But recent reports show that <a href="https://www.autoweek.com/news/a60702457/federal-funds-yield-only-8-ev-charging-stations/">fewer than twenty</a> have been put in place so far.
“Remember we were told we couldn’t get anything done,” Biden declared. “We couldn&#8217;t get anything done in the Congress. Well with your support, we passed the most significant climate law in the history of mankind. For $370 billion dollars, cutting carbon emissions in half by 2030, launching a climate corps, similar to AmeriCorps or Peace Corps creating tens of thousands of jobs for young people in the future who are going to make sure this continues.”
“Creating hundreds of thousands of jobs in clean energy for American workers including the IBEW installing 500,000 charging stations all across America,” he claimed.

“The vast majority of chargers added in the US last year were bets by for-profit companies on the future of battery-powered driving,” Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-01-31/the-us-installed-more-than-1-000-ev-charging-stations-since-summer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> in January.
In contrast to Biden’s supposed effort, Elon Musk’s Tesla has been quite successful in its undertaking; as Reason Magazine <a href="https://reason.com/2024/05/30/7-5-billion-in-government-cash-only-built-8-e-v-chargers-in-2-5-years/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pointed out</a> at the end of May, stating that Musk’s company had a “network of Superchargers” that included “over 57,000 DCFC chargers around the world and generated an estimated $1.74 billion of revenue in 2023 alone. Nearly half of all Americans who have purchased an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/electric-cars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">electric vehicle</a> regret the decision and are planning to go back to driving a gas-powered vehicle when they make their next purchase.
The report from the consulting firm McKinsey &amp; Co. found that a staggering 46% of Americans who purchased an electric vehicle regret the decision and plan on making their next purchase an internal combustion engine.
The findings from the report counter narratives parroted by the Biden administration, Democrats, and the electric vehicle industry that EVs are the future and that buyers never regret their decision.
&#8220;I didn&#8217;t expect that,&#8221; said Philipp Kampshoff, leader of the consulting firm&#8217;s Center for Future Mobility. &#8220;I thought, &#8216;Once an EV buyer, always an EV buyer.'&#8221;
Kampshoff said that the findings were a serious &#8220;warning sign of the direction of travel&#8221; and that there was &#8220;a real stalling we’re seeing in the U.S. that we’re not seeing in other geographies.&#8221;
Globally, a third of the nearly 40,000 people surveyed said that they regretted their decision and planned to turn back to driving internal combustion engines.

Fisker announced this week that it has filed for bankruptcy as the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/electric-cars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">electric vehicle</a> market continues to collapse amid low demand for the costly vehicles and various other concerns about electric cars.
The company has struggled for a long time and had to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ev-startup-fisker-halts-production-to-raise-emergency-funds-amid-cash-crunch-from-low-demand" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stop production</a> of its vehicles earlier this year to raise hundreds of millions of dollars that it needed to stay alive. The company later <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/01/business/ev-maker-fisker-says-it-may-go-out-of-business/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that it had “substantial doubt about Fisker’s ability to” stay in business.
Fisker said in a statement on Tuesday that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is already in &#8220;advanced discussions with financial stakeholders regarding debtor-in-possession financing and the sale of its assets.&#8221;
A spokesperson for the company claimed: &#8220;Fisker has made incredible progress since our founding, bringing the Ocean SUV to market twice as fast as expected in the auto industry and making good on our promises to deliver the most sustainable vehicle in the world.&#8221;
&#8220;We are proud of our achievements, and we have put thousands of Fisker Ocean SUVs in customers’ hands in both North American and Europe,&#8221; the spokesperson added. &#8220;But like other companies in the electric vehicle industry, we have faced various market and macroeconomic headwinds that have impacted our ability to operate efficiently. After evaluating all options for our business, we determined that proceeding with a sale of our assets under Chapter 11 is the most viable path forward for the company.&#8221;

Electric Car Company Fisker Files For Bankruptcy As EV Market Continues To Collapse

Virginia Governor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/glenn-youngkin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Glenn Youngkin</a> announced this week that he is withdrawing the state from participation in California&#8217;s extreme auto emissions standards.
The move from Youngkin comes after Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares said that the state was not required to comply with California&#8217;s mandates that start next year, which were initiated by the Democrat state&#8217;s unelected California Air Resources Board (CARB).
“Once again, Virginia is declaring independence – this time from a misguided electric vehicle mandate imposed by unelected leaders nearly 3,000 miles away from the Commonwealth,” Youngkin <a href="https://www.governor.virginia.gov/newsroom/news-releases/2024/june/name-1028520-en.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a press release. “The idea that government should tell people what kind of car they can or can’t purchase is fundamentally wrong. Virginians deserve the freedom to choose which vehicles best fit the needs of their families and businesses. The law is clear, and I am proud to announce Virginians will no longer be forced to live under this out-of-touch policy.”
At an event at a car dealership on Wednesday, Youngkin said that the move was about &#8220;celebrating freedom.&#8221;
&#8220;It’s about celebrating the Virginia promise that you get to come to the commonwealth of Virginia, have an extraordinary life, and make decisions over your life,&#8221; he added. &#8220;But more importantly, this is about choosing what car you drive.&#8221;
State Democrats <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/06/05/youngkin-virginia-auto-emissions-california/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">responded</a> by claiming that Youngkin lifting restrictions on Virginians was a sign that the state had descended into a &#8220;dictatorship&#8221; and that he didn&#8217;t care about the environment.

“EV mandates like California’s are unworkable and out of touch with reality, and thankfully the law does not bind us to their regulations,&#8221; he added. &#8220;California does not control which cars Virginians buy and any thoughts that automobile manufacturers should face millions of dollars in civil penalties rather than allowing our citizens to choose their own vehicles is completely absurd.”
Virginia&#8217;s pushback against electric vehicle standards comes as the industry has been on a down swing for a long time now as consumer demand has plummeted for a variety of reasons.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was confronted over the weekend about President Joe Biden&#8217;s attempt to push Americans to buy electric vehicles and his administration&#8217;s failure to turn billions of dollars in federal investment into a network of charging stations.
Buttigieg faced the questions during a Sunday CBS News interview on &#8220;Face The Nation&#8221; with host Margaret Brennan when asked about former President Donald Trump hammering Biden over the issue on the campaign trail.
Brennan played a video clip of Trump saying: &#8220;Do you notice [Biden]&#8217;s trying to save the electrical vehicle but not the gas-powered, which is the vehicle that everybody wants. They&#8217;re going crazy with the electric car, costing us a fortune. We&#8217;re spending hundreds of billions of dollars subsidizing a car that nobody wants and nobody&#8217;s ever gonna buy.&#8221;
Brennan responded to the clip of Trump&#8217;s remarks by stating: &#8220;He&#8217;s not wrong.&#8221;
Buttigieg insisted that Trump was wrong, to which Brennan responded: &#8220;On the purchasing, he&#8217;s not. Of the 4 million vehicles purchased, you know what- 269,000 electric vehicles were sold in the US market. It&#8217;s up like 2%.&#8221;
Later in the interview, Brennan pressed Buttigieg about the $7.5 billion investment that taxpayers made back in 2021 for a charging network for electric vehicles that has produced only seven or eight charging stations total, a job that Buttigieg is supposed to be overseeing, Brennan said.

Sulfur hexafluoride, a gas 24,300 times more potent at creating the greenhouse effect than carbon dioxide, is being released into the atmosphere at an alarming rate as China seeks to expand its electric power grid.
The findings were from a new <a href="https://eaps.mit.edu/news-impact/atmospheric-observations-in-china-show-rise-in-emissions-of-a-potent-greenhouse-gas/">study</a> conducted by researchers at the MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change, Fudan University, Peking University, University of Bristol, and Meteorological Observation Center of China Meteorological Administration.
&#8220;Greenhouse gases differ widely in their global warming potential (GWP), or ability to absorb radiative energy and thereby warm the Earth’s surface,&#8221; MIT said. &#8220;For example, measured over a 100-year period, the GWP of methane is about 28 times that of carbon dioxide (CO2), and the GWP of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) is 24,300 times that of CO2.&#8221;
Sulfur hexafluoride, SF6, is used &#8220;primarily in high-voltage electrical switchgear in electric power grids,&#8221; the report said, adding that atmospheric concentrations of the greenhouse gas have skyrocketed as the global demand for electric power increases.
The report said that the increase in SF6 in the atmosphere, which communist China is largely responsible for, threatens the world’s efforts to combat so-called &#8220;climate change.&#8221;
&#8220;The researchers found that SF6 emissions in China almost doubled from 2.6 gigagrams (Gg) per year in 2011, when they accounted for 34 percent of global SF6 emissions, to 5.1 Gg per year in 2021, when they accounted for 57 percent of global total SF6 emissions,&#8221; the report said. &#8220;This increase from China over the 10-year period — some of it emerging from the country’s less-populated western regions — was larger than the global total SF6 emissions rise, highlighting the importance of lowering SF6 emissions from China in the future.&#8221;
SF6 gasses that escape in the atmosphere last for more than a thousand years and with a negative impact 24,300 times greater than CO2, the stakes could not be higher as officials seek to force consumers to abandon gas powered vehicles and switch to electric vehicles which requires having a robust power grid.
“Any increase in SF6 emissions this century will effectively alter our planet’s radiative budget — the balance between incoming energy from the sun and outgoing energy from the Earth — far beyond the multi-decadal time frame of current climate policies,” says MIT Joint Program and CGCS Director Ronald Prinn, a coauthor of the study. “So it’s imperative that China and all other nations take immediate action to reduce, and ultimately eliminate, their SF6 emissions.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ford-motor-co" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ford Motor Co.</a> announced on Thursday that it is delaying the production of two new electric vehicles and that it will instead focus on making more hybrid vehicles as consumer demand for electric vehicles continues to plummet.
The launch of at least two new three-row electric vehicles will be delayed from 2025 to 2027, the company said in a statement.
&#8220;The additional time will allow for the consumer market for three-row EVs to further develop and enable Ford to take advantage of emerging battery technology,&#8221; the company claimed.
&#8220;In parallel, Ford is expanding its hybrid electric vehicle offerings,&#8221; the company said. &#8220;By the end of the decade, the company expects to offer hybrid powertrains across its entire Ford Blue lineup in North America.&#8221;

Eight states — California, Rhode Island, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington — and the District of Columbia are now on board with plans to ban the sale of gas-powered vehicles within the next decade.
The plans to phase out the vehicles and switch to electric and hybrid vehicles come as the Biden administration continues to pursue its <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/20/climate/biden-phase-out-gas-cars.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lofty</a> climate goals in a struggling economy. The administration, for example, wants half of all new cars and trucks sold in 2030 to be zero-emission, despite <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ford-cuts-production-of-electric-truck-they-touted-as-the-future-hiring-hundreds-to-build-more-gas-vehicles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sputtering</a> EV sales.
All 8 of the states and D.C. have <a href="https://www.kbb.com/car-news/maryland-becomes-7th-state-banning-new-gas-car-sales-after-2035/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">adopted</a> the Advanced Clean Cars II rule, and will have an outright ban on the sale of new gas-powered vehicles after 2035.
California was the first to adopt the rule, aiming to have 35% of new vehicle sales emit zero emissions by 2026, and boosting that goal to 68% by 2030.

As <a href="https://money.com/states-banning-gas-powered-cars/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> by Money, the states&#8217; plans to ban gas-powered vehicles have generally not required votes from lawmakers, but have been advanced with support from governors and environmental regulators.
The EV market has struggled in recent months, as highlighted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ford-cuts-production-of-electric-truck-they-touted-as-the-future-hiring-hundreds-to-build-more-gas-vehicles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a>. Ford, for example, had to cut 1,400 employees from its Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, rolled back the planned production number of the electric F-150 Lightnings in half, and slashed $12 billion in EV investments.
President Biden, however, is not slowing down when it comes to targeting the gas-powered vehicle industry. Earlier this month, Biden&#8217;s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) set new eye-popping regulations in an effort to increase the number of electric vehicles on the road.

For example, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) railed against the EPA&#8217;s move, calling it both &#8220;reckless&#8221; and &#8220;ill-informed.&#8221;
“The federal government has no authority and no right to mandate what type of car or truck Americans can purchase for their everyday lives,” the senator said. “This reckless and ill-informed rule will impose what is effectively an EV mandate without ensuring the security of our supply chains from nations like China and without a realistic transition plan that addresses our domestic infrastructure needs.”

&#8220;Joe Biden&#8217;s extreme electric vehicle mandate will force Americans to buy ultra-expensive cars they do not want and cannot afford while destroying the U.S. auto industry in the process,&#8221; a Trump campaign spokesperson said in a statement. &#8220;This radical policy is anti-jobs, anti-consumer, and anti-American. It will destroy the livelihoods of countless U.S. autoworkers while sending the U.S. auto industry to China.&#8221;
&#8220;President Trump will reverse Joe Biden&#8217;s extreme electric vehicle mandate on Day One,&#8221; the statement continued. &#8220;He will protect the freedom of Americans to drive whichever vehicle they choose, enhance President Trump’s tough tariffs on Chinese-imported cars, and save the U.S. auto industry for generations to come.&#8221;
The finalized rule was a concession to far-Left environmentalists who demanded the most aggressive effort ever to eliminate combustion engine vehicles.

American Fuel &amp; Petrochemical Manufacturers President and CEO Chet Thompson and American Petroleum Institute President and CEO Mike Sommers said in a joint statement that Congress needed to stop the extreme agenda.
&#8220;At a time when millions of Americans are struggling with high costs and inflation, the Biden administration has finalized a regulation that will unequivocally eliminate most new gas cars and traditional hybrids from the U.S. market in less than a decade,&#8221; the statement said. &#8220;As much as the President and EPA claim to have ‘eased’ their approach, nothing could be further from the truth.&#8221;
&#8220;This regulation will make new gas-powered vehicles unavailable or prohibitively expensive for most Americans,&#8221; the statement continued. &#8220;For them, this wildly unpopular policy is going to feel and function like a ban.&#8221;

The startup <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/electric-cars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">electric car</a> company Fisker said this week that it is halting the production of its vehicles to raise $150 million in emergency funds as it grapples with a cash crunch spurred by a low demand for electric vehicles.
The California-based company, which says its mission is to &#8220;create the world’s most emotional and sustainable electric vehicles,&#8221; has barely produced over a thousand electric vehicles worldwide for the year.
&#8220;The company has approximately 4,700 vehicles in its currently inventory, carried over from 2023 and including 2024 production,&#8221; the company said. &#8220;While it has not completed an NRV analysis for 2024, Fisker believes the completed vehicle value for its inventory as of March 15, 2024, is in excess of $200 million.&#8221;
&#8220;Fisker will pause production for six weeks starting the week of March 18, 2024, to align inventory levels and progress strategic and financing initiatives,&#8221; it added.
Reuters <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ev-startup-fisker-sell-166-115743611.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> last month that signals from the car company indicated that there was &#8220;substantial doubt about its ability to continue&#8221; due to the financial health of the company.
