The sun beat down on 3,000 eager attendees as Hunter Kozak approached the microphone at the bottom of the amphitheater to talk to Charlie Kirk. He seemed a little nervous, but cheerful, and prepared with his question.
It was September 10, 2025. From under his white tent across the stadium, Kirk leaned forward and greeted Kozak, a Utah Valley University student and <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@hunterekozak">liberal TikTok commentator</a>. &#8220;Hey Charlie,&#8221; said Kozak, according to footage taken by his wife and shared with The Daily Wire, telling the Turning Point USA founder that he was hoping &#8220;to have a little more disagreement&#8221; than those who asked questions before him.
He then launched into his question: &#8220;A few weeks ago there was a transgender mass shooter, and ever since then, about three weeks later, the Trump DOJ said that we should start talking about revoking gun rights for transgender Americans.&#8221; 
The crowd of students erupted into cheers. Six days earlier The Daily Wire had <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-trump-doj-considering-gun-ban-for-transgenders">reported</a> that the administration was &#8220;actively considering&#8221; ways to keep firearms out of the hands of individuals suffering gender dysphoria. 
&#8220;I think you&#8217;re in support of this decision, yes?&#8221; Kozak questioned Kirk. &#8220;Is that fair to say? All right, great. So, do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?&#8221; 
&#8220;Too many,&#8221; responded the 31-year-old TPUSA founder. It was only two weeks after the Annunciation school shooting, in which a trans-identifying killer had killed two children and injured many others when he opened fire on a Catholic school mass.
Kozak&#8217;s initial response to Kirk was drowned out by the cheering and clapping of the crowd. Then the UVU student can be heard saying, &#8220;It&#8217;s five. Ok, now five is a lot, right? I&#8217;m going to give you some credit. Do you know how many mass shooters there have been in America over the last ten years?&#8221; 
&#8220;Counting or not counting gang violence?&#8221; asked Kirk.
&#8220;Great,&#8221; began Kozak, ready with a retort based on his own analysis of gun violence and trans-identifying shooters. But his response never left his mouth. 
At that very moment a shot rang out. Kirk&#8217;s assassin had fired at 12:23 p.m. mountain time, hitting the TPUSA founder in the neck. By 2:40 p.m. local time, President Donald Trump had announced that Kirk was dead.
Kirk&#8217;s last conversation on earth centered on a topic that he had discussed at length, particularly throughout the end of August and beginning of September: the disturbing rise in transgender violence. Kirk was unapologetic about his stance, that trans-identifying individuals were targeting Christians, and, given their gender confusion, they were too mentally unwell to own firearms.
&#8220;If you are crazy enough to want to hormonally and surgically &#8216;change your sex,&#8217; you have a mental disorder, and you are too crazy to own a firearm,&#8221; he posted on &#8220;X&#8221; on August 27, 2025, the day that the trans-identifying shooter, Robert Westman, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/what-we-know-about-the-trans-identifying-gunman-who-slaughtered-catholic-school-children">killed Catholic school children</a> before taking his own life.
&#8220;First Nashville, now this,&#8221; Kirk asked the same day, referring to the trans-shooter who targeted children at Covenant Christian School. &#8220;How many times makes a trend?&#8221;
Westman’s attack came just two years after another that trans-identifying killer targeted Christian school children in Nashville. Leaders of Catholic and independent schools in Minnesota had <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/minnesota-catholic-school-leader-warned-tim-walz-of-urgent-and-critical-need-to-secure-schools?author=Mary+Margaret+Olohan&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=4&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Minnesota+Catholic+School+Leader+Warned+Tim+Walz+Of+%E2%80%98Critical%E2%80%99+School+Safety+Threats.+He+Did+Nothing." target="_blank" rel="noopener">begged Governor Tim Walz</a> to help prevent similar shootings, fearing that the next shooter would target one of their schools. That security funding was never authorized, a fact which became painfully evident after the Minneapolis shooting in late August.
Now five months later, the world is reeling from another <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/youtube-confirms-trans-themed-page-is-linked-to-canada-mass-shooting-suspect?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Canada+School+Attacker+Was+Trans+Identifying+Man%2C+Police+Confirm">transgender-identifying attacker</a>, this time in Canada. The shooter, a man who believed he was a woman and wore a dress, opened fire on a rural school in British Columbia, killing ten and injuring dozens. It is yet another example of transgender violence, but the pressing issue that Kirk was opining on regularly now seems to have fallen out of consideration.

It was after the Minneapolis shooting that the Department of Justice was deliberating how to respond to this rise in transgender violence. The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-trump-doj-considering-gun-ban-for-transgenders">broke the news</a> on September 4 that the DOJ was considering blocking trans-identifying people from buying firearms, reviewing ways to ensure that mentally ill individuals suffering from gender dysphoria are unable to obtain firearms while they are unstable and unwell,&#8221; according to one source.
The DOJ’s discussions centered on the acknowledgement that those who identify as transgender suffer from gender dysphoria, a mental disorder, which describes the sense of unease that a man or woman may feel if he or she thinks that their biological sex is mismatched with their so-called gender identity.
“Democrats have called for common sense gun laws for a long time,” one DOJ source told The Daily Wire in September. “This seems pretty common sense to me.”
The news sparked massive debate from both the Left and the Right, with many raising Second Amendment concerns about such a proposal.
Then, on September 10, a gunman identified by authorities as Tyler Robinson was charged with shooting Kirk in the neck. Robinson lived with his &#8220;transgender partner,&#8221; a male named Lance Twiggs who is attempting to transition to a transgender female. Twiggs had vanished from the public view for months but was <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15542527/lance-twiggs-trans-lover-Charlie-Kirks-accused-assassin-resurfaces.html">just this week spotted living quietly in Texas</a> as the investigation plays out.
While it is known that Robinson deeply disagreed with Kirk&#8217;s political views, it remains unclear whether Robinson specifically targeted Kirk for his views on transgenderism. The FBI&#8217;s investigation into the murder is ongoing.
But the fact remains that Robinson fired at Kirk as the TPUSA founder was addressing transgender violence.
A review by the Daily Wire found a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/why-were-naming-the-minneapolis-shooter?author=Brent+Scher&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Why+We%E2%80%99re+Naming+The+Minneapolis+Shooter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">steady stream of transgender-related violence</a> over the past decade. And given this rise, many conservatives on the right were calling for closer examination of transgender violence at the time of Kirk&#8217;s death. Some wanted action, furious that officials like Walz had not taken the situation more seriously. Walz instead signed legislation establishing Minnesota as a “trans refuge,” promising to “protect those seeking gender-affirming care.”
Kirk&#8217;s death had stunned the world. He was a personal friend of many members of President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration, including the leadership of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice. Many members of the president&#8217;s cabinet and wider administration traveled to Phoenix, Arizona to commemorate Kirk with his wife and the Turning Point USA team at a massive memorial in Kirk&#8217;s honor.

Five months after the shooting, it is not clear whether the DOJ discussions on banning guns for trans-identifying individuals have moved forward. The DOJ did not immediately comment on the matter to The Daily Wire. A source familiar with the Trump administration&#8217;s thinking said that the topic is not something that they have heard discussed since the Daily Wire&#8217;s original reporting in September.
Reached for comment on the matter, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said Friday that the administration is committed to &#8220;investigating, disrupting, dismantling, and prosecuting individuals and entities engaged in organized political violence and domestic terrorism.&#8221;
Jackson slammed left-wing organizations for fueling violent riots, organizing attacks on law enforcement officers, coordinating illegal doxing campaigns, arranging &#8220;drop points for weapons and riot materials, and more,&#8221; promising that the Trump administration will &#8220;get to the bottom of this vast network inciting violence in American communities, and the President’s executive actions to address left-wing violence will put an end to any illegal activities.&#8221;
Her statement did not directly address transgender violence or the proposed gun-ban, referencing the broader &#8220;domestic terrorism&#8221; at play in the United States. Yet there are a number of indicators that the administration is taking transgender violence seriously.
Aboard Air Force One on his way back from Kirk&#8217;s memorial, Trump told The Daily Wire that his administration was “very strongly” examining the string of transgender violence throughout the United States.
“You know, we’re looking at that,” the president said gravely, asking, “What’s the reason for it?”
“Yeah, there seems to be something,” he reflected. “But we’re looking at it very strongly. Something seems to be going on.”
Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to President Donald Trump and senior director for counterterrorism, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/calls-to-investigate-trans-domestic-terrorism-escalate-after-devastating-school-shooting?author=Mary+Margaret+Olohan&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=1&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Calls+To+Investigate+Trans+Domestic+Terrorism+Escalate+After+Devastating+School+Shooting">told The Daily Wire</a> in early September, before the assassination, that his draft U.S. Counterterrorism plan addresses transgender violence, asked whether there should be a transgender domestic terrorism label such as “Transgender Ideology-Inspired Violence and Extremism” (TIVE) (a classification <a href="https://glaad.org/understanding-anti-trans-tropes-transgender-ideology-inspired-violence-and-extremism/">suggested by The Oversight Project)</a>.
Trump advisor Stephen Miller and Vice President JD Vance, in interviews that took place shortly after Kirk&#8217;s death, vowed to dismantle the domestic terrorism movement within the United States.
&#8220;With God as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have at the Justice Department, Homeland Security, and throughout this government, to identify, disrupt, dismantle, and destroy these networks, and make America safe again for the American people,&#8221; said Miller. Vance similarly stressed: &#8220;We have to talk about this incredibly destructive movement of left-wing extremism that has grown up over the last few years, and I believe, is part of the reason why Charlie was killed by an assassin’s bullet.&#8221;
In December, Attorney General Pam Bondi <a href="https://charityandsecurity.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Bondi_Memo_On_Countering_Domestic_Terrorism_And_Organized_Political_Violence-1.pdf">issued a memo</a> to all federal prosecutors and law enforcement agencies that including &#8220;radical gender ideology&#8221; in a list of domestic terrorism threats.
&#8220;For too long,&#8221; her memo said, &#8220;rampant criminal conduct rising to the level of domestic terrorism—e.g., organized doxing of law enforcement, mass rioting and destruction in our cities, violent efforts to shut down immigration enforcement, targeting of public officials or other political actors, etc.—has been tolerated.&#8221;
&#8220;For some culpable actors, such as certain Antifa-aligned extremists, their animating principle is adherence to the types of extreme viewpoints on immigration, radical gender ideology, and anti-American sentiment listed below, with a willingness to use violence against law-abiding citizenry to serve those beliefs,&#8221; that memo continued. &#8220;Federal law enforcement will prioritize this threat.&#8221;
Where federal agents encounter crime, they will act, Bondi wrote. And where they encounter or suspect domestic terrorism, law enforcement will refer these matters to the Joint Terrorism Task Forces.

Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) is refusing to comply with a Justice Department investigation into a video she helped organize that urged U.S. service members to resist what she described as “illegal orders,” escalating a standoff with federal prosecutors.
Slotkin said this week she will not sit for a voluntary interview with investigators, saying in a <a href="https://x.com/SenatorSlotkin/status/2019474013307715592">statement</a> on X Thursday, “I’m not gonna be sitting for this inquiry. I’m not gonna legitimize their actions,” even as her legal team prepares for what it says could become litigation against the Justice Department.
Slotkin’s attorney informed U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro that the senator would decline a voluntary interview and requested that the office preserve documents for “anticipated litigation,” in letters first obtained by the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/slotkin-illegal-orders-video-justice-department-interview-06b6c041b158b2ed5911c52a16868764">Associated Press</a>. A separate letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi urged her to immediately terminate the inquiry and reject an FBI interview request.
The investigation stems from a video Slotkin released last year alongside five other Democratic lawmakers, all with prior military or intelligence experience, urging active-duty service members to refuse orders they believe to be unlawful. Republicans criticized the video as reckless and potentially encouraging insubordination, while President Donald Trump publicly accused the lawmakers of sedition.
Slotkin has sought to reframe the video as a civics lesson rather than a call to disobedience, insisting it was meant only to remind troops of their duty to reject illegal commands. But she has simultaneously accused federal authorities of attempting to silence her through intimidation.
“They are purposely using physical and legal intimidation to get me to shut up,” Slotkin said. “But more importantly, they’re using that intimidation to deter others from speaking out against their administration.”
Slotkin further warned officials at the Justice Department that while recent Supreme Court rulings have expanded presidential immunity, those protections do not extend to officials enforcing the law on the president’s behalf.
 “The Supreme Court may have given the president near-immunity on most matters,” she said, “but they’ve given no such immunity to those doing his bidding.”
The Justice Department’s requests have so far been voluntary, placing the burden on prosecutors to decide whether to escalate the inquiry by issuing subpoenas to sitting members of Congress. Asked whether she would comply if subpoenaed, Slotkin paused before responding, saying only that she would “take a hard look at it.”
Slotkin has portrayed the investigation as part of a broader campaign of intimidation, citing threats against her family and property following renewed attention to the video. “If they can do this to a sitting senator,” she said, “just imagine what they could do to a community leader, a business leader, or a mom who goes viral on the internet.”
The dispute has also raised questions about accountability for lawmakers who invoke military authority in partisan messaging, even as Slotkin positions herself as a victim of political overreach. The Pentagon has separately investigated Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ), another participant in the video, while Kelly has sued over efforts to discipline him.
Slotkin, a former CIA analyst and three-term House member before winning her Senate seat in 2024, has increasingly leaned into confrontation with the Trump administration. She has publicly urged Democrats to abandon restraint, “I&#8216;m from the Midwest and for us, leaders like our coaches are just — they have got some alpha energy to them,” Slotkin said when asked how she’d fix Democratic messaging in 2025. 
Her push to bring “alpha energy” back to the party has coincided with a divisive start to her Senate tenure. “I did this to go on offense,” Slotkin said of her refusal to cooperate. “To put them in a position where they have to own their choices.”
Whether that strategy forces the Justice Department to retreat now rests with federal prosecutors weighing how far to press an investigation into members of Congress who are openly daring them to act.

Don Lemon has been arrested by federal agents.
The former CNN talking head, who went out on his own and formed his own podcast, either trailed or was involved with a protest that pretty clearly violated the FACE Act, which was designed to guarantee access to abortion clinics for people who didn&#8217;t want to go through protests, and also designed to protect churches in their actual attempts to perform their services.
The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/30/us/don-lemon-arrest-minnesota-church-protest.html">reported</a>: 
<blockquote>“The former CNN anchor Don Lemon and three other people have been arrested on charges that they violated federal law during a protest at a church in St. Paul, Minn., this month, lawyers and Justice Department officials said on Friday, reviving a case that was rejected last week by a magistrate judge.”</blockquote>
Lemon was arrested late Thursday night on charges that he violated federal law. The case had been rejected last week by a magistrate judge. Lemon claims that he was simply reporting as a journalist when he entered Cities Church on January 18 to observe a demonstration against immigration crackdowns in the area. The protesters then got up and disrupted the service, where an ICE official serves as a pastor, chanting ‘ICE out!’”
The Trump administration attempted to charge eight people over the episode, including Lemon. The magistrate judge approved charges against three of the eight people and rejected the evidence against Lemon and the others as insufficient. So the DOJ petitioned the federal appellate court to force the judge to issue the additional warrants they were denied.

The claim being made by the Trump administration is that when these people invaded a church and disrupted services and started shouting at the pastor in violation of the FACE act, Lemon wasn&#8217;t just a person who followed them in there with a microphone, or even a journalist who knew beforehand that he was complicit in the organization of the event. He was involved in a conspiracy to disrupt services here for political purposes, they claim.
Lemon insists he “didn&#8217;t even know they were going to this church until we followed them there.” It appears that this is not true.
Lemon said, “Once the protest started in the church, we did an act of journalism, which was report on it and talk to the people involved, including the pastor, members of the church and members of the organization. That&#8217;s it. That&#8217;s called journalism.”
Again, doesn’t seem particularly true. Lemon claims that once the action started, he did not join them; he was simply reporting on it. Pretty clearly, they&#8217;re blurring the lines.
To be fair to Lemon and speaking legally, there is a fine line between a journalist doing a ride-along, even with people who are committing criminal acts, and journalists being involved in the planning and commission of the crime, which is what he’s accused of.
Naturally, people are claiming that this is a crackdown on the First Amendment. They are suggesting that this is an attempt by the Trump administration to “silence people.” That seems like a stretch to me. We&#8217;ll have to see what evidence they have, particularly in terms of prior planning from Lemon and the people involved in this.
Was he involved in recommending sites they should go to? Was he involved in organizing transportation? Was he involved in determining how they should protest? Those will be the questions that come up in court.
But it&#8217;s pretty clear that Lemon was involved in some capacity. I&#8217;m not going to prejudge this case legally, but for people to claim that the federal government has no case at all, that they&#8217;re just arresting him for being a journalist on the scene, is a stretch to me.
I&#8217;m not going to assume his guilt or innocence for the alleged crime. We&#8217;ll have to see the evidence of that.
But the attempt to treat this as a violation of the First Amendment, as an attempt to destroy journalistic capability and all the rest — that’s not accurate either.

President Donald Trump on Monday announced on social media that the Justice Department is investigating Minnesota Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
&#8220;The DOJ and Congress are looking at &#8216;Congresswoman&#8217; Illhan [sic] Omar, who left Somalia with NOTHING, and is now reportedly worth more than 44 Million Dollars,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115961647505369753">shared</a>. &#8220;Time will tell all. Thank you for your attention to this matter!&#8221;
Trump dropped the news first thing Monday morning as chaos continued in Minneapolis following a federal immigration agent fatally shooting an armed anti-ICE protester over the weekend. The president also said he is sending border czar Tom Homan to Minnesota.
The Truth Social post from Trump added that a major investigation into the &#8220;massive 20 Billion Dollar, Plus, Welfare Fraud that has taken place in Minnesota&#8221; has been launched, saying that it is &#8220;at least partially responsible for the violent organized protests going on in the streets.&#8221;
The DOJ did not immediately confirm the investigation to The Daily Wire.
In response, Omar <a href="https://x.com/IlhanMN/status/2015818278728257569?s=20">posted</a> on social media: &#8220;Sorry, Trump, your support is collapsing and you’re panicking. Right on cue, you’re deflecting from your failures with lies and conspiracy theories about me. Years of &#8216;investigations&#8217; have found nothing.&#8221;
She added: &#8220;Get your goons out of Minnesota.&#8221;
Omar, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment, has accused ICE of a &#8220;terror campaign&#8221; and said that an ICE agent &#8220;murdered&#8221; Renee Good, an anti-ICE activist who was shot and killed by a federal immigration agent after she drove her car toward him.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration is probing the California Community College Athletic Association over allegations that its transgender policy violates Title IX, The Daily Wire can first report.
The Title IX Special Investigations Team, a joint project of the Department of Education and the Department of Justice, has initiated an investigation into the association over its policy stating that “a trans[gender] female&#8230;or non-binary student-athlete who has completed at least one calendar year of testosterone suppression treatment&#8230;may compete on a women’s team.”
That policy caused at least three female athletes to be discriminated against on the basis of sex, according to a complaint submitted to the Office of Civil Rights, since a male athlete was allowed to participate on the women&#8217;s volleyball team and use the women&#8217;s locker rooms at one of the member colleges during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
“The fact that a Community College Athletic Association has a ‘Transgender Participation Policy’ is a stunning indictment of our culture,&#8221; said Kimberly Richey, the assistant secretary for civil rights. &#8220;Women’s sports are for women. Yet California’s Governor Gavin Newsom — despite admitting the truth on a podcast — continues to put ideology above the safety of and fairness for his own students.&#8221;

The complaint also alleges that the California Community College Athletic Association ignored female students&#8217; when they raised concerns about the impact that male students have on female sports.
DOJ and the Education Department say that the association has an obligation to uphold Title IX&#8217;s sex-based protections, given that it receives federal financial assistance in California.
&#8220;The Trump Administration will not tolerate policies that erase women’s rights,”says Richey. “The Title IX SIT looks forward to investigating this matter to ensure every woman has equal access to educational programs and athletic opportunities—because fairness and safety are non-negotiable.”
DOJ and the Education Department created the Title IX Special Investigations Team in April 2025 in order to expedite enforcement of its investigations into incidents like this. In fact, the team&#8217;s first investigation was actually into the California Department of Education.
Richey&#8217;s comments about Newsom referenced the California governor&#8217;s remarks on the issue of fairness in women&#8217;s sports: in March 2025, when Charlie Kirk was a guest on Newsom&#8217;s podcast, Newsom distanced from the notion that men should be in women&#8217;s sports — something he has championed for years — calling the concept &#8220;deeply unfair.&#8221;
“Would you say no to men in female sports?”Kirk asked the California governor.
“I think it’s an issue of fairness, I completely agree with you on that,” Newsom responded. “It is an issue of fairness — it’s deeply unfair.”
The remark caught many politicos and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle by surprise, given that Newsom has celebrated his state&#8217;s law allowing boys in girls&#8217; sports, and additionally celebrated when conservative groups failed to repeal that very law.
Earlier this week, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in two cases dealing with men in women&#8217;s sports and spaces, West Virginia v. BPJ and Little v. Hecox. The results of the cases will decided whether 27 states can keep laws in place protecting women’s privacy in bathrooms and other spaces.
&#8220;As we await the Supreme Court’s rulings in Little v. Hecox and State of West Virginia v. B.P.J., we remain steadfast in enforcing Title IX as it was intended, rooted in biological reality to ensure fairness, safety, and equal access to education programs for women and girls across our nation,&#8221; Secretary of Education Linda McMahon said on the steps of the court on Tuesday.
&#8220;As President Trump has made clear,&#8221; she added, &#8220;America is in its Golden Age, one where female students and athletes have equal access to fair and safe competitions and female-only intimate spaces, free from divisive and discriminatory ideologies.&#8221;

WASHINGTON—The Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division says there is no merit to an MS Now report alleging that top DOJ officials quit their jobs over an alleged division decision not to investigate the fatal ICE shooting of Renee Good.
The report from the outlet formerly known as MSNBC alleged that at least four officials from the Civil Rights Division resigned &#8220;in protest over the administration’s handling&#8221; of Good&#8217;s death, citing &#8220;three people briefed on the departures.&#8221;
MS Now reported that their frustration was specifically with Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon for her decision not to investigate the incident, writing that the departures &#8220;represent the most significant mass resignation at the Justice Department since February.&#8221;
There&#8217;s a problem with this reporting, however: according to Dhillon and her staff, there has not been a single resignation over the incident.
&#8220;This is fake news,&#8221; Dhillon told The Daily Wire of the story. &#8220;No division employee quit.&#8221;

Three people applied for early retirement the day before the shooting, which occurred on January 7 in Minneapolis, Dhillon said. Those three people gave notice weeks before the shooting took place, and the fourth person mentioned in the story put in for retirement in early December, over a month before the shooting took place.
Two of the other people that the MS Now story references have not resigned and are currently at their desks working, The Daily Wire has learned. While they have &#8220;apparently told the press they intend to resign,&#8221; Dhillon said, &#8220;our office has not received notice of any resignations.&#8221;
&#8220;The media&#8217;s never-ending attempts to drum up drama and strife within the DOJ are exhausting,&#8221; Dhillon said. &#8220;My team and I will not let it distract us from our mission of protecting the civil rights of ALL Americans. We thank those employees retiring for their years of service to the Department and our nation.&#8221;
The FBI is investigating the January 7 incident, the ICE agent&#8217;s actions, and the networks of activist groups funding anti-ICE protesting as well as Good&#8217;s possible connections to such networks in Minnesota, a law enforcement source confirmed to The Daily Wire.
As for a possible DOJ Civil Rights Division investigation, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche says &#8220;there is currently no basis for a criminal civil rights investigation.” A DOJ official told The Daily Wire that ICE&#8217;s Office of Professional Responsibility is conducting its own investigation.
“As with any officer-involved shooting, each law enforcement agency has an internal investigation protocol, including DHS,&#8221; the DOJ official shared. &#8220;As such, ICE OPR has its own investigation underway. This runs parallel to any FBI investigation.”
Video footage from that day shows Good hitting an ICE agent with her car, whereupon he exclaims as he fires at her, fatally shooting her in her car. President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration has vehemently argued that the act was one of domestic terrorism against the ICE agent, who was previously dragged by a car as he attempted to carry out his orders.
MS Now did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Wire.

In mid-September, the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-sues-oregon-and-maine-failure-provide-voter-registration-rolls">sued</a> the states of Oregon and Maine and their respective Secretaries of State for failing to provide information on voter list maintenance procedures and electronic copies of statewide voter registration lists. “States simply cannot pick and choose which federal laws they will comply with, including our voting laws, which ensure that all American citizens have equal access to the ballot in federal elections,” Dhillon said.

In late September, the Trump administration filed a lawsuit against six more states after the DOJ accused them of failing to comply with federal law by refusing to turn over voter registration records. The states included California, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, and Pennsylvania.
“A few months ago I started this process of requesting the voter rolls from all the states and territories in the United States and asked them to share them with us so that we can help these states compare voter rolls against our government data and clean their voter rolls as the requirement states under federal law the Help America Vote Act, amongst others,” Dhillon stated on The Charlie Kirk Show on Monday.
“So there’s a lot of hemming and hawing, including from red states, a lot of back-and-forth, and then some outright refusal to cooperate from many states; and so I am proud to report that today I’m in litigation with twenty-two states in the United States; that’s actually twenty-three lawsuits, since California has two lawsuits,” she continued. “I also have voluntary compliance from thirteen states, including Texas and several others. And even on Christmas Eve, I had secretaries of state uploading their data to the DOJ so that we could do our work on it and help them clean their voter rolls.”

The 30-year-old man accused of planting pipe bombs outside of the Democratic and Republican Party headquarters in Washington, D.C., on the night of January 5, 2021, told investigators that he wanted someone to &#8220;speak up&#8221; about the 2020 election being stolen, according to the Department of Justice.
Prosecutors said on Sunday that Brian Cole Jr. gave a &#8220;detailed confession&#8221; about planting the pipe bombs and revealed that he didn&#8217;t &#8220;like either party at this point,&#8221; according to a DOJ memo, The Hill <a href="https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/5665154-capitol-riot-pipe-bombs-suspect-confession-justice-department/">reported</a>. Cole allegedly said that he was not a political person, but after Joe Biden&#8217;s win over President Donald Trump in 2020, he began following the news more closely, especially on YouTube and Reddit. Cole said that he believed &#8220;something was wrong&#8221; with the 2020 election and people felt &#8220;that their votes are like just being thrown away,&#8221; and someone needed to &#8220;speak up,&#8221; prosecutors said.
Federal prosecutors argued that Cole should remain detained as the case proceeds. Cole allegedly told investigators that he had no intention of killing or injuring anyone with the pipe bombs, which is why he said he placed them at night. Cole said that he was &#8220;pretty relieved&#8221; when he learned that the bombs never went off after he set them to detonate one hour after he placed them, according to the DOJ. Prosecutors, however, argued that Cole&#8217;s alleged actions put people at risk regardless of whether he intended to harm anyone.
“Indeed, the defendant admitted that he set both devices to detonate 60 minutes after he placed them,” the DOJ memo stated. “His failure to accomplish his objectives does not mitigate the profoundly dangerous nature of his crimes.”

He allegedly confessed to investigators shortly after his arrest and expressed support for Trump, as was previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/d-c-pipe-bomb-suspect-reportedly-confesses-to-investigators">reported</a>. However, questions remain about whether Cole allegedly planted the bombs in response to Trump&#8217;s 2020 election loss, as the charging documents state that he purchased the materials for the bombs as early as May 2019, long before the controversy surrounding the 2020 election erupted. Cole has also expressed anarchist views, according to some reports.
The Daily Wire reported earlier this month that Cole was employed by a bail bonds company run by his father, which worked to free illegal immigrants from ICE facilities and sued the Trump administration’s Department of Homeland Security.
Cole, of Woodbridge, Virginia, was arrested earlier this month after investigators reviewed thousands of purchases, cell phone data, and license plates.

D.C. Pipe Bomb Suspect Shed Light On His Motive In Interviews With Investigators, DOJ Says

Federal authorities thwarted what the Department of Justice described as a “massive and horrific” terror plot involving a pro-Palestinian, far-left group planning a series of bombings in California beginning on New Year’s Eve.
Attorney General Pam Bondi said the FBI and the Department of Justice disrupted the scheme by four alleged members of the “Turtle Island Liberation Front,” which officials describe as anti-government and anti-capitalist.
Audrey Illeene Carroll, Zachary Aaron Page, Dante Gaffield, and Tina Lai were arrested around December 12 in Lucerne Valley, California, where investigators believe they were preparing to test explosive devices ahead of the planned attacks. Each has been charged with conspiracy and possession of a destructive device.
According to <a href="https://x.com/AGPamBondi/status/2000583375698919657">Bondi</a>, those arrested planned to attack targets in Orange County and Los Angeles, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and vehicles.
According to an affidavit obtained by The Daily Wire, Carroll gave an eight-page handwritten document titled &#8220;Operation Midnight Sun&#8221; that detailed the bombing plot to a law enforcement source. The plan included planting backpacks with pipe-bomb improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and simultaneously detonating them at five locations, including two American companies, at midnight on New Year&#8217;s Eve. The plans included information about how to manufacture the bombs and guidance to avoid leaving behind evidence.
The suspects took multiple steps to carry out their plot, including acquiring bomb-making materials and traveling to a remote location in the Mojave Desert to construct and detonate a test explosive on December 12. While there, they began assembling devices using materials such as precursors, PVC pipes, and fuses before being arrested, according to the affidavit.
“This was an incredible effort by our U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the @FBI to ensure Americans can live in peace,” Bondi said. “We will continue to pursue these terror groups and bring them to justice.”
“Turtle Island” is an indigenous term for North America adopted by radical leftists who reject the continent’s name as colonialist.
An Instagram account for the Turtle Island Liberation Front in Los Angeles, which authorities say is operated by Carroll, shows a woman named Mary, masked with a keffiyeh, explaining the ties between Palestine and Turtle Island.
“Palestine is the true name of Israel… It’s the same with Turtle Island. That was what the original tribes on the Americas — before it was called &#8216;America&#8217; — it was known as Turtle Island because believe it or not if you look at the map rather from the top down but the bottom up, if you flip that map of the Americas it looks like a turtle.”
Mary added that her group is looking for “reparations and land back to indigenous groups.”
Other posts on the account include anti-Israel and anti-government slogans like “resistance is the deepest form of love,” &#8220;capitalism prevents liberation,” “death to ICE,” and “death to America.”

WASHINGTON — The Department of Justice has opened an investigation into the “Seditious Six,” the Democrats who urged service members to disregard what they called illegal orders from the Trump administration, The Daily Wire has learned. The FBI is now scheduling interviews with the members of Congress involved.
Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-PA), Rep. Maggie Goodlander (D-NH), Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), and Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) appeared in a video urging service members and intelligence officers to &#8220;refuse illegal orders.&#8221;
Both the DOJ and the FBI confirmed to The Daily Wire that they are scheduling interviews with these lawmakers. After this story was published, the six lawmakers put out a joint statement accusing the president of &#8220;using the FBI as a tool to intimidate and harass Members of Congress.&#8221;
In their Nov. 18 video, the lawmakers said: &#8220;We want to speak directly to members of the military and the intelligence community who take risks each day to keep Americans safe.&#8221;

&#8220;This was a politically-motivated influence operation: It never named a specific &#8216;illegal order.&#8217; It created ambiguity rather than clarity,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It used carefully scripted, legal-sounding language. It subtly reframed military obedience around partisan distrust instead of established legal processes.&#8221;
&#8220;In the military, vague rhetoric and ambiguity undermines trust, creates hesitation in the chain of command, and erodes cohesion,&#8221; Hegseth warned. &#8220;The military already has clear procedures for handling unlawful orders. It does not need political actors injecting doubt into an already clear chain of command. As veterans of various sorts, the Seditious Six knew exactly what they were doing — sowing doubt through a politically-motivated influence operation. The [Department of War] won’t fall for it or stand for it.&#8221;
On Monday, the Department of War singled out Kelly, stating that it had &#8220;received serious allegations of misconduct against Captain Mark Kelly, USN (Ret.).&#8221; Kelly is still subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice because he is a retired Naval officer.
&#8220;In accordance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. § 688, and other applicable regulations, a thorough review of these allegations has been initiated to determine further actions, which may include recall to active duty for court-martial proceedings or administrative measures,&#8221; the War Department said. &#8220;This matter will be handled in compliance with military law, ensuring due process and impartiality.&#8221;
Meanwhile, Kelly and his fellow Democrats argue that the president and the War Department seek to intimidate them from encouraging troops to disobey &#8220;illegal&#8221; orders — though on Monday, Sen. Slotkin <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2025/11/23/elissa-slotkin-video-troops-disobey-donald-trump-cannot-name-one-illegal-order-martha-raddatz-abc/">admitted on ABC News</a> that she could not cite any illegal order issued by Trump.

WASHINGTON—After enduring months of attacks from Democrats, President Donald Trump&#8217;s White House is going on the offensive against Democrats who are mentioned or implicated in the Epstein files.
The president announced last week that he supports the release of any remaining files that the Department of Justice has on Jeffrey Epstein, the sex offender who died in a Manhattan jail cell from apparent suicide in August 2019. On Wednesday afternoon, Attorney General Pam Bondi said that her Justice Department will &#8220;follow the law,&#8221; which passed the Senate on Wednesday, and release the files within the next 30 days &#8220;while protecting victims.&#8221;
She also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bondi-says-new-info-warrants-more-epstein-investigations-as-doj-sets-sights-on-his-dem-pals">said last week</a> that the Justice Department was beginning a new investigation into the possible ties between high-profile Democrats and Epstein, after the president pushed her to do so in a Truth Social post. The Epstein Files Transparency Act is now headed to the president&#8217;s desk. It is not immediately clear when the president will sign it.
Critics, particularly prominent Democrats, had argued for months that the president was afraid to release the files because they contained something compromising. And while the recent release of documents from Epstein&#8217;s estate did mention Trump a number of times, the files actually incriminated people like Stacey Plaskett, the congressional delegate from the U.S. Virgin Islands, who was shown to have been texting Epstein during a hearing on the February 2019 testimony of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen. She said Wednesday that she <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/dem-lawmaker-justifies-text-exchange-epstein-says-information-from-people-where-can">was just seeking information</a>.
The White House, which has argued for weeks that Democrats were using Epstein and his victims to distract from the government, is now switching into attack mode and planning on going on offense. The president&#8217;s position on the Epstein files has not changed, a senior White House official told The Daily Wire, arguing that Trump has always wanted transparency and called for it over and over again on the campaign trail.

Their thinking, and their messaging, is this: Democrats need to answer for their longstanding ties to Epstein before the country can move on from this. The White House views Democrats as the ones who have shifted on Epstein — and, they say, Democrats only began to take an interest in the topic once they realized they could score political points. The White House views this as a big mistake, but one that can play out in their favor.
&#8220;Trump has nothing to hide,&#8221; a senior White House official told The Daily Wire, &#8220;but the Democrats clearly do.&#8221;
“House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party,&#8221; the president said on Sunday, and the White House is intent on pushing this message out.
Former President Joe Biden and his administration would have used anything they had against Trump long ago, people close to the administration maintain. The recently released emails not only don&#8217;t include anything that implicates the president, they also indicate that Epstein wanted to hurt or blackmail his former friend, and they show Epstein communicating with top Democrats.
&#8220;It&#8217;s so clear that all of his ties were to Democrats,&#8221; Donald Trump Jr. said of Epstein in a text message to The Daily Wire. &#8220;He funded them, he befriended them. Even after he was a convicted pedophile, famous journalists and businesspeople were visiting his home and dining with him willingly. He’s live texting a sitting congresswoman, as a convicted pedophile, during a testimony against Trump.&#8221;
&#8220;Everyone knows he was thrown out of Mar-a-Lago for being creepy 30 years ago,&#8221; the president&#8217;s son added. &#8220;No one knew just how creepy he was at the time, but he hated Trump because my father beat him in a real estate deal, and that’s where it ends. Does anyone honestly believe that if he had information he could use to take down Trump, that he wouldn’t have wielded that to gain favor with the Democrats and eliminate someone he hated for years? It’s literally implausible.&#8221;
Democrats made a big fuss about the files while holding up the government shutdown. They released a trove of Epstein documents as the shutdown was drawing to an end — selective leaks to liberal media, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, intended to &#8220;create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.&#8221;
Trump has consistently called the Democrat push to release the files a &#8220;hoax.&#8221; A White House official who spoke with The Daily Wire argued that he was never opposed to actually releasing the files, but instead opposed to Republicans falling into a Democrat trap of not focusing on issues Americans care about, such as the shutdown, the economy, affordability, and more.
Now the shutdown is over, and Democrats face a White House equipped with fresh information about their communications with the notorious sex offender himself.
“There are definitely major figures on the left who are going to regret trying to make a spectacle out of this for political gain,&#8221; shared a person familiar with the administration&#8217;s thinking on the files.
A few figures who may be unhappy with House Democrats as they find themselves under fire: Plaskett, former President Bill Clinton, ex-Harvard president Larry Summers, journalist Katie Couric, billionaire Democrat megadonor and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, and writer Michael Wolff, all of whom the White House mentioned in a recent messaging email decrying Democrat affiliation with Epstein.
&#8220;Why aren’t Democrats talking about the fact that Del. Stacey Plaskett (D-U.S. Virgin Islands) <a href="https://whitehouse.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=dace49741569f7585670378b3&amp;id=c3d4cae336&amp;e=711815754c" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://whitehouse.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u%3Ddace49741569f7585670378b3%26id%3Dc3d4cae336%26e%3D711815754c&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1763669553929000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2Nyq-LlEVcoLdrS_odI56_">solicited</a> (and was given) $30,000 from Epstein for the DCCC after he was already a convicted sex offender?&#8221; the White House messaging asks. &#8220;Or the fact that Plaskett herself <a href="https://whitehouse.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=dace49741569f7585670378b3&amp;id=17632ce913&amp;e=711815754c" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://whitehouse.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u%3Ddace49741569f7585670378b3%26id%3D17632ce913%26e%3D711815754c&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1763669553929000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2Hv7kL_KxeTXWPE2mTe1c8">accepted</a> maxed-out donations from Epstein for her own campaign? Or the <a href="https://whitehouse.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=dace49741569f7585670378b3&amp;id=880e4a09a0&amp;e=711815754c" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://whitehouse.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u%3Ddace49741569f7585670378b3%26id%3D880e4a09a0%26e%3D711815754c&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1763669553929000&amp;usg=AOvVaw05auXA_UT2Fws5logzT05D">fact</a> that Plaskett was literally texting Epstein during a committee hearing?&#8221;
Clinton&#8217;s 26 flights on Epstein&#8217;s &#8220;Lolita Express&#8221; are certainly up for scrutiny, as is the fact that one of Epstein&#8217;s victims says she saw Clinton on Epstein&#8217;s Little St. James island with two young women. While Clinton&#8217;s spokesman says that the former president never visited the island, his former deputy assistant Doug Band <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/12/confessions-of-a-clintonworld-exile?srsltid=AfmBOoq0w_a0o47tS-pOaysfswVwIAR6ep_1um2Ndu2FK2tJTtr80INP">says that Clinton did indeed</a> go in 2003.
The White House messaging points out that Summers, who also served as Clinton&#8217;s Treasury Secretary, had a &#8220;long relationship&#8221; with Epstein, <a href="https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2025/11/17/summers-epstein-wing-man-woman-described-as-mentee/">even acting</a> as Summers&#8217;s &#8220;wingman.&#8221; It also notes that Couric <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10037351/Katie-Courics-new-book-sparks-outrage-rips-ex-boyfriends-former-NBC-CBS-colleagues.html">attended a 2010 dinner</a> at Epstein&#8217;s home, two years after he had been convicted as a sex offender.
The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/tech/jeffrey-epstein-documents-woody-allen-larry-summers-edb3e9b2?mod=us_more_pos1">reported in May</a> that Reid Hoffman not only visited Epstein&#8217;s &#8220;Little St. James&#8221; but was scheduled to stay at Epstein&#8217;s townhouse in Manhattan in 2014. The Democratic National Committee never returned Epstein&#8217;s $32,000 in donations.
And Wolff, an anti-Trump magazine writer who wrote a biography of Epstein, urged Epstein to blackmail the president, writing: &#8220;You can hang him in a way that potentially generates a positive benefit for you, or, if it really looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt. Of course, it is possible that, when asked, he&#8217;ll say Jeffrey is a great guy and has gotten a raw deal and is a victim of political correctness, which is to be outlawed in a Trump regime.&#8221;

WASHINGTON—Alexis Wilkins is a conservative country music artist whose boyfriend, Kash Patel, is the head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. When the two began dating three years ago, they became a kind of conservative celebrity couple. But Wilkins never imagined that she would soon star in the internet&#8217;s pet conspiracy theory — one that would drown her and her family in a deluge of threats.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve been in the political sphere for a second,&#8221; she explained in a phone interview with The Daily Wire. &#8220;You get crazy things from the left, you&#8217;re kind of used to it if you&#8217;re speaking up about things that you believe in or talking positively about America. I kind of thought that [direction] would be where this would continue, just maybe more dramatic, but what&#8217;s happened is&#8230;the internet has just become a place where you can just say whatever you want and affect people&#8217;s lives, and it really reverberates.
Internet users and commentators have accused 27-year-old Wilkins of being an Israeli spy, a &#8220;honeypot&#8221; Mossad agent, assigned to manipulate her 45-year-old boyfriend as he leads the FBI. Wilkins, who is Christian, has repeatedly denied the claims, which she calls absurd.
&#8220;There&#8217;s security issues, there&#8217;s safety issues, the death threats are graphic, and, there are a lot of them,&#8221; she added. &#8220;You have to think about your house getting swatted, you deal with stuff where people are trying to harm you. That is the intent, and that&#8217;s been very real, very quickly for me in the last couple of months.&#8221; 
Their relationship, ages, and personal lives have been scrutinized publicly, as has Patel&#8217;s use of the FBI director&#8217;s plane for personal trips to see Wilkins (as FBI director, Patel cannot fly commercial and must use the plane for legitimate and needed purposes, but his <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/kash-patel-jet-tracker-fbi-director-alexis-wilkins-10980941">recent trip to Nashville</a> drew heavy criticism).
A source close to the couple told The Daily Wire that Patel &#8220;knew Alexis was the one as soon as he met her,&#8221; and that she recently moved in with him in Washington, D.C., but spends time in Nashville with her family. They will likely be engaged and married soon, that source shared.
In the meantime, the country music artist is grappling with the consequences of viral internet rumors.
An FBI spokesperson confirmed to The Daily Wire that Wilkins has received &#8220;hundreds of credible threats.&#8221; Wilkins now has a security detail, that spokesperson confirmed, based on security assessments of credible threats conducted due to her connection with Patel.
One concern, based on some of the threats, is that Wilkins might be kidnapped.
&#8220;She&#8217;s not getting threatened to be kidnapped by cartels because they think she&#8217;s cute,&#8221; a source close to Wilkins shared. &#8220;It&#8217;s because she&#8217;s a good hostage candidate.&#8221;

Wilkins receives threatening messages almost daily on social media. The Daily Wire reviewed a number of these messages and posts, showing individuals fantasizing about killing her, graphically describing acts of sexual violence, promising to kill her within specific time frames, posting her address, phone number, and those of Patel and her parents online, and more.
&#8220;I don&#8217;t feel very comfortable going in public,&#8221; she shared, asked how this affects her daily life. &#8220;I don&#8217;t leave my house a lot.&#8221;
Less explicit but still threatening rhetoric is also publicly visible on Wilkins&#8217; social media posts as well. For example, one commenter posted on an Instagram post of Wilkins and Patel at his swearing in: &#8220;I hope these two don&#8217;t plan on going out in public. Or having a public speaking event in an amphitheater.&#8221;
&#8220;People know what to say,&#8221; she said, discussing the messages she shared with The Daily Wire. &#8220;These are not just hyperbolic threats, these are credible threats that [mention] things about you going in public together, things about you doing a public speaking engagement, things about you doing a concert outside&#8230;They want you to stop living your life. They want you to be afraid.&#8221;
About two weeks ago, Wilkins shared, her parents&#8217; home was swatted. This means that someone called in a false emergency at their home with the goal of prompting a massive law enforcement response. Swatting is particularly dangerous since victims may find themselves in violent or dangerous situations, depending how they respond to the law enforcement presence, since a SWAT team <a href="https://www.thefederalcriminalattorneys.com/swatting-crime">might be responding to what has been described</a> to them as an imminent threat, a bomb situation, or domestic violence.
Wilkins and her family now have to talk through security protocols that have never occurred to them, planning out how to respond when, for example, someone calls the house demanding to know if Wilkins herself is present — a sign that a swatting may be imminent.
&#8220;Swatting doesn&#8217;t only affect your house, you have to realize that people are also looking for your family, especially when it&#8217;s an allegation that is so untrue&#8230;you&#8217;re getting called a spy, so people are digging into your history, people are trying to find your parents, people are calling people that you&#8217;ve known,&#8221; Wilkins said. &#8220;Colleagues of mine have received calls asking for information about my family, some of them unaware of how to respond and will give a name or give my mom&#8217;s maiden name or give things that are helpful in order to find us.&#8221;
&#8220;So it hasn&#8217;t just been me,&#8221; she said. &#8220;It&#8217;s been my family as well.&#8221;

Wilkins has continued to attend speaking or singing engagements with organizations like Turning Point USA and the Young America&#8217;s Foundation. She is suing a number of political influencers and commentators for suggesting she is an agent of Israeli intelligence. And she says she is determined not to cower but to stand up for herself, arguing that &#8220;bullies respond to strength.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m so happy to support the person that I love, but I&#8217;m not the director of the FBI,&#8221; Wilkins said. &#8220;I&#8217;m here to support, and my parents are also&#8230;but ultimately, this is not something that they signed up for, and I think people forget that when they&#8217;re digging for what they think is the truth, they&#8217;re doing it in a way that is not helpful, and it&#8217;s very dangerous.&#8221;
Reflecting on the death of Charlie Kirk, who she knew through her work with TPUSA — at whose events she often sings the national anthem — Wilkins pointed out how massively important Kirk&#8217;s faith was to him, and how he talked about how he wanted to be remembered for his faith.
She is very proud of her own Christian faith. Yet now, she is &#8220;being called something that I&#8217;m not, a spy for another country, essentially accusing me of treason, which is horrific enough, but I&#8217;m a Christian.&#8221;
&#8220;I grew up Armenian. My family&#8217;s Armenian,&#8221; she explained. &#8220;I grew up Christian and I&#8217;m very proud of that.&#8221;
&#8220;His legacy of his faith and the things that he represented, I think that it obviously is a huge void that we all feel now, because of who he was personally and who he was in the movement,&#8221; she reflected, sharing how the day after Kirk&#8217;s assassination, she had to come to terms with the fact that Patel would be speaking at an outdoor event, and she could do nothing but wait to hear that he was ok.
&#8220;It&#8217;s that horrible feeling,&#8221; she said. &#8220;How radicalized do people become? Is this a chain of events? There&#8217;s no way to make yourself feel better about it.&#8221;
She has considered ignoring much of the criticism and threats. But, she says, she wants to be a &#8220;role model for people who are being attacked, for even just their views, no matter what side they are on.&#8221;
&#8220;I think that everyone should have the right to say what they want to say,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I love the Constitution. I love the First Amendment in this country.&#8221;
And asked what she would tell the internet folk who are posting about her, she responded: &#8220;If it feels fun behind your keyboard to hate someone, your heart is probably in the wrong place and you also probably have some details wrong.&#8221;
&#8220;Before you run with what sounds like the most fun, horrifying and cliquey conspiracy theory, there&#8217;s probably a more common sense result, a more common sense answer.&#8221;
