Carter, of the communications and consulting firm Maslansky + Partners, said that while Harris might have delivered a smooth performance and given viewers the impression that she did well, her failure to address the issues that would impact them most would not do her any favors on November 5th.

&#8220;Fox &amp; Friends&#8221; host Brian Kilmeade opened the segment with a mention of Trump&#8217;s upcoming rally in the Bronx, cutting to a video of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) reacting to it. She claimed that Trump was using the rally to &#8220;fleece&#8221; people out of their money so that he could pay his legal bills and was only doing it in the South Bronx because he had to be in court in Manhattan anyway for his hush-money trial.

She doesn’t even hang out there; she doesn’t live there on the block anymore, but a good friend of mine who I’ve known for 45 years, her son passed away, and they were having a memorial for him, and so these guys — the gang violence is on the rise so much, it’s so underreported — so they come around with their masks, they’re shooting crazy, one third floor apartment was all busted up.&#8221;
Payne concluded with an update, saying that after a four-hour surgery and two weeks in the hospital, his niece had finally been released to go home a day earlier.

Three individuals were named on Wednesday as the co-moderators of the second <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/republican-party" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Republican Party</a> presidential primary debate in late September.
The debate will air on Fox Business and Univision from 9-11 p.m. EST on September 27 and will be co-moderated by Stuart Varney, Dana Perino, and Ilia Calderón.
Varney was one of the original anchors at Fox Business when it started back in 2007 and currently hosts &#8220;Varney &amp; Co.&#8221; Perino co-anchors &#8220;America&#8217;s Newsroom&#8221; and co-hosts &#8220;The Five,&#8221; both on Fox News. Calderón anchors Univision&#8217;s &#8220;Noticiero Univision.&#8221;

The number of people who watched the Republican Party&#8217;s first presidential debate last week was roughly 13 million.

Only 7% said that they watched Trump’s interview with Tucker Carlson, which fell behind several other options, including doing housework at 11%, and watching something else on TV at 29%. A report said that approximately 15 million people actually clicked and watched the 45-minute interview for at least 2 seconds.

Nancy Lazar — the chief global economist of investment bank Piper Sandler — said on Monday that the world is in the first part of a “very significant” recession.
During an interview with <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/world-in-early-stages-of-very-significant-recession-economist-nancy-lazar">Fox Business</a>, Lazar told anchor Maria Bartiromo that &#8220;It’s going to be a global recession pulling down [the] Euro zone in particular” and noted that “it looks like China GDP in the second quarter could also be negative.&#8221;
Lazar added that economic activity in the United States “will feel very, very weak” as growth slows down from last year’s recovery.
&#8220;Now we think the United States could not go into a recession. We have still plus 1% GDP for the U.S. this year, but that’s still a very significant slowdown from roughly 6% last year,&#8221; Lazar explained.
She added that similar fears of a recession occurred in 2015 and 2016.
&#8220;You didn’t get it, in part because the backbone of the United States is pretty healthy, which we still think is the case,&#8221; she told Bartiromo. &#8220;But, nonetheless, outside of the United States, indeed you do get a recession, led by the Euro zone given what’s going on with oil prices and global interest rates.&#8221;
Indeed, economists have been eyeing the broader impacts of high energy prices and the tapering of aggressive monetary policy.
President Joe Biden’s tenure in the White House has been marked by surging gas prices, with costs at the pump further accelerating due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. As of Monday morning, the average price of regular gas is $4.12, according to <a href="https://gasprices.aaa.com/">AAA</a>. 
“Over the past 15 months, we’ve seen inflation grow higher than any time in the last 40 years. Perhaps the most painful driver of inflation has been the skyrocketing cost of gasoline at the pump,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/this-is-not-putin-this-is-joe-biden-senator-ted-cruz-blasts-biden-admin-over-spiking-gas-prices">told</a> the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. 
Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve recently made its first move to raise interest rates, thereby increasing the cost of borrowing money and making loans more expensive. Earlier this month, The 30-year mortgage rate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mortgage-rates-hit-highest-level-in-over-a-decade">surpassed</a> 5%, rendering homeownership more expensive for American families.
“As Americans contend with historically high inflation, the combination of rising mortgage rates, elevated home prices and tight inventory are making the pursuit of homeownership the most expensive in a generation,” government-backed mortgage company <a href="https://www.freddiemac.com/pmms">Freddie Mac</a> explained.
Lazar said that higher interest rates will help to curb breakneck inflation in the United States.
&#8220;I think we are going to have significant goods deflation,&#8221; she told Bartiromo, pointing to the price of used cars as an example. &#8220;We’ve seen used cars decline 6% just in a few months.”
The end of soaring price levels — despite relief offered to consumers — would be harmful to companies’ margins.
&#8220;On the one hand that’s positive in that you are going to send, obviously, the CPI significantly lower over the next year,” Lazar said, “but on the other hand, it’s not going to be pretty in that it’s going to affect company earnings, through lower earnings via weaker demand for products and also declining prices.”

As Twitter desperately tries to fend off his hostile takeover bid, Elon Musk could be facing another potential battle with the federal government, with both the Securities And Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Department of Justice reportedly poised to launch an investigation targeting him.
News of potential looming federal probes of Musk, who has previously clashed with the SEC over his ownership of carmaker Tesla, came in a Wednesday <a href="https://video.foxbusiness.com/v/6303844565001#sp=show-clips">report</a> from Charles Gasparino of Fox Business Network. It was not clear whether the agencies are looking into Musk&#8217;s handling of Tesla, his $41 billion bid to take Twitter private, or both.
“Both the DOJ and the SEC are clearly scrutinizing this entire matter,&#8221; Gasparino said. &#8220;Now, we’re getting this from lawyers &#8230; they’re clearly monitoring and scrutinizing this entire issue, whether he filed the right forms, whether there’s a stock manipulation case here, whether he’s making public statements that he probably shouldn’t make. … What we do know is that he’s stirred up a regulatory hornets’ nest. DOJ, SEC, I’m getting this from lawyers who deal with them.”
The veteran business journalist said that the Justice Department faces a high bar for bringing a criminal case against Musk, but the SEC could have an easier time coming down on the world&#8217;s richest man if it can show he manipulated stock in companies in which he held stakes.
Gasparino tweeted on Thursday: “@elonmusk offers to buy the rest of @Twitter a legal source tells @FoxBusiness @SECGov and @TheJusticeDept have launched what he described as a ‘joint investigation’ into a myriad of Musk regulatory issues primarily involving @Tesla.”

Musk’s battle with the Securities and Exchange Commission date back to 2018, when the SEC filed a complaint targeting him after he announced he wanted to take Tesla private. Musk tweeted at the time, “Am considering taking Tesla private at $420. Funding secured.”

The SEC wrote in the <a href="https://electrek.co/2018/09/27/tesla-tsla-stock-tumbles-sec-sues-elon-musk/">complaint</a>:
<blockquote>Musk made his false and misleading public statements about taking Tesla private using his mobile phone in the middle of the active trading day. He did not discuss the content of the statements with anyone else prior to publishing them to his over 22 million Twitter followers and anyone else with access to the Internet. He also did not inform Nasdaq that he intended to make this public announcement, as Nasdaq rules required.</blockquote>
“This unjustified action by the SEC leaves me deeply saddened and disappointed,&#8221; Musk responded. &#8220;I have always taken action in the best interests of truth, transparency and investors. Integrity is the most important value in my life and the facts will show I never compromised this in any way.”
Ultimately, Tesla and Musk settled with the SEC with Musk agreeing to step down as chairman and Tesla and Musk having to each pay $20 million in penalties. Part of the settlement forced Musk to have his tweets reviewed by Tesla’s legal department if they were strongly related to the company. In February 2022, an attorney for Musk <a href="https://electrek.co/2022/02/17/elon-musk-tesla-argue-sec-harassing-them-strongly-worded-letter/">issued a letter</a> to the SEC stating:
<blockquote>We write to alert the Court to a pattern of conduct by the Securities and Exchange Commission (the “SEC”) that has gone beyond the pale. Simply stated, the SEC has failed to comply with its promise to pay Tesla’s shareholders the $40 million it collected as part of the settlement in these cases and that it purports to be holding for them. Instead, it has been devoting its formidable resources to endless, unfounded investigations into Mr. Musk and Tesla. We are respectfully requesting that the Court schedule a conference to address why the SEC has failed to distribute these funds to shareholders but has chosen to spend its energy and resources investigating Mr. Musk’s and Tesla’s compliance with the consent decree by issuing subpoenas unilaterally, without Court approval.</blockquote>
The SEC denied it was harassing Musk and denied the request for a conference. Musk’s attorneys then filed a new motion saying Musk had settled with the SEC so Tesla could survive. Musk himself stated, “Funding was indeed secured. I should say I do not have respect for the SEC in that situation. I don’t mean to blame everyone at the SEC, but certainly the San Francisco office. The SEC knew that funding was secured. They pursued an active public investigation, nonetheless.”
This week, Musk <a href="https://www.reuters.com/technology/musk-says-us-sec-bastards-forced-settlement-over-tesla-tweets-2022-04-14/">told the audience</a> at the TED Conference in Vancouver, “So I was forced to concede to the SEC unlawfully. Those bastards,” adding that he was concerned banks would stop offering capital. He snapped, “So that&#8217;s like having a gun to your child&#8217;s head. I was forced to admit that I lied to save Tesla&#8217;s life and that&#8217;s the only reason.”

Democratic strategist Laura Fink was visibly taken aback when Fox Business host Charles Payne made a direct comparison between her comments about inflation and comments made by Chinese President Xi Jinping on the same subject just two months earlier.
Fink joined <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/watch-charles-payne-tells-dave-portnoy-youre-being-a-little-b-on-live-tv/">Payne</a>, who was guest-hosting &#8220;Your World&#8221; on Fox News for regular host Neil Cavuto, to discuss the economy and how President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration has been handling <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/psakis-no-economist-assertion-draws-some-inflation-dissenters/">inflation</a> leading up to his planned remarks Tuesday on the issue.

Payne began the segment by asking Fink directly whether she thought it was time for the Biden administration to tackle the inflation issue head-on.
&#8220;I think it’s been a concern for some time. We know that inflation is up. We also know that profit margins are up, with the biggest U.S. companies raking in the biggest profit margins since 2019,&#8221; Fink replied, pivoting almost immediately to suggest that profiteering and price-gouging could be at the root of some of the inflated prices Americans were paying.
&#8220;So the Biden administration you will see focused on where there are those — the lack of competition in the marketplace. Things like meat processing. That’s why the prices of poultry and beef and pork are up. It’s because there’s a bottleneck and a lack of competition with those processors,&#8221; Fink continued. &#8220;So really addressing that and making the American public aware that often it’s the companies that are raking in that dollar and they’re making money significantly above and beyond.&#8221;
&#8220;Is it pandemic profiteering? That’s the question the Biden administration will be asking corporate America and Americans,&#8221; Fink concluded.
&#8220;It sounds like a speech that the communist leader of China just gave two months ago against corporations over there,&#8221; Payne quipped as he moved to bring another panelist into the conversation, but Fink balked.
&#8220;Excuse me?&#8221; she exclaimed.
&#8220;Should we go to war with American businesses in this period? Should we be blaming them?&#8221; Payne asked, but Fink continued to object.
&#8220;Should we profiteer? Should we have competition?&#8221; she asked, but Payne pushed back. &#8220;I&#8217;m asking Nick,&#8221; he said.
&#8220;You just called me a communist!&#8221; Fink shot back, adding, &#8221; I thought I would defend myself.&#8221;
Payne said that it had not been his intent to call Fink a communist, but repeated his statement that the Chinese president had given a similar assessment some two months earlier.
&#8220;But competition — Charles, I think we agree that competition’s important,” Fink concluded.
The <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-11-18/biden-s-remedy-for-high-gasoline-prices-blame-oil-companies">Biden administration</a> has responded to criticisms regarding inflation and skyrocketing gas prices by promising to look into whether or not major companies are engaging in price gouging. The president himself sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission alleging that the administration had seen &#8220;mounting evidence of anti-consumer behavior by oil and gas companies.&#8221;
&#8220;I do not accept hard-working Americans paying more for gas because of anti-competitive or otherwise potentially illegal conduct,&#8221; <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/17/politics/biden-high-gas-prices-ftc-letter/index.html">Biden</a> wrote.

Black Rifle Coffee, a veteran-owned coffee company, announced on Tuesday that it is going public in a deal with the special acquisition company SPAC SilverBox Engaged Merger Corp. I.
The deal is valued at about $1.7 billion, the companies said, according to <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/veteran-focused-black-rifle-coffee-going-public-through-1-7-billion-spac-deal-11635847721">The Wall Street Journal</a>. Former Green Beret Evan Hafer launched Black Rifle Coffee in 2014 as a veteran-centered business committed to shedding light on veterans’ issues and aiding the veteran community.
Hafer announced the deal on <a href="https://video.foxbusiness.com/v/6279936303001#sp=show-clips">Fox Business</a> on Tuesday morning in an interview with host Maria Bartiromo. Hafer said that the merger, expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022, is about furthering the veteran-focused mission of the company.
“Timing was really important in being able to take the company public, or at least position the company to go public. Silver Box was the right partner,” Hafer said. “What we wanted to do was curate a relationship with somebody that had the same mission and intent and the commitment to the veteran community, so they’ve been able to come to the table and commit shares as part of the deal to the Black Rifle Coffee fund, which is our nonprofit section of the business.”
“I think being able to partner with somebody right now with the timing of this, as far as being able to capture market inertia and seize the opportunity to grow the company and maintain our commitment to hiring 10,000 veterans because we set up with that goal four years ago, I said it on your show. I’ve never strayed from that mission or that focus and this is just part of completing our promise to the American public and that’s our commitment,” he added.
In 2017, Hafer pledged to hire 10,000 veterans. Hafer’s pledge was in part a reaction to Starbucks, which promised to hire 10,000 refugees after then-President Donald Trump froze immigration from a group of predominantly Muslim countries over concerns of the U.S. vetting process for immigrants and refugees.
Hafer’s company is made up of about 600 employees, with roughly half of those military veterans. Bartiromo asked him on Tuesday what veterans bring to businesses that other employees generally cannot. Hafer responded:
<blockquote>Veterans are, especially the post 9-11, the younger generation of veterans right now that are underemployed at a much higher rate throughout the United States, they bring a complex problem-solving and split-decision making matrix that, I think, most of the civilian population might not understand. They’ve been put in some of the most dynamic, complex, and dangerous problems in the world. They’ve been able to solve those at a very high level. They’ve got a lot to offer the professional workplace and the American professional workplace.
My job is to not only inspire and entertain people through media, it’s also to lead the rest of corporate America to say, we can do a better job of hiring veterans. We can do a better job of putting the spotlight on veteran unemployment. We can do a better job of taking care of the people who have continued to serve and sacrifice overseas to include not only the veterans, but veteran families. So this is a really important step for me to be able to go out and use the podium and the platform of Black Rifle Coffee to shed the light on veterans’ issues, hire veterans, and create a culture that is truly authentic to the veteran way of life.</blockquote>

Country music star John Rich and Fox Business announced the launch of a new show on the channel’s “FBN Prime” lineup last week, “The Pursuit! with John Rich.”
Rich, who sat for an interview with <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/media/fbn-prime-the-pursuit-with-john-rich">Fox News</a> on Wednesday to preview the show, said it seeks to inspire and unite Americans around the rights articulated in the Declaration of Independence, especially the “pursuit of happiness.”
“I interview people of a wide-ranging background. I mean, it&#8217;s all different kinds of people, different perspectives, different opinions. A lot of the people are very opposite of me and what they think about things, but the thing we have in common is work ethic, entrepreneurial attitude, and a real respect and love for the right to pursue happiness,” Rich told Fox News.
“We’re the only country in the world that&#8217;s ever given its citizens the right to pursue happiness, not the right to be happy, but the right to pursue it,” he continued. “I ask every guest on the show, ‘How has the right to pursue happiness changed your life?’ That’s the final question. And everybody has their version.”
The show first appeared on Fox’s online streaming service, Fox Nation. It will air all-new episodes on Fox Business at 9 p.m. EST on Wednesdays. Guests on the show have included former NASCAR driver Richard Petty, radio host Dave Ramsey, and country music icon Charlie Daniels before he died on July 6, 2020.
“I really think the viewers are going to be inspired by what they hear, because everybody out there in this country, they all have some grand idea in their mind of a thing they would like to accomplish, something they&#8217;d like to see themselves do some day or have some day,” Rich said.
“They don’t necessarily know how to get there and it’s tough. It’s tough on everybody. Anybody that tries to chase down something big, it’s going to be a tough road,” Rich continued. “But when they see these stories and hear these experiences that the people I’m interviewing lay out on television, I hope it inspires them to get up the next morning and go after whatever their American dream is.”
Rich, an outspoken conservative, has publicly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/john-rich-blasts-other-country-music-stars-for-their-silence-as-leftist-ideologies-aim-to-erase-what-they-care-about">criticized</a> the decline in conservative values in country music.
“There are many conservative country music singers that just won’t say anything to push back against the ideologies that aim to erase what they care about. Why? You know why. I hope soon we see them start to speak up. The country music industry is out of touch with the audience,” Rich tweeted on June 10.
On May 21, Rich targeted the “soy and wokeness” that has infected the United States. “If the Greatest Generation would’ve had the same attitude as today’s ‘leaders’ we’d all be speaking German or living under the flag of Japan. Patton/MacArthur weren’t fueled by soy and wokeness. It was fierce patriotism and the willingness to die for America that saved the world,” he tweeted.
