A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/disney-world">Walt Disney World Resort</a> guest was reportedly disappointed with &#8220;Story Book Dining&#8221; at Wilderness Lodge in Orlando, Florida. Upon encountering a character portraying the Evil Queen from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” He believes the employee was a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lgbtq">biological male</a>. 
The unnamed Disney guest reached out to the fan blog <a href="https://thatparkplace.com/exclusive-walt-disney-world-cast-members-express-support-but-concern-over-the-evil-queen-situation/">That Park Place</a> to voice his concerns, discussing how he and his family had been looking forward to meeting the Evil Queen during their visit. 
He said his kids posed for photos with the Evil Queen who “without a doubt had a man’s voice.”
“I told my waiter that I had a problem with something. He then asked what was the issue and I simply stated I have a problem with Evil Queen being a man dressed in drag. The waiter immediately said he was going to get a manager and he looked panicked,” the guest reportedly told the blog.
“At first I said I wanted to formally complain about the Evil Queen being a man and that I felt very disrespected by Disney because this is not the sort of thing my family values and they didn’t give us any type of notice that this sort of thing was even a possibility,” he continued. 
“I stated we are a conservative Christian family, I’m spending $8,000 on this current trip in addition to the tens of thousands I’ve spent together in the past at Walt Disney World and Disney Cruises, and that this is not right,” the guest continued.

“For the most part the manager just listened and never once apologized for anything. At one point the manager stated ‘I can assure you that she is a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/transgender">woman</a>.’ She went even further, trying to shame me, informing me that ‘she’ was so excited to get the part as the Evil Queen. For a brief moment I thought ‘oh… maybe I’m wrong’ but then I realized that I was just being gaslighted,&#8221; he said.
&#8220;I politely told the manager that ‘I know what you are doing and that I do not appreciate the fact that you are trying to be funny and disingenuous.’ So since the manager doubled down I also doubled down and asked, ‘Is the Evil Queen a biological male?’ The manager’s reply was, ‘I’m sorry sir, I cannot answer that.’”
A <a href="https://twitter.com/wdwpro1/status/1782611140503056676">clip</a> of an employee portraying the Evil Queen was posted on X and has 5.5 million views. It was an excerpt of a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeG5JU_UpyU">YouTube video</a> posted in January from an account reviewing a Story Book Dining experience at Artist Point located inside Disney&#8217;s Wilderness Lodge in Orlando.
The person behind That Park Place reportedly spoke with several anonymous cast members who work with the individual in question. 
“The only thing I personally feel safe saying as a statement is that Inclusion is a Key for a reason,” the anonymous source said, citing one of Disney World’s new policies. “It’s the newest Key the company has introduced. Inclusion means Everyone Belongs. Guests and Cast Members alike. No matter who you are, no matter how you identify, if you’re cisgendered, trans or non-binary, you can be a performer. Especially a look-alike one.”

Disneyland made headlines last year when photos and videos showed male cast members in dresses greeting guests at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/disturbing-man-in-a-dress-welcoming-children-to-disneyland-princess-boutique-sparks-outrage-on-twitter">reported</a>. 
These changes have been seen ever since Disney parks updated its uniform policy in 2021 to allow employees, or as they’re referred to in the park, “cast members,” to wear gendered clothing of their preference regardless of their biological sex.
Reps from Walt Disney World did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Sources claim that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/disney-world">Disney World</a> is offering <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/gender-pronouns">pronoun pins</a> to their employees. 
Multiple employees at the theme park spoke anonymously with <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2023/11/13/walt-disney-world-epcot-pronoun-pin-name-tags/">The Daily Caller</a> about a new DEI initiative that will begin with janitors who work in the Florida theme park and then roll out to other Disney employees. Photos shared by the sources showed that theme park and EPCOT employees can fill out a form with their preferred pronouns to have them added to their name pin by scanning a QR code.
“Hi everyone, we are excited to introduce pronoun name tags in our area!” the <a href="https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=qDG3VqyiMky_a2FoEOkTxo8ZQhqfGXNIiFn9s_4cvspUNVVVTVgyMTVPOVpCQ0kxUVhRQTJDOUtDTSQlQCN0PWcu&amp;origin=QRCode">form</a> says. “Pronoun name tags help us understand each other more and bring a positive impact within our community!”
The outlet noted that pronoun pins are still being used voluntarily, per their sources.
This was not the first <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/woke">gender identity-related initiative</a> introduced into Disney theme parks. In May, a video of a male employee in a dress welcoming small children into the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland in California went viral, with many people expressing their outrage online.

“This is insane,” one Twitter user wrote, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/disturbing-man-in-a-dress-welcoming-children-to-disneyland-princess-boutique-sparks-outrage-on-twitter">reported</a>.
“Absolutely grooming. That is a moment for little girls. Mustache has no business there,” another account agreed. 
“Disney is just an LGBT activist organization at this point,” a third commenter wrote. “Any sane company would have backed down by now. Disney keeps doubling down because it would rather engage in political activism than return value.”
Another viewer called the footage “disturbing and sick.”
In August, more images of different male Disney employees wearing dresses were shared by Libs of TikTok. “Disney has men dressed as women, wearing dresses greeting children at some of their attractions,” LOTT wrote in the X <a href="https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1695164391694487592">caption</a>. “Received both of these this week from disturbed visitors.”
Disney Parks updated its uniform policy in 2021 to allow employees, or as they’re referred to in the park, “cast members,” to wear gendered clothing of their preference regardless of their biological sex.

Florida Governor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ron-desantis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ron DeSantis</a>&#8216; handpicked board on the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD) announced this week that it has ended all diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.
District Administrator Glenton Gilzean announced the abolition of the programs that were adopted by the former Reedy Creek Improvement District that &#8220;discriminated against Americans based on gender and race, costing taxpayers millions of dollars,&#8221; according to the CFTOD.
The district&#8217;s DEI committee &#8220;will be dissolved and any DEI job duties will be eliminated,&#8221; the statement said, adding that staff &#8220;will also no longer be permitted to use any staff time to pursue DEI initiatives.&#8221;
Gilzean said in a statement that the old district&#8217;s DEI initiatives &#8220;were illegal and simply un-American.&#8221;
“Our district will no longer participate in any attempt to divide us by race or advance the notion that we are not created equal,&#8221; he added. &#8220;As the former head of the Central Florida Urban League, a civil rights organization, I can say definitively that our community thrives only when we work together despite our differences.&#8221;
The statement said that the DEI initiatives had also cost the former Reedy Creek Improvement District &#8220;millions of dollars more in order to find businesses who could comply.&#8221;
The news is a political win for DeSantis, who is currently running for president and stands in second place in the Republican primary field behind former President Donald Trump.
No other candidates poll anywhere near double digits, according to The New York Times/Siena poll, which is rated by FiveThirtyEight as the <a href="https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/pollster-ratings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/pollster-ratings/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1691080818444000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0fQaORxrTt51EoCGoMszCa">top poll</a> in the nation. The poll shows a dramatic drop off after DeSantis with the next closest candidates barely registering with voters as former Vice President Mike Pence, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley all sit at 3%. The remaining candidates all sit at 2% or less.

While Trump appears to be dominant at the moment with just over half of the vote in The New York Times/Siena poll, the poll <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/07/31/us/elections/times-siena-poll-republican-primary-toplines.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">showed</a> that nearly half of the respondents who chose Trump in the poll — 46% — say that they are “considering other candidates.”

Insiders reportedly told the outlet that the request was a &#8220;non-starter&#8221; and would have caused a &#8220;commotion.&#8221;

The Daily Mail noted that both the White House and Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the story. The outlet also wrote that a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess did not respond to a request for comment either.
The Daily Wire reached out to the White House and has yet to receive a response.
The news comes after the Sussexes experienced a string of bad luck. A representative for WME, a talent agency that recently hired Markle, said: &#8220;Meghan is continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform.&#8221;
Earlier this year, the royals made news following their alleged &#8220;near catastrophic car chase&#8221; in New York City with &#8220;aggressive&#8221; paparazzi, that had many <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/whoopi-goldberg-casts-doubt-on-prince-harry-and-meghan-markles-car-chase-story" target="_blank" rel="noopener">skeptical</a> of their narrative.
A spokesperson for the royals originally said, &#8220;Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. [Doria] Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi.&#8221;
Shortly after, the NYPD, who assisted the private security team protecting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, released a statement to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nypd-responds-to-reports-of-prince-harry-and-meghan-markles-near-catastrophic-car-chase-in-nyc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> that read, &#8220;There were numerous photographers that made their transport challenging. The number of universally beloved stars shrinks every year.
Betty White? RIP. Dolly Parton? Good luck finding a Dolly critic. Mel Brooks? He’s 96 and still going strong, but no one lives forever.
It’s even worse for entertainment brands. Most are viewed either with disdain or disinterest. Paramount? Eh, I like that mountain logo. Netflix? Didn’t they run a film sexualizing children (“Cuties”)?
Disney is different. Or – was – to be more accurate.
Walt Disney’s fun factory had America’s heart in its back pocket. Generations grew up on Disney fare, from beloved films like “Pinocchio” (1940) and “The Lady and the Tramp” (1955), to newer sensations like “The Little Mermaid” (1989) and “The Lion King” (1994).
Disney’s cultural reach spanned films and TV shows to major theme parks on both sides of the country. Families scraped up their savings to see wannabe actors dress up as Goofy, Minnie Mouse, and the gang. They endured exorbitant prices, long lines, and scorching heat to experience that Disney magic firsthand, hoping to forge lifelong memories along the way.
The Wonderful World of Disney? It was more than a tagline. It meant something special to Americans, and that stayed true even as the mega studio lost its mojo in the 1980s, courtesy of flops like “The Black Hole” (1979), “The Great Mouse Detective” (1986), and “The Black Cauldron” (1985).
The songs. The movies. The theme parks. The iconic characters we wore on T-shirts, backpacks, and winter jackets. Disney enjoyed the kind of bulletproof brand that other corporations would kill to emulate. The Mouse House nurtured it for decades, long after Walt Disney left this mortal coil in 1966.
Even more vital? 
Disney represented a safe harbor from an increasingly coarse culture. Sick of R-rated movies, sexually explicit TV shows, and raunchy humor? Disney had your back.
Then Disney Nation went woke.
How? It abandoned its prime directive — delivering family-friendly fare to a receptive nation — in favor of cultural messaging.
What happened next? The company began hemorrhaging <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ben-shapiro-explains-the-real-story-behind-latest-desantis-disney-battle" target="_blank" rel="noopener">money</a>, <a href="https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/disney-plus-subscribers-q2-earnings-1235607524/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">subscribers</a>, and acolytes. And there’s little evidence its economic fortunes will rebound or long-time fans will rush back into its corporate arms. 
Disney films now push diversity across the board. Recent flops like “Lightyear” (2022) and “Strange World” (2022) cared more about progressive nods than entertaining moviegoers.
And the paltry box office results spoke for themselves.
Behind the scenes, Disney workers faced indoctrination seminars on DEI and other culturally toxic ideologies. A 2021 report revealed that the company’s <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/news/disney-employee-training-claims-u-s-was-founded-on-systemic-racism-includes-white-privilege-checklist-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“diversity and inclusion” seminars</a> have employees fill out “white privilege” checklists.
A Disney creator boasted about her “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/not-at-all-secret-gay-agenda-disney-employees-break-down-adding-queerness-to-shows-and-degenderizing-theme-parks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">not-at-all-secret gay agenda</a>” and how receptive the brass was to her maneuvering.
Radical racial theories now pop up in shows like “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,” seen on Disney+. An episode tied to the newly announced Juneteenth holiday finds the kiddie show <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/disney-cartoon-demands-reparations-and-more-with-slaves-built-this-country-song" target="_blank" rel="noopener">demanding reparations</a> in an extended lecture-style sequence.
The new, not-so-improved company seems embarrassed by its own past, a sentiment that isn’t shared by generations of Americans. The studio’s live-action “Little Mermaid” remake erased “problematic” lyrics from the 1989 source material, for example.
Disney+ put warning labels on classic films like “Peter Pan” and “Dumbo” while pushing radical gender theories in its newly made content. Would Walt ever dream of animating a trans character <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/leaked-video-from-new-disney-show-features-trans-flag-and-robot-that-needs-help-with-feminine-hygiene" target="_blank" rel="noopener">buying sanitary napkins</a> in a Disney production?
The film’s big-budget adventures, like “Jungle Cruise,” awkwardly insert gay themes into their stories even if they play out as anachronistic to the story in play.
Next up? A Disney+ original dubbed “Pauline” about a pregnant teen’s affection for the baby daddy — <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/04/disney-greenlights-german-original-about-pregnant-teen-who-falls-in-love-with-the-devil-how-to-sell-drugs-online-fast-netflix-1235318430/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AKA the Devil.</a>
It’s a far cry from “Old Yeller,” no?
Disney’s public war on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has made everything worse. The GOP presidential hopeful locked horns with Disney on multiple fronts, including the erroneously named “Don’t Say Gay” bill in the Sunshine State.
Why an entertainment company would need to choose sides on a political matter defies belief, but Team Disney did just that. And that fight will rage on for the foreseeable future.
If DeSantis emerges as the GOP’s political candidate for the White House, those battles will chase even more Republicans away from Disney fare. And that could be permanent.
Even Disney park attendees endure the company’s progressive, aggressive makeover. A concerned mom went viral for sharing a video of a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/disturbing-man-in-a-dress-welcoming-children-to-disneyland-princess-boutique-sparks-outrage-on-twitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mustachioed Disney employee greeting children</a>, in women’s clothing, at a Disneyland boutique.
The beauty of the Disney brand mattered even more in the 21st century. American culture is divided into many smaller niche audiences, served up by the web, social media, and a broad pop culture landscape.
Disney didn’t carve up the culture into smaller, digestible markets. 
It reached out to everyone – liberals and conservatives, Heartland denizens, and the coastal dwellers. It wasn’t right, left, or center. It was Disney. And that spoke volumes. It gobbled up populist franchises like “Star Wars” and the “Marvel Cinematic Universe,” properties that entertained large swathes of America.
We needed Disney in our increasingly tribal times. Then Disney made those mega-franchises go woke, too, and the box office numbers fell.
Today, evoking the Disney brand means rolling up your sleeves and choosing sides in the culture wars for many Americans. That’s the opposite of what Disney has meant for many, many years.
That image, that brand is gone, and it’s not coming back in this generation. And Disney has only itself to blame.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/disney-world" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Disney World</a> announced it is shutting down an immersive <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/star-wars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Star Wars</a> luxury hotel that opened in March 2022.
&#8220;We are so proud of all of the Cast Members and Imagineers who brought Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to life and look forward to delivering an excellent experience for Guests during the remaining voyages over the coming months,&#8221; Disney said in a statement, per <a href="https://www.npr.org/2023/05/19/1177025618/disney-world-star-wars-hotel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NPR</a> on Friday. &#8220;Thank you to our Guests and fans for making this experience so special.&#8221;
The hotel is taking its last bookings September 28 to 30. New bookings are being paused until May 26 so guests who booked reservations after September can reschedule.
Billed as being the ultimate experience for Star Wars fans, the hotel featured a launch pod to board the Halcyon starcruiser upon arrival. Guests could stay in a room with a space view and interact with the Star Wars characters throughout the ship, aligning themselves with either the dark side or the light side.
One point of contention for visitors has been the hefty price tag. Per NPR, a two-night package started at about $4,800 for two people, and went up to $5,999 for three adults and one child. These prices included lodging, meals, and admission to Hollywood Studios, but did not include alcohol or specialty drinks.
Many social media users reacted to the news by saying they were interested in trying it out but it cost too much.

Disney reportedly spent $2 billion to build its two immersive Star Wars parks in Florida and California, but it’s not clear how much, if any, of those funds were spent on the hotel experience specifically.

White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/second-american-dead-sudan-white-house-national-security-council-spox-john-kirby-confirms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">confirmed</a> this morning the death of a second American citizen in Sudan. In a statement to the press, Kirby said, &#8220;Although there are some reports of violence and sporadic shelling and firing, we’re glad to see that the levels of violence generally appear to have gone significantly down.&#8221;
&#8220;We urge both military factions to fully uphold the ceasefire and to further extend it,&#8221; he added.
The ceasefire has been in place since midnight on April 24.
Xi And Zelensky Phone Call
Xi Jinping, the <a href="https://www.politico.eu/article/china-xi-jinping-volodymyr-zelenskyy-ukraine-finally-called-zelenskyy-first-since-russia-waged-war/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">leader of the Chinese Communist Party</a>, reportedly called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday to discuss the war and other international matters. The Biden administration will now deploy U.S. nuclear-armed submarines off the coast of South Korea — the first time in 40 years such submarines will be stationed there.

House Republicans are confident that they can pass Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s debt ceiling compromise bill on Wednesday, though eight GOP holdouts vow that they will not support the measure unless it is revamped to remove cuts to ethanol tax credits, <a href="https://www.axios.com/2023/04/19/mccarthy-debt-ceiling-bill-house-republicans" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to Axios. Just five GOP &#8220;no&#8221; votes could tank the bill. McCarthy, for his part, says that the bill is just intended to open negotiations.

Disney Sues DeSantis
Walt Disney World <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/desantis-central-florida-tourism-oversight-board-nullifies-disneys-11th-hour-deal-disney-files-lawsuit" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> a lawsuit today against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, claiming that he has waged a “relentless campaign to weaponize government power” against the company. 
 The federal lawsuit alleges that DeSantis led a campaign to punish Disney over its political views and that it was “orchestrated at every step” by the governor, ultimately threatening their business profit. 
The governor’s office responded in a statement, saying the lawsuit is another attempt to undermine Florida voters. The <a href="https://twitter.com/LeoFeldmanNEWS/status/1651269770090618881?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> went on to say they are “unaware of any legal rights that a company has to operate its own government or maintain special privileges not held by other businesses in the state.”
Illinois Judge Rules Chicago Must Rehire And Pay Back Anti-Vax Employees
An Illinois judge ruled that the city of Chicago <a href="https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/city-of-chicago-employees-fired-for-refusing-covid-vaccine-must-be-reinstated-judge-rules/3124419/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">must</a> rehire and pay back lost wages of unionized city employees who were fired or disciplined for violating COVID vaccination requirements. As fans get ready for the iconic Disneyland ride Splash Mountain to close at the end of May, the company revealed details for the new ride that will take its place.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be coming to both <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/disney-world" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Walt Disney World Resort</a> in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California. The new attractions will take inspiration from the animated <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/disney" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Disney</a> movie &#8220;The Princess and the Frog” (2009).
&#8220;The magic of the bayou is calling, so listen closely because we’re ‘digging a little deeper’ into the experience guests can expect from the future attraction coming to Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure,” a recent Disney <a href="https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2023/04/mama-odie-to-appear-in-tianas-bayou-adventure-plus-more-updates/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blog post</a> says. 
“The enchantment of the bayou will illuminate with a celebration during Mardi Gras season hosted by Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen. And today, I’m thrilled to announce that Mama Odie will reprise her role as the catalyst to that magic,&#8221; wrote Carmen Smith, the senior vice president of creative development. 
Splash Mountain is being shut down following criticism that it included “stereotypical <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/racism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">racist</a> tropes.” Florida’s version of the popular attraction <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fans-bid-farewell-to-disney-worlds-splash-mountain-as-it-closed-after-30-years-due-to-racism-assertions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closed in January</a> after 30 years in operation.
The ride was modeled after Brer Rabbit&#8217;s adventures in the 1946 &#8220;Song of the South&#8221; Disney film, which has since come under scrutiny for not being an accurate representation of life on a plantation.
“Song of the South” is set in Reconstruction-era America during a time when slavery had been abolished following the Civil War. The character Uncle Remus is not a slave but is sharing stories with a 7-year-old boy named Johnny, who is visiting his grandmother’s plantation.
&#8220;I’ve felt, as long as I’ve been CEO, that &#8216;Song of the South&#8217; was – even with a disclaimer – was just not appropriate in today’s world,&#8221; Disney CEO Bob Iger said during a March 2020 shareholders meeting. Former executive secretary of the NAACP, Walter White, said the movie “helps to perpetuate a dangerously glorified picture of slavery.”

“Tiana is a modern, courageous, and empowered woman, who pursues her dreams and never loses sight of what’s really important,” a 2020 <a href="https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2020/06/new-adventures-with-princess-tiana-coming-to-disneyland-park-and-magic-kingdom-park/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blog post</a> from Disney explained of their decision to replace Splash Mountain. 
“And with this longstanding history of updating attractions and adding new magic, the retheming of Splash Mountain is of particular importance today. The new concept is inclusive — one that all of our guests can connect with and be inspired by, and it speaks to the diversity of the millions of people who visit our parks each year.”
The new attraction is scheduled to open in 2024.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis&#8217; new handpicked five-person board that oversees the governance of Walt Disney World discovered this week in one of its first meetings that the old board quietly signed an agreement that transferred its power to Disney.
The old board <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/ron-desantis-disney-board-reedy-creek-1791369">signed</a> the agreement to transfer its power to the company on February 8 and the agreement was <a href="https://twitter.com/DeForestNews6/status/1641226950684409857">recorded</a> with the Orange County Comptroller on February 9 — the<a href="https://www.clickorlando.com/news/politics/2023/02/09/florida-house-takes-up-bill-to-rename-remake-disneys-reedy-creek/"> same day</a> that the Florida House passed legislation that renamed the Reedy Creek Improvement District to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District and removed Disney&#8217;s self-appointed board and replaced it with a board appointed by the governor.

News 6 WKMG <a href="https://www.clickorlando.com/news/local/2023/03/29/disney-made-last-minute-deal-with-former-reedy-creek-board-giving-company-wide-powers-new-board-says/">reported</a> that the discovery was made by attorneys that were hired by the new board. The special counsel also discovered that the old board used a common law property rule known as the “rule against perpetuities” to extend how long Disney has control of the powers.
The rule &#8220;states that no interest in land is good unless it must vest, if at all, not later than twenty-one years after some life in being at the creation of the interest,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/rule_against_perpetuities">Cornell Law School</a>.
Disney then invoked a “Royal lives clause” which tried to extend the length of the contract for as long as possible by tying it to the lineage of the Royal family.
The document signed by the old board and Disney said, “[T]his Declaration shall continue in effect until twenty one (21) years after the death of the last survivor of the descendants of King Charles III, King of England living as of the date of this Declaration.”
&#8220;I cannot tell you the level of my disappointment in Disney. I thought so much better of them,&#8221; said board member Ron Peri. &#8220;This essentially makes Disney the government. This board loses, for practical purposes, the majority of its ability to do anything beyond maintain the roads and maintain basic infrastructure.&#8221;
“I mean, I don’t know what else to say,&#8221; Peri added. &#8220;I think these documents are void ab initio, I think they were an extremely aggressive overreach, and I’m very disappointed that they’re here.”

The new board has retained legal counsel as they prepare to fight Disney in court over the matter.
&#8220;On the day that the legislation was passed by the Florida House, the former board and Disney entered into a development agreement and deed restrictions that essentially stripped most of the governing authority of the district and also made certain promises and concessions to Disney for many, many years out into the future,” said board member Brian Aungst, Jr. “They have tried to take that away from this board, the ability to provide that oversight, and we’re not gonna let that stand.&#8221;
Disney claimed in a statement that their actions were in full compliance with Florida law.
&#8220;The Executive Office of the Governor is aware of Disney’s last-ditch efforts to execute contracts just before ratifying the new law that transfers rights and authorities from the former Reedy Creek Improvement District to Disney,&#8221; DeSantis&#8217; office said in a statement. &#8220;An initial review suggests these agreements may have significant legal infirmities that would render the contracts void as a matter of law. We are pleased the new Governor-appointed board retained multiple financial and legal firms to conduct audits and investigate Disney’s past behavior.&#8221;

Biden&#8217;s Approval Near Record Low

Disney CEO Bob Iger admitted Thursday that the company has charged consumers exorbitant prices at the entertainment giant&#8217;s theme parks.
Iger, speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference, said the Disney brand must be &#8220;accessible,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11842523/Disney-CEO-Bob-Iger-admits-firms-theme-parks-rip-thanks-aggressive-pricing.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Mail</a>. The CEO, who came out of retirement last November to retake the company&#8217;s reins, indicated lower prices were necessary to expanding the company&#8217;s consumer base.
&#8220;In our zeal to grow profits, we may have been a little bit too aggressive about some of our pricing,” Iger said. “I think there’s a way to continue to grow that business, but be smarter about how we price so that we maintain that brand value of accessibility.”
Iger suggested that the high prices had helped make the theme park experience more enjoyable for those who could afford them.
“One of the things that we had to do was we had to improve the guest experience by reducing crowding,” Iger <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2023-03-09/bob-iger-says-disney-price-hikes-too-high" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a>. “It’s tempting to let more and more people in, but if the guest satisfaction levels are going down because of crowding then that doesn’t work. We have to figure out how we reduce crowding but maintain our profitability. And we did that well.”
Disney has recently moved to lower some prices at the theme parks, <a href="https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/parking/">reinstating</a> overnight free parking at Disney World and offering more days at Anaheim’s Disneyland in Anaheim when adults can buy tickets at the lowest price option.

Preferred parking at the theme park <a href="https://www.sfgate.com/disneyland/article/cost-disneyland-17801824.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">costs</a> $50 per vehicle, self-parking $30 per vehicle. Disney Genie Plus, which permits booking specific time windows for certain rides, costs an additional $25.
At Disney World, Disney opened a Star Wars-themed hotel titled “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser” in March 2022. It has <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/25/business/disney-star-wars-galactic-starcruiser.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">charged</a> guests between $5,000 and $20,000 for two nights. The hotel has charged $13.50 for a single beer and $23 for cocktails.
During the global pandemic, when Disneyland was closed, Disney’s Annual Passport system was <a href="https://www.cinemablend.com/news/2561461/disneyland-is-going-to-make-a-massive-change-when-it-reopens" target="_blank" rel="noopener">canceled.</a> After the park reopened, Annual Passports were replaced by Magic Keys, which included the Dream Key, the Believe Key and the Enchant Key, then became temporarily unavailable.

Online persons are using the closing of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/disney-world" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Disney World</a>&#8216;s &#8220;Splash Mountain&#8221; attraction as a chance to make a quick buck by selling the alleged water from the ride.
Splash Mountain, the enormously popular log flume ride at Walt Disney World&#8217;s Magic Kingdom theme park, closed on Monday in preparation to be rebuilt as a more &#8220;inclusive&#8221; ride. But Disney fans, eager to preserve the memory of the iconic ride, are looking for souvenirs. To that end, internet salespeople are looking to cash in by selling alleged water from the ride.
A quick search of &#8220;Splash Mountain Water&#8221; on eBay yields some interesting results. Entrepreneurial eBay auctioneers are selling bottles, mason jars, and even plastic bags purportedly full of water from the ride, at prices ranging from just a few dollars to hundreds. One product is a plastic bag that allegedly contains <a href="https://www.ebay.com/itm/334714956753?hash=item4dee90ebd1:g:JHUAAOSwdctjzuKh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">4 ounces of water</a> from the ride, with &#8220;Splash Mountain Water 1/22/2023&#8221; written in black marker on the bag, with water droplets drawn on it; it is selling for $13.50.

One Disney World guest who has ridden Splash Mountain more than 200 times, summed things up succinctly. “The Disney community can be very weird sometimes,” Adrian Vasquez told <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/26/us/disney-splash-mountain-closes.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a>. “I honestly don’t know how else to put it.”
Splash Mountain took guests for the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fans-bid-farewell-to-disney-worlds-splash-mountain-as-it-closed-after-30-years-due-to-racism-assertions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">final ride</a> down its 50-foot drop on Sunday. The ride opened in 1992 and has been a popular staple of Disney World’s Magic Kingdom ever since, with celebrities like Princess Diana going for a ride. But the company announced in 2020 that it would shut down Splash Mountain, which was accused of having racist themes, in favor of creating a more inclusive ride themed after Princess Tiana from “The Princess and the Frog” in its place.
Some parkgoers called Splash Mountain “extremely problematic” due to “stereotypical racist tropes.” It’s based on elements from the Disney film “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Song of the South</a>” (1946), which were included on the ride.
