There’s been a lot of hype leading up to the release of the new <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/elizabeth-banks">Elizabeth Banks</a> film, “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies">Cocaine Bear</a>,” and now the director is addressing one potentially sensitive scene featuring kids doing hard drugs.
The 48-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">star</a> discussed her decision to include the scene during an <a href="https://variety.com/2023/film/features/elizabeth-banks-cocaine-bear-gory-1235515340/">interview</a> with Variety, admitting it was “controversial” yet necessary for the script.
&#8220;It was definitely controversial. There were conversations about, &#8216;should we age up these characters?&#8217; We all kind of held hands and we were like, &#8216;Guys, they&#8217;ve got to be 12.&#8217; It&#8217;s their innocence being tested,&#8221; she said. &#8220;That&#8217;s what was interesting to me about that scene.&#8221;
Producer Christopher Miller agreed, saying their inclusion of 12-year-olds was intentional, 
&#8220;It&#8217;s the naïveté of the kids that makes it okay. It&#8217;s what makes it so tense and funny. It doesn&#8217;t work if they&#8217;re teenagers,” he said. “It has to be that age where you don&#8217;t know anything, but you want to pretend like you do.&#8221;
Moviegoers are hyped for the upcoming release of “Cocaine Bear.” The movie is based on the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-movie-about-a-murderous-bear-jacked-up-on-cocaine-set-to-sweep-the-academy-awards">true story</a> of a 175-pound black bear that allegedly died of an overdose after ingesting cocaine that was reportedly thrown out of a plane by a convicted drug smuggler in 1985. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the bear was found in northern Georgia surrounded by 40 open plastic containers that contained traces of cocaine.

The film will take a lot of creative liberty, depicting the bear going on a wild rampage through a nearby town while hunting for more cocaine. This original and unexpected premise has potential viewers excited to see something new. Banks told the publication she wanted to make a &#8220;muscular and masculine&#8221; movie and &#8220;break down some of the mythology around what kinds of movies women are interested in making.&#8221;
Banks said she insisted on keeping the title provocative to entice more viewers. &#8220;I lived through [the 2008 comedy] ‘Zach and Miri Make a Porno,’ and the title was a problem,&#8221; she said. &#8220;But I think ‘Zach and Miri Make a Porno’ now would be like, &#8216;Whatever.&#8217; I don&#8217;t really think anyone would even shy away from it. Because words don&#8217;t matter anymore. Words really don&#8217;t matter anymore.&#8221;
The actress also told Variety she has never personally tried cocaine because she’s a “goody two shoes.”
“Cocaine Bear” premieres in theaters on February 24.

Our society doesn’t appreciate commercials — there is a reason so many people pay extra on streaming services to eliminate them. This may explain why the movie theater I recently sat in to watch the newly released &#8220;Call Jane&#8221; was painfully empty.
As it was the first day it was shown in theaters, I had dutifully reserved a seat in advance, but my preparation proved pointless. It was a party of one.
It appears my empty theater experience wasn’t unique either, as early box office receipts show a <a href="https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt7461272/?ref_=bo_se_r_1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">worldwide opening weekend total of $258,532</a> — a failure by every Hollywood standard. “Call Jane” is supposed to illustrate a pre-Roe illegal abortion network, but American consumers have apparently identified that it’s just a 121-minute-long commercial for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/planned-parenthood-raises-20-million-in-midterms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">today&#8217;s abortion lobby</a> — and they’re not buying it.
Marketed as a movie meant to normalize abortion according to director Phyllis Nagy, “Call Jane” (rated R) is the story of a fictional housewife getting involved with an illegal abortion network. More importantly, however, it is a direct reflection of the dangerous enemy we are dealing with in modern expanding illegal abortion networks — starting with the film’s acceptance of the sexist principle that mothers can never be successful.
“Call Jane” lead actress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elizabeth-banks-says-charlies-angels-was-not-some-feminist-manifesto-tells-reporter-hell-never-understand-womens-issues" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elizabeth Banks</a>, who plays the housewife “Joy,” may have said it boldest when <a href="https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vanityfair.com%2Fhollywood%2F2022%2F10%2Fcall-jane-star-elizabeth-banks-on-abortion-access-the-pitch-perfect-cinematic-universe-and-not-being-the-ingenue-anymore&amp;data=05%7C01%7Ckhamrick%40studentsforlife.org%7C3fdc8206427746a80d0e08dabe82b460%7Cb3f92ab929b141449c57d11e0e7a368a%7C0%7C0%7C638031765831289468%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=83VeAvrE1%2BiMtp8LB3G9PIi49ZMzNdAh5jDF3Azdwgw%3D&amp;reserved=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">she told Vanity Fair</a> that “the only thing that can stand in the way of a woman…[going to college and having an ambitious career] is irresponsible ejaculation and the patriarchy.” Her sentiment was echoed throughout the film, most notably when one character said getting elective abortions was “life or death” for everyone — is it really that impossible for a woman to take responsibility and be a parent as well as have a successful career?
Beyond this, other ugly comparisons can be made. For instance, the illegal abortion network in this film used fake doctors or unschooled women to commit surgical abortions in a medical nightmare as they &#8216;trained&#8217; to do the procedure themselves by gutting pumpkins (as though surgery is as simple and risk-free as carving a Jack-O-Lantern.) Today’s new back-alley abortion method unfortunately follows suit — except this time, it’s through Chemical Abortion pills.

This leads to intensely dangerous situations for women, including one woman in the article who took Chemical Abortion pills well past when the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) deems them safe — only time will tell of her future medical complications.
“Call Jane” also illustrated the abortion lobby’s overall contempt for parents, as characters in the abortion network promised to conceal minors’ abortions from their guardian, thoughtless of the implications — sound familiar? Abortion supporters today rage against including parents, particularly protesting parental notification laws, despite the fact that these measures help protect <a href="https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fthefederalist.com%2F2022%2F10%2F28%2Fthis-anti-abortion-advocates-story-proves-that-children-conceived-in-rape-are-just-as-worthy-of-life-and-love%2F&amp;data=05%7C01%7Ckhamrick%40studentsforlife.org%7C3fdc8206427746a80d0e08dabe82b460%7Cb3f92ab929b141449c57d11e0e7a368a%7C0%7C0%7C638031765831289468%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=E4Xs9vUIgW9U6V%2FJUzbKyaN3GJ3vy9WzwoLrQJTmoTE%3D&amp;reserved=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">children who have become pregnant</a> as the result of rape or who have ended up in forced prostitution, like <a href="https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nprillinois.org%2Fequity-justice%2F2021-03-22%2Fteen-abortion-to-tell-or-not&amp;data=05%7C01%7Ckhamrick%40studentsforlife.org%7C3fdc8206427746a80d0e08dabe82b460%7Cb3f92ab929b141449c57d11e0e7a368a%7C0%7C0%7C638031765831289468%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=5Lq70zDFvk9zP8voodmTL42FV6UXFOYP4JeyTg4WPRk%3D&amp;reserved=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Brook Bello</a> did.
Another terrifying reality that abortion-seeking women face is brought up in the film when illegal abortion network boss Virginia (played by Sigourney Weaver) tells Joy about her disdain for the disreputable people who make killing pre-born children their job, saying, “The rads [the radical abortion lobby] have bigger pigs than the pigs.” Her statement is well-illustrated by the initial abortionist in the film named Dean (played by Cory Michael Smith), who was greedy and disgustingly corrupt enough to make deals that involved women taking their shirts off as compensation. Today, the abortion industry is filled with similar perversion.

If this man is the spokesperson for legal abortion, who exactly might be hiding in the shadows of illegal abortion networks?
For the few watching “Call Jane” in the theaters, surrounded by lonely seats, it is a reminder that it takes a village to both flunk a movie and win upcoming elections. If Americans are truly concerned about cracking down on the rising covert Chemical Abortion pill operations in this country — and if we care anything about women’s health, we will be — voices need to be raised together through votes at the ballot box for the protection of life.

‘Call Jane’ Is One Long Pro-Abortion Commercial Reminding Us To Vote Pro-Life

Leftist <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/elizabeth-banks">Elizabeth Banks</a> claims the 2019 action comedy “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies">Charlie’s Angels</a>” was not meant to be a “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/feminism">feminist manifesto</a>” but instead another action movie that happened to have female leads.
The 48-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/entertainment">actress</a> and director made the comments while promoting her new film, “Call Jane,” a pro-abortion story set in a future where all abortions are illegal, and women turn to an underground network to get the procedure.
During a recent <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/09/26/magazine/elizabeth-banks-interview.html">interview</a> with The New York Times, Banks said discussing “Charlie’s Angels” was “a long conversation that I don’t know that I want to get into.”
But then the “Hunger Games” actress relented, explaining her thoughts on the film’s impact.
“There was a story around Charlie’s Angels that I was creating some feminist manifesto. I was just making an action movie,” she said. “I would’ve liked to have made ‘Mission: Impossible,’ but women aren’t directing ‘Mission: Impossible.’ I was able to direct an action movie, frankly, because it starred women and I’m a female director, and that is the confine right now in Hollywood.”
Banks continued: “I wish that the movie had not been presented as just for girls, because I didn’t make it just for girls. There was a disconnect on the marketing side of it for me.”
She reiterated her stance that female directors are just as capable of making money on big projects and that they don’t need to be made with women or for women.
“It’s a male-dominated industry. It’s a male-dominated world,” the actress complained to NYT. “That’s what I’m up against, but I can’t solve it and I don’t really want to analyze it. It’s not interesting to me. It puts me, frankly, in a position where the studio head is going to read it in The New York Times and be like, ‘Wow, that Liz Banks has got a lot to say.’ I don’t need that added pressure. I truly feel that it’s dangerous to talk about these things now.”
She continued, “I’m not trying to shirk my responsibility. I just want the framing device around me to not consistently be that I’m some sort of feminist activist.”
When the male interviewer said he was also interested in female issues, Banks shot back that her interest was different because it was personal.
“I can talk to you all day about feminist issues, but you’re never going to have a deep understanding because it’s not something that happens in your life…It’s an intellectual exercise for you, and it’s an emotional exercise for me. It’s the parameters in which I live my life, do my job,” she said.

Actress and outspoken abortion activist Elizabeth Banks recently lamented that &#8220;Stand Your Ground&#8221; laws are a license to kill.
In a series of tweets on Friday, the &#8220;Charlie&#8217;s Angels&#8221; director said that &#8220;Stand Your Ground&#8221; laws essentially put neighbors at risk of dying. She cited a childhood experience in which she and her friends would sometimes play hide and seek in their neighbors&#8217; yards.
&#8220;Stand Your Ground is BS. We used to play hide and seek all over the neighborhood on summer nights. Intent was to play. We were kids but some of my cousins were big guys,&#8221; she began. &#8220;There were a few easily-jumped fences in the neighborhood but also houses with no fences at all. A new neighbor moved onto our street. Apparently he mistook us hiding behind trees in his unfenced yard at 9pm for&#8230; burglars? Predators?&#8221;
&#8220;All of a sudden, an arrow was shot into the tree behind which we hid. From a professional bow and arrow. This guy didn’t yell out &#8216;who’s there&#8217; or &#8216;get off my property or I’m calling the cops&#8217; or any other question or warning,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;He just shot at children. He hit the tree so it was seemingly a warning shot. Message received, WE yelled out that we were just playing and could he let us please run away without shooting. Then we ran.&#8221;
Banks was reacting to a recently passed bill in Ohio allowing citizens to shoot in self-defense without first attempting to retreat.
&#8220;Also sometimes our dog got loose. We would go into yards looking for her. All I can think about when people pretend Stand Your Ground is about anything other than permission to kill people are those moments when I myself stepped onto a neighbor’s property,&#8221; Banks added. &#8220;Where is the evidence that Stand Your Ground does anything but endanger your neighbors, their dogs, their kids? It helps nobody but people who want justified reasons to use a deadly weapon.&#8221;
&#8220;If I’d been shot and killed playing hide and seek, would that new neighbor have been able to just shrug his shoulders while living across the street from my grieving parents? With laws like this, probably yes,&#8221; she concluded. &#8220;I don’t want to live in a world where we fear our neighbors so much that we can’t freely lose a ball/dog/frisbee or cut through somebody’s yard to avoid harassment &#8211; all things I have done. Banks has been and continues to be an outspoken advocate for abortion and even chose to lead the Creative Council at the Center for Reproductive Rights.
“I believe that women’s equality begins with our fundamental human rights over bodily autonomy. So I feel like this is baseline for female equality in the world, deciding when and with whom to have children,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2019.
Reproductive rights in media is a really important tool for keeping the issues that we are all facing at the forefront,” she added. “As someone who struggled with fertility issues and made embryos, I think there’s such an interesting dialogue to be had about how abortion care is part of a larger package of reproductive care that is also about creating wonderful families and access to family care. It’s all very slippery slope and that’s what we’re trying to get across.”

Actress and filmmaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elizabeth-banks-preemptively-blamed-men-sexism-for-charlies-angels-box-office-bomb">Elizabeth Banks</a> is pretty &#8220;woke,&#8221; as far as &#8220;woke&#8221; standards in Hollywood go. For example, the 45-year-old avid Planned Parenthood supporter recently created a terrible feminist film, a &#8220;Charlie&#8217;s Angels&#8221; reboot, that bombed at the box office. And when it tanked, Banks naturally blamed sexism and men.
But she&#8217;s not &#8220;woke&#8221; enough, apparently.
On Wednesday, the &#8220;Hunger Games&#8221; actress was dragged on social media for a supposedly insensitive and &#8220;tone deaf&#8221; &#8220;health tip&#8221; about drinking water.
&#8220;Drink the water, children,&#8221; Banks captioned a post containing two side-by-side photos of herself. The first photo is labeled, &#8220;Beginning of the decade,&#8221; and the second, &#8220;End of the decade.&#8221;

Folks online said Banks&#8217; sustaining good looks can likely be credited to factors other than just drinking water — such as her wealth. Others knocked the actress for not being sensitive enough to poor people in places like Flint, Michigan, who don&#8217;t have access to clean water.

Fawning over the rich and their ability to purchase youth and longevity is sad. We are all living in a new-feudal system worshipping an aristocracy and applauding the wealthy while we squabble for scraps.
Drinking water isn&#8217;t going to stop aging! If you&#8217;d like to be helpful, please share your diet, exercise regiment &amp; if you use a trainer or nutritionist. Telling people you look young and pretty because you drink water pushes unhealthy stereotypes that lead to eating disorders.

As noted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/get-woke-go-broke-charlies-angels-bombs-at-the-box-office">The Daily Wire</a>, Banks&#8217; new feminist-lecturing “Charlie’s Angels” had a budget of $48 million before marketing costs. On opening weekend, the flick took in a mere $8.6 million domestically and scored $19.3 million for its international haul, totaling just $26.1 million worldwide.
As for why the film bombed? Banks attributed that to sexism and men.
“Look, people have to buy tickets to this movie, too. This movie has to make money,” Banks told the <a href="https://www.heraldsun.com.au/subscribe/news/1/?sourceCode=HSWEB_WRE170_a&amp;dest=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.heraldsun.com.au%2Fentertainment%2Felizabeth-banks-charlies-angels-needs-to-be-a-box-office-smash%2Fnews-story%2F6734bbb011c524237b8bd58b54108531&amp;memtype=anonymous&amp;mode=premium">Herald Sun</a>, <a href="https://www.indiewire.com/2019/11/elizabeth-banks-charlies-angels-captain-marvel-wonder-woman-1202190283/">IndieWire</a> reported. “If this movie doesn’t make money it reinforces a stereotype in Hollywood that men don’t go see women do action movies.”
“They’ll go and see a comic book movie with Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel because that’s a male genre,” Banks claimed. “So even though those are movies about women, they put them in the context of feeding the larger comic book world, so it’s all about, yes, you’re watching a Wonder Woman movie but we’re setting up three other characters or we’re setting up ‘Justice League.’”

NOT ‘WOKE’ ENOUGH: Feminist Elizabeth Banks Dragged Over ‘Tone Deaf’ Health Tip

Actress Elizabeth Banks, the director of the upcoming &#8220;Charlies Angels&#8221; reboot, will take her much-ballyhooed abortion enthusiasm to new heights by leading the new Creative Council at the Center for Reproductive Rights.
&#8220;The initiative, chaired by Banks, will use stars&#8217; platforms to educate about and advocate for the Center&#8217;s issues,&#8221; reported <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/elizabeth-banks-lead-center-reproductive-rights-creative-council-1250709">The Hollywood Reporter</a> (THR). &#8220;The creative council&#8217;s advocacy will focus in part on the Supreme Court case June Medical Services, LLC v. Gee, which challenges a Louisiana law designed to shut down abortion clinics.&#8221;
Speaking with THR, Banks said that reproductive rights are a &#8220;baseline&#8221; for female equality.
&#8220;I believe that women&#8217;s equality begins with our fundamental human rights over bodily autonomy. So I feel like this is baseline for female equality in the world, deciding when and with whom to have children,&#8221; she said.
Banks also extolled the many Hollywood women with platforms who helped found the council, including Busy Philipps, Aja Naomi King, and Amy Brenneman.
&#8220;We looked for women who were already sympathetic to the cause or who had already participated in some way in a campaign for the Center,&#8221; Banks said. &#8220;There&#8217;s a real power to having people who have platforms be able to elevate the critical role that the Center is playing in protecting our freedoms. My hope is that all of the members of the Council take seriously this responsibility to mention the Center&#8217;s work, to advocate for the Center whenever they can &#8230; and add reproductive rights stories to the work that they&#8217;re already doing.&#8221;
Banks also stresses other issues related to reproduction, such as embryos and other fertility issues.
&#8220;Reproductive rights in media is a really important tool for keeping the issues that we are all facing at the forefront,&#8221; Banks said. &#8220;As someone who struggled with fertility issues and made embryos, I think there&#8217;s such an interesting dialogue to be had about how abortion care is part of a larger package of reproductive care that is also about creating wonderful families and access to family care. It&#8217;s all very slippery slope and that&#8217;s what we&#8217;re trying to get across.&#8221;
Nancy Northup, president and CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights, told THR in a statement that Banks and the female artists working with her will be instrumental in expanding &#8220;reproductive rights&#8221; across the globe.
&#8220;The Center for Reproductive Rights is proud to partner with these powerful artists to protect and expand reproductive rights access across the globe through our work in the courts, in public policy and before human rights bodies,&#8221; said Northup. &#8220;We know the impact these artists can have in advocating for change and reaching new audiences to raise awareness about reproductive rights issues, including maternal health, abortion care, contraception and assisted reproduction.&#8221;
The announcement of the Creative Council comes amid Tinseltown pushing the most pro-abortion propaganda in its history.
“So far, halfway through the year, nearly two dozen characters in streaming shows, movies and television have had or talked about having abortions, many unapologetically, a development that would have been unthinkable a decade ago — and one that has angered some abortion foes,” reported <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/18/arts/abortion-hollywood.html">The New York Times </a>earlier this year.

Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks opened night two of the Democratic National Convention by lampooning The Donald&#8217;s smoke-filled, rocked-out, pro-wrestling inspired RNC introduction.
In the video (below), Banks recreates the full-effect including the backlit silhouetting and blaring Queen&#8217;s &#8220;We Are The Champions.&#8221;
&#8220;You know I don&#8217;t usually say this about Donald Trump, but that was over the top,&#8221; Banks tells the crowd. &#8220;I confirmed it, just now. The Trump campaign is so hard-up for money that I just bought their fog machine on Ebay for 30 bucks.&#8221;

In her speech, the actress goes on to compare The Donald to her character from the popular tween movie series that made her famous.
&#8220;Some of you know me from the Hunger Games in which I play Effie Trinket, a cruel, out of touch reality TV star who wears insane wigs while delivering long winded speeches to a violent dystopia. So when I tuned into Cleveland last week I was like, &#8216;Hey, that&#8217;s my act.'&#8221;
Banks told the crowd of her first date with her husband: a 1992 Bill Clinton rally where she first gazed upon &#8220;Shrillary.&#8221;
&#8220;It was there that I learned something really important about show business,&#8221; Banks recalled. &#8220;The headliner should always watch out for someone stealing the show. Hillary Clinton rocked my world. A smart, committed, successful woman, and not for her own benefit, but a fighter for women and children, cops and first responders, health care and girls around the world.&#8221;

Banks ended by proudly telling the arena, &#8220;Did you know that when Hillary Clinton graduated law school, she didn&#8217;t just sell-out and go work for some fancy law firm. She went to work advocating for children and families. It was one of her first fights and since then she has never let up.&#8221;
If only somebody in the control room at the end of her speech would&#8217;ve put up on the Jumbotron the clip of Hillary back in her young lawyer days laughing about the time she got her child rapist client off on a technicality:
