A Delaware Superior Court Judge ruled earlier this week that in the small town of Fenwick Island, companies can cast votes in their local elections. 
Delaware Superior Court judge Craig A. Karsnitz cited philosopher Diogo Joao Baptista Gomes in his Tuesday ruling that under the legal definition of a person, &#8220;any adult, corporation, or institution is a person.&#8221; As of 2025, 12% of all registered voters in the small Sussex town were corporations, including over 200 &#8220;artificial entities,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.reuters.com/legal/government/delaware-court-upholds-voting-by-companies-small-towns-election-2026-05-26/">Reuters</a>.
The ACLU of Delaware sued the town of Fenwick Island after it permitted non-resident property owners to vote in municipal elections. The <a href="https://www.aclu-de.org/press-releases/fenwick-corporate-voting/">ACLU</a>’s Andrew Bernstein said, &#8220;There are over two million artificial business entities incorporated in Delaware, and only about one million people.&#8221; 
The judge stated that the ACLU failed to demonstrate how Fenwick Island’s policy violated the &#8220;one person/entity/one vote&#8221; principle.
In the 2008 Fenwick Island charter update, the Delaware General Assembly revised the voter qualifications section of the town’s charter. This resulted in reaffirming authorization of non-resident property owners — including LLCs, corporations, and trusts — to vote in municipal elections, so long as they are registered to vote by March 1 before the subsequent election.
Delaware law declares that a corporation is a person, and Judge Karsnitz reasoned in his ruling that Fenwick Island’s voter laws do not practice discrimination or cause fraud, meaning that while he appreciates the ACLU in their fight, no violation took place. 
The judge stated in the ruling, &#8220;Visions of faceless large corporations or even HAL controlling a small town are frightening and the stuff of science fiction. However, Plaintiff has not demonstrated that this policy violates the principle of one person/entity/one vote. … And matters of policy are appropriately left to legislative bodies, not the courts.”
Some argue the door is now open for more artificial entities to influence elections at the local level, even though the practice started in 1953 at the town’s founding. The ACLU complained that in Fenwick Island’s 2024 election, non-human voters made up the entire vote margin between the winner and runner-up. 
Following the landmark Supreme Court case Citizens United v. FEC in 2010, national debate focused on whether a corporation was a singular person. Subsequently, a lawmaker in Montana in 2013 introduced a bill allowing corporations to vote in municipal elections on the condition of property ownership. The bill was tabled without being passed. In 2023, another Delaware town, Seaford, attempted to expand voting to businesses in an effort to help their local economy. The attempt was extremely brief. 
Still, Fenwick Island’s election laws remain entirely unique to the town being historically friendly to property owners and corporations. The ACLU’s challenge against the small town remains the only direct legal challenge to artificial entity voting.
The ACLU still has the opportunity to appeal the case to the Delaware Supreme Court.

The ex-husband of former first lady Jill Biden has been charged with murdering his wife at their Delaware home. 
The New Castle County Police announced Tuesday that they had arrested 77-year-old William Stevenson and charged him with murdering 64-year-old Linda Stevenson. Stevenson was married to Jill Biden from 1970 to 1975 before they divorced. 
Stevenson’s arrest <a href="https://nccpdnews.com">came after</a> a weeks-long investigation into Linda’s December death at their home in the Oak Hill neighborhood in Wilmington, Delaware. He was charged with first-degree murder after police detectives, in coordination with the Delaware Department of Justice, made their case to a grand jury. 
Stevenson is currently behind bars at the Howard Young Correctional Institution after he was unable to pay $500,000 cash bail. Linda Stevenson was found dead on December 28, 2025, after police responded to a reported domestic dispute call. 
&#8220;Upon entering the home, officers located 64-year-old Linda Stevenson unresponsive in the living room. Officers immediately administered life-saving measures; however, despite their efforts, Linda Stevenson was later pronounced deceased,” the New Castle County Police said at the time. 
Her body was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy. Authorities have not yet revealed the cause of her death.
Linda Stevenson’s obituary described her death as unexpected and did not mention her husband. 
“Linda was deeply family-oriented and treasured time spent making memories, especially on family vacations with her daughter and granddaughter,” her obituary said. “She loved her work and truly cared for her clients, many of whom became friends.”
Jill Biden first met William Stevenson in 1969 while she was attending the University of Delaware, the New York Times reported.  
“I truly believed we were destined for each other,” she <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/02/03/us/william-stevenson-jill-biden-homicide.html">wrote</a> in her memoir. “Looking back it may seem like a mistake of youth.”
In March 1975, Jill met then-Sen. Joe Biden, and by May of that year, she was divorced from Stevenson. She married Biden in June 1977. 
Stevenson was the <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/jill-bidens-ex-husband-arrested-charged-killing-current-wife-rcna257257">founder</a> of the Stone Balloon Club in Newark, Delaware, a well-known venue where musicians like Bruce Springsteen performed.

The Trump administration on Tuesday took action against six blue states that it says have failed to comply with requests to produce their voter rolls. 
The Justice Department <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-sues-six-additional-states-failure-provide-voter-registration-rolls">announced</a> suits against Delaware, Maryland, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington for not producing statewide registration lists. Without these lists, the Justice Department said that they cannot certify that the states are maintaining an accurate count of eligible voters. 
&#8220;Accurate voter rolls are the cornerstone of fair and free elections, and too many states have fallen into a pattern of noncompliance with basic voter roll maintenance,&#8221; said Attorney General Pam Bondi. &#8220;The Department of Justice will continue filing proactive election integrity litigation until states comply with basic election safeguards.&#8221;
The suits come amid a push from Republicans nationwide to crack down on non-citizen voting and maintain clean voter registration lists.
The lawsuits say that the states are not acting in accordance with the National Voter Registration Act and the Help America Vote Act, which compel states to maintain accurate voter lists. The attorney general is empowered to enforce those laws and has a right to access the lists under the Civil Rights Act of 1960, the suits say.
&#8220;States that continue to defy federal voting laws interfere with our mission of ensuring that Americans have accurate voter lists as they go to the polls, that every vote counts equally, and that all voters have confidence in election results. At this Department of Justice, we will not stand for this open defiance of federal civil rights laws,” said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon.
The <a href="https://www.justice.gov/crt/media/1419811/dl?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=govdelivery">lawsuit</a> against Rhode Island says that on September 16 Rhode Island sent a letter to the Justice Department refusing a September 8 request for voter roll information. The letter said that the states “objects to providing” the requested information, according to the suit. This requested information includes driver license information and the last four digits of Social Security numbers used to register for voting.

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha claimed the suit was an example of Trump weaponizing the Justice Department. 
“We stand with and will defend the secretary, and win, because lawsuits concerning lawful conduct are largely unsuccessful,” he said. “But I’m not surprised that this administration is confused about what it means to behave lawfully.”

Biden&#8217;s vacation days outnumbered the 381 taken by President Donald Trump during his first term of 1,461 days — which comes out to approximately 26% of his time in office — and even managed to surpass the previous record set by the late George H.W. Bush, who spent 543 of his 1,461 days as president, or 37%, on vacation.
Former President George W. Bush had a slightly lower vacation-to-work ratio, taking 1020 vacation days out of his 2,922 days in office (35%). The late President Ronald Reagan and former President Barack Obama came in at 11%, and the late President Jimmy Carter vacationed for just 5% of his presidency.
Biden put them all to shame when, after being unceremoniously ousted from the Democrats&#8217; 2024 presidential ticket, he took 23 days off in a row beginning on August 8th.

A Delaware judge blocked Tesla CEO <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/elon-musk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elon Musk</a> from receiving a massive multibillion dollar compensation package this week that the company&#8217;s shareholders overwhelmingly approved for him.
The ruling from Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick of the Delaware Court of Chancery, who was appointed by Delaware Democrat Governor John Carney, comes after she struck down the same deal in January when she claimed in her ruling that the size of package was not fair. The company&#8217;s board of directors first approved the package for Musk in 2018.
After McCormick blocked the package earlier this year, 77% of the shareholders at Tesla voted in June to <a href="https://www.investors.com/news/tesla-stock-elon-musk-56-billion-paypackage-rejected-delaware-judge">approve</a> the compensation package for Musk a second time.
McCormick awarded the plaintiff&#8217;s attorneys $345 million in the case, equivalent to $17,692 per hour for the amount of time worked, because they had to face &#8220;some of the best law firms in the country, who put Plaintiff through their paces.&#8221;

The size of the package has exploded since she first rejected the deal since the $50 billion in stock options that shareholders initially approved is now worth well over $100 billion because of the success that Tesla has had.
The New York Times noted that the package stipulated that Musk would only get the options &#8220;if Tesla’s stock price soared and its sales and earnings grew strongly.&#8221;
The Times, which has been critical of Musk, acknowledged that Musk beat naysayers who doubted that he could actually achieve the goals that were set out for him to be able to earn the package.

A D.C. Court of Appeals <a href="https://x.com/kyledcheney/status/1805619568511000853" target="_blank" rel="noopener">order</a> on Tuesday said Biden is &#8220;suspended immediately from the practice of law &#8230; pending resolution of this matter&#8221; following his conviction on three felony counts that appear to be &#8220;serious crimes&#8221; as defined by D.C. Bar rules.
Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby, who signed the order, also said the Board on Professional Responsibility is &#8220;directed to institute a formal proceeding to determine the nature of the offense and whether it involves moral turpitude.&#8221;
Biden has <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/06/18/hunter-biden-law-license-suspended/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> been a member of the D.C. bar since 2007, though CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/25/politics/hunter-biden-law-license-suspended/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that he has worked as an attorney in recent years as he sought income from other ventures, such as his 2021 memoir called &#8220;Beautiful Things&#8221; and his <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/an-ethics-nightmare-hunter-biden-art-gallerist-interviewed-by-house-investigators" target="_blank" rel="noopener">art career</a>.
A disciplinary office in the nation&#8217;s capital <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/disciplinary-office-proposes-suspension-hunter-045011817.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recommended</a> that Biden&#8217;s law license be suspended a little more than a week after the 54-year-old was convicted of lying on paperwork for a revolver and owning the firearm while being a drug addict in 2018.

The verdict in the gun trial could land Biden in prison for up to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-faces-up-to-25-years-in-prison-if-convicted" target="_blank" rel="noopener">25 years</a> and lead to fines as high as $750,000. However, The Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/06/18/hunter-biden-law-license-suspended/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> that Biden probably will receive a lighter sentence because he is a first-time offender.
Attorneys for Biden submitted a filing on Monday requesting a new trial while arguing that a federal appeals court did not give the trial court formal permission to proceed after dismissing his appeals, <a href="https://t.co/BWNHRbXU3t" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to Reuters</a>.
President Joe Biden, who is running for a second term in the White House, has said he will not <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-claims-he-wont-pardon-his-son-if-hes-convicted-on-federal-gun-charges" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pardon</a> his son or <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/biden-would-not-commute-potential-sentence-son-hunter-biden/story?id=111095314" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commute</a> whatever sentence Hunter may receive.
Hunter Biden is also facing a tax trial in California, which is set to begin in September. Today, a federal jury in Wilmington, Delaware, found that the president&#8217;s son, Hunter Biden, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-guilty-on-all-counts-in-gun-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener">violated the law</a> when he lied about his drug use on a gun store firearms form to obtain a revolver, speed loader, and ammunition in October of 2018.
This was not a particularly close case. Evidence showed, among many other things, that Biden was texting his drug dealer the day before he bought the gun. The upshot, however, is that Hunter Biden becomes the first son of a United States president to become a felon in the history of the country. For much of the national news media, Hunter Biden&#8217;s trial and conviction is proof that the justice system is fair and impartial. Therefore, we should conclude that Donald Trump&#8217;s prosecutions are legitimate.
It&#8217;s fine to imprison the leading presidential frontrunner on a novel and untested legal theory, they say, because the current president&#8217;s son could potentially go to jail for crimes he obviously committed.

But the correspondence reveals that his position, relayed through his staff, changed in the spring, around the time a pair of I.R.S. officials on the case accused the Justice Department of hamstringing the investigation.&#8221;
One of those whistleblowers, Gary Shapley, <a href="https://waysandmeans.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Whistleblower-1-Transcript_Redacted.pdf#page=9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">alleged</a> in an affidavit that:
<blockquote>But the criminal tax investigation of Hunter Biden, led by the United States Attorney&#8217;s Office for the District of Delaware, has been handled differently than any investigation I&#8217;ve ever been a part of for the past 14 years of my IRS service. &#8230; At every stage decisions were made that had the effect of benefiting the subject.</blockquote>
Shapely also stated:
<blockquote>Investigators assigned to this investigation were obstructed from seeing all the available evidence. It is unknown if all the evidence in [Hunter&#8217;s] laptop was reviewed by agents or by prosecutors.</blockquote>
The testimony of Shapley and another whistleblower caused major, unexpected problems for Joe Biden&#8217;s DOJ. Their plan to bury the Hunter Biden case entirely was no longer viable.
First of all, the whistleblowers revealed that Merrick Garland may have lied when he told Congress that the DOJ wasn&#8217;t interfering in the Hunter Biden investigation. That had to be resolved immediately.
Secondly, and more importantly, the whistleblowers helped establish a direct link between Hunter Biden&#8217;s criminal activity and Joe Biden&#8217;s actions. 
Here&#8217;s one recent interview, for example:

Confronted with statements like this from whistleblowers, the DOJ had no choice but to bring some kind of charge against Hunter Biden. So they settled on a plan: They would bring a prosecution, and then immediately seek out a plea deal. This deal, as the DOJ envisioned it, would grant Hunter Biden immunity from prosecution for unrelated felonies he may have committed — including potential violations of FARA, or the Foreign Agents Registration Act, relating to his overseas business operations. That&#8217;s the law that was essentially never prosecuted until the DOJ decided to use it to target Trump aides, including Paul Manafort.
In exchange for accepting this plea deal granting him total immunity, Hunter Biden would suffer no actual punishment whatsoever. The deal was too over-the-top, though, which is why it collapsed late last year when a federal judge refused to sign off. The DOJ admitted in court that they couldn&#8217;t think of a similar sweetheart deal ever being offered in the history of federal prosecutions.
So the DOJ was back at square one — but not entirely. Their strategy to absolve Hunter Biden completely may have failed, but their plan to insulate Joe Biden from scrutiny appears to have succeeded.
As Shapely stated in his affidavit, the sabotaged investigative process into Hunter Biden:
<blockquote>… meant no charges would ever be brought in the District of Columbia, where the statute of limitations on the 2014 and &#8217;15 [tax] charges would eventually expire. The years in question included foreign income from [Ukrainian oil company] Burisma and a scheme to evade his income taxes through a partnership with a convicted felon. There were also potential FARA issues relating to 2014 and 2015. The purposeful exclusion of the 2014 and 2015 years sanitized the most substantive criminal conduct and concealed material facts.</blockquote>
In other words, the government let the statute of limitations on the most serious potential charges — the ones involving Hunter Biden&#8217;s time working at a high-paying, no-show job at a Ukrainian oil company — expire on purpose. And those potential charges aren&#8217;t simply significant because of their impact on Hunter Biden. They&#8217;re significant because, as you may remember, Joe Biden once publicly bragged about getting Ukraine&#8217;s top prosecutor fired. This was the prosecutor who, coincidentally enough, was investigating Burisma at the time. Watch:

That&#8217;s Joe Biden admitting that, when he was vice president, the U.S. threatened to withhold funding to Ukraine until Ukraine fired its own top prosecutor. You can choose to believe that Joe Biden is just really passionate about ending corruption in eastern Europe or it might be that Joe Biden wanted to take the heat off the corruption that his own family was engaging in.
We&#8217;ll probably never have the evidence of any such corruption now, though — because as Shapely said, 
<blockquote>There is no mechanism available to collect the tax owed by Hunter Biden for 2014 other than in a voluntary fashion.</blockquote>
This is the ultimate goal of the Hunter Biden prosecution. The DOJ isn&#8217;t concerned about this gun case. Their real objective has been to slow-roll their work as much as possible, so that the more serious charges expire. And it&#8217;s very clear, as the whistleblower said, that there&#8217;s a viable reason to investigate not only Hunter Biden for potential FARA violations, but also his father.
Congressional Republicans, for example, have <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/hunter-biden-whatsapp-message-fuels-gop-assertions-corruption/story?id=100338044" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> a July 2017 WhatsApp message in which Hunter Biden appears to threaten a Chinese business associate by mentioning his father. According to court documents, Hunter Biden wrote:
<blockquote>I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. … Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. &#8230; And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. &#8230; I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.</blockquote>
So that&#8217;s a conversation that strongly suggests that Joe Biden was directly involved with his son&#8217;s foreign business dealings with a Chinese private equity fund closely tied to the Chinese Communist Party — and that he&#8217;d leverage his influence to secure payouts.
These are the kinds of investigative threads that the DOJ has been working to bury since they obtained Hunter Biden&#8217;s laptop all the way back in December of 2019 — as part of an investigation dating back to 2018.
These investigations haven&#8217;t taken so long because they&#8217;re particularly complicated. They&#8217;ve gone on for so long because the federal government has been trying to run out the clock. First they denied that the laptop was even real, then they slow-walked the investigation into its contents. And when two IRS whistleblowers disrupted their plan, they selected the pettiest charges imaginable so that they can obscure the real crimes they desperately don&#8217;t want to investigate.
Hunter Biden was convicted today for only one reason — so that Joe Biden won&#8217;t ever be investigated.

Jurors convicted Hunter Biden, 54, on three felony counts of lying on paperwork for a revolver and owning the firearm while being a drug addict in 2018.
The verdict, reached on the second day of jury deliberations, could land Hunter Biden in prison for up to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-faces-up-to-25-years-in-prison-if-convicted" target="_blank" rel="noopener">25 years</a> and lead to fines as high as $750,000.
Hunter Biden was seen walking out of the courthouse while holding hands with first lady Jill Biden and his wife Melissa Cohen Biden after the decision.

Sentencing is expected in about four months, <a href="https://x.com/NorahODonnell/status/1800550885829066860" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to</a> &#8220;CBS Evening News&#8221; anchor Norah O&#8217;Donnell, who noted it could happen around election time.
Hunter Biden, who had pleaded not guilty to the charges, may appeal the decision. His father, President Biden, has already <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-claims-he-wont-pardon-his-son-if-hes-convicted-on-federal-gun-charges" target="_blank" rel="noopener">vowed</a> not to pardon his son.
The trial lasted a little more than a week. Witnesses included Hunter Biden&#8217;s ex-wife, a former girlfriend, and the gun store clerk who sold him the revolver.
His late brother Beau Biden&#8217;s wife, Hallie Biden, testified about her public disposal of the revolver and being introduced to crack cocaine by Hunter Biden.
Defense lawyers argued there was no evidence of Hunter Biden abusing drugs at the time he applied for the revolver and owned the gun.
Texts <a href="https://x.com/alana_austin/status/1800186110569775187" target="_blank" rel="noopener">presented</a> by prosecutors showed Hunter Biden telling Hallie Biden he was &#8220;smoking crack&#8221; and &#8220;waiting on a dealer&#8221; shortly after he bought the gun.
The defense called Naomi Biden, Hunter Biden&#8217;s daughter, to testify during the trial but the defendant himself never took the stand.
Hunter Biden has also pleaded not guilty to tax charges in California. A trial in that case is set to take place in September.
The indictments in both cases, which took shape after the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-plea-deal-almost-derails-after-questions-about-scope-of-deal-immunity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">collapse of a plea deal last year</a>, are spearheaded by special counsel David Weiss.

President Biden, who is running for a second term, released a <a href="https://x.com/tylerpager/status/1800558268013498870" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> after the verdict repeating his pledge to accept the outcome.
&#8220;Jill and I will always be there for Hunter and the rest of our family with our love and support,&#8221; he added. &#8220;Nothing will ever change that.&#8221;

Last week, Donald Trump, Biden’s chief political opponent, was convicted on 34 felony counts. And Joe Biden said that the justice system had worked. Any talk about the justice system not working was &#8220;undermining our democracy,&#8221; was &#8220;undermining our institutions.&#8221;
But now, Joe Biden&#8217;s son, Hunter, is in the dock in Wilmington, Delaware, on federal gun charges because it turns out that he pretty clearly lied on his gun registration form when he went to buy a gun.
He clearly was a drug addict. He lied on his forms about being a drug addict. All of that culminated in a situation in which his girlfriend, who at the time was his brother&#8217;s widow, apparently was so afraid of Hunter having a gun that she took it, drove it over to a local store, and tossed it in a trash can which happened to be near a school.
The Secret Service then tried to cover it up.
As you&#8217;ll recall, this was looked into by Joe Biden&#8217;s DOJ. There are whistleblowers who came forward alleging that the Biden DOJ had essentially hamstrung prosecutors from investigating Hunter Biden&#8217;s involvement with his father, Joe, and went out of their way to cut some sort of deal to close the tax case that was also being investigated against Hunter Biden.
There were two simultaneous cases being investigated against Hunter Biden. One was the gun charge. The other was the fact that Hunter Biden had spent his entire adult life traveling around the globe, picking up stacks of cash on behalf of the Biden family, because Joe Biden is an extraordinarily corrupt politician on behalf of his own family. Literally every adult member of his family has trafficked in Joe Biden&#8217;s name in order to make money, with Joe Biden&#8217;s permission and or involvement.

So there was a full-scale tax investigation going on. Whistleblowers came forward, and they said that Joe Biden&#8217;s DOJ had been told to basically look the other way on the tax investigation. This all came to a head when it turned out that the DOJ tried to cut a sweetheart deal with Hunter Biden wherein he would be essentially directed to rehab for his drug problem but as part of the plea agreement, all the tax charges would simply go away. They would randomly be dismissed.
The judge in that particular case looked at this plea agreement and said this makes no sense, how is this okay? Why is it my job to excuse him on the tax charges because you are trying to sign some sort of agreement with him on the drug charges? She asked the prosecution if they were actually freeing him up on the tax charges? They said no. The defense then said if you&#8217;re not freeing him up on the tax charges, then we&#8217;re not taking the deal. We&#8217;re not going to plead guilty in any way if you&#8217;re not going to free him up on the tax charges.
The prosecution and the defense had essentially gotten together and decided to try to sneak one past the judge. The judge said no and the whole thing blew up.
That’s how you end up with a prosecution in Wilmington, Delaware, on these gun charges.
This is an open and shut case. It is obvious that Hunter Biden lied on his federal drug forms on his federal gun forms. The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/us-news/law/trial-of-a-presidents-son-crack-cocaine-a-colt-cobra-revolver-and-an-alleged-lie-02900b7f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>:
<blockquote>On a Friday evening in October 2018, Hunter Biden rolled up in a black Cadillac to StarQuest Shooters &amp; Survival Supply in the Delaware city where he had been born and raised. A salesman standing in the window didn’t initially recognize him as the son of the state’s longtime Democratic senator, now-President Biden, and <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.ded.82797/gov.uscourts.ded.82797.157.2.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">would later recall declining a tip</a> from the younger Biden as he purchased a .38-caliber Colt Cobra revolver.</blockquote>
Hunter’s clearly guilty. Everyone in the family knew that he was a drug addict. The Wall Street Journal noted:
<blockquote>In the gun case, federal prosecutors are planning <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.ded.82797/gov.uscourts.ded.82797.119.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">to use the younger Biden’s own words against him</a>. They are expected to draw from excerpts of Biden’s memoir published in 2021, ‘Beautiful Things.’ Among the excerpts is a section of the book about his return to Delaware in October 2018. ‘All my energy revolved around smoking drugs and making arrangements to buy drugs—feeding the beast,’ Hunter Biden wrote in one excerpt that prosecutors referenced in court filings.</blockquote>
Hunter literally wrote in his memoir about being a drug addict at a time he was lying on his federal gun forms. The Journal continues:
<blockquote>In <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.ded.82797/gov.uscourts.ded.82797.158.0.pdf">court papers</a> ahead of trial, federal prosecutors have also previewed a witness list that includes Hunter Biden’s ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle, and Hallie Biden. Prosecutors didn’t reference either woman by name, but both are identifiable by the descriptions of their respective relationships to Hunter Biden, who had a romantic relationship with Hallie Biden following his brother’s death.
Prosecutors said Buhle checked Hunter Biden’s car periodically because she didn’t want their children in a vehicle with drugs. On about a dozen occasions, prosecutors said, she found drugs or paraphernalia, which she discarded in a trash can. In a March 2018 text message, she wrote: “I also found a few crack pipes. I took them out because our daughter was driving the car.”</blockquote>
Hunter Biden&#8217;s defense supposedly is the legality of the gun sale. They&#8217;re going to try and blame it on the gun shop. They&#8217;re going to say they should have known that he was lying then. They shouldn&#8217;t have sold him the gun in the first place, because also they accepted Biden&#8217;s passport as identification.
So what is really going on here? I&#8217;ll tell you what&#8217;s really going on here. Joe Biden won Wilmington, Delaware, the jurisdiction for this trial and his hometown, 26,688 votes to 3,580 votes. Donald Trump won roughly 11.8% of the vote in the jurisdiction where Hunter Biden is currently being tried.
Delaware is a very small state. Joe Biden has long been the favorite son of Delaware because he&#8217;s brought home the bacon. Joe Biden was largely involved in the transformation of Delaware from a sleepy backwater to a place where most businesses are organized, particularly credit card businesses, which have made an absolute bundle of their association with Joe Biden over the years.
In other words, this is Joe Biden&#8217;s town. This is so much Joe Biden&#8217;s town that there are buildings named for him at the University of Delaware, where his wife got her PhD. The Biden family owns Wilmington.
This is the opposite of Donald Trump’s Manhattan trial. You have very strong charges against Hunter Biden, but you have a jury pool in which likely the vast majority of them voted for Hunter&#8217;s dad. In Trump’s case, there was a very weak case against Donald Trump, a case that didn’t even specify one specific crime, but you had a jury pool that hated Donald Trump.
So here&#8217;s the question for Biden:
Is it better for Joe Biden&#8217;s campaign if Hunter Biden is convicted or if he is acquitted? If Hunter Biden is acquitted, everyone is going to see this for what it is, which is that the DOJ tried to cut a sweetheart deal with Joe Biden&#8217;s son. They failed when a judge called them on it. Then they brought the prosecution in a jurisdiction that is the most favorable jurisdiction in human history for a defendant, and then either Hunter gets acquitted or there&#8217;s a hung jury.
Does that look like a justice system that is working on behalf of the people? Does that really sound like what Joe Biden said about Donald Trump? That no one is above the law if he gets convicted?
Will Hunter be acquitted? It’s doubtful. The charges are too strong. But could there be a hung jury?
You bet.
I’d bet there are at least one or two holdouts inside that jury who believe that the only reason that Hunter is being brought up on charges at all is because of an attempt by the DOJ to look evenhanded.
And if there is a hung jury, Biden will bloviate about how the jury system worked yet again.

President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> released a statement on Monday expressing support for his son, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hunter-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hunter Biden</a>, as jury selection in the younger Biden&#8217;s federal gun trial in Delaware got underway.
The elder Biden made reference to his son&#8217;s effort to overcome drug addiction — a key factor in the felony charges at the heart of the case — and sought to emphasize his statement was a personal one as some have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-house-democrat-defends-loving-father-biden-says-hunter-has-done-nothing-wrong" target="_blank" rel="noopener">criticized him</a> for previously speaking publicly about the federal investigation into Hunter Biden.
&#8220;I am the President, but I am also a Dad,&#8221; President Biden <a href="https://x.com/KellyO/status/1797620972637278709" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. &#8220;Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today. Hunter’s resilience in the face of adversity and the strength he has brought to his recovery are inspiring to us. A lot of families have loved ones who have overcome addiction and know what we mean.&#8221;
&#8220;As the President, I don’t and won’t comment on pending federal cases, but as a Dad, I have boundless love for my son, confidence in him, and respect for his strength,&#8221; he added. &#8220;Our family has been through a lot together, and Jill and I are going to continue to be there for Hunter and our family with our love and support.&#8221;
Hunter Biden, 54, faces two felony gun offenses for lying on paperwork to buy a revolver in 2018 and a third for owning that firearm for 11 days while being a drug addict, <a href="https://www.justice.gov/sco-weiss/pr/grand-jury-returns-indictment-charging-robert-hunter-biden-three-felonies-related-his" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to</a> the Department of Justice. The first son pleaded not guilty to the charges, which could land Hunter Biden in prison for up to 25 years if he is convicted.
First lady Jill Biden joined Hunter Biden and his wife, Melissa Cohen, at the courthouse in Wilmington, Delaware, for the first day of the trial. The Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/06/03/hunter-biden-gun-trial-live-updates-jury-selection/#author-box" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that the judge predicted jury selection could last until Wednesday and the trial is estimated to last up to two weeks.

Hallie Biden, whose public disposal of the gun <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/06/02/hunter-biden-beau-widow-gun-trial/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">led up to the charges</a>, received a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/joe-biden-visits-hallie-biden-beaus-widow-and-hunters-lover-before-she-testifies-in-hunters-trial" target="_blank" rel="noopener">visit</a> from President Biden at her home last week.
The trial in Delaware begins this week after a judge <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/judge-rejects-hunter-bidens-bid-to-delay-his-june-trial-on-gun-charges" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rejected</a> Hunter Biden&#8217;s bid to delay the prosecution. Judge Maryellen Norieka also blocked an <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/02/politics/judge-blocks-evidence-hunter-biden-gun-trial/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">expert witness</a> that Hunter Biden&#8217;s team hoped would testify and <a href="https://x.com/GaryGrumbach/status/1797471213188780297" target="_blank" rel="noopener">prevented them from</a> using an annotated Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives form from 2021.

In a separate case in California, Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to tax charges. The trial in California had also been scheduled for June 20 but has since been <a href="https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/hunter-biden-federal-tax-trial-delay/3418729/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pushed back</a> to September. The indictments in both cases, which took shape after the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-plea-deal-almost-derails-after-questions-about-scope-of-deal-immunity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">collapse of a plea deal last year</a>, are spearheaded by special counsel David Weiss.
POLITICO recently <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/05/15/hunter-biden-trial-psychological-torment-00158028" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cited</a> unnamed advisers who said members of the first family are fretting how the “weight” of Hunter Biden going to trial will affect President Biden in an already difficult time politically. The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/report-says-aides-worry-president-biden-will-suffer-psychological-torment-from-hunter-standing-trial" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> also noted that President Biden has expressed fears about the possibility that his son will end up serving prison time.

President Biden Releases Statement As Jury Selection Begins In Hunter's Gun Trial

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hunter-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hunter Biden</a> faced multiple blows in court Thursday, as a judge denied his motion to dismiss his three felony gun charges and an appeals court also ruled against him.
Judge Maryellen Noreika of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware set a three-to-six day trial beginning June 3.
The Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit rejected his appeal, in which Hunter referenced precedent about &#8220;former government officials claiming they are immunized from prosecution based on separation-of-powers principles&#8221; &#8212; even though the first son is not a former government official, and Democrats are zealously seeking to try former president Donald Trump, who is, in state courts.
Hunter also tried to have the charge dismissed by saying the government was bound to a &#8220;diversion agreement&#8221; that would have eventually made the gun charges go away.
U.S. Attorney David Weiss drafted the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-bidens-lawyers-claim-deal-to-resolve-felony-gun-charge-was-binding" target="_blank" rel="noopener">deal</a>, then rescinded it last summer after being embarrassed when <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/gop-investigators-probe-alleged-effort-by-hunter-bidens-lawyers-to-punish-irs-whistleblowers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">whistleblowers</a> provided evidence of the DOJ seemingly hamstringing investigators on the case. Prosecutors could not point to a single case in which they had agreed to such a generous &#8220;diversion agreement&#8221; for felony gun charges for anyone else, and a probation officer declined to approve the deal.
A lawyer for rapper <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kodak-was-charged-for-the-same-crime-hip-hop-stars-lawyer-condemns-hunter-biden-plea-deal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kodak Black</a>, who received three years in prison for similar charges, said, &#8220;There’s no such thing as not getting jail time on a gun charge&#8230; 2 tiers of justice?&#8221;
Nonetheless, Hunter argued to the court that he is the victim of &#8220;selective and vindictive prosecution,&#8221; and continued to demand documents to prove it even after the judge shut down the argument. He went so far as to demand information about grand jurors, which is normally secret, because &#8220;it remains possible that in this highly-politicized matter, the grand jury was selected without regard to the bias that people might have.&#8221;

The judge <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.ded.82797/gov.uscourts.ded.82797.113.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>, &#8220;There will be no such evidentiary hearing.&#8221;
The DOJ under Hunter&#8217;s father, President Joe Biden, has charged 1,200 January 6 defendants, sometimes for conduct as petty as trespassing, in D.C., which voted 93% for Biden, and secured a nearly 100% conviction rate.
Hunter&#8217;s lawyers also sought to use the court case to compel the production of documents relating to former officials in the Trump administration, including former Attorney General Bill Barr. The judge wrote, &#8220;Defendant has failed to show how any of the requested communications among former DOJ and Executive Branch officials could constitute exculpatory evidence,&#8221; noting that no one who even communicated with them will testify at trial.
The judge noted that the DOJ has turned over voluminous information to Hunter already, including &#8220;a forensic copy of the devices seized from The Mac Shop&#8221; &#8212; an admission that the Hunter Biden laptop is real, despite government officials suggesting otherwise before the election.
Hunter&#8217;s lawyers previously threatened to trigger a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-bidens-lawyers-threatened-to-put-president-biden-on-witness-stand-if-hunter-was-charged-by-doj-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;Constitutional crisis&#8221;</a> by having President Joe Biden testify at his son&#8217;s trial.
Hunter is charged with lying on federal firearms purchase forms that he was not a drug user, despite a raging cocaine addiction. His girlfriend eventually threw his gun in a dumpster. The charge carries a term of up to 10 years in prison.
Days after his gun trial, Hunter is slated to face a second trial on nine tax charges in California.

President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> will return to the White House this weekend to discuss the Middle East crisis with his national security team, cutting short a trip to his Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, home. 
Biden will return to Washington to “consult with his national security team about events in the Middle East,” the White House <a href="https://www.cnn.com/middleeast/live-news/israel-hamas-war-gaza-news-04-13-24/h_96747590ce7877721f328f5e1db92421" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> Saturday. The announcement comes amid rising tensions as American officials <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-warns-iran-to-not-launch-attack-on-israel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">say</a> Iran is expected to launch an attack on Israel. 
Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to be at the meeting with Biden, according to CNN. The meeting will come hours after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/irans-irgc-seizes-israeli-linked-ship-near-strait-of-hormuz?topStoryPosition=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">seized</a> a ship near the Strait of Hormuz linked to Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Group shipping company. 
“The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps have seized a Portuguese civilian cargo ship, belonging to an EU member, claiming Israeli ownership,” Israel Katz, Israel’s foreign minister, <a href="https://twitter.com/Israel_katz/status/1779110154300002423" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> on X. “The Ayatollah regime of @khamenei_ir is a criminal regime that supports Hamas’ crimes and is now conducting a pirate operation in violation of international law.”
“I call on the European Union and the free world to immediately declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guards corps as a terrorist organization and to sanction Iran now,” he added.

The U.S. has called for Iran to release control of the ship, saying it would hold the country accountable. 
“We call on Iran to release the vessel &amp; its international crew immediately,” National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said in a statement. “It must be condemned unequivocally, &amp; we will work with our partners to hold Iran to account for its actions.” 
On Friday, Biden was asked at the National Action Network Convention about when Iran was expected to attack Israel. “I don’t want to say,” Biden said. “I don’t want to get into secure information, but my expectation is sooner than later.”
“We are devoted to the defense of Israel. We will support Israel,” he added. “We will defend — help defend Israel. And Iran will not succeed.”
