Former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> received an endorsement from House Speaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mike-johnson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike Johnson</a> (R-LA) on Tuesday, extending a streak of good relations between the two Republicans.
Johnson declared his support for Trump during an interview on CNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Squawk Box&#8221; upon being pressed by co-host Joe Kernen, who noted that the speaker is widely known as a &#8220;Trump ally&#8221; but had not publicly embraced a particular candidate in the 2024 White House race as far as he knew.
“I have endorsed him wholeheartedly,&#8221; Johnson replied.

Though Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) initially got Trump&#8217;s endorsement in the race for speaker after Rep. Sanders will appear with Trump on stage at his rally near Miami on Wednesday, the same night the third Republican presidential debate will take place just right down the road from Trump’s event, NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/sarah-huckabee-sanders-set-endorse-trump-florida-rally-miami-rcna123876" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The Arkansas governor’s endorsement comes as Trump dominates the GOP field in the polls and is ahead of President Joe Biden in the Real Clear Politics average of national polling. 
&#8220;It’s not a question between right versus left anymore,&#8221; Sanders said in a statement. &#8220;It’s normal versus crazy, and President Biden and the left are doubling down on crazy. Sanders&#8217; statement echoed her <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-choice-is-between-normal-and-crazy-sarah-sanders-draws-sharp-contrast-with-dems-in-sotu-response" target="_blank" rel="noopener">response</a> to Biden&#8217;s most recent State of the Union Address, where she drew a contrast between the Republicans&#8217; and Democrats&#8217; visions for the future of America.

But you get crushed with high gas prices, empty grocery shelves, and our children are taught to hate one another on account of their race, but not to love one another or our great country,” she said in the GOP&#8217;s televised response to Biden&#8217;s SOTU. “The dividing line in America is no longer between Right or Left. The former press secretary for Trump had reportedly frustrated the Trump campaign by withholding her endorsement for this long as he faces a slew of Republican opponents in the GOP primary. The former president responded to Sanders’ pending endorsement, calling it an “honor.” 
“We had great success in the White House and it’s an honor to have Sarah’s endorsement,&#8221; Trump said in a statement. &#8220;I look forward to having her at the big rally in Hialeah this Wednesday.”

Sanders’ endorsement of Trump comes after the former president’s Republican rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/iowa-governor-reynolds-endorses-desantis-for-president-hes-the-person-we-need-leading-this-country" target="_blank" rel="noopener">endorsed</a> by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds on Monday, securing his biggest endorsement of the 2024 primary. Retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson endorsed former President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign during an Iowa rally on Sunday.

The former GOP candidate <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcOiWYEnjVA" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blasted</a> the Biden administration’s border policies and told the crowd that under Trump, the United States had a secure border. Carson said it’s almost certain that terrorists have flowed through the border during Biden’s three years in office, quipping it would be “terrorist malpractice” if they weren’t already planning something.

“But one man had the courage to take on the political establishment and give the people a voice in Washington, with no concern about what it would cost him,” Carson said. “Donald Trump lost millions if not billions of dollars. And he’s been attacked constantly and demonized, and yet, he’s still there. They haven’t gotten rid of him. They’re trying to do everything in their power to get rid of him. Former President Donald Trump on Saturday called on his former vice president and previous running mate to endorse him. 
Former Vice President Mike Pence had <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mike-pence-suspends-2024-presidential-campaign" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suspended</a> his presidential campaign earlier in the day during a speech at the Republican Jewish Coalition Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. 
“People are leaving now and they’re all endorsing me,” Trump said. “I don’t know about Mike Pence. He should endorse me. He should endorse me. You know why? Because I had a great successful presidency and he was the vice president. He should endorse me. I chose him, made him vice president, but people in politics can be very disloyal.”

In his speech, Pence told the crowd it was not his time to lead the country but said he would “never leave the fight for conservative values.” He did not make an endorsement but called on Republicans to stay away from the “siren song of populism.”

According to the RealClearPolitics <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/2024_republican_presidential_nomination-7548.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">average</a> of polls, Pence’s polling average was 3.5%, well behind Trump’s average of 59.1%. He was polling in fifth place, behind Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, and tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. 
Trump’s call for Pence’s endorsement came during his second speech in Las Vegas on Saturday – he spoke at the Republican Jewish Coalition gathering shortly after Pence but did not address his former VP&#8217;s campaign suspension during the appearance. DeSantis spoke immediately after Pence and also did not address the former VP’s comments, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/mike-pence-suspends-2024-presidential-campaign" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to Fox News, though he did issue a statement later.  
Pence served as vice president from 2017 to 2021 under Trump. Leading up to the events of January 6, 2021, their relationship appeared to strain, and both Trump and Pence have since taken shots at each other. 
In Trump&#8217;s speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition, he said that &#8220;everybody that leaves&#8221; the race was endorsing him, referring to conservative talk radio host Larry Elder and Michigan businessman Perry Johnson. Elder <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/larry-elder-suspends-presidential-campaign-endorses-trump-its-time-to-unite" target="_blank" rel="noopener">endorsed</a> Trump after suspending his presidential campaign just days ago, saying that Trump&#8217;s “leadership has been instrumental in advancing conservative, America-first principles.”

He endorsed Trump last week, saying he is the only candidate who can “provide a solution to our nation’s economic, foreign policy and social crises, and most importantly, beat Joe Biden at the ballot box.”

Conservative talk radio host and 2024 presidential candidate Larry Elder announced he was suspending his campaign Thursday evening, saying it’s time for Republicans to “unite behind Donald Trump.” 
Elder launched his presidential campaign in April, but low fundraising hauls and near-zero numbers in the polls made his 2024 bid one of the biggest longshots in the crowded GOP field. The conservative commentator, who ran against California Governor Gavin Newsom in a failed 2021 recall effort, said he is “proud” to endorse former President Trump, praising his conservative leadership. 
&#8220;Now that I am exiting the race, I am proud to announce my endorsement of Donald Trump for President of the United States. His leadership has been instrumental in advancing conservative, America-first principles and policies that have benefited our great nation,&#8221; Elder said in a statement. &#8220;We must unite behind Donald Trump to beat Joe Biden and fight back against Biden’s unprecedented election interference and the left’s destruction of America.”

After suspending his campaign, Elder <a href="https://twitter.com/larryelder/status/1717665800142688704">said</a> he met with the former president to personally give him his endorsement. 
Elder launched his presidential bid to address “the biggest issues” facing the U.S., which he defined as “the crisis of fatherlessness, the dangerous lie that America is systemically racist, the need for an amendment to the constitution to set federal spending to a fixed percentage of the GDP — otherwise government gets bigger whether Republicans or Democrats are in charge, and the need to remove the Soros-backed DAs across the country who refuse to enforce the law.&#8221; 
The conservative radio host previously <a href="https://twitter.com/larryelder/status/1693958883872539019" target="_blank" rel="noopener">criticized</a> Republican Party rules that kept him off the debate stage, saying they were &#8220;rigged&#8221; and threatened to sue the RNC to &#8220;halt&#8221; the first debate in August. Elder argued that GOP leaders were &#8220;afraid of having [his] voice on the debate stage.&#8221;
Elder is the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/larry-elder-drops-out-presidential-race-a3d3665cd50d1e0d2071ab8800075482">fourth</a> long-shot Republican candidate to drop out of the 2024 presidential race. Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and former Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) were the first to drop out, and Michigan businessman Perry Johnson exited the race last week before he too endorsed Trump. Hurd endorsed former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who is jostling with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for second place behind Trump in the polls. 
The Californian added that while he is dropping out of the presidential race, he remains committed to fighting for conservative values.

After his GOP campaign to become Michigan governor the year prior <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/michigan-supreme-court-ends-gop-candidates-ballot-hopes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hit a snag</a> due to an alleged signature forgery scheme that kept him off the primary ballot, Perry <a href="https://apnews.com/article/perry-johnson-2024-presidential-campaign-b734b469aa0b56a94e19ef0125cf5997" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> a presidential bid in March. Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/endorsement">endorsed</a> <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump">Donald Trump</a> on Monday, becoming the 11th GOP senator to rally behind the former president&#8217;s 2024 bid to retake the White House.
Braun, who is running for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/indiana-gop-senator-mike-braun-announces-hes-running-for-governor">governor of Indiana</a>, made the announcement in a <a href="https://twitter.com/braun4indiana/status/1703808632763064764">statement</a> posted to his campaign account on X. He picked Trump over fellow Hoosier <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mike-pence">Mike Pence</a>, a former <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/indiana">Indiana</a> governor and Trump&#8217;s former vice president.
&#8220;As a Main Street Entrepreneur and political outsider, I&#8217;ve seen firsthand how the Washington swamp works against Hoosiers and works overtime to hamper our prosperity,&#8221; Braun said.
&#8220;Donald Trump is a businessman and outsider. Together we took on the Washington swamp with a historic victory in the 2018 Indiana Senate race. We installed constitutional conservatives on the Supreme Court who have protected the unborn and our Second Amendment rights, and we disrupted the cozy, self-serving Washington elites who are bankrupting our country,&#8221; the senator added.

Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Ted Budd (R-NC), Steve Daines (R-MT), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Bill Hagarty (R-TN), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), Eric Schmitt (R-MO), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), and J.D. Vance (R-OH).
Trump also has the endorsements of 75 members of the U.S. House, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/who-has-endorsed-donald-trump-president-2024-republicans-gop-2023-2">according to an Insider tracker</a>.
A <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/29/us/trump-pac-legal-fees.html">great deal of resources</a> are being spent on helping Trump combat four criminal indictments, but he remains the front-runner in polling for the GOP nomination contest with more than 55% support among a <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/2024_republican_presidential_nomination-7548.html">large field of competitors</a> — and his national polling average once again edged out President Joe Biden in a hypothetical general election rematch with about 415 days until the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/2024-election">2024 general election</a>.

Former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-lashes-out-at-iowa-governor-kim-reynolds" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> received endorsements from the entire Michigan Republican Congressional delegation Tuesday and gave all six Republican representatives who threw their support behind him positions on his Michigan federal leadership team. 
GOP Reps. Tim Walberg, Bill Huizenga, John Moolenaar, Jack Bergman, Lisa McClain, and John James gave Trump their full support for the 2024 race, saying the former president proved his ability to win key battleground states such as Michigan after he became the first Republican to win the state since George H.W. Bush in 1988. 
“Under the Trump presidency, America was prosperous, the economy was strong, the world was a safer place, and Michiganders were better off. President Trump has proven he has the ability to deliver results on Day One and also the ability to win in key battleground states like Michigan, being the only Republican to win a Presidential race here since 1988,” Walberg, Moolenaar, Bergman, and McClain said in a joint <a href="https://djt.nucleusemail.com/amplify/v/SavFtbF7td?hids=%recipient.hids%&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=ncl_amplify&amp;utm_campaign=230711-president_donald_j_trump_announces_his_michigan_federal_leadership_team&amp;utm_content=ncl-Q3Zjfun7AA&amp;_nlid=Q3Zjfun7AA&amp;_nhids=%recipient.hids%">statement</a> released by Trump’s team. 
James, a freshman in the House who many believe is a rising star in the Republican Party, praised Trump’s administration for helping middle-class families live comfortably during his time in office, something James said the Biden administration has failed to achieve. 
“President Biden has wrecked our economy, let our position as the sole world power slip, and opened our borders. Biden’s policies have been particularly detrimental to Michigan’s middle class,” James said. “Under President Trump on the other hand, inflation was at 2%, the American family was strengthened through the child tax credit and other pro-family policies, and our communities were more secure. In 2024, we need to give hope to Americans who feel like their government is failing them.”
Trump won the Great Lakes State in 2016, narrowly edging out Democrat Hillary Clinton by just over 10,000 votes. The 2016 election was a short-lived victory in Michigan for Trump and the Republican Party, however, as the former president lost the state to Joe Biden in 2020, and Michigan Democrats took full control of the state government in the 2022 midterms. 
The Midwest state will be an important battleground for whoever takes the Republican nomination as the winner of Michigan has gone on to win the presidency in each of the <a href="https://www.270towin.com/historical-presidential-elections/timeline/">past four elections</a>. Trump is currently dominating the large field of GOP candidates, with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis coming in second as his closest challenger, but the Republican governor remains more than 30 percentage points behind Trump, <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/2024_republican_presidential_nomination-7548.html">according</a> to Real Clear Politics polling average. 
The former president has received <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/who-has-endorsed-donald-trump-president-2024-republicans-gop-2023-2">endorsements</a> from ten Republican senators and 67 Republican House members, including the Michigan delegation that most recently came out in support of him. Meanwhile, DeSantis has pulled in five <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/who-has-endorsed-ron-desantis-president-2024-republicans-florida-2023-5">endorsements</a> from sitting congress members, including staunch conservative Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Chip Roy (R-TX).

Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/bernie-sanders" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bernie Sanders</a> (I-VT) says he will not run another campaign for president in the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/2024-election" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2024 cycle</a> and will instead support President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a>&#8216;s re-election effort.
&#8220;I’m in to do what I can to make sure that the president is re-elected,&#8221; Sanders <a href="https://apnews.com/article/bernie-sanders-biden-endorsement-2024-d8f0772b117e2bf83e1062708ea651c0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told the Associated Press</a> on Tuesday.
Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist, ran as a candidate in the Democratic Party&#8217;s last two presidential primary contests, giving Hillary Clinton a run for her money in 2016 right up until the convention and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-on-bernie-dropping-out-we-all-know-who-to-thank-and-why-this-actually-happened" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bowing out to Biden</a> after he failed to gain similar momentum in 2020.
The senator publicly eschewed a third run in a row hours after Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-makes-reelection-bid-official-at-age-80" target="_blank" rel="noopener">formally announced</a> his re-election campaign.
“Running for president was a wonderful privilege,” Sanders said. “I enjoyed it very much and I hope we had some impact on the nature of American politics. But right now, my job is to do what I can as chairman of the (Health, Education, Labor and Pensions) committee, to see Biden get reelected and to see what I can do to help transform policy in America to help protect the needs of workers.”
So far, Biden faces declared candidates in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/robert-f-kennedy-jr" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Robert F. Kennedy Jr.</a> and self-help author <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/marianne-williamson-launches-another-bid-for-president-as-a-democrat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marianne Williamson,</a> both of whom have been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-challengers-rage-over-lack-of-2024-dem-debates" target="_blank" rel="noopener">calling foul</a> over the absence of planned debates and the Democratic National Committee choosing to fiddle with the nominating state schedule.
Sanders expressed the view that the challengers won&#8217;t be able to overcome the incumbent.
&#8220;I think Joe Biden will be the Democratic nominee,&#8221; Sanders said. &#8220;And my job, and I think the progressive movement’s job, is to make certain that he stands up and fights for the working class of this country and does not take anything for granted.&#8221;

Already the oldest person to be president at 80, Biden would be 86 at the end of a second term. Sanders is a bit older, at 81. He <a href="https://apnews.com/article/politics-ap-top-news-us-news-las-vegas-nevada-fcec4d5e82844672b3e330535506135f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suffered a heart attack</a> the last time he ran for president.
A mere 26% of Americans and 47% of Democrats want Biden to run again, according to a recent Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll. The <a href="https://apnews.com/article/joe-biden-poll-2024-white-house-economy-873663f6e3cbca8f2dae2f018c8be9d3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">same poll</a> found 78% of Democrats say they approve of Biden&#8217;s job performance, and 81% said they would at least probably support Biden if he becomes the nominee in the general election.

California boasts a <a href="https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/primary-elections-california" target="_blank" rel="noopener">primary system</a> that will feature one ballot for the U.S. Senate race. The top two vote-getters, regardless of party, will move on to the general election.
Khanna, whose district lies in Silicon Valley, gives Lee a key ally in the contest that features two other high-profile Democratic members of the House as competitors: Reps. Adam Schiff and Katie Porter.
Schiff already scored a significant House endorsement from former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), even before Feinstein <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dianne-feinstein-not-running-for-re-election-in-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced last month</a> she would not seek re-election.
Khanna said he has &#8220;respect&#8221; for Schiff and Porter, who are both <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/meetthepressblog/calif-senate-race-pits-two-top-fundraisers-rcna67696" target="_blank" rel="noopener">top fundraisers</a> among Democrats, but he praised Lee for offering a &#8220;unique voice&#8221; to the Senate.
&#8220;She was the lone vote against the endless war in Afghanistan,&#8221; Khanna said. &#8220;She stood up so strongly against the war in Iraq. She worked with me in stopping — trying to stop the war in Yemen and the war powers resolution.&#8221;
He noted that &#8220;representation&#8221; is a key factor in his decision.
&#8220;We don&#8217;t have a single African-American woman in the United States Senate. She would fill that role,&#8221; Khanna said of Lee. &#8220;She will be the only candidate from Northern California, and she&#8217;s going to, I think, consolidate a lot of progressives. The other two are formidable candidates, but I think Barbara Lee is going to be very, very strong.&#8221;
Lee <a href="https://twitter.com/BarbaraLeeForCA/status/1639992869141516288" target="_blank" rel="noopener">expressed her gratitude</a> to Khanna in a tweet on Sunday. She also flashed some of her leftist bonafides, sharing her support for a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-medicare-for-all-supporters-shocked-by-facts-about-medicare-for-all" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;Medicare for All&#8221;</a> healthcare system, among other priorities.
&#8220;I will fight every day to push our shared progressive agenda of Medicare4All, ending student debt, and abolishing the filibuster,&#8221; Lee said.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) endorsed Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/adam-schiff" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Adam Schiff</a> (D-CA) for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/senate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senate</a> if Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dianne-feinstein" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dianne Feinstein</a> (D-CA) chooses not to seek re-election in 2024.
The longtime Democratic leader chose Schiff over Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA), <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/embattled-democrat-announces-bid-for-senate-seat-dianne-feinstein-hasnt-vacated" target="_blank" rel="noopener">who announced a Senate campaign last month</a>, and Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), who is widely expected to join the race.
If Feinstein decides not to run, &#8220;I will be supporting House Intelligence Committee chair Adam Schiff, who knows well the nexus between a strong democracy and a strong economy,&#8221; <a href="https://mobile.twitter.com/mmcauliff/status/1621134549416611840" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pelosi said in a statement Thursday</a>. &#8220;In his service in the House, he has focused on strengthening our democracy with justice and on building an economy that works for all.&#8221;
Local media <a href="https://www.sfchronicle.com/politics/article/pelosi-adam-schiff-senate-17758147.php">described</a> the development as &#8220;the strongest sign yet that Feinstein will not seek re-election.&#8221;

He said after Pelosi made clear her stance, 20 current and former members of the California delegation also endorsed his campaign for Senate.
Schiff, whose district includes parts of Los Angeles County, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/adam-schiff-will-run-for-dianne-feinsteins-senate-seat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced his campaign</a> for Senate two days after Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mccarthy-formally-kicks-schiff-and-swalwell-from-house-intel-integrity-matters-more" target="_blank" rel="noopener">removed him from the House Intelligence Committee</a> over accusations of repeated lying. Schiff called the move &#8220;petty, political payback&#8221; for his participation in investigations into former President Donald Trump.
Pelosi said the United States is at a &#8220;crossroads&#8221; leading up to the 2024 election, casting the Democrats as the defenders of democracy and freedom while characterizing Republicans as being beholden to special interests.
“Ever since I supported Adam in his race for Congress in 2000, I have known his commitment to putting the American Dream in place for everyone,” Pelosi said in her statement first <a href="https://www.sfchronicle.com/politics/article/pelosi-adam-schiff-senate-17758147.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">given to the San Francisco Chronicle</a>. “Coming from a family of immigrants, Adam has dedicated his life to public service. Every time I have asked Adam to take on the tough fight against extremist forces, he has responded with integrity, strength and success.”
Feinstein has not yet shared whether she will seek another term. <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-01-30/feinstein-keeps-everyone-guessing-by-waiting-on-2024-senate-decision" target="_blank" rel="noopener">She told Bloomberg News</a> late last month she would share her plans &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/feinstein-contradicts-herself-on-timing-of-2024-announcement" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in the spring sometime.</a>&#8221;
At the age of 89, Feinstein is the Senate&#8217;s oldest member, and in recent years her colleagues have raised <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicholasreimann/2022/04/14/lawmakers-say-dianne-feinsteins-mental-fitness-rapidly-worsening-report-claims/?sh=3d561a830b80" target="_blank" rel="noopener">concerns about her mental fitness</a>. She raised less than $600 in the last three months and has under $10,000 in her campaign account, <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/3839838-feinstein-raises-600-with-less-than-10k-in-funds-amid-senate-2024-speculation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hill reported Wednesday</a>.
In her statement, Pelosi praised Feinstein as an &#8220;iconic&#8221; senator with a &#8220;remarkable legislative record.&#8221; Feinstein &#8220;has my whole-hearted support&#8221; if she does decide to run for re-election, Pelosi added.

On Wednesday, in the aftermath of an election in which Republicans underperformed, winning the House but wondering if they could still eke out a victory in the Senate, former President Trump boasted on Truth Social, “While in certain ways yesterday’s election was somewhat disappointing, from my personal standpoint it was a very big victory — 219 WINS and 16 Losses in the General  — Who has ever done better than that?”
What Trump did not elucidate was that the bulk of the winners in the races he endorsed came from safely Republican districts, with 16 of the candidates actually having run uncontested. Election results also show that 13 Trump-endorsed candidates lost in highly competitive or closely watched races. Of the 219 wins referenced by Trump, only around a dozen of those races were extremely competitive. 
On Election Day, Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-on-his-candidates-i-should-get-all-the-credit-if-they-win-not-be-blamed-at-all-if-they-lose">told Markie Martin</a> on NewsNation that if the candidates he endorsed won, he “should get all the credit,” adding, “And if they lose, I should not be blamed at all, okay?”
“But it’ll probably be just the opposite,” he continued. “When they win, I think they’re going to do very well, I’ll probably be given very little credit even though in many cases I told people to run and they ran and they turned out to be very good candidates. You know, they’ve turned out to be very good candidates.”
Last April, Trump <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2022/04/09/trump-leans-toward-dr-oz-in-pennsylvania-senate-race-00024272">endorsed</a> Dr. Mehmet Oz over David McCormick, the former Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs, saying, &#8220;I have known Dr. Oz for many years, as have many others, even if only through his very successful television show. He has lived with us through the screen and has always been popular, respected, and smart.” Trump <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2022/04/09/trump-leans-toward-dr-oz-in-pennsylvania-senate-race-00024272">reportedly said</a> of Oz, “He’s been on TV in people’s bedrooms and living rooms for years.”
At the time of Trump’s endorsement, McCormick had a <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2022/senate/pa/pennsylvania_senate_republican_primary-7485.html">six-point lead</a> in the polls; within days Oz caught up to McCormick. Oz wound up losing to Democrat John Fetterman in the general election.
Trump was instrumental in Herschel Walker’s entry as a senatorial candidate to oppose incumbent Georgia Democrat Senator Raphael Warnock; USA Today <a href="https://www.savannahnow.com/story/news/politics/2021/03/22/donald-trump-backs-rival-raffensperger-georgia-election-official/4796110001/">noted</a> in March 2021, “Trump is pushing a Georgia celebrity, former football star Herschel Walker, to run against Warnock.”
Despite having the coattails of Georgia GOP Governor Brian Kemp’s smashing victory on Tuesday, Walker finished behind Warnock and must face him in a run-off election.
Trump <a href="https://www.npr.org/sections/2022-live-primary-election-race-results/2022/08/03/1115185686/blake-masters-trump-pick-funded-by-billionaire-thiel-wins-arizona-senate-primary">backed</a> GOP senatorial candidate Blake Masters in June before the GOP primary, in which Masters faced state Attorney General Mark Brnovich, businessman Jim Lamon, and retired National Guard major general Michael McGuire.
Trump backed GOP senatorial J.D. Vance in Ohio, who wound up winning but underperforming, winning only by a margin of 6.6% while GOP Governor Mike DeWine <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/11/08/us/elections/results-ohio.html">won his race</a> by a staggering 25 points.
