<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elliot-page-formerly-ellen-announces-superhero-character-will-come-out-trans-in-upcoming-season-of-netflix-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elliot Page</a> — the actor formerly known as Ellen Page who know identifies as a man — claimed recently to have been threatened by a &#8220;transphobe&#8221; in Los Angeles, but the claim has been met with skepticism online, where Page has been compared to disgraced actor Jussie Smollett.
In a memoir released Tuesday, titled &#8220;<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Pageboy-Memoir-Elliot-Page/dp/1250878357?tag=nypost-20&amp;asc_refurl=https://nypost.com/2023/06/06/elliot-page-reveals-chilling-transphobic-attack-outside-la-hotel/&amp;asc_source=web" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pageboy</a>,&#8221; the 36-year-old actor alleged that in 2022, when the star was in L.A. (on Sunset and La Cienaga), a man allegedly &#8220;threatened to assault&#8221; the &#8220;Umbrella Academy&#8221; actor, according to the <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/story/2023-06-04/for-real-elliot-page-survival-pageboy-umbrella-academy?fbclid=PAAabljJY_1EyODzdtcVyY1yInSjCyaUnCOw6H9VnaHpXRn_3tEZ_fBtSa5w4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Los Angeles Times</a>.

Page then ran to a nearby convenience store, where employees ushered the actor inside. &#8220;From the other side of the door, the man allegedly yelled: &#8216;This is why I need a gun!'&#8221; the columnist added, quoting Page.
&#8220;Now when I&#8217;m in Los Angeles, I don&#8217;t feel comfortable like I used to going for walks,&#8221; Page told the Times.

If someone from 2008 awakened from a coma and immediately decided to look up their favorite actress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ellen-page">Ellen Page</a>, that person would be left disappointed because she doesn’t exist anymore in places like IMDb and Wikipedia.
The person formerly known as Ellen Page now goes by Elliot Page and is one of Hollywood&#8217;s most prominent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/transgender">transgender</a> men. Page has only been Elliot since December 1, 2020, but somehow in that short time, has managed to transform the past to suit a new identity.
Daily Wire podcaster Michael Knowles wrote a lengthy <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/knowles-are-the-oscars-guilty-of-deadnaming-a-2008-best-actress-nominee">op-ed</a> exploring the contradictions and confusion surrounding the change. He pointed out how the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences still has the name “Ellen Page” listed under <a href="https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/2008">nominees</a> for Best Actress in a Leading Role for 2008, which should lead to the Oscars being canceled and deplatformed like <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jordan-peterson-id-rather-die-than-delete-truthful-tweet-for-cancel-creeps">Jordan Peterson</a>. 
There’s a chance they weren’t because the Academy bowed to Page’s wishes on another page. When searching for “Ellen Page” on <a href="https://oscars.org/">Oscars.org</a>, users encounter “Elliot Page” instead with a short explainer.
“NOTE: Nomination originally submitted under Elliot Page’s prior name. At the request of the nominee, following his December 1, 2020 announcement that he is transgender, his name has been changed accordingly with support of the Academy’s Awards and Events Committee,” it <a href="https://awardsdatabase.oscars.org/search/getresults?query=%7B%22Nominee%22%3A%22Page%22%2C%22Sort%22%3A%221-Nominee-Alpha%22%2C%22AwardShowNumberFrom%22%3A0%2C%22AwardShowNumberTo%22%3A0%2C%22Search%22%3A30%7D">says</a>. 
That’s less confusing than <a href="https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0680983/">IMDb</a>, which appears to have erased Page’s former name entirely. The short bio on the Hollywood star doesn’t contain the name “Ellen” at all, even for roles that Page performed under the former name. Page’s acting past has been erased and rewritten, which Knowles compares to the classic dystopian novel “1984.”
Page’s <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliot_Page">Wikipedia</a> offers a terse “formerly Ellen Page” by way of description, but uses he/him pronouns and Elliot throughout the rest of the text. 
The practice of “deadnaming” refers to using a person’s previous name, especially for transgender individuals. Knowles points out that Page went by “Ellen” for 33 out of 35 years of life and can’t just erase that history and start over, plus shouldn’t expect the rest of the world to do so. 
Knowles points out the absurdity of the charade, especially if Page decided tomorrow to switch back to using female pronouns and going by Ellen again. After many instances of transgender people detransitioning, which The Daily Wire has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/detransitioners-flood-social-media-with-testimony-photos-the-darkest-time-in-my-life">reported on</a> before, this possibility is not too far-fetched.

Last week, Twitter<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jordan-peterson-id-rather-die-than-delete-truthful-tweet-for-cancel-creeps"> suspended</a> Jordan Peterson for calling a woman by her name. Jordan’s observation that “Ellen Page just had her breasts removed” had apparently violated Twitter’s rules against “misgendering” and “deadnaming,” two neologisms that mean the opposite of what they seem. The verb “to misgender” first appeared in 1989. It ostensibly refers to inaccurately identifying someone’s sex, but ironically it has come to mean accurately identifying the sex of people who wish it were not so. In reality, Jordan did not “misgender” Ellen Page; he simply “gendered” her. The only people “misgendering” the actress are the ones who pretend that she is a man.
The term “deadname,” which first appeared sometime in the early 2010s, follows a similar illogic. It describes a person’s name from birth until the moment in which he declared himself to be a member of the opposite sex or no sex at all and assumed a new name. Today Ellen goes by “Elliot” and has even legally changed her name. But “Ellen” isn’t Miss Page’s “deadname.” Even if one were to accept the dubious premise that men have a right to call themselves “Sally” and ladies a right to call themselves “Hank,” Ellen isn’t dead. She is very much alive and has called herself “Ellen” for 33 of her 35 years. “Ellen Page” starred in Jason Reitman’s hit film Juno, for which “Ellen Page” received an Oscar<a href="https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/2008"> nomination</a> for Best Actress. Must Reitman recut his movie credits now that Ellen fancies herself “Elliot”? Must the Academy rescind Ellen’s nomination for Best Actress and retroactively nominate her for Best Actor? The Academy continues to list &#8220;Ellen Page&#8221; among its past nominees. Does Hollywood&#8217;s most prestigious body condone &#8220;deadnaming&#8221;?

The prevailing transgender consensus contends that Ellen has always in some way been Elliot. According to Wikipedia, for instance, “Page was born on February 21, 1987… He was assigned female at birth and used his birth name of Ellen prior to transitioning.” In other words, “he” was always a man, albeit a man whom everyone, apparently including herself, believed to be a woman. But Ellen’s supposedly eternal maleness raises new problems of sexual identity. Prior to her “transition,” Ellen entered into a “same-sex marriage” with a woman named Emma Portner. At the time, both ladies considered themselves to be lesbians. Miss Portner still does. But to affirm Page’s “gender identity” is to deny Portner’s “sexual orientation,” and vice versa. If during their relationship Ellen was a man, then Emma was not a lesbian; if Emma was a lesbian, then Ellen was not a man. One cannot simultaneously indulge the sexual ideologies of both women.
And what if someday Ellen once again acknowledges that she is in fact a woman? A growing number of people have<a href="https://www.thepublicdiscourse.com/2015/04/14688/"> regretted</a> their “transitions” and<a href="https://lacroicsz.substack.com/p/by-any-other-name?utm_source=url&amp;s=r"> returned</a> to their proper names and pronouns. Will her Wikipedia page strike virtually all references to “Elliot” and “his” accomplishments, just as it did for “Ellen”? What if Ellen changes her mind again? Does her sexual identity have any basis in objective reality, or does it hinge entirely on her own will? The answers to these questions carry implications beyond abstract theorizing. If a person’s sex has its basis in biological reality, then we can perceive that reality with our intellect and avoid falling afoul of the censors’ rules against “misgendering” in the public square. If a person’s will determines his sex, then one can never know for certain what to call anyone, and the censors might cast any of us at any moment into the social media gulag with Jordan Peterson.
The social media companies themselves are liable to fall afoul of this capricious view of sex, as ironically Twitter did when it de-platformed Jordan. After the censors suspended Jordan for mentioning “Ellen Page,” the forbidden name began to trend, which BuzzFeed<a href="https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/juliareinstein/twitter-elliot-page-deadname-trending"> noted</a> meant that Twitter had immediately violated the very same rule for which it had punished Peterson. Twitter soon apologized and replaced “Ellen” with “Elliot” among the trending terms.
This revision did not represent a bug in the system but rather an essential feature of the transgender ideology. As one transgender scholar<a href="https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/08989575.2019.1542845"> explains</a>, “The matter of ‘the past’ is a complicated one for transsexual and transgender people.” That is because the transgender identity requires the constant rewriting of the past according to one’s present self-definition. “It is only understandable,” the scholar insists, “if a trans person responds by insisting on the primacy of the present, by seeking to erase the past, or even by emotionally locating their ‘real self’ in the future, that elusive place where access (to transition, health care, housing, a livable wage, and so on) and social viability tend to appear more abundant.” If Ellen calls herself Elliot today, then Ellen must always have been Elliot no matter how many film credits mention Ellen. Orwell described the same process in Nineteen-Eighty-Four: “The past was alterable. The past never had been altered. Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.”
This hostility toward the past helps to explain why leftists of sturdier sexuality have rallied around the movement. Statue-topplers want to erase their forebears as completely as gender identity activists hope to erase their past selves, and transgenderism offers to the activists the additional political benefit of justifying their program on the grounds of pure will without reference to reason or reality. Either Ellen Page is Ellen, or none of us can say who she is or ever was — just as our opponents who control the public square want it.

KNOWLES: Are The Oscars Guilty Of Deadnaming A 2008 Best Actress Nominee?

A few days ago, I penned an irritated tweet in response to one of the latest happenings on the increasingly heated culture war front in response to the decision of an actress (actor) named <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/elliot-page">Ellen (Elliot) Page</a>. I am employing this awkward and impossible multiple-naming style because it is now apparently mandatory — and probably doing it wrong, nonetheless, as “you’re doing it wrong” is the whole point of what has been made mandatory — but also to make a point.
I have essentially been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/twitter-suspends-jordan-peterson-after-he-tweets-ellen-page-just-had-her-breasts-removed">banned from Twitter</a> as a consequence. I say banned, although technically <a href="https://twitter.com/MikhailaFuller/status/1541946666567323649?s=20&amp;t=nlfFmbtxQz9oDC-VIzbWqw">I have been suspended</a>. But the suspension will not be lifted unless I delete the “hateful” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/social-media">tweet</a> in question, and I would rather die than do that. And hopefully it will not come to that, although who the hell knows in these increasingly strange days?

What was it that I said that caused such a fuss? And, even more importantly, and complexly, what exactly was it that I said that resulted in the ban? Here is the tweet in question:
“Remember when Pride was a sin? And <a href="https://twitter.com/nypost/status/1539705413754552320?s=20&amp;t=zXVI1NllRQ-AgBmd56cWcQ">Ellen Page just had her breasts removed</a> by a criminal physician.”
The response from Twitter:

Let’s take this apart. First, it is clearly the case that I did not “promote violence against” or “threaten” anyone with my missive. So that leaves the arguably lesser sin of “harass.” Let’s assume that was the crime, and, further, harassment on the basis of “gender identity.” Since Twitter did not do me the favor of actually specifying my crime, we unfortunately have to guess at why this has occurred — and that’s actually a big problem in and of itself, and also indicative of the utter carelessness of the Twitter organization with regard to the propriety of its own censorial actions. I should at least know exactly what I did wrong if I am required to “acknowledge that” my “Tweet violated the Twitter Rules.”

What rules, you sons of bitches? Exactly? Precisely? Because such things matter when the accusations start flying.
So what did I say that might constitute harassment? Many things, hypothetically. Let’s begin with “Remember when pride was a sin?” Although that is merely a factual statement because under the old rules, applicable even a decade ago, pride was a sin, and had been recognized as perhaps the cardinal sin for thousands of years previously. It still might be regarded as unacceptable to the authoritarian moralists who now insist, for example, that we celebrate Pride Month (not hour or day or week, but month) and who have literally called it PRIDE MONTH instead of LGBT+ Month. I don’t regard PRIDE as a virtue; it has been classically regarded as a sin.
I don’t see sexual orientation or sexual desire of any sort as something to celebrate or to take PRIDE in, and what I said was merely a fact. It’s possible that I hurt someone’s feelings because I pointed out that PRIDE goes before, for example, a fall, but I don’t care about that, would do it again, and also consider it my duty to warn those who are about to fall into a pit that the path they are on leads suddenly down hill. But that was probably NOT the reason that I was banned from Twitter — although, as I said, I am in the position of having to guess.
Next phrase to interrogate: “And Ellen Page…” Now, why did I stop there? Because, in all likelihood, it was this seemingly innocuous phrase, including the name of a well-known actress (there, I’m in trouble again), that likely resulted in my ban. I committed the fatal crime of what has come to be known in the appalling censorial terminology of the insane activists as “dead-naming.” That’s the act of referring to someone who has “transitioned” (another hated piece of jargon and slogan) by the name, and by inference the gender (really “sex”) that everyone knew them by previously — and in the case of Ellen/Elliot, that millions of people recognized and knew. So I should have called him/her/they Elliot instead of Ellen, although, as we will discover, that would have made it impossible for me to say what I wanted to and need to say in the remaining phrases. Not that such a problem would bother those who are objecting to my speech in the first place.
The next phrase is “just had her breasts removed.” This bit suffers from a very similar problem. I employed the forbidden pronoun “her” when Elliot is now to be regarded as a “he,” or else. But there’s a conundrum here, to say the least — and not just for me, although I have been banned because of it. Was Elliot/Ellen a she or a he (or Ellen or Elliot) when she or he or they (that’s Elliot or Ellen, by the way) had his or her or their breasts removed? If he or she was a he, then why was it necessary to have the mastectomy? And how could those I am writing to make sense of what I was saying if it was “his” breasts that were removed? Were those male breasts or female breasts that were removed? If they were male breasts, then why were they removed? If they were female breasts (and had therefore become objectionable to the degree that surgery generally reserved for cancer treatment was morally obligatory) then wasn’t Elliot still Ellen and he still she?
How could I possibly have written that sentence in any sensible manner whatsoever while simultaneously making my point understandably — and not breaking Twitter’s rules against so-called hateful conduct? And Elliot Page just had his breasts removed?
Was he Elliot then? When, exactly? He was definitely Ellen at some point in the past, or so indicate all his/her/them/their film credits? Will all those have to be reshot, since they employ the hated “deadname” (that doesn’t exist, by the way, that “deadname” category, except in the censorial and addled minds of a tiny fraction of insanely narcissistic and increasingly dangerous trans activists). When precisely was it incumbent on me to switch my terminology in regard to Elliot/Ellen so that I was not engaging in hateful conduct? And how can I describe the fact that someone who was once a woman (and really still is) had her breasts cut off because she/he/her/them had fallen prey to a viciously harmful fad without using the appropriate sex-linked pronoun and the real name of the real person to whom this was really done (with her/his/their voluntary but unfortunate acquiescence)?
And so it was impossible to communicate what had happened to my audience without, apparently, running afoul of the impossible and absurd rules that now hypothetically govern morality itself in the days of the degenerated postmodern and Marxist ethos that we must still, no matter how impossible it is, abide by — or else.
And, you might object: Ellen/Elliot is an adult (thirty-something) and fully capable of making up her/his/their own mind about such things and she/he/they are welcome from the liberal and the libertarian position to go to hell in a handbasket as she/he/they see fit. And, fair enough — to some degree. But I don’t believe it is either merely picayune or inappropriate to point out that Ellen/Elliot, who is quite a good actor/actress, is also a ritual model for emulation, being a star, with all the privileges and, let us point out, the responsibilities that go along with that.
So, by acquiescing to this surgery, publicizing it and insisting upon the sanctity and moral virtue of his/her/their new expensive, dangerous, and medically-enhanced identity (and by participating in the whole identity charade), Ellen/Elliot has undoubtedly enticed many a poor, confused adolescent girl to blame her emergent pubescent self-consciousness, confusion, and discomfort on “being born in the wrong body” — and believing that the courageous, self- affirming, and morally admirable route is hormonal treatment, sterilization, subjugation to a lifetime of expensive medical complication (how delightfully profitable) and misery. And I believe, firmly, that Ellen/Elliot bears moral culpability for that.
And, finally, with regard to the final phrase “criminal physician,” I must say that I have had some post-coital (so to speak) regrets about that phrase. It is clearly the case that the surgical operation performed by the butchers who butchered Elliot/Ellen was legal. So, was it criminal or not? Were the operations undertaken by the fascist physicians who carried out the Nazi medical experiments legal? Yes, under the laws of the time. But were they criminal? I’ll leave that question up to you to answer.
And, further, perhaps it might be objected, “What about the damage done by hypothetically leaving those confused about their identity to dwell in their confusion? Aren’t we morally obliged to intervene?” And I would say, NO. Why? Well, first “do no harm” as the Hippocratic Oath (remember that?) insists. And, second, it has been a matter of historical consensus that sins of omission are less egregious than sins of commission. Thus, leaving someone with gender dysphoria — no matter how warranted (and perhaps it is, in a very tiny minority of truly unfortunate cases) — to suffer the consequences of the theoretical mismatch between soul and body is a less of a risk, ethically, personally, socially, and philosophically than the extremely active interventions that constitute so-called gender-confirming (another hated phrase) surgery.
I might also point out that the trans surgery enterprise is now a $300 million per annum growth industry (rate of expansion: 15% per year; projected increase by 2027 to $750 million per year). An expanding enterprise in a time of global uncertainty! Time to invest — both in the requisite surgical skills and, perhaps, in any industry associated with this vicious and unconscionable fad, primarily entangling (as such things so often do) the youthful and female. Isn’t that a concern, intersectionalists? Not when push comes to shove, or ideology to scalpel. Is that not a true moral hazard?
And I’m not taking down that tweet, or “acknowledging” that my tweet “violated the Twitter rules.” Up yours, woke moralists. We’ll see who cancels who. And I think, as well, that you woke folks at Twitter, working so hard to improve the world by so carelessly censoring (under the morally superior guise of “regulating hate”) have no idea what a tangled web you&#8217;ve entangled yourself in. Again. Yet again.

Twitter suspended famed psychologist Jordan Peterson’s account after he tweeted about a transgender surgery performed on Elliot Page, nee Ellen Page, former Oscar-nominated actress.
Peterson’s daughter Mikhaila tweeted at Elon Musk, “Wow. @jordanbpeterson got a twitter strike. No more twitter until he deletes the tweet. Definitely not a free speech platform at the moment. @elonmusk.”
In the tweet prompting Twitter’s suspension, Peterson wrote, “Remember when pride was a sin? And Ellen Page just had her breasts removed by a criminal physician.”
Twitter wrote that Peterson had violated its rules for “hateful conduct,” apparently because used Page’s given name; Page now goes by Elliott. He also referred to Page as “her,” thus implying Page is a woman.

In January 2019, the now-disgraced actor Jussie Smollett claimed he was targeted and attacked by apparent supporters of President Donald Trump in an anti-gay, anti-black hate crime. 
On Monday, a jury found the former “Empire” actor guilty of having orchestrated a fake hate crime hoax. Soon after, comments made by actor Elliot Page from February 2019 on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert resurfaced, in which Page blamed the “attack” on then-Vice President Mike Pence.
“We have a media that’s saying it’s a debate whether or not what just happened to Jussie Smollett is a hate crime,” Page — who was then known as Ellen Page — said at the time. “It’s absurd&#8230;.It isn’t a debate.”
Colbert interjected, “I agree.”
Page continued, “Sorry, I’m like, I’m really fired up tonight.”
Colbert encouraged, “You have to be fired up.”
Page then continued:

Shortly after, when information arose which seemed to suggest the attack was a hoax, Page doubled down.
“The conversation around Jussie Smollett has led us all to examine hate violence and its implications and aftermath. I had no reason to doubt Jussie,” said Page in a guest column at <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/ellen-page-jussie-smollett-fallout-guest-column-1191006?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_source=t.co&amp;utm_medium=referral">The Hollywood Reporter</a>. “If this situation was staged, it could make victims even more reluctant to report these crimes. Very real crimes,” Page added.
“While the media and public debate the case and await more information, we must not lose sight of the very real, endemic violence that LGBTQ+ people, people of color and other underrepresented communities face every day,” Page continued. “I ask you not to question our pain, not to draw into question our trauma, but to maintain, wholeheartedly, that hate violence exists. The merits of one case should not and cannot call that into question. The media coverage does not convey the reality and totality of the cruelty and danger we face. This is the story that must be told.”

During her coming out post on Instagram in December, Page denounced “the political leaders” who “want to criminalize trans health care and deny our right to exist.”

“The backlash right now is so intense. But the rhetoric coming from anti-trans activists and anti-LGBTQ activists—it’s devastating. These bills are going to be responsible for the death of children. It is that simple,” Page said.
“It just felt like, Okay, the GOP basically wants to destroy the lives of trans kids and stop the Equality Act. How do you not use this platform?” added Page.

&#8220;You&#8217;re looking awesome dude,&#8221; responded another fan. 
&#8220;Why is he so f***ing hot,&#8221; responded another.
As The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/juno-star-ellen-page-im-a-transgender-man-named-elliot">previously reported</a>, Page came out as transgender and non-binary earlier this month, roughly six years after coming out as a lesbian.
“Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot,” Page said in a statement posted to Twitter. “I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life. I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self.”
Page openly worried about the dangers of coming out as trans.
“The statistics are staggering. The discrimination towards trans people is rife, insidious and cruel, resulting in horrific consequences. In 2020 alone it has been reported that at least 40 transgender people have been murdered, the majority of which were Black and Latinx trans women,&#8221; Page asserted.
Page then called out the “the political leaders” who “want to criminalize trans health care and deny our right to exist.&#8221;
“[Y]ou have blood on your hands. You unleash a fury of vile and demeaning rage that lands on the shoulders of the trans community, a community in which 40% of trans adults report attempting suicide. Enough is enough. You aren’t being ‘cancelled,’ you are hiring people. I am one of those people and we won’t be silent in the face of your attacks,” Page wrote.
Page has been an LGBT activist for several years now and has specifically targetted religious conservatives as hateful bigots. In 2019, for instance, Page appeared on the “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” to claim that Vice President Mike Pence was responsible for hate crimes committed against gay and trans people, citing the Jussie Smollett hoax as evidence.
“[Pence] has hurt LGBTQ people so badly as the governor of Indiana,” Page said, “and I think the thing we need to know and I hope my show ‘Gaycation’ did this in terms of connecting the dots in terms of what happened the other day to Jussie. I don’t know him personally, I send all of my love.”
“Connect the dots. This is what happens. If you are in a position of power and you hate people and you want to cause suffering to them, you go through the trouble, you spend your career trying to cause suffering, what do you think is going to happen?&#8221; she added.

Elliot Page (Formerly Ellen) Thanks Fans After Coming Out As Transgender

On Dec. 1, actress Ellen Page <a href="https://twitter.com/TheElliotPage/status/1333820783655837701?s=20">released</a> a page-long document on Twitter detailing her intention to identify as transgender — and be referred to as “Elliot.”
“I love that I am trans,” she writes, “And love that I am queer. And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive. To trans people who deal with harassment, self-loathing, abuse and the threat of violence every day: I see you and I will do anything I can to change this world for the better.”
The announcement once again highlights the unmistakable contradiction inherent within the Left&#8217;s gender logic. To the Social Justice Warriors (SJW’s), there is an <a href="https://www.vox.com/the-highlight/2019/5/20/18542843/intersectionality-conservatism-law-race-gender-discrimination">intersectionality hierarchy</a> that ought to dictate our understanding of the roles people can play in society. This hierarchy places people into generalized subgroups, aimed at qualifying our capacities to advance through the “systemically” impermeable, racist society. 
If you are a white man, you supposedly reign supreme with endless privilege; if you are a Hispanic female, you are oppressed to some degree; if you are a black man, you&#8217;re even more oppressed (unless you <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/media/524419-joy-reid-ripped-for-uncle-clarence-reference-to-justice-thomas-disgusting">identify</a> as Conservative.) If you are a black gender-fluid Pansexual who identifies as ‘they,’ you have now climbed the hierarchy to assume the position as the most oppressed person of all time. You win the game. Congrats. Prepare to be showered with praise.
It’s sort of like a communist version of monopoly.
According to the Left, this hierarchy is noted to be the cause of nearly all iniquities in society. Those at the top “steal” from the vulnerable minority bottom — and those at the bottom will never be able to advance, since the American Dream is <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-american-dream-is-dead-and-good-riddance">allegedly dead</a>. Thus, affirmative action becomes the beacon of hope; judging people based on race and biological factors, not merit or on a case-by-case basis.
But what happens when a wealthy white female — Ellen Page in this instance— now identifies as a white man, Elliot. Does Page retain her position on the intersectionality hierarchy as a white female who is slightly oppressed because of her gender? Or, since Elliot is now a “man,” does “he” jump up the hierarchy chain — thus becoming the most privileged? Or — thirdly — does “his” position as a transgendered person now inevitably place “him” near the bottom of the hierarchy, among the most oppressed?
The identity politics rules are changing every day with the left, and one can be forgiven for not being able to solve this ever-contradicting puzzle. The pieces are flawed to begin with.
This leads us to one primary conclusion. If the left aims to characterize all people as victims of biological factors — how can an individual in this hierarchy magically move up or down on the imposed food chain? It would be improbable, if in fact such a chain of command did ultimately dictate one’s socioeconomic standing. If gender is legitimately malleable and the human race can determine their sex — not barring the genitalia one is born with — then the intersectionality hierarchy chain cannot exist. 
The left must choose one side or the other. 
It is the “gender theorists” across this nation — such as the left’s coveted saint <a href="https://vcresearch.berkeley.edu/faculty/judith-butler">Judith Butler</a> — who have redefined the rules of our world through unrealistic and anti-scientific ideology. Butler’s notion of gender as performative and not inherent forms the basis for all Gender Studies departments at universities across the world. In her famous “<a href="https://pcnw.org/files/Butler-ImitationandGenderInsubordination.pdf">Imitation and Gender Insubordination</a>,” she argues: 
<blockquote>“. . . gender is a kind of imitation for which there is no original; in fact, it is a kind of imitation that produces the very notion of the original as an effect and consequence of the imitation itself.”</blockquote>
If gender is truly an “imitation,” then the intersectionality hierarchy is null. This assumes that gender is nothing but a farce — a relativistic product of the imagination — and we can henceforth choose how to move up or down the hierarchy. This also assumes there is no God, no objective reality or morality, since there is no “original” basis for us to model our behavior. Hypothetically, with zero basis for what separates us at birth, we are all rendered the same. 
The hierarchy, then, is nothing but a construct as well in conjunction with accepting people can arbitrarily play God. 
This thought experiment is just one way of pointing to the contradictions with leftist ideology concerning gender and sexuality. I have no issue, frankly, with Page’s declaration to be a man. I don’t care whatsoever. It’s a free country.
But what I do have an issue with is the perpetual double standards and endlessly shifting rules of a <a href="https://www.pewforum.org/religious-landscape-study/religious-family/atheist/party-affiliation/">secular</a> left.

The Unmistakable Contradiction of Ellen Page’s Gender Transition

What struck me — and I think a lot of people — about actress Ellen Page’s announcement that she was now a man named Elliot was the po-faced self-seriousness with which the media accepted the lunacy. She’s a man, but she’s queer, but she’s with a woman, because she’s a lesbian, only she’s a man lesbian. Right-ho! Let’s get to work changing the credits on her old films because this is leftism, after all, and history itself has to be erased and rewritten to reflect the current nonsense.
Listen, when it comes to other people’s sex lives, I agree with Ebenezer Scrooge: &#8220;It&#8217;s enough for a man to understand his own business, and not to interfere with other people&#8217;s. Mine occupies me constantly.” But this anti-gender stuff is truly bah, humbug.
For the vast majority of us, the differences between the two genders are a source of pleasure, fascination, and consolation. The Left and their awful entertainment and news media have done everything they can to reduce these differences and these pleasures to one difference and one pleasure: the difference between our bodies and the pleasure our bodies feel during sex.
But no. The mesmeric attraction of the feminine for the masculine and vice versa is as deep and as wide as anything in nature. Speaking personally, my chief joy in a long happy marriage — above even sex, children, companionship, and meals that don’t come out of a box — has been the slow realization that, as a man, I was seeing only half the world. Loving a woman over time has been like putting on a pair of 3-D glasses, one lens blue, one pink. The world acquires dimension.
The joy of gender difference is written into every free civilization. Women don’t have to dress differently than men. We don’t have to use different bathrooms. We don’t have to allow society to reflect our different life choices. We do it because we like to. Because we are fearfully and wonderfully made and we want to live that out and celebrate it.
And yes, of course, nearly all men and women have traits usually attributed to the other sex. But that doesn’t change what they are. Men cannot be feminine, only effeminate. Women cannot be manly, only mannish. Possessing the traits of another gender doesn’t turn you into that gender, any more than possessing a cowboy hat turns a New Yorker into a Texan.
Are there features of gender that are unfair? You bet — which makes gender exactly like every other aspect of human life. There is only one thing in our experience that is equally distributed: death. Everything else — talent, beauty, intelligence, health, luck, even time — are doled out to us with arbitrary hilarity.
For most of us, though, the gender dynamic is a compelling, confusing, intoxicating, troubling, spectacular delight. It is at the very core of being alive. The Left’s attempt to vacuum this central pleasure out of existence in the name of faking equality tells us one thing: they are unhappy people at war with creation.
Somewhere between two to six percent of people are homosexual. Somewhere between two to six people are transgender (I’m joking — but the real numbers are vanishingly small). As with most things, these people have it harder than those in the norm. Being different leaves one open to exclusion and bigotry and other forms of cruelty.
I’m willing to risk my career and reputation here and come firmly down on the side of not being cruel to people. By golly, I’ll go further than that and say we ought to be as kind to one another as we can. There, I’ve said it, and I’m glad! But no, I’m not going to pretend to rewrite reality so that the sorrows of a few can vanish into the misery of everyone. I’m not going to pretend that the words man and woman should be redefined. I’m not going to call a woman he or a man she. Maybe one day you’ll be able to change everything down to your chromosomes, but as I write, women can’t become men, and men can’t become women, not even by mutilating their bodies to turn them into a flesh-costume of the opposite sex.
I know it is easy for comfortable people to say life is unfair — but life is unfair, nonetheless. You can’t make it fair in any way but by crushing the great to make them equal to the small. You cannot make the unhappy happy. You can only make all the world sad to accommodate them.
I won’t. Live your personal life out as you will, and God love you. But don’t ask me to lie about the nature of creation.
