WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump will sign a presidential memorandum targeting ActBlue for potentially unlawful activities, a White House document shared with The Daily Wire shows.
The president&#8217;s order directs the Justice Department to crack down on illegal &#8220;straw donor&#8221; and foreign contributions in United States elections, the document said, and instructs Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate allegations regarding online fundraising platforms that make &#8220;straw&#8221; or &#8220;dummy&#8221; contributions or foreign contributions to political candidates or committees. Bondi will report the results of her investigation to President Trump.
The memorandum will specifically mention a congressional investigation showing &#8220;significant fraud schemes&#8221; using ActBlue, the Democratic Party&#8217;s major donation platform, as well as hundreds of ActBlue donations from foreign IP addresses using prepaid cards during the 2024 election cycle, &#8220;despite it being illegal for foreign nationals to contribute to U.S. elections.&#8221;
The move is aimed at addressing the actions of &#8220;malign actors and foreign nationals&#8221; who want to illegally influence American elections,&#8221; the White House said, alleging that recently uncovered evidence points to online fundraising platforms being used to &#8220;launder excessive and prohibited contributions to political candidates and committees.&#8221;
ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace Jones had warned of the coming move in an email to &#8220;trusted friends of ActBlue,&#8221; <a href="https://punchbowl.news/article/washington/actblue-warns-trump-eo/">writing in a Wednesday letter obtained by Punchbowl</a> &#8220;that the Trump administration was going to issue an Executive Order (EO) aimed at ActBlue,&#8221; and assuring recipients that &#8220;Our team sprung into action and made every preparation from a legal and communications perspective.&#8221;
&#8220;We are ready for whatever is next from the Far Right,&#8221; she wrote, adding that &#8220;we feel the weight of democracy resting on our shoulders.&#8221;

Nadine Menendez, the wife of former Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), was convicted on Monday of accepting bribes in a scheme that involved her husband while he was chairing one of the most powerful committees in the Senate.
The 58-year-old wife of the former senator was found guilty on 15 counts in the same New York courtroom where her husband was convicted last year, Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-04-21/bob-menendez-s-wife-convicted-of-bribery-scheme?srnd=homepage-americas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Prosecutors said that Nadine and her 71-year-old husband, who was sentenced to 11 years in prison, were &#8220;partners in crime.&#8221;
Nadine&#8217;s charges included bribery, obstruction of justice, and conspiring to make Bob Menendez an agent of Egypt, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/21/nyregion/nadine-bob-menendez-wife-guilty-bribery-trial.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a>. During her husband&#8217;s time in office, Nadine helped Menendez collect bribes, including cash, gold bars, and a Mercedes-Benz. In return, the former Democratic senator who chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee pushed for military aid for the Egyptian government and helped secure a monopoly for an Egyptian American businessman, according to prosecutors.
“This is about the defendant being partners in crime with a U.S. senator, helping a politician put his power up for sale,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Monteleoni said during closing arguments last week. “When there’s money on the line for her, the defendant sprung into action to get Menendez to take an official act or to promise that he would.”
The jury ultimately agreed with the prosecution after deliberating for over six hours. Nadine is scheduled to be sentenced on June 12. She faced a separate trial from her husband as she battled breast cancer. Last month, the former senator said it was &#8220;cruel and inhumane&#8221; to start the trial for Nadine while she struggles with breast cancer.
&#8220;My wife, who had breast cancer reconstructive surgery just days ago, is being forced by the government to go to trial tomorrow. Only the arrogance of the SDNY [Southern District of New York] can be so cruel and inhumane. The couple began dating in 2018 and were married in 2020. During former Sen. Menendez&#8217;s trial, his lawyers attempted to shift blame to Nadine for accepting bribes without his knowledge. Menendez&#8217;s attorney, Avi Weitzman, argued that Nadine &#8220;kept him in the dark&#8221; about her financial struggles, and the couple had separate bank accounts and credit cards.
During a raid in 2022, authorities found hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and gold bars in a closet and seized a Mercedes at the couple&#8217;s New Jersey home. Lawyers for former Sen. Menendez argued that he did not have a key to his wife&#8217;s closet. Menendez remained in his Senate seat following the bribery charges and throughout the trial. He finally resigned from the Senate after the guilty verdict.

One Democrat in Congress broke ranks to offer praise of President Donald Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Liberation Day&#8221; tariffs.
Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME), who hails from a <a href="https://apnews.com/article/maine-house-congress-golden-theriault-bb072ca55aaab2ebae3fb8b6339cb545" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hotly-contested</a> district and has a <a href="https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/jared_golden/412842/report-card/2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">track record</a> of cooperating with Republicans, endorsed the 10% baseline in the new tariff plan. The lower-end rate matches the one Golden put forward in a <a href="https://golden.house.gov/media/press-releases/golden-introduces-legislation-to-establish-universal-10-percent-tariff" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bill</a> earlier this year, the congressman noted.
&#8220;President Trump has introduced a number of new tariff policies, and I and my team are already digging into the details. I’ll have more to say on the specifics in the next few days,&#8221; Golden said in a <a href="https://golden.house.gov/media/press-releases/golden-statement-on-president-trump-s-tariffs-announcements" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a>.

Many congressional Democrats have spent the past day criticizing the new tariffs, which impose rates up to 50% on imports from dozens of countries.

Taking a more constructive approach, Golden offered to assist the Trump administration while agreeing with the president&#8217;s <a href="https://x.com/DHSgov/status/1907778962819829812" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stance</a> that decades of unfair trade practices have harmed the United States industrial base and American workers.
&#8220;I&#8217;m eager to work with the president to fix the broken ‘free trade’ system that made multinational corporations rich but ruined manufacturing communities across the country,&#8221; he said. &#8220;But tariffs must be paired with policies that prioritize American families’ prosperity.&#8221;
Golden also pushed for an approach that &#8220;benefits working people&#8221; and renegotiating trade deals like the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which Trump signed into law in 2018, &#8220;to support the Americans who are ready to ramp up production and support the rebuilding of our middle class — like the sawmills, processing plants, fishermen and farmers in the communities&#8221; he represents.

Secretary McMahon then took to the podium and promptly reiterated the case she has made since day one in office for transferring education policy power away from the federal Department of Education and into more local jurisdictions.
&#8220;I just want to express my gratitude to all of these folks who came today so that we could have an open discussion about what I believe is one of the most important things that we can have a discussion on or action on in our country, and that is the education of our young people,&#8221; McMahon said, noting that the next generation of leaders and scientists and doctors and lawyers were being educated now.
&#8220;I believe, and I know the president does believe this as well, the best education is that that is closest to the child, where teachers and parents, local superintendents, working together, and local school boards, to develop the curriculum for those students is the best way that it can happen,&#8221; she said.

Michelle reflected on getting into “some good sheets” at night when it’s “cool.&#8221; But she insisted that if they have guests, she’s “game” and will stay up later.

“They still are dealing with paparazzi and being who they are and trying to carve out their own identity,” she added. “So, when people ask me, would I ever run [for office], the answer is no. If you ask me that, then you have absolutely no idea [of] the sacrifice that your kids make when your parents are in that role.”
“Not only am I not interested in politics in that way but the thought of putting my girls back into that spotlight when they are just now establishing themselves, you know, I think we’ve done enough,” Michelle continued. “Question asked and answered. Never going to happen. They’ve already served their time. … It would be unthinkable. Nope.”

“You could have saved my hope and sent a thank you text. Geez, you people beg me for my time, my money, my hope,” one of the most scathing comments read. “I am gobsmacked at the thoughtlessness, but I shouldn’t be so naive.”
The purpose of Harris’ speech, which did not include a fundraising pitch and recycled much of the same message from Democrat’s concession speech, was not readily apparent to many of her supporters.

Harris vaguely stated that their movement was not over, but did not provide her supporters with any potential ways they could help or issue any calls to action, instead thanking her supporters who donated and &#8220;called in favors.&#8221;
&#8220;You called in favors, you said, &#8216;Hey, I showed up at your softball game, now I need you to show up at the campaign office,'&#8221; Harris said at one point during her speech.
The announcement of Harris’ speech, which lasted just ten minutes, apparently got certain supporters’ hopes up, however.
One commenter suggested that the failed candidate was using coded language and that Trump would actually be prevented from taking office somehow and that Harris had a trick up her sleeve that she could not yet reveal. “‘Outcome of this election is not what we wanted’ &#8211; notice she didn’t say ‘we lost’ &#8211; WE GET IT &#8211;  you can’t show your hand. That felon is going down.”
“Kamala I absolutely still see you taking office on 1/20,” one comment read, while another said in all caps, “WE CAN’T HAVE ANOTHER 4 YEARS OF TRUMP!!! TAKE HIM DOWN NOW!!!!!”
Numerous other Harris supporters called for a recount in the swing states, and some accused Trump of cheating with the help of Elon Musk.

A Democratic congressional candidate in a toss-up Arizona district gave a donation from local police officers to a bailout fund for criminals.
During the protests and riots in the summer of 2020, Kirsten Engel, a Democrat running against Republican Congressman Juan Ciscomani in Arizona’s 6th congressional district, gave away the donation from the Tucson Police Officer’s Association (TPOA) to a far-Left organization that worked to defund the police and bailout criminals.
Engel admitted to receiving the $200 donation from the TPOA and then contributing that $200 to the Arizona Justice Bailout Fund in a 2020 post on Facebook. “I must disclose that my campaign did accept $200 from TPOA last year which was donated to the Arizona Justice Bailout Fund,” the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/EngelForArizona/posts/pfbid02UXjD1xCGsJwTgAdPYRmLuAfXE6B9YSB9zmTmuyAPgRaA6iJuCBadg8j4V3pxZFUGl">post</a> reads. “I will not accept any future contributions from TPOA or any other police union.”
The bailout fund went to support the far-Left agitators who were arrested during the Black Lives Matter riots.
“Social justice leaders across the state are protesting against the consistent acts of police brutality we see every single day,” the <a href="https://secure.actblue.com/donate/azjusticefund">donation link</a> says. “The Arizona Coalition for Change is launching the Arizona Justice Bailout Fund to support millennials and leaders of color arrested during the protests that have occurred in Phoenix and Tucson. Please contribute to this fund to help us support these freedom fighters.”
The bail fund was organized by the Arizona Coalition for Change, a radical organization that openly supported the movement to defund police departments, insinuating that they perpetrate racially motivated violence.
“In this era of state-sanctioned violence and the injustice our Black communities are facing, it is important to understand the fight activists within Arizona and across the nation are relentlessly leading &#8211; to &#8216;defund the police&#8217; for the reallocation of funding in other areas of need and into communities of color,” the organization <a href="https://www.facebook.com/AzC4C/posts/pfbid0wz3arGbuwGRD9xkFG3GTkYFq91RFWBx46WnG9KSat5XmfypUsQbEeZ2ccPFaqHxvl">wrote</a> online.
Engel’s donation to the organization is not her only connection to far-Left efforts to disempower police, however. The candidate, who previously served in the state legislature, has ties to the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) and Living United For Change In Arizona (LUCHA), organizations that have advocated for defunding the police, abolishing prisons, and abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which is charged with deporting criminal illegal aliens.
One <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/news/az-dem-congressional-candidate-kirsten-engel-collaborated-with-anti-police-groups-while-in-state-legislature-emails-show/">recent investigation</a> by National Review found that Engel maintained a working relationship with the organizations, even asking them for support when crafting legislation on criminal justice.

Engel even encouraged voters to &#8220;consider donating to, getting involved with, and learning from&#8221; far-Left organizations like the Minnesota Freedom Fund, the same bail fund <a href="https://x.com/KamalaHarris/status/1267555018128965643" target="_blank" rel="noopener">supported</a> by Vice President Kamala Harris. The organization went on to <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/08/25/opinion/kamala-harris-support-for-bail-fund-that-freed-violent-criminals-shows-how-tough-on-crime-she-really-is/">bail out violent criminals</a>, including one individual who was freed after being charged with domestic abuse before going on to commit and plead guilty to murder.
The Democrat also <a href="https://freebeacon.com/elections/arizona-dem-signed-anti-cop-activists-slavery-reparations-pledge/">signed on to</a> a petition demanding reparations for slavery. The organization behind the petition called the Reparations Pledge PAC, was led by an activist who called defunding the police “a moral thing to do.”
Engel is currently projected to lose her race against incumbent Republican representative Juan Ciscomani, according to <a href="https://elections2024.thehill.com/forecast/2024/house/arizona-6/">forecasting models</a>. The two candidates faced off in 2022, with Ciscomani receiving 50.73% of the vote to Engel’s 49.23%.
Engel’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

A North Carolina Republican is attacking his Democratic opponent using a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-video-shows-dem-ag-candidate-hugging-convicted-sex-offender-after-receiving-lgbtq-award">Daily Wire story</a> that exposed Rep. Jeff Jackson hugging a convicted sex offender after receiving an LGBTQ award in 2022.
The ad is the latest development in Dan Bishop and Jackson&#8217;s contentious and high-profile race to be the state’s next attorney general. Bishop&#8217;s team is releasing the ad as part of a seven-figure statewide media buy in all major markets, The Daily Wire has learned.
&#8220;Child molester Chad Turner became one of Charlotte&#8217;s most notorious sex offenders,&#8221; the ad&#8217;s narrator says over a video of Jackson hugging Turner, first reported by The Daily Wire this month. &#8220;A few years later, Jeff Jackson accepted an award from him, and embraced Chad Turner.&#8221;

The ad then shows women watching the video of Jackson, reacting with comments such as, &#8220;This is wrong,&#8221; &#8220;everyone knew about this guy,&#8221; and &#8220;how could a mom of any child trust Jeff Jackson?&#8221;
&#8220;When it deals with children, there are no words,&#8221; says one of the women featured in the advertisement.
&#8220;I voted for Democrats before,&#8221; says a final woman. &#8220;I can&#8217;t vote for Jeff Jackson.&#8221;
“We frankly don’t know why Jeff Jackson embraced and accepted an award from a notorious sex offender,&#8221; a Bishop campaign spokesman told The Daily Wire. &#8220;It defies belief that Jackson somehow didn’t know – Chad Turner’s past has been a point of media and political controversy for nearly a decade.&#8221;
&#8220;Jeff Jackson likes to say in campaign ads he’s a ‘normal person.’ Sure, he seems pretty normal – aside from accepting awards from sex offenders at glitzy galas,&#8221; he added.
The Daily Wire published footage on Oct. 10 showing the December 13, 2022, Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce event where Jackson praised the work of LGBTQ activists on stage before embracing Turner, a registered sex offender and CEO of the Charlotte LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
Turner, who has not responded to requests for comment from The Daily Wire, <a href="https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/nc-bathroom-bill-opposition-leader-a-sex-offender/">was charged</a> with three cases of lewd acts on minors under the age of 16. He accused the boys of lying, but authorities sentenced him to 10 years in prison after convicting him in July 2000 of fondling a 15-year-old boy.
He only served two years of this sentence, <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13093009/Powerful-LGBTQ-advocacy-group-Human-Rights-Campaign-welcomes-man-know-convicted-PEDOPHILE-gala-previously-handing-prestigious-award.html">according to the Daily Mail,</a> but remains a registered sex offender under the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry.
A Jackson spokesman previously told The Daily Wire that the congressman “did not know about an individual’s status,” and was simply given an award by a “local chamber of commerce for supporting economic development.” Jackson’s office did not say whether the congressman would return the award, or continue to work with the organization.
But Tami Fitzgerald, the executive director of the North Carolina Values Coalition, argued earlier this month that Jackson would certainly have known who Turner was, saying that his background was “common knowledge&#8221; in North Carolina political circles.
“This was common knowledge at the legislature, where Jackson served and carried water for Turner’s issues,” Fitzgerald told The Daily Wire. “It was also common knowledge and received widespread media attention in Jackson and Turner’s hometown of Charlotte. It is inconceivable that Jeff Jackson did not know.”

Texas Attorney General <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ken-paxton" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ken Paxton</a> launched an investigation into Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue and found that a large number of suspicious and untraceable donations were processed by the platform.
The investigation into ActBlue, which began in 2023, previously <a href="https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/news/releases/attorney-general-ken-paxtons-ongoing-investigation-actblue-yields-cooperation-donor-credit-card">resulted</a> in the online fundraising platform for Democratic candidates requiring donors to provide their “CVV” codes on the back of their credit cards in order to make a contribution. Paxton is still warning against ActBlue, however, contending that the site has received donations from those using false identities.
Paxton now <a href="https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/news/releases/investigation-actblue-attorney-general-ken-paxton-uncovers-large-number-suspicious-donations-made">says</a> that it appears donations are “systematically being made using false identities, through untraceable payment methods” and <a href="https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/sites/default/files/images/press/ActBlue%20FEC%20Petition%20Redacted%20Final.pdf">sent a petition</a> to the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) calling on the entity to adopt new rules to safeguard elections. “Certain platforms appear to facilitate straw donor transactions, where a contributor disguises his identity by attributing his contribution to another, unaware person,” Paxton wrote, also highlighting that “prepaid cards are a favorite tool of fraudsters.”
“Notably, however, one of the most prominent online contribution platforms—ActBlue—submitted comments to the Commission encouraging it not to adopt regulations for prepaid cards that would have hampered this potential fraud,” the petition to the FEC from Paxton goes on to say. &#8220;If not corrected by the FEC, bad actors can—with trivial ease—illegally funnel foreign money into American elections, exceed political contribution limits, and more,&#8221; a press release from Paxton states.
Paxton also noted that his investigation reaffirmed public <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/rubio-demands-probe-actblue-reports-fraudulent-fundraising-off-seniors">reporting</a> on ActBlue, which <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/exclusive-data-shows-that-half-of-2019-donations-to-actblue-came-from-untraceable-unemployed-donors">found</a> that the names of people on fixed incomes, who say they did not donate on the platform, were recorded as donors.

“These contributions are being made in such high volume that, even without investigation, it strains credulity to believe they were legitimately made by the person whose name was provided as being the contributor,” Paxton said of these cases in his petition before highlighting the results of his investigation.
“Attorney General Paxton has independently corroborated that the public allegations about straw contributions appear true. Namely, many persons’ names have been used to make hundreds of unique contributions totaling many thousands of dollars per year,” the petition reads. “In many instances, contributions are made in these peoples’ names literally multiple times per day, almost every single day of the year.”
The redacted petition sent by Paxton to the FEC also requests that new amendments are added to existing policies, namely that political committees be required to “implement procedures ensuring that identities provided by donors match the information that the issuer of the donor’s payment card has on file.” It also urges the FEC to create an amendment establishing that political committees are out of compliance “with its obligation to maintain adequate records to verify donor identities if the committee accepts certain types of prepaid cards.”
“Our investigation into ActBlue has uncovered facts indicating that bad actors can illegally interfere in American elections by disguising political donations,&#8221; Paxton noted. &#8220;It is imperative that the FEC close off the avenues we have identified by which foreign contributions or contributions in excess of legal limits could be unlawfully funneled to political campaigns, bypassing campaign finance regulations and compromising our electoral system.&#8221;

Kennedy Jr, and more blasted former Democrat presidential candidate John Kerry who said during a recent event that the “First Amendment stands as a major block” to stamping out &#8220;disinformation&#8221; in the United States.
Speaking to the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/john-kerry-if-democrats-win-we-can-change-first-amendment-to-fight-disinformation">World Economic Forum</a> (WEF) on Green Energy, Kerry said “if Democrats” can win the 2024 election the party can “change” the 1st Amendment to fight what he labeled “disinformation.”
“But look, if people only go to one source, and the source they go to is sick, and, you know, has an agenda, and they’re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence,” Kerry said. “So what we need is to win the ground, win the right to govern, by hopefully winning enough votes that you’re free to be able to implement change.”

Reacting to clips of Kerry’s comments, the billionaire owner of X (formerly known as Twitter) <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1840604961459122181">Musk</a>, wrote that “John Kerry is saying he wants to violate the Constitution.”
He followed it up with a <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1840622115285881292">second post</a> agreeing with another person who wrote that, if former President Donald Trump loses the election, “it will be the last one,” adding “And they will destroy the Constitution.”
The former Democrat-turned-independent presidential candidate RFK Jr. <a href="https://x.com/RobertKennedyJr/status/1840763072249487600">wrote</a>, “John Kerry is correct. The 1st Amendment DOES stand as a major roadblock to them right now.”
