Famed conservative journalist Douglas Murray scored a major legal victory Tuesday, as a UK court dismissed a defamation lawsuit brought by a radical Islamist, ruling that the plaintiff “lied on significant issues” and presented evidence deemed “worthless.”

After Murray wrote a column in September 2022 in The Spectator that claimed Mohammed Hijab, whose legal name is Mohamad Nabil Hegab, “was a street agitator who, in the context of disturbances’ between local Muslims and Hindus,’ whipped up his followers and made disparaging comments about Hindus,” the court’s ruling explained, Hijab sued, claiming the article had caused reputational harm and loss of earnings.
The judge dismissed Hijab’s defamation completely, <a href="https://caselaw.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ewhc/kb/2025/2043">writing</a>:

As a witness he was combative and constantly argumentative. He sought, at every turn, to debate with counsel, responding to questions with (rhetorical) questions of his own, arguing his case rather than giving straightforward responses, and denigrating the character of the second defendant to whom he bears palpable personal animosity. I am satisfied that he lied on significant issues, with the consequence that his evidence, overall, is worthless. Specifically, I am satisfied that he lied in respect of the event at Golders Green, the counter-protest at the rally for Israel, the seminar on Hinduism at the Sapience Institute, his repudiation of vigilantism, his evidence as to the involvement of the Hindutva, his evidence about his choice of language in his speech, and his evidence in support of his claim for financial losses.

The Spectator <a href="https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-spectator-and-douglas-murray-win-defamation-claim-brought-by-mohammed-hijab/">reported</a>, “Hijab appeared to have invented contracts after Douglas’s article was published, in order to claim damages for their bogus cancellation. &#8230; The earnings Hijab claimed to have lost included a £3,500-a-month deal to be a brand ambassador for the charity One Ummah, a £1,500-a-month advertising contract with supplements company Nature’s Blends and £30,000 for a Ramadan fundraising campaign with the charity Salam. But messages that he relied on for these claims ‘have the appearance of being contrived for the purpose of these proceedings,’ the judge said.”
Additionally, according to the court ruling, on May 23, 2021 — two and a half years before the Hamas October 7, 2023 massacre of Israelis — at a rally for Israel in the vicinity of the Israeli Embassy, Hijab grabbed a megaphone and “gave a speech to a group of men, many of whom were wearing masks and hoods.” He yelled, “The truth of the matter is we are with the brothers and sisters of Palestine, and we will get our vengeance in this dunya or the akhira. We will get our vengeance, and believe you me we believe in a god that is just, and we will get our justice either in this world or in the hereafter. And the difference between us and them is this … They think that life begins; for us, we believe that death begins. We believe that life begins at death. We don’t care about death. We love death.”
At one anti-Israel protest organized by Hijab, a protester declared, “We’ll find some Jews there. We want the Zionists. We want their blood,” the court reported.
“Hijab sought to show that The Spectator had published something untrue,” The Spectator asserted. “He failed. But he also wanted to intimidate Douglas and the magazine. He sought damages of tens of thousands of pounds, and tried to recuperate his legal costs of hundreds of thousands of pounds. He attempted to use Britain’s legal system to silence journalists, and to paint himself as an upstanding citizen turned victim. This has backfired.”

Everyone is still talking about the extended debate between Libertarian comic Dave Smith and author Douglas Murray on “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
The Spotify superstar set the chat in motion, knowing the two had extremely different views that would make for a compelling exchange. It’s a sad sign of the times when a debate between two well-meaning adults is increasingly rare in pop culture.
The chat did more than let both pundits share their views. It reminded Rogan of an old saw that Uncle Ben taught a budding web-slinger long ago.
With great power comes great responsibility.

The underlying message in the chat? Rogan’s <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ah6kirkSwTg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hugely popular show</a> has been letting some cranks share his podcast microphone. That might not have mattered a few years ago, but now “The Joe Rogan Experience” has the power to shape the political landscape.
Many pundits suggest Donald Trump’s appearance on the show, along with Kamala Harris’ unwillingness to do the same, played a role in the real estate mogul’s victory.
Letting “historians” in Rogan’s studio who resist that label, spread erroneous facts, and refuse to take on their critics, may not be the best way to flex his podcast muscle.
<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-rogan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rogan</a> has played podcast footsie with conspiracy monger Alex Jones for some time. Now, he’s expanding that practice to the format’s detriment. Think Ian Carroll and Darryl Cooper as two recent examples.
The latter called Winston Churchill, <a href="https://winstonchurchill.hillsdale.edu/cooper-koureas/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“The chief villain of World War II.”</a>
“I feel you’ve opened the door to quite a lot of people who now got a big platform, who have been throwing out counter-historical stuff of a very dangerous kind,” Murray said early in the conversation. “These guys are not historians. They’re not knowledgeable about anything.”
“I just think, ‘I’d like to talk to that person.&#8217;” Rogan said of his guest choice.
The far-Left Hollywood Reporter, sensing a weakness in Rogan’s podcasting armor, called the podcaster’s recent tilt, “Dangerous.” That’s overstating it, but <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/politics-news/joe-rogan-douglas-murray-podcast-1236192416/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">it’s neither healthy nor helpful.</a>
A week later, Darryl Cooper arrived to perform his act, which can be described as offering outrageous provocations he then half walks back so he can repeat them all again tomorrow. In September, Cooper had appeared on Tucker Carlson’s podcast to say that Churchill was the real villain in World War II and that Nazis didn’t want to kill Jews in concentration camps; Jews only “ended up dead” because Germany didn’t have the resources to take care of them.
Murray and Smith didn’t name call or insult one another during the often-tense exchange. Rogan proved an avuncular host, trying to keep the parties on an even keel. The two sparred over foreign policy, the Ukraine war, and, most passionately, the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Murray’s silky-smooth delivery and impeccable grasp of the facts mattered. Smith brought an Everyman’s perspective to the party, often appearing overmatched in the dustup.

Who “won” depends partly on who you were rooting for prior to the exchange. Both landed some blows, from Murray detailing the horrors of October 7 to Smith sharing the devastation in Gaza from the extended conflict.
It’s increasingly rare to watch these kinds of debates play out on the pop culture landscape. Hollywood’s near total domination by the Left means there’s little appetite for these healthy exchanges. 
Consider today’s late-night hosts. They all sing from the same progressive hymnal and invite progressive guests on to nod along with the audience. The host of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” just raged against President Donald Trump in a Rolling Stone interview. Here’s part of his <a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-features/jimmy-kimmel-trump-late-night-future-interview-1235315906/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">jeremiad against all things GOP</a>.
&#8220;There’s no decency. It’s just a bunch of animals [emphasis added], and it’s disgusting… I mean, on the Fourth of July, I still put up a flag, and I’m never going to stop doing that, because I’m never going to let them have that symbol.&#8221;
Does that sound like someone willing to host a free and fair debate on his platform? Why can’t Kimmel invite someone like Dr. Jordan Peterson or Greg Gutfeld on his show for a civil conversation? It would make for compelling TV and might boost the show’s ratings.
Plus, audiences might take away something valuable from it beyond demonizing those with whom they disagree. It’s increasingly clear folks on the Left aren’t interested in that kind of exchange.
There is an exception, though. Classical liberal Bill Maher, both on his HBO talk show and “Club Random” podcast, routinely invites Right-leaning guests to talk out their differences. Think Dave Rubin, Kid Rock, and actor Zachary Levi, to name just three.

Rogan probably didn’t like to hear someone like Murray, well-regarded in many circles, dressing him down on his own show. He needed to hear it all the same. It’s reminiscent of another pivotal moment from the show’s past.
Rogan invited then-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on his show for what appeared to be a tepid chat that let Dorsey slink away from his platform’s censorious ways. Rogan got an earful from his fans who felt he had let the CEO off too easily. So he invited Dorsey back on the show, but brought backup.
He added journalist gadfly <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZCBRHOg3PQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tim Pool to the conversation</a>. Pool brought some unflattering receipts, and the exchange proved far more illuminating than the first interview.
Perhaps Rogan needed a reminder of why his show matters and the consequences of having one of the biggest podcasts in the country.
Uncle Ben would be proud if he took that lesson seriously.

Author and columnist Douglas Murray, a staunch supporter of the state of Israel, questioned podcast host Joe Rogan about his streak of guests with an anti-Israel tilt, as he has consistently had clearly anti-Israel personalities on his show.
“Can I ask you something?” Murray began during an appearance on Rogan&#8217;s podcast, where he was also joined by comedian-turned-political analyst Dave Smith. “Since the war in Israel began, and since the war in Ukraine began, you’ve had quite a lot of people who are very against both, in different ways. Do you think you’ve had enough people on who are supportive of the war?”
“I don’t know that word &#8216;enough,&#8217; if that’s a good word,” Rogan answered.
“Let’s say enough people who are on the side of Israel, instead of wild critics,” Murray said.
Rogan, after a back-and-forth in which he conceded that his guests tended to &#8220;tilt&#8221; against Israel, defended his selection of guests.
“Well, I’ve had a few; I believe Gad Saad is on the side of Israel,” Rogan said.
“For sure,” Murray agreed.
“Jordan [Peterson] is on the side of Israel,” Rogan said.
“Do you think you’ve tilted one way?” Murray asked.
“Me, personally?” Rogan responded.
“No, no. Just the guests you’ve had,” Murray said.
“Yeah, probably more tilted towards the idea that perhaps the way they’ve done it is barbaric,” Rogan said, referring to Israel&#8217;s war against Hamas terrorists.
“Why do you think that is? Because interesting your selection of guests &#8230;” Murray pointed out.
“I don’t think about it that way. I just think, I’d like to talk to that person,” Rogan said.
Murray then pressed Rogan on why he brings on people who, Murray explained, simply don&#8217;t know what they&#8217;re talking about.
“If you’re going to interview historians of the conflict, or just historians in general, why would you get someone like Ian Carroll?&#8221; Murray asked.
“Yeah, but Ian Carroll, I didn’t bring him on for that purpose,” Rogan  said. “I brought him on because I want to find out, like, how does one get involved in the whole conspiracy theory business, because his whole thing is just conspiracies, y’know?”
“There’s been a tilt in the conversations, both conversations, the last couple years, and it’s largely to do with people who have appointed themselves experts who are not experts,” Murray pointed out.
“I don’t think he appointed himself expert in anything,” Rogan protested.
“Who’s that other dude who thinks he’s an expert on Churchill?” Murray asked.
“Daryl Cooper does not think he’s an expert,” Rogan said. “Have you ever absorbed any of his material? Have you ever consumed any of his podcasts or anything?”
Murray replied:

It’s pretty hard to listen to somebody who says, &#8220;I don’t know what I’m talking about but now I’m gonna talk.&#8221; Or, “I don’t know about this.” Or, “I’m not capable of debating this historian but I’m just going to tell you what I think.” &#8230; If you throw a lot of s*** out there, there’s some point at which &#8220;I’m just raising questions&#8221; is not a valid thing. You’re not “raising questions.” You’re not “asking questions.” You’re telling people something.

Murray concluded, “I think there’s a whole bunch of guys doing that. Dave is doing that, very obviously. Dave’s a comedian, but he’s now mainly talking about Israel.”
The episode continues with a lengthy discussion of the war between Israel and Hamas, the history and purpose of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and other foreign policy issues.

Douglas Murray To Joe Rogan: Stop ‘Just Asking Questions’

On Tuesday, conservative author Douglas Murray <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/news/ny-post-columnist-scores-libel-win-against-the-guardian-over-violent-racist-attacks-smear/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won a libel claim</a> against the Guardian Media Group, whose subsidiary The Observer ran an article last August that accused him of “supporting violent racist attacks” against migrants during anti-immigration protests in 2024. The Observer is the Sunday edition of The Guardian.
Those protests followed three young girls at a Taylor Swift&#8211;themed dance lesson in Southport, a town in northwest England, being stabbed by Axel Rudakubana. The original article quoted Murray about another issue in 2023 but made it seem as though he was talking about the 2024 riots.
“In late 2023 the Claimant was interviewed by John Anderson, the former Deputy Australian Prime Minister about Israel, immigration and Islam,” Murray’s <a href="https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:EU:0eae8318-f7a8-4614-b04d-39aa5b130987?viewer%21megaVerb=group-discover" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> to the court noted. “A video of the interview was published on Mr. Anderson’s website and YouTube on 8 November 2023. In the interview Mr.Murray expressed his outrage that a demonstration had been organised by Muslim groups, Palestinian groups and pro-Hamas groups to take place on Remembrance Sunday in London. He stated that: ‘the British soul is awakening and stirring with rage at what these people are doing.’”
The statement continued:

On 6 August 2024, in the immediate aftermath of the riots, an edited version of the interview was, for a short period, uploaded on Mr. Anderson’s website and YouTube, which gave the misleading impression that Mr. Murray was encouraging the riots.  On 11 August 2024, The Observer published an article by the journalist Kenan Malik called The roots of this unrest lie in the warping of genuine working-class grievances. The article repeated the words spoken by Mr. Murray to John Anderson, that “the British soul is awakening and stirring with rage at what these people are doing,” however, the article wrongly reported that Mr. Murray had made this statement in connection with the riots, which in fact took place over 6 months after Mr. Murray&#8217;s interview took place. 
Furthermore, the article stated that Mr. Murray&#8217;s reference to “these people” during his interview with Mr Anderson had been to the migrants who had been attacked during the riots. The article stated that Mr. Murray was angry towards the migrants who were inside mosques and hotels during the riots who were “fearing for their lives, worshippers seeking refuge, those trying to ward off racist attackers on the streets.” The article therefore accused Mr. Murray of supporting the violent racist attacks made against migrants which took place during the riots of the summer of 2024.

The Guardian later corrected the August 11, 2024, article by The Observer’s Kenan Malik. The <a href="https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/douglas-murray-wins-defamation-case-against-observer/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">corrected version</a> stated:

“The British soul is awakening and stirring with rage at what these people are doing,” the Spectator’s Douglas Murray told former Australian deputy prime minister John Anderson. The comment might sound like a response to the recent riots, but was actually recorded last year (the edited clip of the old interview was uploaded on Anderson’s website last week, but has since been taken down).

After Murray won the case in court, he <a href="https://x.com/DouglasKMurray/status/1899426518612443544">wrote</a> on X:

Legal update: Today I won a major libel claim against Guardian Media/Observer (@guardian ) for its lazy journalism. Last year the paper made very serious and false accusations against me, based on unchecked claims on social media. Mr. Malik falsely accused me of supporting violent attacks against migrants. This was not true and did not make it to the online edition. 
Nevertheless such baseless accusations have to be stopped before other careless ‘journalists’ take fake news from the internet and repeat such damaging allegations. Today in Court in London a statement was read out by Guardian media recording the absolute falsity of the allegations and recording payment to me of substantial damages and my legal costs.

Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro and British author and political commentator Douglas Murray dissected the rise of the radical Left in the U.S., especially within the Democratic Party on the latest episode of “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/our-last-chance-to-save-the-west-douglas-murray-member-exclusive" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Ben Shapiro Show Sunday Special</a>.”
Shapiro and Murray first talked about the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas and the anti-Israel bias spewed by much of the legacy media, a bias that has been multiplied on college campuses, in the highest echelons of American universities, and even in Congress.
“The idea that you have hundreds of thousands of Westerners marching in solidarity with the murderers, that was on some level more disturbing to me than the actual massacre itself — certainly not in terms of the actual amount of human suffering and the horrifying evil and barbarity of it, but in terms of the threat to the civilization as a whole,” Shapiro said of anti-Israel demonstrations that broke out following Hamas’ attack on Israel where terrorists murdered over 1,000 people.
Murray agreed, adding that the anti-Israel demonstrations on streets across the world were at their core “anti-American” and “anti-Western.”
“Why can you predict with 100% accuracy that the proud Palestinian, not to mention pro-Hamas demonstrators, will never in America carry an American flag? Because it&#8217;s not about Israel, it&#8217;s about America. It&#8217;s about Britain, it&#8217;s about France.”
“This is a revolutionary movement and it finds its first and most fevered and most flattered version in its attack on Israel,” he added. “But of course, it&#8217;s anti-American; of course, it&#8217;s anti-Western; of course, it&#8217;s anti-British.”

Later in the interview, Shapiro and Murray talked about revolutionaries’ craving for violence throughout history, a craving that Murray warned is evident in today’s radical leftists. Shapiro also noted that radical demonstrators and political leaders have been largely supported by the Democratic Party establishment.
“What&#8217;s more interesting to me is the collapse of the liberal world order in the face of this. The so-called moderates who seem to be willing to traffic along these lines,” Shapiro said. “In the United States, the Democratic Party [is] continuing to massage the shoulders of the members of the Congress who are members of Hamas, or if not members, then at least fellow travelers of terrorists.”
The willingness to pat on the head, the protesters on college campuses by saying, ‘Well, you know, we don&#8217;t want them being bad and, you know, spray painting buildings. But there&#8217;s just so much passion, and we hear what they&#8217;re saying.’ This attempt to sort of massage them into jet fuel for what they believe is more moderate movement. And that&#8217;s the part that that I find particularly disturbing,” he added.
“There seems to be almost a lack of an immune system on the sort of center-Left for this sort of stuff to the point where it&#8217;s pretty obvious, I think, to anybody who&#8217;s observing politics, whether you&#8217;re doing so in Europe or in the United States … the revolutionaries are going to be in control of the movement. I would be shocked if they&#8217;re not,” Shapiro continued.
Murray chimed in, saying the coddling of radical leftists by the Democratic Party is similar to bad parenting.
“I would use an analogy that a lot of people will know from family life. You’re a parent. You observe, as I do, patterns and what good parenting looks like, what bad parenting looks like,” Murray said. “And I&#8217;m sure you&#8217;ve observed, as most people have, a parent who is terrified of their child.”
“People who want to be friends with their children, that&#8217;s a ghastly place to start. But … the parent who&#8217;s scared of the child and therefore creates the world around the child so the child will not be upset. It&#8217;s a surefire way to create an absolute brand of a human being who will probably never grow up,” Murray said. “But I think something like that is happening with the politicians and the generation coming up.”

British author and journalist <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/douglas-murray" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Douglas Murray</a> bristled when a South African interviewer bandied the term “genocide” to describe Israel’s war against Hamas and promptly took apart her anti-Israel arguments.
Murray was interviewed by Jane Dutton of Eyewitness News, who mentioned Murrays’ criticism of South Africa accusing Israel of “genocide” before the International Court of Justice.
Murray blasted South Africa, saying, “I always think that for voters in any country, first order of priorities: getting the water clean; getting the roads running; getting the infrastructure working; getting healthcare; getting education. I do think that quite often, in my observation — I’ve covered a lot of countries around the world — quite often in my observation, those first-order priorities, if the government fails at that, it does distraction kinds of things. &#8230; I don’t think it’s something of primary importance to the people of South Africa; I don’t think it’s first order priorities for the voters, and I’m suspicious when governments pull international tricks.”
Dutton suggested someone had to do what South Africa had done, prompting Murray to reply, “Not at all. There’s an awful lot of things going on in the world &#8230; an awful lot of conflicts. I don’t think at all that what’s happening in Gaza is genocide; I think it’s an unbelievable smear against Israel. I’ve covered that war as I’ve covered many others.”
“Don’t you think it’s a self-inflicted smear against Israel?” Dutton said to attack Israel.
“No. I was in Ukraine last year. Are the Ukrainians committing genocide?” Murray asked, leaving Dutton unable to reply. “I ask you,” he prompted.
“What’s that got to do with Israel?” she finally managed.
“I ask you: There are many wars going on. Is Ukraine committing genocide?” Murray repeated.
‘No,” she answered.
“Right,” Murray said.
“Is Russia committing genocide?” she asked.
“Russia’s committing a war of hostile aggression, for sure, although it doesn’t seem to be attempting to eradicate the Ukrainian population as a whole, which is, of course, what genocide is,” he answered.
“Which is what Israel seems to be doing,” Dutton snapped.
“The allegation of genocide &#8230; why would Israel be committing genocide in Gaza?” he asked her.
“What would you describe it?” she asked.
“It’s a war, which I’ve seen up close,” he replied. “Let me just explain that: If you start a war, which is what Hamas did on the 7th of October, if you start a war, there are repercussions There are repercussions to Russia starting a war against Ukraine. Russia’s lost a lot of troops. There are repercussions for Hamas starting a war against Israel.”
Dutton then insisted Israel was conducting “an illegal occupation” against the Palestinians in Gaza and Judea and Samaria (West Bank).

Murray then asked her repeatedly who had sealed off Gaza. Dutton, who said she had been to Gaza, mentioned Israel, the U.S., and “whoever helps the Israelis.”
When Murray asked her who else and she had no answer, he fired back, “Well, as you know, if you’ve been, Gaza also has a border with Egypt. Why do you not mention Egypt? Egypt has a stronger fence to fence in the people of Gaza than Israel does.”
“You might note there were more workers, until the 7th, allowed in Israel to work and indeed to have medical treatments and others considered necessary &#8230; plenty more people every day coming into Israel to work from Gaza until the 7th, than were going the other way into Egypt,” Murray pointed out.
“The facts are the facts and I just want to pick you up on something you just did,” he continued. “I think you are uninformed. You didn’t say that Egypt is blockading Gaza. &#8230; As you well know, in 2005, Israeli troops ripped Jewish families from their home in the Gaza. &#8230; You’ve got to inform your viewer of the facts and you just misled them. In 2005, Israeli troops ripped every Jewish family from their home in Gaza and handed over all of Gaza, which is completely clear of Jews.”
“We can agree to disagree, but don’t misinform your viewers,” he said. “I’m informing them because you’re not. &#8230; The point that you keep on trying to distract everyone from is that Israel took every Jew from Gaza in 2005, handed it over to the Palestinians, who then voted in Hamas, to the great detriment of the Palestinian people. They have been ruled by Hamas for the last 18 years. If you want to look for the source of the conflict, look to that fact.”
When Dutton insisted we “are where we are today” because of Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria, Murray responded, “You just did it again. You threw in a false fact. We are not where we are today because of settlements in the West Bank that are disputed. That’s not why Hamas broke out of Gaza on the 7th of October and massacred people they hate. It’s not because of the West Bank and you well know it. &#8230; They did it, by their own admission, because they wanted to massacre every Jew they could get their hands on, and Hamas has said they will do it again and again. So don’t get on to the distraction of settlements &#8230; don’t distract from the crime of Hamas. Don’t do that.”

Douglas Murray, the British author of “The War on the West,” blasted President Biden for his alleged efforts to prepare for declaring a Palestinian state.
“It’s amazing how long bad ideas take to die. That’s certainly the case with one of the least successful ideas in the world. The idea of the two-state solution in the Middle East,” Murray began in an <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/02/15/opinion/shameful-biden-tries-to-reward-hamas-terror-with-a-palestinian-state/">opinion piece</a> titled, &#8220;Shameful Biden tries to reward Hamas terror with a Palestinian state.”
“How do we know it is unsuccessful? Because it has been tried for decades and never works. Generations of US Presidents have wasted energy on the idea. All based on a falsehood.”
Murray targeted the “song” he said had been sung by “Republicans and Democrats alike” that “if the Palestinian people had another state then all the other problems of the Middle East would be solved.”
“The economy of Yemen would suddenly boom,” he quipped. “The Ayatollahs in Iran would suddenly grant equal rights to women. There’d be gay pride in Saudi Arabia.”
“It is a fairytale, of course,” he pointed out. “None of the rest of the Arab world gives a damn about the Palestinians. Most actively hate them — seeing them as bringing terror wherever they go (as the Palestinians did when they went to Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia and Lebanon — to name just a few).”
Noting that the Palestinians have “doggedly refused a state every time they were offered one,” he continued, “In 2005, the Israelis effectively gifted the Palestinians a state in Gaza, when the Israeli government forced every Jew out of the area and handed the strip over to the Palestinians. And what did the Palestinians do with their new state? Well, they voted in Hamas, who then had a coup and spent 18 years taking US taxpayer dollars to build a terror state from which they invaded Israel again last year.”
“After the 7th October who on earth could believe it is a good idea for the Palestinians to be given another state?” he asked rhetorically.
“Ever since the atrocities of October 7th, Joe Biden and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken have been insisting that now is just the time to ‘double down’ on the two-state solution,” he wrote. “It is like watching an alcoholic trying to recover from a hangover by having the first drink of the morning.”
Pointing out that within a month of the October 7 Hamas massacre of Israelis Biden had insisted on a two-state solution, Murray questioned, “But why? Why after Palestinians had carried out the most brutal day of terror since the creation of the State of Israel should they be rewarded with a state? And why should it be governed by the Palestinian Authority? &#8230; It is a totally corrupt entity.”
“On October 8th — as terrorists were still running wild across the south of Israel — Blinken told CBS, ‘We think the best way to resolve [the Israeli-Palestinian conflict] remains a two-state solution,’” Murray recalled. “A month later he could be found claiming that a two-state solution was ‘the only way to end a cycle of violence.’ By the time he was in Davos in January Blinken was telling the New York Times that creating a Palestinian state would solve all the problems of the region, including (bizarrely) regional instability caused by Iran. &#8230; By the end of January Blinken was reported to have ordered the State Department to review options for American recognition of a Palestinian State.”
“I wonder how many more terror attacks will come about by incentivizing terror in this way?” Murray speculated.
“But the other reason why it is so wicked is that since 2005 we know what a Palestinian state in the West Bank would look like. It would not just be one more failed Arab state. It would be another Palestinian terror state. One which had views over the entirety of Israel and where the rockets could this time easily hit Tel Aviv, Haifa and Ben Gurion airport,” he wrote.
Murray concluded, “So long as the Palestinians celebrate terror, encourage terror and pay for terror they should not have another state. Two-states? It’s not a solution. It’s part of the problem.”

In a fascinating and trenchant dialogue, British author Douglas Murray <a href="https://www.thefp.com/p/douglas-murray-son-of-hamas-mosab-hassan-yousef" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interviewed</a> the son of a Hamas co-founder. Mosab Hassan Yousef, who worked with Israeli intelligence to foil numerous suicide bombing attacks against Israel.
When Murray asked what Youisef was taught growing up, he replied, “Jewish hatred, this is not a secret thing. Hatred toward the Jewish people, toward the infidels, towards the Christians; it’s part of the Islamic common teaching. &#8230; It’s in the air; it’s in the book (Koran), it’s in the mosque; it’s in the school, and people think it is normal just to preach hatred towards other people because they are different or because they don’t agree with Islamic principles.”
Speaking of the atmosphere in which he grew up and how it focused on the eradication of Israel, he said, “It&#8217;s not only in Hamas charters, it’s in fact, a desire not only for Palestinian-Islamic movements like Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood, Islamic Jihad &#8230; but it’s also the non-Islamist movements that praise Jewish slaughter. And this was the biggest problem that I had in the 90s during the suicide attacks before and after the Second Intifada. People used to celebrate.”
He noted that when a suicide bomber had been successful in massacring Jews, “A majority of the Palestinian population celebrated, praised suicide bombing attacks even though it targeted civilians. &#8230; In fact, people would celebrate more when the death toll would be greater, even though we had Arabs, foreigners, who died in those attacks, children, women, elders, all types of people, and this is where from the early beginning I had this moral conflict. How can you celebrate and enjoy the suffering of people like this?”
“At the beginning you think that the Israelis deserve that; ‘They took our land. They killed our people. They are against our God; they want to destroy us.’ You get to a point where you see your enemy down you celebrate that. But then — for how long you can lie to somebody before they start questioning the truth and the reality?” he noted.
He said of his childhood, “From a very early age I had my problem with the culture. I did not like the abuse; I did not appreciate the beating. I did not appreciate the rigid, rough discipline. Don’t expect to beat up a child because they did not follow the religious protocol and this child is not going to question what that was for? &#8230; I survived it; many people get broken in the beginning.”
He remembered being in prison in 1996 at the age of 18 because he had purchased guns for the purpose of shooting Israelis. “Thankfully I got arrested before I carried out a terrorist attack, I was not that far. &#8230; We had guns and we were looking for targets. &#8230; Hamas in prison proved to be barbaric; they killed so many people; they tortured so many people, our own people, for suspicion of collaborating with Israel with no evidence. Hamas did not have evidence. &#8230; Dozens were killed in a short period of time. Hundreds were tortured in the worst possible way. This was the time when I started asking the question: What if Hamas succeeds in establishing a Palestinian state? Are they going to do this to our people?”
“One of the things in the Koran, that Allah hates the Jewish people for being disobedient,” he stated. “Hence many of those jihadists think that they are the sword of God on Earth, that they are actually manifesting the punishment against the Jewish people for being disobedient. And this is why I personally question the belief system itself. I thought it was not enough to work in counterterrorism shooting down terrorists or trying to stop a suicide bomber before they reach their target; after 10 years of this operation I came to realize we were fighting a ghost because we did not deal with the belief system.”
Speaking of the October 7 massacre of Israelis by Hamas and how it differed from all the previous terrorist attacks on Israelis, he said, “This one, you see them moving, you see them speaking; you seem them enjoying it. They rejoice in the death of so many innocent, defenseless people. In people’s living rooms, enjoying beverages from their kitchen while the children are mourning the death of their parents next door. There is no human language that can describe the evil that took place on October 7. That’s not just a war crime; it’s not just killing; it’s a genocide by all standards. And to see such a genocide but nobody’s talking about it. &#8230; This is not just a terrorist attack.”
He spoke of the West’s refusal to see the Islamist threat:

We see the Islamists’ threat; we see what they are capable of doing, FBI, Homeland Security, other intelligence agencies in the West, most democracies in the West, they know the ideological dimension that motivates  terrorists and terrorist attacks. But we prefer not to talk about it because it’s “Islamophobic” or because it’s controversial or we may offend the Muslims. British author and commentator Douglas Murray blasted South Africa for accusing Israel of genocide in its war against Hamas, calling the claim “preposterous.”
This week, South Africa accused Israel of genocide at the United Nations’ top court, the International Court of Justice.
Murray appeared on Talk TV with host Julia Hartley-Brewer, who asked if claims of genocide against Israel had any foundation, Murray replied, “Absolutely not. As I’ve mentioned before to you, Julia, the population of Gaza has grown by almost a million in the last 16 years, so it’s a very strange type of genocide where the population actually increases.”
“You mention, of course, this preposterous action by this South African government,” he continued. “If you go to South Africa, as I have been, you’ll find that South Africa is one of the most beautiful and amazing countries in the world — and it’s one of the most hideously run. Major cities like Johannesburg have massive electricity blackouts. There’s horrible corruption by the government; they can’t provide the most basic things to the people. Terrible violence and much more, and horrible, horrible poverty in the townships.”
“Its government is profoundly anti-Semitic, has been anti-Israel for years,” Murray said of South Africa’s government. “And they always do this sort of thing to try to sort of distract attention among their own population from the failings of their own government.”
Murray pointed out that one of Great Britain’s leading anti-Israel advocates had joined with South Africa in its efforts: “It’s very telling, by the way, Julia, that one of the people that’s joined this initiative of the South Africans to try to take Israel to the Hague for a non-existent war crime, one of the people who’s joined that effort is Jeremy Corbyn.”

‘Preposterous’: Douglas Murray Rips South Africa For Accusing Israel Of Genocide

Best-selling author and political commentator Douglas Murray published a <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/12/28/opinion/hamas-philosophy-all-civilians-all-children-are-tools-of-war/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">column</a> on Friday in The New York Post in which he outlined the way Hamas uses children and the elderly as tools in their war against Israel.
Murray blasted critics of Israel who claim Israelis deliberately target civilians and commit war crimes. He pointed out the intellectual dishonesty of those who pillory Israel for stripping Hamas terrorists (who might have worn suicide bombs under their clothes) down to their underwear, but remain silent about the brutal rape of scores of Israeli women by Hamas.

“Earlier this week The Post published a story about Hamas hiding explosives in toy boxes,” Murray wrote. “That is absolutely true and the tip of the iceberg.”
Murray quoted an American, whom he referred to as “Major Y,” who returned to Israel after the October 7 Hamas massacre of 1,200 Israelis to serve with the IDF and has been fighting in Gaza.
Murray quoted Major Y and other witnesses who said roughly one in every two or three homes in Gaza they entered had military weaponry, including AK-47s, grenades, and rocket launchers, as well as entrances to Hamas terror tunnels, and the tunnels were most often found in children’s rooms.
According to Major Y, every single mosque the IDF entered in Gaza as well as every U.N. school had Hamas weapons, violating the rules of war.
“Hamas use places of worship — while pretending to be such ‘devout’ Muslims — because they know the Israelis will not target their places of worship,” Murray wrote. “They use schools as arms dumps because they know that if Israel targets an empty school the world will go berserk.”
In one reported incident, an IDF unit saw an old lady in a wheelchair on a street corner. When they approached her a Hamas terrorist who had hidden under the wheelchair fired on them.
Another IDF unit near an UNWRA school reportedly saw a 13-year old boy running with a bag; he left the bag on the ground and fled. It exploded, severely wounding an Israeli soldier.
“When people ask how Israel could treat even some children as potential terrorists, this is why,” Murray commented.
Another reported incident found  “a group of old women and old men” exiting a building with a white flag; then a terrorist popped out from within the group and fired at IDF soldiers, who didn’t fire back because of the other civilians.
“In other words, the Israelis expressed more care for the Palestinian civilians than this Palestinian terrorist,” Murray noted.
“This, then, is the Hamas way of war. And the Israeli way of war,” Murray wrote. “One side uses civilians as human shields. The other tries to locate terrorists.”
“It is Hamas that started this. And Hamas that is the real enemy not just of Israel but of the Palestinian people,” he concluded.

Murray appeared on stage at an event in London featuring Jordan Peterson, who hosted Murray and Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro on stage.

On social media, Murray slammed the Irish Foreign Minister who called for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas. Referencing the British people’s heroic fight against the Nazis in World War II, he snapped, “There was another time when the Irish government sat out a conflict but the British government chose not to. Britain = right both times.”

Writing in <a href="https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/its-time-to-cut-our-ties-with-qatar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Spectator</a>, Murray called for Great Britain to cut its ties with Qatar, writing: “Qatar is one of the main funders – and the main international host – of the terrorist group Hamas.”
“Qatar has played host to Hamas, allowing it to operate out of Doha,” he noted. “The Qataris have given sanctuary to (among others) Hamas leaders Ismail Haniyeh and Khaled Meshaal. These men do not share the suffering of the people they claim to care about – the Arabs in Gaza. They make sure that these people get as little of the international aid money that comes their way as possible. Poverty-stricken Palestinians are what Haniyeh and Meshaal need: it bolsters their international begging-bowl abilities.”
“It would seem a good time to put sanctions on Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and his entire family. It would be a good time for the victims of Hamas terror to start to take class-action lawsuits against the Emir, the government of Qatar and any other body involved in business with the statelet,” he added.

Megyn Kelly blasted her kids&#8217; new school for allegedly discussing how to invite &#8220;raging racists&#8221; like Ibram X. Kendi, which she learned after she had pulled her children from a private school in New York that was pushing gender identity on her third-grade son.
During the Sirius XM &#8220;The Megyn Kelly Show&#8221; <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ywtbiBr63A&amp;t=321s">podcast</a> Tuesday, the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/megyn-kelly-levels-lia-thomas-says-this-is-not-the-womens-champion-and-has-some-nerve-pretending-to-be">host</a> was speaking with guest political commentator Douglas Murray about his new book &#8220;The War on the West: How to Prevail in the Age of Unreason.&#8221; Murray explained that people like Kendi and Robin DiAngelo need to be called out for what they are, describing them as &#8220;racists.&#8221;
&#8220;Even at our school&#8230; you know we talked about this last time, we fled the New York schools because they were so crazy Left and woke and part of this war,&#8221; Kelly shared. &#8220;And we found more reasonable schools in Connecticut&#8230; but they&#8217;ve just formed a sort of diversity group at one of the schools.&#8221;
&#8220;And the meetings, which I&#8217;ve been attending, because I want to know what&#8217;s happening,&#8221; she added. &#8220;Are talking about &#8216;how do we get Ibram X. Kendi here?&#8217; &#8216;How do we get Robin DiAngelo here?&#8217; &#8230;Like, what could you be thinking?&#8221;

&#8220;&#8216;You&#8217;re thinking about inviting raging racists, anti-white racists to come to the school to try to influence what the agenda, the curriculum, the teachers?'&#8221; Kelly continued. &#8220;I will fight you. I will fight you.&#8221;
Murray looked horrified on the video at learning about the podcast host&#8217;s kid&#8217;s school&#8217;s plans and said she &#8220;absolutely&#8221; should have that reaction.
&#8220;It&#8217;s worse. They are attaching electrodes to the brains of young Americans,&#8221; the British author replied. &#8220;They are wiring them to be miswired throughout their life.&#8221;
The former Fox News host interjected and said &#8220;on this and the trans stuff too.&#8221;
&#8220;Here is the thing again, I am responsible, as you are for what we have done in our lives,&#8221; Murray shared. &#8220;For mistakes that we&#8217;ve made, the wrongs we&#8217;ve done people and everybody in the world has. And we have to deal with that with our own conscious and try to rectify that&#8230; But none of us is responsible for things we have not done.&#8221;
&#8220;I am not responsible for anything that was done centuries before my birth by people who may have looked like me,&#8221; he added.
Murray later talked about reparations and asked who &#8220;honestly thinks&#8221; this is the way to create &#8220;racial or social harmony.&#8221; He said when in fact it is &#8220;almost the definition of how to put a pipe bomb underneath your society and then set it off.&#8221;
Kelly replied, &#8220;which may be the point.&#8221;
