As news broke that a mass shooter with a high-powered rifle had opened fire on people in a skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, CNN anchor Erin Burnett and CNN Chief Law Enforcement and Intelligence Analyst John Miller both speculated that the gunman was “possibly white,” catalyzing anger on social media.
Surveillance images quickly surfaced after the mass shooting, showing the dark-complexioned, mustachioed gunman walking into the building at 345 Park Avenue with a rifle, wearing sunglasses and dark clothes. The Daily Wire is not publishing the gunman’s name due to a company policy against contributing to the unintentional glorification of mass shooters.
“People don&#8217;t walk around with guns like that. But was his face visible? I mean, do they — they have any idea at this point who he is?” Burnett asked Miller.
“They do not know who he is,” Miller stated. “They know he is a male, possibly white. He&#8217;s wearing sunglasses. He appears to have a mustache. And that picture has been distributed to every police officer in New York City particularly, has been sent to the phones of the search teams inside that building because whenever they encounter a group of people, the first thing they have to figure out is, is that individual among these people hiding among victims or pretending to be an office worker, because one thing you don&#8217;t want to have happen is to have this kind of cordon where you&#8217;re trying to evacuate people in groups as you can get them to a safe corridor and have this person slip out with them.&#8221;
“Male, possibly white, mustache, sunglasses in that building,” Burnett repeated. Later. She repeated, “There were a few things that really stood out there among them that they did get. They do know what he looks like. Sunglasses, mustache, male, possibly white &#8230;”
Ironically, later in the broadcast Miller stated, “One of the cautions here, as you know, from having done so many of these, Erin, unfortunately, is that we always have to be mindful of the idea that between people who are watching, listening information that&#8217;s being sent over social media, that we have to be a little bit guarded on specifics.”
“You share what you can from your sources. Some of it obviously, you must protect,” Burnett stated.
Social media slammed Burnett. One post stated, “CNN anchor Erin Burnett stated live on the air that the obviously not white man, quote, was ‘possibly white.’ Embarrassing attempt to politicize this tragedy.”

One month before the 2024 election, Burnett remained silent when her guest Democratic strategist guest, Aisha Mills, bridled, “As a black lesbian who Donald Trump doesn’t believe has genes as good as his, is he going to attempt to exterminate me?” and railed to CNN senior political commentator David Urban, “I’m not going to be lectured by some white man who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.” Urban responded, “Shame on you, Aisha,” prompting Burnett to state, “Let me just say I appreciate — OK, I appreciate both of you, I know it&#8217;s obviously getting heated. I think — I think what people appreciate about both of you is you mean what you say and you say what you mean. You&#8217;re both very genuine people.”

CNN host Erin Burnett grilled President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> during an interview this week over his widely criticized performance on economic matters in the U.S. just months before the 2024 presidential election.
Burnett noted in the interview that the economy was &#8220;by far the most important issue for voters&#8221; and that voters overwhelmingly favor former President Donald Trump over Biden.
&#8220;The cost of buying a home in the United States is double what it was, when you look at your monthly costs, from before the pandemic. Real income, when you account for inflation, is actually down since you took office, economic growth last week far short of expectations,&#8221; Burnett said. &#8220;Consumer confidence, maybe no surprise, is near a two-year low. With less than six months to go to Election Day, are you worried that you&#8217;re running out of time to turn that around?&#8221;
Biden responded by claiming that he had already turned everything around, even though the areas that Burnett mentioned have all gotten worse under Biden.
Burnett didn&#8217;t even mention that Biden&#8217;s American Rescue Plan triggered a massive spike in inflation — the highest level in four decades — that has hurt many families and businesses.

Critics blasted <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cnn">CNN</a> anchor Erin Burnett for a soft-touch report on the Hamas terrorists who are still holding approximately 200 hostages in Gaza — after they perpetrated devastating attacks against Israeli civilians, killing more than 1,300, on October 7.
While reporting on the hostages, Burnett&#8217;s report appeared to suggest they were being treated humanely when she took time to note that the Hamas network of tunnels — where the hostages are believed to be held — has ventilation and even air conditioning, among other things.

We know that they&#8217;ve been known to have air conditioning, this has all been reporting that we&#8217;ve heard from the Israelis over the years,&#8221; Burnett said, referencing claims from at least one of the released hostages that her Hamas captors had provided things like food and medicine to hostages.
&#8220;There was shampoo. There was antibiotics. There was a guard per hostage in the experience she had,&#8221;  Burnett continued. &#8220;There were medics and paramedics, and obviously she is elderly, the woman who was released also elderly and had medical needs and that they had the medicine needed and if not something similar to replace it.&#8221;
Burnett went on to note the &#8220;contrast&#8221; with the situation &#8220;above the ground&#8221; in Gaza, where the civilian population was without sufficient water and food and even hospitals were unable to care properly for those who needed it – largely because Hamas controls access to all of those things and had stockpiled them.
Critics pushed back, noting that Burnett appeared to be giving Hamas terrorists credit for treating their hostages better than the civilian population.

On Monday, as President Trump highlighted in his coronavirus press briefing the way media coverage of his administration has been biased, the network decided to mock Trump consistently by running chyrons at the bottom of the screen full of scorn and vitriol.
Trump used part of the briefing to air a video showing how the media had unfairly criticized him.

Oregon Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley gave an interesting definition of the word &#8220;socialism&#8221; on Wednesday following President Donald Trump&#8217;s attack on the far-left ideology during his State of the Union address.
In an interview on CNN&#8217;s &#8220;Erin Burnett OutFront,&#8221; Merkley defined socialism as &#8220;a society coming together to increase the standard of living of our seniors,&#8221; according to a segment flagged by <a href="https://freebeacon.com/politics/merkley-socialism-is-society-coming-together-to-increase-the-standard-of-living-of-our-seniors/">The Free Beacon</a>.
&#8220;Do you agree, Senator Merkley, at the bottom line, America should never be a socialist country?&#8221;

CNN&#8217;s Erin Burnett and Joan Walsh lost their minds on Monday night after President Donald Trump made a &#8220;salad&#8221; joke while the Clemson Tigers&#8217; football team visited the White House where they ate food personally paid for by the president.
&#8220;So I had a choice,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;Do we have no food for you? Because we have a shutdown, or do we give you some little quick salads that the first lady will make, along with &#8212; along with the second lady, they&#8217;ll make some salads.&#8221;
&#8220;That&#8217;s appalling,&#8221; Walsh responded. &#8220;It seems to me like the president will not be happy until there is not one single female Republican voter in the country. It&#8217;s incredibly sexist.&#8221;
Walsh also falsely suggested that Trump was talking about his daughter Ivanka Trump and not Karen Pence when he said &#8220;the second lady,&#8221; despite the fact that Trump motioned to Vice President Mike Pence when he said it.
Scott Jennings called out the absurdity of Burnett&#8217;s and Walsh&#8217;s comments, suggesting that they were &#8220;over-reading this one.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m not over-reading it,&#8221; Burnett fired back. &#8220;He made a joke that was sexist about women.&#8221;

She&#8217;s actually a senior adviser to the president.
So, the idea that he would demean her specifically in that way, he shouldn&#8217;t talk about the first lady that way. We aren&#8217;t all here to make salads for men. It&#8217;s disgusting.

As a major national scandal continued to unfold on Tuesday night, CNN was busy shaming the leader of a Christian organization for supporting President Donald Trump by airing the Hollywood Access Tapes from 2005 in which then-private citizen Donald Trump made the infamous &#8220;grab &#8217;em by the p***y&#8221; remark.
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) dropped a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/26265/bombshell-informant-tells-congress-there-really-hank-berrien">bombshell</a> on Fox News on Tuesday when he said that Congress may have access to an informant who claims that the &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/26202/breaking-new-texts-anti-trump-fbi-agents-talk-ryan-saavedra">secret society</a>&#8221; mentioned in anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok&#8217;s text messages did exist.
Instead of covering this new FBI bombshell, CNN trotted out Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, to ask him how Christians &#8212; whose entire religion is based on love and forgiveness &#8212; could forgive and support President Donald Trump over lewd remarks he made 13 years ago and for his past alleged behavior.
As Perkins answered host Erin Burnett&#8217;s loaded questions, Burnett appeared to be annoyed, looking down for a significant amount of time.

Acosta joined CNN colleagues Erin Burnett and John Avlon to reflect on his <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/19279/watch-stephen-miller-eats-cnns-jim-acosta-robert-kraychik">earlier exchange</a> with White House Senior Advisor Stephen Miller regarding President Donald Trump&#8217;s proposed reforms to immigration policy.
Acosta drew on the &#8220;Make America Great Again&#8221; slogan to continue his opposition to a meritocratic immigration system:

I was just essentially trying to test Stephen Miller on a couple of those points, and I think what you saw unfold in the briefing room is that he really just couldn&#8217;t take that kind of heat and exploded before our eyes.

Speaking with CNN&#8217;s Erin Burnett, Gutierrez called on Americans to &#8220;stand up&#8221; and &#8220;confront our government.&#8221; 
&#8220;Whether it&#8217;s transgender kids, whether it&#8217;s a woman&#8217;s right to choose, whether it&#8217;s fifteen dollars an hour, whether it&#8217;s our environment, whether it&#8217;s a Muslim ban,&#8221; said Gutierrez, listing a litany of left-wing and Democrat grievances. &#8220;Part of being an American,&#8221; he continued, was &#8220;standing up &#8230; to unfairness and injustice.&#8221;
The &#8220;criminalizing&#8221; of foreigners illegally in the homeland, said Gutierrez, was immoral. The &#8220;immigrant community,&#8221; he added, &#8220;[is] vulnerable and fearful &#8230; and they cannot defend themselves.&#8221;
