormous in terms of the impact on the health and safety of communities &#8212; yeah, so thank you.”
“So would you ban offshore drilling?” Burnett interjected.
“Yes, and I&#8217;ve again, worked on that,” Harris responded. “You can &#8212; you can talk to the folks in Santa Barbara about the work that I&#8217;ve done there where it&#8217;s a big problem &#8212; but it&#8217;s a big problem in many areas of our country &#8212; and yes, I would. Yes.”
“Pennsylvania’s natural gas sector supports ~123,000 statewide jobs and contributed more than $41 billion in 2022 state economic activity, according <a href="http://marcelluscoalition.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Economic-and-Fiscal-Impact-of-Pennsylvania-Shale-Development.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">to the report</a> conducted by energy economists at FTI Consulting, Inc., a global business advisory firm,” the Marcellus Shale Coalition has <a href="https://marcelluscoalition.org/2023/09/27/new-study-natural-gas-generates-billions-for-pa-s-economy-supports-120k-jobs-boosts-critical-tax-revenues/#:~:text=As%20the%20report%20highlights%2C%20in,%2441%20billion%20in%20economic%20activity." target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a>.
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) noted in a <a href="https://www.api.org/news-policy-and-issues/news/2023/05/16/api-pwc-pa-2023" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recent study</a> that in Pennsylvania, the natural gas and oil industry in 2021 directly and indirectly:

<li>Supported 423,700 total jobs (93,060 direct and 330,640 indirect) or 5.6 percent of Pennsylvania’s total employment.</li>
<li>Generated an additional 3.6 jobs elsewhere in Pennsylvania’s economy for each direct job in the state’s natural gas and oil industry.</li>
<li>Provided $40.3 billion in labor income ($14.3 billion direct and $26.0 billion indirect) to Pennsylvania, 7.5 percent of the state’s total.</li>
<li>Contributed $75.0 billion to Pennsylvania’s total gross domestic product ($35.9 billion direct and $39.1 billion indirect), 8.9 percent of the state’s total.</li>

An <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/arizona" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Arizona</a> woman who sabotaged the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dakota-access-pipeline" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dakota Access pipeline</a> and set fire to equipment to protest the controversial project was sentenced by a federal judge Thursday to six years in prison.
Ruby Katherine Montoya, 32, who used a cutting torch to damage the oil pipeline in Iowa in 2016 and destroyed equipment over the next year, was also ordered to pay $3.2 million in restitution, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/fires-crime-iowa-dakota-access-pipeline-11f0b30fc86fa2326d8e09fe526d9157" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Associated Press reported</a>.
“The sentence imposed today demonstrates that any crime of domestic terrorism will be aggressively investigated and prosecuted by the federal government,” U.S. Attorney Richard Westphal said in a statement.
Montoya, who conspired to damage an energy facility, worked with Jessica Reznicek to sabotage the pipeline and equipment used to work on it. In 2016, they torched a bulldozer and other heavy equipment in central Iowa, according to authorities. Reznicek was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2021 after pleading guilty to similar charges. That sentence was upheld on appeal in June.

Native Americans and environmentalists fought the $3.8 billion, 1,170-mile pipeline, which was completed in 2017. The opposition was similar to that faced by the Keystone XL pipeline, which President Joe Biden ordered stopped shortly after taking office.
Opponents, most of whom are against fossil fuels of any kind, claimed the pipelines pose a danger of oil spills. Some landowners also opposed the use of eminent domain to build the Dakota Access pipeline, and the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe claimed it passed over sacred lands. Even though the pipeline has been operational for five years, opponents are still demanding that the Biden administration shut it down.
Pipeline proponents say moving oil via pipelines is safer than by rail, creates jobs and boosts U.S. domestic energy production at a time when fuel prices have spiked.
The Dakota Access pipeline starts in the Bakken Formation shale oil fields in North Dakota and carries up to 750,000 barrels of oil per day south through South Dakota and Iowa and to a terminal in Illinois.

<a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/russia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Russia</a> severed <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/oil-and-gas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">natural gas</a> flow through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline earlier this month in an apparent retaliation against Western Europe for supporting <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ukraine-russia-war" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ukraine</a>. As other countries impose energy consumption restrictions upon their citizens while continuing to prioritize <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/climate-change" target="_blank" rel="noopener">green energy</a> commitments, British Prime Minister <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/liz-truss" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Liz Truss</a> has pushed for higher fossil fuel production and set the goal of becoming a net exporter of energy by 2040.
“We are cutting off the toxic power and pipelines from authoritarian regimes and strengthening our energy resilience,” Truss said Wednesday during a <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/prime-minister-liz-trusss-speech-to-the-un-general-assembly-21-september-2022">speech</a> to the United Nations General Assembly. “We will ensure we cannot be coerced or harmed by the reckless actions of rogue actors abroad. We will transition to a future based on renewable and nuclear energy while ensuring that the gas used during that transition is from reliable sources including our own North Sea production.”
The British government subsequently announced a new round of oil and gas leases for the North Sea and lifted its moratorium on shale gas production — including the practice of fracking, by which pressurized liquid is injected into underground rocks to force open fissures and extract fuels. The prohibition was initially established in 2019 amid concerns over earthquakes.
“In light of Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine and weaponisation of energy, strengthening our energy security is an absolute priority, and — as the Prime Minister said — we are going to ensure the UK is a net energy exporter by 2040,” British Energy Secretary Jacob Rees-Mogg remarked in a <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-government-takes-next-steps-to-boost-domestic-energy-production">statement</a>. “To get there we will need to explore all avenues available to us through solar, wind, oil and gas production — so it’s right that we’ve lifted the pause to realise any potential sources of domestic gas.”
After succeeding fellow Conservative Party member Boris Johnson two weeks ago, Truss <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/british-prime-minister-liz-truss-unveils-package-to-cut-soaring-fuel-prices-offers-reforms-so-we-are-never-in-this-position-again">proposed legislation</a> that would limit the annual cost of power for a typical household to £2,500, or roughly $2,820, for the next two years. This plan would cost a total of £150 billion, or $169 billion. The nation’s government has already <a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/getting-the-energy-bills-support-scheme-discount">greenlit</a> the Energy Bills Support Scheme, which is slated to remove £400 from residents’ power bills each month over the upcoming winter.
Ministers in the European Union, of which the United Kingdom is no longer a part, likewise grapple with energy prices that have increased <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/european-climate-bureaucrats-are-dooming-the-continent-to-a-very-dark-winter">as much as twentyfold</a> in some member states. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/european-union-social-market-economy-might-redistribute-fossil-fuel-profits">called</a> for redistributing profits from fossil fuel companies.
“In our social market economy, profits are good. But in these times it is wrong to receive extraordinary record profits benefitting from war and on the back of consumers,” she said in her most recent state of the union address.
Several large European manufacturers are <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/european-companies-pause-production-as-energy-prices-soar">shuttering their factories</a> as energy prices climb. The producer price index for industrial goods in Germany, the continent’s largest economy, has risen 45.8% year-over-year as of August 2022, according to the Federal Statistical Office of Germany. Russian shipments accounted for 40% of the European natural gas supply last year — a rate that has since dropped to 9%.

On Friday, California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the nation’s most populous state would phase out fracking in less than three years and explore options to eventually end all oil extraction.
“The climate crisis is real, and we continue to see signs every day,” said Newsom in a statement. “As we move to swiftly decarbonize our transportation sector and create a healthier future for our children, I’ve made it clear I don’t see a role for fracking in that future and, similarly, believe that California needs to move beyond oil.”
Hydraulic fracturing, known as fracking, is a technique used to extract natural resources by injecting high-pressure fluid into a target rock formation. The process creates or enlarges fractures in the rocks containing oil and natural gas, allowing fluids to flow more freely into a wellbore to increase production. Some progressive environmentalists claim fracking negatively impacts air and water quality, public health, and can cause seismic events.

Newsom directed the Department of Conservation’s Geologic Energy Management Division to stop issuing new fracking permits by 2024 and asked the California Air Resources Board to analyze pathways to halt all oil and gas drilling by 2045.
As the Los Angeles Times <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-04-23/gavin-newsom-executive-limit-fracking-california">reported</a>, “Newsom’s announcement comes as a recall campaign against him appears close to qualifying for the ballot and is a reversal from the governor’s previous statements that he lacked the executive authority to ban hydraulic fracturing, commonly known as fracking.” According to the outlet, “Newsom recently decided to use the state’s environmental regulatory authority after efforts to pass the ban legislatively failed, an administration spokesperson said.”

The Times quoted several union leaders who spoke out against Newsom’s directive, saying the move would cost thousands of well-paying jobs and harm local economies in rural oil-producing parts of the state.
John Spaulding is the executive secretary of the Building and Construction Trades Council for Kern, Inyo, and Mono counties.
“Every student, every firefighter and every resident of Kern County will be hurt by the governor’s political announcement today,” he said on Friday. “We will work to oppose this effort for our membership, their families, our schools and our future. I have one question for Gavin Newsom: Are our jobs too dirty for you?”

While “fact-checking” the final presidential debate, The LA Times <a href="https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2020-10-22/fact-checking-the-final-trump-biden-presidential-debate">declared</a> that “No, Biden wouldn’t end fracking” in response to Trump’s statement, “He was against fracking. He said it.” The supposed fact-check justified this conclusion by saying that “Biden’s comments about fracking have varied some,” and attempting to retrospectively add context to Biden’s assertions about targeting fracking.

The fact-checking organization also backfilled Biden’s meaning in order to rate Trump’s claim that “Joe Biden confirmed his plan to abolish the entire U.S. oil industry. That means no fracking jobs and no energy for Pennsylvania” as false. Their justification was that “Biden has <a href="https://www.inquirer.com/politics/election/trump-biden-fracking-coal-mining-fact-check-20200924.html">said repeatedly that he won’t ban fracking</a>,” ignoring the obvious point that Biden has also said repeatedly that we wants to end fossil fuel. When it came to the subject of oil, Politifact wrote “Biden stumbled over his words as he tried to explain his position,” as if an inarticulate presentation of a position allows others to fill in the gaps as needed.
NBC News
<a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/live-blog/2020-10-22-trump-biden-election-n1244210/ncrd1244435#blogHeader">NBC News</a> decided to respond to Trump’s claim that Biden’s position on fracking varies depending on which state he visits.

The fact that his campaign has rushed to do damage control and parrot Biden’s “official” position is irrelevant.

On Monday, it was reported that Google, which owns YouTube, had decided to term “mostly false” the claims that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden stated in the past that he would ban fracking, adding that term if a user of their YouTube platform searched for Biden making such a statement.
It was also reported that no similar fact-check was posted about videos from the mainstream media that featured debunked claims about the infamous Steele dossier that was used to attack President Trump.

Biden has made many statements speaking of his opposition to fracking. President Trump paid tribute with a video after Biden snapped at him to produce a video showing Biden had done so.
During the final debate between Biden and President Trump, Biden spoke of transitioning from the oil industry:

Big tech’s efforts to protect Biden have included Twitter banning the New York Post’s account after the Post reported on Hunter Biden’s business dealings. The Daily Wire reported on October 18:
<blockquote>The New York Post&#8217;s Twitter account has been suspended since Wednesday and now, <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/twitter-has-refused-to-unlock-new-york-posts-account">Fox Business reports</a>, Twitter has told the outlet that access will not be restored until the Post deletes certain Tweets referencing their Hunter Biden coverage. &#8220;Twitter confirmed to FOX Business that the Post &#8216;has been informed what is necessary to unlock their account,'&#8221; and that includes &#8220;six tweets about its reporting on 2020 Democratic nominee Joe Biden&#8217;s son, Hunter Biden,&#8221; per Fox. The <a href="https://nypost.com/2020/10/16/twitter-still-holding-the-posts-account-hostage-over-hunter-biden-links/">Post itself reports that Twitter told them</a> that the announced policy changes do not apply to their situation: “While we’ve updated the policy, we don’t change enforcement retroactively. You will still need to delete the Tweets to regain access to your account.”</blockquote>
On October 22, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/senate-judiciary-committee-votes-to-subpoena-facebook-twitter-ceos">noted</a>:

Biden himself has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-snaps-at-reporter-for-bringing-up-hunter-biden-controversy-its-all-a-lie">snapped at a reporter</a> asking him about his son and a laptop that allegedly belonged to him. On Saturday a reporter said to Biden, “Questions [and] controversy continue today about Hunter Biden, your son&#8217;s—” before being cut off by Biden, who claimed, “There is no controversy about my son. It&#8217;s all a lie. It’s a flat lie because the president has nothing else to run on. If you noticed, while the American people are talking about what’s happening to their families; he has no plan [and] at the debate, he has no plan.&#8221;

On Saturday, interviewers for three separate news outlets in fracking-rich Pennsylvania targeted Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden for his remarks in last week’s debate that he plans to “transition” away from the oil industry. During the debate, President Trump reacted to Biden’s remarks by firing back, “That&#8217;s maybe the biggest statement in terms of business &#8230; because basically what he said is he is going to destroy the oil industry. Will you remember that, Texas? Will you remember that Pennsylvania, Oklahoma?”
As <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-grilled-transition-oil-and-gas-pennsylvania-tv-interviews">Fox News</a> reported, <a href="https://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2020/10/24/exclusive-joe-biden-interview-defund-police-coronavirus-donald-trump/">CBS Philadelphia</a> asked Biden, &#8220;You also talked about transitioning away from oil. What would you tell these families here in Pennsylvania who are concerned about this?&#8221;
Biden responded, “Look I&#8217;m from Scranton, Pennsylvania. My great grandfather was a mining engineer. So I come from coal country. And I&#8217;m not talking about eliminating fracking, I just said no more fracking on federal lands. With regard to gas, oil, coal all of it, the transition is taking place having nothing to do with anything I&#8217;m proposing. The fact is that the fastest growing industries in the country are solar and wind. We can move in a direction where the transition takes place, so that people are not left behind, and we got to invest in the new technologies.&#8221;
NBC affiliate <a href="https://www.pahomepage.com/top-stories/one-on-one-with-joe-biden/">WBRE</a> in Wilkes-Barre elicited this response from Biden: “I would not, I will not ban fracking. I said no fracking on Federal land, number one. Number two, the coal and natural gas industry and oil is not going to be fundamentally changed. They’re already in transition. They’re already in transition. What I’m saying is we will not continue to subsidize, give tax breaks to oil companies which carbon capture what’s coming off gas and oil.&#8221;
Scranton ABC affiliate <a href="https://www.wnep.com/article/news/local/luzerne-county/biden-talks-campaign-covid-19-in-luzerne-county/523-3d4ee3ab-b9d4-4c8f-a6d0-3d503bd8f748">WNEP</a> heard this explanation: “What I said was, we&#8217;re gonna stop the subsidies for oil, which is about $40 billion. We&#8217;re going to take that money, invest it in new technologies for what they call carbon capture. We&#8217;re going to still need oil. We&#8217;re gonna still have combustion engines, We&#8217;re still going to need oil for many things, but what&#8217;s happening is you have to do it, and we can work toward getting it done so you can capture the carbon that comes from that gas and that oil. That&#8217;s what has to be done.”

We can do that and we can do that by investing money in doing it, but it’s a transition to that.
Trump: Excuse me. He was against fracking. He said it. I will show that to you tomorrow.
Biden: Good.
Trump: I am against fracking. Until he got the nomination, he went to Pennsylvania. Then he said, “But you know what Pennsylvania?” He’ll be against it very soon because his party is totally against it.
Biden: Fracking on federal land. I said, no fracking and/or oil on federal land.</blockquote>

Trump: We actually give it to solar and wind. That’s maybe the biggest statement. In terms of business, that’s the biggest statement.
