<div>The DOJ is launching a federal investigation into Washington State&#8217;s practice of housing men in women&#8217;s prisons, the Daily Wire can first report. It will investigate if these policies violate the constitutional rights of incarcerated women housed at the Washington Corrections Center for Women (WCCW) in Gig Harbor, Washington.</div>

<div>The Washington Department of Corrections (DOC) gives violent male convicts who self-identify as transgender full access to the women’s prisons, including cells, bathrooms, and showers.</div>

<div>“Under my leadership, the Civil Rights Division will not allow women incarcerated in jails or prisons to be subject to unconstitutional risks of harm from male inmates,” said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon. “The constitutional rights of women cannot be sacrificed at the altar of appeasing unsupported and dangerous ideologies.”</div>

<div>The DOJ investigation comes on the heels of an April 2026 <a href="https://www.americafirstpolicy.com/assets/uploads/files/AFPI_WDOC_Complaint_04.27.26.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawsuit</a> filed by The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) that argues forcing women to share a prison with violent men violates the fundamental constitutional rights of women to be safe while incarcerated. The lawsuit describes two women who were allegedly assaulted by Christopher Williams, a man who self-identifies as female. The lawsuit calls Williams a “six-foot-four, ‘biologically intact’ male” and “convicted child sex offender” with a history of violence against women.</div>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The FBI is offering a $200,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a former U.S. Air Force intel specialist charged with defecting and sharing American secrets with the Islamic Republic of Iran. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In February 2019, a federal grand jury in the District of Columbia indicted Monica Witt, a former U.S. service member and counterintelligence agent, on charges of espionage, including transmitting national defense information to the government of Iran.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Witt served in the U.S. military from 1997 to 2008 and later worked as a U.S. government contractor until 2010, according to the FBI. Her combined military and private-sector experience</span> <a href="https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices/washingtondc/news/fbi-washington-field-office-announces-200000-reward-for-information-leading-to-apprehension-of-former-us-counterintelligence-agent-charged-with-espionage-for-iran"><span style="font-weight: 400;">reportedly gave her access to classified information at the “SECRET” and “TOP SECRET” levels,</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> including the identities of undercover personnel within the U.S. intelligence community.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In 2013, Witt defected to Iran and provided classified information to the government of Iran, according to the FBI. The Texas native is said to have defected after being invited to two all-expense-paid conferences in Iran that the Justice Department says &#8220;promoted anti-Western propaganda and criticized American moral standards,&#8221;</span> <a href="https://apnews.com/article/monica-witt-iran-fbi-counterintelligence-defector-1e11b09b9cb7d8a0d568019d8adf7942"><span style="font-weight: 400;">according to the Associated Press. </span></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Witt is accused of intentionally providing information that endangered U.S. personnel stationed abroad. Authorities also allege she researched on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran to help identify and target her former colleagues in the U.S. government.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Witt’s defection to Iran has benefitted the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which has elements responsible for intelligence collection, unconventional warfare, and providing direct support to multiple terrorist organizations targeting U.S. citizens and interests,&#8221;</span> <a href="https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices/washingtondc/news/fbi-washington-field-office-announces-200000-reward-for-information-leading-to-apprehension-of-former-us-counterintelligence-agent-charged-with-espionage-for-iran"><span style="font-weight: 400;">the FBI said in a statement. </span></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Despite the indictment and pending charges, Witt remains on the run, and the federal government is unable to locate her. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Monica Witt allegedly betrayed her oath to the Constitution more than a decade ago by defecting to Iran and providing the Iranian regime National Defense Information and likely continues to support their nefarious activities,” Daniel Wierzbicki, special agent in charge of the FBI Washington Field Office’s Counterintelligence and Cyber Division, said.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“The FBI has not forgotten and believes that during this critical moment in Iran’s history, there is someone who knows something about her whereabouts. The FBI wants to hear from you so you can help us apprehend Witt and bring her to justice,&#8221; he added. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A commander of the Iran-backed militia group Kataib Hezbollah has been brought to the United States to face terrorism charges over a plot targeting Americans and Jewish sites, according to the Department of Justice.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, 32, appeared in federal court in Manhattan after being captured overseas and transferred into U.S. custody, the DOJ said. Authorities describe Al-Saadi as a senior operative tied to the Iraq-based Shia terror group.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Federal prosecutors <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/iraqi-national-arrested-and-charged-providing-material-support-iranian-backed-terrorist">charged</a> Al-Saadi with six terrorism-related offenses for his activities, including conspiring to provide </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">material support to Kataib Hezbollah and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, plotting attacks targeting Americans, conspiring to bomb places of public use, and attempted destruction of property using fire or explosives. Some of the charges carry potential prison sentences ranging from 15 years to life.</span></p>
<p>Federal authorities said Al-Saadi and his associates were involved in coordinating terrorist attacks across Europe and Canada and were planning future attacks in the United States.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">FBI Director Kash Patel said Al-Saadi and his associates were targeting Jewish institutions in multiple states. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Al-Saadi and his associates allegedly planned, coordinated, and claimed responsibility for at least 20 terrorist attacks across Europe and in Canada — and were believed to be targeting the United States for upcoming attacks including Jewish institutions in New York, California, and Arizona,” Patel wrote in a <a href="https://x.com/FBIDirectorKash/status/2055343717351928061">statement</a> posted to X.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The DOJ listed examples of alleged attacks tied to Al-Saadi and his associates, including a March 2026 explosives attack targeting the Bank of New York Mellon in Amsterdam. Prosecutors say Al-Saadi later posted a propaganda video referencing the attack.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In another alleged incident, an arson attack targeted a synagogue in Skopje, North Macedonia, on April 12. Days later, prosecutors say Al-Saadi posted a video showing the synagogue engulfed in flames alongside a red target symbol.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Patel described Al-Saadi as a “high-value target responsible for mass global terrorism” and praised FBI agents, tactical units, and international partners involved in the operation.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“This was a righteous mission executed brilliantly by our agents, investigators, CIRG tactical units and interagency partners who delivered yet again,” Patel wrote.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Federal prosecutors also allege that Al-Saadi used social media to encourage attacks against Americans and Jews in support of Kataib Hezbollah and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to the DOJ, Al-Saadi posted a message in February 2026 urging followers to “kill everyone who supports America and Israel” and calling for attacks on both civilian and military targets. Prosecutors say the post was part of a broader effort to direct and inspire attacks against U.S. and Israeli interests.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kataib Hezbollah was formed following the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq and has long been considered one of Iran’s most dangerous and loyal proxy organizations.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Shiite militia is backed by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force, or IRGC-QF, which the United States has designated as a terrorist organization. U.S. officials have repeatedly accused the group of carrying out attacks on American military personnel and facilities in Iraq and Syria using rockets, drones, and improvised explosive devices.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to the </span><a href="https://www.dni.gov/nctc/terrorist_groups/kh.html"><span style="font-weight: 400;">National Counterterrorism Center</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, Kataib Hezbollah works extensively with the IRGC-QF, closely follows the direction of Iran’s Supreme Leader, and seeks to establish an Iran-aligned government in Iraq.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The National Counterterrorism Center says the organization possesses armored vehicles, artillery systems, missiles, man-portable air defense systems, and explosively formed projectiles. The militia has also reportedly received extensive funding, intelligence support, training, and weapons from Iran.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The group additionally maintains close ties with Hezbollah in Lebanon, another Iranian-backed organization designated by the United States as a terrorist group.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Earlier this year, Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused the group of kidnapping American journalist Shelly Kittleson in Baghdad before later releasing her.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Al-Saadi also reportedly knew Iranian Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani, the longtime commander of the IRGC-QF who was killed in a U.S. airstrike ordered by President Donald Trump in January 2020 near Baghdad International Airport.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Jewish institutions across the United States and Europe have faced heightened threats and security concerns since the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Department of Justice plans to indict Raúl Castro, the 94-year-old former president of Cuba, as tensions escalate between the United States and the communist country.</span></p>
<p>The indictment is expected to charge Castro over a 1996 incident when Cuba shot down American-operated humanitarian planes, sources <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/us-moving-to-indict-cubas-raul-castro-officials-say/">told</a> CBS News. Castro, the brother of the late Cuban communist revolutionary Fidel Castro, stepped down as the leader of Cuba in 2021, but he remains one of the most powerful figures in the country.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Justice Department did not immediately respond to The Daily Wire’s request for comment. </span></p>
<p>In February 1996, two small planes operated by Miami-based group Brothers to the Rescue, were shot down by a Cuban fighter jet. The planes, which carried four people searching for Cubans attempting to flee the communist country, were reportedly shot down outside of Cuban airspace. Four people were killed.</p>
<p>On Thursday, the CIA also released images of Director John Ratcliffe during what appear to be face-to-face negotiations with leadership in Havana on Thursday.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Trump administration is pressuring Cuba as the communist nation experiences energy shortages after oil shipments were cut off from Venezuela. Cuba&#8217;s already bleak energy crisis worsened after the United States captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in early January and took control of Venezuelan oil sales. Venezuela, which shipped oil to American adversaries around the globe, had previously been Cuba&#8217;s main oil exporter.  </span></p>
<p>Maduro was captured by U.S. forces in a midnight raid on his compound after he was hit with multiple charges in the United States, including narco-terrorism.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">CIA Director John Ratcliffe told Raúl Castro earlier this month that President Trump is &#8220;prepared to seriously engage on economic and security issues, but only if Cuba makes fundamental changes.” President Trump argues that Cuba has developed close relationships with United States adversaries including China, Russia, and Iran. Trump also says that Cuba has provide refuge for American enemies, creating a national security risk. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Trump has publicly floated regime change and other aggressive actions toward Cuba. </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/51-prisoners-to-be-freed-as-cuba-shows-cracks-under-trump-pressure"><span style="font-weight: 400;">In March</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, he suggested the United States could pursue what he described as a “friendly takeover.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“It may be a friendly takeover,” Trump said. “They’re really in, they’re down to, uh, as they say, fumes. They have no energy. They have no money. They’re in deep trouble on a humanitarian basis.” </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Yale University’s medical school illegally discriminates in admissions to favor black and Hispanic students, a Justice Department investigation found.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">On Thursday, the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division completed a year-long investigation into the Ivy League school’s admissions policies and practices. According to the federal government, Yale admits black and Hispanic applicants at higher rates than white and Asian applicants with similar academic credentials. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">&#8220;Black and Hispanic applicants were admitted with consistently lower academic qualifications than their White and Asian counterparts,&#8221; the DOJ said in a statement. &#8220;These facts support the Department’s </span><a href="https://www.justice.gov/crt/media/1440601/dl"><span style="font-weight: 400">finding</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> that Yale violated the law by intentionally discriminating based on race in its admissions, in clear violation of federal law.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The findings suggest Yale may be violating the <a href="https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/22pdf/20-1199_hgdj.pdf">landmark 2023 Supreme Court ruling</a> striking down race-based affirmative action policies at Harvard and the University of North Carolina.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">&#8220;The students admitted to Yale School of Medicine demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and personal commitment; its program of medical education encourages curiosity and critical thinking, and its graduates go on to become leaders in clinical care, research, and public service,&#8221; a university spokesperson said in a statement to The Daily Wire. &#8220;We will carefully review the Department of Justice’s letter. Yale School of Medicine is confident in the rigorous admissions process we follow. </span></p>
<p>The Department of Justice, however, disagrees.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">“Yale has continued its race-based admissions program despite the Supreme Court and the public’s clear mandate for reform,” Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon said. “This Department will continue to shed light on these illegal practices, and demand that institutions of higher education comply with federal law.”</span></p>
<p>Dhillon later pointed to the DOJ&#8217;s statistical analysis.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A Mexican national living in the United States illegally was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison for distributing and receiving child pornography on Facebook,</span><a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-ndms/pr/illegal-alien-mexico-sentenced-distribution-child-pornography-facebook-messenger"> <span style="font-weight: 400;">the Justice Department announced.  </span></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Adolfo Raul Vasquez-Santana, 32, of Southaven, Mississippi, was sentenced to 121 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for using Facebook Messenger to send and receive child sexual abuse material. The court also ordered him to pay $14,000 in penalties.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Local police began investigating after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Homeland Security Investigations, a division of ICE,  pursued federal charges after determining that Vasquez-Santana was living in the United States illegally.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">ICE placed an immigration detainer on Vasquez-Santana, and he is expected to face deportation after completing his prison sentence, according to authorities. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“HSI is committed to protecting children from predators who use technology to exploit them. When we received information about Vasquez-Santana, our agents acted quickly to investigate, arrest, and bring this individual to justice.  We remain vigilant against child predators and will continue to pursue these offenders wherever they operate,” Matt Wright, acting Special Agent in Charge for HSI New Orleans, said. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Our partners at Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) will ensure that once the defendant completes his federal sentence, he is removed from the United States and unable to pose further risk to our communities,” he added. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The case was prosecuted as part of</span><a href="https://www.justice.gov/dag/media/1393746/dl?inline"> <span style="font-weight: 400;">Operation Take Back America</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, a nationwide initiative that the Justice Department says &#8220;marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration&#8221; and &#8220;achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations.&#8221; </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Authorities said the case was also pursued under Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative established to fight sexual exploitation of children.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Child pornography is a plague,&#8221; U.S. Attorney Leary said. &#8220;Children are victimized not only through the production of obscene material, but through its continual distribution. Somehow, this debauchery has gained a foothold in our society. We need the public’s help. Please, when you see something troubling, let law enforcement know – we will respond.&#8221;</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wang, a <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/eileen-wang-arcadia-mayor-china-agent-charges-plea-11938753">Democrat</a>, was first elected to the five-member Arcadia City Council in November 2022. </span>The city operates a rotating mayoral system among its elected council members. <span style="font-weight: 400;">She has resigned from the city government and vacated her position as mayor, according to the city’s website. Arcadia has more than 54,000 residents and is located about 13 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Prosecutors say that between 2020 and 2022, Wang and her former fiancé and campaign manager, Yaoning “Mike” Sun, 65, of Chino Hills, acted at the direction of Chinese government officials, coordinating with U.S.-based individuals to advance Beijing’s interests by spreading pro-China propaganda in the United States. Sun pleaded guilty to acting as an illegal agent of a foreign government and</span><a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-cdca/pr/political-operative-sentenced-4-years-federal-prison-acting-covert-agent-peoples"> is <span style="font-weight: 400;">serving a four-year federal prison sentence. </span></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Under the plea agreement, Wang admitted she never notified the authorities that she was acting in the United States as a PRC agent.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Individuals elected to public office in the United States should act only for the people of the United States that they represent,” Assistant Attorney General for National Security John A. Eisenberg said.  “It is deeply concerning that someone who previously received and executed directives from PRC government officials is now in a position of public trust at all, but particularly so because that relationship with that foreign government had never been disclosed.”</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wang and Sun, according to the DOJ, operated the U.S. News Center, a website that presented itself as a news source for the local Chinese American community. Prosecutors say the pair acted on orders from Chinese government officials to publish state-sponsored propaganda. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In one example cited by prosecutors, a Chinese official contacted Wang through a messaging app in June 2021 and with &#8220;prewritten news articles,&#8221; including an essay published in the Los Angeles Times claiming there was “no genocide in Xinjiang” and no “forced labor” tied to cotton production in the region. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Minutes later, prosecutors say Wang posted the article on her own website and responded to the Chinese official with a link.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> “So fast, thank you, everyone,” the Beijing official responded. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;All Americans should be alarmed to learn an elected official was brazenly spreading propaganda on behalf of the Chinese government, Patrick Grandy, the Assistant Director of the FBI&#8217;s Los Angeles Field Office, said. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In November 2021, Wang communicated with an elite member of the PRC intelligence apparatus, who regularly attended Chinese Communist Party functions, including military parades, and met personally with PRC President Xi Jinping. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The charges come amid President Donald Trump&#8217;s trip to China this week. Trump is expected to arrive on Wednesday evening, and on Thursday morning, he is expected to participate in a welcome ceremony and a bilateral meeting with President Xi, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/daily-wire-asks-trump-about-jailed-publisher-jimmy-lai-he-responds-with-message-to-beijing">The Daily Wire previously reported.</a> On Friday, Trump will also participate in a bilateral working lunch with President Xi before heading home.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Individuals in our country who covertly do the bidding of foreign governments undermine our democracy,” First Assistant United States Attorney Bill Essayli said. “This plea agreement is the latest success in our determination to defend the homeland against China’s efforts to corrupt our institutions.”</span></p>

Feds Charge California Democrat For Acting As Chinese Agent

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When FBI agents and an armored vehicle rolled into a Portsmouth strip mall on Wednesday morning and ordered employees of a cannabis dispensary out with their hands up, Virginia Democrats had their narrative ready before the agents had finished bagging evidence. Sen. L. Louise Lucas, the most powerful Democrat in Richmond and the co-owner of the dispensary in question, declared that the search of her legislative office and her business was “about power and who is allowed to use it on behalf of the people.” House Speaker Don Scott blamed President Donald Trump’s “abuse of the Department of Justice.” Congressman Bobby Scott invoked the redistricting referendum Lucas had championed two weeks earlier. The Virginia Legislative Black Caucus warned of “personal political persecution.” Attorney General Jay Jones suggested the public should distrust the U.S. Attorney’s Office. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There is one inconvenient fact that none of them addressed. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The corruption probe that produced Wednesday’s warrants did not begin on January 20, 2025. It did not begin under Attorney General Pam Bondi or FBI Director Kash Patel. It began under former President Joe Biden, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and FBI Director Christopher Wray. CNN reported, citing a source familiar with the matter, that the searches are part of a federal corruption investigation related to marijuana dispensaries that opened during the prior administration. The New York Times confirmed the same timeline. The investigation predates the redistricting fight by years, predates Trump’s second term entirely, and was approved at every step by a Justice Department that Democrats themselves repeatedly described as the most professional in modern history. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That alone collapses the political-persecution defense. But the public record offers more. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In April, a federal grand jury indicted Carlton Upton Jr. on three felony counts of wire fraud. Upton owns one of the dispensaries searched on Wednesday and, according to local reporting, previously worked with Lucas as a business partner. Federal prosecutors do not obtain wire fraud indictments from grand juries on a hunch, and they certainly do not execute coordinated raids on a sitting state senator’s office, her business, and additional locations across the Commonwealth without a federal magistrate first reviewing a sworn affidavit and finding probable cause. A judge signed those warrants. Whether or not Lucas herself is ever charged, something in the underlying conduct of this enterprise persuaded a court that evidence of federal crimes was likely to be found inside her office.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Democratic response has been to act as if none of this matters. Lucas’s own statement did not address the substance of the investigation at all. She did not deny wrongdoing. She did not explain her financial relationship with the dispensary or with Upton. She pivoted directly to redistricting and Donald Trump. That is the move of a politician whose lawyers have told her not to engage on the merits, dressed up as a press release about democracy. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Speaker Scott’s complaint that Fox News appeared on the scene before local outlets is similarly beside the point. Reporters are constantly tipped off about federal raids. The interesting question is not who arrived first at the parking lot. The interesting question is what was inside the boxes that agents carried out. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There is a broader pattern worth noticing here, and it has nothing to do with Trump. Virginia legalized adult marijuana possession in 2021, but never built a functioning legal retail market. Into that vacuum stepped a gray-market industry of “gifting” shops, hemp-derived THC outlets, and storefronts operating in legal twilight, several of them with politically connected ownership. Sen. Lucas has been one of the General Assembly’s loudest advocates for expanding cannabis commerce, including legislation that would have routed tax revenue from sales into state coffers. When a state’s most powerful budget writer is also a co-owner of businesses operating in the very industry she is trying to regulate and tax, the conditions for federal interest are not manufactured by the White House. They are created by the senator. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Virginians are entitled to a presumption of innocence for Sen. Lucas, and she will receive one. What she is not entitled to is the conversion of every serious federal investigation involving a Democrat into a referendum on Donald Trump. Wednesday’s raid was authorized by a federal judge, executed pursuant to a probe opened under a Democratic administration, and follows a federal indictment of her former business partner. The political-persecution script does not survive contact with the calendar. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The voters of the Commonwealth deserve to know what happened in those Portsmouth offices. They will not learn it from a press release that mentions Donald Trump six times and the underlying facts zero.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On Wednesday&#8217;s NewsNight, a pompous and overconfident Neera Tanden, former senior Joe Biden White House official, talked over Scott Jennings, wildly gesturing and insisting that Joe Biden never went after his political opponents! She seemed personally offended by the suggestion.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maybe she’s still living in the brain-dead Biden era, where a constant ice cream-brain freeze obscured reality. But Joe Biden’s administration almost singularly targeted conservatives, Christians, and, as it turns out, nuns — for the crime of being nuns.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That’s one way to book a direct trip to hell. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">God’s not laughing.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is the same Cooney who is now running to represent Virginia&#8217;s 7th congressional district — right in the heart of the Diocese of Arlington, one of the most traditional Catholic dioceses in the United States, serving over 430,000 faithful. The irony appears entirely lost on him. You’d have to possess a breathtaking level of arrogance to miss it.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If this sounds familiar, it&#8217;s because earlier this month, the Trump DOJ&#8217;s Weaponization Working Group released an 800-page report exposing the lengths to which the Biden administration weaponized the FACE Act against peaceful pro-life defendants — mostly Christians — while barely acknowledging the firebombings, vandalism, and coordinated attacks on pregnancy centers and churches.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">They called Christian beliefs “culty” in open court, screened jurors for religiosity, and dispatched 16 FBI agents to arrest Catholic father Mark Houck in front of his weeping children. All while cozying up to abortion advocacy groups who fed them dossiers on pro-life activists. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sure, gas was high, the economy was in the toilet, and illegal migrants were flooding our borders. But hey, at least the nuns and baby-lovers were getting prosecuted. In fact, Biden prosecutors sought an average of 26.8 months in prison for pro-lifers.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I don’t want to hear about the “weaponization of the DOJ” from a former staffer of the man who wrote the book on it.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">One side note: In light of King Charles </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-empty-crown-why-america-should-ignore-king-charles"><span style="font-weight: 400;">jetting</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> here this week to lecture us on religious tolerance and “shared values” in his address to Congress, I ask that his majesty aim his bloody, blasphemous babbling at the previous president, please and thank you. As it was, he was the religiously intolerant one</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Of Christians.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Of course, beneath all of these lies is something far more sinister. It’s the quiet part they desperately want to say aloud: a seething hatred of the entire edifice of human rights, individual liberty, limited government, and objective morality that built the richest, freest, and most innovative societies in human history. That edifice rests on one revolutionary Judeo-Christian idea —</span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Imago Dei</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Every human being is made in the image of God. That single doctrine shattered pagan hierarchies, declared that kings and peasants alike have equal dignity before the Creator, and slapped a firm moral limit on the reach of government power.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />

</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">They despise the religious conviction that makes abortion grotesque. The faith that gave us the work ethic and charitable impulse that built universities, hospitals, and the scientific revolution. The moral foundation that gave us a rule of law, declaring that even the president answers to a higher authority. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">John Adams wasn’t kidding when he said the Constitution only works for “moral and religious people.” Strip away that Judeo-Christian root and you don’t get neutral secularism, you get moral subjectivism, where feelings replace facts and the state becomes the new God, deciding who has rights and who gets hunted. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Biden DOJ was purposeful and nefarious. It was, in effect, an extinction project. They know Christianity stands in the way of total cultural control, so they smear pro-lifers as “extremists,” surveil churches, stack the DOJ with activists who openly despise traditional faith, and literally text each other about hunting nuns.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">And then Neera Tanden has the audacity to sit on CNN and pretend none of it happened. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Spare us. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I think they’re arrogant ideologues who hold the rest of us in contempt. But I’ll still pray for them.</span></p>

<p>Cole Thomas Allen, 31, was armed with a shotgun, handgun, and knives when he charged through a security checkpoint inside the Washington Hilton Hotel, where the event was being held.</p>
<p id="anchor-6faf24" class="body-graf">One floor above the ballroom packed with government officials and reporters, Allen discharged one of his weapons, hitting a Secret Service agent in the vest, NBC reported on Wednesday. Some early reports indicated the agent may have been hit by friendly fire. The Secret Service agent was released from the hospital over the weekend.</p>
<p id="anchor-a60f9f" class="body-graf">Federal authorities have charged Allen with discharging a weapon, but he has not been separately charged with assaulting a federal officer.</p>

<p>At about 8:30 p.m., Allen left his hotel room and made his way toward the event. As he approached a security checkpoint, he threw off a long black coat that concealed his shotgun, then charged through the checkpoint and headed toward a staircase leading to the ballroom.</p>
<p>“Had the defendant achieved his intended outcome, he would have brought about one of the darkest days in American history,&#8221; prosecutors wrote.</p>
<p>Allen faces charges of attempting to assassinate the president of the United States, transporting a firearm and ammunition across state lines with intent to commit a felony, and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. If convicted, he faces life in prison.</p>

<p>The Justice Department provided the communications to Grassley as part of his investigation into Arctic Frost, an FBI investigation into Republicans and conservatives. Both Cooney and Gaston went on to serve as top deputies to Special Counsel Jack Smith throughout his Arctic Frost investigation. They now head &#8220;Gaston &amp; Cooney PLLC,&#8221; and Cooney is running for Congress in Virginia.</p>
<p>Grassley, who previously released messages showing that Cooney and other DOJ prosecutors sought to find ways to target Trump with criminal charges over January 6, told The Daily Wire that he found the messages appalling.</p>
<p>“Freedom of religion is a cherished First Amendment right enshrined in our Constitution by the Founding Fathers,&#8221; the senator said. &#8220;I was appalled, but sadly not surprised, to discover evidence of Biden DOJ prosecutors threatening to use the power of the federal justice system to target people of faith.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Time and again, my oversight has shown the Biden Justice Department, including these prosecutors who went on to advance Jack Smith’s Arctic Frost investigation, showed total disdain for equal justice,&#8221; he added.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Cooney, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment, is now running as a Democrat for a congressional seat in Virginia — specifically Virginia&#8217;s 7th congressional district, which is part of the Diocese of Arlington, one of the most traditional Catholic dioceses in the United States serving over 430,000 Catholics in the Northern Virginia area.</p>
<p>He&#8217;s running on an overtly anti-Trump platform, telling CNN last week: &#8220;Donald Trump needs to be impeached. I’m running for Congress to do it.&#8221;</p>

<p>Cooney also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/explosive-report-reveals-the-biden-administrations-disdain-for-religious-pro-life-activists?author=Mary+Margaret+Olohan&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=2&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Explosive+Report+Reveals+The+Biden+Administration%E2%80%99s+Disdain+For+Religious+Pro-Life+Activists" target="_blank" rel="noopener">disparaged the report</a> the DOJ put out this month on the weaponization of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, defending the Justice Department&#8217;s actions after it was exposed that the Biden DOJ used FACE to prosecute and imprison pro-life protesters while providing &#8220;extensive support to abortion clinics” and ignoring and downplaying &#8220;vandalism and attacks against pregnancy resource centers or houses of worship.”</p>
<p>The report also found that the Biden DOJ was in constant contact with pro-abortion groups to track the travel plans of Christian pro-life activists who had not been charged with any crimes.</p>
<p>Cooney, however, said he is proud of his team&#8217;s work on these cases.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Trump DOJ&#8217;s report on the FACE Act is false,&#8221; Cooney said in a post on social media. &#8220;I am proud of my team&#8217;s work prosecuting people who conspired to barricade a reproductive health clinic, shoved staff, and forced a woman seeking treatment to climb through a reception window. That&#8217;s not First Amendment activity — that&#8217;s a crime.&#8221;</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">In other messages reviewed by The Daily Wire, Cooney and Gaston discussed COVID-19 restrictions on Catholic masses. Gaston complained that it was &#8220;insane&#8221; for Catholics to be upset that then-President Joe Biden was receiving Holy Communion at Holy Trinity in Georgetown.</p>
<p>&#8220;People are insane,&#8221; she told Cooney.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s ridiculous,&#8221; he responded, before asking her if she was going to mass in person. When Gaston replied that no, she wasn&#8217;t going to mass, and she wasn&#8217;t even watching mass via a live stream, Cooney shared that someone he knew (their name was redacted) was going to &#8220;daily mass since the summer, thankfully without a problem.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;They really shouldn&#8217;t be doing that,&#8221; he added.</p>
<p>&#8220;Wow,&#8221; responded Gaston. &#8220;Good for them, except not.&#8221;</p>
<p>The New York Post&#8217;s Miranda Devine reported last summer that Cooney and other prosecutors showed &#8220;nitpicking malice&#8221; that &#8220;tainted special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation.&#8221;</p>
<p>“Can we do some work to nail down Trump’s role in this,” Cooney wrote to his colleagues at the DOJ in a March 8, 2023, email with the subject line: “J6 Prisoner Choir/DJT.”</p>
<p>Cooney attached an article from Forbes that was headlined “Trump Collaborates On Song With Jan. 6 Defendants,&#8221; writing that Trump recorded the January 6 prisoner choir singing the &#8220;Pledge of Allegiance&#8221; at Mar-a-Lago.</p>
<p>&#8220;Proceeds are intended for families of incarcerated J6 defendants — but there is apparently a vetting process that excludes families of defendants who assaulted police officers,&#8221; Cooney wrote, according to the New York Post, adding that he would talk to colleagues about &#8220;doing some follow up here to nail down Trump’s role.”</p>

<p>The United States Department of Justice on Tuesday indicted former FBI Director James Comey for a second time.</p>
<p>The new charges stemmed from a provocative Instagram post shared by the ex-FBI chief last year. Comey&#8217;s photo showed a seashell formation — which he claimed to have stumbled across by happenstance — depicting the numbers &#8220;86&#8221; and &#8220;47.&#8221;</p>

<p>Critics immediately assumed that the shell formation had a sinister meaning. In the restaurant world, &#8220;86&#8221; generally means to take out or eliminate, and &#8220;47&#8221; was a presumptive reference to President Donald Trump, who is currently serving as the 47th President of the United States.</p>
<p data-start="0" data-end="71">A federal grand jury in North Carolina <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nced.227449/gov.uscourts.nced.227449.1.0_2.pdf">returned a two-count felony indictment and an arrest warrant</a> against Comey: making threats to kill or harm President Trump, and sending those threats across state lines using social media.</p>

<p>The now-deleted post earned Comey a visit from the Secret Service — and the ousted FBI head honcho released a public message attempting to downplay the incident.</p>
<p>“I posted a picture earlier of some shells I saw on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message,” <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DJsN4GAPoxY/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=886304d8-adff-42b4-905a-620db16415c1">Comey said on Instagram.</a> “I didn’t realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down.”</p>
<p>The Justice Department said the case has been under investigation over the past 11 months.</p>
<p>&#8220;This investigation just didn&#8217;t come now. It&#8217;s the result of a lot of work by law enforcement over the past year,&#8221; Blanche said. &#8220;I am not going to talk about the evidence that we have. That&#8217;s unfair to him. It&#8217;s unfair to the prosecutors, but it&#8217;s enough to say that the grand jury returned an indictment.&#8221;</p>
