<p>Congressman Maxwell Frost says he was the victim of a racially motivated attack at a Hollywood party late Friday night, when a party crasher punched him in the face after saying President Donald Trump would &#8220;deport&#8221; him.</p>
<p>The Florida Democrat claimed he was assaulted at the Park City High West Saloon during the Creative Artists Agency&#8217;s (CAA) Sundance Film Festival party.</p>
<p>&#8220;Last night, I was assaulted by a man at Sundance Festival who told me that Trump was going to deport me before he punched me in the face. He was heard screaming racist remarks as he drunkenly ran off,&#8221; Frost wrote in an <a href="https://x.com/repmaxwellfrost/status/2015210347758825698">X post</a>. &#8220;The individual was arrested and I am okay. Thank you to the venue security and Park City PD for assistance on this incident.&#8221;</p>
<p>According to that report, the suspect had crashed the CAA party and &#8220;shocked&#8221; partygoers in the venue&#8217;s restroom by ranting about how proud he was of being white. The Park City Police Department issued a statement identifying the suspect as Christian Young and stating that Young had been detained after he &#8220;unlawfully entered a private party.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Once inside the saloon, Young assaulted Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost and a female who was attending the private event,&#8221; the police statement continued, noting that Young had been apprehended with an administrative pass to the film festival that had someone else&#8217;s name on it, and that he had attempted to gain access to the party and had jumped a barrier fence when he was turned away. He jumped back over the fence when he was spotted, but reportedly jumped it a second time and managed to gain access without being seen.</p>
<p>When he was apprehended, Young <a href="https://www.fox13now.com/news/crime/man-arrested-for-allegedly-punching-florida-congressman-at-sundance-film-festival-event">reportedly</a> told police that he had no recollection of what had happened and could not recall his own name — despite answering to that name when police addressed him. The 28-year-old was charged with two counts of assault and one count of aggravated burglary.</p>
<p>Critics were not entirely convinced by the story, however, recalling actor Jussie Smollett&#8217;s false claims about a racially motivated attack in January 2019. Dozens of replies contained references to Smollett and claims that Frost was making up his story.</p>
<p>Witnesses, according to Salt Lake City&#8217;s Fox affiliate, corroborated Frost&#8217;s story and recalled Young saying, &#8220;we are going to deport you and your kind.&#8221; Witnesses also say Young approached a woman with Frost and told her &#8220;you are the kind we are going to deport.&#8221;</p>

<p>From tax hikes and lax election laws to leaf blower bans and Second Amendment infringements, Virginia Democrats have wasted no time implementing their radical agenda upon returning to power.</p>
<p>With newly inaugurated Governor Abigail Spanberger at the helm, Virginia Democrats also control both chambers of the state legislature, meaning many items off their leftist wish lists could actually become law.</p>
<p>At the top of the agenda — and dominating the headlines — seems to be implementing some kind of wealth tax. Lawmakers have already introduced several competing bills that would create new tax brackets with steeper rates for high earners. One bill would nearly double the state income tax rate for Virginians who make over a million dollars a year.</p>
<p>As one prominent Virginia politics X account <a href="https://x.com/NoVA_Campaigns/status/2013073149265347033">noted</a>, these tax hikes could devastate family farms, small businesses, and sole proprietor companies, whose business profits can be taxed as part of their personal income tax returns.</p>
<p>Virginians can also expect to take a hit through a proposed investment income tax, which would levy a 3.8% tax on all income from investments, trusts, and estates beginning in tax year 2027.</p>
<p>Residents of the state will also likely face additional &#8220;sales and use&#8221; taxes, including one proposal to apply state sales tax rates to everything from gym memberships to home repairs and more.</p>
<p>At least two proposed tax bills seem designed to infringe upon Virginians&#8217; Second Amendment rights: one would levy an 11% tax on all firearms and ammunition, and another would implement a flat $500 tax on all firearm suppressors. Other bills would ban &#8220;assault weapons&#8221; and certain magazines, while one would ban the discharge of firearms — even on private property — unless the property in question measures at least five acres.</p>
<p>But taxes are just the tip of the iceberg. The Virginia legislature is also considering a number of bills that would make it difficult to root out voter fraud or increase transparency and election integrity.</p>
<p>One such bill would remove the deadline for receipt of all absentee ballots, and extend the deadline for curing ballots from noon on the third day after the election to one full week after Election Day. Another includes a provision that would allow absentee ballots to be &#8220;received, marked, and cast electronically through the internet.&#8221;</p>
<p>Other proposals would bar election officials from double-checking &#8220;machine-readable&#8221; ballots with a hand count and make it far more difficult for voters to challenge the legality of another voter&#8217;s registration.</p>
<p>In addition to the tax- and election-related bills, Democrats have bills teed up to make the state softer on crime and illegal immigrants while throwing the book at legal residents who only want to exercise their First Amendment rights or do a little bit of yard work.</p>
<p>One bill would <a href="https://lis.blob.core.windows.net/files/1086561.PDF">eliminate mandatory minimum sentences</a> for certain offenses, including but not limited to illegal sales of cigarettes and alcohol, &#8220;certain conduct punishable as involuntary manslaughter,&#8221; and violations of certain provisions of protective orders.</p>
<p>Two bills would help protect illegal immigrants in Virginia — one by barring officials from arresting illegal aliens in courthouses and another by fining employers who pay illegal aliens less than the established minimum wage. The latter bill does not fine businesses for employing illegal aliens.</p>
<p>The First Amendment is not safe either, as SB 137 would make it a crime to approach within eight feet of another person who is standing within 40 feet of an abortion clinic — even if both parties are still standing on public property.</p>
<p>A number of other bills have been proposed to promote a more &#8220;woke&#8221; Virginia, with one stripping tax-exempt status from any organization with ties to &#8220;Confederate&#8221; heritage. Another bill would officially change Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples&#8217; Day, while yet another would ban gas-powered leaf blowers.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s unclear which of these bills will pass and whether or not Spanberger — who ran as a moderate — will sign them. But if these early days of Democratic rule are any indication, Richmond is about to get a whole lot bluer.</p>

<p>Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem hit back at Democratic House Homeland Security committee ranking member Bennie Thompson, who referred to the recent terrorist attack in Washington, D.C., as an &#8220;unfortunate accident&#8221; during a hearing Thursday on Capitol Hill.</p>

<p>The only major primary challenger to Markey next year for the seat is now Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA).</p>
<p>The move comes as the Democratic Party is at a political crossroads in terms of both the age and ideology of candidates it runs. The congresswoman is 51 years old, and Markey is 79. Moulton is even younger at 47, and he’s been an advocate for having different Democratic leadership in the Senate besides Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).</p>
<p>&#8220;Tonight is another example of why we need new leadership. If [Schumer] were an effective leader, he would have united his caucus to vote ‘No’ tonight and hold the line on healthcare. Maybe now [Markey] will finally join me in pledging not to vote for Schumer?&#8221; Moulton posted to X on November 9 when a handful of Senate Democrats voted with Republicans to take steps toward reopening the federal government.</p>
<p>As for Pressley, she is one of the original four members of the far-left “Squad,” which started with Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Pressley, who all took office in 2019.</p>
<p>The debate has manifested most notably when President Joe Biden was swapped out for Vice President Kamala Harris as the 2024 presidential nominee. However, it is also showing up in other places, including the Maine Senate primary between 41-year-old veteran Graham Platner and 77-year-old Gov. Janet Mills.</p>
<p>“Congresswoman Pressley is a powerful fighter for working families and a national leader for her work in Congress,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) posted in response to Pressley’s announcement.</p>
<p>“No one fights harder than [Ayanna Pressley], and she will continue to be a strong, effective voice for Massachusetts,” she added. If Warren opts for re-election, it would not be until 2030, which is the year she turns 81.</p>

<p>A super PAC backing former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo ran a late attack ad portraying Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani standing in front of the Twin Towers as they crashed to the ground on 9/11.</p>
<p>The For Our City ad opens with left-wing streamer Hasan Piker, who had brought Mamdani on as a guest, saying &#8220;Americans deserve 9/11&#8221; while the World Trade Center burst into flames, <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/-andrew-cuomo-super-pac-depicts-zohran-mamdani-front-twin-towers-attac-rcna241651" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to NBC News. Piker has also referred to Jews as “inbred,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2025/10/23/andrew-cuomo-suggests-mamdani-would-cheer-future-terror-attack-00620620" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Politico</a>.</p>
<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s Zohran&#8217;s buddy, Hasan Piker, saying we deserve 9/11. It&#8217;s a disgrace to every life lost,&#8221; the narrator says in the ad.</p>
<p>&#8220;Zohran went on Piker&#8217;s show, and now Piker was just spotted at Zohran&#8217;s event. Mamdani is wrong for New York,&#8221; they add.</p>

<p>Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist, received backlash for appearing on Piker&#8217;s stream in April.</p>

<p>&#8220;I also think that part of the reason why Democrats are in the situation that we are in, of being a permanent minority in this country, is we are looking only to speak to journalists and streamers and Americans with whom we agree [on] every single thing that they say,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg gave For Our City $3.5 million last month and is one of the super PAC&#8217;s biggest donors, according to NBC News.</p>
<p>Mamdani recently faced criticism for focusing a speech about 9/11 on Islamophobia.</p>
<p>“I want to use this moment to speak to the Muslims of New York City,” Mamdani proclaimed at the time. “I want to speak to the memory of my aunt, who stopped taking the subway after September 11 because she did not feel safe in her hijab.”</p>
<p>Cuomo later suggested that Mamdani would celebrate 9/11 if the attacks happened today.</p>
<p>“Can you imagine Mamdani in the seat?” Cuomo asked during an appearance on WABC.</p>
<p>“Yeah, I could,” host Sid Rosenberg replied. “He’d be cheering.”</p>
<p>“That’s another problem,” Cuomo said.</p>
<p>Mamdani later railed against Cuomo, calling his comments &#8220;disgusting.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;This is Andrew Cuomo’s final moments in public life, and he’s choosing to spend them making racist attacks on the person who would be the first Muslim to lead this city,&#8221; Mamdani said during an interview with PIX 11.</p>
<p>“There are more than 1 million Muslims who live in New York City, and to have our faith be smeared and slandered by someone who at one point was considered a leader in the Democratic Party showcases the fact that bigotry and racism is not exclusively a Republican problem. It is also a problem within our own party,” Mamdani said. “It is time that we turned the page on Andrew Cuomo and on those that would tolerate this rhetoric from him.”</p>

So, if it&#8217;s going up anyway, what&#8217;s the point of continuing to take a stand for people&#8217;s healthcare not to go up?&#8221; he said during Monday’s episode of “The Breakfast Club.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Contributor Mimi Brown agreed, mentioning that people have already received information from healthcare providers about their revised premiums because open enrollment has already occurred.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;And the premiums are set for a year,&#8221; Charlamagne added. &#8220;So at this point, if the premiums have already gone up, if they’re set for a year, at least give the people some relief and get the government back open.&#8221;</span></p>

<p>That first line was yet another messaging gem for Republicans who have argued that Democrats do not care about whether the shutdown is hurting Americans, and he drew criticism from not only Vice President JD Vance and a slew of other angry Republicans, but also the president himself.</p>

<p>The White House put out messaging promptly on Thursday morning arguing that the &#8220;disgusting claim&#8221; is a &#8220;sickening display of elitist indifference&#8221; as the shutdown &#8220;plunges hardworking Americans into anxiety, despair, and financial ruin.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;His arrogance lays bare the Democrats’ sick betrayal of service members missing paychecks, families turning to food pantries to survive, small businesses teetering on the brink, and travelers facing excruciating delays,&#8221; the White House argued.</p>

<p>“Definitely terrifying thinking in my head, ‘Oh God, how are we going to pay for our bills? How are we going to afford our rent? How are we going to pay for her formula, her diapers, everything?’&#8221; said an unnamed military spouse, cited by the White House, whose family is reportedly in crisis as service members go without pay. &#8220;Our military, they’re the ones that sign the government contract to go fight for our country. But our lawmakers who are supposed to be in charge of our country, they aren’t really doing what’s best for the American people.”</p>
<p>The White House messaging also quoted an air traffic controller who must continue fulfilling his job responsibilities without knowing whether he will get his next paycheck: “The financial anxiety doesn’t just hurt morale; it directly affects safety. When someone responsible for thousands of lives a day is worrying about whether they can pay rent or feed their kids, focus suffers. Sometimes that small moment where your mind is elsewhere can have serious impacts. Controllers were already underwater with pay and staffing before the shutdown. Now, we’re drowning.”</p>

<p>The bottom line, the White House argues, is that Americans want the &#8220;Democrat shutdown to end,&#8221; and they &#8220;know Democrats are to blame.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;While federal workers stress over missed paychecks, military families turn to food pantries, and airports around the country face delays — Chuck Schumer and the Democrats are bragging that &#8216;every day gets better&#8217; for them,&#8221; wrote Karoline Leavitt in a scathing post on X. &#8220;What a disgusting and revealing statement.  Democrats are gleeful about inflicting pain on the American people.&#8221;</p>
<p>Schumer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.</p>
<p>The president also argued during his cabinet meeting that Schumer knows he is in deep political trouble, potentially facing an ouster from Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, who continues to assert herself as a leader in the shutdown fight.</p>

<p>In a fundraising email sent on the anniversary of Hamas&#8217; October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed made no mention of the terror group&#8217;s atrocities and blamed Israel for launching &#8220;a ground invasion of Gaza.&#8221;</p>
<p>The email — posted by POLITICO&#8217;s Congressional reporter, Nicholas Wu — was sent on Tuesday as Israel and the United States <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-remembers-october-7-most-brutal-terrorist-attack-in-israels-history">remembered</a> the 1,200 lives lost when Hamas terrorists crossed the Israeli border and killed men, women, and children. The email sent out by El-Sayed&#8217;s campaign began, &#8220;Two years ago this month, Netanyahu&#8217;s military launched a ground invasion of Gaza. Since then, the world has watched tragedy unfold in real time.&#8221;</p>
<p>The email then went on to condemn Israel&#8217;s military strikes in Gaza and accused the pro-Israel lobbying group, AIPAC, of influencing politicians to &#8220;add fuel to the fire.&#8221; El-Sayed also accused AIPAC of &#8220;meddling with our race here in Michigan&#8221; because he &#8220;is one of AIPAC&#8217;s top targets to defeat.&#8221;</p>

<p>El-Sayed&#8217;s campaign told POLITICO that the email was sent on Tuesday by mistake.</p>
<p>&#8220;Abdul has been clear and consistent: he holds equally valuable the lives of all innocent people and condemns violence against them,” a spokeswoman for the Democratic candidate said.</p>
<p>El-Sayed also released a <a href="https://x.com/AbdulElSayed/status/1975554653476831707">statement</a> on the 2nd anniversary of Hamas&#8217; assault on Israel where he condemned Hamas for the &#8220;heinous attack,&#8221; but then accused Israel of committing &#8220;genocide.&#8221;</p>

<p>El-Sayed is a doctor and former health director who&#8217;s running to replace outgoing Michigan Democratic Senator Gary Peters. The Michigan doctor came in second place behind Governor Gretchen Whitmer in the 2018 Democratic gubernatorial primary. El-Sayed has been endorsed by Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and California Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna.</p>
<p>Earlier this year, El-Sayed spoke at an event alongside Hamas sympathizers, including one activist who expressed &#8220;euphoria&#8221; over the terror group&#8217;s October 7, 2023, attack, The Washington Free Beacon <a href="https://freebeacon.com/democrats/michigan-senate-candidate-backed-by-bernie-sanders-to-speak-at-islamist-convention-alongside-hamas-sympathizers/">reported</a>.</p>
<p>El-Sayed is running against Democratic Michigan state Senator Mallory McMorrow and Democratic U.S. Congresswoman Haley Stevens. McMorrow has recently taken a more anti-Israel stance on the war in Gaza, while Stevens has voiced pro-Israel views in the past and has been backed by AIPAC.</p>
<p>Democrats have maintained control of both Michigan U.S. Senate seats since 2001. Republican Mike Rogers, who lost to Sen. Elissa Slotkin in the 2024 election, is running for Senate again and appears to be the GOP&#8217;s best chance at winning the seat in 2026.</p>

<p>&#8220;Today&#8217;s &#8216;Fresh Hill&#8217; is that Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, is bringing his so-called American Comeback Tour to two campuses near you,&#8221; she said. Standing in front of a white board, she punctuated several of her statements by holding up post-it notes and then sticking them to the board.</p>
<p>&#8220;He is starting his tour at UVU on September 10th, and then he&#8217;ll be back in Utah on the 30th at Utah State,&#8221; she continued, adding in slightly lower tones, &#8220;Terrible demon boy.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Charlie Kirk is one of these campus tour speakers that always sparks controversy, and for very good reason,&#8221; Finlayson added, claiming that TPUSA had initially been about honest debate, but had since become something very different.</p>
<p>&#8220;Since its founding, it abandoned this non-partisan debate journey that it was on, and [is] now a content farm for white supremacy, cancel culture martyrdom, conspiracy theorists, and all too often these mega conventions where little baby fascists get to cosplay as freedom fighters,&#8221; she said.</p>
<p>&#8220;So not only is Turning Point USA controversial, but Charlie Kirk, the founder himself, is exceptionally controversial,&#8221; Finlayson concluded.</p>

<p>Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) used the assassination of conservative commentator and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk as an opportunity to complain about &#8220;right-wing extremists&#8221; and blame them for political violence in the United States.</p>
<p>Moulton made an appearance on CNN to discuss Kirk&#8217;s assassination — which had occurred not even 24 hours earlier at a college campus event in Orem, Utah — and he immediately attempted to make the conversation about violence coming from the political Right.</p>

<p>Moulton claimed that the bipartisan sentiment in Congress was an agreement that &#8220;we all need to turn down the rhetoric,&#8221; but then he pivoted. &#8220;But let&#8217;s be serious about where the violence is coming from. Of extremist violent attacks in America, extremist violent murders, 76% are from right-wing extremists, four percent are from left-wing extremists.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I condemn that four percent,&#8221; he assured host Kate Bolduan, adding, &#8220;But we also need to be honest about — as a nation — about where this violence is coming from.&#8221;</p>
<p>He concluded by once again attacking conservatives and claiming that they were responding to recent shootings by calling for more guns in the streets.</p>
<p>&#8220;And oh, by the way, it&#8217;s probably an appropriate time to talk about guns, too,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You hear a lot of conservatives saying, hey, the only thing we need to do here is get more guns on the street. That&#8217;s not going to solve this problem. That&#8217;s just going to make it worse.&#8221;</p>
<p>Moulton did not give any evidence that conservatives were actually calling for &#8220;more guns on the street,&#8221; nor did he offer even a hint at who might have said such a thing.</p>

<p>One MSNBC guest claimed on Saturday that calls for prayer after the tragic school shooting that unfolded just days earlier were &#8220;a form of idolatry&#8221; and &#8220;theological malpractice,&#8221; arguing that unless people were also willing to go after gun manufacturers, their prayers meant nothing.</p>
<p>Tennessee State Rep. Justin Jones, a Democrat, joined MSNBC host Ali Velshi to discuss the shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, MN — and he blamed Republican lawmakers and guns for the tragic shooting.</p>

<p>After a brief discussion about the potential role played by violent video games, Velshi pivoted to blame the guns. &#8220;There are people who play video games all over the world, and nobody has the problem the way we have it in the United States. So it might actually be about the guns.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I mean, that’s exactly it. And, you know, I want to take it a step further and say that — I want to bring theology into this because you have all these people who want to give thoughts and prayers after a shooting, but I was a minister and that is a form of theological malpractice,&#8221; Jones cut straight to the point. &#8220;When you pray for something that you have the power to change — there’s an African proverb that says, when you pray, you move your hands and feet. You know, what we’re seeing is a form of idolatry, where we’re willing to worship the lives of our children to appease the prophets of the gun industry.&#8221;</p>
<p>Jones went on to attack Republicans over a Tennessee law, saying, &#8220;After the mass shooting at the Covenant School, the only law Republicans passed that year was to protect gun manufacturers from litigation. That’s what they did after children were killed in a school. It is cruel, it is shameful, it’s immoral, and it is something that is going to be a dark stain on American history, that we’ve allowed this to go on for so long unchallenged. And we have the power to change things.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;And I would say to my colleagues who serve in government bodies, that we —Keep your thoughts and prayers, keep your tweets,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;If you wanna address gun violence, you don’t need a tweet, what you need is a mirror. You have the power to change things. You have the power to take action. Now is the time, until it’s your child, because sooner or later it’s gonna hit home. And then it’ll be too late.&#8221;</p>
<p>Other Democrats — from former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki to Minneapolis Mayor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/minneapolis-mayor-trashes-people-for-offering-thoughts-and-prayers-after-shooting">Jacob Frey</a> — took a similar tone after the shooting, arguing that calls for prayer were empty without gun control measures.</p>
<p>Press Secretary <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/karoline-leavitt-destroys-jen-psaki-for-mocking-the-power-of-prayer">Karoline Leavitt</a> pushed back, saying that such criticisms were demeaning to the millions of Americans who believe in the power of prayer — and a number pointed out that Republicans have proposed solutions to gun violence that would make schools harder targets, but that Democrats have repeatedly made it clear they will not consider such ideas.</p>

<p>Republican strategist Brad Todd laid out in detail the errors made during the 2020 census that disproportionately hurt Republicans — and helped Democrats.</p>
<p>Todd joined CNN anchor Kate Bolduan on &#8220;CNN News Central&#8221; to discuss the issue on Thursday, and he argued that a number of the U.S. Census Bureau population miscounts had dramatically skewed in favor of Democrats in multiple states across the country.</p>

<p>&#8220;In fact, we know the 2020 census — the errors were almost always to the detriment of red states,” Todd began, prompting an almost immediate interruption from Bolduan.</p>
<p>&#8220;Do we know that?&#8221; she asked.</p>
<p>&#8220;We do know that. The Census Bureau’s own audit of its work has proven that,&#8221; Todd shot back. &#8220;Blue states like Rhode Island were overcounted. Rhode Island then didn’t lose a seat. Red states like Alabama were undercounted. This is just a fact. It wasn’t all red-blue, but it was disproportionately red-blue.&#8221;</p>
<p>The U.S. Census Bureau’s 2020 Post-Enumeration Survey found that of the 14 states that were miscounted, five out of the six undercounted states were red states, and five of the eight over-counted states were blue states, per <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2022/05/19/census-bureau-2020-undercount-overcount-miscount-electoral-college/">The Daily Caller</a> in 2022. Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Utah were reportedly among those that were overcounted. The undercounted states included Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas.</p>
<p>Todd&#8217;s comments come on the heels of President Donald Trump&#8217;s call for a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-says-illegal-immigrants-will-not-be-counted-in-the-next-census">new census</a> that will not include illegal immigrants in the final counts. Trump faced a number of legal challenges when he attempted to take similar changes to the census process during his first term as president, but has signaled he plans to try again in the near future.</p>
