President Donald Trump called for Republicans to get a national voter ID law passed ahead of the midterm elections, saying that he would take executive action if Congress could not get it done.
Trump’s call comes after the SAVE America Act requiring photo identification and proof of citizenship to vote in elections <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/house-passes-revamped-bill-to-prevent-illegal-immigrants-from-voting-senate-battle-looms">passed</a> the House on Wednesday and headed to the Senate.
“We cannot let the Democrats get away with NO VOTER I.D. any longer. These are horrible, disingenuous CHEATERS. They have all sorts of reasons why it shouldn’t be passed, and then boldly laugh in the backrooms after their ridiculous presentations,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday. “If it weren’t such a serious matter, it would be considered a TOTAL JOKE! No Voter I.D. is even crazier, and more ridiculous, than Men playing in Women’s Sports, Open Borders, or Transgender for Everyone.”
Trump said Republicans should be talking about the issue in every speech, pointing to polling that most Americans support voter ID laws.
“This is an issue that must be fought, and must be fought, NOW!” Trump said. “If we can’t get it through Congress, there are Legal reasons why this SCAM is not permitted. I will be presenting them shortly, in the form of an Executive Order.”
Trump said that if Democrats took back power, they would move to make Washington, D.C.,  and Puerto Rico states, pack the Supreme Court, and remove the filibuster in the Senate.
“Our Country will never be the same if they allow these demented and evil people to knowingly, and happily, destroy it,” Trump said.
According to the <a href="https://www.ncsl.org/elections-and-campaigns/voter-id">National Conference of State Legislatures</a>, &#8220;Thirty-six states have laws requesting or requiring voters to show some form of identification at the polls. The remaining 14 states and Washington, D.C., use other methods to verify the identity of voters. Most frequently, other identifying information provided at the polling place, such as a signature, is checked against information on file.&#8221;
After the House passed the SAVE America Act on Wednesday, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) has been pushing for it to move forward in the Senate. He has already picked up 49 Republican co-sponsors of the legislation and got commitment to support the bill from Senator Susan Collins (R-ME).
In a <a href="https://x.com/BasedMikeLee/status/2022447031386804662">video</a> posted to social media, Lee said that Republicans in the Senate should now move forward to debate and force Democrats to use the “talking filibuster” instead of the “zombie filibuster.”
Polling <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/poll-undercuts-democrat-voter-suppression-claims">released</a> by Cygnal this week found that 72% of white voters, 69% of Hispanic voters, and 56% of black voters support requiring identification at the polls.

In the last couple of days, the media has been forced to acknowledge reality on multiple fronts, beginning with one of the most controversial bills going through Congress right now. Senator Mike Lee, a great Republican senator, is the champion behind the bill and it’s called the SAVE Act.
What is the SAVE Act? It&#8217;s the Safeguard American Voting Eligibility Act, which says you need to prove that you&#8217;re eligible to vote if you want to vote. 
Simple, right? This should easily pass.
Not only can they not get the Democrats to vote for it — because Democrats want the illegals to vote so that they can rig elections and steal votes from the American people — apparently, the Republicans can&#8217;t even get the Republicans to vote for this. Senate Majority Leader John Thune says there aren&#8217;t anywhere close to the votes to nuking the filibuster, which would be required to get the SAVE Act through. So, although that idea continues to be put out there, it doesn&#8217;t have a future.
Making Americans submit ID in order to vote — safeguarding American elections in the most basic way — doesn&#8217;t have a future, not just because of Democrats who obviously don&#8217;t want to secure our elections, but because of Republicans.
So, you might say, well, some of these senators, you know, they&#8217;re representing whole states and some of those states are kind of purple. You know, maybe this is really a controversial issue. You know, the Democrats hate voter ID and maybe it&#8217;s controversial among Republicans.

I was surprised by these racial polls — and actually by the partisan poll too. Basically every Republican supports voter ID, but even 71% of Democrats favor voter ID. Yet zero percent of Democrats who are in elected office support voter ID.
You have 76% of Black people — this is the most reliably Democrat racial group, the group that we are told is specifically being disenfranchised by voter ID — more than three quarters of them support voter ID.
When you look at Latinos, it&#8217;s even higher: 82%. We&#8217;re told Latinos are being discriminated against, it&#8217;s hard for them to get ID.
And white people are close to the Latinos at 85%.
Everybody supports voter ID except for elected Democrats, none of whom support voter ID. Why? Because they are trying to steal elections. This isn&#8217;t tinfoil hat stuff. This is the only way to explain the discrepancy between elected Democrats — politicians, operatives, activists — and ordinary voters. Basically everyone in the country supports voter ID. The only people who don&#8217;t are the ones who particularly work to run and win elections.

What you&#8217;re going to hear from the establishment media is, well, actually, you know, it&#8217;s very rare for illegal aliens to vote in elections. It&#8217;s very rare for people who are ineligible to vote in elections.
Right. Sure. Okay. 
The libs have told you a lot of lies over the years, and I&#8217;m not going to go through the litany of them now but I just want to take you back a few months.
Do you remember when the Democrats shut the government down? The Democrats shut the government down because they wanted to try to juice their numbers before some special elections. And the Republicans came out and said you&#8217;re shutting the government down in order to give health care to illegal aliens.
And the Democrats uniformly said, no, we are not. We do not give health care to illegal aliens. That is not true. That&#8217;s a lie.
By the end of the shutdown, the Democrats were inveighing against the Republicans because they said this is so awful — illegal aliens can&#8217;t get food, they&#8217;re losing their health care, they&#8217;re losing their SNAP benefits. They completely contradicted themselves over the course of weeks. Not years, not even months but weeks. They told you illegal aliens don&#8217;t get health care and welfare, and then they told you we have to reopen the government so that illegal aliens can get health care and welfare again.
The Democrats tell you that illegal aliens are not voting, but they are fighting tooth and nail against the vast majority of their own voters to prevent voter ID. Why? I think it might have something to do with the fact that illegal aliens are voting. The Democrats are counting on illegal aliens to vote. Even beyond illegal aliens, there are plenty of other ineligible voters who are not illegal aliens — voters who maybe are bussed in from out of district, voters who maybe because of felonies or other issues are not allowed to vote. Regardless, they need to minimize ballot security measures.
The only explanation—the only explanation—for the Democrats to fight against their own voters on this issue is that they want to steal elections. If you don&#8217;t get that at this point, I don&#8217;t know how to help you.

The House of Representatives passed a new version of the SAVE America Act on Wednesday evening, giving some new life to legislation that would require photo identification and proof of U.S. citizenship for voters.
The vote went largely along party lines, with every Republican who was present voting in favor of the measure. The lone Democrat to break with his party and vote for the SAVE America Act was Henry Cuellar (D-TX).
The bill, introduced by Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy and pushed by President Donald Trump, now heads to the Senate, where it faces an uphill battle to reach Trump&#8217;s desk. To pass the Senate, the SAVE Act will have to reach the 60-vote threshold to overcome the filibuster, meaning at least seven Democrats would have to join all Republicans in approving the bill, which is unlikely.
Recent polling shows that the vast majority of Americans support photo ID requirements for voting, but legislation mandating ID requirements has struggled to gain traction in Congress. On Tuesday, Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska also came out <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/gop-sen-lisa-murkowski-comes-trumps-election-bill-warning-party-rcna258353">against</a> the bill, arguing that it would &#8220;effectively&#8221; federalize elections, something she said Republicans have opposed in the past.
The House passed another version of the SAVE Act last year, but it stalled in the Senate. The revamped version of the bill would require voters to provide proof of citizenship along with photo ID before they cast their ballots, meaning people would have to show additional documentation such as a passport or a birth certificate.
Democrats claim that the SAVE America Act would &#8220;disenfranchise millions of Americans.&#8221; Earlier this month, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer <a href="https://x.com/SenSchumer/status/2018443554201452623">called</a> the bill &#8220;Jim Crow 2.0,&#8221; the same criticism Democrats used for Georgia&#8217;s photo ID law that passed in 2021.
&#8220;Millions of American citizens — millions — don’t have access to the paperwork that SAVE would require and would be in danger of getting shut out of our democracy,&#8221; Schumer <a href="https://www.democrats.senate.gov/news/press-releases/leader-schumer-floor-remarks-on-how-the-save-act-would-disenfranchise-millions-of-american-voters-says-it-is-dead-on-arrival-in-the-senate">said</a> during remarks on the Senate floor on Monday. &#8220;For example, if you’re one of the 50% of Americans who doesn’t have a passport, or if you’re one of the tens of millions of Americans who can’t quickly access your birth certificate, the SAVE Act could, in effect, take away your right to vote.&#8221;
Republicans have pushed back on Democrats&#8217; arguments, saying that U.S. citizens can obtain passports and copies of their birth certificates.
“The SAVE America Act provides multiple ways to prove citizenship, as millions of Americans do every day for work, travel, and financial transactions,” <a href="https://www.deseret.com/politics/2026/02/10/mike-lee-save-act-women-voters/">said</a> Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee, who introduced the legislation in the Senate. “It’s sad that congressional Democrats are so afraid of election security that they’re willing to spread falsehoods about commonsense safeguards supported by a majority of both Republicans and Democrats across the country.”
For months, Trump has called on Republicans to abolish the filibuster, which would help them pass some of his important agenda items like the SAVE Act, but Republican leaders have pushed back. Earlier this week, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) said, &#8220;There aren’t anywhere close to the votes, not even close, to nuking the filibuster.&#8221;
Lee told Deseret News that there could be another way to pass the SAVE Act without &#8220;nuking&#8221; the filibuster. He said the Senate could revive the talking filibuster, which requires senators to be on the floor and actively speaking to stall a vote, a move that could circumvent the 60-vote threshold needed for cloture.
“Nothing in the Senate’s an easy move. This one’s certainly not,” Lee added. “But if we want to do this, this is how we have to go about it.”

The National Republican Campaign Committee will host President Donald Trump for the second consecutive year at its presidential dinner fundraiser on March 25, underscoring an extremely competitive midterm election cycle.
In a video first shared with The Daily Wire, the dinner is expected to honor the president as he begins the second year of his second term.
“Republicans will fight for every state, every seat, and every single vote. We&#8217;re going to fight like hell, and we&#8217;re going to win, win, win like we&#8217;ve never won before,” Trump said in his address from last year, which is shown in the video. The spot highlighted various GOP incumbents in key races, including Reps. Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), and Jen Kiggans (R-VA).
The NRCC’s role is to focus on target races for Republicans to either flip or retain – a large undertaking with the GOP&#8217;s razor-thin House majority.

At last year’s presidential dinner, the organization raised a “record-shattering” $35.2 million. The group slightly outraised its Democratic counterpart, the DCCC, by more than $2 million in 2025, according to <a href="https://www.newsmax.com/politics/midterms-fundraising-gop/2026/02/03/id/1244668/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Newsmax</a>.
“House Republicans are proud to have the unwavering support of President Donald J. Trump as we march toward November with undeniable momentum,” NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson said. “Across the country, Americans are energized to grow our House majority and keep delivering on President Trump’s America First agenda.”
Trump is expected to hit the campaign trail this year seeking to maintain or grow his majorities to keep his agenda alive. Most notably, Congress passed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” last July, which addressed several of the administration’s goals, including tax cuts and immigration, and will likely be debated in congressional districts nationwide as November approaches.
&#8220;I’m gonna do a lot of campaign traveling,” Trump said in January, according to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-vows-heavy-campaign-push-gop-cites-midterm-curse-sitting-presidents" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a>. &#8220;We’re going to work hard.&#8221;
In his official capacity, the president has delivered several recent economic speeches in states with swing districts, including Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Iowa, as affordability is expected to be a top issue in the general election.
On the Senate side, where Republicans currently hold a 53-47 majority, the Cook Political Report <a href="https://www.cookpolitical.com/ratings/senate-race-ratings">rates</a> four races as &#8220;toss-ups&#8221; in Maine, Michigan, Georgia, and North Carolina.
On Wednesday morning, the committee sent an email blasting Republicans in various target races after a failed House vote to block resolutions against the administration&#8217;s tariffs. The DCCC claimed GOP lawmakers &#8220;voted to shield Donald Trump from Congressional oversight on his sweeping, reckless tariffs that are raising costs.&#8221;

Polling firm Cygnal released a new survey on Wednesday showing broad support for voter identification requirements, including a majority backing among black, Hispanic, and white voters. The poll found that 72% of white voters, 69% of Hispanic voters, and 56% of black voters support requiring identification at the polls.  
“Hakeem Jeffries seems to think voter ID is voter suppression, but when you actually ask voters, 70% of American voters overall, 75% of swing voters, 69% of hispanics, 56% of black voters, and even 46% of democrats support voter ID,” said pollster and Senior Partner John Rogers. He added that Republicans view the issue as politically advantageous heading into the midterms. “It shows Republicans have another winning issue heading into the midterms if they lean into it with confidence.”
Jeffries has <a href="https://jeffries.house.gov/2026/02/08/leader-jeffries-on-cnn-we-need-to-ensure-that-there-are-legislative-changes-enacted-as-part-of-any-dhs-spending-bill/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">opposed</a> the SAVE Act, which would require documentary proof of citizenship to register for federal elections, arguing that the GOP is attempting to discourage voter participation. &#8220;What Republicans are trying to do is to engage in clear and blatant voter suppression,&#8221; said Jeffries. &#8220;They know that if there&#8217;s a free and fair election in November, they&#8217;re going to lose.&#8221;
The House passed a version of the bill in the fall, which is now under consideration in the Senate.
The Cygnal poll was conducted from February 3-4 among 1,500 likely 2026 midterm voters and has a margin of error of 2.51%. It found 70% support for requiring voter ID for federal elections, compared with 26% opposed. Support was strongest among Republicans at 92%, while 46% of Democrats said they favor voter ID requirements.
Cygnal’s findings align with other national surveys. A Gallup poll conducted last fall found that <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/652523/americans-endorse-early-voting-voter-verification.aspx#:~:text=requiring%20photo%20identification%20to%20vote%20(84%25)">84%</a> of Americans favor voter ID requirements, while the Pew Research Center reported almost identical findings, with <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2026/02/voter-id-is-overwhelmingly-popular-with-literally-everyone-except-democrat-politicians/">83%</a> support.
The SAVE Act would mandate that states obtain documentary proof of American citizenship before registering to vote in federal elections and would require the removal of noncitizens from voter rolls. 
In order for the SAVE Act to pass the Senate, a simple majority of fifty-one votes is required. However, the bill would need 60 votes to overcome a potential filibuster. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) has expressed support for voter ID requirements but acknowledged the measure might lack the votes to advance. &#8220;How we get to that vote remains to be seen,&#8221; he said.

A new poll shows that Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) could be Texas’ Democratic Senate nominee, as all eyes have been on the messy primaries in the Lone Star State ahead of the March 3 Election Day.
The University of Houston <a href="https://www.uh.edu/hobby/primary2026/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">poll</a> of 550 likely voters showed Crockett up by eight points over state Rep. James Talarico, with 47% compared with his 39%.
“Congresswoman Crockett is in the best position to reassemble a winning Texas democratic coalition in November. That coalition requires exciting the base to turn out, while bringing working people, Latinos, and young voters back into the fold. The poll demonstrates that independents and disillusioned Republicans favor Crockett as opposed to the other candidates,” her campaign said in a press release on Monday regarding the survey conducted from Jan. 20-31.
Other polls have shown Crockett leading, but some, like a recent Emerson College survey, have shown Talarico ahead by as much as nine percentage points. The race turned ugly after former Democratic Senate candidate Rep. Colin Allred strongly criticized Talarico over an allegation that the state representative referred to the former congressman as a “mediocre Black man,” according to the <a href="https://www.texastribune.org/2026/02/02/texas-us-senate-democratic-primary-colin-allred-james-talarico-mediocre-black-man-tiktok/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Texas Tribune</a>.
The National Republican Campaign Committee said that Crockett&#8217;s lead in the poll is a sign that the Democratic Party is moving further to the Left, even in the traditionally conservative Lone Star State.
&#8220;Today&#8217;s Democrat Party is getting more progressive and extreme by the second, but one thing remains true: Jasmine Crockett&#8217;s radical anti-Trump agenda is wrong for Texas,&#8221; NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell said in a statement to The Daily Wire. The group is backing incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the competitive Republican primary.
On the Republican side, President Donald Trump has yet to make an endorsement in the race, and it’s unclear if he will with less than a month to go. Cornyn is up against Attorney General Ken Paxton and Rep. Wesley Hunt for the seat, and the same University of Houston poll showed Paxton leading with 38%, compared with 31% for the incumbent senator and 17% for Hunt.
Hunt&#8217;s campaign spokesperson, James Kyrkanides, said in a statement that the poll is an “interesting snapshot” into the general electorate. In head-to-head matchups, each of the Republican candidates would defeat either Crockett or Talarico by a thin margin. Paxton would defeat either Democrat by two points, Cornyn would beat Crockett by two and Talarico by one, and Hunt would beat Crockett by three and Talarico by four.
Kyrkanides said other polls have indicated that the “campaign has surged into second place&#8221; and that “John Cornyn’s campaign has collapsed.”
Texas primaries require a candidate to break 50% of the vote to become the nominee.
“While the primary results in the [university] poll are being debated, one fact is undeniable: Among general election voters, Wesley Hunt once again outperforms both John Cornyn and Ken Paxton,” the statement continued. “This has been consistent since the day Hunt entered the race in October. The data keeps saying the same thing. Anyone making ‘electability’ arguments while excluding Wesley Hunt isn’t serious about winning. They’re serious about protecting the status quo. Texas voters are moving on.&#8221;
Paxton said that the poll, which also indicates he would defeat Cornyn in a runoff, is a good sign that he will be the Republican nominee.
&#8220;Ensuring that low-propensity America First voters are motivated to show up in November is critical to Republicans&#8217; success in 2026, and John Cornyn is the single worst person in Texas to accomplish that. Luckily, he won&#8217;t be on the ballot because Texans are ready to fire him this spring. In 2022, I faced tens of millions in negative attacks and then proceeded to overwhelmingly defeat my primary opponents and win the general by nearly ten points. I&#8217;m ready and in a strong position to do the same in 2026.&#8221;
As for Cornyn, he&#8217;s pulled no punches against his opponents on both sides of the aisle, as he came out with an ad on Sunday taking aim at both Democrats, and recently saying that he is the &#8220;only electable Republican in this primary, a proven conservative with real experience and results who votes with President Trump more than 99% of the time.&#8221;
The Cook Political Report currently ranks the general election race as “Likely Republican.”

Two prominent Democrats — one in the House and one in the Senate — spoke out on Sunday against a move suggested by President Donald Trump even though both championed a similar move five years earlier when their party was in control.
For those who don&#8217;t spend their Sunday mornings glued to the television — and their Sunday afternoons attempting to dig through a week&#8217;s worth of network and cable news media spin — The Daily Wire has compiled a short summary of what you may have missed.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) both responded to President Trump&#8217;s wild suggestion that Republicans should &#8220;nationalize&#8221; voting, saying that laws dictating election procedures, constitutionally speaking, belonged to the individual states.
Trump sparked the debate with an apparently off-the-cuff comment during an interview with former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, when he said of the illegal aliens who&#8217;d flooded into the United States through former President Joe Biden&#8217;s open border, &#8220;If we don’t get them out, Republicans will never win another election.&#8221;

The White House later explained that Trump had been referring to states where he believed election fraud was a real problem, and the president has not previously pushed the notion of &#8220;nationalizing&#8221; voting — but that did not stop Jeffries and Schiff from running with the idea as if he had.
The House Minority Leader joined CNN anchor Dana Bash to discuss the situation on &#8220;State of the Union,&#8221; and she began by noting that Republicans had argued that passing the SAVE Act — which would require all voters in the United States to show proof of citizenship at the polls — was the best way to prevent voter fraud in any state.
&#8220;I understand that you don&#8217;t support things like a passport, for example,&#8221; Bash began. &#8220;But requiring basic ID in order to vote is really popular. A Pew poll from a few months ago showed 83% of Americans, including 71% of your fellow Democrats, support requiring an ID to vote. Why are they wrong?&#8221;
&#8220;I haven&#8217;t said that they&#8217;re wrong,&#8221; Jeffries insisted before explaining why he was still opposed to the measure. &#8220;We know that states are the ones that are empowered to conduct elections, and every state should be allowed to decide the best way to proceed to ensure that there&#8217;s a free and fair election.&#8221;
&#8220;The question is that — what Republicans are trying to do is to engage in clear and blatant voter suppression,&#8221; he added. &#8220;They know that if there&#8217;s a free and fair election in November, they&#8217;re going to lose! In fact, Republicans have been losing every single election since Donald Trump was sworn in in January of last year, including most recently, decisively, in Texas.&#8221;
Bash pressed again, asking whether it would be worth it, since Democrats favor voter ID laws as well, to &#8220;take that off the table&#8221; as a point of contention: &#8220;Maybe not a passport or a birth certificate, but show ID.&#8221;
&#8220;Every state is empowered to be able to make the decision on their own,&#8221; Jeffries protested. &#8220;What Donald Trump wants to do is try to nationalize the election. Translation: steal it. And we&#8217;re not going to let it happen.&#8221;

Schiff took a similar tone with &#8220;This Week&#8221; host Jonathan Karl, who asked the California Senator to explain what the president meant when he&#8217;d told Bongino he wanted to &#8220;nationalize&#8221; voting in certain places.
&#8220;Senator, what does he mean? What do you think he means?&#8221; Karl asked.
&#8220;I think he fully intends to subvert the elections,&#8221; Schiff declared. &#8220;He will do everything he can to suppress the vote.&#8221;
Schiff, who still has not provided the evidence he claimed to have regarding President Trump and Russian collusion, went on to insist that Trump would take action if he did not like how the elections played out: &#8220;He&#8217;s prepared to try to take some kind of action to overturn the result, and we really shouldn&#8217;t question that.&#8221;

And yet both Jeffries and Schiff were all in when their own party pushed for national control over elections via 2021&#8217;s H.R. 1 — laughably nicknamed the &#8220;For the People Act.&#8221;
The bill&#8217;s purpose, according to the Democrats who wrote it, sounded reasonable enough: &#8220;To expand American&#8217;s access to the ballot box, reduce the influence of big money in politics, strengthen ethics rules for public servants, and implement other anti-corruption measures for the purpose of fortifying our democracy and for other purposes.&#8221;
But as former Manager of Election Law Reform Initiative at The Heritage Foundation Hans Von Spakovsky explained, what <a href="https://www.heritage.org/election-integrity/heritage-explains-if-hr-1-passes">the bill would actually</a> have done was pretty much the exact opposite of what its stated &#8220;purpose&#8221; suggested.
&#8220;A better description of it is that this bill would be a federal takeover and nationalization of the running and administration of elections, basically taking it away from the states,&#8221; he said.
Spakovsky, who has since joined Advancing American Freedom as a senior legal fellow, added, “It would change election rules to make it easier to cheat and easier to manipulate election results. And on the ethics and campaign finance rule changes, it&#8217;s designed to restrict and chill speech, political speech and political activity. So it&#8217;s just &#8230; this is one of the worst bills I&#8217;ve ever seen in my years in Washington.&#8221;

After leveraging a false claim that he witnessed the Israeli military shoot a child dead at an American-run aid site in the Gaza Strip for national attention, Anthony Aguilar is now running for political office.
Aguilar went viral last year with his claim that he saw a young Gazan boy named Amir “gunned down” by Israel’s military at a Trump administration-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid site. His tale landed him on major media outlets like NBC News, and on prominent podcasts, including two appearances on the Tucker Carlson Show. It also won him meetings with members of Congress, where he recounted the incident in vivid detail.
The Daily Wire, however, found <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-new-evidence-calls-into-question-viral-story-of-gazan-boy-amir-killed-at-ghf-aid-site">major inconsistencies in his story</a> and later confirmed that the incident never happened. In fact, the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-viral-story-of-gaza-child-gunned-down-by-israel-officially-debunked-the-boy-is-alive">child he claims was shot dead is alive</a>.
Now that his media tour has slowed down, Aguilar is running in North Carolina as a Green Party candidate.
“I stand with the 62% of Americans who want a choice outside the two-party establishment,” Aguilar told The Daily Wire. “By running as a Green, I can fight for the solutions people are literally dying for — like healthcare as a human right and an end to endless war—solutions the billionaire donors will not stand for.”
In July, Aguilar set the internet ablaze when he first began telling the story of the child he said was named “Amir.” The child&#8217;s name was actually Abdul Rahim Muhammad Hamden. According to Aguilar, he met the boy while working at a GHF aid site on May 28, only to watch him killed moments later. He told an emotional story of an intimate interaction with the boy before his death.
On a podcast, Aguilar said he told the boy, “People care. You’re a human being and people care about you.&#8221; He said that “Amir” responded by kissing him and saying thank you in English, before he walked away and was shot dead.
“He sets his food down, and he places his hands on my face — on the side of my face, on my cheeks — these frail, skeleton, emaciated hands, dirty. And he puts them on my face, and he kissed me. He kissed me, and he said, ‘Thank you,’ in English. Thank you. And he collected his items, and he walked back to the group, and then he was shot at with pepper spray and tear gas and stun grenades and bullets — shot at his feet and in the air — and he runs away, scared.”
Aguilar vividly recounted the same story on several large platforms, including MSNBC, the Tucker Carlson Show, and even <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?si=sByloGU3f60OfLFI&amp;v=cWVC5d4490Y&amp;feature=youtu.be" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in an interview</a> with a sitting Democrat senator, Maryland’s Chris Van Hollen.
<a href="https://x.com/tcnetwork/status/1951284710149333292?s=46&amp;t=o-U3qwC25WnWaylJ0oeG7Q" target="_blank" rel="noopener">On Carlson’s show</a>, released July 31, Aguilar went even further with the story, comparing the child to his own son and stating definitively that he saw the death first-hand.
“I see my son’s face when I look at him,” Aguilar said. “I didn’t get this second-hand. I didn’t see it from afar and then assume. I saw it. I touched it. I felt it.” He said “Amir” was killed by the Israel Defense Forces.
Almost none of what Aguilar said turned out to be true. In video footage from the day obtained by The Daily Wire, “Amir” was seen walking up to another security contractor next to Aguilar and kissing his hand. He then turns to Aguilar for a brief interaction — with none of the details Aguilar laid out taking place.

Aguilar continued to tell the fictional story in various interviews, and even added details. In an August 23 interview, Aguilar said the boy ran into a “wall of bullets” and that he suffered “a shot to the torso, a shot to the leg, dead.”
A few weeks later, The Daily Wire reported on video showing the boy was alive.

While NBC News took down its reporting on Aguilar&#8217;s claims and issued an on-air correction, Carlson has made no mention of Aguilar&#8217;s story falling apart. Aguilar, likewise, is presenting his false claim as a reason for people to vote for him.
He touts his status as a &#8220;whistleblower,&#8221; with no mention that his claims have been proven false.
“I became a whistleblower because I saw war crimes being committed,&#8221; Aguilar’s website states. “My decision to speak up was a choice to put integrity and the Constitution over silence. We need that same courage in Congress today to restore a clean democracy that answers to the people.”
On his campaign website, Aguilar emphasizes his experience as a Green Beret and touts the Sam Adams Award For Integrity he won for “demonstrating moral courage while serving as a security contractor in Gaza.”
Aguilar said he wants to replace Republican Rep. Brad Knott because Knott is “more concerned with partisan survival and pleasing the party establishment than addressing the urgent needs of working families.”
In September 2025, Aguilar was arrested for interrupting a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, shouting that the “United States government is complicit in genocide.”
“Off to jail,” Chairman Jim Risch (R-ID) responded at the time.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation commenced a search for the boy after Aguilar began telling his story in America, fearing that the child’s life was at risk due to Aguilar’s story. Aguilar&#8217;s story was being used as a propaganda tool by terrorist groups like Hamas, in an effort to undermine both Israel and U.S.-backed efforts to deliver food to Gazans.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation says Aguilar’s contract was terminated on June 13, and that it started to receive threats.  On June 22, for example, Aguilar wrote to a GHF employee: “I can be your best friend, or your worst nightmare. Stop F-ing around, put me back to work, and let’s get this mission done.”
Aguilar claims he was not fired, but resigned.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s electoral success last year is producing downstream effects on Democrats in the Empire State.
New York’s 17th District has a crowded field of Democrats vying to challenge GOP Rep. Mike Lawler, who is fighting for a third term in one of the most <a href="https://www.cookpolitical.com/house/race/483656">competitive</a> districts in the country. In order to survive a primary, Democratic candidates are struggling to balance between the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-tail-wagging-the-dog-progressives-dominate-democratic-politics-in-maine-and-beyond">influence</a> Mamdani and his socialist politics have had on the Democratic Party and the moderate appetites of general election voters.
Army combat veteran Cait Conley and Rockland County lawmaker Beth Davidson are <a href="https://www.politico.com/newsletters/new-york-playbook/2026/01/06/the-super-self-funder-in-ny-17-00712041">reputedly</a> the establishment picks of NY-17’s Democratic primary. Both were the only candidates invited from the district to attend a “candidate week” for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in November.
Conley and Davidson are facing a strong outside challenge from Briarcliff Manor Deputy Mayor Peter Chatzky, who made his fortune as founder and CEO of the small tech company Napa Group LLC. Chatzky is already one of the best-funded candidates in the country after <a href="https://www.lohud.com/story/news/politics/2026/01/07/ny-17-democrat-peter-chatzky-puts-up-own-money-in-crowded-primary-for-mike-lawler-seat/88050267007/">loaning</a> his campaign nearly $6 million.
Those three candidates and a handful of others are still collecting signatures to qualify for the Democratic primary scheduled for June 23. Ahead of the primary ballot being finalized, candidates have taken steps to avoid alienating the far-Left of the Democratic base on issues such as defunding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a broadly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/polls-deliver-clear-verdict-americans-back-trumps-deportation-agenda-reject-anti-ice-politics?author=Tim+Pearce&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=2&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Polls+Deliver+Clear+Verdict%3A+Americans+Back+Trump%E2%80%99s+Deportation+Agenda%2C+Reject+Anti-ICE+Politics">unpopular</a> stance.
The self-funded Chatzky, who claims to be a “pragmatic progressive,” <a href="https://x.com/peterchatzky/status/2015532998800613595">said</a> in a video last month that “it is time to abolish ICE.” His <a href="https://chatzkyforcongress.com/#priorities">website</a> also touts his support for “universal health insurance” and “universal pre-K.” His campaign site additionally contains a nod to the progressive values of “Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity.”
On all those issues and more, Chatzky’s platform overlaps with Mamdani. The New York City mayor’s endorsement has come up as somewhat of a litmus test for NY-17 Democrats, with none of them outright rejecting his potential support. In a sign of Mamdani’s direct influence on New York politics, Chatzky has also <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/01/26/us-news/ny-dem-hopefuls-who-dodged-publicly-aligning-with-mamdani-now-welcome-backing/">said</a> that he would “probably” accept an endorsement from Mamdani after previously dodging questions related to the self-described “Democratic socialist.”
“He’s energetic. He ran a very impressive campaign,” said Chatzky late last month. “He focused on affordability. It’s a problem in [Lawler’s] district as well.”
Davidson, in her position as a legislator, is attempting to make Rockland County a sanctuary region that would offer some amount of protection for illegal aliens. Davidson is pushing a piece of legislation that she calls the “Our Safety and Dignity for All Act,” which would restrict how local law enforcement and other government workers cooperate with federal immigration officers.
Davidson has become one of the leading faces of the push in Rockland County, which sits inside NY-17, to limit federal immigration enforcement. She has <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/rockland-county-ice-enforcement-safety-and-dignity-for-all-act/">pointed</a> to the recent clashes involving immigration officers in Minneapolis as the spark for the new law.
“The Safety and Dignity Act is intended to address those concerns while honoring state and federal and judicial warrants and following the law,” said Davidson this week.
She also gave a <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-safety-and-dignity-for-all-act-and-what-it/id1598985733?i=1000747782362">nod</a> to Mamdani in a recent podcast episode, highlighting the New York City mayor&#8217;s focus on “affordability” during his mayoral campaign as a central focus for her race as well.
But she has also kept her distance from Mamdani in what could be a tacit admission that Mamdani’s far-Left politics may not play well in the swing district of NY-17.
“I’m not seeking endorsements from elected officials from New York City,” said Davidson last month. She did not reject the possibility of an endorsement from the New York City mayor, however.
Conley has taken a similar line on a potential Mamdani endorsement: not seeking it, but not rejecting the democratic socialist, either. When asked last week whether she would welcome an endorsement from Mamdani, Conley said, &#8220;I think New York City is different than the Hudson Valley.”
She went on to state that she seeks to emulate parts of Mamdani’s campaign, however, such as his “young energy.”
“I respect what I believe Mamdani represents to so many people here in New York City, which is new leadership, which is young energy that isn’t afraid to tackle hard problems,” said Conley in an interview on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnAJP6pWYHI&amp;t=433s">PIX11</a>.
In the same interview, she appeared to struggle to answer a question on whether ICE should be defunded. When pressed, Conley said “abuses should be abolished” and ICE leadership held accountable. The Democratic candidate insisted that the focus on ICE is misplaced and that the real issue is executive branch accountability. She did not condemn calls within her party to abolish the agency.

New Hampshire Republicans have opened a nearly 50,000-voter registration advantage over Democrats as the Granite State heads toward the 2026 midterms, a shift that could reshape historically fluid federal and statewide races, even as the state’s electorate keeps a blue streak in national contests. 
New data from the state’s Secretary of State shows Republican enrollment topping 315,685 voters compared with 266,413 registered Democrats, giving the GOP a sizable edge heading into a series of tightly contested elections. While the numbers signal momentum for the GOP, New Hampshire’s electoral identity remains nuanced. The state has voted for the Democratic nominee in every presidential contest since 2004, including the 2024 race, in which Vice President Kamala Harris carried the state even as Republicans strengthened their control of the governorship and state legislature. 
Most striking is the size of the undeclared bloc. Nearly 375,000 Granite Staters lack formal party affiliation, outnumbering both major parties and allowing them to participate in either primary under New Hampshire’s semi-open system. Those voters have helped shape split outcomes in recent cycles, breaking for Democrats in federal contests and for Republicans down-ballot. 
The current registration gap is the product of a longer post-COVID trend. Since 2021, Republican enrollment in New Hampshire has steadily climbed, accelerating after the 2022 and 2024 election cycles, while Democratic registration has largely stagnated or declined modestly. State data shows Republicans have added more than 45,000 voters since late 2023 alone, while Democratic numbers have remained relatively flat over the same period. The growth has come largely at the expense of undeclared and inactive voters re-registering with the GOP, reflecting broader national shifts in party alignment following pandemic-era politics and cultural debates.
Republican strategists argue that a growing registration lead is more than cosmetic. In a 2025 briefing after the announced retirement of Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), the National Republican Senatorial Committee released a briefing on the chances of the future Senate race: “New Hampshire demonstrates a favorable political environment for Republicans in this toss-up Senate race. With a registration advantage, an edge on the generic ballot… Republicans are well positioned to flip this open Senate seat in New Hampshire regardless of who either party nominates.”
Democrats are not ignoring the trend: national party leaders have launched an ambitious voter registration drive to counter Republican gains in key states, acknowledging that shifts in party enrollment have eroded Democratic ground in recent cycles. Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin said large-scale registration efforts are needed to “chip away” at GOP advantages ahead of 2026. 
The implications of a GOP registration edge extend beyond registration rolls into competitive races. With Shaheen retiring, the open Senate seat is a high-profile target for Republicans. How Republicans and Democrats capitalize on voter-file shifts, mobilize independents, and generate turnout could ultimately decide not only the Senate contest but control of the state House and other federal seats.
New Hampshire’s electoral landscape remains uneven and hard to predict; a voter registration advantage for the GOP and firm Republican control at the state level, yet a history of Democratic success in federal contests and a sizable undeclared voting bloc. The coming months — from primaries through the midterms — should be a good test of whether party registration is a viable predictor of purple state tendencies going forward.

Five years ago, the big issue in America that showed the impaired judgment of Democrats was transgenderism. But the liberals don&#8217;t want to give up their mass migration strategy because they are counting on mass migration to fundamentally alter the demographics and the political order of America so that they can have a permanent electoral majority.
Which leads us to the protests over ICE.
Why are unhinged white liberal men and women going out and provoking cops to shoot them on behalf of protecting mass migration?

We were told for about five years that anyone who ever questions the legitimacy of elections is a terrible, insurrectionist traitor who needs to be thrown in solitary confinement.
And now Mark Warner, based on nothing, is already questioning the legitimacy of the 2026 and 2028 elections, including primaries.
It&#8217;s very strange, especially because when conservatives raised questions about the election in 2020, it was after the libs had changed all the election rules, in some cases illegally and unconstitutionally.
So there was this huge change. I think it was fair to question the elections in that specific, once in a lifetime circumstance where you just change all the election rules, you get rid of a lot of the protections that protect against fraud.
But before 2020, it was basically only the Democrats who questioned elections, and they questioned Bush v. Gore, taking that one all the way to the Supreme Court.
They didn&#8217;t really question in 2004 because Bush won it so handily. Then they won in 2008 and in 2012. They changed election rules in 2020. And now, just after the 2024 election, they&#8217;re already saying 2026 and 2028 are going to be rigged.

So, it means they&#8217;re probably not feeling as good about the upcoming elections as they previously did. Also, they&#8217;re trying to set the stage for political violence, for political unrest. That&#8217;s why these riots are happening now.
Notice, the riots weren&#8217;t happening in the first part of the year with the Trump administration. You had mass deportations almost immediately and they weren&#8217;t really kicking up then. Well, it&#8217;s kicking up now that we&#8217;re looking ahead to the midterms, and they probably started it a little too early. Winter is not the best time to riot, especially when the libs who are too sensitive don&#8217;t like the cold that much.
But that&#8217;s what this is about. The reason the unrest is kicking up almost immediately after 2026 begins is because this is all about the elections they want to win. They have two objectives here: First, they want to create great instability that will allow them to exert more control over elections, which always opens up the question of fraud. Second, they want to make a threat. And the threat is: we&#8217;re going to keep violently rioting if we don&#8217;t get our way.
That&#8217;s what they&#8217;re after. It&#8217;s all about elections.
We will see if their strategy works. As an issue, however, the immigration matter works well for the GOP. Republicans are completely on the right side of immigration by basically any public opinion poll.
In terms of the political violence, though, the Left just might be able to ram their way through.
That remains to be seen.

Over the weekend, famed rapper Nicki Minaj posted a message on X that went astonishingly viral, with 55 million views, in which she decried the efforts of leftists to quash the idea of voter ID, which would require voters to show a photo identification to vote.

As a CNN poll revealed on Tuesday, the vast majority of Americans agree with her.
“The American people are with Nicki Minaj,” CNN pollster Harry Enten declared. “I got all this polling on the screen going back since 2018. You&#8217;ll notice on all of it, it&#8217;s all north of 75 percent, 76 percent, 76 percent, 76 percent, 81 percent, and then 83 percent in the last year of Americans. Agree with Nicki Minaj, they favor photo ID to be able to vote.&#8221;
“What about by party? What&#8217;s the party breakdown?” CNN anchor John Berman asked.
“Normally you might expect, hey, there&#8217;d be a big divide by party with Republicans really for it and Democrats really against it,” Enten replied. “But not really here. I mean just take a look here, favor photo ID to vote. You got 95 percent of Republicans, pretty much all of them, but even 71 percent of Democrats favor photo ID to vote. So again, Nicki Minaj posting that on X. And what you see is, is that the American people — actually it&#8217;s not really all that controversial. The American people are with Nicki Minaj, whether they are Republican or even if they are Democrats. We&#8217;re talking about seven in ten Democrats agreeing with Nicki Minaj that you, in fact, should show a voter photo ID to vote.”
“I think a lot of people make the argument that people of color, nonwhite Americans, have a harder time procuring a photo I.D. to vote,” Enten continued. “But even here, take a look here, favor photo ID to vote. Eighty-five percent of white people favor it. Eighty-two percent of Latinos. Seventy-six percent of black Americans favor it.”
“So, the bottom line is this: voter I.D. is not controversial in this country,” Enten asserted. “A photo ID to vote is not controversial in this country. It is not controversial by party, and it is not controversial by race. The vast majority of Americans agree with Nicki Minaj that, in fact, you should have a photo ID to be able to vote.”
