Comedian and HBO host Bill Maher demanded answers when he discovered that former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg — who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 and garnered a sizable chunk of the party&#8217;s support — was getting no love from black voters.
Maher discussed the <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5430756-buttigieg-black-voter-challenge/">phenomenon</a> with guests Dr. Phil McGraw and Stephen A. Smith during his Friday night panel discussion, and it was Smith who finally gave him an answer: &#8220;[Buttigieg] doesn&#8217;t move us.&#8221;

&#8220;Democratic primary voters, 16% would support Buttigieg,&#8221; Maher read from his show notes. &#8220;That&#8217;s the highest of any candidate. Pete Buttigieg.&#8221;
Smith&#8217;s response to that was immediate: &#8220;I don&#8217;t believe it. I think that&#8217;s just a poll number. I can&#8217;t see that happening.&#8221;
Maher went on to qualify his initial statement, noting that there was some disparity in that support.
&#8220;Okay, but wait. 16%. Black voters? Zero,&#8221; Maher clarified. &#8220;Zero. You don&#8217;t usually see zero. Anywhere. Zero&#8217;s low.&#8221;
&#8220;For who?&#8221; Smith quipped.
&#8220;For Buttigieg,&#8221; Maher said. &#8220;Okay, explain that. I mean — why do black voters have this — I mean, he&#8217;s a nice guy &#8230;&#8221;
&#8220;Yeah, he&#8217;s under indexing a little bit with black voters,&#8221; McGraw added with a laugh.
&#8220;A little? What is that all about.&#8221; Maher asked again.
&#8220;He doesn&#8217;t move us,&#8221; Smith replied, prompting laughs from Maher and the audience. &#8220;I respect the man. I&#8217;ve interviewed him before. Very nice man, highly intelligent. But you gotta be able to move us, bro. He doesn&#8217;t move us.&#8221;
The audience kept laughing as he added, &#8220;You can speculate as to why that is, I&#8217;m not going there. He doesn&#8217;t move us.&#8221;
Comments from popular radio host Charlamagne tha God appear to back up Smith&#8217;s assertions, as he complained in 2024 that the Democratic Party had no viable prospects ahead of 2028.

Dr. Phil McGraw laid into the American political Left over an American Eagle ad campaign featuring actress Sydney Sweeney, trashing them for comparing the ad campaign to the eugenics-based goals of Adolf Hitler&#8217;s Nazi regime.
The popular television host and author shared a few of the more unhinged reactions from the Left — namely that by featuring an attractive white girl and stating that she &#8220;has good jeans&#8221; (read: &#8220;good genes&#8221;) obviously implies that white people are genetically superior — and argued that they were taking their attempts to cancel everything a little bit too far.

McGraw began by noting that if there was a legitimate issue with the ads — which many pointed out would have been indistinguishable from the mainstream just two decades earlier — there was certainly room to have a conversation about that. Still, the Left appeared to prefer simply jumping straight to cancellation.
&#8220;The woke Left is again jumping at the opportunity to shame and cancel everyone and everything that rubs them the wrong way. Don&#8217;t miss a chance,&#8221; he explained. &#8220;Instead of having a cancel culture, a civilized conversation, they&#8217;re screaming at their social media feeds, comparing the ad to Nazi Germany.&#8221;
He went on to say that he found the comparisons to the Holocaust particularly &#8220;insulting,&#8221; mainly because instead of the desired effect — to make people think that Sweeney&#8217;s ad was actually as bad as Nazi propaganda — the comments from the Left did the opposite, minimizing the atrocities perpetrated by the Nazi regime.
&#8220;I have to say these Holocaust analogies are insulting. They&#8217;re insulting. McGraw <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/01/27/us-news/tv-host-dr-phil-films-as-ice-targets-migrants-in-chicago/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">embedded</a> with U.S. immigration officers during deportation raids and interviewed Sam Seda, a Thai national whom border czar Tom Homan stated was “an illegal alien convicted of sex crimes involving children.” “He’s walking the streets of Chicago,” Homan added.
McGraw asked Seda if he’d “been charged with sex crimes involving children,” as Homan had stated, prompting Seda to answer, “Not really.”
“Here in America, we don’t have show trials nor do we ritualistically lambaste such people in service of political power or television ratings,” the Tribune editorial board huffed. “Unlike some nations, we don’t hang, beat or interrogate people in the public square, either.”
Then the Tribune vilified McGraw, saying, “We were astonished to see Phil McGraw, a man who uses a sobriquet that includes the word ‘doctor,’ embedding himself with ICE, a questionable move in and of itself for a person who has claimed to heal, and then literally shining a spotlight on a Thai national who was rounded up by ICE on Sunday in Chicago.&#8221;
The Tribune wrote dramatically, “Dr. Phil’s quarry told him he recognized him from TV and then took part, consciously or not, in his own ritual humiliation for a hungry TV audience.”
After acknowledging that the man &#8220;reportedly was a convicted sex offender and internet predator, and we want him gone,” the Tribune took a swipe at the Trump administration, writing, “We understand the propaganda value, too, for a Trump administration that wants to confirm the president’s point that there are bad people in this city and state without legal authorization.”
“There was something profoundly unsettling about a man who found fame and a huge fortune in our city on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show,’ a man who made his bones by offering advice to often vulnerable guests as a psychotherapist would, someone who set himself up as an avuncular healer, telling people how to nurture their relationship with their spouse or cope after a relationship has fallen apart,” the Tribune complained.
Not yet done attacking the Trump administration, the Tribune snapped, “We get why Donald Trump’s Department of Justice wants him there: It implies that such people won’t just be removed; they’ll be humiliated at the same time.”
Incredibly, the Tribune then compared Dr. Phil to the Taliban, writing, “Given the abhorrent nature of the Thai national’s crimes, it’s easy to say that’s all fine. Take all the licks you want, Dr. Phil But it’s not. The Taliban do not roam the streets of Chicago, and their modus operandi should not be applied here.”

TV personality <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dr-phil-mcgraw">Dr. Phil</a> defended the actions of Border Czar Tom Homan while going along for a raid with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/immigration-and-customs-enforcement-ice">ICE</a>) on Sunday.
The 74-year-old talk show host <a href="https://x.com/DrPhil/status/1883669382242644069">posted</a> a clip from his Merit TV network on X, saying that one of the men detained in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/chicago">Chicago</a>, who was later identified as Sam Seda from Thailand, was discovered to be convicted of sex crimes involving children.
Dr. Phil, whose real name is Phil McGraw, asked Seda if he had ever been charged with sex crimes involving children.
“Not really,” Seda replied.
“Not really?!” McGraw said incredulously. “And never been deported?” he continued.
“Nope,” Seda confirmed.
When McGraw asked if he was a citizen, the illegal alien said, “My mom’s a citizen.”
“Again, the downfall, the problem with a sanctuary city is that people like this [are] walking the street rather than having law enforcement working with federal agents,” Homan said. “This is what we’re dealing with.”
Homan next told his agents, &#8216;Let&#8217;s take him in, process him, and lock him up.”

“This is an example of sanctuary cities, right,” Homan told McGraw, saying the man they detained was one of 270 “high-value targets” they were looking for under President Donald Trump’s new mass deportation policy.
“We’ve got an illegal alien convicted of sex crimes involving children and he’s walking the streets of Chicago,” the border czar added.
McGraw had previously posted about his plans to accompany ICE during raids, saying, “It’s a pretty high-risk mission we’re going on. This truly is a targeted ICE mission, because they’re not sweeping neighborhoods like people are trying to imply.”
In another clip <a href="https://x.com/DrPhil/status/1883616999575851514">shared</a> on X, McGraw spoke with Homan about arresting Seda. Homan called the allegations that the deportation strategy was racist, calling such claims “hogwash” while denying that federal agents were rounding up children.
“He shouldn’t even be here, but he’s doing this,” Homan said. He also expressed frustration that community members were refusing to report illegal immigrants like Seda, who were “preying on our children.”
Homan told McGraw that prominent Illinois Democrats like Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson “want to vilify the men of ICE.”
ICE made 956 arrests nationwide on Sunday, the agency <a href="https://x.com/ICEgov/status/1883680858453705153">announced</a> on X. Agents have been targeting migrant criminals every day since President Donald Trump took office last week.

President-elect Donald Trump&#8217;s incoming border czar is planning on using a 1,400-acre site in Texas to stage the administration&#8217;s plans to conduct mass deportations of illegal aliens.
The state of Texas purchased the land earlier this year in Starr County, which is in the Rio Grande Valley sector near the U.S.-Mexico border.
Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham said in a letter to Trump last month that her office was &#8220;fully prepared to enter into an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or the United States Border Patrol to allow a facility to be built for the processing, detention, and coordination of the largest deportation of violent criminals in the nation’s history.&#8221;

McGraw made the remarks at Trump&#8217;s rally at Madison Square Garden before a sold out crowd just days before the 2024 election.
&#8220;[Trump]&#8217;s got lots of enemies, different groups that are scared, and between them, they have impeached him, indicted him, raided him, railroaded him, shot him, and sued him,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And where is he? He is still standing.&#8221;
&#8220;I can be honest and say I don&#8217;t like or agree everything that Donald J Trump does or says,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;I mean, come on, nobody agrees with everything or likes everything somebody else says or does, right? No human is perfect. We don&#8217;t strive for perfection. We strive for excellence. But you don&#8217;t have to love everything about someone in order to love them, and the last thing he needs is some celebrity endorsement.&#8221;
He said that the reason he came to speak at the rally was to tell Trump&#8217;s supporters that they needed to &#8220;stand up for the people who have declared their support for Donald J Trump, or they got found out, or they want to do it, but they&#8217;re too intimidated.&#8221;
&#8220;Because you know what happens when somebody in this country says, &#8216;Hey, I&#8217;m going to vote Republican, I&#8217;m going to vote Donald J Trump?'&#8221; he asked. &#8220;They get canceled, intimidated, marginalized, excluded, or even fired or boycotted. And you know what that means? In short, that adds up to being bullied.&#8221;
&#8220;Bullying is when you seek to harm somebody, you seek to intimidate, coerce, cause distress, fear, risk to their well being,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And it can be physical, verbal, relational or cyber bullying. And it&#8217;s always wrong. It is always wrong when you bully somebody, and that&#8217;s what&#8217;s going on.&#8221;
He noted that in order to be a bully &#8220;there has to be an imbalance of power, and when there&#8217;s not, it&#8217;s just called a debate&#8221; which is why he believes Trump is not a bully.
&#8220;He&#8217;s just better at it than anybody else,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It&#8217;s called debating. It&#8217;s called arguing. It&#8217;s not bullying unless there&#8217;s an imbalance of power. And whoever he talks to, they&#8217;ve got a microphone, they got on their big boy pants, they got a stage, they got everything else. He&#8217;s just better at it. And the same thing is true when the Democrats or Harris call him fascist, Hitler, racist, misogynist or a crook. Is that bullying? Well, not really. It&#8217;s ugly, but with the First Amendment, which we all want to keep, there&#8217;s no imbalance of power.&#8221;
He said that if people witness others being bullied that it was their responsibility to stand up and put a stop to it.
&#8220;When you say you love America, that&#8217;s a verb that also means you love Americans,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You&#8217;ve got to push back and call out the bullies. You&#8217;ve got to stand with those that have targets in their lives, targets, if they&#8217;re picking on them by calling their jobs to get them fired, boycotts or kicking them out of their jobs or their groups at church.&#8221;

McGraw made the remarks after repeatedly warning throughout the pandemic about the dangers that the lockdowns would have on people, especially children.
&#8220;When I stepped up in the beginning and said this lockdown, this quarantine, is going to create more problems with quality of life than that COVID is going to do in taking lives — people looked at me like I was insane,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I got criticized, called a &#8216;heretic,&#8217; ‘what is he talking about?’ I’ll tell you what I was talking about, I was talking about exactly what happened and is happening.&#8221;
&#8220;And what&#8217;s more, when you shut down the schools, the day you shut them down, you better have a plan for reopening them. I didn’t see a plan for them to be reopened,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;And we have an entire generation that is suffering from developmental gaps, educational gaps, mental and emotional challenges and still there’s not a good plan to close those gaps. And my concern is when the next pandemic turns the corner, who’s got the plan then? What was learned from this? Because you don&#8217;t hear anybody talking about it, do you? You don&#8217;t hear anybody talking about it, but I&#8217;m talking about it because I want to make noise about this, I want to force people to say, &#8216;we need to get ready for when this happens again.&#8217; And I&#8217;m not some conspiracy theorist saying they&#8217;re coming to get us and lock us up.&#8221;

During an interview with TMZ this week, McGraw gave a slightly more detailed response on the question.
&#8220;One of my specialties, back when I was in practice was brain and central nervous system and cognitive ability, cognitive agility, and these things can be defined objectively, such as memory, of course, and what&#8217;s called working memory, the ability to comprehend, put sentences together, express yourself,&#8221; McGraw said. &#8220;All of these things are very measurable.&#8221;
&#8220;And if you really had nothing to hide, I think you would hide nothing,&#8221; he added. &#8220;And if you&#8217;d had no problem with neurological deficits, wouldn&#8217;t you want to crow about that? Wouldn&#8217;t you want to have a transparent neurocognitive examination and show the world that was the case? That kills the issue in the election.&#8221;

Dr. Phil McGraw slammed the leftist co-hosts of ABC&#8217;s &#8220;The View&#8221; this week during an intense discussion about the impacts of COVID lockdowns on school children.
McGraw said that the mental health of children largely began declining in 2008 with the advent of smartphones and social media.
&#8220;In like &#8217;08, &#8217;09, smartphones came in and kids stopped living their lives and started watching people live their lives,&#8221; he said. &#8220;So we saw the biggest spike and the highest levels of depression, anxiety, loneliness, and suicidality since records have ever been kept. And it&#8217;s just continued on and on and on.&#8221;
&#8220;And then COVID hits 10 years later and the same agencies that knew that are the agencies that shut down the schools for 2 years,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Who does that? Who takes away the support system for these children? Who takes it away and shuts it down? By the way, when they shut it up they stopped the mandated reporters from being able to see children that were being abused and sexually molested and, in fact, sent them home and abandoned them to their abusers with no way to watch.  And referrals dropped 50-60%.&#8221;
Co-host Sunny Hostin snapped back, “There was also a pandemic going on and they were trying to save their lives.”
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg agreed, claiming that the government was &#8220;trying to save kids&#8217; lives&#8221;. “We know a lot of folks who died during this,&#8221; she said. &#8220;People weren’t laying around eating bonbons —”
McGraw fired back, noting that school aged children were not dying from the pandemic.
&#8220;Well, you know what? We’re lucky,&#8221; Goldberg claimed. &#8220;Maybe we’re lucky they didn’t, because they kept them out of the places that they could be safe because no one wanted to believe we had an issue.&#8221;
Co-host Ana Navarro asked McGraw: “Are you saying no school children died of COVID?”
“I’m saying it was the safest group,” McGraw responded. “They were the less vulnerable group, and they suffered and will suffer more from the mismanagement of COVID than they will from the exposure to COVID, and that’s not an opinion, that’s a fact.”

Dr. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dr-phil-mcgraw" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Phil McGraw</a> blasted authority figures this week for pushing children to become transgender, saying that they were causing long term damage to the kids, while also warning that social media is causing the issue to become a &#8220;social contagion.&#8221;
McGraw made the remarks during an interview with Joe Rogan on &#8220;The Joe Rogan Experience&#8221; while discussing the hotly debated topic.
&#8220;It&#8217;s interesting, [officials] choose words like &#8216;gender affirming care,'&#8221; he said. &#8220;But really what they&#8217;re talking about is hormonal therapy or sex reassignment surgery on children. And, in fairness, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Endocrine Society, or whatever the exact name of that is, all of the major medical associations have signed off on this. They signed off on it. And I have never seen those organizations sign off on anything with less information as to whether or not it does long term harm of anything in my life. And when I asked about that, when I bring that up, then they immediately label you as transphobic.&#8221;
McGraw noted that numerous European countries have reversed course on the transgender issue because they recognized that it is harmful to children.
&#8220;[Officials&#8217;] reason for doing it is it stops this drive for suicide, that there&#8217;s a suicide epidemic,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;It doesn&#8217;t fix that, it doesn&#8217;t fix all the comorbid issues that come along with feeling like they&#8217;re in the wrong body. But yet they&#8217;re pushing this. And it&#8217;s, we&#8217;re going to do some shows that are already taped, that are revealing what the real results of this are. And I think people are going to be shocked that these medical organizations have signed off on this. I think they&#8217;ve just given in to the pressure.&#8221;

McGraw warned about what was happening in some of America&#8217;s public schools with teachers actively working to undermine the relationships that children have with their parents.
&#8220;First off, if this is either a psychological phenomenon, or a medical phenomenon, and the teachers are not trained in either psychology or medicine, they&#8217;re not any more trained to deal with that than they are to take out the kid&#8217;s spleen in the home room,&#8221; he said. &#8220;So if that&#8217;s true, if it&#8217;s a psychological thing, if it&#8217;s gender dysphoria, or it&#8217;s a medical issue, then you need someone trained in child psychology, psychiatry, or medicine. And the teacher is not trained in any of those three things. Like I say, they&#8217;re not any more trained in that than they are to take out the child&#8217;s spleen. So how are they qualified to deal with that?&#8221;
&#8220;Secondly, it&#8217;s teaching the child to keep a secret from their parents, it&#8217;s teaching deception, and interfering between the child&#8217;s relationship with their parent,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Now, their justification for that is well, if the child goes home and announces this, or if we tell it to the parent, then the child could get abused, the child could get judged, the child could get kicked to the curb. But they have to admit, statistically, that that is very rare. And if that&#8217;s the case, that&#8217;s what we have the Department of Child and Family Services for, that&#8217;s what we have child protective services for. If that&#8217;s the case, then you call in for some intervention if the child is being abused at home, for whatever reason, then you get intervention in that way. But you don&#8217;t come between the child and their parent. The parent has the right to know what&#8217;s going on.&#8221;
Rogan noted that children were gullible and easy to manipulate, which he said was why Islamic terrorists &#8220;have little kids become suicide bombers.&#8221;
&#8220;Because you can talk kids into almost anything,&#8221; Rogan said. &#8220;You can talk them into believing in Santa Claus. You talk kids into believing in all kinds of ridiculous shit because they&#8217;re really young. You can easily convince them in one way or another that they&#8217;re anything, that they&#8217;re queer, that they&#8217;re trans, you could 100% convinced some kids have of all kinds of things, especially by reinforcing it with love and support and happiness, you can convince people of a lot of things.&#8221;
McGraw said that the entire transgender issue was not &#8220;appropriate or safe for children&#8221; and that those who say that the effects of transgender procedures are reversible are lying.
He said that he believes that &#8220;a lot&#8221; of what is driving the transgender phenomena onto young people was &#8220;social media platforms and the internet.&#8221;
&#8220;I think, this is what I&#8217;m talking about when I say the activists, I don&#8217;t think speak for the community at large,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I think they get an agenda that they&#8217;re pushing, and I think they really get wrapped up in this and it gets a lot of oxygen on the internet. It gets a lot of oxygen on social media platforms. Now they say there&#8217;s no social contagion here, but the girls that are claiming to be transgender, that percentage has gone up 800%, 1,000% over the last several years.&#8221;
&#8220;And they say, &#8216;Well, that&#8217;s because they feel more comfortable talking about it now.&#8217; Is that true? Or is it because you read about it, you see it on social media, and you think, &#8216;Well, I can distinguish myself in this way?'&#8221; he continued. &#8220;I think there is a social contagion effect. So people jump on the bandwagon. And if it&#8217;s for a short period of time, but they&#8217;ve done things that can&#8217;t be reversed, I think that&#8217;s really tragic. And they say there are very few detransitioners. I don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s true. I think there&#8217;s a lot more detransitioners that want to reverse this and come back than are being reported.&#8221;

Dr. Phillip C. McGraw, commonly known as Dr. Phil, slammed woke elite universities for not standing up to extremist student organizations that celebrated Hamas&#8217; terrorist attacks on Israel two weeks ago.
McGraw published a video on X speaking out about the October 7 attacks, which was the bloodiest day for Israel over 75 years.
&#8220;The Hamas invaders were not soldiers. They were assassins,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The Hamas charter calls for the ultimate annihilation of all Israeli Jews, followed by the annihilation of Jews around the world. Sound familiar? Sadly, some people, including some right here in America actually celebrated the slaughter and blame those being murdered, raped and kidnapped.&#8221;
&#8220;Many of America&#8217;s most respected elite universities are not only indulging but actually endorsing sanctioned student organizations holding celebrations for the murders,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Harvard, Yale, Georgetown, UCLA, and Stanford are high profile examples that should raise concern if not outrage.&#8221;
McGraw said that the reactions of the student groups revealed a &#8220;disturbing degree of ivy-covered intellectual rot&#8221; at America&#8217;s alleged top schools.
&#8220;Americans nationwide have been appalled and shocked,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The leadership of these supposedly highly sophisticated schools are so busy virtue signaling and coddling students who think that words are violence, but violence, horrific, inhumane violence is social justice, that they have forgotten it is their job to teach their students to think and to test reality. Instead of training tomorrow&#8217;s leaders, they are profoundly demagnetizing our culture&#8217;s moral compass among the college population.&#8221;
McGraw that while he was no expert in geopolitics, it only takes basic common sense to recognize Hamas&#8217; attacks as &#8220;utterly sick, twisted, disgusting, and inexcusable.&#8221;
&#8220;You cannot negotiate with people whose only acceptable outcome is to murder you and your entire race,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Seriously, have some of these people gotten together and collectively lost their minds? We know right from wrong, and we must stand up for what we believe and know is right. We must call out these institutions. How is any of this acceptable to anyone? How is it not recognized as incredibly racist? How do elite educators not recognize this is a huge teachable moment in the student&#8217;s journey?&#8221;
&#8220;The heads of the schools need to simply say on this campus, we don&#8217;t celebrate racism, anti-Semitism, baby killing, and murdering,&#8221; he concluded. &#8220;What they are doing instead is distancing themselves in hopes it blows over. Israel is our friend and ally. They don&#8217;t need us to just be their friend in good times. They need us to be their friend in bad times, to be their friend when it is easier not to be. Good friends are the ones coming in the door when everyone else is going out. This is a really great time to show Israel and the world who we are.&#8221;

Dr. Phillip C. McGraw, commonly known as Dr. Phil, said during a recent discussion with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) that government officials who decided to shut down schools during the COVID pandemic were &#8220;throwing gas on a fire&#8221; in terms of exacerbating the existing problems facing America&#8217;s youth.
The second half of McGraw&#8217;s remarks during a special appearance on Cruz’s “Verdict” podcast last week were released on Tuesday.
&#8220;Right now, almost a third of fifth and eighth graders can&#8217;t read at the most fundamental level,&#8221; McGraw said. &#8220;They can&#8217;t read a sentence. And the question is, how did they get in the fifth grade? How did they get into the eighth grade? 19% of high school graduates can&#8217;t read. They cannot read.&#8221;
&#8220;How do you graduate high school, if you can&#8217;t read in the first, second, and third grade?&#8221; McGraw continued. &#8220;From the fourth grade on you read to learn. So, if you don&#8217;t learn to read in those first three grades, you don&#8217;t have that tool to learn for the rest of your life. And if teachers are going to pass them either way, then you&#8217;re just setting them up to fail.&#8221;
McGraw said he was called an &#8220;idiot&#8221; when he spoke out against shutting schools down for more than a couple of weeks and said remote teaching would do more damage to society than the virus itself.
&#8220;I think I&#8217;ve got 15 clips of different times that I said, shutting this country down and taking our kids out of school for a prolonged period of time and the epidemiological pediatricians estimate that it will cost somewhere around 15 million years of life lost for these kids,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And they figure that because you got roughly 50 million kids in public school plus the private schools and because of what they lost; they will never close that gap.&#8221;
McGraw explained how students missing that time in school would lead to them achieving less academically, leading to less appealing job opportunities later.

&#8220;Lesser jobs are usually higher risk jobs because they&#8217;re blue collar and they&#8217;re working with machinery and construction and things where they get injured,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They have poorer health coverage, which means they get slower diagnosis and lesser care. And so, it obtains with years of life shaved off the end of their lives. And what gets me is they did this, the same agencies that advocated for this are the same agencies that had the records that said, we have the highest levels of anxiety, depression, and loneliness among our children than we&#8217;ve had since records were being kept. So, let&#8217;s shut down the schools, which we know are essential to their development. It&#8217;s like throwing gas on a fire.&#8221;
McGraw also noted that by keeping children out of schools, there was likely an uptick in the amount of abuse that some faced at home because the programs that exist in schools for reporting such acts were not available.
&#8220;We simply abandoned them to their abusers,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And so many of these children relied on those schools for at least one if not two meals per day. We took that away, and some say well, but they delivered those meals, some got them delivered, some didn&#8217;t. So, we created a huge educational gap. We abandoned the abused and molested children to their abusers and molesters. And nobody has done anything to close the gap. Other than that, no problem.&#8221;
