<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">More importantly, she’s worked for two-plus decades in Hollywood. If you go against the Hollywood orthodoxy, however, you could lose work. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Hollywood Blacklist 2.0 is very real. Just ask stars like Kevin Sorbo, Antonio Sabato, Jr., and Tim Allen. They’ve all experienced various levels of cancellation for embracing a Right-leaning worldview.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Superstar podcaster Joe Rogan is one of the few industry types to acknowledge that truth. He shared some </span><a href="https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/joe-rogan-blacklist-conservatives/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">behind-the-scenes</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> reflections on his signature podcast in February.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“There’s a certain ideology that’s attached to that city, and it’s not logical. It’s a kooky, wacky, completely insulated left-wing view of the world, and they enforce it with an iron fist.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“And if you’re not on that team you don’t get booked for things. You don’t get picked for things. If you’re someone who has conservative leanings there’s projects you’re never gonna get. You’re never gonna be involved … they’ll malign you without knowing you at all, [and are] openly prejudiced about you. So no one does it.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">De Matteo recently told Donald Trump Jr.&#8217;s </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sopranos-actress-says-people-in-hollywood-are-too-petrified-to-cross-liberals-on-social-issues"><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Triggered” podcast</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> why few stars speak out against the Biden administration.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some actively support the 81-year-old leader, like Stephen Colbert and Steven Spielberg. Colbert helped Biden raise money for Biden at a high-profile fundraiser last month. The Oscar-winning director is shaping this summer&#8217;s </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-turns-to-steven-spielberg-for-messaging-strategy-as-poll-numbers-lag"><span style="font-weight: 400;">DNC Convention in Chicago.</span></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Others who might bristle at Biden’s inflation spike, porous border, and inability to call out the anti-Semitism roiling the country bite their tongue.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">They don&#8217;t wanna get </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sopranos-actress-says-people-in-hollywood-are-too-petrified-to-cross-liberals-on-social-issues" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">professionally whacked</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, she says.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“This administration has just been hammering all of these things and people in Hollywood are petrified… What, are you going to speak out against race, and sex, and all of that stuff?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“People are afraid to have those conversations, because first of all, you never win with a liberal. You’re just never gonna win.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">De Matteo has essentially cut ties with Hollywood. She infamously created an OnlyFans account to help pay the bills, and she’s now willing to criticize both her former industry and Democrats now that she’s essentially retired as an actress.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">They can’t whack her any more, but is she exaggerating?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We’ve seen two examples where a star dared to defy Hollywood groupthink and may have paid the price later.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ellen DeGeneres stood atop the Hollywood world via her beloved chat show “Ellen.” And then she made the “mistake” of being friendly to former President George W. Bush. The two chatted at a Dallas Cowboys home game in late 2019, and the progressive blowback to the news stunned the lesbian activist and comic.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">She addressed the reaction on her show, and </span><a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ellen-degeneres-defends-george-w-bush-friendship-cowboys-game-tweets-monologue-2019-10-08/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">she didn’t back down</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;When I say be kind to one another, I don&#8217;t mean be kind to the people who think the same way you do. I mean be kind to everyone.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That was the fall of 2019.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Less than a year later, DeGeneres’ career collapsed. Industry insiders began leaking to the press how the “Ellen” show created a toxic workplace environment. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The murmurs caught fire and the star with the nicest on-screen persona lost her bulletproof brand. She eventually left the program in 2022 and only recently resurfaced.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Would former and current “Ellen” staffers have leaked damaging reports about the star had she not enraged some of her loyal supporters? Was this punishment for reaching across the aisle in a very public fashion?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maybe. Possibly. It’s unclear.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">More recently, superstar Dwayne Johnson made a shocking confession. He told Fox News – Faux Noise! – that he wouldn&#8217;t be endorsing </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dwayne-the-rock-johnson-says-hes-unhappy-with-state-of-america-will-not-endorse-biden-again" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">President Joe Biden</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> as he did in 2020. He didn’t want to divide the nation, and he preferred to let the American public have its say without his input.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">He also indirectly threw Biden under the bus during a tight election cycle.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Am I happy with the state of America right now? Well, that answer is no.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That was in early April. A few weeks later, TheWrap.com published a blistering expose alleging Johnson </span><a href="https://www.thewrap.com/dwayne-johnson-red-one-late-budget-problems/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">repeatedly showed up to work late</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> – very late – on the set of his upcoming film “Red One.” That tardiness was reportedly up to eight hours.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That was on days when he showed up at all.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The investigation featured other damning tidbits, like how fellow A-lister Ryan Reynolds argued with Johnson over his tardy ways and how the ex-WWE star would urinate in bottles on set and have his handlers dispose of them.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The studio behind the film has </span><a href="https://www.tmz.com/2024/04/30/the-rock-ryan-reynolds-clash-netflix-red-notice-late-tardiness/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">denied the allegations</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Johnson hasn’t addressed them directly via his X social media feed. TMZ reports that Reynolds and Johnson did clash about the latter’s tardiness but eventually made amends.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The report’s timing sure is … interesting.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Johnson has enjoyed a sterling reputation in and outside of Hollywood up until now. Hard-working. Talented. Driven. Versatile.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This report is a direct attack on that brand. Is it a coincidence it went public weeks after the superstar refused to back Biden’s re-election campaign?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maybe. Possibly. It’s unclear.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Breitbart News’ John Nolte noted that some of the material in TheWrap.com expose dates back to 2020 when Reynolds and Johnson teamed for “Red Notice.” So, Nolte asked, </span><a href="https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2024/04/30/nolte-dwayne-johnson-blasted-hit-piece-just-weeks-after-refusing-endorse-biden/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">why is it resurfacing now?</span></a></p>

<p>After endorsing President Joe Biden&#8217;s run against former President Donald Trump in 2020, actor and WWE star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dwayne-johnson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dwayne Johnson</a> said he will not throw public support behind the president in the 2024 election.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Rock&#8221; told &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends&#8221; Friday morning that while he thought endorsing Biden in 2020 was &#8220;the best decision for me at that time,&#8221; he&#8217;s now unhappy with the current state of the U.S.</p>
<p>&#8220;Am I happy with the state of America right now? Well, that answer is no,&#8221; Johnson said. &#8220;Do I believe we&#8217;re going to get better? I believe in that. I&#8217;m an optimistic guy.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one that I thought was the best decision for me at that time,&#8221; he added. &#8220;And I thought back then &#8230; &#8216;Hey, I&#8217;m in this position where I have some influence,&#8217; &#8230; and I felt like that then that it&#8217;s my job to exercise my influence and share with [people] this is who I&#8217;m going to endorse. Am I going to do that again this year? That answer is no.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;As a political independent and centrist for many years, I&#8217;ve voted for Democrats in the past and as well as Republican[s],&#8221; Johnson wrote on social media. &#8220;In this critical election, I believe Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the best to lead our country, and as my first ever (public) Presidential endorsement, I proudly endorse them for the presidential office of our United States.&#8221;</p>
<p>The actor appeared in a video chat with Biden and Harris to announce his endorsement.</p>
<p>&#8220;You guys are obviously experienced to lead,&#8221; Johnson said. &#8220;Joe, you&#8217;ve done some great things. You&#8217;ve had such an incredible career. You&#8217;ve led in my opinion with great compassion and heart and drive, but also soul.&#8221;</p>

<p>During the 51-year-old actor&#8217;s Wednesday appearance on &#8220;The Joe Rogan Experience&#8221; <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2023/11/16/the-rock-friends-biden-democrats/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">podcast</a>, the host and Johnson discussed being friends with people with different political views.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/joe-rogan-torches-mentally-compromised-joe-biden-kamala-harris-gavin-newsom" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rogan</a> pointed out how it used to be &#8220;no big deal&#8221; to be friends with someone on the opposite end of the political spectrum, and leftists generally didn&#8217;t accuse their conservative pals of being &#8220;a Nazi&#8221; for wanting &#8220;lower taxes.&#8221;</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A rep for the </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/paris"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Paris</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> museum Musée Grévin addressed the recent controversy with one of their wax statues and have already updated the likeness of </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dwayne-johnson"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The wax statue has been making headlines for the last week after fans mocked how the figure had a much lighter complexion than the real Johnson. They also noted how his outfit didn’t look like something </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Rock</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> would normally wear.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When asked about accusations of “whitewashing” the </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment"><span style="font-weight: 400;">celebrity</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, who is of Samoan descent, the museum’s head of PR Veronique Berecz denied any ill intent. “This has nothing do with it — we just made an honest mistake based on the photos we looked at,” she said, per </span><a href="https://variety.com/2023/film/global/dwayne-johnson-new-wax-figure-paris-museum-responds-honest-mistake-1235767845/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Variety</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. “After we saw all these reactions on different blogs and social networks, we changed it immediately.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The celebrity himself had previously </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dwayne-johnson-says-new-wax-figure-needs-important-details-changed-starting-with-my-skin-color"><span style="font-weight: 400;">re-shared a video</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> from a comedian addressing the statue’s appearance. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Knew my boy [James Andre Jefferson Jr.] had this Rock wax statue in his roasting crosshairs,” Johnson wrote in the video caption. “For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum in Paris France so we can work at ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements — starting with my skin color.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Berecz agreed with the “Black Adam” star’s assessment and said she felt his reaction was appropriate. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The two </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities"><span style="font-weight: 400;">celebrities</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> announced on Thursday that they were launching the People&#8217;s Fund of Maui by donating a combined $10 million to kick things off.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As the writers’ and actors’ </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/strike"><span style="font-weight: 400;">strike</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hollywood</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> drags on, actor </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dwayne-johnson"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Dwayne Johnson</span></a>, also known as &#8220;The Rock,&#8221;<span style="font-weight: 400;"> showed his support for fellow Hollywood professionals by making a “historic” donation to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Relief Fund.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 51-year-old “Black Adam” star made a significant payment to the non-profit organization, which is associated with the union but isn’t part of it, per </span><a href="https://variety.com/2023/film/news/dwayne-johnson-donation-sag-aftra-foundation-strike-relief-fund-1235678671/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Variety</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. The foundation is offering financial relief to many of the union’s 160,000 members during the strike. It has provided aid for union members in the past, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“We rely on donations and grants to provide services — we have been very fortunate that we raised enough money to be able to cover all of our programs,” Foundation executive director Cyd Wilson told the outlet. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“But when we hit a crisis like this and we’re going to spend millions and millions of dollars in financial assistance, this is when we need our high profile talent who can afford it, who are in a situation to help others,” he said.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">SAG-AFTRA Foundation president Courtney B. Vance also had words of praise for Johnson. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“It was a love fest. It’s like, ‘Man, you’re stepping up in a way that is allowing others to know the dire necessity of it,&#8217;” she said of the actor’s large donation. “This is him saying, ‘In such a time as this, I’m here and I’m not going anywhere, whatever you need me to do.’ And that sends a huge message to other folks to do the same thing.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The exact amount of Johnson’s donation is being kept private, but Variety noted that the total donation was seven figures. &#8220;He stepped up in a major, historic way to help us because he’s one of us. We support our own,&#8221; Vance added.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wilson told the outlet how grants typically deliver up to $1,500 per individual SAG-AFTRA member. This amount can go as high as $6,000 for members in extreme financial situations.  </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The “Jumanji” actor and former professional wrestler discussed his </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mental-health" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">mental health</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> during an </span><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVc0592Je_o" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">appearance</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> on the podcast “The Pivot.” Johnson said his first experience with depression occurred after a shoulder injury derailed his football career at the University of Miami.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;[I] didn&#8217;t want to go to school,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I was ready to leave. I left school. I didn&#8217;t take any midterms and I just left. But the interesting thing, at that time, is I just didn&#8217;t know what it was. I didn&#8217;t know what mental health was. I didn&#8217;t know what depression was. I just knew I didn&#8217;t want to be there. Wasn&#8217;t going to any of the team meetings. Wasn&#8217;t participating in anything.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Rock said he became depressed again after going through a divorce from Dany Garcia in 2008. Those first two times helped Johnson identify what was happening when he became depressed again in 2017.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Years later, around 2017 or so, went through a little bit. Knew what it was at that time,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And luckily, at that time, I had some friends who I could lean on and say, &#8216;You know, I&#8217;m feeling a little wobbly now. Got a little struggle happening. I&#8217;m seeing a little gray and not the blue.'&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 51-year-old actor said his three daughters were his “saving grace” to help him get through tough times.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;You look at them, and you realize, &#8216;Well, I mean, really, this is what it&#8217;s all about,’&#8221; Johnson said of being a father. </span></p>

<p>Dwayne &#8220;The Rock&#8221; Johnson praised God and &#8220;Angels of mercy&#8221; on Thursday after his mom recently survived a terrifying car accident that left one side of the vehicle ripped open.</p>
<p>In a post on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CoLhgh9LB8s/?igshid=ZmMyNmFmZTc%3D">Instagram</a>, the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dwayne-johnson">50-year-old</a> actor shared a photo of the car his 74-year-old mom, Ata Johnson, was in during the crash, and he praised her as a survivor of not only the accident, but lung cancer and more.</p>
<p>&#8220;Thank you God she&#8217;s ok,&#8221; Johnson captioned his post. &#8220;Angels of mercy watched over my mom as she was in a car crash late last night. She&#8217;ll survive and continue to get evaluated.&#8221;</p>

It is unclear from the photo if all the airbags were deployed in the crash, though likely.</p>
<p>In 2020, the &#8220;Black Adam&#8221; star lost his father, Rocky Johnson, following a massive heart attack, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/dwayne-johnson-mother-involved-traumatic-car-accident-credits-angels-mercy-watching-over-her">Fox News</a> noted.</p>

<p>Rogan&#8217;s guest on the podcast, Derek from the YouTube channel &#8220;More Plates More Dates,&#8221; said Johnson suggests that he does not take steroids, although he has <a href="https://www.muscleandfitness.com/athletes-celebrities/news/rock-talks-about-his-steroid-free-success/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admitted</a> to taking steroids in the past.</p>
<p>Derek <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fitness-celebrity-liver-king-claimed-to-be-all-natural-alleged-leaked-email-says-otherwise" target="_blank" rel="noopener">broke the story</a> about the Liver King&#8217;s steroid use last week in a video in which he showed viewers an email that Liver King sent to him admitting that he takes thousands of dollars of steroids every month.</p>
<p>Liver King later admitted that the story was true in a video that he posted online.</p>
<p>“I’m making this video to apologize because I f***ed up, because I’m embarrassed and ashamed,” he said. “Because I lied and I misled a lot of people.&#8221;</p>
<p>“Yes, I’ve done steroids,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;And yes, I am on steroids monitored and managed by a trained hormone clinician.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;I was broke as hell, so I used to steal a king sized @snickers EVERY DAY from 7-11 for almost a year when I was 14yrs old, on my way to the gym,&#8221; he said, noting that the candy bar had been his go-to pre-workout snack. He also said that the clerk — who was there every day to witness what he was doing, &#8220;turned her head and never busted me.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I’ve exercised [sic] a few big demons over the years (I still have a few left;) so I know this one seems VERY SILLY, but every time I come back home to Hawaii and drive by 7-11 … I always knew I needed to go in and clean out every Snickers bar they had — the right way,&#8221; Johnson added.</p>
<p>The video showed Johnson walking into the store and taking every Snickers bar off the shelf, loading them into a large paper bag. He took the bag to the front counter, and told the clerk &#8220;BK&#8221; to &#8220;ring all these up.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;BK is like, f***,&#8221; Johnson laughed as BK began dutifully counting the candy bars. &#8220;I used to steal a Snickers every day. I gotta come back and I had to buy them, you know what I mean?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Ahh, okay,&#8221; BK replied, still counting.</p>
<p>&#8220;Bk is like, &#8216;look listen, I&#8217;m trying to count all this s***, I don&#8217;t need to hear your stories. Go tell Oprah,’” Johnson narrated, prompting laughs from the clerk and several customers.</p>
<p>Once the candy bars had all been accounted for, Johnson began to wave the other customers forward, offering to pay for whatever they were getting in addition to his massive chocolate haul. The total came to $298 — which he paid before tipping the clerk.</p>
<p>&#8220;It was a lot of fun to take care of everybody who walked into 7-11 while I was there. Least I could do considering all the s*** I used to steal from here,&#8221; he explained in the caption.</p>
<p>&#8220;We can’t change the past and some of the dumb stuff we may have done, but every once in a while we can add a little redeeming grace note to that situation — and maybe put a big smile on some stranger’s faces,&#8221; he concluded.</p>
<p>Johnson left the candy behind, telling the clerk to give them away to anyone who looked like they might be trying to steal a candy bar, &#8220;Give them this so they don&#8217;t steal it.&#8221;</p>
