Any &#8220;bounce&#8221; that Vice President Kamala Harris may have gotten from last month&#8217;s Democratic National Convention (DNC) appears to have evaporated, according to the most recent New York Times/Siena poll out on Sunday.
Josh Kraushaar offered a breakdown of the poll, taken between September 3 and September 6, which showed an overall win for former President Donald Trump (48%) over Harris (47%).
&#8220;The Harris bounce, blown,&#8221; he said, and quoted the NYTimes article accompanying the poll as saying that the responses were &#8220;largely unchanged from a Times/Siena poll taken in late July just after President Biden dropped his reelection bid.

Several of the poll&#8217;s key questions outlined where the DNC — which relied heavily on attacks on former President Trump contrasted with the &#8220;joy&#8221; represented by Harris and running mate Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) — may have missed the mark.
A number of those polled indicated that they might consider Harris, but wanted to know more about her — particularly her policy positions — before they were willing to commit to casting a vote in her favor.

According to the poll, five percent were still undecided — and two-thirds of those said they wanted to know more about Harris&#8217; policies before casting a vote.
The poll also indicated that Harris&#8217; apparent push to drive voters to view her as a &#8220;change&#8221; candidate — and to put distance between her campaign and the policies implemented by the Biden-Harris administration — was not going as well as she might like.
&#8220;If November is about change,&#8221; the article stated, &#8220;Ms. Harris will need to make the case that she can deliver it. More than 60 percent of likely voters said the next president should represent a major change from Mr. Biden, but only 25 percent said the vice president represented that change, while 53 percent said Mr. Trump, the former president, did.&#8221;
Further complicating that particular issue is the fact that less than one-third of those polled believe the country is moving in the right direction — and if they don&#8217;t view Harris as a change from that, it poses yet another problem for her to address.

Attempts by Harris and Walz to paint Trump and his running mate — Senator JD Vance (R-OH) — as &#8220;extreme&#8221; and &#8220;weird&#8221; also appear to have fallen flat, as the poll indicated only 32% view Trump as &#8220;too conservative. Contrast that with the 47% who see Harris as &#8220;too liberal,&#8221; and it poses yet another hurdle for Harris to clear in Tuesday&#8217;s ABC debate.
The Vice President&#8217;s strongest issue, according to the poll, is abortion — but even that may have her on shaky ground. Despite her repeated insistence to the contrary, 16% of Democrats — and almost half of the independents polled — do not believe that Trump would move to enact a federal law restricting abortions.

Podcast giant <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-rogan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Rogan</a> slammed billionaire Oprah Winfrey and former first lady Michelle Obama this week for discussing incoming inequality at the Democratic National Convention, noting the sheer hypocrisy of the situation.
Rogan made the remarks during his “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast this week while discussing some of the lunacy that unfolded at the DNC.
“How about Oprah?” Rogan said. “Oprah was talking about her and Trump running together, and now she’s speaking to the DNC that he’s a threat to democracy and she’s up there talking about income inequality, like, ‘Hey lady — you’re rich as f***!’ I’m like, ‘How is that equal?’”
He said that it was “nuts” how numerous celebrities used to be close friends with Trump, but they now hate him because he’s a Republican and not a Democrat.

You know, I was so impressed with the Democratic National Convention, I’ve decided to change the format of my show to make it more like the DNC. So, for instance, before I begin today, I’d like to acknowledge that the land I’m podcasting from is the traditional home of the Cherokee or the Chickasaw or the Chickamauga or the Chick-Filet or whatever the hell these primitives called themselves while they sat around half-naked in ridiculous little conical tents smoking pipes full of God-knows-what before the Europeans came and brought air conditioning and civilization and things like that.
And I want to honor with gratitude the land itself which, okay, doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense since it was just a bunch of dirt before we built stuff on it like Yankee Stadium and superhighways and other things the Indians didn’t think of because, let’s face it, they never even invented the wheel. They just sat around most days wondering why it was so hard to get the wagons to move until they finally went back to smoking their pipes because, really, who needs wheels when you’re stoned out of your mind?
Still, we honor the land, because we want to sound as spiritual as the Democrats at their convention or in fact as spiritual as any bunch of unintelligible paganized atheists gleefully returning to the bloody practice of human sacrifice or women’s healthcare or whatever they’re calling it nowadays. 
So we honor the land and all those who lived upon the land until one day they looked up and saw ships that had crossed the entire Atlantic ocean while they were sitting around smoking and wondering why their wheel-less wagons were just gathering dust like a pile of useless two-by-fours — or, who even knows, maybe one of them tried to say something like, “Hey, wait, if we put some big circular objects underneath these wagons, we could roll them somewhere,” but he probably got the old arrow — Pfft! — right in the forehead, because the rest of the tribe was, like, hey, keep it down, we’re smoking here and watching those beautiful ships coming this way — from what they probably thought was another planet since they didn’t even know there were other continents and, meanwhile, the Europeans were zipping around from one continent to another until they could take over that Indian land and, thank God, start building something useful on it.

Now some of you may be thinking, well, wait, you say Europeans took the land from the Cherokees, but didn’t the Cherokees take it from the Chickasaws who took it from the Chick-Filets who took it from the Dixie Chicks so that basically the whole history of the continent was just a bunch of half-naked chicks fighting, like at that bar I sometimes go to with the mud pit and the wet t-shirts. Man, I love that place.
Anyway, all these half-naked chick tribes were busy killing one another until suddenly they looked up and there were the Europeans and it was, like — Boom! — how do you like my AR-15 firestick, Indian-man? And the Indians were, like, “Holy crapum, we should’ve invented the wheel, then we could have rolled our wagons to the gun store and bought some of those firesticks so we could wipe out these Europe guys like we did with the Chickadees or the Chick Magnets or whoever it was we were killing when those ships arrived from another planet.

But all the same, I want to acknowledge them because they were people too almost, and just like the Democrats at their convention, I want to give them the sense that I care about their suffering without actually caring about their suffering or indeed without actually doing anything, except what I’m doing right now which doesn’t cost me a thin dime but makes me feel great about myself.
So that’s my Democrat-style land acknowledgement, and if its cynicism and insincerity make you feel hypocritical, you can always comfort yourself by using your iPhone to order overnight delivery of a laptop from Amazon, and kick back and enjoy the wonderful fruits of European expansion. Then, just like the Democrats, we can all finally stop blaming ourselves for settler imperialism and get back to blaming the Jews.

“The Hangover” actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Zach Galifianakis</a> thinks Hollywood celebrities should butt out of making political <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/politics">endorsements</a>.
The 54-year-old made his remarks just after the star-studded <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/democratic-national-convention">Democratic National Convention</a>, which took place in Chicago last week. Celebrity appearances included Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn, Eva Longoria, Ben Stiller, Octavia Spencer, Uzo Aduba, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Mindy Kaling.
There were also musical performances by John Legend, Patti LaBelle, Stevie Wonder, The Chicks, Mickey Guyton, Jason Isbell, and Lil Jon. Rumors were buzzing that Beyoncé would make a surprise appearance, but in the end, it was Pink who showed up as the main musical guest, accompanied by her 13-year-old daughter, Willow.

“As a small-town guy from North Carolina … I do wish the DNC would step back from the celebrities a little bit,” Galifianakis told <a href="https://variety.com/2024/politics/columns/zach-galifianakis-hollywood-endorsements-could-hurt-kamala-harris-1236116678/">Variety</a> at the “Only Murders in the Building” Season 4 premiere event. 
“It works to a point, but they have to win over rural America,” the actor continued. “Hollywood thinks it’s so important and that’s a problem. Actors are people too, and they’re citizens too, but I’m more on the small-town side of that than I am on the Hollywood side of that. That’s just me.”
The interviewer also spoke with several other “Only Murders” stars on the red carpet. Kumail Nanjiani said he plans on helping register people to vote and admitted to being energized now that the Democrats pushed out Biden in favor of Harris.
“It’s really unbelievable how I was feeling a month and a half ago and how I’m feeling now. It’s really inspiring … This has given me faith in humanity,&#8221; he told the outlet. &#8220;I just feel lighter and happier. I am going to say I am fighting to stay hopeful and not get too optimistic or confident. There’s still a lot of work to do.&#8221;

Comedian Jon Stewart slammed Democrats this week for the hypocrisy that was on display at the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/democratic-national-convention" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Democratic National Convention</a> (DNC).
Stewart made the remarks on Comedy Central&#8217;s &#8220;The Daily Show&#8221; on Thursday night following the convention&#8217;s conclusion.
&#8220;At their convention, they had union leaders and C.E.O.s. They had Democratic Party icons and lifelong Republicans,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They had a guy yelling, ‘Screw the billionaires!’ followed immediately by a very happy billionaire.&#8221;
Stewart was referencing attacks from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and the subsequent remarks from Illinois Democrat Governor J.B. Pritzker, who is a billionaire.
&#8220;It&#8217;s all okay if it’s our billionaire,&#8221; Stewart mockingly said of the Democrats. &#8220;I don’t like billionaires, but he’s all right.&#8221;
Stewart then slammed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for mocking Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) for going to Yale while Democrats had multiple Yale graduates speak — including former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Chris Coons (D-DE), and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) — which Stewart included in a graphic on the screen.
&#8220;The Democrats had people who prosecuted sexual predators,&#8221; Steward said, showing a photo of Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris.

HBO host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/bill-maher" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bill Maher</a> ripped CNN host Kaitlan Collins during his show this week over the network&#8217;s left-wing bias, which he said is on constant display.
Maher made the remarks Friday night on &#8220;Real Time&#8221; while discussing an interview that Collins had with Stephen Colbert on CBS where she and her network were laughed at when Colbert said that they were a straight news organization.
&#8220;You made press because you were on Stephen Colbert&#8217;s show, and he said something like, &#8216;You guys at CNN just report the news straight.&#8217; And the crowd burst into laughter,&#8221; Maher said. &#8220;I&#8217;m a big rooter for CNN, but that tells you a lot, doesn&#8217;t it?&#8221;
Maher asked Collins how she thinks her network is doing in this &#8220;terribly divided country&#8221; where both sides &#8220;just hate the other side.&#8221;
Collins claimed her show was &#8220;evidence&#8221; that CNN is a place where both sides can watch and be engaged.
&#8220;We&#8217;ll have Elizabeth Warren on one night, we&#8217;ll have Ted Cruz on another night,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I think lawmakers from both parties should take questions, and you should push both of them.&#8221;
She said that CNN was &#8220;a place of credibility&#8221; because the network sent hundreds of people to the Democratic National Convention (DNC) to give mostly fawning coverage of the event.

Maher responded: &#8220;I&#8217;m talking about the people on CNN. And I know what the conservative side of America thinks, and I don&#8217;t blame them. I watched Kamala&#8217;s speech last night. It ended at 8:09, I guess 11:09 in the east.&#8221;
Maher said that CNN gave 15 straight minutes of glowing media coverage to Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris until &#8220;lonely Scott&#8221; Jennings, one of the only conservative voices on the network, chimed in and pushed back on what was being said.
&#8220;I watched from 8:09 to 8:23, they were just gushing about how great a speech it was,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And I think she did fine. I didn&#8217;t think it was as good as they were making it out to be. But if I&#8217;m a conservative in America and I&#8217;m watching CNN, just for the straight middle of the road, that&#8217;s what I hear for 15 minutes, is it&#8217;s great. And then lonely Scott. It does look, I mean, and when you see the panel, it does look like tokenism. It&#8217;s kind of like the same as &#8216;The View,&#8217; it&#8217;s like, it&#8217;s almost better to have nobody there, like MSNBC, than to have this.&#8221;
Collins claimed that people like Dana Bash, Jake Tapper, and Abby Phillip give &#8220;analysis&#8221; and that they were fair voices on the network, to which Maher responded that they &#8220;come across&#8221; like Democrat activists.
&#8220;They come across that way. In a moment like that, it was like five to one,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It always looks like five one.&#8221;

He also posted about a promise to “end inflation,” “Make America Affordable Again,” and “Keep men out of women’s sports.”

Well, the reviews for the DNC are in — and across the political spectrum, on media outlets as far-Left as ABC News to those as far-Left as NBC News, people pretending to be journalists all agree that this Democrat Convention was a joy-filled, folksy, All-American, joy-filled, totally normal, full of joy, freedom-loving gathering of utterly joyful Baby-murdering Communists pretending to ignore antisemitic pro-Islamist terrorist protestors just long enough to get elected, when they can capitulate to them entirely and also full of joy. 
The only sour note came from grumpy, non-joyous Republicans, who attacked Democrats for offering free abortions and vasectomies outside the convention center. Republicans are deeply concerned that if Democrats have too many abortions and vasectomies, there won’t be any more Democrats, and Republicans might accidentally win an election and have to govern, which sounds much harder than talking tough on Fox News. 
Indoors, the joyful, folksy folksiness began with a touching joy-filled all-American farewell speech by Joe Whatever-his-name-used-to-be, who was joyously dragged onstage by Nancy Pelosi, while he dug his fingernails into the floor leaving inch-deep scratch marks as he joyously screamed, “I don’t want to go, please don’t make me go.” 
Far-Left media outlets like CBS and even some far-Left outlets like PBS — or wait, maybe it’s PBS that’s on the far-Left and CBS that’s on the far-Left, I always get those two confused because there’s only one letter of difference between them and they’re both Communist — but anyway, CBS and PBS and all the BS in between agreed that Biden’s farewell speech was a joy-filled, touching, tear-filled, joy-filled touching joy-filled tribute to whatever it was he was talking about.

A joy-filled Biden told the joy-filled crowd, “Sure, I thought I could win re-election. But Nancy Pelosi quietly explained that if I didn’t step down, she would cut off my testicles and wear them for earrings, and so with a great sense of regret and also terror because what a horrifying image that is — Nancy Pelosi wearing my nuts for earrings — holy crap, no wonder I can’t remember who I am or even what the end of this sentence is. But my legacy is clear: I passed all kinds of bills with things in them and now the price of bread is more than fifty percent higher than it was when I took office, but I can afford that, because I’ve made tens of millions of dollars peddling my influence to America’s enemies so at least I&#8217;m not like that stab-in-the-back SOB Obama who ripped off Netflix for a fortune to make god-awful movies so now Netflix can’t afford to let your grandmother share your subscription anymore and she just sits around wondering where all those nice black Victorian Englishmen on TV went and hoping they didn’t escape into real life where they scare the hell out of her. And now I’m very sleepy, so I have to go back to napping and being the leader of the free world.”
Biden’s joyful speech was followed by joyful speeches by the joyful Obamas. First, Michelle Obama joyfully told the joyful crowd “Donald Trump is trying to make people afraid of Barack and me because we’re two college educated black people who are trying to destroy America from within. And that’s racist. We’re not trying to destroy America because we’re black. We’re trying to destroy America because we’re college educated, and have therefore been stripped of our capacity to reason and feel gratitude. So let’s reject racism, and come together to tear this country to pieces in the name of outlandish, anti-factual ideologies that could only be mistaken for reality after four-years of relentless indoctrination, not to mention drugs.” 
Barack Obama then followed his wife with a speech celebrating his legacy of giving nukes to Iran and making it impossible for your grandmother to share your Netflix subscription. 
Finally, Kamala Harris ended the convention by appearing in the form of a hologram, who declared that America needs a change from all the things she supported for the last four years, so vote for her. When asked why the real Kamala couldn’t appear instead of a phony three-dimensional image, DNC officials said that was the only Kamala they had.

Kamala Harris&#8217;s entire campaign comes down to one word: bulls***.
It&#8217;s all just bulls***. That&#8217;s it.
She has no policies. She apparently didn&#8217;t exist before Thursday night.
It&#8217;s amazing. Someone struck the ground and up she popped from the ground in a haze of smoke. And there she was, fully formed, but without any positions.
You see, she&#8217;s not been vice president of the United States. She&#8217;s not responsible for a single thing that has happened for the last three and a half years. In fact, the last three and a half years were a figment of everyone’s imagination. None of it ever happened.
What Kamala is telling everyone is that the actual president of the United States right now is Donald Trump, and he must be ousted because he&#8217;s the incumbent.
“We need a change,” she is insisting. And the way to change horses right now is to elect the exact same horse. That&#8217;s the way to do it.
Remember, she wasn&#8217;t the most liberal senator in the United States. That never happened. That didn&#8217;t exist. None of it.
Harris is here to “bring us forward.” Not backward. Up, not down.

Thursday night, Harris gave a speech that was just like Kodos from Treehouse of Horror on “The Simpsons.” Substitute quotations from a piratical alien who inhabited the body of Bill Clinton in “The Simpsons” in 1996, and it sounds exactly like Kamala Harris because we are now a country beyond parody. 
Kodos <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqjhHVUzl8o" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a>, “My fellow Americans, as a young boy, I dreamed of being a baseball. But tonight, I say we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom.” 
That was Kamala Harris last night. 
According to the media, it was unbelievable.
They are Jeffrey Toobining themselves over the magic of a woman who is a terrible politician, who is pretty good at speaking off the teleprompter, but who says nothing.
An example: David Rothkopf, who is allegedly a columnist for the Daily Beast (and should be ashamed of himself because any self-respecting human should not write words like these), <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/kamala-harris-just-gave-the-speech-of-her-life" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>:

The completely expected but nonetheless surpassing mastery of Michelle and Barack Obama? The star-is-born-yet-again vibe of Tim Walz’s remarks elevated by the pictures of his loving family? The heartbreaking personal stories of gun violence victims?</blockquote>
This goes on for paragraphs and paragraphs:

Just go smoke a cigarette. Calm down. Whew.
That was the media&#8217;s response to Harris&#8217; speech. But here’s the thing: There is nothing there. It&#8217;s all a lie.
She&#8217;s the vice-president of the United States. Inflation has been at 40-year highs. We are in the midst of two major world conflagrations — one in the Middle East, one in Ukraine. Her administration has presided over both. She was the last person in the room when the United States decided, under Joe Biden, to pull out of Afghanistan and leave billions of dollars in U.S. military hardware there, to abandon thousands of U.S. allies to be murdered by the Taliban, to abandon 90 million Afghan women to be forced back into basements, and to get 13 American troops killed at Abbey Gate.
She was the last person in the room. She owns this economy. She owns this foreign policy. She owns the social breakdown over which she has presided.
But we&#8217;re supposed to pretend she is just brand spanking new, just fresh out of the package. It is ridiculous to take a woman who has been a senator from California and the vice president of the United States for the last three years and pretend she has had nothing to do with anything that is happening in the country right now.
But nobody in the Democratic Party gives a damn because they like Biden&#8217;s policies. They don&#8217;t care about the fact she hasn&#8217;t defined herself.
They love the fact she has not defined herself. That&#8217;s the feature, not the bug. Kamala Harris has nothing here. Nothing. She has nothing to do with what&#8217;s going on in the country. It&#8217;s vibes. It&#8217;s magic.

It’s supremely frustrating to be gaslit and told we are supposed to simply close our eyes and vote for a person based on vibes.
That is not what politics is. Politics is about how people exercise power over your life. That&#8217;s what politics is. It is not about vibe checks. It is not about being “brat.” It is not about dancing with Ghost Beyonce, who didn&#8217;t show up last night. It&#8217;s not about any of those things.
It is about what she is going to do with power.
And we know exactly what she&#8217;s going to do with power. We also know exactly what Trump is going to do with power.
And that is what&#8217;s insane.
We know precisely how Trump will govern because he did it last time, and it was pretty damn good.
We know precisely how Harris will govern because she&#8217;s there now. I know we&#8217;re supposed to pretend that&#8217;s not true, but it is. She&#8217;s the sitting vice president of the United States.
You cannot have it both ways. She was shoehorned into the presidential nomination because she&#8217;s the vice president. You cannot then pretend she has no association with the Biden-Harris administration as if she’s a brand-new creation.
It&#8217;s insulting to the American people.
And it’s bulls***.

Before it became a content <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7VvmY_VDQo" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v%3DH7VvmY_VDQo&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1724514983498000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3KrQ2tnnhIiw1c05xguc5p">farm</a> full of AI generated clickbait, Sports Illustrated was at one point a serious publication where major political figures discussed issues of national importance.
That was the case in December of 1960, when Sports Illustrated featured an article from John F. Kennedy, who was the president-elect at the time. The article was entitled &#8220;<a href="https://tomnikkola.com/soft-american/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://tomnikkola.com/soft-american/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1724514983498000&amp;usg=AOvVaw19ziOfPEJ3u7XhIj0zmnpI">The Soft American</a>,&#8221; and it addressed the crisis in masculinity that America was experiencing in the postwar period, as men took office jobs and adjusted to suburban life. In the article, Kennedy called on men to maintain their physical and mental fitness because the strength of the country depended on it. As Kennedy put it, &#8220;The knowledge that the physical well-being of the citizen is an important foundation for the vigor and vitality of all the activities of the nation, is as old as Western civilization itself.” It was a sentiment you’re unlikely to hear from politicians these days, expressed with an eloquence and maturity of thought and speech that you’re even less likely to hear.
But it was a theme that Kennedy hit often. It&#8217;s one of the reasons he was elected. For Democrats in the 1960s, masculinity was a virtue worthy of reinforcing and protecting as much as possible. Going &#8220;soft,&#8221; as Kennedy put it, was tempting. It was the natural way forward for a lot of people. But it would ultimately doom the country.
This wasn&#8217;t a particularly controversial point back then, or at any other point in world history. But in the 1960s, Democrats were the political party that most successfully communicated that message to Americans.

Six decades later, amid another genuine masculinity crisis — as evidenced by plummeting sperm counts, a rash of men who say they&#8217;re really women, declining rates of marriage and so on — Democrats are taking a very different approach. They&#8217;ve realized that emasculated men are easier to control. Weaker men are much less likely to resist wealth confiscation, gun confiscation and other indignities.  And because the modern Democrat Party cares about control more than anything else, they&#8217;re not taking JFK&#8217;s approach. Instead, they&#8217;re doing everything they can to make the masculinity crisis even worse.
Specifically, Democrats are now pushing a new plan to &#8220;revamp&#8221; and &#8220;update&#8221; the entire concept of masculinity for the modern age. This is being achieved through their two new mascots of modern masculinity — their geldings that they’ve been trotting around as a positive example for all men to follow — Tim Walz and Doug Emhoff.
This new ideal man — personified by Emhoff and Walz — is a bumbling cornball. He&#8217;s an obedient lackey who does not challenge anyone or anything, least of all the woman who he happily subordinates himself to. It is certainly no coincidence that the Left’s paragons of masculinity are men who play second fiddle to women. This might sound like one of those forbidden &#8220;conspiracy theories&#8221; that&#8217;s definitely not happening. But pretty much the entire corporate media has admitted it&#8217;s happening. Here&#8217;s CNN for example, explaining that Democrats are intentionally trying to appeal to men who are not, &#8220;testosterone laden&#8221;:

When CNN comes out and states that the Democrats&#8217; vice presidential nominee and the vice president&#8217;s husband both have low testosterone — you know this is a message that the party pre-approved. At any other point in American history, this would&#8217;ve been seen as insulting and condescending, and rightfully so. But Democrats no longer believe it&#8217;s remotely insulting or condescending to publicly state, as explicitly as possible, that someone is an effeminate, low-testosterone wimp. That&#8217;s because they want to encourage that behavior as much as possible. That&#8217;s why CNN isn&#8217;t the only media outlet doing this.
The New York Times, for example, recently <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/22/arts/television/tim-walz-dnc.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/22/arts/television/tim-walz-dnc.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1724514983498000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3x7wqEudqqR6PSX143BOoi">reported</a> from the DNC that Tim Walz&#8217;s prime-time debut, &#8220;offered football analogies and an alternative to Trumpian masculinity.&#8221; The paper stated that &#8220;Mr. Walz contributed an idea of masculinity that contrasted with Donald Trump’s performative, pro-wrestling-influenced machismo.&#8221; According to the Times, &#8220;Not all coaches are men, but there are few pop-culture archetypes more male-coded. There’s the coach as paternalistic strongman — the my-way-or-the-highway leader whom you obey or you’re off the team. There’s the coach as icon — the Vince Lombardis and Tom Landrys whom fans hold equal to political leaders, or greater. But there’s also the coach as nurturer, mentor, character builder, surrogate father. &#8230; Wednesday’s production cast the Democrats as the party of both football and Oprah, balancing the ticket with a little inspirational, male-weepie sports drama.&#8221;

Yes, they wrote that Tim Walz adds &#8220;male-weepie drama&#8221; to the ticket, and we&#8217;re supposed to think that&#8217;s somehow &#8220;inspirational.&#8221; In fact, we&#8217;re supposed to think that a weepy male is so inspirational that it makes Tim Walz the &#8220;surrogate father&#8221; of America. Who needs your own father when you have a phony, manipulative politician who&#8217;s willing to cry a little on stage as he lies about every possible detail in his biography? Why not have Tim Walz raise your children? That&#8217;s what they&#8217;re saying. (And by the way, Tim Walz signed a law allowing Minnesota to effectively raise your children if he or she identifies as &#8220;trans&#8221; and flees to the state. So this isn&#8217;t really even a rhetorical question.)
The Independent ran a similar <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/tim-walz-dnc-harris-speech-vice-president-trump-b2600129.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/tim-walz-dnc-harris-speech-vice-president-trump-b2600129.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1724514983498000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0EP6UbVG8VaitgogrDonpC">headline</a> pushing Tim Walz as the symbol of masculinity, which is how you know this is all coordinated: &#8220;Tim Walz is clearly a midwest ‘man’s man’. But he’s the antidote to toxic Maga masculinity.&#8221; The Independent wrote, &#8220;The image of a high school football coach is often one of a whistle-clutching neanderthal. &#8230; Walz and the Harris campaign are making a point of highlighting the ways that the Minnesota governor has sought to break that cultural mold – like when the then-football coach took the initiative to sponsor a gay-straight alliance at the school where he worked.&#8221;
Yes, because nothing says &#8220;masculinity&#8221; like a grown man who, for some reason, helped to organize a gay club at his school so that he could talk with children about their sexuality — all before he eventually put tampons in the men&#8217;s bathroom. That&#8217;s what masculinity means to Democrats in 2024. It means that you&#8217;re willing to advance Left-wing politics at every available opportunity. It has nothing to do with your character, or your physical attributes or any of that. As long as you&#8217;re a loyal servant of the party, that makes you &#8220;masculine.&#8221;
For a white guy like Tim Walz, playing the role of a loyal foot soldier means that he has to be willing to be mocked, openly, for his skin color. So Tim Walz has happily played along with that. As I&#8217;ve discussed before, he appeared for this scripted moment with Kamala Harris, in which she mocks him for being white and he nods submissively. Watch:

At the Independent Women&#8217;s Forum, Inez Stepman summed up what we&#8217;re seeing here as well as anyone. She <a href="https://x.com/InezFeltscher/status/1826657669442404789" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>: &#8220;The Tim Walz packaging is meant to present a &#8216;welcoming&#8217; invitation to white men as part of the rainbow coalition: join the DNC, and become merely a joke, not a villain.&#8221; As Stepman put it, Walz is playing the &#8220;bumbling, useless, non-threatening white dad in your typical corporate commercial,&#8221; which is &#8220;the only non-oppressor role for white men available in that worldview. &#8230; Same reason it’s white *dudes* for Harris and not white *men* &#8211; the latter too dignified, too threatening, there must be an air of degradation and court jester to the thing.&#8221;
This is what Democrats are now presenting as &#8220;what it means to be a man.&#8221; Here&#8217;s a top Democrat in the Michigan state senate to explain:

No one on the Right, anywhere, has stated that being a man means you don&#8217;t care about your family. Nobody — at least no conservative — has ever suggested that real men don’t love their daughters. In fact we have always said exactly the opposite. It’s the Left that condemned such ideas as paternalistic and patriarchal. But if you&#8217;re not buying the Tim Walz pitch, there&#8217;s always Doug Emhoff, who was just forced to admit (many years after the fact) that he cheated on his first wife by having an affair with the nanny. He also refused to say what happened to his child after he got the nanny pregnant — stating only that he went through &#8220;tough times,&#8221; because everything is always about him. This is apparently another paragon of masculinity, according to Politico. They <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/08/21/doug-emhoff-dnc-speech-kamala-harris-00175319" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>: &#8220;Meet Doug Emhoff: Dad-in-Chief. The second gentleman’s words aimed to humanize Harris as not just a policymaker, but a successful woman who balances her career and family. &#8230; The White House might be getting a wife guy as the country’s first-ever &#8216;first gentleman.'&#8221;
Yes, Doug Emhoff is a &#8220;Dad-in-chief.&#8221; He&#8217;s a real &#8220;wife guy,&#8221; for cheating on his wife and lying about it for years. Time Magazine agrees. They reported on what they called &#8220;The Doug Emhoff model of masculinity.&#8221; They <a href="https://time.com/7013458/doug-emhoff-dnc-speech-masculinity/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>, after Emhoff&#8217;s speech at the DNC, that: &#8220;It was a relief to have an alternative model of manliness to admire and aspire to than the one often projected on the culture.&#8221;
These media organizations, like the Democrat Party that controls them, know exactly what they&#8217;re doing here. They know that Doug Emhoff and Tim Walz are not presenting an &#8220;alternative model of manliness&#8221; at all. They are in fact projecting the exact opposite of &#8220;manliness&#8221; because they want to destroy the concept of manliness entirely. They are projecting cowardice and submissiveness because cowardly and submissive men are their core constituency. That&#8217;s why, in the span of just 60 years, the so-called &#8220;Soft American&#8221; has gone from the bane of Democrat Party, to their model for America.

Attendees at the Democratic National Convention interviewed by The Daily Wire were left tripping over their words when asked why they think Senator <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jd-vance">JD Vance</a> (R-OH) is weird.
Almost immediately after former President Donald Trump announced Vance would be his running mate, key Democratic leaders <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dems-try-to-paint-jd-vance-as-weird-talk-about-projection">began to push</a> the talking point that Vance is “weird,” including Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
But when asked the simple question of “why is JD Vance weird?” interviewees struggled to find an answer, or else pointed to a vulgar internet lie involving Vance and a couch that has been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jake-tapper-slams-walz-for-repeating-gross-smear-targeting-jd-vance">repeated</a> by Walz.

One older woman said the &#8220;Hillbilly Elegy&#8221; author is weird because he “doesn’t understand any common people.”
“I don’t know what makes him weird,” another woman honestly said after taking a long pause to contemplate the question.
Another man said he doesn’t like to use the term weird, while a third pointed to his belief that Vance wears eyeliner and is angry.
“He’s like— he’s weird because he is a — he’s fake—I mean he,” one young man covered in pro-Harris buttons told The Daily Wire, stumbling over his words. 
“He has to like to defend his wife’s integrity because his party is like full of white supremacists, that’s pretty weird,” the young man added.
“Shouldn’t he be defending his wife? Isn’t that a good thing?” The Daily Wire asked.
“It is a good thing,” the man responded. After a few more questions pushing him to find an answer, the man with the buttons landed on the fact that Vance is weird because the “MAGA Republican” he supports are weird.
One keffiyeh-clad man failed to give a reason why Vance is weird, but said Trump is weird because he dictated “who is black and who is not black,” referring to Trump criticizing Harris for what he believes is only recently leaning into her African American heritage.
When asked his thoughts on President Joe Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bidens-tense-you-aint-black-interview-goes-viral-sparks-backlash">once stating</a> “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black,” the man said he did not recall it ever happening.
A few interviewees said they believe it is weird that Vance disliked Trump during the 2016 election but now supports him.
“Anyone that can change on a dime like a chameleon like that, that’s f’ing weird,” said a man sporting a shirt covered in pictures of Walz’s face.
Vance <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jd-vance-democrats-calling-me-weird-is-a-lot-of-projection-by-them">responded</a> to the coordinated smear campaign in a Fox News interview earlier this month, calling it “projection” from people who are weird themselves.
“I think that it’s a lot of projection, frankly, Maria, from people who want to give transgender hormones to 9-year-old kids and want biological males to play in women’s sports,” Vance said. “Look, I’m a husband, I’m a father, I’m happily married, and I love my life, and I am doing this because I want to be a good public servant who fixes the problems of the Democrats.”
He added that the “middle school taunts don’t bother” him.

At first glance, Vice President Kamala Harris has little in common with Eva Perón, the controversial first lady of Argentina popularly known as “Evita.” But a closer look reveals one alarming similarity.
Over 70 years ago, Evita and her husband, Argentina’s president Juan Perón held power by showering their fellow citizens with benefits and tanking the economy. The Peróns threw (figurative) candy off the palace balcony to the masses below, while distracting them from the consequences of irresponsible fiscal policy.
Last year, inflation in Argentina was at 140%. Poverty was at 40%. Half the country was receiving some kind of public payment. After seven decades of Peronism, the Argentines had finally had enough. They elected economist Javier Milei on a promise to shrink government, privatize state companies, and liberalize trade.
Here in los Estados Unidos, we seem not to have taken this lesson to heart.
President Biden used COVID as an excuse to give us the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act — which, despite the names, poured printed trillions into the money supply. This, <a href="https://www.heritage.org/budget-and-spending/commentary/inflation-will-stick-around-long-the-big-spenders-do" target="_blank" rel="noopener">economists tell us</a>, is the basic cause of inflation. More money chasing the same amount of stuff means higher prices.
Then there was the student loan giveaway, where hundreds of billions in borrowers’ liability, regardless of the quality of their degree or ability to pay, were transferred to you and me. The Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional, but the administration continued regardless.
There was also a pension bailout. Biden used $36 billion in taxpayer funds to <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/12/08/fact-sheet-president-biden-announces-historic-relief-to-protect-hard-earned-pensions-of-hundreds-of-thousands-of-union-workers-and-retirees/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bail out</a> 350,000 participants in underfunded private plans. But what the White House called “helping to ensure a dignified retirement for all American workers” means all the other taxpayers bailing out badly-managed union funds. Nationalizing private losses creates more moral hazard, as feckless managers face no consequences for failure.
When it comes to immigration, Biden has doled out candy like no other president before him—a policy that Harris, his “border czar,” shows every sign of continuing if she succeeds him.
There’s been billions in <a href="https://www.fema.gov/grants/preparedness/shelter-services-program/fy24-awards" target="_blank" rel="noopener">FEMA grants given to charities</a> that relocate inadmissible aliens throughout the country, and to the Biden-supporting cities and states that house them for “free.”
There’s Temporary Protected Status, where the government “temporarily” declares a given country’s illegal aliens off limits for enforcement. This lasts 18 months, but then is renewed over and over. Some countries’ nationals have had TPS for <a href="https://www.uscis.gov/humanitarian/temporary-protected-status/temporary-protected-status-designated-country-el-salvador" target="_blank" rel="noopener">decades</a>.
Then there’s Biden’s bogus immigration <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2023/01/13/a-legal-immigrants-lament-bidens-parole-scheme-makes-patsies-of-those-who-abide-by-law/">parole-a-palooza</a> programs that cover whole countries and millions of inadmissible or illegal aliens. The latest is “<a href="https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/biden-weighs-giving-legal-status-to-immigrant-spouses-of-u-s-citizens-04277843" target="_blank" rel="noopener">parole in place</a>,” which could apply to a million or more illegal aliens married to U.S. citizens. Like other Biden “lawful pathways” around immigration limits set by Congress, this one is wide open to fraud.
There’s Deferred Enforced Departure for illegally present <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2024/02/14/memorandum-on-the-deferred-enforced-departure-for-certain-palestinians/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Palestinians</a> (and <a href="https://www.uscis.gov/humanitarian/deferred-enforced-departure" target="_blank" rel="noopener">others</a>), which means although a foreign national has had all due process, the Biden-Harris administration just decides not to enforce judgement.
The administration is also <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/04/29/biden-border-bill-next-00154839">considering</a> expanding the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/sites/default/files/pages/attachments/2015/07/24/eoir42b.pdf">Cancellation of Removal</a> program to people who have lived in the U.S. for over 10 years and have citizen relatives who would “suffer hardship” if they were deported. They’re unlikely to set the hardship bar too high.
There’s <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2023/04/26/biden-invites-more-illegal-immigrants-by-proposing-free-health-care-at-your-expense/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">taxpayer subsidized Medicaid and Obamacare</a> for DACA (Obama’s “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” program). To achieve this, Biden’s <a href="https://public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2023-08635.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">proposed rule</a> considers DACA beneficiaries “lawfully present” for the purposes of health benefits, though the justification for the “deferred action” against them is that they are unlawfully present. It’s pretzel logic.
The <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1Ez3LZOgUQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emerging</a> Harris agenda builds off the Biden years by bringing a bigger bag of candy to the balcony and throwing it off even faster. She wants to:
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Give illegal aliens an “earned <a href="https://www.npr.org/2024/08/18/nx-s1-5008844/democratic-national-convention-harris-policy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pathway</a> to citizenship” (amnesty);</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“eliminate” medical debt (by transferring it to the rest of us);</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">give first-time house buyers $25,000 and $40 billion in subsidies tax credits for builders;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">give parents a $6,000 “tax credit” (even if they pay no tax);</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">ban “price-gouging” for groceries, and</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">cap prescription drug costs.</li>
</ul>
 The last two ideas are known as “price controls.” Reason magazine <a href="https://reason.com/2024/08/19/kamal-harris-dishonest-and-stupid-price-control-proposal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">calls</a> them “dishonest and stupid.” Or as Federal Reserve economist Chris Neely more politely <a href="https://www.stlouisfed.org/publications/regional-economist/2022/mar/why-price-controls-should-stay-history-books#authorbox" target="_blank" rel="noopener">writes</a>, an “analysis of history show that broad price controls would be costly and of limited effectiveness.”
Harris <a href="https://mailchi.mp/press.kamalaharris.com/vice-president-harris-lays-out-agenda-to-lower-costs-for-american-families">says</a> she will do all this while “reducing the deficit and strengthening our fiscal health.” You see, she will throw all the candy out of the basket, but the basket magically refills. It’s the miracle of the loaves and fishes, with faith not in God but Big Government.
Tax expert Daniel Hemel <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2024/08/16/kamala-harris-2024-policy-child-tax-credit/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">thinks</a> Harris has “made the correct calculus that sacrificing on fiscal policy for a few hundred thousand middle-class voters in the battleground states is worth it.”
Maybe so. And who wants to be the politician running against Evita and the free candy? What’s certain is that, though the candy continues to rain on our heads, it is never free.
