A Chinese national from Wuhan studying for a PhD was arrested on Sunday for attempting to smuggle &#8220;biological materials&#8221; into a laboratory at the University of Michigan, the Department of Justice <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-edmi/pr/alien-wuhan-china-charged-making-false-statements-and-smuggling-biological-materials">announced</a> on Monday.
The arrest of Chengxuan Han at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport is the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/feds-arrest-chinese-scholar-for-attempting-to-smuggle-pathogen-used-for-agroterrorism-into-u-s">second time</a> this month that a Chinese citizen with connections to the University of Michigan has been charged with smuggling potential biological threats into the country. According to the United States Attorney&#8217;s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan, Han sent four packages containing &#8220;concealed biological material&#8221; from China to the United States. The packages were all addressed to people &#8220;associated with a laboratory at the University of Michigan,&#8221; the DOJ said in a press release.
“The alleged smuggling of biological materials by this alien from a science and technology university in Wuhan, China—to be used at a University of Michigan laboratory—is part of an alarming pattern that threatens our security. The American taxpayer should not be underwriting a PRC-based smuggling operation at one of our crucial public institutions.”
Han is studying at a university in Wuhan — the city where the COVID virus likely leaked from a lab before it shut down the world&#8217;s economies and killed millions of people. The Chinese PhD student was questioned by Customs and Border Protection officers at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport on Sunday. During the questioning, Han &#8220;made false statements about the packages and the biological materials she had previously shipped to the United States,&#8221; which she later admitted to the FBI, according to the DOJ.

Han also allegedly told the FBI that she had previously sent the packages and said that they contained biological material related to <a href="https://www.ars.usda.gov/news-events/news/research-news/2023/bioluminescence-may-shine-light-on-roundworm-secrets/#:~:text=Even%20though%20roundworms%20are%20nearly,crop%20losses%20worldwide%20each%20year.">roundworms</a>, a parasitic worm that can &#8220;pose major problems in corn, soybean, peanut and other crops,&#8221; according to the U.S. government. There are many species of roundworms, many of which are uncommon in the United States. Some can cause health issues for humans, such as abdominal pain, fever, and diarrhea, if they get into the digestive system, the Cleveland Clinic <a href="https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/15240-roundworms">states</a>.
FBI Director Kash Patel revealed last week that a Chinese scholar at the University of Michigan was arrested and charged with attempting to smuggle a biological pathogen into the United States that could be used for agricultural terrorism, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/feds-arrest-chinese-scholar-for-attempting-to-smuggle-pathogen-used-for-agroterrorism-into-u-s">reported</a>.
According to federal prosecutors, Michigan scholar Yunqing Jian, along with her boyfriend, Zunyong Liu, tried to <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-edmi/pr/chinese-nationals-charged-conspiracy-and-smuggling-dangerous-biological-pathogen-us">smuggle</a> Fusarium graminearum into the United States. Fusarium graminearum can cause “head blight,” a disease that can wipe out wheat, barley, maize, and rice crops and “is responsible for billions of dollars in economic losses worldwide each year.” The pathogen can also cause “vomiting, liver damage, and reproductive defects in humans and livestock.”

Evidence has been presented that an antisemitic activist who protested against Israel on Columbia University’s campus had a direct link to Hamas.
Tarek Bazrouk, 20, a New York native who has been indicted for three federal hate crimes against Jews, was “a member of a chat group that received regular updates from Abu Obeida,” the official spokesperson for Hamas’ deadly al-Qassam Brigades, <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/06/04/us-news/protestor-tarek-bazrouk-had-link-to-hamas-militants-doj/">the New York Post</a> said in an exclusive report.

“As alleged, on three separate occasions, Tarek Bazrouk deliberately targeted and assaulted Jewish victims at protests relating to the Israel/Gaza war,” U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton for the Southern District of New York <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/new-york-man-charged-federal-hate-crimes-after-repeatedly-assaulting-jewish-victims">stated</a>. “Despite being arrested after each incident, Bazrouk allegedly remained undeterred and quickly returned to using violence to target Jews in New York City.”
The Department of Justice stated:

According to court documents, pursuant to judicially authorized warrants, law enforcement subsequently searched a cellphone used by Bazrouk. Evidence from that device revealed Bazrouk’s anti-Semitic bias and his support for anti-Jewish terrorist groups including Hamas, demonstrating his motivation for repeatedly assaulting Jewish victims. In text messages, for example, Bazrouk identified himself as a “Jew hater,” labeled Jews as “worthless,” extorted “Allah” to “get us rid of [Jews],” called an acquittance [sic] a “F***ing Jew,” and told a friend to “slap that b***h” in reference to a woman with an Israeli sticker on her laptop. Bazrouk also told a friend that he was “mad happy” to have learned that certain of his family members overseas are part of Hamas.

“He also had a picture of Obeida and one of an individual waving a Hamas flag, and an al-Qassam Brigades meme, which reads: ‘By God I would not trade the Al Qassam Brigades for the world and everything in it. May God be pleased with them and allow them to break the wicked enemy through him,&#8217;” the Post noted, adding, “Prosecutors also claimed that Bazrouk had traveled to the West Bank and Jordan for approximately three weeks in September and October 2024, which also poses questions regarding what he was doing there.”
When Barzouk was arrested, federal agents discovered $750,000 in cash in a safe at his home. His attorney insisted the money was likely profit from his job at a smoke shop.

The Justice Department, led by Attorney General Pam Bondi, pointed out the leftist bias of the American Bar Association (ABA) and ordered that it will bo longer have access to non-public information, including bar records.
The ABA uses a ratings process in which their Standing Committee rates each nominee &#8220;Well Qualified,&#8221; &#8220;Qualified&#8221; or &#8220;Not Qualified.&#8221; “Unanimous committee ratings appear as a single rating. In other situations, the rating from the majority or substantial majority (2/3 or more of those voting) of the Committee is recorded first, followed by the rating or ratings of a minority of the Committee. The majority rating is the rating of the committee,” the ABA notes on its <a href="https://www.americanbar.org/groups/committees/federal_judiciary/ratings/">website</a>.
“The ABA has a history of taking liberal positions on issues including abortion, the death penalty, same-sex marriage, affirmative action, and the Second Amendment,” National Review <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/bench-memos/yes-the-aba-is-still-a-left-wing-advocacy-group/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a> in 2019. “The organization’s ideological bias has long tainted its ratings of judicial nominees. An entire book on the subject was written as early as 1965, Joel B. Grossman’s Lawyers and Judges: The ABA and the Politics of Judicial Selection.”
Of the 15 members on the ABA’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary in 2019, five donated to Barack Obama’s campaign, three to that of Hillary Clinton, and none to the three Republican nominees between 2008-2016. Incredibly, the ABA gave a minority “Not Qualified” rating to iconic Judge Robert Bork and other conservative legal scholars, including Richard A. Posner, Edith H. Jones, and William H. Pryor, among others.
“For several decades, the American Bar Association has received special treatment and enjoyed special access to judicial nominees,” Bondi wrote in a letter to ABA President William Bay. “In some administrations, the ABA received notice of nominees before a nomination was announced to the public. Some administrations would even decide whether to nominate an individual based on a rating assigned by the ABA.”
She continued:

Unfortunately, the ABA no longer functions as a fair arbiter of nominees&#8217; qualifications, and its ratings invariably and demonstrably favor nominees put forth by Democratic administrations. The ABA&#8217;s steadfast refusal to fix the bias in its ratings process, despite criticism from Congress, the Administration, and the academy, is disquieting. Accordingly, while the ABA is free to comment on judicial nominations along with other activist organizations, there is no justification for treating the ABA differently from such other activist organizations and the Department of Justice will not do so. Specifically, the Office of Legal Policy will no longer direct nominees to provide waivers allowing the ABA access to non-public information, including bar records. Nominees will also not respond to questionnaires prepared by the ABA and will not sit for interviews with the ABA.

“Last night, this young couple, with the rest of their lives in front of them, was gunned down by a terrorist screaming ‘Free Palestine,’” Moreno said.
Lischinsky had bought a ring and planned to propose to Milgram in Jerusalem next week.
Moreno demanded immediate action from the DOJ and D.C. police: “The violence against Jews must stop.”
“In light of this horrific attack, I respectfully request you immediately launch an investigation into this hate crime and act of domestic terrorism. The city of Washington D.C. must also conduct a full review of the security failures that allowed this terrorist attack to happen,” Moreno said.
U.S. law enforcement appears to be moving in this direction, with FBI Director Kash Patel on Thursday characterizing the attack as “act of terror” and “targeted anti-Semitic violence.”

Moreno further <a href="https://www.adl.org/resources/report/audit-antisemitic-incidents-2024">emphasized</a> the urgency of addressing antisemitic violence, noting, “In 2024, the nation saw the highest number of antisemitic incidents in almost 50 years,” in addition to the “344 percent increase in antisemitic incidents over the past five years and an 893 percent increase over the past 10 years,” per the Anti-Defamation League.
Moreno requested that authorities “launch an investigation into this hate crime and act of domestic terrorism, prosecute the heinous murderer to the fullest extent of the law,” and report to his office a review of &#8220;all protocols to identify how this security failure occurred.”

On Wednesday, the Trump administration’s Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division said lawsuits against the Louisville, Kentucky, and Minneapolis, Minnesota, police departments would be dismissed.
The DOJ countered the lawsuits filed by the Biden administration in the waning moments of Biden’s presidency.
Those lawsuits accused the police departments of &#8220;unconstitutional policing practices by wrongly equating statistical disparities with intentional discrimination and heavily relying on flawed methodologies and incomplete data,” the DOJ <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/us-department-justices-civil-rights-division-dismisses-biden-era-police-investigations-and" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a>. “They also sought to subject the Louisville and Minneapolis police departments to sweeping consent decrees that went far beyond the Biden administration’s accusations of unconstitutional conduct.”
The Minneapolis and Louisville investigations followed the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor in 2020.

Garland <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/21/us/politics/justice-department-minneapolis-police.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> an investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department and whether it had used excessive force or treated minorities unfairly. In 2023, Biden’s DOJ <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/3889776-doj-issues-scathing-civil-rights-report-on-louisville-police/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> results of its investigation into the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), saying it had acted with discriminatory behavior against black people. Both police departments reached consent decrees with the Biden administration.
The consent decree with Minneapolis <a href="https://mn.gov/mdhr/mpd/agreement/terms.jsp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">enjoined</a> the police department to:

The consent decree’s demands of the Louisville police are listed <a href="https://www.justice.gov/archives/opa/pr/justice-department-secures-agreement-louisville-metro-government-reform-louisville-metros">here</a>.
“The decrees would have governed many aspects of those police departments, including their management, supervision, training, performance evaluations, discipline, staffing, recruitment, and hiring,” the DOJ continued. “In short, these sweeping consent decrees would have imposed years of micromanagement of local police departments by federal courts and expensive independent monitors, and potentially hundreds of millions of dollars of compliance costs, without a legally or factually adequate basis for doing so.”
“Overbroad police consent decrees divest local control of policing from communities where it belongs, turning that power over to unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats, often with an anti-police agenda,” Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the Justice Department&#8217;s Civil Rights Division declared. “Today, we are ending the Biden Civil Rights Division’s failed experiment of handcuffing local leaders and police departments with factually unjustified consent decrees.”
In addition, the Civil Rights Division “will also be closing its investigations into, and retracting the Biden administration’s findings of constitutional violations” on the part of the police departments of Phoenix, Arizona; Trenton, New Jersey; Memphis, Tennessee; Mount Vernon, New York; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and the Louisiana State Police.

WASHINGTON—The House of Representatives will take steps towards repealing the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act this week, a law repeatedly weaponized against pro-life activists by President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration.
Lawmakers on Wednesday will mark up H.R. 589, the <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/589">FACE Act Repeal Act of 2025</a>, which Texas Congressman Chip Roy introduced in January. The bill &#8220;repeals provisions of federal criminal law that prohibit conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with persons who are seeking to (1) obtain or provide reproductive health services, or (2) exercise their right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship.&#8221;
Senator Mike Lee of Utah introduced the <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/223?s=1&amp;r=78">Senate version of the bill</a> in January as well.
The move comes after years of work from Roy and his team, who aggressively argued in favor of repealing the FACE Act while the Biden Justice Department used the law to imprison <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/defend-our-country-imprisoned-pro-life-activists-urge-americans-to-vote-against-kamala">pro-life activist</a> after pro-life activist from 2022 to 2024, often pairing FACE with a felony conspiracy charge to lock peaceful pro-life protesters. President Donald Trump pardoned these imprisoned activists earlier this year.
&#8220;Over the past 4 years, we have witnessed the weaponization of the justice system, using the FACE Act to jail Americans fighting for the right to life,&#8221; Roy told The Daily Wire on Monday afternoon. &#8220;It is not enough to merely end Biden-Harris era discrimination — we must act to reverse course, ensuring selective and unfair political prosecutions are never again possible under this statute.&#8221;

&#8220;While I am proud that the FACE Act is finally being moved through committee, Congress should move quickly to repeal the FACE Act and put an end to legal harassment of pro-life Americans once and for all,&#8221; he added.
The FACE Act was intended to protect abortion clinics, pregnancy centers, and places of worship. But the Biden administration — led by former U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Kristen Clarke — almost exclusively used it to target the pro-life movement following the May 2022 leak of the draft Supreme Court opinion showing that Roe v. Wade would soon be overturned.
Roe’s overturn increased “the urgency” of the Justice Department’s work, <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2022/12/12/doj-official-admits-targeting-pro-lifers-is-response-to-overturn-of-roe/">Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta</a> said, including the “enforcement of the FACE Act, to ensure continued lawful access to reproductive services.”
Roy&#8217;s office obtained data that confirmed the Biden Justice Department charged 24 FACE Act cases against 55 defendants, and just two of those cases were brought in defense of pregnancy centers. None were brought in defense of a house of worship, even though hundreds of Catholic Churches have been attacked, firebombed, and vandalized with pro-abortion slogans since the Supreme Court leak.
&#8220;Nearly 92% of all Biden-Harris FACE Act cases were brought against pro-life demonstrators, despite over <a href="https://catholicvote.org/tracker-church-attacks/">285 churches</a> and <a href="https://catholicvote.org/pregnancy-center-attack-tracker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">94 pregnancy resource centers and pro-life groups</a> being attacked and vandalized since May 2022,&#8221; Roy <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/heres-why-the-face-act-must-be-repealed">wrote in a Daily Wire op-ed in October</a>.
&#8220;To stop this growing weaponization and intimidation, Congress should stop this targeted harassment and ensure the FACE Act is repealed,&#8221; he added at the time. &#8220;Allowing it to remain means permitting bureaucrats at the highest levels of government to unequally apply the law, target pro-life Americans with unwarranted retaliation, and shield a radical abortion industry.&#8221;
The move is also significant given that Trump&#8217;s Justice Department is rolling back <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-89-year-old-woman-convicted-faces-over-a-decade-in-prison-for-peaceful-pro-life-protest" target="_blank" rel="noopener">aggressive prosecution</a> of the FACE Act, saying that the Biden administration weaponized the law against pro-life protesters.
In a January memo, Trump Justice Department Chief of Staff Chad Mizelle said that it will only prosecute the FACE Act in cases of “extraordinary circumstances” or in instances related to “death, serious bodily harm, or serious property damage.”
“Cases not presenting significant aggravating factors can adequately be addressed under state or local law,” the memo said. “Additionally, until further notice, no new abortion-related FACE Act actions — criminal or civil — will be permitted without authorization from the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division.”

WASHINGTON—The Department of Justice is taking funds that it formerly granted to groups supporting transgender ideology and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and using these funds to support United States law enforcement, documents obtained by The Daily Wire show.
The move is reflective of President Donald Trump&#8217;s aggressive <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-transportation-department-learns-its-funding-54-million-in-woke-grants-and-ends-them?author=Mary+Margaret+Olohan&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=8&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=EXCLUSIVE%3A+Transportation+Department+Learns+It%E2%80%99s+Funding+%2454+Million+In+Woke+Grants+%E2%80%94+And+Ends+Them">push to weed out</a> government use of taxpayer funding for woke or <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-hegseth-makes-monumental-change-to-admissions-at-military-academies?author=Mary+Margaret+Olohan&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=3&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=EXCLUSIVE%3A+Hegseth+Makes+Monumental+Change+To+Admissions+At+Military+Academies">ideological purposes</a>. That&#8217;s particularly significant in the Department of Justice, where, under President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration, Americans were targeted and investigated for practicing their faith, participating in peaceful pro-life protests, or pushing back against explicit gender ideology and sex education in schools.
After news broke that the Justice Department <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-justice-dept-grant-cuts-valued-811-million-people-familiar-say-2025-04-24/">was slashing $811 million in grants</a>, legacy media outlets <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/federal-grants-halted-justice-department-hate-crime-sex-trafficking-refugees/">fear-mongered</a> that the department was targeting victims of &#8220;hate crimes, child abuse, school violence, and more.&#8221; Curious about the Justice Department&#8217;s large-scale review of its federal grant programs — and what grants the department had been funding — Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, first obtained by The Daily Wire, asking Bondi to explain the Justice Department&#8217;s grant review and appeals process.
The department&#8217;s response, also first reported by The Daily Wire, reveals that the vast majority of grants the Justice Department has cut were grants awarded to non-governmental entities — &#8220;not to states or local jurisdictions that directly serve our communities.&#8221;

A sample of terminated grants reviewed by The Daily Wire shows that the Justice Department had previously awarded grants explicitly tied to ideological causes misaligned with the priorities of the current administration.
For example, the Diversity Center of Oklahoma was awarded $200,000 &#8220;to provide culturally responsive services&#8221; to marginalized groups, specifically &#8220;Black and Brown women, including Black transgender women,&#8221; in the Oklahoma City and Folsom Metro areas. The grant specifically mentions that it will fund services including &#8220;gender affirming medical care,&#8221; which is a common euphemism for transgender surgeries, hormones, and puberty blockers.
Another of the Justice Department grants funneled over $700,000 to the Wisconsin-based F.O.R.G.E. INC., to be used to address &#8220;major types of violence/crime&#8221; against trans-identifying individuals and to &#8220;add a particular focus on the experience of trans women and girls of color&#8221; — meaning men and boys who identify as females. Part of this effort would mean &#8220;convening 23 listening sessions of trans survivors&#8221; and a &#8220;stakeholders advisory group&#8221; made up of &#8220;providers and trans community members.&#8221;
The Justice Department also awarded $50,000 to the Texas-based Civic Heart Community Services to create a &#8220;youth-led anti-gun violence mural art&#8221; as well as a &#8220;launch&#8221; of that mural &#8220;celebrated by a song and creative arts expression.&#8221;
And, perhaps most significantly, a fourth Justice Department grant awarded $250,000 to the Washington State Department of Corrections in 2022, during the Biden administration, to promote transgenderism within the state&#8217;s prisons, where men who identify as women are housed with female prisoners. The Biden administration kept the grant alive even after female inmate Mozzy Clark filed a lawsuit in December 2024 accusing a male prisoner who identifies as a female of repeatedly sexually assaulting her in a Washington State prison.
The grant&#8217;s deliverables include &#8220;hiring a Transgender Housing and Program Manager&#8221; and pushing to reduce &#8220;misconceptions among staff and incarcerated individuals about transgender and non-binary individuals.&#8221;
&#8220;This grant is intended to foster an environment that promotes sexual safety for all transgender and non-binary individuals remanded to the custody of DOC and serve as a change model for the rest of the nation to follow,&#8221; the grant stated.
Meanwhile, Clark <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2025/05/08/exclusive-male-transgender-inmate-who-allegedly-terrorized-female-cellmate-long-history-prison-violence/">was imprisoned</a> with Christopher Scott Williams, a “6 foot, 4 inch biological male who was known to be a violent, convicted sexual predator,” in the Washington Corrections Center for Women. Williams requested a transfer to the women&#8217;s prison in 2021 and was granted one, even though he had a lengthy history of violence and serious violations in male prisons, as <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2025/05/08/exclusive-male-transgender-inmate-who-allegedly-terrorized-female-cellmate-long-history-prison-violence/">The Daily Caller News Foundation reported</a>.
Clark&#8217;s story is not the only one of its kind. Across the country, hundreds of men identifying as women have moved to women&#8217;s facilities despite their history of violent crimes against women and children. In California, a two-time baby killer identifying as a transgender woman successfully transferred to a women’s prison where the mother of his child was housed. And the Wisconsin Department of Corrections <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2024/02/26/exclusive-female-inmate-forced-to-bunk-with-masturbating-transgender-prisoner-who-raped-daughter-messages-claim/">housed a trans-identifying man</a> who raped his own daughter with women, forcing a female prisoner to bunk with him despite the inmate&#8217;s sexually aggressive comments, constant masturbating, and aggressive behavior.
The Justice Department will reallocate the funds that were going to these types of grants to future awards that align with the Trump administration&#8217;s goals, such as “supporting law enforcement operations, combatting violent crime, protecting American children, supporting American victims of trafficking and sexual assault, and enhancing coordination among law enforcement at all levels of government,&#8221; the attorney general&#8217;s office told Grassley in a letter late last week.
The Justice Department&#8217;s former grant recipients who have been given termination notices won&#8217;t have to return any of the funds they had been given, but they will not continue to receive funding in the future. And they can appeal their grant termination within 30 days of receiving the termination notice if they believe their grant should not have been cancelled.
&#8220;If an appeal is deemed successful upon review by the Department, the Department will rescind the notice of termination and promptly reinstate the award,&#8221; the Justice Department told Grassley. Some have already been restored, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-justice-dept-grant-cuts-valued-811-million-people-familiar-say-2025-04-24/">as Reuters reported.</a>
The reallocation of funding to law enforcement operations matches the Trump administration&#8217;s emphasis on simultaneously beefing up American defense while cutting down ideological priorities, in contrast to the previous administration.

Defense spending will be increased by 13% under the proposed budget, and appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security will be increased by almost 65% “to ensure that our military and other agencies repelling the invasion of our border have the resources they need to complete the mission.&#8221;

The Trump administration’s Department of Justice has <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/chinese-company-and-three-chinese-nationals-indicted-unlawfully-importing-pill-making" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that a federal grand jury indicted a Chinese company and three Chinese nationals for allegedly illegally importing equipment capable of producing millions of potentially lethal fake pills.
The indictment, unsealed on Monday, targeted CapsulCN International Co. Ltd. (CapsulCN) and Xiochuan “Ricky” Pan, 40, Tingyan “Monica” Yang, 37, and Xi “Inna” Chen, 30, all of whom were charged with smuggling, Controlled Substances Act, and money laundering offenses in connection with CapsulCN’s unlawful import and distribution of tableting machines (also known as “pill presses”), encapsulating machines, and counterfeit die molds.
“Over a quarter of a million Americans have died from a fentanyl overdose since 2018,” USA Facts <a href="https://usafacts.org/articles/are-fentanyl-overdose-deaths-rising-in-the-us/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">notes</a>. &#8220;During 2023, approximately 72,000, or nearly seven in 10, drug overdose deaths in the United States were estimated to involve illegally manufactured fentanyls (IMFs),” the CDC has <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/73/wr/mm7348a2.htm#:~:text=During%202023%2C%20approximately%2072%2C000%2C%20or,in%20the%20U.S.%20drug%20supply." target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“Four internet domains used by CapsulCN to market and sell illicit pill-making equipment to U.S. customers were seized today in connection with this investigation,” the DOJ revealed.
“This indictment and today’s domain seizures send an unmistakable message to criminals in the People’s Republic of China and across the world — the Department will use every weapon in its arsenal to combat those who facilitate the manufacture and distribution of deadly drugs in the United States,” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stated.
“This U.S. Attorney’s Office is focused on bringing the full force of justice to anyone who conspires to poison our communities with fentanyl,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Margaret Leachman for the Western District of Texas. “Whether through the importation of pill presses and related materials, as alleged in this indictment, or through trafficking precursor chemicals and the drug itself, it is evident that bad actors are determined to harm Americans with fentanyl. Our federal prosecutors, through collaborative efforts with our law enforcement partners, are determined to stop them.”
“These indictments against Chinese nationals exemplify Homeland Security Investigations’ unwavering commitment to breaking every link of the global fentanyl supply chain,” Special Agent in Charge Jason T. Stevens of the HSI El Paso Division echoed. “We are committed to continue working hand-in-hand with our domestic and international law enforcement partners to get deadly fentanyl out of our communities and put an end to the chaos and devastation resulting from this epidemic.”
The DOJ explained:

These fake pills often mimic the look, feel, and effect of legitimate pharmaceutical drugs and are particularly dangerous and misleading to U.S. consumers, who may falsely believe they are taking legitimate prescription medication that is safer and less addictive than the fentanyl and methamphetamine the pills really contain.

The effort to discover the illegal importation was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. “Established in 1982, OCDETF is the centerpiece of the Attorney General’s strategy to combat transnational-organized-crime and to reduce the availability of illicit narcotics in the nation by using a prosecutor-led, multi-agency approach to enforcement,” the DOJ <a href="https://www.justice.gov/ocdetf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">states</a>.

Federal authorities say they have saved more than 100 children in an operation that resulted in the capture of more than 200 sex offenders.
The Department of Justice <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-ndny/pr/justice-department-announces-results-operation-restore-justice">announced</a> Wednesday that the FBI arrested 205 child sex offenders throughout the country in Operation Restore Justice, part of a nationwide crackdown on child sex trafficking and abuse that the agency says “resulted in the rescue of 115 children.”
“The Department of Justice will never stop fighting to protect victims — especially child victims — and we will not rest until we hunt down, arrest, and prosecute every child predator who preys on the most vulnerable among us,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi as she announced the operation, which took place over the course of five days. “I am grateful to the FBI and their state and local partners for their incredible work in Operation Restore Justice and have directed my prosecutors not to negotiate.”
Among the more than 200 suspects arrested in the operation are an illegal alien from Mexico, a former Washington D.C. police officer, and a Minnesota State Trooper and Army reservist. The suspects have been charged with a range of crimes, including child sex trafficking, possessing, producing, or distributing child sexual abuse material, and online enticement of minors.
Bondi also <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/05/07/us-news/hundreds-of-alleged-sex-predators-arrested-by-fbi-and-doj-kash-patel-and-pam-bondi-announce/">warned</a> parents that they must keep an eye on their children&#8217;s activity online to ensure that they are not being targeted by predators. “Parents, you have to know this is so serious, your child has no right to privacy on the internet, none,” Bondi noted. “You have to monitor what your kids are doing, whether they’re playing games on the internet, on social media, any other websites that children and teenagers frequent, an online predator can find them.”
FBI Director Kash Patel said that the success of the operation, which involved agents from 55 field offices, sends a clear message to those who prey on children. “Every child deserves to grow up free from fear and exploitation, and the FBI will continue to be relentless in our pursuit of those who exploit the most vulnerable among us,” Patel said.
“Operation Restore Justice proves that no predator is out of reach and no child will be forgotten. By leveraging the strength of all our field offices and our federal, state and local partners, we’re sending a clear message: there is no place to hide for those who prey on children.”

Federal authorities carried out a raid on a massive fentanyl peddling ring in New Mexico that was tied to the Sinaloa Cartel, resulting in the arrest of 16 individuals and the largest fentanyl seizure in American history, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Tuesday.
The raid was carried out by the Drug Enforcement Administration and other law enforcement partners and resulted in the seizure of 11.5 kilograms of concentrated fentanyl powder, 49 firearms, millions of dollars in cash, luxury vehicles, meth, heroin, cocaine, and nearly “three million pills … laced with fentanyl, labeled as oxycodone,” Attorney General Pam Bondi noted. The shocking amount of fentanyl is enough to kill millions of Americans, with just 2 milligrams being a <a href="https://www.dea.gov/resources/facts-about-fentanyl">lethal dose</a> for adults.

Sixteen people were arrested in the operation, including the leader of the drug smuggling ring, an illegal alien with ties to the Sinaloa Cartel, which was designated as a foreign terror organization earlier this year. Six of those arrested in the operation were in the country illegally, Bondi noted.

“We will be hopefully working with them on one soon,” Bondi said in response to Olohan’s question. “But yes, Mexico has been cooperating in the past. I think we extradited 29 here to our country to face charges,” adding that those brought in to face American justice are “some of the top cartel members in our nation’s history.”
Bondi also highlighted the scale of the fentanyl crisis facing America, noting that “75,000 Americans are dying each year because of fentanyl” before adding that the DOJ “will not stop until this poison is off of our streets and out of our country.”
“More seizures are coming, more arrests are coming,” Bondi promised. “I guarantee you that.” The Attorney General noted that the six illegal aliens, including Heriberto Salazar Amaya, the leader with ties to the Sinaloa Cartel, will face American justice instead of being deported back to their countries of origin.

In movies like Enemy of the State, Americans are shown a dystopian world where government surveillance turns ordinary citizens into targets, with shadowy agencies tracking their every move without oversight or accountability. Sadly, this Hollywood nightmare is now reality.
During the Biden administration, federal agencies like the FBI were secretly monitoring law-abiding gun owners through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) — tracking their lawful firearm purchases without a warrant and without ever informing those being monitored. Even Congress was kept in the dark. What once seemed like fiction is now a troubling truth, as the federal government turns its surveillance powers inward against its own people, eroding the freedoms it was meant to protect.
For years, the FBI has been surveilling the gun purchases of thousands of law-abiding citizens using the NICS system. This daily NICS Monitoring program operates without the requirement of a warrant or probable cause, and entirely outside the purview of any court. It enables federal agents to select a target for surveillance and receive a notification every time the victim purchases a firearm. Surveilled Americans have no way of ever knowing they are being tracked.
None of this information is new. Gun Owners of America has reported on the FBI’s NICS Monitoring abuses <a href="https://www.ammoland.com/2024/12/foia-shows-the-extent-of-atf-monitoring-americans-through-fbis-nics-system/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">at length</a>, and the FBI’s warrantless surveillance program has been the subject of a years-long Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) lawsuit pitting GOA against a <a href="https://www.gunowners.org/atf-attempts-to-silence-gun-owners-of-america/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">belligerent</a> and uncooperative Department of Justice.
<h3>Ongoing NICS Monitoring Abuses</h3>
Naturally, being free to operate entirely without legal standards or judicial oversight, federal agents have rampantly abused NICS Monitoring, surveilling individuals engaged in all manner of innocuous activities. Without any accountability, agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) requested NICS Monitoring of individuals who purchased firearms in response to social unrest, those whose firearm expenditures appeared disproportionate to their income, and even persons who bought and sold firearms as a hobby.
During the Biden administration, federal agents even directed their surveillance toward ordinary Californians — like a modern-day Panopticon, where prison inmates can be secretly watched without knowing when. In a recent <a href="https://www.zerohedge.com/political/fbi-weaponizes-background-checks-enforce-california-gun-ban" target="_blank" rel="noopener">FOIA production</a>, GOA discovered that the FBI had been assisting in the enforcement of anti-gun states’ “assault weapons” bans. The FBI actually used NICS Monitoring on one individual for suspected violations of California’s unconstitutional gun regime — despite there being no evidence of any federal wrongdoing.
Thankfully, Pam Bondi’s DOJ recently <a href="https://x.com/GunOwners/status/1915855957927616648" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ordered the FBI</a> to end the Biden-era practice of using NICS monitoring to help enforce state gun laws. But who knows how long this practice has been occurring? Because with such a low bar for monitoring, perhaps you have also been NICS Monitored, maybe for nothing more than a Facebook comment or a bumper sticker, or attendance at a political rally. Of course, you would never know either way.
<h3>FBI Weaponization Against January 6 Protesters</h3>
Now, GOA has discovered that the FBI’s surveillance program goes further than previously thought. Recently obtained FOIA documents reveal the NICS Monitoring of a person suspected of being present at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
In fact, in one June 6, 2023 NICS Monitoring submission, an unnamed FBI agent requested NICS Monitoring of an individual’s lawful gun purchases for a period of six months, for several “violations or potential violations” that are common J6 charges:

<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">18 U.S.C. § 1752(a)(1) and (2) &#8211; Restricted Building or Grounds; </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">40 U.S.C. § 5104(e)(2)(E) &#8211; Impeding Passage through the Capitol Grounds or Buildings.</li>

Of course, this should come as no surprise. After all, the Biden-era FBI was no stranger to victimizing thousands of Trump supporters associated with January 6. On January 6 itself, the U.S. Capitol was crawling with <a href="https://www.zerohedge.com/political/legal-scholar-raises-concerns-over-doj-hiding-fbi-informants-jan-6">FBI informants</a>, seemingly directed to frame those attending the President’s “Save America” rally.
In the days that followed, the FBI <a href="https://thehill.com/hilltv/rising/540721-intercept-reporter-fbis-rapid-collection-of-phone-records-after-capitol-riot/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">aggressively collected</a> cell phone data of those who had been present in Washington, DC, often without a warrant. The FBI even improperly <a href="https://apnews.com/article/justice-department-fbi-surveillance-75c466a64e838ab12eaef96f6335f3cd" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accessed</a> information collected under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to target purely domestic persons and activities. And in the twilight hours of the Biden regime, the Department of Justice <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/fbi-searches-alleged-jan-6-rioters-home-ahead-donald-trumps-return-pre-rcna137787" target="_blank" rel="noopener">continued to raid</a> suspected January 6ers’ homes, with FBI operations extending well into December of 2024.
But now, the United States has a new Attorney General. And when Pam Bondi took her oath of office, she <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bondi-sworn-attorney-general-mission-end-weaponization-justice-department" target="_blank" rel="noopener">promised</a> to end the rampant “weaponization” of the FBI and to close Biden’s chapter of hyper-partisanship and two-tiered justice for good.
That promise will ring hollow if NICS Monitoring is not dismantled. So long as the mechanism remains in place to surveil gun owners’ lawful purchases — especially with no judicial approval or oversight — there is little stopping a future administration from resuming the abuses of Biden’s FBI.
What once seemed like the stuff of Hollywood thrillers has become a sobering fact of American life. The secret surveillance of lawful gun owners through NICS Monitoring is not just a bureaucratic overreach — it’s a direct assault on the freedoms that define our nation.
To restore trust in our institutions, Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel must act swiftly to end warrantless spying on law-abiding gun owners. Americans should not have to live in fear that exercising their rights will land them on a secret government watchlist. We are not characters in a movie — we are citizens of a free republic, and it’s time our government remembered that.

In a reversal from the Biden administration’s policy, the Trump administration&#8217;s Department of Justice has stripped the United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) — which has been accused of working with Hamas during the October 7, 2023, massacre of more than 1200 people in Israel — of immunity from prosecution. That decision will enable the billion-dollar lawsuit filed by the October 7 victims&#8217; families to move forward.
In a  letter from the United States Attorney, Southern District of New York, to U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres regarding the case Estate of Tamar Kedem Siman Tov et al. v. UNRWA, the text stated:

The complaint in this case recounts atrocious crimes committed by Hamas on October 7. And its factual allegations, taken as true, detail how the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (&#8220;UNRWA&#8221;) played a significant role in those heinous offenses. Previously, the Government expressed the view that certain immunities shielded UNRWA from having to answer those allegations in American courts. The Government has since reevaluated that position, and now concludes UNRWA is not immune from this litigation. Nor are the bulk of other defendants.
</blockquote>
The lawsuit<a href="https://unwatch.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/001-UNRWAComplaint.pdf"> states</a>:
<blockquote>The atrocities committed by Hamas in the October 7 Attack were not only acts of terror, genocide, and crimes against humanity, they were torts in violation of the law of nations. Because, as detailed below, the Defendants’ actions aiding and abetting those torts in violation of the law of nations, including but not limited to their funding of Hamas, occurred in significant part in the State of New York and in this federal judicial district, this Court has subject matter jurisdiction and venue over Plaintiffs’ claims against these Defendants. Many of the Plaintiffs separately have claims against Defendants for aiding and abetting Hamas’ violations of the Torture Victim Protection Act of 1991 (“TVPA”), which requires no such New York nexus.</blockquote>
“The US administration&#8217;s determination that UNRWA lacks diplomatic immunity could substantially facilitate Israel&#8217;s efforts to end the agency&#8217;s operations within Israeli territory,” Israel Hayom <a href="https://www.israelhayom.com/2025/04/25/trumps-doj-strips-unrwa-of-immunity/">pointed out</a>. “The lawsuit presents evidence alleging UNRWA orchestrated a $1 billion money laundering operation that funded Hamas, while simultaneously reducing humanitarian aid to Gaza residents and playing a critical role in the October 7 attack.”
Documents shared with <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/08/world/middleeast/hamas-unrwa-schools.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a> last December impelled the media outlet to admit that senior staff at UNRWA schools doubled as members of Hamas’ military wing.
As shown by the detailed records kept by the Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing, which were seized by Israel, at least 24 people employed by the anti-Israel UNRWA in their schools were members of Hamas or Islamic Jihad. “A majority were top administrators at the schools — principals or deputy principals — and the rest were school counselors and teachers, the documents say,” The Times reported. “Almost all of the Hamas-linked educators, according to the records, were fighters in the Qassam Brigades.”
“The Constitution does not grant immunity to foreign sovereigns or organizations. Instead, such immunity &#8216;is a matter of grace and comity on the part of the United States,’” the letter continued. “The interactions among two treaties, one statute, and one proposed convention govern whether UNRWA is entitled to such grace here. First, the International Organizations Immunities Act of 1945 (‘IOIA’) creates the ‘default rules’ for the immunity enjoyed by international organizations in the United States. Although apparently aimed at many of the same entities that now comprise the United Nations (‘UN’) system, id., the JOIA applies to any ‘public organization in which the United States participates pursuant to any treaty or under the authority of any Act of Congress &#8230; and which shall have been designated by the President through appropriate Executive order as being entitled to enjoy the privileges, exemptions, and immunities provided in this subchapter.’&#8221;
“In other words, Congress controls in the first instance whether the United States participates in such ‘public organizations’ and it empowered the President to decide whether to extend immunity to these organizations including ‘at any time to revoke the designation’ entitling the organizations to immunity,” the letter explains.
