Denmark is preparing to <a href="https://www.dailymail.com/news/article-15926817/Denmark-plans-ban-Islamic-call-prayer-Shouldnt-sound-like-suburb-Islamabad.html?ns_mchannel=rss&amp;ns_campaign=1490&amp;ito=social-twitter_mailonline">outlaw</a> the public broadcast of the Islamic call to prayer.
Immigration Minister Morten Bødskov announced this week that the government would relaunch an inquiry into whether a nationwide prohibition on the Adhan — the traditional summons to prayer broadcast five times daily from mosque loudspeakers — could be enacted without violating constitutional protections for religious freedom. Bødskov, a Social Democrat, framed the move in blunt terms, arguing that parts of Denmark risked losing their cultural identity to what he called a slow creep of Islamization. He said the country should sound and feel distinctly Danish, not like a neighborhood in a Pakistani city.
Some Danish localities, including Copenhagen, already effectively silence outdoor calls to prayer through strict noise regulations. A new investigation would seek to determine whether a uniform national ban could be written to survive legal challenge under Denmark&#8217;s constitution, which protects the right to public worship while already permitting limits on anti-democratic religious speech.
The move fits a broader pattern in Danish policy. Under Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Denmark has cultivated some of the most restrictive immigration rules in Europe, including laws that allow authorities to resettle migrants out of neighborhoods deemed to have too high a concentration of foreign-born residents. Denmark is home to roughly 270,000 Muslims and around 100 mosques in a general population of about six million.
The Danish debate is one front in a wider international conversation about the call to prayer&#8217;s place in Western cities. In Australia, a Sydney-area local government is <a href="https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/former-cumberland-mayor-pushes-planning-changes-to-prevent-outdoor-islamic-call-to-prayer-broadcasts/news-story/0f4083cd302952096c41094e56267e81?amp">weighing planning rules</a> that would bar mosques from installing outdoor loudspeakers for the call to prayer as a preemptive response to a pending application from a mosque in Lakemba.
The picture looks markedly different in parts of the United States. New York City moved in 2023 to <a href="https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/muslim-call-to-prayer-can-now-be-broadcast-publicly-in-nyc-without-a-permit/4633760">eliminate permit requirements</a> for mosques to broadcast the Adhan on Fridays and during Ramadan, with Mayor Eric Adams describing the change as an overdue step toward inclusion. Minneapolis that same year became the first major American city to allow <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/jun/29/minnesota-islamophobia-muslim-mosque-attacks-prayer">unrestricted outdoor broadcasts at any hour</a>. But in Dearborn, Michigan — home to one of the country&#8217;s largest Arab-American communities — residents have lodged noise complaints against mosques, and city officials have <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/detroit/news/complaint-dearborn-mosque-noise-call-to-prayer/">confirmed</a> that at least one mosque was found in violation of local ordinances following decibel testing.

In a tense confrontation reminiscent of the Cuban Missile Crisis, except without Cuba or the missiles or, really, the crisis, the United States has narrowly avoided a harrowing war with Denmark.
The crisis or whatever began when Donald Trump demanded Denmark hand Greenland over to the United States and issued a saber-rattling threat in which the sabers were made entirely of Legos just to add insult to injury. Trump said: “Since you lousy Danes have repeatedly refused to give me the Nobel Peace Prize, I see no reason why I should continue to be peaceful if I don’t get a prize for it. And the Nobel Prize I received from that kooky Venezuelan dame with a name like a Spanish dance number doesn’t count, because people just laugh when they see it, so I’m sending it back and taking Greenland instead.”
When Secretary of State Marco Rubio explained that the Nobel Peace Prize is given in Norway not Denmark, Trump became so enraged he appointed Rubio the King of France so he’d have his head cut off. When he found out the French no longer cut people’s heads off, he appointed Rubio the first lady of France and leaked the news to Candace Owens.
Panicked by the threat of invasion, the Danish Prime Minister whose name no one can pronounce and who might even be a chick for all I know, ordered four brigades of the 101st Hans Christian Andersen Division to sail to Greenland on one of those cute little sailboats like the one in &#8220;The Little Mermaid.&#8221; This increased the tension because, despite its small size, the Danish military is renowned for its tough training, though it’s mostly in folk dancing.
Meanwhile, the administration got to work preparing for war by testing out various battle cries like, “Damn you Danes, no one can even understand what you’re saying!” and “Give us Greenland, Denmark, and none of your stinking Danish tricks!” and “In America, we eat Danish for breakfast, so ha ha ha!”

The administration even prepared a new aggressive Greenland national anthem more suitable for an American colony, with rousing lyrics like, “Oh Greenland, it’s the nicest place you’ve ever seen-land, Where no one’s a wimp, and we’re proud of our shrimp. Oh, Greenland, our home sweet home.”
The news of the impending American attack so upset global elites at their annual gathering in Davos, Switzerland, that they were forced to suspend their usual business of trying to impose obnoxious, useless, and oppressive ideas on people who’d rather pinch their elite noses and twist them like Moe used to do to the other two Stooges than listen to a word these privileged melon-heads have to say. Instead, European leaders and other obscure non-entities took to the stage to make angry speeches as a way of passing their last remaining moments in power before they’re tossed onto the dustbin of history.
The prime minister of Canada, for instance — and I can’t bother to find out his name so just make one up yourself — told the gathering, “There has been such a rupture in the world order that we’re barely able to debank the working class citizens who protest our policies, or arrest anyone who uses Grok to make hilarious pictures of us naked or persecute the saints who pray silently near abortion clinics. If Donald Trump does not restore this world order immediately, Europe will be forced to ally itself with China. After all, China’s a one-party nation with no free speech and a small minority of white people, so it’s basically a European nation already.”
Donald Trump conceded the Canadian’s point and issued a new statement saying, “I war on Denmark declare,” but then found out it was the WORLD order the Canadian premier was complaining about not the WORD ORDER, and Trump issued another declaration, saying, “Oh, it screw.”
As the hour of decision drew ever closer, audiences around the world sat tensely before their televisions, mostly watching &#8220;What’s in the Box?&#8221; Fortunately, at the last minute, Trump decided to make a deal when he realized a war with Denmark might last longer than he thought and interrupt a full half of the AFC Championship game, instead of just the first ten minutes.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre responded after President Donald Trump said he was ready to abandon &#8220;peace&#8221; as the primary goal of his efforts to obtain control of Greenland.
Gahr Støre <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/norwegian-leader-says-he-received-trump-message-that-reportedly-ties-greenland-to-nobel-peace-prize">confirmed</a> on Monday that he had spoken with Trump via text about the president&#8217;s plan to implement new tariffs as leverage to force Denmark into a deal over Greenland — and that he had initially suggested a phone call to &#8220;de-escalate&#8221; tensions.
&#8220;I can confirm that this is a text message that I received yesterday afternoon from President Trump. It came in response to a short text message from me to President Trump sent earlier on the same day, on behalf of myself and the President of Finland Alexander Stubb,&#8221; Gahr Støre explained.
&#8220;In our message to Trump, we conveyed our opposition to his announced tariff increases against Norway, Finland, and select other countries. We pointed to the need to de-escalate and proposed a telephone conversation between Trump, Stubb, and myself on the same day,&#8221; Gahr Støre said, adding, &#8220;The response from Trump came shortly after the message was sent. It was his decision to share his message with other NATO leaders.&#8221;
Gahr Støre went on to say that he&#8217;d addressed Trump&#8217;s efforts to link the actions of the Nobel Committee and the actions of the Norwegian government, explaining that the committee was entirely independent and was not influenced by the government in any way. He also offered his full-throated defense of Denmark with regard to Trump&#8217;s attempts to gain control of Greenland.
&#8220;Norway’s position on Greenland is clear. Greenland is a part of the Kingdom of Denmark, and Norway fully supports the Kingdom of Denmark on this matter,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We also support that NATO in a responsible way is taking steps to strengthen security and stability in the Arctic. As regards the Nobel Peace Prize, I have clearly explained, including to president Trump, what is well known, the prize is awarded by an independent Nobel Committee and not the Norwegian Government.&#8221;

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that acquiring Greenland is “essential” to U.S. national security and that an impending “fight for the Arctic” is real.
During an appearance Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” host Kristen Welker asked Bessent if President Trump was simply using Greenland as a negotiating tactic or if he is truly intent on “annexing” the territory.
“President Trump strongly believes that we cannot outsource our security because … let me tell you what will happen. And it might not be next year, might not be in five years, but down the road, this fight for the Arctic is real,” Bessent began.
The secretary noted that if there were an attack on Greenland, the U.S. would be dragged in anyway due to “NATO guarantees.”
“Make it part of the United States, and there will not be a conflict,” he said. “Because the United States right now, we are the hottest country in the world; we are the strongest country in the world. Europeans project weakness; U.S. projects strength.”
After Welker noted that Denmark says “Greenland is not for sale,” Bessent responded that “for over a century, American presidents have wanted to acquire Greenland, and what we can see is that Greenland is essential to the U.S. national security.”
“We&#8217;re building the Golden Dome, the missile system. President Trump is looking — is being strategic. He&#8217;s looking beyond this year. He&#8217;s looking beyond next year to what could happen for a battle in the Arctic,” Bessent added. “We are not going to outsource our national security. We are not going to outsource our hemispheric security to other countries.”

President trump has been continuing to ratchet up the pressure on Europe in his pursuit of Greenland.

TRUMP, can play in this game, and very successfully, at that! Last week, Trump similarly warned that Greenland would fall under the control of Russia or China if the U.S. doesn&#8217;t step in. “If we don’t take Greenland, Russia or China will take Greenland, and I am not going to let that happen,” Trump told reporters on board Air Force One. “I’d love to make a deal with them. It’s easier. But one way or the other, we’re going to have Greenland.”
In his Saturday Truth Social post, Trump added, &#8220;The United States has been trying to do this transaction for over 150 years. Many Presidents have tried, and for good reason, but Denmark has always refused. &#8230; The United States of America is immediately open to negotiation with Denmark and/or any of these Countries that have put so much at risk, despite all that we have done for them, including maximum protection, over so many decades.&#8221;

The White House&#8217;s meeting with Denmark and Greenland on Wednesday did not change any minds on President Donald Trump&#8217;s push to acquire Greenland, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said.
Rasmussen spoke at a <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cn824zzp670t#player">press conference</a> alongside Greenlandic Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt after meeting with Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Denmark oversees Greenland&#8217;s defense while the territory is largely self-governing. In recent weeks, Trump has ramped up his push to make Greenland a territory of the United States for national security purposes.
The meeting on Wednesday was &#8220;frank and constructive,&#8221; but ultimately the sides agreed to disagree, with Denmark sticking firm to its &#8220;red lines,&#8221; according to Rasmussen.
&#8220;We, the Kingdom of Denmark, continue to believe that also the long-term security of Greenland can be ensured inside the current framework, the 1951 agreement on the defense of Greenland as well as the NATO treaty,&#8221; he said. &#8220;For us, ideas that would not respect the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Denmark and the right of self-determination of the Greenlandic people are, of course, totally unacceptable.&#8221;
&#8220;We therefore still have a fundamental disagreement, but we also agree to disagree,&#8221; Rasmussen added.
Motzfeldt said that it remains important for Greenland to &#8220;strengthen our cooperation with the United States, but that doesn&#8217;t mean that we want to be owned by the United States.&#8221;
Denmark and Greenland agreed to continue the discussions to see &#8220;if we can find a common way forward,&#8221; the Danish foreign minister said. The discussions are expected to continue in the coming weeks. Rasmussen said he agreed with the Trump administration&#8217;s concerns about the security situation in the Arctic, but added that he does not see China and Russia representing an &#8220;instant threat.&#8221;
&#8220;There&#8217;s no Chinese presence in Greenland, but there&#8217;s a concern: would that be the case in 10 or 20 years from now?&#8221; Rasmussen asked. &#8220;It will not because our Greenlandic friends have introduced investments &#8230; and Denmark is, by all means, on the right side of history.&#8221;

Trump&#8217;s &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-reveals-new-details-about-golden-dome-missile-defense-system-to-protect-u-s">Golden Dome for America</a>&#8221; would set up a missile defense system encircling the United States, a much larger version of  Israel&#8217;s &#8220;Iron Dome.&#8221; The president hopes to complete the $175 billion defense project by the end of his term. Trump said the &#8220;Golden Dome&#8221; would complete the &#8220;Star Wars&#8221; defense plan conceived by former President Ronald Reagan. The first $25 billion for the plan was appropriated under Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Big, Beautiful Bill.&#8221;
“Once fully constructed, the golden dome will be capable of intercepting missiles even if they are launched from other sides of the world, and even if they are launched from space, and we will have the best system ever built,” Trump said in May.
In the past month, Trump has focused much of his attention on acquiring Greenland, an idea he floated a few times last year. On December 21, Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-taps-republican-governor-as-special-envoy-to-greenland-make-greenland-a-part-of-the-u-s">appointed</a> Louisiana Republican Governor Jeff Landry to serve as special envoy to Greenland, saying that Landry “understands how essential Greenland is to our National Security, and will strongly advance our Country’s Interests for the Safety, Security, and Survival of our Allies, and indeed, the World.”
Trump told reporters at the White House last week that the United States would &#8220;do something on Greenland, whether they like it or not.&#8221; He said the United States would take control of Greenland the “easy way” — by making a deal — or the “hard way,” which he didn’t elaborate on. The White House has not ruled out using military force to achieve its goals with Greenland.
On Sunday, the president again <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-u-s-must-acquire-greenland-to-stop-russia-or-china-from-taking-control">stressed</a> the importance of the United States taking control of Greenland, adding that he was &#8220;not going to let&#8221; Russia or China invade the territory. Trump said he &#8220;would love&#8221; to make a deal with Denmark, which oversees Greenland, to acquire the territory. Leaders in Denmark and Greenland, however, have opposed Trump&#8217;s push to take control of Greenland.

Trump: Greenland Is Non-Negotiable For U.S. Security

President Donald Trump said Sunday that the United States must acquire Greenland, warning that if Washington does not act, the strategically critical territory could fall under Russian or Chinese control. 
Trump’s claim comes ahead of a reported meeting on Wednesday between officials from the United States and Denmark over the future of the Danish-ruled island. 
“If we don&#8217;t take Greenland, Russia or China will take Greenland, and I am not going to let that happen,” Trump told reporters on board Air Force One. “I&#8217;d love to make a deal with them. It&#8217;s easier. But one way or the other, we&#8217;re going to have Greenland.”
Trump later said he has not made an offer to Denmark for Greenland, but argued that Danish officials should make a deal if they don’t want Russia or China to take over. 
“Their defense is two dog sleds,” Trump said. “In the meantime, you have Russian destroyers and submarines and China destroyers and submarines all over the place.” 
On Friday, political leaders in Greenland issued a <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/greenland-trump-reject-acquisition-dont-want-to-be-americans/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">joint statement</a> saying they wanted to be independent of both Denmark and the United States. 
&#8220;We don&#8217;t want to be Americans, we don&#8217;t want to be Danes, we want to be Greenlanders,&#8221; said Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen with four other party leaders. &#8220;As Greenlandic party leaders, we would like to emphasize once again our wish that the United States&#8217; contempt for our country ends.”
&#8220;No other country can interfere in this,&#8221; they added. &#8220;We must decide the future of our country ourselves, without pressure for quick decision, delay or interference from other countries.&#8221;
Last week, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that an American military takeover of Greenland would effectively end NATO.
On Sunday, Louisiana Republican governor and special envoy to Greenland Jeff Landry suggested that Denmark illegitimately took control of Greenland after World War II. 
“History matters. The U.S. defended Greenland’s sovereignty during WWII when Denmark couldn’t. After the war, Denmark re-occupied it—side stepping and ignoring UN protocol,” he <a href="https://x.com/LAGovJeffLandry/status/2010374758290833832">posted</a> on X. “This should be about hospitality, not hostility.”
Landry, who is serving in the role on a volunteer basis, has <a href="https://x.com/LAGovJeffLandry/status/2002950029494124986?lang=en">said</a> his role is to make Greenland part of the United States.

President Donald Trump made his intentions to acquire Greenland even more clear on Friday, arguing that the territory is important to fighting back against Russian and Chinese aggression.
Trump <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/2009735362227175513">said</a> the United States would take control of Greenland the &#8220;easy way&#8221; — by making a deal — or the &#8220;hard way,&#8221; which he didn&#8217;t elaborate on. The president made the comments on Greenland while taking questions from reporters at the White House during a roundtable with oil executives that focused on rejuvenating Venezuela&#8217;s oil industry.
&#8220;Right now, we are going to do something on Greenland, whether they like it or not, because if we don&#8217;t do it, Russia or China will take over Greenland,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;And we&#8217;re not going to have Russia or China as a neighbor.&#8221;
&#8220;I would like to make a deal the easy way, but if we don&#8217;t do it the easy way, we&#8217;re going to do it the hard way,&#8221; he added.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said earlier this week that the U.S. military &#8220;is always an option at the commander-in-chief&#8217;s disposal&#8221; when discussing the national security importance of Greenland. Trump has suggested at times throughout his second term that the United States should take over Greenland, but following his recent move on Venezuela, the president has made Greenland a major focus of his foreign policy plans.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/denmark-greenland-request-meeting-with-rubio-after-trump-revives-push-for-new-territory">said</a> earlier this week that the threat of Trump using military force on Greenland is important to his negotiating strategy. Rubio added that Trump prefers to purchase Greenland from Denmark, which oversees the autonomous territory and is a NATO ally.
After Trump revived his push for Greenland, the territory&#8217;s leaders, along with Denmark, pushed back and requested a meeting with Rubio.
“The strong request for a meeting is related to the U.S.’s claims about our country,” said Greenland Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeld, according to ABC News. “Unfortunately, our country’s request for a meeting for a long time has not been successful, although this has been repeatedly requested by our country.”
Denmark Foreign Minister Lars Rasmussen also requested to meet with Rubio, and the U.S. secretary of State plans to meet with Denmark officials next week, ABC News <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/denmark-greenland-seek-talks-rubio-after-white-house-128973261">reported</a>.
European nations and Canada have expressed concern after Trump revived talk about taking over Greenland. In a joint statement from France, Britain, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, and Denmark, European leaders said that &#8220;Greenland belongs to its people. It is for Denmark and Greenland, and them only, to decide on matters concerning Denmark and Greenland.&#8221; Canada and the Netherlands also endorsed the statement, Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/only-greenland-denmark-can-decide-their-future-european-leaders-say-joint-2026-01-06/">reported</a>.
Trump told reporters on Sunday that the United States needs &#8220;Greenland from the standpoint of national security and the European Union needs us to have it and they know that.” Trump&#8217;s adviser, Stephen Miller, then said on Monday, &#8220;Nobody’s going to fight the United States militarily over the future of Greenland.&#8221;
Republican lawmakers, including House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), have also pushed back on the idea of the U.S. military being used to acquire Greenland. Johnson said, &#8220;I don’t think it’s appropriate,&#8221; while Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/5678420-john-kennedy-greenland-invasion-stupid/">said</a> that &#8220;even a modestly intelligent ninth grader knows that to invade Greenland would be weapons-grade stupid.&#8221;
“Now, President Trump is not weapons-grade stupid, nor is Marco Rubio. They do not plan to invade Greenland,” Kennedy added.

Officials in Denmark and Greenland have requested to meet with Secretary of State Marco Rubio as President Donald Trump has renewed his efforts to acquire Greenland.
Greenland Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt and Denmark Foreign Minister Lars Rasmussen said separately that they had requested a meeting with Rubio. The officials said that similar meetings had been requested last year, but never granted.
“The strong request for a meeting is related to the U.S.&#8217;s claims about our country,” Motzfeldt said, according to <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/us-military-option-acquiring-greenland-white-house-official/story?id=128960041">ABC News</a>. “Unfortunately, our country&#8217;s request for a meeting for a long time has not been successful, although this has been repeatedly requested by our country.”
Rasmussen said that the meeting would clear up “certain misunderstandings” related to Washington’s desire to acquire Greenland, according to <a href="https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20260106-trump-considering-military-options-to-acquire-greenland">France 24</a>.
Trump has renewed his case for U.S. control of Greenland after the United States military last week successfully arrested and extradited Venezuela strongman Nicolás Maduro from his compound in Caracas. U.S. forces took Maduro to New York where he is set to stand trial on drug trafficking charges.
The White House issued a statement on Tuesday that said the administration is leaving open the option of “utilizing the U.S. military” as part of its acquisition strategy.
“President Trump has made it well known that acquiring Greenland is a national security priority of the United States, and it’s vital to deter our adversaries in the Arctic region,” the White House said. “The president and his team are discussing a range of options to pursue this important foreign policy goal, and of course, utilizing the U.S. military is always an option at the commander in chief’s disposal.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio told lawmakers on Capitol Hill on Monday that threats to involve the military are part of a bargaining strategy. Rubio said that Trump wants to purchase Greenland from Denmark, not invade it, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/06/us/politics/rubio-trump-greenland.html">The New York Times</a>.
Denmark has repeatedly pushed back against U.S. claims to the territory. On Tuesday, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Poland joined Denmark in issuing a joint statement against U.S. acquisition of Greenland.
Trump has insisted that Greenland is necessary for U.S. national security, especially to secure Arctic shipping lanes. Danish control of Greenland also cuts against the Monroe Doctrine against European interference in the Western hemisphere.

President Donald Trump reiterated his calls for the United States to take control of Greenland after Saturday&#8217;s move to capture and extradite Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, saying that control of the island was more critical than ever from a national security standpoint.
Trump made the comments while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, and while he conceded that Greenland was not the number one priority at the moment, he made it clear that the issue was still on his radar.

Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen pushed back over the weekend, calling Trump&#8217;s remarks &#8220;very rude and disrespectful.&#8221;
&#8220;I have to say this very directly to the United States: It makes absolutely no sense to talk about the need for the United States to take over Greenland,&#8221; Danish Prime Minister <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/05/world/europe/trump-greenland-denmark.html">Mette Frederiksen</a> added. &#8220;The Kingdom of Denmark – and thus Greenland – is part of NATO and is therefore covered by the alliance’s security guarantee. Frederiksen added a warning: &#8220;I would therefore strongly urge the United States to stop the threats against a historically close ally and against another country and another people who have said very clearly that they are not for sale.&#8221;

A new childhood vaccination schedule under Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. could look a lot more like Denmark&#8217;s schedule — meaning more parental control, fewer overall shots, and nixing very early doses.
Kennedy has made it clear that he wants to overhaul how vaccines are recommended — and mandated — in the United States. So far, the secretary has handpicked a new Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) panel and green-lighted changes to the Hep B and COVID vaccines.
But more changes are coming. New reports indicate that HHS wants to recommend fewer vaccines and instead encourage parents to speak to their doctors about certain shots. Denmark&#8217;s vaccine schedule is reportedly the model HHS wants to align with more closely.
In Denmark, children receive far fewer vaccines than children in the U.S. For example, the Scandinavian nation does not recommend vaccinating children against the flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), hepatitis A and B, or chickenpox, among other viruses, as <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/12/19/childhood-vaccine-schedule-denmark-revisions">highlighted</a> by The Washington Post. Compared to the U.S., Denmark recommends eight fewer vaccines against infectious diseases.
Also, in Denmark, children are recommended to get vaccinations later than in the U.S. Denmark waits until a baby is 3 months old before vaccinations, recommending zero at birth. A fully vaccinated 12-month-old child in Denmark will have received 18 vaccine doses for six diseases, <a href="https://cyvaccine.com/article/does-demnark-practice-same-vaccination-schedule-as-the-us" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to Cyvaccine, while a 12-month-old in the U.S. will have received 43 vaccine doses for 16 diseases.
Denmark also offers parents more control over their child&#8217;s vaccinations. Recommendations are voluntary in the Scandinavian country, and not mandated for school entry, unlike in the U.S. Kennedy reportedly wants to mirror Denmark in this respect, too.
Former U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb said such a change would put liability back on vaccine manufacturers, which is something HHS, under Kennedy, seems inclined to do.

Rumors of the shifts peaked after President Donald Trump signed a presidential memorandum earlier this month directing HHS to &#8220;FAST TRACK&#8221; a comprehensive evaluation of vaccine schedules. Trump directed the department to change the vaccine schedule so it more closely mirrors other developed nations, while using the &#8220;Gold Standard of Science and COMMON SENSE!”
“The American Childhood Vaccine Schedule long required 72 ‘jabs,’ for perfectly healthy babies, far more than any other Country in the World, and far more than is necessary,” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “In fact, it is ridiculous! Many parents and scientists have been questioning the efficacy of this ‘schedule,’ as have I!”

As for more, HHS says any reports about the vaccine schedule shake-up are merely speculation. “Unless you hear it from HHS directly, this is pure speculation,&#8221; HHS spokesman Andrew Nixon <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/12/19/childhood-vaccine-schedule-denmark-revisions">said</a>.
