Appearing on CBS&#8217;s &#8220;Face The Nation&#8221; with host John Dickerson on Sunday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) described his painful recovery from the attack by his Democratic neighbor as a &#8220;living hell.&#8221; Law enforcement officials arrested and charged Paul&#8217;s neighbor, Rene Boucher, for the attack in which he allegedly ran up and tackled Paul from behind.
&#8220;It was sort of, I guess, a living hell for the first four or five weeks,&#8221; Paul said. &#8220;Couldn&#8217;t get out of bed without assistance. Six broken ribs, damage to my lungs. Two bouts of pneumonia. It was really a tough go of it, but each day I feel a little bit better. This last month, I&#8217;ve been doing better.&#8221;
Dickerson then asked Paul if he has discussed with his colleagues how politics has become uglier in recent years. Paul was one of the Republicans that was attacked last summer during a baseball practice by Democrat activist-turned-terrorist James Hodgkinson, who attempted to murder the group of Republican lawmakers.
&#8220;You know, my colleagues come up all the time, and they want to make sure that there is some kind of deterrence, because people don`t want to think that it`s open season on our elected officials,&#8221; Paul continued. &#8220;I was also at the baseball field when we were shot at with automatic &#8212; semiautomatic fire, and Steve Scalise was severely wounded. And I was 10 feet from a young staffer who was shot in the leg.&#8221;
&#8220;We usually don&#8217;t ask if someone&#8217;s raped or mugged &#8212; why the person did it,&#8221; Paul noted. &#8220;We want punishment and deterrence, and I guess that&#8217;s what I&#8217;m mostly about. I just don&#8217;t think of any kind of motivation or justification, whether it&#8217;s political or personal, to attack someone who&#8217;s unaware from behind in their own yard.&#8221;

&#8220;Officers are willing to sacrifice their lives for these communities. That they give their all, particularly white cops. It&#8217;s still, in many department, a majority white officers are &#8212; are on the police force and they go into these communities and they risk their life.

There&#8217;s no question that the &#8212; the cop on the beat is sacrificing and &#8212; and committing their life to protect all of us, including communities of color.&#8221;

Brown added that &#8220;communities of color&#8221; are often treated differently than white communities:

&#8220;But at the same time, I don&#8217;t think there&#8217;s a contradiction in saying that communities of color do get treated differently by those few officers that don&#8217;t deserve to be in the profession. And there&#8217;s a small number, but for these communities, this becomes their worldview.&#8221;

Brown shared an anecdote from his childhood during desegregation:

&#8220;Yes, Mike Shillenburg (ph). A real quick story. In sixth grade I was part of busing, desegregation in this country, and I was bussed to an all-white school. Mike Shillenburg was a white kid. Obviously you can tell I&#8217;m black. And we were both 11 years old. And he invited me home for dinner because he saw the difficulties I was having in school. And that transformed my world view of race because Mike&#8217;s mom brought out two pot pies and we sat and had dinner and we became best friends. We&#8217;re friends today. And God knows what I would be thinking about people if Mike hadn&#8217;t invited me home for dinner. So, again, my takeaway is, see you at dinner. Let&#8217;s &#8212; let&#8217;s not be so divided.&#8221;

<a href="https://www.budget.senate.gov/bettercare">H.R. 1628</a>, the proposed Senate Republican &#8220;health care bill,&#8221; is being described by Democrats and assorted leftists as &#8220;mean-spirited,&#8221; with the usual suspects alleging the proposal as somehow reducing state-driven redistribution of wealth.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) pushed the neo-Marxist &#8220;one percenter&#8221; narrative &#8212; popularized by the Democrat-funded Occupy Wall Street movement &#8212; on NBC&#8217;s <a href="http://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/meet-press-june-25-2017-n776471">Meet The Press</a>:

&#8220;They&#8217;re seeing almost all new income and wealth going to the top 1 percent. &#8230;

This is a large tax cut for the wealthy. &#8230;

They are going to provide some $500 billion in tax breaks to the top 2%, to the insurance companies, and to the drug companies. Is what America supposed to be about, taking away health insurance from kids with disabilities, from people with cancer, in order to give tax breaks to billionaires?&#8221;

Richard Durbin (D-IL) derided H.R. 1628 as a boon for America&#8217;s &#8220;wealthiest people&#8221; and &#8220;pharmaceutical companies,&#8221; making his case on <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/transcript/2017/06/25/sec-tom-price-breaks-down-senate-health-care-bill.html">Fox News Sunday</a>:

NBC&#8217;s George Will &#8212; who is presented as a conservative across the news media landscape &#8212; echoed the left-wing and Democrat narrative of H.R. 1628: &#8220;This is a large tax cut for the wealthy.&#8221;

None of the Sunday show&#8217;s hosts &#8212; with the exception of Fox News Channel&#8217;s Brit Hume (filling in for Chris Wallace) on Fox News Sunday &#8212; inquired about the fiscal solvency of federal &#8220;social welfare&#8221; programs that ostensibly facilitate health care. No questions were asked about free market reforms, judicious administration of taxpayer funds, or moral hazards associated with diffusion of responsibility via state-driven redistributive &#8220;social welfare&#8221; programs.

ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN all present themselves as politically objective and non-partisan news media outlets.

&#8220;All the worst events of the 20th century took place because of the triumph of identity over idealism in Europe,&#8221; said Michael Gerson on <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/news/face-the-nation-transcript-may-7-2017-mulvaney-manchin-rice/">Sunday&#8217;s Face The Nation</a>, hosted by John Dickerson.

In discussing France&#8217;s presidential election, Gerson implied that Marine Le Pen and National Front &#8212; nationalistic political movements, more broadly &#8212; threaten to usher in violence reminiscent of the 20th century&#8217;s bloodiest wars and genocides.

The Holocaust and communist-driven mass murders of the last century, suggested Gerson, were functions of national identity overcoming &#8220;transnational ideals.&#8221; No explanation of &#8220;transnational ideals&#8221; was offered by Gerson, nor was he invited by any of Face the Nation&#8216;s guest panelists or the show&#8217;s host to articulate the nature of &#8220;transnational values.&#8221;

No mention was made of the anti-Semitic dimension of Nazi ideology or communism&#8217;s commodification of human lives. As Gerson ignored broader historical forces shaping the 20th century&#8217;s deadliest events, none of his Face the Nation colleagues challenged his historical analysis.

While nationalism was a significant element of Hitlerian ideology, it was fused with a paradigm of racial struggle. Adolf Hitler viewed race as integral to national identity, with the natural state of the human condition being characterized by a zero-sum battle between racially-defined nations for territory and power.

Gerson invoked the racial dimension of Nazism in his description of contemporary nationalisms across the West, describing them as rooted in &#8220;blood and soil.&#8221;

American nationalism was a primary driving force undergirding the United States&#8217; war effort to defeat Nazi Germany and its allies. Nationalism as a social force, underwrote resistance to Hitler&#8217;s designs across all of America&#8217;s primary allies, including the Soviet Union.

Gerson suggested that the absence of any major continental war (putting aside the Balkan War) across Europe since the Second World War was a function of the Bretton Woods network of multi-state institutions and the rise of the European Union (EU). 
In other words, global integration and diminished national sovereignty via centralized political power within international and multi-state institutions has ushered in a new era of peace across Europe, according to Gerson.

In explaining Europe&#8217;s relative peace compared to previous eras of continental war, Gerson made no mention of the Cold War&#8217;s geopolitical shifts of power and the ascendance of the nuclear age of weaponry.

Barack Obama echoed a similar view in <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/5238/obama-tells-germans-right-wing-may-usher-another-robert-kraychik">April of 2016</a>, recalling the specter of the Holocaust as a horrific possible outcome should the EU superstate be dissolved. David Cameron pushed the same narrative in <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/05/08/cameron-brexit-will-increase-risk-of-europe-descending-into-war/">May of 2016</a>. Al-Jazeera, Qatar&#8217;s English-language propaganda outlet, <a href="http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/2016/06/brexit-spectre-europe-ugly-nationalism-160608110032798.html">also parroted this perspective</a>.
Although a left-wing opinion columnist for The Washington Post and political commentator on CBS, Gerson is described as a Republican in his <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Gerson">Wikipedia profile</a> by virtue of his role as a speechwriter in George W. Bush&#8217;s administration.

Fox News Channel broke ranks with its competitors, with Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/transcript/2017/03/26/priebus-on-future-trumps-agenda-rep-jordan-details-conservative-opposition-to-gop-leadership-iraqi-pm-haider-al-abadi-talks-terror.html">dedicating some time</a> to discussing the Islamic terrorist attack in an interview with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
CNN&#8217;s secondary Sunday shows &#8211; <a href="http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1703/26/rs.01.html">Reliable Sources</a> and <a href="http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1703/26/fzgps.01.html">Global Public Square (GPS)</a> &#8211; likewise ignored the Islamic terrorist attack. GPS presents itself as a show focusing on global affairs and international relations.
Four people were murdered and 50 injured in the attack. The jihadist, 52-year-old Khalid Masood, initially used a rented SUV to as a weapon to run down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge. After crashing the vehicle, he murdered a <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3154540/london-attack-police-officer-keith-palmer-just-giving-page-westminster-terror/">48-year-old police officer</a>.

<a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/news/face-the-nation-transcript-march-19-2017-cruz-pelosi-mulvaney/">In an interview</a> with CBS&#8217;s John Dickerson for Face The Nation, Cruz rejected the assertion that Senate rules prohibit the grouping together of Ryan&#8217;s &#8220;<a href="http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2017/03/09/paul_ryan_powerpoint_presentation_this_is_the_closest_we_will_ever_get_to_obamacare_repeal.html">three-pronged</a>&#8221; strategy for reforming health care regulation &#8211; in which health care reform is achieved via the American Health Care Act&#8217;s (AHCA&#8217;s) passage, executive and administrative policy reforms, and further legislation &#8211; into one bill.

Describing Ryan&#8217;s proposal as a &#8220;three -bucket solution,&#8221; Cruz said the third bucket amount to a &#8220;sucker&#8217;s bucket.&#8221;

CRUZ: It&#8217;s their so-called three bucket solution, which is all the good stuff is in bucket three? Bucket three takes eight Democrats. Right now, Senate Democrats are opposing everything. You can&#8217;t get eight Senate Democrats to agree on saying good morning.

Anything in bucket three &#8211; I have called bucket three the sucker&#8217;s bucket. And what I have been urging the president and the administration and leader in both houses, take everything in bucket three, put it in bucket one. We have got to actually fix this problem.

DICKERSON: Their argument is that you can&#8217;t do it all in this, what you are calling bucket one, in the American Health Care Act that Paul Ryan and the president support because the rules of the Senate just will not allow it, and so that you&#8217;re &#8212; that is what you are up against here.

CRUZ: But that is fundamentally false.

The rules of the Senate, we&#8217;re on what is called budget reconciliation.

CRUZ: It is governed by the Budget Act of 1974.

It lays out a test for what is permissible on reconciliation, six-part test. The central part of the test is, it is budgetary in nature? If it is budgetary in nature, you can do it. If it&#8217;s not, you can&#8217;t.

You look at the insurance mandates, they impact billions of dollars of federal spending. And I will point out the Obama Justice Department went before the U.S. Supreme Court twice, and argued the mandates are integrally related, they&#8217;re intertwined with the subsidies, you cannot sever them.

Under the statute, we can do this now in bucket one. And if we don&#8217;t, this bill doesn&#8217;t pass. And if it doesn&#8217;t pass, it is a substantive and political disaster for everyone involved.
</blockquote>

Senate rules for &#8220;reconciliation,&#8221; articulated in 1974&#8217;s <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/93rd-congress/house-bill/7130">Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act</a>, stipulate that budgetary bills can be passed with minimal debate (<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20101202021810/https://www.rules.house.gov/archives/RL30862.pdf">twenty hours maximum</a>, overriding filibusters). Budgetary items subjectively deemed &#8220;<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20101205015541/https://www.rules.house.gov/archives/byrd_rule.htm">extraneous matters</a>&#8221; by the <a href="https://www.senate.gov/reference/glossary_term/parliamentarian.htm">Senate parliamentarian</a>, however, are subject to removal via a senator&#8217;s raising of a point of order challenging its budgetary germaneness.
Under the so-called &#8220;<a href="http://budget.house.gov/uploadedfiles/byrdrulepdf.pdf">Byrd rule</a>,&#8221; the Senate is prohibited from considering non-budgetary items (&#8220;extraneous matters&#8221;) as pat of a reconciliation bill. An item is deemed &#8220;extraneous&#8221; if it:

<li>does not produce a change in outlays or revenues;</li>
<li>produces changes in outlays or revenue which are merely incidental to the non-budgetary components of the provision;</li>
<li>is outside the jurisdiction of the committee that submitted the title or provision for inclusion in the reconciliation measure;</li>
<li>increases outlays or decreases revenue if the provision&#8217;s title, as a whole, fails to achieve the Senate reporting committee&#8217;s reconciliation instructions;</li>
<li>increases net outlays or decreases revenues during a fiscal year after the years covered by the reconciliation bill unless the provision&#8217;s title, as a whole, remains budget neutral;</li>
<li>contains recommendations regarding the social security trust funds.</li>
</ul>

Objections to the consideration of an &#8220;extraneous matter&#8221; via a senator&#8217;s raising of a point of order can be overcome with a three-fifths/sixty-vote Senate majority.

Jeffrey Goldberg, an editor with left-wing magazine The Atlantic, credited President Barack Obama with having &#8220;subverted&#8221; Castro&#8217;s political narrative in which America was framed as the eternal enemy:

Goldberg described Obama&#8217;s overtures to Cuba as &#8220;taking away the bogeyman&#8221; of Castro&#8217;s anti-American propaganda. No evidence was provided to substantiate any meaningful lessening of anti-American propaganda &#8211; either qualitatively or quantitatively &#8211; dispensed from the Cuban regime as a function of Obama&#8217;s foreign policy towards the island state.

Julia Sweig, a Cuba analyst for CBS News, spoke of Castro&#8217;s &#8220;complex career&#8221; and his promotion of Cuba&#8217;s status on the &#8220;world stage:&#8221;

&#8220;There is the analysis that will say, look, this guy took power, shut down speech, put people in prison, had a human rights legacy that was quite challenging and difficult for many people who were on the other end of it.

On the other hand, he rewrote the social contract in Cuba in a small island nation in which he put health care, education, culture, and the capacity for Cuba to have an independent foreign policy front and center as part of his legacy.
<div> </div>
And in Cuba &#8212; and I think we have to understand that there are 11 million people in Cuba &#8212; that legacy will be digested as giving Cuba a place on the world stage.&#8221;

Despite having written a book entitled &#8220;<a href="http://www.juliasweig.com/cuba-what-everyone-needs-to-know/">Cuba: What Everyone Needs to Know</a>,&#8221; Sweig neglected to offer her own analysis of Castro&#8217;s legacy, opting instead to reference unnamed &#8220;analysts&#8221; and people in Cuba.

Goldberg joined Sweig in hyping the socialist narrative of Cuba&#8217;s allegedly high-quality health care, education, and culture as functions of Castro&#8217;s control.

&#8220;But there are three things that Cubans will say Castro did well, health care, education and culture.
But the joke is that there are three things that Fidel Castro did not do well for the Cuban people, which was breakfast, lunch and dinner. And so you are looking at a guy who impoverished &#8212; or kept his country in an impoverished state because he refused to open up to capitalist reforms.
And obviously, on the political front, we will remember him in America as a guy who suppressed freedom. There is no way around the fact that it is a single-party communist state, and remains so.&#8221;

Like Sweig, Goldberg neglected to offer his own analysis, preferring to reference unnamed Cubans he presented himself as familiar with.

CBS did not speak with any Cubans or experts on Cuba in its analysis of the ramifications of Castro&#8217;s death or of his legacy.

CBS Hypes Castro’s ‘Complex’ Legacy

Hillary Clinton&#8217;s private email system contained information about recently executed Iranian nuclear scientist Shahram Amiri, said Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) on Sunday. Amiri was executed by the Iranian regime for treason. Accused of &#8220;giving vital information to the enemy,&#8221; Amiri was said to have colluded with the US.

Joining CBS&#8217;s Face The Nation for an interview with John Dickerson, Cotton connected Clinton&#8217;s email conduct with the execution.

You mentioned the Iranian scientist that was recently executed. Of course I&#8217;m not going to comment on what he may or may not have done for the United States government. But, in the emails that were on Hillary Clinton&#8217;s private server, there were conversations among her senior advisers about this gentleman. That goes to show just how reckless and careless her decision was to put that kind of highly classified information on a private server. I think her judgment is not suited to keep this country safe.

Amiri disappeared from Saudi Arabia in May or June of 2009, reappearing about a year later in Washington, D.C. He claimed to have been abducted by the CIA and coerced to cooperate with the agency. He returned to Iran in July of 2010 after requesting to do so. He was then arrested in May of 2011 and tried for treason. He was reportedly executed days ago.

CBS and other left-wing news outlets continually refuse to ask or explain why Clinton&#8217;s conduct was a self-admitted &#8220;mistake.&#8221; In an effort to preserve a pretense of objectivity, such news outlets occasionally examine the inconsistencies of Clinton&#8217;s statements. They ignore, however, is any analysis of the importance of the former Secretary of State&#8217;s conduct and her likely motivations.

Cotton Connects Clinton To Amiri’s Execution

In an interview aired Sunday on left-wing CBS, President Barack Obama blamed Donald Trump&#8217;s rhetoric for driving Islamic terrorism. Joining Face The Nation host John Dickerson, the president said the Republican presidential nominee&#8217;s political statements &#8220;do ISIL&#8217;s work.&#8221;

<blockquote>
One of the best ways of preventing [Islamic terrorism], is making sure that we don&#8217;t divide our own country. That we don&#8217;t succumb to fear, that we don&#8217;t sacrifice our values. And that we send a very strong signal to the world and to every American citizen that we&#8217;re in this together.
&#8230;
If we start engaging in the kinds of proposals that we&#8217;ve heard from Mr. Trump or some of his surrogates like Mr. Gingrich, where we start suggesting that we would apply religious tests to who could come in here, that we are screening Muslim Americans differently than we would others, then we are betraying that very thing that makes America exceptional, and that by the way has helped insulate us against some of the worst patterns of terrorist attacks because the Muslim American community here feels deeply American, and deeply committed to upholding the rule of law and working with law enforcement and rejecting intolerance and extremism that&#8217;s represented by the perversions of Islam that ISIL&#8217;s sending out through the internet or carrying out in the Middle East.

Dickerson offered no challenge or pushback to Obama&#8217;s claims in this regard. He also neglected to ask Obama about ideological, religious, or cultural drivers of Islamic terrorism. He also refused to inquire about unique social and political pathologies of Muslim-majority societies as they pertain to Islamic terrorism. Also ignored was Obama&#8217;s refusal to qualify this specific category of terrorism as &#8220;Islamic&#8221; or &#8220;Islamist&#8221; and his insistence that Islamic terrorists are &#8220;<a href="http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/10/politics/obama-isil-not-islamic/">not Islamic</a>.&#8221;
Obama, like-minded Democrats and left-wing personalities have repeated this position for months. What follows is a small sample of the chorus.
Last November, Obama <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/11/17/obama-calls-gop-rhetoric-on-syrian-refugees-a-potent-recruiting-tool-for-isil/">said</a> Trump&#8217;s rhetoric is a &#8220;recruitment tool&#8221; for ISIS. Less than a month later, CBS&#8217;s Ted Koppel <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/1831/video-legendary-koppel-calls-trump-recruiter-chief-robert-kraychik">said</a> Trump is ISIS&#8217;s &#8220;recruiter in chief.&#8221;
Last December, Hillary Clinton <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/2001/clinton-blames-another-video-islamic-terrorism-robert-kraychik">said</a>, &#8220;[Trump] is becoming ISIS&#8217;s best recruiter.&#8221; She has since repeated the claim many times. Left-wing PolitiFact, a misleading &#8220;fact-checker&#8221; site, <a href="http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/may/20/hillary-clinton/donald-trump-now-being-used-terrorist-propaganda-v/">ruled her claim</a> as &#8220;TRUE&#8221; on its &#8220;TRUTH-O-METER.&#8221;
Left-wing CNN <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/02/middleeast/al-shabaab-video-trump/">pushed</a> the same narrative of Trump as a recruitment buoy for ISIS. Left-wing ABC&#8217;s Joy Behar repeated the refrain, <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/6585/view-host-scoffs-orlando-terrorists-isis-pledge-chase-stephens">describing</a> Trump as ISIS&#8217;s &#8220;recruiter in chief.&#8221;
This narrative was repeated incessantly for weeks in the echo chamber that is the left-wing media landscape.

Dear readers, imagine if Thursday&#8217;s massacre had been committed by a white, right-wing, conservative, Christian man. Imagine if such a murderer had targeted Black Lives Matter protesters, expressly stating that he wanted to kill as many black persons as possible. Imagine if he was affiliated with white racial nationalism. Do you suppose the Sunday shows might spend appreciable time examining such a murderer&#8217;s motives? Do you suppose such an attack would be connected to Donald Trump, Republicans, and America&#8217;s broader freedom movement?
Micah Xavier Johnson was driven by left-wing racial politics. This week&#8217;s Sunday shows spent little-to-no time examining his political motivations. Ideological connections between Johnson and the broader left were almost completely ignored by this week&#8217;s episodes of Meet The Press, Face The Nation, This Week, and State of the Union. An examination of Johnson&#8217;s motives would be politically inconvenient for most of the media&#8217;s preferred presidential candidate. 
<a href="http://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/meet-press-july-10-2016-n606711">Meet The Press</a> spent time indulging the neo-Marxist racial narratives of Michael Eric Dyson, a sociology professor at Georgetown university who teaches such courses as Hip Hop Culture: Origins, Meanings, and Consequences, Hip Hop: Urban Theodicy Jay-Z, and Barack Obama and Race. Mary Matalin, the sole Republican panelist, did not challenge Dyson&#8217;s premises of black oppression.
Consider the following demagoguery from Dyson that went unchallenged:

&#8220;I was pleading, really, with white brothers and sisters to understand the difficulty, the circumstances that we confront, the extraordinary assault upon black life, the repudiation of any sense of civility when it comes to the interactions between police forces, which most African-American people regard with respect and authority, but whose authority has spilled over into terrorizing impulses and impacts upon African-American culture. And I wanted to talk about the vulnerability we feel. Even when you were interviewing Chief Bratton, a remarkable man to be sure, but he wanted to draw a false equivalence between talking to his son and Jeh Johnson speaking to his son.
&#8220;This is the very polarizing and brutalizing vulnerability that we feel that we are trying to express to white Americans who love and appreciate justice. Do you understand how difficult this is?&#8221;
</blockquote>
Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, a Democrat, said nothing about Johnson&#8217;s political motives when invited to do so by Face The Nation&#8217;s John Dickerson. Dickerson did not press Johnson for details following the mayor&#8217;s deflection. When presented with decontextualized (and unverified) statistics from NAACP President Cornell William Brooks, Dickerson offered no rebuttal. The narrative of black grievance was accepted without challenge.
Guest-hosting for <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/week-transcript-america-crisis-ambush-dallas/story?id=40463860">This Week</a>, Martha Raddatz opted not to examine Johnson&#8217;s murderous motives. Trump, however, was criticized by panelists Sunny Hostin and Matthew Dowd for not having been quick enough to condemn the police killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. No analysis was offered of Johnson&#8217;s politics of racial grievance.
State of the Union&#8216;s Jake Tapper likewise refused to examine ideological connections between the Dallas murderer and the broader left. Instead, time was dedicated to presenting Trump as racially divisive and incapable of mending racial divisions. Left-wing racial agitation as a driving force of the Dallas mass murder was ignored.
The Sunday shows refused to meaningfully identify the politics of Thursday&#8217;s racially-motivated terrorist attack in Dallas. Left-wing media is attempting to exonerate President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and itself from complicity in the deadly consequences of racial agitation. Five more police officers have now paid the price with their lives.

What If The Dallas Killer Was White, Right-Wing, Christian, And Conservative?

CBS News Election Director Anthony Salvanto described the &#8220;big themes&#8221; animating Donald Trump&#8217;s base of support during a segment on Sunday&#8217;s Face The Nation. Joining colleague John Dickerson, he observed Trump&#8217;s supporters&#8217;s concerns as cutting to the heart of American identity.

&#8220;[Trump&#8217;s supporters are] concerned about issues like, what it means to be an American,&#8221; said Salvanto, later adding, &#8220;They are talking about not only what it means to be an American. They see the nation as being at war. Larger issues of identity.&#8221;
While not isolating the changes to immigration and refugee admission policies over the past half century, Salvanto exposits on drivers of Trump&#8217;s supporters&#8217; concerns without <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/2285/sunday-show-consensus-trump-supporters-angry-robert-kraychik">denigrating them</a> as old, white, fearful, and hate-filled racists.
Republican voters, added Salvanto, see America facing &#8220;existential&#8221; threats to its nationhood.
Supporters of Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, were concerned with &#8220;procedural&#8221; adjustments to management of the economy. 

Salvanto concluded that Republicans and Democrats are essentially speaking different political languages, with the two camps mostly concerned about entirely different issues.

SALVANTO: What&#8217;s holding him up is that his voters are concerned with much larger issues than what we in Washington get concerned about, the day-to-day ups and downs, what he says, how much money he raises in the campaign. They&#8217;re concerned about issues like, what it means to be an American. Big themes, that&#8217;s what they say.
They&#8217;re concerned about things like the pace of globalization. You were talking about Brexit earlier. And there are some similarities between what we saw over there in Britain and what you see in Donald Trump&#8217;s voters that I think are instructive, not necessarily predictive. You know, his voters are saying that the pace of cultural change is going too fast for them.
So with these larger themes in mind &#8212; and their missions is really to upend and change a system that they don&#8217;t think is working, then the day-to-day movements of the campaign and what he says just don&#8217;t matter that much.
DICKERSON: Right, so they&#8217;re focused on the big stuff, where they think there&#8217;s a big distinction between the candidates. So any little thing is just kind of beside the point.
SALVANTO: Yes.
DICKERSON: Let&#8217;s talk about &#8212; in the &#8212; in the polls, there had been a national picture which shows Donald Trump doing worse than Hillary Clinton by 4, 5, 6 points depending on which national poll you look at. But in these states it seems much closer. Is there a reason for that?
SALVANTO: Yes, and it&#8217;s partisanship. I mean one of the reasons you should always watch the battleground states, besides the obvious fact that the election is decided state by state, is that these are battleground states for a reason. They&#8217;re close in terms of their partisan split between Democrats and Republicans. And what you see in all of these numbers now is that partisans have come home to both these candidates, divided into their respective corners and they&#8217;re not moving. And that&#8217;s &#8212; that&#8217;s underpinning each of their support.
DICKERSON: So let&#8217;s talk about Hillary Clinton. What is holding her up? What do her voters want to see?
SALVANTO: Yes, something very different, which is, they&#8217;re looking for somebody who can manage things day to day. They&#8217;re interested in having an economy that they think works fairly and securing rights for people who don&#8217;t yet have them but deserve them. So that&#8217;s a very big contrast.
In fact, you know, you want to make note of that contrast. Even as we get here in the early part of the campaign, defining what the campaign is about. You know, they&#8217;re not always &#8212; even arguing over the same things.
DICKERSON: Right.
SALVANTO: These voters &#8212; for Republicans, this is almost, you know, at the risk of hyperbole, this is almost existential. They&#8217;re talking about not only what it means to be an American. They see the nation as being at war. Larger issues of identity.
DICKERSON: Think of it more in terms of terrorism.
SALVANTO: Yes.
DICKERSON: The threat from terrorism continues.
SALVANTO: Yes. Yes. And &#8212; and so &#8212; so those are larger issues for them, whereas for Democrats it seems much more procedural, how they manage this, how the economy works and so they&#8217;re very &#8212; they&#8217;re very, very different in both &#8212; in what they see as actually this election being about.
DICKERSON: Any &#8212; anything nervous for Hillary Clinton to &#8212; or anything for her to be nervous about in these findings?
SALVANTO: Yes, well, she&#8217;s leading, but at the same time, she has to watch a couple of things. One is that Donald Trump continues to own the issue of change. More people in these states say he can bring change.
Now, he&#8217;s limited to some extent, because the voters we talked about, the ones who feel like they&#8217;re not at ease with globalization, et cetera, there is enough of them to keep him where he is, but not yet to propel him to a win. So if they start to look more for change for change&#8217;s sake, then I think we could see the needle move a little bit.
DICKERSON: Twenty seconds. What about candidate running as Republicans with Donald Trump at the top of the ticket. What do they have to be concerned about?
SALVANTO: Well, the top of the ticket always effects the down ballot &#8212; we call it down ballot races. The mechanics of that are that people don&#8217;t split tickets much anymore and so the party will be concerned that if their presidential candidate doesn&#8217;t do well, that people running for Senate and House will get dragged down because of that.

CBS: Trump Supporters Asking ‘What It Means To Be An American’

&#8220;[Profiling Muslims is] not the worst thing to do,&#8221; <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/news/face-the-nation-transcripts-june-19-2016-trump-lynch-lapierre-feinstein/">said</a> Donald Trump about measures to combat Islamic terrorism. &#8220;I hate the concept of profiling, but we have to use common sense. We&#8217;re not using common sense.&#8221;

Speaking with CBS&#8217;s John Dickerson for a phone interview with Face The Nation, Trump called for increased &#8220;profiling&#8221; of Muslims in America in light of last week&#8217;s Islamic terrorist attack targeting LGBT persons at a nightclub in Orlando.

&#8220;Well, I think profiling is something that we&#8217;re going to have to start thinking about as a country. And other countries do it,&#8221; said Trump. &#8220;And you look at Israel and you look at others, and they do it. And they do it successfully. And I hate the concept of profiling. But we have to start using common sense, and we have to use &#8212; we have to use our heads.&#8221;

Mosques were previously surveilled in New York City, said Trump, indirectly criticizing the city&#8217;s mayor.
In 2014, Mayor Bill de Blasio&#8217;s <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/08/nyregion/new-york-to-appoint-monitor-to-review-polices-counterterrorism-activity.html?_r=0">placed</a> an &#8220;independent civilian&#8221; lawyer in an oversight position for the Big Apple&#8217;s counterterrorism operations. The socialist mayor <a href="http://thehill.com/homenews/news/217628-de-blasio-under-fire-amid-new-threat-from-isis">ended</a> various counterterrorism measures of surveillance and intelligence gathering agitation from left-wing &#8220;civil rights&#8221; groups such as the ACLU.
&#8220;Political correctness&#8221; said Trump, was getting Americans killed. The Islamic terrorist attack in San Bernardino, implied Trump, was <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/1562/san-bernardino-proves-once-and-all-political-ben-shapiro">connected</a> to the left-wing ethos. A San Bernardino resident <a href="http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2015/12/02/authorities-search-redlands-home-tied-to-suspect-syed-farook/">chose not to report</a> Muslim men he viewed as suspicious for fear of engaging in &#8220;racial profiling.&#8221;
Opposition to &#8220;political correctness&#8221; has been framed by Trump as a pillar of his presidential campaign, with him and his political surrogates often describing the left-wing political disposition as dangerous.
Equivocating on the question of whether persons on terror watch lists or no-fly lists should have their Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms infringed upon, Trump said he is &#8220;dealing with the NRA.&#8221;

Asking broad and open-ended questions which allowed Hillary Clinton to shift towards generic partisan and left-wing talking points, CBS&#8217;s John Dickerson essentially assisted the former first lady in producing a campaign infomercial masquerading as a segment of journalism.

Host of the left-wing network&#8217;s flagship Sunday show Face The Nation, Dickerson refused to challenge Clinton&#8217;s misleading statements and evasions pertaining to her use of a private server with which to send and receive emails in her former capacity as Secretary of State.

Below are the questions Dickerson asked Clinton about her private email server:

&#8220;Let me ask you about developments in the investigation into your email server. Apparently the FBI has contacted your team in terms of talking to you, what can you tell us about that?&#8221;

&#8220;So they, so nobody said, &#8216;Hillary Clinton, we&#8217;d like to interview you,&#8217; from the FBI?&#8221;

&#8220;If there is this moment, where voters are &#8211; looking now in a general election context, they&#8217;re thinking of you versus Donald Trump &#8211; some voters may be paying attention now in a different kind of way. What&#8217;s your answer to those people who think, &#8216;Gee, FBI inquiry. That&#8217;s a big deal.&#8217; What do you say to them?&#8221;

&#8220;So a voter will know, when Hillary Clinton&#8217;s a president in the office, and a convenient option arrives, maybe she&#8217;ll think twice about it?&#8221;

No challenge was provided by Dickerson towards Clinton&#8217;s misleading statement that no emails she sent or received we &#8220;marked classified&#8221; at the times of their sending and reception, given that her role as Secretary of State put her in a position to send and receive original emails prior to subsequent classification by any intelligence agency.

Also ignored was Clinton&#8217;s signing of a non-disclosure agreement, in which the likely Democratic presidential nominee committed to the responsible handling of state secrets.

No questions were asked about the Romanian hacker Marcel Lehel Lazar &#8211; AKA &#8220;Guccifer&#8221; &#8211; who was <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/5473/romanian-hacker-it-was-easy-hack-clintons-email-robert-kraychik">extradited</a> to the United States on or around March 31, possibly in connection to the ongoing FBI investigation into Clinton&#8217;s handling of state secrets.

David Rhodes, President of CBS News, is the brother of President Barack Obama&#8217;s national security speechwriter Ben Rhodes.

Throughout her interview with Dickerson, Clinton repeatedly called on the media to ask Donald Trump more pointed questions and challenge him more forcefully.
