“Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson shared an emotional Instagram post about his late father Phil Robertson, who died on Sunday at the age of 79. Willie’s post included a photo montage of his father and him, and revealed the last thing Phil said to Willie before his death.

“I remember Phil’s many prayers on Memorial Day and all the times with my dad. I don’t have enough words to tell of all of it, perhaps it will take months or years of remembering,” the post began.
“Looking back at pics I noticed he was always looking at me funny, prolly trying to figure out, ‘How did this boy turn out like this?’ I remember in 8th grade bringing my boombox in the living room and doing a break dance routine for him as he sat on his recliner. He just looked strangely at me and said, ‘Well, I’ve never seen anything quite like that!’ I took it as a compliment,” the post continued.
Willie next recalled dancing again in front of his dad “at he very end of his life” saying, “Maybe I figured it was the last thing he would think I would do, so I just did it.”
The “Duck Dynasty” alum next reflected on his father’s faith and legacy.
“He taught me many things in life and most without ever saying a word. I watched him, and knew he had figured out so many things. Most importantly, he taught me the value of sharing my faith with others. He was the Real Deal, the same on Sundays as Fridays. Most of our conversations were not about hunting or business, but about sharing the Gospel,” the Instagram post continued.
“The last words he said to me as I leaned down over his weakened body was ‘You’re my brother.’ It made total sense to me. He always told me we were coworkers in the Kingdom of God. Maybe that’s why I always just called him Phil. Not sure if he is up in Heaven now doing his own dance moves for our Father,” Willie wrote.
He concluded with words of thanks for his late father. 
The reality star wrote, “Thank you for raising me the right way and teaching me the most important lesson to prepare me for the day you passed on. Not sure how people deal with loss without the Lord. We may be wrong about all this….but I doubt it! Sleep well Dad, can’t wait to see you.”

Phil Robertson, whose company and family became the center of the popular A&amp;E television series &#8220;Duck Dynasty,&#8221; died just months after receiving an Alzheimer&#8217;s diagnosis, his family said on Sunday. Robertson was 79.
In a social media <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DKGJwF3yWMl/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post</a>, the Robertson family said their &#8220;father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord.&#8221; An avid outdoorsman, Robertson invented his first duck call in 1972, which was patented, and he started his company the next year. Decades later — under the leadership of his son, Willie — Duck Commander became a multi-million-dollar business and was featured in the show &#8220;Duck Dynasty,&#8221; which aired for 11 seasons between 2012 and 2017 and became one of the <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/maryroeloffs/2025/01/22/duck-dynasty-reboot-launches-this-summer-starring-original-cast-next-generation-of-robertson-family/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">most-watched</a> reality shows on TV.
Robertson is survived by his wife, Kay, his sons Alan, Jase, Jep, and Willie, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robertson&#8217;s condition seemed to worsen in recent months, according to his son, Jase, who <a href="https://people.com/phil-robertson-dead-duck-dynasty-star-was-79-11741649" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in December that the Alzheimer&#8217;s &#8220;accelerated, and it&#8217;s causing problems with his entire body,&#8221; adding, &#8220;He&#8217;s just not doing well. He&#8217;s really struggling.&#8221;
On the show and in his life, Robertson often spoke about his Christian faith and how God guided him out of poverty and gave him a successful business and loving family.
&#8220;He reminded us so often of the words of Paul, &#8216;you do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him,&#8221; the Robertson family wrote. &#8220;Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and by his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus. We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again.&#8221;
Robertson grew up with six siblings in a poor Louisiana family, and from an early age, hunting became an important part of his life. In high school, Robertson excelled in multiple sports and earned a scholarship to play quarterback at Louisiana Tech University. He <a href="https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/phil-robertson-duck-dynasty-star-and-former-louisiana-tech-qb-dies-at-79/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">played</a> two seasons in 1966 and 1967, winning the starting quarterback role ahead of the legendary Terry Bradshaw, who went on to be selected No. 1 overall in the NFL draft and won four Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Robertson didn&#8217;t come back to play in the 1968 season, instead choosing to pursue his passion for hunting.
&#8220;Terry went for the bucks, and I chased after the ducks,&#8221; Robertson <a href="https://duckcommander.com/pages/phil-robertson?srsltid=AfmBOoq5ZDMZorUOAucxejxsookh7rZCgaEdXp538od_9hI6Kv0YGxHc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
Robertson married Marsha Kay Carroway in 1966, and the couple had four children together, including other &#8220;Duck Dynasty&#8221; stars Jase, Willie, and Jep. The two remained married until Robertson&#8217;s death.
Robertson also spoke out about his conservative political views and was a supporter of President Donald Trump, appearing on stage alongside the president at a rally in West Monroe, Louisiana, in 2019. Jase <a href="https://x.com/conservmillen/status/1926807932336763291" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> conservative podcast host Allie Beth Stuckey in February that Robertson shared the message of Jesus personally with Trump during the 2016 campaign, a message that the president remembered nearly four years later.

&#8220;He shared the story of Jesus and he wrote it down, and so he handed the paper to President Trump, and he&#8217;s like, &#8216;You need to move on that. This needs to be the core of everything you do,'&#8221; Jase said. &#8220;So we&#8217;re fast-forwarding four years, and he came to Monroe, and my dad was there &#8230; and President Trump pulled out of his pocket that same gospel presentation that my dad had given to him four years before.&#8221;

On Friday, New York Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner announced the team would no longer force its players to be clean-shaven.
“In recent weeks I have spoken to a large number of former and current Yankees — spanning several eras — to elicit their perspectives on our longstanding facial hair and grooming policy, and I appreciate their earnest and varied feedback,” Steinbrenner said in a statement posted on X. “These most recent conversations are an extension of ongoing internal dialogue that dates back several years. Ultimately the final decision rests with me, and after great consideration, we will be amending our expectations to allow our players and uniformed personnel to have well-groomed beards moving forward. It is the appropriate time to move beyond the familiar comfort of our former policy.”

“Steinbrenner said he spoke with several players earlier this week, including team captain Aaron Judge, right-hander Gerrit Cole and designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton. All were in favor of updating the policy,” MLB.com <a href="https://www.mlb.com/news/yankees-change-facial-hair-policy">reported</a>.
“It’s appropriate. It makes sense,” Cole offered. “It still embodies our look and neatness, but allows for some individual freedom and a few less razor burns.”
Long beards may not pass the test; general manager Brian Cashman said: “We’re not trying to look like Duck Dynasty.” One concern expressed by the Yankees is that a free agent who sported facial hair might be lost because of the prior policy. “We never want to miss out on one player. If we miss out on one player because of that [policy], that’s too many,” manager Aaron Boone explained.

The policy was implemented by Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, who had served in the military, in the 1970s. “I have nothing against long hair per se,” Steinbrenner said in 1978, “but I’m trying to instill a certain sense of order and discipline in the ballclub, because I think discipline is important in an athlete. The players can joke about it, as long as they do it.”
“Winning was the most important thing to my father,” Steinbrenner added. “If somebody came and told him that they were very sure this could affect us getting the players we want to get … I think he might be a little more apt to do the change than people think, because it was about winning.”
“All players, coaches and male executives are forbidden to display any facial hair other than mustaches [except for religious reasons], and scalp hair may not be grown below the collar,” the team’s player manual states. “Long sideburns and mutton chops are not specifically banned.”
In the 1970s, one of the greatest teams of all time, the Cincinnati Reds, with Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, and Tony Perez on the team, were forbidden from sporting facial hair by general manager Bob Howsam, who was supported by manager Sparky Anderson. Howsam also banned long hair and demanded the team wear suit jackets for traveling.

The series, titled “Duck Dynasty: The Revival,” will this time center on the Robertsons&#8217; plans for the family’s business Duck Commander, the children, who are now adults, and grandchildren of the family, <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/duck-dynasty-revived-a-and-e-1236114461/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to The Hollywood Reporter. The network has ordered two 10-episode seasons of the show, with the first to drop this summer, the outlet noted.

The new series comes nearly eight years after the Louisiana-based family’s reality TV series “Duck Dynasty” went off the air following 11 seasons on the network, the <a href="https://www.thewrap.com/duck-dynasty-revival-reboot-ae-robertsons/">Wrap</a> noted. The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/duck-dynasty-stars-talk-raising-a-biracial-son">Robertsons&#8217;</a> reality series first debuted on A&amp;E in 2012 and ran until 2017. It followed the experiences of the family known for their duck-hunting business, which they built from the ground up.
The revival series will see a return of some of the popular family members like Uncle Si, Miss Kay, and a look into the adult lives of the kids Sadie, Will, Bella, John Luke, and Rebecca, the Wrap noted.
One member of the family, previously part of the show, who is not listed as being on camera for the new series is the patriarch of the family, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/phil-robertson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Phil Robertson</a>. Phil ended up being put on a brief hiatus during the series following calls to have him taken off the air over an interview he gave to <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/duck-dynasty-phil-robertson">GQ Magazine</a> for its December 2013 issue in which he labeled homosexuality sinful, reported the outlet.
The reality star said he had “just quoted a Bible verse,” <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/duck-dynasty-phil-robertson-cancel-culture-past-suspension">reported</a> Fox News at the time.

The Robertsons — best known for their family’s hit reality TV series “Duck Dynasty” and its spin-offs — spoke with The Daily Wire on Wednesday about their personal adoption experience with their 8-year-old son, Gus, and writing their new book for kids, which teaches families about the importance of adoption, acceptance, and unconditional love.
The couple — who reside in West Monroe, Louisiana, with their five children — said “Dear Valor” is a “sweet adoption story about Valor the tiger who was adopted by two lion parents.&#8221;
“We wanted to do this because we have an adopted son [Gus] who we adopted when he was three days old,” Jessica told The Daily Wire. “And there are challenges that we’ve faced with adoption and him being a black child adopted by a white family.”

She said the book wasn’t based on their family but that “tidbits” come from their own experience, such as their son noticing how he looks “different” than them. She pointed out how just like in the book, Valor “asked questions about looking different than his lion parents.” 
Jessica said they wanted to write the book “so that other children can empathize and sympathize with what adopted kids go through.”
“And what adopted families go through and they can see ‘oh unconditional love for a family looks different sometimes,” she added.
Jep said the main phrase in the book, “You are strong, you are loved, you are ours,” resonates with them. 
“We just think that’s a beautiful correlation to how God feels about us,” as he pointed out that adoption isn’t easy, but they feel so blessed for their Gus.
&#8220;We are so excited to share &#8216;Dear Valor&#8217; with families everywhere,&#8221; the Robertsons said in a press release. &#8220;Our journey with Gus has been incredibly humbling for us and our other children, and we hope this book will inspire and educate others about the beauty and importance of opening your home and family to a child in need.&#8221;
When asked about how adoption has been humbling for them and their family, Jep said it has been “amazing” seeing everything that’s happened because they always look at things from a “spiritual standpoint.”
“It has been such an amazing, humbling experience, to see this beautiful creation that God created and we get to be his mommy and daddy here on earth,” Jessica added about their son.
The Robertsons are also involved with <a href="https://allgodschildren.org/">All God&#8217;s Children International</a> ministry, which opens up the door to sponsoring and adopting kids all across the world. 
Jep said he got involved in the ministry well before Gus came into their lives, pointing out that his wife had spoken often about wanting to adopt. However, he said it was when he went on a “life-changing” mission with his church to the Dominican Republic to build an orphanage and met the sweet kids that he told his wife he was ready to adopt.
“Adopting Gus has changed my way of living, so amazing,” Jep added.
“Dear Valor” hit the shelves just before “<a href="https://www.angel.com/tickets/sound-of-hope-the-story-of-possum-trot?utm_source=The+Daily+Wire&amp;utm_medium=partner&amp;utm_campaign=dailywire&amp;utm_content=dailywire&amp;codes=DAILYWIRE&amp;oid=35&amp;_ef_transaction_id=dee764931a7745c491a7dab741acd5df&amp;promo=dailywire">Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot</a>,” a movie about the power of adoption, is released in theaters on July 4. Jordan: Why do you think that what you did struck a chord with people so deeply and one that was able to be maintained?
Willie: Well, I think there’s probably a couple reasons for that. I think people saw parts of their family in our family, and so I think it resonated especially across generations. [We] just had a lot of people say, “Wow, my dad&#8217;s similar to your dad,” or “My mom&#8217;s just like your mom,” or “We&#8217;ve got a crazy uncle.” And so I think that was one of them. I think it was funny, and I think people like to laugh and have fun. And I also think the faith aspect was a big part of it with the prayer at the end. It wasn&#8217;t overtly religious, but it was wholesome I guess.

Jordan: So what role do you think the faith played?
Korie: I actually think it played a really big role. I think that, you know, we ended every episode around the dinner table and we said a prayer. And we really didn&#8217;t have any grand scheme for that. We just did it because it&#8217;s kind of what our family does. And so we said a prayer and that just had such an impact on people. I feel like that&#8217;s the most common thing people commented on as we&#8217;ve traveled the world. It was just sitting around the table and being grateful for what&#8217;s before you. You know, it was just this idea that we would submit to God and give gratefulness, give thankfulness, to him before we have a meal.
And Willie mentioned that nostalgia. I think there was this [going] back to something that we&#8217;ve lost as a country, as a people. Whenever we did the show, I think that the network and the executives thought that we were going to look like this Louisiana family that&#8217;s so different and unique, and that we hunt for a living and we eat squirrels and all this, and that people would maybe look at us and be like, “Oh, they&#8217;re so different and outside of the norm,” or whatever. But instead, people actually looked at us and were like, “Oh, that&#8217;s like my family,” or “That&#8217;s like my family used to be,” or “That is something that I long for in our family is to be able to come together at the end of the day around the dinner table.”

Willie: I think in the aspect when you say, “That&#8217;s what we used to be,” if you&#8217;re sitting around a table where we ended every episode — I think people [saw] that, going, “Wow, we never sit together and eat. You know, we&#8217;re always running and gunning and grabbing fast food.” And so I think they saw that and were like, “Wow, maybe we did that at a holiday or growing up.”
And so that was one of the parts where, maybe they didn&#8217;t say a prayer or maybe they used to, and maybe they heard about it. So I think they kind of really enjoyed that, even if they don&#8217;t do it. Some of them did and said, “Hey, now we&#8217;ve changed our whole structure and now we sit down and we eat together.” But they could kind of see that, and so I do think it was kind of a throwback.

Korie: It was really interesting to me because I think it was a funny show. It was like a sitcom. It was a funny show about our family, but it impacted people in really powerful ways. People would come up in tears saying, “Now my family eats dinner together because of your show.” Or, “My husband goes to church now because he saw real men that just love God and can be normal people,” or things like, “I watched it with my dad who had cancer, and it brought us joy and laughter and positivity and hope in a time that was the darkest time of our lives.”

Jordan: I remember I read a couple of years ago, I think, 30% of households in the U.K. now have no dining room table. So people don&#8217;t eat together. As a psychologist, it is very interesting to me to consider the role of the table in the union of families and in the socialization of children.
I mean, first of all, people, human beings, do something very strange at a table, and it&#8217;s so normal in some ways that no one notices it. But human beings are really the only animals that formally share food. It is a very strange thing to do. I mean, even if you have a dog that loves you, he is generally not that happy if you try to take his bone away in his dinner dish; the carnivore comes back out. The fact that people can actually share food and that they can do that even when they are hungry is really quite the miracle.
It is also the case that at the dinner table is when you get to share your day; you each get to talk and to listen. That is a very good place to inculcate manners into your children. It is a good place for everybody to keep track of everyone else and what is going on in their day and their week and so forth. And it is a good time for everyone to come together and discuss the separate elements of their life.
In the Old Testament, there is an immense emphasis on hospitality on the grounds of morality itself — hospitality to a stranger. But the same thing applies within your family. You said that your producers were convinced that your family, in some sense, would be an oddity [and] out of the norm. I guess one of the things they did not consider was that not only in some ways were you guys not out of the norm, but [you were] the actual norm. But even more than that, you represented a kind of nostalgic ideal. And obviously that was centered at least in part around the dinner table and around prayer.
Then you also said that the mealtime prayer gave you a chance to be grateful. That really struck me as interesting, too, because one of the things that people do not really understand about prayer — they think about it as a kind of a wish, let&#8217;s say — is that it is actually a practice. And you can practice being grateful. The reason you should practice being grateful is, first of all, you notice what you have to be grateful about. And if your foot is not caught in a bear trap while you are dying of cancer, you have plenty to be grateful for. And so practicing that makes you much more aware of it. But it is also a really good way of staving off resentment.
It&#8217;s striking to me how much impact the fact that you guys sat around the table and all talked together and that you started that off with a prayer of gratitude. It&#8217;s really striking to me how much of an effect that had on your audience and the fact that also people use that as a model. What did you conclude from that? It must have been surprising to you, right? To have that impact?
Willie: It really was because to us, it just seemed like a small part of life that we&#8217;ve done thousands of times. I guess I thought most people would be like, “Oh, they&#8217;re saying a prayer, and that&#8217;s what we all do.” And so [what] was striking to me is that a lot of people didn&#8217;t do that.
Or like I said, they used to do that or they didn&#8217;t do that [anymore]. And it had this big impact on them.

Prayer Is Not A Wish, But A Practice Of Gratitude To Stave Off Resentment

Kirk Cameron, swim champion <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/swim-champ-riley-gaines-drops-shocking-claims-about-lia-thomas-on-crain-co" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Riley Gaines</a> and &#8220;Duck Dynasty&#8221; alum Missy Robertson said they were harassed by staff at a library in Tennessee where they spoke about traditional values about faith and family.
In the week leading up to the preapproved faith-based <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kirk-cameron-calls-attendance-at-faith-based-story-hour-overwhelming-after-he-says-nearly-1000-people-pack-library" target="_blank" rel="noopener">story hour</a> event, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kirk-cameron" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cameron&#8217;s</a> publisher Brave Books said they had started to get pushback from the director at the Hendersonville library Allan Morales, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/kirk-cameron-runs-trouble-tennessee-ahead-patriotic-book-event-negative-pushback" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a> reported. The publisher said Morales &#8220;did not want a movement coming to his library&#8221; after learning who <a href="https://www.amazon.com/s?k=as+you+grow+book&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQiA6fafBhC1ARIsAIJjL8lzWzAA-VXOAJxZE3swDeSSlJo22BHZy-6TEwUjvUUfU0SFiXMuY9gaAudNEALw_wcB&amp;hvadid=323067330915&amp;hvdev=c&amp;hvlocphy=9031869&amp;hvnetw=g&amp;hvqmt=b&amp;hvrand=205687976781233372&amp;hvtargid=kwd-462106938386&amp;hydadcr=22535_10344669&amp;tag=googhydr-20&amp;ref=pd_sl_1znpx9gz5f_b" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cameron</a> was and that he would be joined by Robertson and Gaines. However, the publisher said when the &#8220;library&#8217;s board of directors and the community&#8221; learned this, they were for the story hour and &#8220;the library staff backed down.&#8221;
Robertson told us that she was &#8220;taken off guard&#8221; by what happened that day after being asked to be a guest reader of her book &#8220;<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Because-Youre-Family-Missy-Robertson/dp/1955550085" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Because You&#8217;re My Family</a>.&#8221; Robertson and Cameron started filming at the library for their joint promo hours before the event and that&#8217;s when the first trouble started.
&#8220;We kept hearing all these noises, people laughing and talking,&#8221; Robertson shared. &#8220;And then it just kept getting louder and louder. It sounded like they were slamming books together and kicking cabinets. And Kirk and the head of the library [Morales] kind of had a couple of shouting exchanges. And I thought, okay, something&#8217;s going on here.&#8221;
Robertson said that things became &#8220;almost explosive&#8221; when it was Riley&#8217;s turn to do her promos and that&#8217;s when she turned on her camera.
Gaines — who has been open about having to compete against biological male trans swimmer Lia Thomas — talked to us about what happened. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/IMG_4982.mp4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Video obtained</a> by The Daily Wire from Robertson supported the accounts.
&#8220;I&#8217;m in front of the camera and I&#8217;m filming my piece and all the sudden the staff started blaring music,&#8221; Gaines told us. &#8220;And so I asked them, &#8216;hey guys we have sixty more seconds … I just need to film this one time and then you guys can play all the music you want.'&#8221;
&#8220;And so these older women, librarians, came out from behind the desk and they said &#8216;well, actually we&#8217;re not turning the music off. We&#8217;re using the music, this is how we cope, with the stress that you&#8217;re putting us under. We don&#8217;t have to turn the music off because it&#8217;s for our mental health,'&#8221; she added.
Gaines spoke to Allan about needing the music down and the librarians turned it off. However, as she started talking about her &#8220;personal experience in competing against&#8221; Thomas, sharing that it takes &#8220;power to stand in the truth&#8221; and acknowledge that men and women are, of course, separate, the staff started making noise again.
&#8220;These ladies are slamming books on the counter,&#8221; Gaines said. &#8220;They are stomping their feet, slamming books, and slamming doors. And screeching. I was so baffled by their behavior. So I went up to the desk and I was like &#8216;Are you guys serious? This is the most blatantly disrespectful thing I&#8217;ve ever seen in my life.'&#8221;
&#8220;We are supposed to live in a country where we have freedom of speech, freedom of religion,&#8221; she added. &#8220;Which those both were things that myself and Missy and Kirk were exercising. And to have people look at you like you don&#8217;t belong … is disgusting. And this was in my hometown, I was like, this was supposed to happen in California, not Tennessee.&#8221;
Robertson said, &#8220;This did not happen in California or New York, this happened in Nashville. People are moving from CA and NY to Nashville to get away from this kind of stuff. I told my husband and my father-in-law today, they are coming for our children … I saw it with my own eyes on Saturday and it scared me to death.&#8221;
&#8220;You know we&#8217;ve heard about all the transgender books and the Drag queen [events],&#8221; she added. &#8220;For some reason they&#8217;re not having problems putting that stuff in libraries, but talking about love and joy and gentleness, that&#8217;s a problem? We&#8217;re pretty messed up if that&#8217;s the standard that we are living by, teaching our children now.&#8221;
Chief of Staff at Brave Books, Zach Bell, called the encounter with Morales and his staff &#8220;just terrible.&#8221;
&#8220;We weren&#8217;t trying to be divisive … he [Morales] wanted to give us as little access to the library as possible, just the room that we had rented,&#8221; Bell shared. &#8220;The library director starts acting like a three year old &#8230; Him and two older ladies are clanging coins, playing music.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s as simple as this.&#8221; he added. &#8220;Allan didn&#8217;t know who Kirk Cameron was. He would&#8217;ve denied us the ability to come to the library. He doesn&#8217;t want this movement coming to his library &#8230; And when he found out who we were and what we we were doing who Kirk was &#8230; his goal was for us not to come.&#8221;
Gaines, Robertson, and Bell told us the staff also made it &#8220;difficult for people who were there to attend the event.&#8221; Riley explained that they wouldn&#8217;t let the attendees enter through the main entrance which she said they closed to people who were there for the event. She said the staff then made attendees &#8220;enter through a side door.&#8221;
Robertson said after the public library opened, the staff &#8220;made everyone stand out in the cold and rain.&#8221; She said when she left &#8220;there were hundreds of people and families lined up down the sidewalk, around the building and down the street standing in the cold.&#8221;
Bell told us they estimate that 700 people showed up for two book readings and said he wasn&#8217;t sure why the staff made the families stay out in the cold and rain until they all could filter into the conference room that held 300 people at a time.
The Daily Wire reached out to the Director of the Public library in Hendersonville, who told us that &#8220;with all the stuff that has gone back and forth&#8221; he would &#8220;not like to comment&#8221; and that he&#8217;s &#8220;going to stay out of it.&#8221;

&#8220;Duck Dynasty&#8221; reality star brothers Jase and Jep Robertson are headed back to TV with the &#8220;Duck Family Treasure&#8221; show on Fox Nation where they will be joined by other family members.
&#8220;Each episode will feature the Robertson family as they search for precious treasures, rare artifacts, and hidden gems,&#8221; the official logline reads, <a href="https://deadline.com/2022/03/duck-dynasty-spinoff-duck-family-treasure-fox-nation-1234984961/">reported</a> Deadline magazine in a piece published Wednesday.
&#8220;Throughout their journey, the Robertsons will also showcase the people, places, and lessons they encounter along the way,&#8221; it added. &#8220;Missy and Jessica Robertson, Jase and Jep&#8217;s wives, and other members of the Robertson family will also be featured on the show.&#8221;

They weren&#8217;t politically correct, and they celebrated family and God. It was a huge success.
The patriarch of the family, Phil, has never been afraid to speak about issues that might lead to being canceled — something he experienced early on in the show. He ended up being put on a brief hiatus following calls to have him taken off the air over an interview he gave to <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/duck-dynasty-phil-robertson">GQ Magazine</a> in 2013 in which he labeled homosexuality sinful, reported the outlet. The 75-year-old reality star said he had &#8220;just quoted a Bible verse,&#8221; <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/duck-dynasty-phil-robertson-cancel-culture-past-suspension">reported</a> Fox News at the time.
Robertson recently spoke to Daily Wire&#8217;s &#8220;Morning Wire&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/duck-dynastys-phil-robertsons-new-book-tells-his-haters-i-love-you-i-forgive-you-for-canceling-me-jesus-loves-you-too">podcast</a> to discuss that incident and his newest book — &#8220;Uncanceled: Finding Meaning and Peace in a Culture of Accusations, Shame, and Condemnation.&#8221;

‘Duck Dynasty’ Brothers Headed Back To TV With ‘Duck Family Treasure’

Phil Robertson, the patriarch behind the beloved television show &#8220;Duck Dynasty,&#8221; an A&amp;E reality show about his Louisiana family, their Christian life, and their duck hunting business, recently sat down with The Daily Wire&#8217;s &#8220;Morning Wire&#8221; podcast to <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Uncanceled-Finding-Meaning-Accusations-Condemnation/dp/1400230179">discuss his newest book</a> — &#8220;Uncanceled: Finding Meaning and Peace in a Culture of Accusations, Shame, and Condemnation.&#8221; &#8220;Uncanceled&#8221; was published in February, but Robertson told the Morning Wire that the inspiration behind his book started much earlier than that after he was canceled from the Duck Dynasty TV show for expressing his Christian belief that marriage is between a man and a woman.
Robertson told the Morning Wire that Christians should not be surprised if they are hated by popular culture because it comes with the territory in following Jesus Christ. Yet by spreading the message of the gospel and introducing others to Savior of the World, Christians can also help reorient America back toward respectful conversations with one another and create a culture of peace and forgiveness — something he hopes &#8220;Uncanceled&#8221; can help bring about. He also emphasized that he does not hate anybody. He loves everybody and wants them to know and love Jesus, too.

While reading Scripture, he came across a letter from Paul to Timothy that resonated with the current time America was living in, and what he experienced thanks to an unruly public lacking Christian principles.
&#8220;&#8216;Mark this,&#8217; the apostle Paul wrote this to Timothy, a young preacher, so the apostle Paul, when he said, &#8216;Mark, this,&#8217; that means you better pay attention to this one. &#8216;There will be terrible times. In the last days, people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive disobedient to their parents, ungrateful unholy,&#8217;  and — check this out — &#8216;without love and  unforgiving.'&#8221; Robertson told Morning Wire host  John Bickley. 
&#8220;Well, when I read that, I said, &#8216;Well, that&#8217;s what the people that are running around canceling everybody trying to ostracize them,'&#8221; he continued. &#8220;They&#8217;re trying to accuse them. They trying to shame them. They&#8217;re trying to condemn them. And they themselves are like all other humans.&#8221;
&#8220;We all have sins, all of us, but this bunch,&#8221; Robertson said of the Left, &#8220;they are unforgiving — meaning if one of our founders made a mistake, whatever, any kind of mistake they will not forgive for a second.&#8221;
&#8220;So, I just thought I needed to liven it up a little bit and show them that we love them,&#8221; he said as to why he wrote the book.
&#8220;Everybody&#8217;s a sinner and we all make mistakes, but this bunch cuts us no slack,&#8221; Robertson added of those who partake in cancel culture. 
Robertson affirmed it was his &#8220;duty&#8221; as a Christian to echo what the Bible says, which is another reason why we he wrote the book. 
When asked if the intended audience will hear the book, Robertson responded, &#8220;I don&#8217;t know what they will, how they will respond to this. I just thought it was needed.&#8221;
Robertson also told the Morning Wire that at age 28, he heard for the first time that Christ loves all and forgives all sins for those who ask for repentance. When he heard that message, he said, &#8220;I think I&#8217;m on the wrong side of this thing,&#8221; and has been following Christ ever since.
&#8220;These people come along,&#8221; Robertson said of his haters, &#8220;And they begin to persecute me and hate me for living a Godly life in Christ Jesus. And I love them.&#8221;
&#8220;And so does Jesus, and they&#8217;re sitting there condemning us, and not forgiving us like, like the Lord did,&#8221; he continued.
&#8220;So the weight of their behavior, — trust me —when I tell you is going to come up them, and it&#8217;s not going to be a pretty picture,&#8221; he added, &#8220;So I&#8217;m hoping that they&#8217;ll embrace Jesus and that they will love God.”
“All Jesus said we need to do at the end of the day is love God and love our neighbor,” he remarked. &#8220;You just think about it, it&#8217;s simple, but that is very profound, my man.&#8221;
At age 75, Robertson also recently started a podcast, despite never owning a cell phone and having little experience with computers. But, he realized it would allow him to spread the Word of God to millions of people.

&#8220;Duck Dynasty&#8221; stars Willie and Korie Robertson have been in love with their biracial son, Will, ever since they adopted him, though they admit to having experienced some outside adversity.
Speaking with &#8220;Love and Hip Hop&#8221; cast members Yandy-Smith Harris and Mendeecees Harris on their new show &#8220;At Home with the Robertsons,&#8221; Korrie recalled being told that white people should not adopt black people while Willie was told that biracial children are the &#8220;hardest ones to place here in the south.&#8221;
&#8220;I remember my grandmother had a friend who&#8217;s Black that expressed to her that she felt like White people shouldn&#8217;t adopt Black kids. I think she just felt like Black people should adopt Black people and White people should adopt White people,&#8221; Korie said, as reported by <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/duck-dynasty-willie-korie-robertson-biracial-son-ugly-comments">Fox News</a>. &#8220;But I just think that&#8217;s not helpful.&#8221;
Their son Will&#8217;s skin color didn&#8217;t actually become a full-fledged subject of conversation until their A&amp;E show kicked off.
&#8220;We didn&#8217;t think about it until the show happened and people were like, &#8216;Wait who&#8217;s the Black kid? Who does he belong to?'&#8221; Korie recalled hearing.
When asked, Will said that he didn&#8217;t start to feel different from his white peers until he got a bit older.
&#8220;I was one of the only Black kids in my grade,&#8221; Will said. &#8220;My friends were White so I didn&#8217;t get the notion that I was [different]. I would look myself in the mirror and be like, &#8216;Oh, I&#8217;m just a little bit tanner.&#8217; My hair was short&#8230;I didn&#8217;t have all this texture that I have now so I was just like, &#8216;I kind of am just one of them.&#8217; As I got older I started realizing, &#8216;Oh gosh, I&#8217;m a lot different.&#8221;
Willie even recalled the &#8220;ugly&#8221; comments they would sometimes receive. &#8220;For us it was weird because now he can see that,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We didn&#8217;t see that and we had people do all kind of ugly things.&#8221;
&#8220;I remember when the <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/charlottesville-white-nationalist-rally-blamed-for-3-deaths-dozens-of-injuries" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Charlottesville</a> thing happened. It&#8217;s just so sad to me, and you know, having a son that&#8217;s Black and biracial, just to, you know, have to explain that to him, you wanna say, &#8216;Oh, no, no, no, no&#8230;that&#8217;s in the past.&#8217; But whenever it&#8217;s right there in your face, you&#8217;re like, &#8216;No, it&#8217;s not in the past,'&#8221; Korrie said.
When asked if they ever talked with their son about how to encounter police officers, both Willie and Korrie admitted that they were not exactly worried about that type of situation.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve never once worried about that. I think I taught them to be respectful to any type of authority, with teachers, everyone,&#8221; Willie said.
&#8220;You haven&#8217;t had to think about that, but these are the kinds of conversations that [Mendeecees] has to have with his sons,&#8221; Yandy responded. &#8220;We can cut off the beard. We can not get tattoos, and we can prevent those things from happening but you can&#8217;t wash off your skin.&#8221;

‘Duck Dynasty’ Stars Talk Raising A Biracial Son

“Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson reported that on Friday afternoon his family and home in West Monroe, Louisiana, were targeted by a drive-by shooter. “One of the shots went through the bedroom window of the home where son John Luke Robertson lives with his wife Mary Kate McEachern and their infant child, but nobody in the family was injured,” according to <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2020/04/26/drive-by-shooters-spray-duck-dynasty-star-willie-robertsons-estate-eoyj-bullets/3030341001/">USA Today</a>.
Robertson told USA Today, &#8220;We were pretty shook up. It looks like they were just spraying bullets across my property.” He added that it was lucky the shooting had not happened earlier, saying, &#8220;Nobody was outside at the time, but everybody had been out about five minutes before. I had just gone to the store when it happened.&#8221;
The property and the several houses included within it are not near the main road; Robertson stated that multiple witnesses saw a truck in which more than one person rode by the property at 2:33 p.m. The vehicle was videotaped by a surveillance system; it was reportedly a white over brown or beige Ford F-250 with large aftermarket tires and rims.
Robertson said he felt the suspects knew they were firing at his property, adding, “I&#8217;m 100% certain, but I don&#8217;t know why.”
Among the people living on the property were Robertson and his wife Korie, John Luke, his wife Mary Kate McEachern and their infant son, as well as the Robertsons’ daughter Sadie and her new husband Christian Huff.
Robertson said, &#8220;I&#8217;ve been in close contact with the investigators. It seems local to me, but I can&#8217;t be sure.&#8221;
On Saturday, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office reported they had made an arrest in connection with the shooting, writing on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/OuachitaParishSheriffsOffice/photos/a.154285508242604/1137694133235065/?type=3&amp;theater">Facebook</a>: &#8220;The investigation has led to the arrest of Daniel King, Jr. King has been charged with 1 count of Aggravated Assault by Drive By Shooting and booked into OCC.&#8221;
<a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/home-duck-dynasty-star-willie-robertson-struck-gunfire-n1193031">NBC News</a> reported, “The witnesses said a man who appeared to be in his teens or 20s was driving the truck, and other people were in the vehicle, Springfield said. It wasn&#8217;t immediately clear if King was the driver.” The <a href="https://www.thenewsstar.com/story/news/2020/04/26/man-arrested-duck-dynasty-drive-by-shooting-willie-robertson/3031251001/">News Star</a> reported that King was 38 years old.
Willie Robertson <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/duck-dynasty-stars-reveal-family-divide-trump-support/story?id=46573039">threw his support</a> behind Donald Trump in the presidential election in 2016. He said of discussing politics with his family, “Literally up until Election Day we were having discussions, you know, I understand &#8230; and I hate that the world, you know, America&#8217;s so polarized now and so hopefully we can figure out a way to work together and, you know, figure some things out for our country.&#8221;
He added of his support of Trump, &#8220;You know, it&#8217;s like you respect people, and try to love people, and help people, and that&#8217;s who I was behind. And, you know, lo and behold, when I was behind him, I don&#8217;t think anyone was at the time. That was pretty early.&#8221; He stated, &#8220;He&#8217;s not a politician and so that&#8217;s what I loved about him is that he&#8217;s not a politician. He&#8217;s not polished and he says stuff.&#8221;

Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson will return to the airwaves this fall in a new Internet-only show for CRTV, the conservative online television network that boasts the likes of Michelle Malkin and Steven Crowder.
The Robertson family reality show called it quits last year after more than ten seasons, where Americans followed Phil and his brood&#8217;s exploits, navigating the duck call business, handling family drama, and often cooking delicious food for huge numbers of people (no joke, Miss Kay&#8217;s food is really the best).
But like some of his family members &#8212; including granddaughter Sadie Robertson &#8212; Phil never intended his career in political and social commentary to end with his reality television sitcom. So he&#8217;ll begin production on In The Woods With Phil, a show that puts his beliefs front and center &#8212; and will bypass the rules of political correctness.
<a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/phil-robertson-star-new-show-will-reject-political-correctness-1047866">In a promotional clip provided to the Hollywood Reporter</a>, Phil addresses the temporary suspension he received from A&amp;E after suggesting to GQ that the Bible might frown on sexual impropriety (though that&#8217;s kind of a watered-down version of his actual quote, which likened homosexual sex to bestiality).
&#8220;What does a man do when they try to run him out of town for quoting a Bible verse?&#8221; Robertson asks in the clip. &#8220;I tell you what he does; he goes deep in the woods.&#8221;
That&#8217;s just the tip of the iceberg. Robertson definitely wants to be controversial, and told reporters that he&#8217;s going to talk about what he calls hard truths; you tune in, you&#8217;ll hear it straight.
&#8220;For far too long we have been told to shut up. No more. Here&#8217;s the deal, America. These are my woods. Out here, I call the shots. Out here, we reject political correctness, or as I like to say, &#8216;pontificated crap,'&#8221; he said.
&#8220;Most media are ashamed of America, its values, and just has an aversion to plain old common sense,&#8221; <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/phil-robertson-star-new-show-will-reject-political-correctness-1047866">Robertson continued</a>. &#8220;What did I hear today? That a girl can now be a Boy Scout? The name is &#8216;Boy Scout.&#8217; How hard is that to understand? If liberals and Hollywood elites are going to pressure a network and advertisers to abandon me for saying something that is common sense as &#8216;you need to be a boy to be a Boy Scout,&#8217; then I am going to go where they can&#8217;t silence me. I have never been one to shut up.&#8221;
