The CEO of the Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue was a font of absolutely no information during a Capitol Hill hearing on Wednesday.
Regina Wallace-Jones gave the same answer to every question — invoking her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination — throughout the hearing, provoking a shocked response from Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) when she offered the same response to a question about her name.

&#8220;On the advice of my counsel, I respectfully decline to answer this question pursuant to my Fifth Amendment rights under the Constitution,&#8221; Wallace-Jones replied, prompting a few laughs in the room.
&#8220;Okay, wow! Okay, didn’t, uh … expect that one,&#8221; Loudermilk reacted in surprise.
But Wallace-Jones also refused to answer the more substantive questions — including a series of questions from Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) about whether ActBlue had allowed illegal foreign donations to pass through the platform or had weakened fraud safeguards to help Democrats.

Jordan, pushing back on claims from Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) that the hearing was more of a political performance than substance, pointed out that statements from ActBlue&#8217;s former legal counsel had prompted the hearing.
As laid out in a <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/media/in-the-news/actblue-employees-took-fifth-house-depositions-146-times">press release</a> from the House Judiciary Committee in April, former ActBlue general counsel Darrin Hurwitz, ex-director and associate general counsel Aaron Ting, and former counsel Zain Ahmad all parted ways with ActBlue after warning that unspecified changes to fraud standards could leave the political action committee and fundraising platform open to legal risks.
In the investigation that followed, ActBlue employees invoked their 5th Amendment rights at least 146 times — and Wallace-Jones did the same throughout her hearing on Wednesday, declining to answer questions such as:

<li>&#8220;How many foreign contributions did ACTBlue accept?&#8221;</li>

<li>&#8220;Did your legal team quit because of reduced fraud standards?&#8221;</li>
<li>&#8220;Did you weaken your fraud standards to help Democrats?&#8221;</li>

&#8220;The crux of this misconduct is simple: ActBlue appears to have accepted illegal foreign donations en masse and tried to cover it up, lying to and withholding information from Congress in the process,&#8221; the Judiciary Committee&#8217;s report concluded.

A bitter public feud between Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) and Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner is exposing growing fractures within the Democratic Party as left-wing activists and establishment figures increasingly find themselves at odds ahead of the 2026 midterms.
The latest clash erupted Sunday when Platner, speaking at a town hall in Maine, referred to Fetterman with a profanity while discussing lawmakers he would potentially work alongside in Washington. &#8220;The Senate really is a place of relationships,&#8221; Platner <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/platner-calls-fetterman-a-hole-town-hall-democratic-feud-heats-up">told supporters</a>. &#8220;You can&#8217;t just go down there and be John Fetterman and just sort of be an a**hole.&#8221;
When audience members reacted, Platner doubled down, adding, &#8220;He&#8217;s said mean things about me, I&#8217;m allowed to say that.&#8221;
The comments marked the latest escalation in a war of words that has increasingly become a proxy battle over the future direction of the Democratic Party.
Fetterman has emerged as one of Platner&#8217;s most vocal Democratic critics in recent weeks, repeatedly attacking the Maine progressive over a growing list of controversies that have dogged his Senate campaign. &#8220;What kind of a creeper has spent a decade on a platform like Kik, and send a dozen explicit kinds of messages and who knows what else?&#8221; Fetterman said during a recent CNN interview. In another appearance, Fetterman argued that Democrats were supporting Platner primarily because of party loyalty rather than enthusiasm for the candidate himself. &#8220;If they&#8217;d just be honest, they&#8217;d say, &#8216;Well, the only thing I can say about him is, well, he&#8217;s a Democrat,'&#8221; Fetterman <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2026/06/06/politics/video/fetterman-roasts-maines-dem-senate-candidate">said</a>. &#8220;He&#8217;s not really technically a Democrat — in his own words, he said, &#8216;I&#8217;m a communist socialist.'&#8221;
Platner has fired back repeatedly, accusing Fetterman of abandoning progressive principles and aligning himself with more moderate and pro-Israel factions within the party. Over the weekend, Platner <a href="https://x.com/grahamformaine/status/2063395224592761326">wrote</a> on X that Fetterman had become &#8220;a stooge for AIPAC and the Republican Party,&#8221; highlighting one of the major ideological fault lines driving the dispute.

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt has received donations from some of Hollywood’s most prominent Democrat supporters despite running on a platform that leans heavily on conservative talking points.
It was revealed earlier this month that major Democrat donors Haim and Cheryl Saban, billionaires who have a major financial impact on the party, donated the maximum amount of $1,800 to Pratt. 
Nicole Avant, another prominent Democrat supporter and wife of Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, has also pledged to support Pratt for mayor. So has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nba-champ-dunks-on-karen-bass-bets-on-spencer-pratt-to-win-la-mayoral-race">Jeanie Buss</a>, the Lakers’ minority owner and franchise governor, who also made the max donation of $1,800 to Pratt’s campaign.
As The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/14/business/dealbook/spencer-pratt-ceo-support.html">reported</a>, Elliot Grainge, the CEO of Atlantic Records and Sofia Richie&#8217;s husband, also made a donation to Pratt’s campaign. So did billionaire financier Dan Loeb and former CEO of Activision Blizzard Bobby Kotick; Jeffrey Sprecher, CEO of Intercontinental Exchange and chairman of the New York Stock Exchange; and cryptocurrency entrepreneurs Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.
The former reality star, a registered Republican who said he voted for Trump in 2024, has publicly stated that he doesn’t identify with either party.
“All my supporters in Los Angeles are Democrats,” he <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/spencer-pratt-compares-fledgling-political-career-to-obama-national-rise/">told</a> CBS. “Everyone I know, my family, are all Democrats.” 
The mayoral hopeful <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/spencer-pratt-compares-fledgling-political-career-to-obama-national-rise/">told</a> NBC earlier this month, “I do not represent a party. I don’t have a campaign manager. I don’t have campaign consultants. There’s no political party backing me.”
The former &#8220;Hills&#8221; star is polling second behind Bass ahead of the June 2 primary. While Pratt’s odds of winning have increased dramatically in recent months, he still faces an uphill battle in the Democrat stronghold. The last time a Republican won a mayoral race in Los Angeles was in 1997.
Pratt <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nba-champ-dunks-on-karen-bass-bets-on-spencer-pratt-to-win-la-mayoral-race">reportedly</a> raised $2.72 million between April 19 and May 16, per statements obtained by the Los Angeles Times, moving his total to $3.26 million in contributions. Mayor Bass reported only $283,000 during that same period, boosting her total to $3.13 million. As of May 16, Raman hasn&#8217;t hit the $1 million mark in contributions.

That’s not the opening line of a reality show. It’s part of a congressional campaign bio.
Michigan Democrat Shelby Campbell is going viral online after <a href="https://x.com/MarioNawfal/status/2056173673212788901">videos</a> showing her twerking on a kitchen counter exploded across social media just months before the state’s August primary election. And depending on who you ask, she’s either the future of “authentic” politics or a flashing warning sign of what happens when TikTok culture collides headfirst with Congress.

The 32-year-old single mother and law student is running to represent Michigan’s 13th Congressional District, and she’s making it very clear she has zero interest in looking like a polished, traditional politician.
“I’m not here to pretend I’m perfect,” Campbell says directly on her campaign website.
That much is obvious.
The videos sparked immediate backlash and endless memes online, with conservative accounts roasting the clips as others rushed to defend her. Social media quickly turned the race into a full-blown internet spectacle, with critics mocking the campaign as influencer culture dressed up as public service.
But Campbell doesn’t seem interested in hiding from any of it. In fact, her entire campaign appears built around leaning into her past and presenting herself as unfiltered.
Her website also features four mugshots alongside her biography. She talks about previously working as a bartender, server, certified nursing assistant, and autoworker. She says she sold her car, rides a scooter, and uses public transportation. She also highlights being a first-generation college graduate who attended Wayne State University and studies law at Detroit Mercy.
And then there’s this line: “I’m not a regular politician, I’m an honest politician.”
To critics watching the videos circulate online, the pitch sounded less like honesty and more like an attempt to turn personal chaos into political branding.
Still, the message is clearly aimed at voters tired of perfectly scripted politicians pretending they’ve never made mistakes.
Others argued the campaign reflects a deeper cultural shift where going viral now matters more than appearing qualified to hold public office, and where internet clout can generate more attention than policy positions ever could.
Campbell argues she understands everyday struggles because she’s lived them herself. Her district, she notes, is heavily working class, with many residents employed in retail, healthcare, automotive, and service industries.

An 83-year-old Democrat lawmaker from Florida has missed over 40 straight House votes and was caught recycling old photos on social media this week as she faces questions about her recent voting record. 
Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) has missed 43 straight House roll call votes and has not voted since April 17, according to official voting tallies. Wilson’s recent voting history was <a href="https://x.com/jamiedupree/status/2054710645514232177">first flagged</a> on Wednesday by veteran Capitol Hill reporter Jaime Dupree. The Daily Wire reached out to Wilson’s office and asked why she has not voted in nearly a month. 
Dupree also noted that Wilson, who represents portions of Miami, posted a picture on her congressional X account on May 12 that featured a photo first posted to her account on October 4, 2025.

The Daily Wire also asked Wilson’s office why she was recycling social media posts. 
Wilson’s office has published just one press release since she last voted. That release condemned the Supreme Court’s decision to end requirements for black-majority congressional districts. 
“This decision is a setback for voting rights and fair representation. Full stop,” she said. “Let me be clear. For generations, people fought, marched, and even died for the right to vote in this country. The Voting Rights Act of 1965 was supposed to protect that right and make sure communities that were shut out of power finally had a fair chance to be heard.”

FBI Director Kash Patel ratcheted up his fight with Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen on Tuesday, posting on social media an expensive tab run up by the Democrat senator’s campaign at a swanky bar in Washington, D.C.

“The only person that ran up a $7,000 bar tab in Washington, D.C., at the Lobby Bar was you. The only individual in this room that has been drinking on the taxpayer dime during the day is you,” Patel said during the hearing.

A spokesman for Van Hollen <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/kash-patel-chris-van-hollen-trade-alcohol-allegations-senate-hearing-rcna344804">told</a> NBC that “this was a catering charge at a local restaurant where the Senator hosted an after-hours holiday reception as a thank you to the 50+ members of our team, paid for by campaign funds — not taxpayer dollars.”
During Tuesday’s hearing, Van Hollen attacked Patel over allegations of drinking on the job. 
“Director Patel, these reports about your conduct, including reports of your being so drunk and hungover that your staff had to force entry into your home, are extremely alarming,” Van Hollen said.
“So, there have been no occasions when your security detail had difficulty waking or locating you?” Van Hollen asked Patel.
“Nope, it’s a total farce. I don’t even know where you get this stuff, but it doesn’t make it credible, because you say so,” Patel fired back. 
Patel filed a defamation lawsuit against The Atlantic over its report featuring anonymous sources accusing the FBI director of having a drinking problem. In response to Van Hollen’s accusations, Patel hit back by pointing to a photo posted by El Salavador President Nayib Bukele <a href="https://x.com/nayibbukele/status/1913028548001923259">showing</a> the Democrat senator seated next to accused MS-13 member Kilmar Abrego Garcia at a table with what appear to be margaritas.
Bukele captioned the photo by saying that Abrego Garica was “sipping margaritas with Sen. Van Hollen in the tropical paradise of El Salvador.”

Unlike the failed, blood-soaked revolutions of France or Russia — fueled by the exact brand of class envy AOC propagates — the American founding wasn&#8217;t predicated on pillaging the successful.

Maryland Democratic Governor Wes Moore signaled support this week for allowing minors to pursue sex change procedures, comments that could complicate Moore’s emerging reputation as a more culturally moderate Democrat ahead of the 2028 presidential cycle.
During an interview on the &#8220;PBD Podcast&#8221; this week, host Patrick Bet-David asked Moore how he would respond if his 12-year-old son came to him wanting to transition genders and whether he would advise waiting until adulthood. Moore initially emphasized parental support and involvement, saying he would want his child to feel “safe in his own skin” and know he had “a partner in me to help him along that journey.”
But when pressed directly on whether he would tell his son to wait until turning 18, Moore declined. “If this is how he is feeling, and I feel like I’m closely tied to him, I’m not gonna advise him on something that he feels,” Moore responded before reiterating that he would want to remain involved in the process.
“I’m not going to condemn him, nor castigate him. I’m not going to kick him out of the house. I’m not going to do anything that’s going to hurt him,” Moore added.

Michigan Senate Democratic candidate Mallory McMorrow said on Sunday that deleting thousands of tweets trashing rural America reflects her authenticity rather than an effort to hide her past.
<a href="https://www.cnn.com/2026/04/29/politics/kfile-mallory-mcmorrow-deleted-tweets">A CNN report</a> this week found that the Senate hopeful had deleted about 6,000 tweets — including posts mocking Middle America and bending the truth about where she was living, working, and voting. 
In a recent autobiography, McMorrow said she moved to Michigan in 2014, but on social media, she described herself as a California resident in 2016 and voted in California’s June 2016 primary, according to CNN. 
 Reporter Manu Raju pressed McMorrow on the contradictions. 
 “And I don’t need to tell you, but of course, you’re required to vote in the state where you’re a resident. So why were you voting in California two years after moving to Michigan?” Raju asked.
 &#8220;Like a lot of millennials, moving takes time,&#8221; McMorrow said, describing a &#8220;two-year process&#8221; before settling in Michigan from Southern California. &#8220;I registered to vote in Michigan in August of 2016 and voted in the general election in November that year.&#8221;
 McMorrow dodged when asked whether she should have voted in California while claiming to live in Michigan.
&#8220;We still had our place out in Southern California, and as I mentioned, we had multiple jobs. Moving is ugly. I wish we could have just up and moved in one fell swoop, but that&#8217;s not the case, just like it is for a lot of people,&#8221; she said. 
 Raju noted that in 2024, McMorrow criticized another Twitter user for voting in Michigan after moving to California.
 &#8220;You called it illegal then,&#8221; Raju told McMorrow. 
 &#8220;Yeah, absolutely, if you are doing that intentionally, after moving permanently to a place that is illegal,&#8221; she said.

In another tweet, McMorrow drew comparisons between Nazi Germany and the Trump Administration, a view she still holds today. 
“Do you personally see parallels between Nazi Germany and what’s happening under the Trump administration?” Manu Raju asked her.
&#8220;Yeah, I do. It is deeply concerning that we see an authoritarian slide,&#8221; McMorrow said. &#8220;I don&#8217;t think that a lot of people would argue that there are shades of authoritarianism here that we need to be deeply concerned about.&#8221; 
The winner of the divided Democratic primary, which also includes Abdul El-Sayed and Congresswoman Haley Stevens, will likely face Republican Mike Rogers in the general election.

Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL.) resigned from Congress on Tuesday, just hours before the House Ethics Committee was set to issue a recommendation on whether she should be expelled.
The resignation, which takes effect immediately, follows the bipartisan ethics panel finding that Cherfilus-McCormick committed <a href="https://apnews.com/article/congress-ethics-cherfilusmccormick-516fe4e2159beda8c8576c736547b53d">25 ethics violations</a>, including breaking campaign finance laws. In November 2025, the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/south-florida-congresswoman-charged-stealing-5-million-fema-funds-and-making-illegal">Department of Justice</a> indicted the congresswoman for allegedly stealing $5 million in federal disaster relief funds to finance her campaign.
&#8220;This was not a fair process,&#8221; Cherfilus-McCormick <a href="https://x.com/CongresswomanSC/status/2046649247408288135?s=20">said in a statement.</a> &#8220;The Ethics committee refused my new attorney&#8217;s reasonable request for time to prepare my defense. By going forward with this process while a criminal indictment is pending, the Committee prevented me from defending myself.&#8221;
&#8220;I will not stand by and pretend this has been anything other than a witch hunt,&#8221; she added.
Last week, a federal judge in Miami postponed Cherfilus-McCormick&#8217;s criminal fraud trial until February 2027, citing a <a href="https://foxbaltimore.com/news/nation-world/florida-congresswoman-sheila-cherfilus-mccormick-5-million-criminal-case-delayed-until-february-2027-wire-fraud-money-laundering-crime-congresswomans-brother-edwin-cherfilus">trove of evidence</a> still under review.
Cherfilus-McCormick is the third House member to resign since April 13. Former representatives Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Tony Gonzales (R-TX) resigned following sex and misconduct scandals.
Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne (R-TX), who was a local representative for 12 years, described a disconnect between Washington elites and everyday Americans.
&#8220;People know where you shop. They know where you eat. They know where your kids go to school. They know where you go to church. And I would just never think to do some of this stuff,&#8221; Duyne said in an interview with The Daily Wire on Tuesday. &#8220;The further away you get, I guess, from your constituents, the more you think you can get away with it.&#8221;

Democratic California Congressman Eric Swalwell faces sexual misconduct accusations from three additional women after one of his former staffers <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/eric-swalwell-accused-of-sexual-assault-by-former-staffer?topStoryPosition=undefined&amp;author=Cameron+Arcand&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=2&amp;row=1&amp;rowHeadline=Top+Stories&amp;rowType=Top+Stories&amp;title=Eric+Swalwell+Accused+Of+Sexual+Assault+By+Former+Staffer">came forward</a> on Friday and alleged that she was raped by the lawmaker while she was drunk.
After the first accuser went public with her allegations, three more women told CNN that Swalwell made unwanted advances on them or sent them unsolicited sexual messages. Ally Sammarco, a Democratic content creator, told CNN that she received nude messages from Swalwell after they connected over social media.
“I truly never thought he would respond – I had like 1,000 followers at the time,” Sammarco said. &#8220;And he actually responded.&#8221;
Another woman accused Swalwell of kissing her and touching her leg without her consent while they sat together at a bar.
Swalwell, who is leading a crowded Democratic primary for California governor in multiple polls, denied the allegations.
&#8220;These allegations are false and come on the eve of an election against the front-runner for governor,” Swalwell said. “For nearly 20 years, I have served the public – as a prosecutor and a congressman and have always protected women. I will defend myself with the facts and where necessary bring legal action. My focus in the coming days is to be with my wife and children and defend our decades of service against these lies.”
Earlier on Friday, one of Swalwell&#8217;s former staffers accused the Democrat of sexually assaulting her on two separate occasions, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The woman shared medical records with CNN that are reportedly related to her getting tested for an STD and pregnancy after the alleged sexual assault. She also told family members and friends of the alleged assault in 2024 shortly after she says that Swalwell raped her.
Swalwell has also denied those allegations, and his attorneys sent his former staffer a cease-and-desist letter.
Swalwell&#8217;s Democratic allies have expressed shock following the report and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/swalwells-dem-buddies-flee-like-rats-after-sexual-assault-allegation?author=Cameron+Arcand&amp;category=undefined&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=3&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+News&amp;rowType=Vertical+Carousel&amp;title=Swalwell%E2%80%99s+Dem+Buddies+Flee+Like+Rats+After+Sexual+Assault+Allegation">pulled their support</a> for his gubernatorial bid following the accusations.
“I have read the San Francisco Chronicle’s account and I am deeply distressed by its allegations. This woman was brave to come forward, and we should take her story seriously,” Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) posted to X on Friday.
“I am withdrawing my endorsement immediately, and believe that he should withdraw from the race,” he added.
The California Teachers Association, a powerful union in the Golden State, called on the congressman to end his gubernatorial bid.
“The allegations are incredibly disturbing and unacceptable against Rep. Swalwell. We are immediately suspending our support. Our elected board will be meeting as soon as possible to follow our union’s democratic process to determine next steps,” the union wrote.
After the accusations, Swalwell&#8217;s odds to become the next California governor tanked to just 15% after hovering around 50%, <a href="https://x.com/kalshi/status/2042716803625853119?s=46&amp;t=5nB3R1hthzMlYMrXjZyN8Q">according</a> to Kalshi prediction markets.

A leftist&#8217;s attempt to get on the ballot in Ohio as a Republican was shot down by the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday.
Samuel Ronan, who previously ran for chair of the Democratic National Committee, filed to run for Ohio&#8217;s 15th Congressional District and challenge Republican Rep. Mike Carey in the GOP primary. Ronan admitted his candidacy was part of a ploy to run Democrats in &#8220;deep red&#8221; districts, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/supreme-court-blocks-candidate-after-alleged-gop-infiltration-scheme-exposed?lid=h4ig0qgow6sl">reported</a>.
In one social media post, Ronan <a href="https://www.courthousenews.com/supreme-court-keeps-former-dnc-candidate-off-ohio-gop-primary-ballot/">wrote</a>, “Leftists need to infiltrate Republican spaces and primary them.”
The leftist candidate was tossed from the GOP primary ballot by Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, who called Ronan&#8217;s attempt to run as a Republican &#8220;political transgenderism.&#8221; Chief U.S. District Judge Sarah D. Morrison upheld LaRose&#8217;s decision, saying that Ronan&#8217;s declaration to run as a Republican was fraudulent. The Supreme Court refused to intervene in the case on Thursday, with none of the justices dissenting from the decision to keep the lower court&#8217;s order in place.
&#8220;This is political transgenderism, and it’s a longstanding problem with Ohio’s primary process,&#8221; LaRose <a href="https://x.com/FrankLaRose/status/2042371793080529073">said</a>. &#8220;We had to go all the way to the nation’s highest court to fight a blatant attempt by a self-declared Democrat to hijack a Republican primary contest.&#8221;
When he declared to run as a Republican, Ronan also promised to abide by the Republican Party&#8217;s principles, and his candidacy was certified by the Franklin County Board of Elections in February. Ohio Republican voter Mark Schare, however, noticed that Ronan had publicly expressed his intention to run in the GOP primary while still pushing leftist views and filed a protest with the elections board.
LaRose stepped in to toss Ronan off the ballot after the Franklin County Board of Elections tied along party lines in a vote to decide whether Ronan could stay on the ballot.
“As required by Ohio law, Ronan declared that he was ‘a member of the Republican Party’ and if elected he would ‘support and abide by the principles enunciated by the Republican Party,’&#8221; LaRose wrote. &#8220;But even after signing this form, Ronan continued to push his vision that Democrats like himself should primary Republicans in deep-red districts to ‘get a foot in the door.’”
Ronan denied that his candidacy was &#8220;some kind of trick&#8221; and mentioned that Republican Presidents Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump were also former Democrats. Ronan&#8217;s attorney claimed that Rep. Carey was allowed to &#8220;surreptitiously sabotage Ronan’s ballot access by secretly enlisting the Ohio Republican Party to protest Ronan.” The attorney also argued that one of the election board members should have recused herself since she is a top official in the Ohio Republican Party.
LaRose called for Ohio to adopt a closed primary system, which requires voters to register with a party before they cast a ballot. Ohio&#8217;s current primary system is partially open, meaning that voters are not required to register with a party before the election, but they must request either a Republican or Democratic ballot.
&#8220;This individual took advantage of an open primary process that’s far too vulnerable to trickery and fraud and used it to advance his dishonest campaign to &#8216;run Democrats as Republicans,'&#8221; LaRose added. &#8220;We stopped it this time, but it’s time to adopt a closed primary process and partisan voter registration before this happens again.&#8221;
