<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Jill Dillard</a>, nee Duggar, said that her fourth child was stillborn.
The 32-year-old former <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/duggar-family">reality star</a> announced the news on her blog and Instagram, sharing photos of herself and her husband, Derick, cradling what appears to be a crochet bear.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the stillbirth of our beautiful baby girl, Isla Marie Dillard,” she wrote in the post caption. “Jill was 4 months pregnant (due in August) when we found out that our baby died in utero. From the moment we found out we were pregnant, we couldn’t wait to meet our baby. Isla was much loved from the start, and her 3 big brothers were so excited to introduce her to their world.”
She concluded, “We appreciate your prayers as we continue to grieve and heal from the loss of our little Isla Marie.”

The comments were flooded with support for the former “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">Counting On</a>” star, including a message from her sister, Jinger Vuolo. “Love you so much, sis. Continuing to uphold you all in prayer. Sweet little Isla will be missed,” she wrote in her reply.
The Duggar family rose to fame as part of the TLC reality series “19 Kids and Counting.” The show followed the lives of a family with 19 children whose names all began with the letter J. The parents were Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, devout Christians who homeschooled their children.
The series was canceled in 2015 amid controversy stemming from the couple’s eldest son, Josh Duggar, admitting to molesting several of his sisters. A spinoff show starring some of the older daughters in the family, including Jill, debuted in 2015. “Counting On” was canceled in 2021 after Josh was arrested for child pornography possession.

Dillard wrote a book about her experiences, saying being on the show negatively impacted her marriage. “It caused a lot of frustration in our marriage,” the former reality star told People in September 2023, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jill-duggar-said-being-on-reality-show-caused-frustration-in-her-marriage">reported</a>. “Especially early on, where he would feel a certain way about filming something. I’d be like, ‘I hear you, I feel you, I also don’t want to do whatever it is they’re asking us to do either. But we have to.&#8217;”
“It definitely got between us,” she said.
“I saw how deeply we were in an argument one time, and I was like, ‘Whoa, this is not okay,&#8217;” Dillard continued. “When I saw how it was affecting our marriage, I think that was another wake-up call for me. It was like, okay, we need to either fight this battle together, or it’s going to rip us apart. So yeah, we had to join forces at that point.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/duggar-family" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jill Duggar Dillard</a> is opening up about how being on a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/reality-tv" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reality show</a> negatively affected her marriage and family.
The 32-year-old formerly appeared on the hit <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TLC show</a> “19 Kids and Counting” and later, “Counting On.” Dillard has a new book coming out that delves deeper into her experience of being on reality TV alongside her husband, Derick Dillard, and their children.
&#8220;It caused a lot of frustration in our marriage,&#8221; the former reality star told <a href="https://people.com/jill-duggar-dillard-family-reality-shows-nearly-tore-marriage-apart-derick-dillard-exclusive-7965800" target="_blank" rel="noopener">People</a>. &#8220;Especially early on, where he would feel a certain way about filming something. I&#8217;d be like, &#8216;I hear you, I feel you, I also don&#8217;t want to do whatever it is they&#8217;re asking us to do either. But we have to.'&#8221;
“It definitely got between us,” she added.
Dillard told the outlet that she participated in the series partly because of her desire to please her parents. 
&#8220;No matter your age, you are to obey your parents wishes and you even have to ask them for their blessing for any major moment in your life,” Dillard said. “That could be buying a house, moving to a different state, where to go to school. We were dealing with this a lot when we were trying to make decisions for our family, and we were really wrestling back and forth with it.&#8221;

Derick claims that the Duggar family patriarch, Jill’s father Jim Bob Duggar, was a source of their trouble.  
&#8220;Whenever we were at odds with what her dad thought we should be doing with filming, he would say things that would be very damaging,&#8221; Derick told People. &#8220;He would weaponize the relationship and say, &#8216;Is this you Jill, or is this you, Derek? Are you leading your wife astray and doing things that are not supportive of marriage?&#8217; And I think that was a red flag.&#8221;
Jim Bob and his wife Michelle Duggar responded to the allegations with a statement. It said, &#8220;We love all of our children very much. As with any family, few things are more painful than conflicts or problems among those you love&#8230; We do not believe the best way to resolve conflicts, facilitate forgiveness and reconciliation, or to communicate through difficulties is through the media or in a public forum so we will not comment.&#8221;
Derick and Jill said they got through the hard times with the help of therapy, which Jill noted was “the gift we didn’t know we needed.”
Their joint book “Counting the Cost” will be available beginning September 12.

TV fans are about to learn more about the troubled Duggar family.
There are two exposes currently in the works, and neither sounds like it will be friendly toward one of television’s most notorious big families. First up, the limited docuseries “Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets” seeks to pull back the curtain on some of the scandals about the Duggars, including Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s affiliation with the controversial Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP) church.
The Duggars rose to fame with their TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting,” which premiered in 2008. Fans couldn’t help but marvel at the overly large family who espoused traditional values and mostly rejected modern society, including mainstream TV, music, dating, and even women wearing pants.
But then the family’s reputation went down in flames following the sexual abuse scandal involving the eldest brother, Josh. He admitted to sexually abusing five girls, including his own sisters, prior to the beginning of the show. His behavior was allegedly covered up by his church and his parents. The news led to TLC canceling “19 Kids and Counting.” 
Some Duggar family members came back for the spinoff series “Counting On” beginning in 2015. Then TLC canceled that as well after Josh was arrested for child pornography possession in 2021. He was later found guilty and sentenced to 12.5 years in prison last May.
“Shiny Happy People” shines a light on practices within the strict IBLP faith the Duggars followed. Their daughter Jill, who is now a married mother of three, participated in the documentary and plans to reveal some of the family secrets.
&#8220;There&#8217;s a story that&#8217;s going to be told,&#8221; Jill says in the series trailer, &#8220;and I would rather be the one telling it.&#8221;
Jill says in the Amazon series that she worries about people who were influenced to join IBLP because of her family. The church’s head and founder Bill Gothard resigned from the organization in 2014 following more than 30 claims of sexual harassment from former employees.
Now, Jill has personal reasons for telling the truth about her family. 
“I believe strongly that victims should always be protected. Victims should always be cared for,” Jill says in the docuseries. “You’re out there, your story’s out there. … I’d rather have some say in what that looks like.”
Jill also discussed the infamous interview she and her sisters participated in on Fox News after the news about Josh came to light in 2015. 
“In hindsight, I wouldn’t have done the Megyn Kelly stuff. I felt like I was in a place again of like bearing the burden and the weight of just — even though you volunteer, it’s like you feel obligated to help,” she said in the second episode of “Shiny Happy People,” per <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/tv/story/2023-05-30/shiny-happy-people-duggar-family-highlights-amazon-studios">The L.A. Times</a>.

During the interview, Jill and her sister Jessa referred to Josh’s behavior as “mild.”
“It’s not something that I’m proud of,” Jill said in the new documentary. “If I hadn’t felt obligated to like, one, do it for the sake of the show and two, do it for the sake of my parents, I wouldn’t have done it,” she said of her statements about her brother. 
The reality star said the sisters did the interview and downplayed Josh’s behavior in part because they believed the show would continue if they did. “Yes, we were taken advantage of,” Jill said.
During the new docuseries, Jill also restated her allegations that she never got paid for participating in “19 Kids and Counting” or “Counting On” as she felt she deserved.
Per The L.A. Times, the reality star said she “never received any payout.”
“No check, no cash, no nothing. For 7.5 years of my adult life, I was never paid,” Jill said, laying blame on her father Jim Bob for promising her funds that never materialized. She had camera crews present at major life events including her wedding and the birth of her first child but claims she didn’t get paid for drawing in a viewing audience of millions. 
“Shiny Happy People” is not the only place where Jill is speaking out. The 32-year-old star will also release a new book called “Counting the Cost,” which will reportedly reveal “the unedited truth about the Duggars,” according to <a href="https://people.com/jill-duggar-dillard-memoir-counting-the-cost-7506108">People</a>.
“Jill Duggar and her husband Derick [Dillard] are finally ready to share their story, revealing the secrets, manipulation, and intimidation behind the show that remained hidden from their fans,” the book’s description says. The new book is due out in January 2024.
“For as long as they could, Jill and Derick tried to be obedient family members — they weren’t willing to rock the boat. But now they’re raising a family of their own, and they’re done with the secrets,” the description says. “Thanks to time, tears, therapy, and blessings from God, they have the strength to share their journey. Theirs is a remarkable story of the power of the truth and is a moving example of how to find healing through honesty.”
Jill shared more on her <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Cs6dR2uAQAO/">Instagram page</a> while announcing the upcoming book. She said the tell-all &#8220;is meant to reflect a story that has been difficult, yet hopeful.&#8221;
&#8220;The challenges we have faced, including lack of respect for boundaries, greed, manipulation, and betrayal, are not that much different than what many people in our audience have faced,&#8221; she wrote. &#8220;However, 15+ years of reality television, undergirded by secrecy and lies, is tantamount to pouring gasoline on the fire of our struggle.&#8221;
The Dillards say &#8220;time, tears, truth, and therapy&#8221; helped them move forward through &#8220;our painful journey as part of the reality-show-filming Duggar family.&#8221; 
&#8220;Though we would have never chosen this path, and it has cost us dearly, we want to use our voice to show others that there is hope beyond the pain,&#8221; the social media post said.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/duggar-family">Jessa Duggar Seewald</a> just revealed some intimate details about her recent miscarriage, which led to at least one news publication reporting that she had an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/abortion">abortion</a> instead.
The 30-year-old former <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">reality star</a> updated fans via a <a href="https://youtu.be/WVUe7I-74zk">YouTube</a> post called “Heartbreak Over the Holidays,” which detailed what happened. Seewald said she experienced spotting during her pregnancy and then visited her OB/GYN. There, she and her husband, Ben, were told they had lost the baby.
&#8220;Nothing could have prepared me for the weight of those words in that moment,&#8221; Jessa said in the video. &#8220;At that moment I was just in complete shock. I didn&#8217;t have words. I just immediately started crying.&#8221;
&#8220;I feel like in some ways miscarriages can be so jarring because you don&#8217;t have clear signs of something going wrong,&#8221; she went on. &#8220;I had minimal spotting for 24 hours, and that was it.&#8221;

The mother of four said her doctor recommended a D&amp;C procedure rather than waiting for the deceased child to pass naturally for fear of hemorrhaging. Seewald said just before the procedure began, she &#8220;was able to thank God in that moment for giving us this life, even if we wouldn&#8217;t be able to hold this baby in our arms.&#8221;
Certain publications and critics used this opportunity to make a case for abortion. They dubbed Seewald a hypocrite for being pro-life and undergoing the procedure while ignoring one important fact. Miscarriage occurs when a child dies in the womb naturally. In some cases, a D&amp;C procedure (dilation and curettage, used to remove tissue from the uterus) is done to remove the already deceased baby. This is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dont-believe-pro-abortion-misinformation-what-to-know-about-ectopic-pregnancy-miscarriage-and-more">not the same</a> as an abortion procedure that intentionally kills a living unborn child. 
No pro-life laws prohibit procedures after miscarriage or those which treat non-viable ectopic pregnancies.
“Health care for me but not for thee: a Duggar had an abortion,” the headline from <a href="https://arktimes.com/news/2023/02/26/health-care-for-me-but-not-for-thee-a-duggar-had-an-abortion">Arkansas Times</a> proclaims. <a href="https://parade.com/news/jessa-duggar-seewald-life-saving-abortion-youtube-video-february-2023">Parade</a> also inaccurately describes the D&amp;C procedure Seewald had, writing in their headline, “Jessa Duggar Reveals She Had a Life-Saving Abortion in Emotional New Video.”

Social media followers also piled on, insisting Seewald had an abortion. In the YouTube video, the “Counting On” star shows an ultrasound screen depicting an image of the unborn child without a heartbeat prior to the procedure, clearly showing the baby was already deceased. 
&#8220;Just want to point out Jessa Duggar got what is considered an illegal abortion in Arkansas, as it was not too (sic) save the mother&#8217;s life. It appears she may have also not done the 72 hour waiting &amp; counselling (sic) period,” one Twitter user wrote. “Remember abortion will always be ‘legal’ for the wealthy.”
But many social media users pointed out that the procedure Seewald had was not, in fact, an abortion at all. 
“Removing a dead baby from the womb after miscarriage is not abortion, and everyone knows that. The way pro aborts are using Jessa Duggar&#8217;s tragedy to justify their murder is monstrous,” one person <a href="https://twitter.com/abbythelibb_/status/1630155294243188737">shared</a>.
&#8220;The comments here show why pro-abortion folk redefine words AND why they&#8217;re so good at it,&#8221; another commenter <a href="https://twitter.com/tylerroark/status/1630087410833817601">wrote</a>. &#8220;Everyone absolutely knows that she&#8217;s against killing babies in the womb, and that this is different, but now the argument is about the definition rather than the truth.&#8221;

Media Claims Jessa Duggar Had An Abortion When She Really Had A Miscarriage, Sparking Outcry From Fans

Mainstream media seemed triumphant to report that Jinger Vuolo, nee Duggar, was renouncing the strict religious sect her parents belonged to and forging her own course.
Headlines about Vuolo’s new book and subsequent interview circuit touted that the former reality star was “free” from the “<a href="https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/counting-ons-jinger-duggar-religious-upbringing-was-cult-like/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cult-like</a>” atmosphere of her former church, which was “built on fear.” These journalists seemed delighted that someone from a strict Christian household would figure out that the whole thing was a trick.
Except Vuolo never said that.
Anyone who clicks on these attention-grabbing headlines or picks up a copy of the 29-year-old Arkansas native’s memoir “<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Becoming-Free-Indeed-Story-Disentangling/dp/1400335817" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Becoming Free Indeed</a>” would immediately realize she is still a Christian, and she doesn’t hate her parents. 
Vuolo did share strong words of condemnation, however, for disgraced minister Bill Gothard and his Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP), the religion she was raised in. But even this bad experience wasn’t enough to sour Vuolo’s strong Christian faith.
Fans will recall the Duggar family from the TV reality show “19 Kids and Counting.” The series followed Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar as they raised their larger-than-average brood, including Vuolo, who is now married with two children. The show ran from 2008 until 2015.
The former reality star flat out said that she didn’t blame her parents for being part of IBLP or how it affected her upbringing. “My parents loved me and sacrificed so much for me. For all of us,” she wrote in the book.
“They invested their time and energy and souls into raising me and my brothers and sisters. Their patience, kindness, and love are things I want to imitate in raising my girls. They pointed me to Jesus. So, this is not a book about them.”
Vuolo also discussed some of her feelings about writing the memoir during a recent interview with Us Weekly. She said she “sought to be open” with her family members because the book wasn’t meant to sour those relationships.
“I remember initially, like, when I started wearing pants, that was a huge thing. And so … I felt like it was the most loving thing to do, to share [with my family], ‘Hey, this is why I see this in the word of God differently than I used to.’ And so we talked through those things. And [it was] the same with this book,” she <a href="https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/counting-ons-jinger-duggar-religious-upbringing-was-cult-like/">told</a> the publication. 
“I think this journey is continuing every day,” Vuolo explained. “There are days where fears will come back and try to grip me and I’ll just have to think on what’s true. … I think that I really now have a more balanced view of [what faith is].”
While the former “Counting On” star shared words of love for her parents, she is much harsher in critiquing Gothard and the religious rules he inflicted upon his congregation. 
“Fear was a huge part of my childhood,” Vuolo <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jinger-duggar-vuolo-describes-cult-like-religion-of-her-childhood-said-she-was-terrified-of-the-outside-world">told</a> People during a recent interview. “I thought I had to wear only skirts and dresses to please God. Music with drums, places I went or the wrong friendships could all bring harm.”
She said this anxiety extended even to benign activities, like playing sports. Vuolo grew up believing that she should only spend her time in prayer and worship.
“I thought I could be killed in a car accident on the way because I didn’t know if God wanted me to stay home and read my Bible instead,” she explained of forgoing sports. 
“[Gothard’s] teachings, in a nutshell, are based on fear and superstition and leave you in a place where you feel like, ‘I don’t know what God expects of me,&#8217;” Vuolo told the publication. “The fear kept me crippled with anxiety. I was terrified of the outside world.”
She also said the IBLP was rife with “cult-like tendencies” which ultimately drove her away from that sect of Christianity. “His teachings were so harmful, and I’m seeing more of the effects of that in the lives of my friends and people who grew up in that community with me,” Vuolo said.
Gothard was forced out of IBLP after allegations he abused young women working at its headquarters came to light. The 87-year-old former pastor founded the religious group in 1961, preaching strict conservative values such as modesty and a strict patriarchal family structure. IBLP had rules against television, modern music, alcohol, dating, and public schools.
While some of his ideas were in line with more mainstream Christian conservatives, IBLP went further to the extreme and propped Gothard up as a celebrity, savior-type figure in the movement.
The Duggars have since stated they don’t agree with many of Gothard’s preaching, but they maintain that his lessons were interspersed with nuggets of truth.
“We do not agree with everything taught by Dr. Bill Gothard or IBLP, but some of the life-changing Biblical principles we learned through IBLP’s ministry have helped us deepen our personal walks with God,” they shared in a February 2022 statement.
“The public accusations against Dr. Gothard in recent years are troubling and grievous. However, our faith in God is not based on following a fallible human man. … Truth is truth, even if the messenger fails,” the couple <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/ministry-nourished-duggar-familys-faith-falls-grace-rcna14024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> NBC News at the time.
Now Vuolo is married to a pastor in training. She said while she and Jeremy didn’t have a modern dating experience due to her family’s strict rules, she knows picking him was the right choice. “Marrying him was one of the best decisions I ever made,” Jinger <a href="https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/pictures/counting-ons-jinger-duggar-jeremy-vuolo-relationship-timeline/">told</a> Us Weekly.
“Jer came on the scene and I think my hesitation was mainly because of him being outside of my world,” the former reality star told Us Weekly of the couple’s courtship. “And that can be a fearful thing when you&#8217;re in that culture.”
In the end, Vuolo said Jeremy’s faith was a huge reason she knew he would make a good husband.
“I remember coming back [from a date] and telling my mom, ‘I feel so safe with him. Like he is everything that I&#8217;ve ever wanted,’” she continued. “He wasn&#8217;t in our setting, which is just crazy to think about, but he loved God and he was committed to the word of God and lived his life according to it. And that&#8217;s where I found, ‘OK, this guy is an awesome guy.’ It&#8217;s exactly what I&#8217;ve wanted.”

Former reality star Josh Duggar was sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison after being convicted of child pornography possession charges. Now his large, famous family is reacting in various ways.
Josh’s wife Anna, the mother of their seven children, has been standing by her husband all along. Some other members of the tight-knit Duggar family, however, came to different conclusions about the eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle, who became famous on their TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting.”
Cousin Amy (Duggar) King expressed her feelings with <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CeAJNvBvpav/">Instagram</a> followers just hours after Josh’s sentencing. Amy said she wished Josh had gotten closer to the maximum punishment, which was up to 20 years.
“I knew him getting the maximum sentence wasn’t going to be the easiest to prove since it’s his first offense in the judge’s eyes — which I hate — but at the same time, he cannot have his computer, he cannot hurt [and] exploit any more children and when he sees his kids, he has to be supervised,” she said.
Amy continued, saying “where he’s going … the prisoners are going to take care of him” but also said drama with Josh is “far from over.”
“Josh’s sickness stems from somewhere, and eventually we will hear about the trauma. I don’t know when, or how, or who but eventually I think more will come out,” she continued. “But hopefully tonight, I can sleep for the first time ever and rest assured that another monster will be put behind bars makes my heart feel a little lighter.”
Josh’s younger sister Jill (Duggar) Dillard had mixed emotions about the ordeal.
“The last several weeks and months have been difficult emotionally. Yesterday was another one of those hard days,” she and husband Derick Dillard wrote in a <a href="https://www.dillardfamily.com/2022/05/our-response-to-joshs-sentencing/">statement</a>. 
“Until now, he has yet to be held accountable to the extent necessary to cause change in his dangerous pattern of behavior,” the couple continued. “It is unfortunate, but it seems that it may take spending over a decade in federal prison, and still more on probation, for Josh to have any potential for rehabilitation to the point he can safely live in society again.”
The Dillards also said they wanted Josh to, “begin to get treatment and begin to work toward a lifestyle where he is less likely to reoffend.”
“We continue to love Josh and his family and will be there for them however we can,” they wrote in conclusion.
Josh’s brother Jason said he believes the judge was “fair” but also said he’d never stop loving his sibling.
“Yesterday my oldest brother was sentenced to 151 months, around 12 1/2 years in prison for receiving and possessing child pornography,” the “Counting On” alum wrote on his Instagram Story Thursday, per <a href="https://pagesix.com/2022/05/27/jason-duggar-will-never-stop-loving-josh-after-sentencing/">Page Six</a>.
“In my opinion, judge Timothy L. Brooks was fair in his ruling giving Josh a sentence that would be considered below the median for the crimes he has committed,” Jason shared. “My heart is grieved over the choices my brother has made, his actions do not reflect that of a Christian believer and have doubtlessly defamed my Lord and Saviors [sic] name!!”

Josh Duggar, the eldest son of the famous reality show about the Duggar family from TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting,” was sentenced to 151 months &#8212; that&#8217;s 12.5 years &#8212; stemming from being found guilty of child pornography possession, according to <a href="https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/5409576/josh-duggar-sentencing-updates/">The Sun</a>. 
The 34-year-old Arkansas native attempted to get a new trial but had that request denied by the judge on Tuesday. He was found guilty by a federal jury in Arkansas on charges related to the receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography, per <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/josh-duggar-sentenced-child-pornography-case">Fox News</a>.
Duggar faced anywhere from five to twenty years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each conviction, People <a href="https://people.com/tv/josh-duggar-sentencing-family-supports-him-in-court/">reported</a>.
U.S. Attorneys made a statement outside the courthouse after the former reality star was found guilty.
&#8220;This case represents a significant milestone for the Western District of Arkansas and our continued efforts to combat child abuse,” one of the attorneys said. 
“Those who would say that children who were photographed and videoed in a manner similar to the evidence in this case are not abused and are not victims are clearly wrong. Children who are photographed and videoed in manners such as this are the victims and every time their videos and photos are traded online, uploaded, and downloaded from the internet, they are victimized again,” the attorney added. 
Other members of the Duggar family have been divided on whether Josh was innocent. His wife, Anna, has stood by her husband throughout the ordeal. The couple wed in 2008 and has seven children together, including a daughter born in late 2021, just months before Josh was found guilty.
Josh’s mother, Michelle, wrote a letter to Judge Timothy L. Brooks requesting leniency in his sentencing.  She said, &#8220;Joshua has a tender heart and he is compassionate toward others.&#8221;
Anna called her husband a &#8220;loving, supportive and caring father&#8221; in a letter of her own.
Josh’s wife also stood by him in May 2015 after Josh was accused of molesting multiple teenage girls, including some of his sisters, in 2002. He admitted to wrongdoing at the time and apologized. “I have been the biggest hypocrite ever,” he wrote in a statement shared on the Duggar family website, per <a href="https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/josh-duggars-wife-anna-duggar-attends-child-porn-sentencing/">Us Weekly</a>. 
“While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction, and I became unfaithful to my wife.”
Hackers had found Josh’s profile on the dating website Ashley Madison, which markets to married people seeking to have affairs.
Josh&#8217;s father, Jim Bob, and his siblings Joy-Anna (Duggar) Forsyth and Jason Duggar were seen at the Western District of Arkansas Federal Courthouse in Fayetteville on Wednesday morning before proceedings began. Anna was there as well.

Members of the Duggar family keep making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The latest “19 Kids and Counting” alum facing legal troubles is eldest daughter Jana Duggar, though the charges against her are much less serious than those facing her older brother, Josh, who was convicted on December 9 of receiving and possessing child pornography. 
Prior to that shocking conviction, 30-year-old Jana, who is unmarried and has no children, was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor on September 9. No one has known the exact details, but she is now speaking about what she says happened. 
&#8220;The raw facts: I was babysitting a few months ago when one of the children wandered outside alone. A passerby who saw [the] child called the police. This resulted in a written citation, as well as a follow-up with child welfare who concluded that it was an accident and the child was unharmed,&#8221; Jana wrote in a statement, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/jana-duggar-breaks-silence-misdemeanor-charge-endangering-welfare-minor">according to</a> Fox News. 
&#8220;They recognized it was a case of a child slipping out of the house when you turn your back for a moment. It all happened so quickly and was scary. I am grateful for law enforcement and those who protect and serve our community. I was certainly never arrested like some may have implied. In the end I was just upset at myself that it had happened at all, but so thankful it all ended safely and that&#8217;s truly what mattered most to me.&#8221;
Jana’s sister, Jessa, came to her sibling’s defense on social media.
&#8220;Getting messages about headlines about Jana,&#8221; Jessa wrote in an Instagram story <a href="https://www.instagram.com/jessaseewald/?hl=en">post</a> shared on December 13. &#8220;Bottom line—it was an innocent mistake. She was babysitting and one of the kids slipped out the door unnoticed, but it ended safely. Could&#8217;ve happened to anyone.&#8221;
The 29-year-old reality star implored fans and followers to keep Jana’s charges in perspective, blaming the hype on the recent court case with Josh.
&#8220;The media is sensationalizing this because of other current family circumstances, and it makes me so mad,” Jessa continued. “[Jana]&#8217;s without question, one of the most amazing women I know, and I&#8217;d trust her with my kids any day of the week. Do me a favor—give the girl a break, and all you perfect humans go back to living your lives.&#8221;
Duggar family cousin Amy King, who’s been openly critical of the family in the past, added her thoughts on the situation as well. And she had nothing but love for her cousin Jana.
&#8220;I will call out what is right, and I will call out what is wrong. This couldn&#8217;t have been intentional,&#8221; King wrote on her Instagram <a href="https://www.instagram.com/amyrachelleking/">stories</a> December 13, &#8220;I bet you were exhausted, stressed and just emotionally worn out. Watching multiple kids is hard! Bc there&#8217;s so many of them and you only have two eyes!! It&#8217;s a very sad situation going on and my heart goes out to @janamduggar, love you.&#8221;
Jana has submitted a plea of “not guilty” on child endangerment charges. Per Arkansas law, the misdemeanor charges could result in some jail time or a fine if Jana is found guilty.
