A former employee has filed a lawsuit against Campbell’s, alleging that he was wrongfully terminated after lodging a complaint against an executive.
Robert Garza, a Michigan-based cybersecurity expert who worked remotely for the company, filed a lawsuit against his former employer this week. Garza claimed that he was fired in January, just three weeks after filing the complaint.
The tech worker said he recorded an in-person meeting with chief information security officer Martin Bally while the two were meant to be discussing a salary increase last year. Garza said he captured an hour-long tirade, which included derogatory comments about the product and various nationalities.
“We have sh*t for f*cking poor people. Who buys our sh*t? I don’t buy Campbell’s products barely anymore,” Bally allegedly said at one point during the 75-minute-long recording.
The exec also allegedly claimed the ingredients were man-made. “It’s not healthy now that I know what the f*ck’s in it,” a person on the recording says. “Bioengineered meat — I don’t wanna eat a piece of chicken that came from a 3-D printer.”

Bally is also accused of disparaging employees from India. “F*cking Indians don’t know a f*cking thing,” a speaker on the recording said. “They couldn’t think for their f*cking selves.”
Campbell’s has not confirmed the authenticity of the recording, but has released a statement refuting the claims. The company also said Bally has been placed on leave.
“If the comments heard on the audio recording were in fact made by Mr. Bally, they are unacceptable. Such language does not reflect our values and the culture of our company. We do not tolerate that kind of language under any circumstances. Mr. Bally is temporarily on leave while we conduct an investigation,” the company said in a <a href="https://www.thecampbellscompany.com/newsroom/news/company-statement-on-the-garza-lawsuit-and-alleged-audio-recording/">statement</a>. “We are proud of the food we make, the people who make it and the high-quality ingredients we use. The comments heard on the recording about our food are not only inaccurate — they are patently absurd.”
The Daily Wire reached out to Campbell’s for additional comment.
Garza claims he reported the incident to his manager but was terminated 20 days later. He said he didn’t come forward before now because he was taking time to process what happened.

Tyson Foods will close a major beef plant in Lexington, Nebraska, with about 3,200 employees in January after U.S. cattle supplies dropped to their lowest level in nearly 75 years, the meatpacker said on Friday.
The closure in the heart of cattle-feeding country signaled that supplies will remain tight, forcing meatpackers to pay steep prices for cattle to process into steaks and hamburgers.
Beef prices have set records due to low supplies and strong demand, raising costs for consumers. President Donald Trump said last month that he was working to bring down prices.
Tyson said it will also reduce operations at a beef plant in Amarillo, Texas, to a single, full-capacity shift, affecting about 1,700 workers.
&#8220;Tyson Foods recognizes the impact these decisions have on team members and the communities where we operate,&#8221; the company said in a statement.
Tyson said the changes were expected around January 20 and that it will increase production at other facilities to meet customer demand.
Beef prices soared this year as cattle supplies dwindled and meatpackers increasingly competed for limited supplies of livestock.
Ranchers slashed their herds after a years-long drought burned up pasture lands and hiked feeding costs. Some have slowly started to rebuild their herds, though it takes at least two years to raise full-grown cattle.
Tyson&#8217;s beef business suffered adjusted losses of $426 million in the 12 months ended on September 27 and $291 million over the previous year. The meatpacker projected the unit will lose $400 million to $600 million in the 2026 fiscal year.
&#8220;We all expected a plant to be closed at some point in 2026,&#8221; said Rich Nelson, chief strategist for Allendale. &#8220;I&#8217;m a little surprised they&#8217;re doing it preemptively.&#8221;
Losses in Tyson&#8217;s beef business were a turnaround from the fat profits it and other processors reaped during the COVID-19 pandemic, when meat prices soared as infections among plant workers slowed output.
The Lexington plant can process roughly 5,000 cattle per day, or about 5% of total U.S. slaughtering, but it has already been operating below capacity, said Matt Wiegand, commodity broker for FuturesOne in Nebraska. Its closure will shock the city of about 10,000 residents and hurt local feedyards that fatten cattle, he said.
&#8220;Tyson&#8217;s announcement will have a devastating impact,&#8221; said U.S. Senator Deb Fischer of Nebraska. &#8220;It&#8217;s no secret that just a few years ago, packers like Tyson were making windfall profits while the rest of the industry was continuously in the red.&#8221;
In Amarillo, Tyson&#8217;s plant can slaughter roughly 6,000 cattle per day, according to industry estimates.
The White House had no immediate comment.
Trump has sought to boost beef imports from countries such as Argentina to ease prices for U.S. consumers, angering American ranchers. On Thursday, he removed 40% tariffs he had imposed this summer on Brazilian food products that slowed imports of beef used to make hamburger meat.
Trump has also accused meatpacking companies of driving up U.S. beef prices through manipulation and collusion, and ordered the Justice Department to investigate.

President Donald Trump issued an executive order on Friday modifying his so-called reciprocal tariffs to specify that certain foods and agricultural products from countries around the world &#8220;will no longer be subject to those tariffs.&#8221;
The White House <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/11/fact-sheet-following-trade-deal-announcements-president-donald-j-trump-modifies-the-scope-of-the-reciprocal-tariffs-with-respect-to-certain-agricultural-products/">announced</a> the move in a fact sheet, which stated that the president is focused on &#8220;strengthening the U.S. economy.&#8221; The tariff rollback will apply to food items that are not grown or produced in the United States in &#8220;sufficient quantities,&#8221; including beef, coffee, tea, bananas, oranges, tomatoes, and tropical fruits and fruit juices, the White House said.
&#8220;Today’s Order follows the significant progress the President has made in securing more reciprocal terms for our bilateral trade relationships,&#8221; the White House fact sheet stated. &#8220;President Trump’s deals have had and will continue to have broad impacts on domestic production and the economy as a whole, including enhanced market access for our agriculture exporters.&#8221;

President Trump <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/columnists/3887760/oval-office-interview-trump-make-things-less-expensive/">told</a> The Washington Examiner in an interview on Friday that working to lower consumer and housing costs remains a central part of his agenda. Trump dismissed Democrats who have recently complained about an &#8220;affordability crisis,&#8221; arguing that the economy has improved since he took office.
“We’re working to make things less expensive,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;We’re cutting some prices very substantially, but what is terrible is the Democrats have catchphrases.&#8221;

Earlier on Friday, the White House announced &#8220;breakthrough trade deals&#8221; with Argentina, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Guatemala that would help lower the prices of some food items. Under those deals, the Trump administration is expected to lower tariffs on some food products, which could lower the cost of items such as coffee and bananas, according to a senior Trump administration official, Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-remove-tariffs-some-products-ecuador-argentina-guatemala-el-salvador-2025-11-13/">reported</a>.

The U.S. is investigating meatpacking companies, the attorney general said on Friday, after President Donald Trump accused the companies of using price manipulation and collusion to drive up beef prices.
The probe shows the Trump administration is seeking to tackle high food prices that have outpaced inflation. The Department of Justice is already probing whether egg producers conspired to inflate the price of eggs.
Beef prices set records in 2025 after a years-long drought burned up pasture lands and hiked feeding costs for cattle, forcing ranchers to slash the nation&#8217;s herd to the smallest level in nearly 75 years. Consumer demand has remained generally strong despite high prices.
&#8220;I have asked the DOJ to immediately begin an investigation into the Meat Packing Companies who are driving up the price of Beef through Illicit Collusion, Price Fixing, and Price Manipulation,&#8221; Trump said in a post on Truth Social, without naming companies.
Ranchers have long complained about consolidation in the packing industry, where Tyson Foods, Cargill, JBS USA and National Beef Packing Company slaughter about 80% of U.S. grain-fattened cattle that are made into steaks, beef roasts and other cuts of meat.
Cargill declined to comment. Spokespeople for the other companies did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
&#8220;This entire industry is highly concentrated and well beyond the level that&#8217;s normally considered a harm to the economy,&#8221; said Bill Bullard, CEO of cattle producers&#8217; group R-CALF USA.
JBS USA is owned by Brazilian meatpacker JBS, while Brazil&#8217;s Marfrig Global Foods SA holds a controlling stake in National Beef Packing Company.
The administration of former President Joe Biden also blamed meatpacking companies for rising food prices.
Tyson, Cargill and JBS have paid tens of millions of dollars to settle lawsuits accusing the companies of conspiring to inflate U.S. beef prices by restricting supply. They have denied wrongdoing.
The DOJ has already begun an investigation, Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a post on X. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Assistant Attorney General Gail Slater, who leads the DOJ&#8217;s antitrust division, are working together on the probe, Bondi said.
The antitrust division has both civil and criminal investigative authority, and can issue subpoenas for documents and witness testimony in its investigations into suspected anticompetitive conduct.
Slater, a former economic adviser to Vice President JD Vance, has said the DOJ&#8217;s antitrust division will focus on &#8220;pocketbook issues&#8221; facing consumers, such as food, housing and transportation.
Bipartisan calls for antitrust enforcement in the packing industry have mounted in recent years.
At a hearing in June, Senator Josh Hawley, a Republican from Missouri, and Cory Booker, a Democratic senator from New Jersey, called for antitrust enforcement in the sector.
&#8220;We need transparency, accountability, and a fair market that rewards those who actually raise and produce our beef — not the corporate middlemen gaming the system,&#8221; Rollins said in a post on X.
Trump recently angered ranchers by urging them to lower cattle prices and suggesting the country could increase low-tariff imports of Argentine beef to lower U.S. beef prices. Economists said increased imports from Argentina would not meaningfully reduce grocery store prices for U.S. consumers.
In August, Trump implemented a 50% tariff on Brazilian goods that has slowed imports of a major source of beef that was mixed with U.S. hamburger meat, further tightening supplies.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) says tens of millions of Americans are at risk of losing food stamp benefits next month if Senate Democrats continue to refuse a deal on funding the government.
&#8220;At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 01,&#8221; the department&#8217;s homepage <a href="https://www.usda.gov/">reads</a> in large letters.
&#8220;Senate Democrats have now voted 12 times to not fund the food stamp program, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP),&#8221; the USDA alert continues. &#8220;Bottom line, the well has run dry.&#8221;
&#8220;We are approaching an inflection point for Senate Democrats,&#8221; it says. &#8220;They can continue to hold out for healthcare for illegal aliens and gender mutilation procedures or reopen the government so mothers, babies, and the most vulnerable among us can receive critical nutrition assistance.&#8221;
The government has been shut down since October 1, after Democrats refused a funding resolution without certain health care subsidies. Republicans have charged that Democrats want illegal immigrants to receive health care paid for by the American people.

The legacy coffee brand Maxwell House is changing their name for the first time in 133 years to reflect the changing landscape of homeownership, they just <a href="https://news.kraftheinzcompany.com/press-releases-details/2025/For-the-First-Time-in-133-Years-Maxwell-House-Rebrands-as-Maxwell-Apartment/default.aspx">announced</a>.
The coffee retailer is rebranding to Maxwell Apartment, they said, for a 12 month ‘lease’ offer.
A press release detailing that change mentioned that almost one third of Americans are renting smaller apartments rather than purchasing full sized homes. 
“Two-thirds of American adults drink coffee every day, which can add up quickly, especially these days,” Holly Ramsden, Head of Coffee, North America at the Kraft Heinz Company, said in a statement. 
“Maxwell House believes no one should have to go without great tasting coffee and Maxwell Apartment delivers the same delicious taste people know and love, at a value that celebrates all our fans are doing to make smart choices in their lives.”
The announcement further stated that the brand would continue selling “great tasting, affordable coffee” because we’re living during “a time where value matters now more than ever.”
This promotion is being touted as a way for consumers to stock up on coffee and save money on cafe runs, which they claim could lead to $1,000 in savings per year. 
Social media users mocked the marketing ploy, pointing out how the brand was <a href="https://tnmuseum.org/junior-curators/posts/maxwell-house-coffee-and-nashville">named after</a> the Maxwell House Hotel in Nashville where it first gained popularity, not after an actual residence. 
“I can’t believe this isn’t a [Babylon Bee] article,&#8221; one person <a href="https://x.com/AfterDinnerCo/status/1973521682943058384">wrote</a> on X, echoing what many others were saying. 
Others pointed out that this is the latest in a string of questionable marketing decisions from major brands, including Cracker Barrel’s major misstep over the summer. 
“NOW we know where the marketing team that gave us the new logo and decor for Cracker Barrel went,” one person <a href="https://x.com/JM4LISD/status/1973474700627194331">observed</a>.
“‘Hey Americans! We know most of you can&#8217;t afford homes, so we thought our coffee should be rebranded to reflect your misfortune!’ Like salt in a wound,” another comment <a href="https://x.com/MightySpoonman/status/1973522856098275786">said</a>.

McDonald’s, which is the largest fast food chain in the nation, is working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and others to invest more than $200 million over the next seven years in regenerative grazing practices, habitat restoration, and water and wildlife conservation on cattle ranches spanning 4 million acres across up to 38 states, a press release from the company outlines.
The investment, McDonald&#8217;s said, shows the company&#8217;s &#8220;continued commitment to responsible beef sourcing and stewardship of natural resources.&#8221;

Tyson Foods is taking another step in reshaping the food industry by pledging to eliminate controversial additives from some of America’s most well-known grocery staples. The company announced on Monday that it will stop using high fructose corn syrup, sucralose, BHA/BHT, and titanium dioxide across its U.S. branded products, including Tyson, Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm, Wright, State Fair, and Aidells by the end of 2025.
Earlier this year, Tyson Foods removed petroleum-based synthetic dyes from its product line. While the ingredients slated for removal are still FDA-approved and considered safe for use, Tyson says the move is about setting a higher bar for what families can expect on their dinner tables.
“We continuously review and assess our product portfolio to ensure the highest quality products that meet the needs of consumers,” <a href="https://www.tysonfoods.com/news/news-releases/2025/9/tyson-foods-plans-to-stop-using-high-fructose-corn-syrup">said</a> Donnie King, President &amp; CEO of Tyson Foods. “Our decision to remove High Fructose Corn Syrup and other ingredients reflects our ongoing commitment to feeding the world like family, while preserving the taste, value and integrity that define our iconic brands.”
The voluntary initiative builds on Tyson’s push to reduce sodium, sugars, and additives in its lineup of food products.
The announcement comes after Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced earlier this year that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is working with companies to phase out petroleum-based food dyes by the end of 2026 as part of the “Make America Healthy Again” agenda.
Tyson, as well as other companies including PepsiCo, vowed to make those changes ahead of schedule, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/major-food-companies-accelerate-maha-changes-to-recipes">reported</a>.
RFK Jr. has been an outspoken critic of companies using corn syrup, calling the common sugar substitute “poison.”
High-fructose corn syrup is “just a formula for making you obese and diabetic,” Kennedy once said, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The use of high fructose corn syrup has been at the center of debate among dieticians and health experts for years, as some studies have shown a link between high-fructose corn syrup consumption and the obesity epidemic. In July, President Trump said he was speaking to Coca-Cola about using real cane sugar in their soda instead, which he said the company agreed to do.
Trump wrote on Truth Social, “This will be a very good move by them — You’ll see. It’s just better!”

After scrapping their logo redesign due to public outcry, Cracker Barrel is now also backtracking on their planned restaurant renovations, too.
The company made the announcement via social media.
“You’ve shared your voices in recent weeks not just on our logo, but also on our restaurants,” a <a href="https://x.com/CrackerBarrel/status/1965424119660323068">statement</a> posted to X said. “We’re continuing to listen. Today, we’re suspending our remodels. If your restaurant hasn’t been remodeled, you don’t need to worry, it won’t be. With our recent announcement that our ‘Old Timer’ logo will remain, along with our bigger focus in the kitchen and on your plate, we hope that today’s step reinforces that we hear you.”
This caving to public outcry came not long after the company decided to scrap their pricey, much maligned logo overhaul and reinstate their “Old Timer” mascot back to his place beside the barrel. This decision was made after company stock prices plummeted and social media buzzed with criticism.
The company’s board, led by CEO Julie Felss Masino, ignored warning signs and criticism for months ahead of the announcement that they were ditching the old logo and giving stores a more modern look. Cracker Barrel previously abandoned the new logo in late August.
“We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have. The logo reversal came just hours after President Trump suggested it. “Cracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before,” the president shared on Truth Social at the time.

Cracker Barrel will bring back its old logo after days of ruthless criticism and a plummeting stock price following its botched rebranding.
The company’s board, led by CEO Julie Felss Masino, ignored warning signs and criticism for months ahead of the announcement last week that the restaurant chain would ditch its old logo and give its stores a modern look. The company appears to have walked back part of that decision on Tuesday.

Cracker Barrel’s reversal on its rebranding comes after the decision to replace the “old timer” with brown text on a sterile, yellow emblem drew the attention of President Donald Trump. Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/make-cracker-barrel-great-again-trump-dishes-branding-advice-as-customers-revolt">advised</a> the brand on Tuesday morning to reverse course. The company apparently heeded the advice hours later.

In the months leading up to the rebranding, Sardar Biglari, a top investor in the “Old Country Store,” struck out at the board in letters to shareholders in a failed bid to replace two board members. Biglari’s warning calls were repeatedly ignored, according to <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/money/cracker-barrels-ceo-board-dismissed-warnings-last-year-from-top-investor-who-called-rebranding-strategic-transformation-plan-obvious-folly?%3Fintcmp=tw_fbn&amp;taid=68adb6e557bcfa0001eba590&amp;utm_campaign=trueanthem&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter">Fox Business</a>.
In an October 2024 letter, Biglari called Cracker Barrel’s moves to rebrand “obvious folly” and said the company was “is in perilous times.” A month later, Biglari issued another warning letter: “If you had $100 in Cracker Barrel stock in January 2019, five years later it is worth about $30. Therefore, there is just $30 to go before the entire investment is lost.”
He struck out at the board: “They value collegiality over accountability.”
