Artemis II pilot Victor Glover delivered a powerful message of faith as he and his fellow astronauts traveled toward the moon, praising God&#8217;s creation ahead of the Easter holiday.
Glover, a devout Christian, said that traveling into space had given him a whole new perspective on his faith, the earth, and the universe — all of which God had made for his final creations: humans.

&#8220;As we are so far from earth and looking back at the beauty of creation, and I think the — for me, one of the really important personal perspectives that I have up here is I can really see earth as one thing,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You know, when I read the Bible and I look at all of the amazing things that were done for us, who were created, it&#8217;s — you have this amazing place, this spaceship, you guys are talking to us because we&#8217;re in a spaceship really far from earth.&#8221;
Glover then flipped the analogy on its head, saying that in a way, earth itself was the &#8220;spaceship&#8221; from which all of humanity viewed the universe.
&#8220;You&#8217;re on a spaceship called Earth that was created to give us a place to live in the universe, in the cosmos,&#8221; he explained. &#8220;Maybe the distance we are from you makes you think what we&#8217;re doing is special, but we&#8217;re the same distance from you, and I&#8217;m trying to tell you, just trust me, you are special.&#8221;
Glover concluded by pointing out that in all the vastness of the universe — most of which was defined more by the empty space than the physical objects that inhabit parts of it — humans had been given one small planet in one small solar system in one small galaxy, and had used that to create incredible things.
&#8220;In all of this emptiness, this is a whole bunch of nothing, this thing we call the universe, you have this oasis, this beautiful place that we get to exist together,&#8221; he added, as the other members of his crew nodded along. &#8220;So I think as we go into Easter Sunday thinking about all the cultures all around the world, whether you celebrate it or not, whether you believe in God or not, this is an opportunity for us to remember where we are, who we are, and that we are the same thing and we&#8217;ve gotta get through this together.&#8221;

For most Christians who observe Lent, the 40-day period before Easter is a time of prayer and fasting, often from an indulgence such as sugar, alcohol, or time on social media. But for some young men, a month and a half of abstention from creature comforts is not enough. Catholic men across the country are spending three months taking cold showers, praying for an hour each day, and giving up sugar, alcohol, and excess screen time all at once.
Aidan Kunath, a 30-year-old dad from Cincinnati, has been doing the Exodus 90 challenge with a group of guys for four years now. He heard about it from a friend and decided to try it out with other men from the International Order of Alhambra, a Catholic fraternal group of which he is a member. This year, 14 men are doing the challenge with him, several of whom have done it all four years as well. The point of the program, Aidan told The Daily Wire, is “trying to live a life intentionally that opens you up to a better relationship with God.”
Jamie Baxter founded Exodus 90 in 2015 after a <a href="https://www.yescatholic.com/stories/jamiebaxter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">literal mountaintop</a> experience in college. His parents converted to Catholicism when he was a child, and his father inspired Baxter at the end of a grueling hike to pursue the faith in a powerful way. He <a href="https://exodus90.com/why-we-exist/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">founded</a> Exodus 90 so men can “become who they are, more like who they have been created to be by their Heavenly Father.”
Men across America are looking for direction. When Netflix documentaries and countless op-eds are decrying the toxic “manosphere,” yet the broader culture seems to want to dismiss men or turn them into women, Exodus 90 may be more relevant than ever.
So what is it, exactly? The program consists of 90 days of prayer, fellowship, and asceticism — a time of giving up easy, comfortable things to leave more space to focus on faith.
“It is normal for men to be distracted, addicted, and enslaved by so many things today,” the program’s website <a href="https://exodus90.com/why-we-exist/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a> in a mission statement. “Alcohol. Pornography. Social media. Sports. Gambling. Work. Comparison. Achievement. Wealth. Legacy. It is so normal, in fact, that society’s stereotypes of men are often associated with the very idols that plague them. What is uncommon in our time is men who are free.”
Jamie’s brother, Doyle Baxter, head of product at Exodus 90, credits the program with bringing him out of substance abuse and back to faith. What he initially saw as a “creative, entrepreneurial endeavor” became a transformative experience for him in 2017.
“My own Exodus experience is very much one of coming to the program seeking its freedom from the pharaohs who lorded over me and ultimately finding it,” he told The Daily Wire.
The Exodus 90 site <a href="https://exodus90.com/why-we-exist/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claims</a> that as many as 250,000 men in 80 countries have gone through the program. Doyle says that although almost 90% of the participants are Catholic, participants come from various backgrounds. One of his favorite groups that he has been in included two Catholics, two protestants, two atheists, and two agnostics. “It remains probably the most powerful fraternal experience I’ve had,” he says. “Everybody was approaching that with their own different and unique perspectives.”
Participants pay for an app, which has two tiers, with the basic tier offering scripture readings and reflections, guidance through Exodus 90 and other seasonal challenges, and spiritual guides and resources. The website offers student discounts, a contact for those who cannot afford the $90/year basic fee, and an offer of your money back “if you do not experience greater freedom.”
To achieve that freedom, the men will give up a lot, including “snacking between meals,” “unnecessary purchases,” and eating meat on Wednesdays and Fridays.
“The one that gets a big headline for a lot of people is cold showers,” Aidan says. “You start in January, and we’re in Cincinnati, so the water’s pretty cold. That’s the one that can really drag on you. The big thing I emphasize with my guys, though, is the disciplines are only there to build this relationship with God. They’re closing things to open up the door to your relationship with God.”
There can be exceptions to the rules, though. “You’re going to run into situations where you’re gonna have to break them not to be socially weird,” Aidan says. “If you go out with your wife to celebrate something, don’t just make her get a dessert and stare at her judgmentally.” Aidan says otherwise slipping up on the restrictions is not a big deal, but the most important thing is to get that full hour of prayer.
Strict or not, these rules are not about self-help.
“One of the things that is so important to understand about Exodus is that from the outside, it’s really easy to have a straw-man perspective of what we’re up to,” Doyle says. “Especially in the men’s space today, there can be this perception that you are just doing hard things because they’re hard. We try to go much deeper than what might be apparent on the surface. We don’t talk about discipline as much as we talk about asceticism. We’re talking about taking up practices that are not primarily about becoming a more disciplined person; they’re about being a more Christlike person.”
Importantly, this challenge isn’t meant to be done alone. The program encourages daily check-ins with one partner in the group and weekly meetings with the whole cohort (the official site recommends six to eight people).
“I think that’s a big thing that’s missing from Catholic men and fraternity, the idea of men in community,” Aidan says. “I don’t think there are a lot of opportunities where we can actually talk to each other in that serious way.”
He says the men in his group don’t just talk about the challenge, but about their marriages, their prayer lives, and other personal subjects. And there are fight club rules: “One big dynamic of the group is whatever is shared within the group, you can’t talk about outside of the group,” Aidan says. “I think having that opens up a lot of guys.”
Getting through the time-consuming, intensive program is no small feat, which is why, at the end of Lent every year, Aidan and his group start celebrating at midnight on Easter morning. After Easter Vigil at their local parish, they throw a party at Aidan’s brother’s house, complete with cereal, sweets, and beer. Aidan’s treat of choice is Cap&#8217;N Crunch Crunch Berries.
Already looking forward to next year, Aidan says his group is unique in the number of men who have done the program year after year. He says a lot of guys see Exodus 90 like basic training: a tough exercise that you complete just once. “But based on my experience with previous Exoduses — and I think the human experience, right? — it’s very easy if you’re not guarded to lose that prayer practice pretty quickly,” he says. “Exodus, at least for us, refreshes it.”

The city of Houston&#8217;s official X account deleted a post referring to Good Friday as a “spring holiday” after backlash from government officials and others on the platform.
“Due to the Spring holiday weekend, City of Houston offices will be closed on Friday, April 3,” the now-deleted post said.
“Today is Good Friday. Sunday is Easter. It isn’t a ‘Spring holiday weekend,’” Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) wrote in response. “It’s a time when Christians across the nation reflect on the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The City of Houston should be ashamed.”

“Wishing those who celebrate, a joyful and blessed Eid al-Fitr,” the Houston Mayor’s Office account posted in acknowledgment of the Muslim holiday. “May this occasion bring peace, prosperity, and renewed gratitude.”
At the time of publication, the city had not yet posted anything recognizing Easter other than a <a href="https://x.com/HoustonHealth/status/2040125982430880089">repost</a> from the city&#8217;s health department warning about the risks of contracting bird flu while handling eggs. The account has recognized Easter in previous years. The city has also posted about the Muslim holiday Ramadan.
Republican state Rep. Tom Oliverson called the difference in the city’s posts “embarrassing.”
“Be better,” Oliverson <a href="https://x.com/TomOliverson/status/2040067814342406459">wrote</a> on X. “Today is Good Friday, not Spring Holiday.”
The city&#8217;s post is still up on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DWocJjeid5G/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D">Instagram</a>, with the vast majority of comments on that platform also criticizing the city’s wording.
“Spring Holiday” is listed as an official city holiday on Houston’s <a href="https://www.houstontx.gov/events/cityholidays.html">calendar</a> that falls on Good Friday. In 2027, “Spring Holiday” — and Good Friday — will fall on March 26.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth shook things up at the Pentagon during Holy Week when he fired several top generals — including Major General William Green Jr. the U.S. Army chief of chaplains.
Green&#8217;s job as the Army chief of chaplains is to advise the Army Chief of Staff on issues of religion and morality, as well as to oversee the Army Chaplain Corps — and he was three years into what would normally be a four-year term when Hegseth removed him from the role.
Green served as an enlisted soldier prior to becoming an ordained minister, and has served as a chaplain in the Army since the 1990s. His promotion to Major General was recent, according to <a href="https://www.military.com/daily-news/headlines/2026/04/02/army-chief-forced-out-iran-war-hits-new-phase.html">Military.com</a>, and he had become the Army chief of chaplains in 2023.
While no official reason has been given for Green&#8217;s termination — marking the first time that an Army chief of chaplains has been fired since the position was created under the National Defense Act of 1920 — Hegseth had previously voiced his displeasure with Green&#8217;s Army Spiritual Fitness Guide, published in 2025.
The <a href="https://www.militaryatheists.org/regs/ArmyFM7-22_subv202507-SF-Guide.pdf">112-page guide</a> — and accompanying Battle Book — featured &#8220;secular-inclusive&#8221; principles aimed at encouraging resilience and strength. It was written to be a part of the Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness program (H2F), for which development began in 2024 during former Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin&#8217;s tenure.
The guide was published in August of 2025, and Hegseth disliked it so much that he ordered the War Department to scrap it entirely by December, less than six months after it was implemented.
&#8220;It mentions God one time. That’s it. It mentions feelings 11 times. It even mentions playfulness, whatever that is, nine times,&#8221; Hegseth said at the time, complaining that in the military, &#8220;chaplains have been minimized, viewed by many as therapists instead of ministers.&#8221;
The guide was summarily <a href="https://www.army.mil/article/287513/spiritual_fitness_battlebook_equips_soldiers_with_tools_for_inner_resilience">scrubbed</a> from the Army&#8217;s website.
Two other top generals were removed the same week: Gen. David Hodne, a former Army Ranger in charge of the Army’s Transformation and Training Command, and Army Chief of Staff Gen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hegseth-removes-armys-top-general-asks-him-to-retire-immediately">Randy A. George</a>.

For Christians, Easter is not just another holiday. It is the central event of history: the day death was defeated, and the stone was rolled away.
In Jerusalem, in 33 AD, there was a violent earthquake. An angel rolled back the stone from Jesus’ tomb and said to the women gathered there: “Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said.” In that moment, everything changed. The Son of God won victory over death and secured salvation for all mankind.
Easter changed reality itself. It is the feast of feasts. The solemnity of solemnities. The highest and most important day in the Christian faith. For billions of Christians across centuries, that truth has shaped not only private belief, but culture, law, art, family life, and civilization itself.
That’s why we’ve introduced the Easter Monday Act, which would make the day following Easter a federal holiday. Currently, we have federal holidays on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and many other wonderful celebrations. But as Easter always falls on a Sunday, we don’t set aside a day of celebration in federal law.
This is a problem, first and foremost, because the law is a teacher. It gradually habituates people, either toward the good, true, and beautiful or toward the bad, false, and ugly. There is no neutral. Law is not simply administrative or procedural, it shapes our very soul as a nation.
The current public calendar does not reflect Easter’s importance in the lives of millions of Americans. Our bill acknowledges Easter’s singular and extraordinary importance and makes it clear to millions of Americans that honoring the Resurrected Christ is a national priority.
This isn’t radical or partisan. More than 80% of Americans celebrate Easter. The United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Australia, and Canada all celebrate Easter Monday as a public holiday.

Passing the Easter Monday Act would also have many practical benefits.
Currently, our law forces millions of American families who travel to celebrate Easter to rush home on Sunday to make it to work the next day. Adding to the chaos, many schools already give students Easter Monday off, which leaves working parents scrambling for childcare.
This bill fixes these problems. We envision giving families the breathing room to be truly present with their relatives, in their churches, and at their dinner tables.
That omission is especially striking for another reason: March and April are the only consecutive two-month block on the federal calendar without a legal public holiday, while Easter falls every year somewhere in that exact span. Easter Monday would fill that gap in a way that is both natural and rooted in the country’s deepest traditions, benefiting all Americans.
Most importantly, though, the Easter Monday Act will serve as a reminder that just as Christ continued appearing to his apostles for 40 days after his resurrection, our celebration of Easter does not end at the stroke of midnight.
That is one reason this legislation matters. It is modest, but it points in the right direction. It says that our public life should not be embarrassed by the Christian faith that helped shape our nation. It says that Christianity’s most sacred day deserves more than a hurried Sunday followed by a Monday morning scramble. And it says that families should have the space to mark Easter as something more than a weekend interruption.
Moreover, now is the perfect time to send that message, as we approach Easter Sunday.
In seven years, the world will mark the 2,000th anniversary of the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When that moment arrives, it will be one of the most consequential events in the history of Christianity — a cause for tremendous celebration.
This anniversary should be an occasion for all Christians to come together and renew confidence in the faith that saved the world, the moral inheritance that shaped Western civilization, and the unique freedom in Christ that helped Americans create the most free and noble nation on earth.
Passing the Easter Monday Act represents a recognition of that tremendous opportunity — and a first step toward grasping the call the Lord has given our great nation.

The Trump administration thanked Israel for taking steps to ensure that Catholic Church officials still had access to Christian sites during Holy Week after a back-and-forth over access to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday that the Trump administration had intially expressed &#8220;concern&#8221; after the Palm Sunday incident, but said they appreciated steps taken by Israeli police to resolve the conflict.
&#8220;We did express our concerns with Israel, with respect to these holy sites being shut down. We want worshipers to be able to access these holy sites,&#8221; Leavitt said during Monday&#8217;s press briefing. &#8220; Of course, safety is a top priority, but we understand Israel is working on those security measures to reopen the sites throughout Holy Week, and that&#8217;s something that we&#8217;re appreciative of.&#8221;
Earlier on Monday, Catholic Church authorities and Israeli police said Monday they had “resolved” a dispute to allow access to religious sites in Jerusalem. 
The announcement comes after officials representing the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Custody of the Holy Land <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/israel-blocks-catholic-cardinal-from-holy-site-on-palm-sunday-over-safety-concerns?author=Drew+Berkemeyer&amp;category=undefined&amp;elementPosition=3&amp;row=3&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+News&amp;rowType=Vertical+Carousel&amp;title=Israel+Blocks+Catholic+Cardinal+From+Holy+Site+On+Palm+Sunday+Over+Safety+Concerns">said</a> police blocked them from celebrating Palm Sunday Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Israeli authorities pointed to safety concerns, noting that shrapnel from Iranian missile attacks had fallen near the church in recent days. 
Israeli police said “a mutual framework has been established for upcoming Easter ceremonies,” adding that events would be scaled back.
“Due to the complex security reality of Operation ‘Roaring Lion,’ ceremonies including the ‘Holy Fire’ will be held in a symbolic, limited format,&#8221; police said. &#8220;This coordination ensures that freedom of worship is maintained alongside our shared, primary duty: the protection of human life.”
Officials added that Iranian missile debris had recently impacted areas within Jerusalem&#8217;s Old City, prompting restrictions.

The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Custody of the Holy Land also released a statement saying “that the matters concerning the Holy Week and Easter celebrations at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre have been addressed and resolved in coordination with the relevant authorities.”
They added that, given the ongoing war, limits on public gatherings will remain in place, with services &#8220;broadcast live to the faithful in the Holy Land and throughout the world.&#8221;
“It is our hope that appropriate arrangements will continue to be found, enabling prayer to take place in places of worship, particularly in the Holy Places of all religions, in a manner that respects both legitimate safety needs and the religious observances and prayers that are of profound importance to hundreds of millions of believers,&#8221; the statement said.

Touting the success of &#8220;The Haute Potato Collection&#8221; at New York City&#8217;s Fashion Week — a collection based on the iconic potato sack dress worn by actress Marilyn Monroe in 1951 — PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk promised the first lady a reimagined — and far more glamorous — potato sack creation for the White House&#8217;s Easter festivities.
&#8220;We would be delighted to present you with a unique dress created from vintage Idaho potato sacks—like those recently featured during New York Fashion Week (inspired by the potato sack dress famously worn by Marilyn Monroe) if you’ll redesign the White House Easter Egg Roll to become the White House Easter Potato Roll, a fabulously modern move,&#8221; Newkirk wrote.
She went on to note that Trump had the opportunity to influence the way people looked at Easter eggs going forward — and could open the door for more families viewing potatoes as a reasonable alternative.
&#8220;As first lady, you have tremendous influence to elevate and reimagine outdated customs such as this and to add a patriotic angle that has been lacking,&#8221; Newkirk continued, arguing that potatoes could be dyed and decorated in the same way that eggs have been — and that they lend themselves to additional activities — &#8220;like sack races and &#8216;hot potato&#8217; games.&#8221;
&#8220;Swapping out eggs for potatoes would feel not only patriotic and familiar but also delightfully new, offering children the same hands-on fun while reflecting the core Christian value of kindness to all creation in the time of Easter renewal and joy,&#8221; she added.
The annual Easter Egg Roll typically uses approximately 30,000 hard-boiled eggs, most of which are small to medium in size and not usually packaged for retail. They are donated for the event by the American Egg Board.

I believe that America’s core ideals are very much linked to its Christian faith. So as Easter has just passed, I thought this would be a good time to take a closer look at the state of the American church and then weep quietly and say it was a great country while it lasted.
Now, according to a Pew poll, 62% of Americans identify as Christian. This is a slight drop from the 1697 poll which showed 99.9% of Americans were Christian with one heretic hiding in the woods hoping some long-haired guy with a buckle on his hat wouldn’t blow his head off with a blunderbuss.
But today’s religious landscape looks different depending on political affiliation. For instance, on the political Left, 43% of those who identify as progressives say they have abandoned Christianity and become Episcopalians. Fourteen percent of progressives say they have renounced the corrupt beliefs of colonizing white men, have returned to the innocent and beautiful natural religion of indigenous peoples, and were preparing to sacrifice a virgin to the volcano God until they realized that by the time they were sure she was a virgin, she wasn’t a virgin anymore, and if they threw her into a volcano there’d be no one left who knew how to make breakfast.
Other progressives say they are sick of the sort of restrictive religions that ruined the 1950’s by making everything so great. Instead they have turned to more modern faiths with practices that reflect the moral progress of mankind. These practices include yogic meditation, ritual mindfulness, and tantric sex followed by butchering any unborn babies conceived during tantric sex, then celebrating the mass slaughter by dancing around a pole in a wild blood-drenched frenzy, getting a full body tattoo featuring goat-headed demi-gods with flaming eyes, then running naked through a forest while grunting inarticulately and listening to music that’s mostly composed of drumbeats and shrieking because classic rock is just the best.

Among Christians on the political Right, 17% say they believe in Christ so hard they’ll kill anyone who disagrees with them, 14% say their faith is so strong they might even be willing to go to church as long as porn is provided, and 8% say their worship mostly involves posting unspeakably cruel remarks on social media to people who aren’t as Christly as they are. Four percent of conservative Christians say they have abandoned their own egos for Christ’s sake and have thus elevated their souls into a state of suffering-yet-serene agape love, and are now hiding in the woods hoping some long-haired guy with a buckle on his hat won’t blow their heads off with a blunderbuss.
The remaining 57% of Right-wing Christians spend most of their time sobbing and whispering, “Oh God, I suck so bad, please, please, please have mercy on me and don’t send me to hell or California.”
As far as other American religions go, 94% of limousine drivers identify as Muslims, 16% of Christian women pretend they’re Buddhists, and 82% of Jews control 90% of everything except which parts of Ivy League campuses they’re allowed to walk on without one of their professors pointing at them and making that awful insect noise like Donald Sutherland at the end of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.”
Approximately 29% of Americans have no religion whatsoever and they say that makes life much easier because they&#8217;re able to rotate their heads 360 degrees and spider walk across the ceiling, which comes in very handy when they’re trying to escape from the exorcist.
Around the world, the religious landscape is much more varied. For instance, in Great Britain, while 47% of the people identify as Christian, 70% of them say that Islam is also absolutely great, totally fine, really wonderful and not a problem at all, no, really, it’s fantastic, they’re not just saying that because they’d be arrested for telling the truth.
In France, 49% of the population were excited because they thought they belonged to a dark, obscure, mystery cult with elaborate secret rituals until they found out they were actually just Catholics.
And in China, 23% of high-ranking Communists identify their kidneys as Uiger.

The state of Washington, which does not officially recognize Easter or Yom Kippur as state holidays, became the first state in the nation to recognize the two Islamic holidays of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha as unpaid state-recognized holidays when Democrat Governor Bob Ferguson <a href="https://tvw.org/video/governor-bob-ferguson-bill-signing-2025041217/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed the legislation into law</a> this month.
“<a href="https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=5106&amp;Year=2025&amp;Initiative=false" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senate Bill 5106</a>, sponsored by Sen. Yasmin Trudeau (D-Tacoma), adds both Eid holidays to a list of 20 other state holidays. Rep. Osman Salahuddin (D-Redmond) sponsored the companion bill,” Ferguson’s <a href="https://governor.wa.gov/news/2025/governor-bob-ferguson-signs-historic-bill-officially-recognizing-eid-holidays" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a> stated. “The new law does not establish Eid holidays as paid holidays, but rather adds them to the state’s list of recognized observances, similar to Lunar New Year or Billy Frank Jr. Day.”
“This bill is historic. Washington is now the first state to recognize Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha as state holidays,” Ferguson boasted on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/WaStateGov/posts/this-bill-is-historic-washington-is-now-the-first-state-to-recognize-eid-al-fitr/1249708376510712/?locale=en_GB">Facebook</a>.
According to the Washington state legislature’s <a href="https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=1.16.050" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a>, other unpaid holidays officially recognized by the state include:

WASHINGTON—First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald Trump partook in one of the oldest White House traditions on Monday morning as they hosted the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. 
The president and first lady greeted their guests from the Blue Room Balcony overlooking the South Lawn, where staff had prepared games and activities for the brightly colored families in attendance. An estimated 30,000 people attended Monday&#8217;s event, according to a member of the First Lady&#8217;s team.
The Daily Wire spotted a number of high-profile Trump administration attendees, including White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, dressed in a long blue lace dress, and accompanied by her husband and her infant son. Stephen Miller and his wife and children also attended the event, as did National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and his wife, FBI Director Kash Patel, and others.
&#8220;We&#8217;re honoring Jesus Christ and we&#8217;re going to honor Jesus Christ very powerfully throughout our lives,&#8221; promised Trump, as he spoke from the Blue Room Balcony. &#8220;Not just now, all throughout our lives. We&#8217;re bringing religion back in America.&#8221;
Trump also said that he signed an executive order ordering the flags of the United States at half-mast in honor of Pope Francis, who passed away on Monday morning. &#8220;He was a good man, worked hard. He loved the world. And it&#8217;s an honor to do that.&#8221;

The day&#8217;s festivities included the famous egg roll, a relay race where the children roll eggs across the lawn; a &#8220;Be Best Military Card Writing Station&#8221; that included coloring; a &#8220;Be Best Hopscotch,&#8221; and the Reading Nook, where Melania Trump read aloud to a large group from the children&#8217;s book &#8220;Bunny With A Big Heart.&#8221;
The president took questions from the media as he entered the event, joking about the 2022 event where the Easter Bunny appeared to lead President Joe Biden to his appropriate spot as the president looked confused and lost.
“Remember when the bunny took Joe Biden out?&#8221; asked Trump, leaning close to the Easter Bunny as he added, &#8220;He’s not taking Trump out!&#8221;
&#8220;That was a beautiful moment,&#8221; he added. &#8220;When the bunny saved Joe Biden.”
His wife laughed and smiled, and moved on to interact with the children, who gathered around her and chatted with the First Lady. She focused on the activities and the children throughout the course of her time at the Easter Egg roll, only interacting with the media once to express condolences over Pope Francis&#8217;s death.
Trump, meanwhile, spoke with reporters several times in between coloring with the children, high-fiving youngsters, and complimenting his wife: &#8220;You know who she is?&#8221; he asked the children. &#8220;First Lady of the United States of America!”
The president joined a table full of youngsters coloring, focusing on coloring his own picture. He looked up and said emphatically, &#8220;I&#8217;m really into this!&#8221; to the delight of those around him.

Many of the activities are part of Melania Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Be Best&#8221; campaign, focused on the importance of social, emotional, and physical health of children. Mrs. Trump started this campaign during the first Trump administration and continues to focus her energy on the project. The Hopscotch at the event, for example, was decorated with eggs that read &#8220;brave,&#8221; &#8220;caring,&#8221; &#8220;smart,&#8221; or &#8220;kind.&#8221;

On Sunday, President Donald Trump marked Easter with a Truth Social post that paired festive greetings with his signature irreverent tone.
The <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114370361342759621" target="_blank" rel="noopener">missive</a> featured references to illegal immigration, judicial <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bondi-says-the-real-constitutional-crisis-is-judicial-lawfare-not-trump-exec-actions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawfare</a>, the 2020 election, and former President Joe Biden&#8217;s controversial use of an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-pardons-signed-autopen-on-vacation-watchdog-finds" target="_blank" rel="noopener">autopen</a> to sign official documents.
&#8220;Happy Easter to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting and scheming so hard to bring Murderers, Drug Lords, Dangerous Prisoners, the Mentally Insane, and well known MS-13 Gang Members and Wife Beaters, back into our Country,&#8221; Trump said.
