Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/this-is-an-attack-on-all-women-sen-tuberville-sounds-off-on-biden-admins-transgender-policies" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tommy Tuberville</a> (R-AL) joined the Daily Wire sports podcast “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/crain-and-company" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Crain &amp; Company</a>” Thursday to discuss how his bipartisan bill in the Senate will address two problems he sees with college athletes making money off of their name, image, and likeness (NIL). 
NIL rules, which went into effect in July 2021, allow D1, D2, and D3 NCAA athletes to be compensated for their name, image, or likeness being used for profit. Tuberville, along with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), <a href="https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/colorado-returning-to-big-12-league-presidents-approve-membership-as-buffaloes-consider-leaving-pac-12/">introduced</a> legislation Tuesday aimed at addressing some of the issues with NIL many people are concerned about. Tuberville, a retired college football coach at Auburn, told hosts Blain Crain and David Cone that he sees two big problems with the current NIL rules.
“One of the things is get[ting] the money out of recruiting,” Tuberville said. “The problem is that Supreme Court says these athletes can make money. And I&#8217;m good with that. It&#8217;s called a name, image, and likeness. It has nothing to do with recruiting … We&#8217;ve got to get out of that.”

In June 2021, the Supreme Court ruled unanimously against the NCAA’s argument that its rules are exempt from antitrust laws. The NCAA argued that it was seeking to preserve amateurism in college sports and that the rules &#8220;widen choices for consumers by distinguishing college sports from professional sports,&#8221; <a href="https://www.npr.org/2021/06/21/1000310043/the-supreme-court-sides-with-ncaa-athletes-in-a-narrow-ruling">according</a> to NPR. The ruling was considered a huge win for college athletes, who had been denied nearly all possibilities of making money while playing in college. 
The bipartisan bill, titled the “Protecting Athletes, Schools, and Sports (PASS) Act of 2023,&#8221; would set some requirements for NIL, including requiring agents and collectives to register with a regulating body, setting up a website to publish anonymized NIL data, and requiring all NIL contracts to be disclosed within 30 days, CBS Sports <a href="https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/sens-joe-manchin-tommy-tuberville-introduce-bill-addressing-nil-transfer-rules-in-college-athletics/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Tuberville said he was all for athletes making money, but he’s concerned about some conferences and states having an advantage over others with the current NIL rules, especially when it comes to players transferring to another school, the other major problem the senator wants to address.

“I&#8217;m all for money, and I&#8217;m for them getting paid and transferred. But we want to go back to the old route,” Tuberville said. “And most of the coaches, administrators, and even some parents said, ‘Let&#8217;s go back to the old rule where you can transfer, but you got to sit out a year and you still make money.’ If the collectors want to pay you money, so be it.”
The bipartisan bill would require athletes to complete three years of residency at a university before being eligible to transfer without penalty. Under the current rules, undergraduate athletes can transfer one time at any point and have immediate eligibility. 
While the senator admitted that he “wouldn’t wish” federal government involvement on anyone, he said this bill will ultimately help the NCAA deal with these NIL issues. 
“At the end of the day, you&#8217;re going to have to make a decision. College sports have to make a decision,&#8221; Tuberville said. &#8220;Do you want that one or two states are destroying everything else that you&#8217;ve got or you don&#8217;t want them to go out on their own?”

The attorney for NFL Hall of Fame quarterback <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/brett-favre" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brett Favre</a> told The Daily Wire’s “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/crain-and-company" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Crain and Company</a>” podcast Monday that his client has an open and shut case against two of the biggest names in sports media. 
Eric Herschmann joined the hosts of the sports podcast to discuss Favre’s recent legal challenges stemming from allegations that the former Green Bay Packers star misused state welfare funds to help build a volleyball facility for his alma mater, Southern Miss, where his daughter played volleyball. Herschmann argued that the state, not Favre, was at fault for mishandling millions of dollars and that sports media personalities Shannon Sharpe and Pat McAfee defamed his client when discussing the case. 
“Brett never got any of this money. They’re suing him for $5 million that went from the state agency that’s responsible for welfare funds and ended up in the pocket of another state agency, Southern Miss, and there’s some way they think that’s theft,” Herschmann argued.  
“There may be a problem within Mississippi … but this really has nothing to do with Brett,” the attorney added. Immediately after discovering the funds were taken from the state welfare agency, Favre returned the money, according to Herschmann.
Last September, former Executive Director of the Mississippi Department of Human Services John Davis pleaded guilty to conspiracy and theft relating to the $77 million welfare scandal, which is Mississippi’s largest public corruption case ever, <a href="https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/brett-favre-scandal-explained-ex-nfl-qb-is-accused-of-misusing-of-mississippi-state-welfare-funds/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to CBS. The Department of Justice accused four others of conspiring with Davis but did not name them. Favre has not been charged with any criminal wrongdoing. 
Following allegations that Favre was involved in the scandal, the Hall of Famer was dragged by Sharpe and McAfee. On his Fox Sports show with Skip Bayless, Sharpe referred to Favre as a “sleazeball” and said the quarterback must be “a sorry mofo to steal from the underserved.” Favre <a href="https://www.pennlive.com/sports/2023/02/brett-favre-suing-shannon-sharpe-pat-mcafee-for-saying-he-was-stealing-from-the-poor-people-of-mississippi.html">claims</a> that McAfee, who hosts his own show on Sirius XM, falsely referred to Favre as a “thief” who stole “from the underprivileged people of Mississippi.”

Favre sued both Sharpe and McAfee along with Mississippi’s state auditor last month for defamation. McAfee responded to the lawsuit on his show on February 27, but Sharpe has yet to comment on the lawsuit publically.

Herschmann told the “Crain and Company” hosts that McAfee has dug a hole for himself by continuing to discuss the scandal, and the attorney believes he has a “slam dunk” case against the media personality.
“Pat McAfee keeps talking about it. In all my years of being an attorney and being a prosecutor previously, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a defendant build a case against himself the way Pat is.”

Saving women’s sports should not require so much effort. 
Former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines, who was an All-American and Olympic qualifier, had aspirations of going to dental school this year. Instead, she’s engaged in a national fight to keep men from competing against women in collegiate athletics.
Riley sat down with us at “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/ep-243-riley-gaines-exposes-lia-thomas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Crain &amp; Company</a>” this week, and revealed some disturbing details regarding her time swimming against Lia Thomas. It was Lia, born William Thomas, who was ranked 462nd in men’s swimming before deciding to identify as a female, and subsequently compete on the University of Pennsylvania women’s team. This culminated with Thomas standing on the top podium and being crowned women’s national champion by the NCAA.
To make matters worse, during that championship event, Gaines said that she and the other female competitors were involuntarily subjected to Thomas, a fully grown male, undressing in the women’s locker room. This reportedly occurred despite several of Thomas’s teammates already having made Ivy League officials aware of their reluctance to share a locker room with males. What was the league’s response to those concerns? Gaines was told, ‘If you are uncomfortable seeing male genitalia, make use of our counseling resources.’ 
How is it that the feelings of one man outweigh those of multiple female athletes? As the father of a newborn girl, I hope I speak for many when I say, men do not belong in changing rooms with our daughters and sisters.
As for the competition itself, Gaines beat the odds when she tied Thomas in the 200m freestyle. Yet, during the award ceremony, the trophy was presented to the 6’1” Thomas. Gaines, being the courageous competitor she is, immediately questioned the NCAA official as to why her opponent was awarded the prize despite the race ending in a draw. Gaines claims she was told, ‘For photo purposes, Lia needs to hold the trophy, but we’ll mail yours.’”
Undoubtedly, this dubious PR stunt was not a unilateral decision made by some rogue representative, but rather, it serves as anecdotal evidence of a systemic ideology embedded within the philosophical fabric of our longest-standing institutions. Undergirding said philosophy is the new-age tenet that no biological or physical differences exist between the sexes. In certain factions of the population there seems to exist a narrow-minded fear that if men and women differ biologically, then this equates to one sex being superior. This is unfounded. 
Professional boxing categorizes by weight for a reason. The greatest welterweight fighters would find themselves at severe disadvantages against even mediocre heavyweights. This is not indicative of a less skilled fighter; rather, it points to a physical disparity that makes the contest unfair. These physical discrepancies are found even within the same sex, and manifest themselves most at the highest levels of competition.
The final piece of information Riley Gaines shared dealt with disturbing aspects of Lia Thomas’s private life. I will refrain from going into further detail here, but I mention it to highlight the lack of due diligence embarked upon by the NCAA before lifting Lia Thomas up as its transgender hero.
Remember, it was the NCAA, which seems to stand for ‘Never Cares About Athletes,’ that nominated Lia Thomas for Woman of the Year. How broken is our culture when the highest authoritative body in collegiate athletics not only affirms the idea that men can be women, but that a man can be the best woman?
Beyond the NCAA, our university system writ large is acting in a hypocritical manner when it attempts to simultaneously hold two opposing ideals. First, women’s sports matter and must be protected. Second, championship trophies and scholarship opportunities for women may be claimed by men.
As the father of a daughter, husband of a wife, and son of a mother, I can no longer stand on the sidelines and witness the erasure of female athletics.
Senator Tommy Tuberville summarized the situation quite well on our show recently when he said, “90% of the population is being held hostage by the other 10%.” He is correct, and it is past time for us to fight back. Women’s sports are reserved for women.

Daily Wire host Jake Crain&#8217;s Twitter thread detailing some disturbing allegations made about Lia Thomas&#8217; romantic and sexual life appears to have been censored by Twitter.
In conjunction with an exclusive <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/swim-champ-riley-gaines-drops-shocking-claims-about-lia-thomas-on-crain-co" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> with former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines on &#8220;Crain &amp; Company&#8221; Wednesday, Crain posted a 14-tweet-long thread revealing social media posts in which Thomas&#8217; social circle alludes to strange sexual fetishes and makes graphic references to transgender surgeries. Several hours after the tweets were posted, all except two were listed as unavailable on Twitter, leaving Crain, Gaines, and the public searching for answers.
&#8220;It looks like the vast majority of the tweets in this thread have been removed, is that a glitch or was it intentional @elonmusk?&#8221; Crain <a href="https://twitter.com/JakeCrain_/status/1626007614319472640?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a> Wednesday evening.
&#8220;Nothing posted was even opinionated. It was simply just bringing to light pictures already posted on a public page,&#8221; <a href="https://twitter.com/Riley_Gaines_/status/1626008701248192520?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gaines</a> replied. &#8220;More proof of media actively denying truth to fit their narrative.&#8221;
The Daily Wire reached out to Twitter Comms via direct message, but as of the publishing of this piece has not received a response. Neither Twitter Support nor CEO Elon Musk have their DMs open, and there is no way to contact Twitter directly.

Crain then linked to a separate Twitter thread from Nicole Wawro, who hosts &#8220;The Feminist Recovery Program&#8221; on social media. The tweet includes three screenshots of Instagram posts dealing with autogynephilia, or AGP, which Thomas liked on what appears to be his private account.

Stupidity hit a brand new high recently as the USC School of Social Work sent out a <a href="https://twitter.com/houmanhemmati/status/1612635584539033603/photo/1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">decree</a> eradicating the word ‘field’ from their curriculum because it is considered anti-black and anti-immigrant.
And all this does is make them anti-smart.
As the statement reads, &#8220;Specifically, we have decided to remove the term &#8216;field&#8217; from our curriculum and practice and replace it with &#8216;practicum.'&#8221;
They&#8217;re going to replace it with the word &#8216;practicum&#8217; — which sounds like some kind of spell you learn at Hogwarts. 
How does this tie into sports, you ask? Well, if we ban the word ‘field’ it will without a doubt have a direct effect on the world of sports.
What would we call our practice field? “Hey guys, make sure you are on the practicum on time.”
What in the hell is Justin Fields going to do?
Today, athletes compete in track and field. So now we have track and … practicum?
Don’t forget all of the stadiums that have the dirty ‘f’ word in them have to change too; can’t wait to catch a game at Lambeau Practicum.
The truth is nobody has ever been hurt by the word field, just like they aren’t hurt by mascots like the Braves, Indians, or Redskins. These same people who think they’re helping end racism aren’t smart enough to know they’re actually helping keep it alive. There is racism of all forms. It exists against black, white, brown, and every other group. But when we keep inventing ways to talk about it because it’s hip, it only fuels the fire.
Where racism exists we should not only disavow it but erase it. Instead we only add branches to an already sick tree.
So, no, USC Social School of Social Work, I won’t stop using the word field. In fact, I am going to make a concentrated effort to use it more.
Stop playing stupid games with serious things — and believe me when I say … THIS AIN’T IT.

Nobody gave TCU a shot versus Michigan last week except for me here on &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/can-tcu-shock-the-world-again-guest-steve-deace-ep-215" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Crain and Company</a>&#8221; and probably three other people and two aliens. And even though they were in the College Football Playoff there was still a cloud of doubt about whether or not they really deserved to be there.
They disproved that in a hurry against the Wolverines, and, after catching a few breaks, they now find themselves going against a Georgia roster that is more loaded than an NRA convention.
The Bulldogs are the better team and Vegas agrees as the line opened at 13.5.
TCU was able to sneak up on Michigan, which is evident considering Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy said they were going to turn the game into a smash fest if TCU ran their normal defensive structure.
Will they be able to do the same against Georgia?
In most circumstances, I would say yes, but there is one big problem this time.
Georgia not only played some close games during the regular season — including against Kent State — but they are coming off a sub-par performance in the semifinal. They have a quarterback who went from rags to riches and is the ultimate underdog. They are impossible to sneak up on.
I believe the game will play out as follows:
TCU will come out hot early, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are leading or tied after the first quarter, but then the switch will flip for Georgia.
The Dawgs won’t make the crucial mistakes in crucial situations like the Wolverines did. This offensive line won’t be confused by the 3-3-5 look, and the defense will shut down the run, making the Horned Frogs one-dimensional.
TCU Offensive Coordinator Garrett Riley will try to supplement the lack of run game with quarterback-designed runs for Max Duggan, true 11 on 11 ball, and a few of them will pop, but it won’t give them the push they need to keep Georgia off balance defensively.
Eventually, the dam will break on the TCU defense like it did against Michigan and this game will be over with 10 minutes to go in the fourth.
TCU has had a hell of a story in 2022, but it stops Monday night.

Okay, so we’ve all had our fun at the expense of the PAC-12 over what seems like decades.
While the negativity surrounding the departure of USC and UCLA to the BIG-10 is still swirling, next year&#8217;s PAC-12 is set to be the best it has been since I can remember.
Bo Nix just announced he’s returning for another year and Oregon has a chance to be special; Michael Pennix Jr. is coming back to what should be a loaded Washington team; Cam Rising will once again lead the back-to-back PAC-12 champs at Utah.
And, oh yea, USC just added Dorian Singer from Arizona and will return with Heisman winner Caleb Williams.
That isn’t even to mention what Jonathan Smith is building at Oregon State, coming off a 10-win season. And, of course, Chip Kelly and UCLA will be dangerous as usual.
One of the most surprising things most of these teams have (excluding USC’s defense) is a physical edge.
The days of finesse are gone, and if you take stock at each conference outside of the SEC you cannot find one better heading into next year. There are actually legit arguments that the PAC- 12 could be close to the SEC in 2023.
Yes, you heard that right.
Either way the star power will be immense and the contenders will be plentiful in what truly is looking like a renaissance year for the PAC-12.

Heading Into 2023, The PAC-12 Is The Second Best Conference In College Football

As big businesses grow and evolve, it’s amazing how their priorities change. It’s no different in the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/bowl-season-is-here-ep-206" target="_blank" rel="noopener">big business arena of college football</a>.
It used to be, back in the day, that any bowl game was a reward for the team. It was a way to send the older players off with one more game and hopefully one more win.
Nowadays, though, it seems if you aren’t playing for a chance at the title in the College Football Playoffs, bowl games are expendable. And for those in the position of having a chance to become a professional, it&#8217;s now a roadblock not an avenue.
Now, as I have said before, just because some guys decide to sit out a bowl game and make what, in most instances, is a smart business move, there are still some bowl games that do matter.
A great example of that is today’s matchup between Sun Belt Champ Troy and Conference USA champ UTSA. There will be no opt outs. These two teams are going full steam ahead into what should be a hell of a cure bowl as both try to secure their 12th win.
The harsh reality is this situation is now in the minority.
Most bowls have more backups than a driver&#8217;s license test — and the best attribute of the experience is the extra practice time for the young guys.
While the older crowd — or curmudgeons like my good friend David Cone — won’t like it, it is the new era of college football, the industrial revolution of the sport and it won’t be changing anytime soon.
There is a silver lining however, I can guarantee that in two years there will be six more bowl games that will definitely matter.
So, in aggregate, do bowl games matter anymore? Barely. But it’s fading fast.

Do College Bowl Games Matter Anymore?

Making smart business decisions is one of the main factors in determining someone’s success. We applaud people in the business world for consistently making risk averse decisions to achieve their lofty goals.
The same can be said for the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/are-too-many-players-opting-out-of-bowl-games-ep-200" target="_blank" rel="noopener">big business of football</a>. Notice I didn’t say ‘college’ or ‘NFL’ football because sometimes the two co-mingle.
In the specific case of players who have legitimate NFL draft hopes — statistics say only <a href="https://operations.nfl.com/journey-to-the-nfl/nfl-development-pipeline/college-player-development/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">1.6% of college players make it to the NFL</a> — opting out is the smart business move.
Make no mistake, I am not including opting out of the college football playoff — that is a different scenario. But in the end, outside of those playoff games, most bowl games are somewhat meaningless for the individual in these situations.
Imagine if you came from a bad socioeconomic background and you worked your way up to this point to have a chance to make money that will not only transform you, but your whole family for generations to come. Is that worth a bowl game outside of the CFP?
If, for your whole life, everyone around you was counting on you and this moment to be the chance to elevate everyone you care about the most, would you turn that down for the Duke&#8217;s Mayo Bowl?
The gut reaction is to say, ‘That’s being a bad teammate.’ Is it?
Or could it mean being a great family member? Or a smart business person?
Some guys who come from middle class or even well-off backgrounds don’t want to risk their chance to live out their childhood dream.
This isn’t like leaving after three games or halfway through the year. Nobody quit on their team during the regular season, it’s just a smart business move.
So before you go straight to the standard knee-jerk reaction and get on your moral high horse, consider the circumstance, because that may lead you to a different outcome.

Everyone Calm Down About Players Opting Out Of Bowl Games

Yesterday, the transfer portal window opened for everyone. To say it was wild is grossly misleading.
A barrage of big names entered college football’s version of free agency from all positions, but the number of quarterbacks who are &#8216;portaling&#8217; is off the charts.
There are some programs that can change their fortunes quickly and give hope to what looked like a turbulent quarterback situation. Names like Devin Leary, Luke Altmeyer, Austin Reed, D.J. Uiagalelei, Spencer Sanders along with many others are open for business.
This new transfer portal phenomenon reminds me of one of those home makeover shows and I keep waiting for someone to scream &#8220;move that bus!&#8221;
I am fine with 90% of it, but being able to transfer within the same conference — outside of your head coach getting fired — is the only part I don’t like.
It seems like it&#8217;s only a matter of time before the transfer portal becomes more important than high school recruiting.
At one point almost 900 players had entered the portal yesterday — an all time high for one day.
The difference between mixing NIL with high schoolers and mixing it with transfers is that the transfer is a much more informed decision. You know exactly the player you&#8217;re getting and he has the most invaluable trait there is: Experience.
The college football free agency era is upon us, and if coaches do not use it right, the players won’t be the only people looking for a new home.

How The Transfer Portal Is Rapidly Transforming College Football

On Thursday afternoon, November 16th, 2006, Coach Bo Schembechler addressed the University of Michigan football team within the hall that bears his name. Despite retiring from active coaching duties sixteen years prior, the iconic leader still made time to speak with the team when necessary — that Thursday it was necessary.
The undefeated Wolverines, ranked second in the country, were but 48 hours from facing their greatest rival — the number one ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. No man present that afternoon knew he was listening to Coach Bo’s final speech, but that was the case. Less than sixteen hours later, the winningest football coach in Michigan history, the man who went toe-to-toe with Woody Hayes, and so many others, died of heart failure.
I was incredibly fortunate to be a freshman quarterback on that Michigan team. Six months prior I was graduating from high school in South Georgia, now I sat seven rows away from the patriarch of Michigan football.
Coach Schembechler did not bring up our quest for a national championship, nor did he make mention of the ‘team down south.’ Instead, he reminded us of the opportunity that lay ahead, not merely the chance to win a football game, but the privilege we had of representing our team, our state, and our families, as so many great players had done before us.
Coach did not draw any X’s and O’s, or pass along any schematic advice, rather, he made clear his expectations for us as Michigan Men, reminding each player that our team’s greatness would ultimately be determined by the quality of husbands and fathers we would eventually become. 
The news of Coach Schembechler’s death spread swiftly the following morning. Even Ohio State held a vigil in his honor, and offered to postpone the pending contest — a true testament to just how much respect can exist between the most bitter of rivals. Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr graciously declined the gesture of postponement, and the stage was set in the Horseshoe, under the lights, for the first and only No.1 vs. No. 2 matchup in the history of the rivalry.
After a 60-minute shootout for the ages, which many lauded as “The Game of the Century,” Ohio prevailed 42-39, propelling the Buckeyes to their first outright Big Ten conference championship in over twenty years. With this, they earned a berth in the national championship, and their star quarterback Troy Smith walked away with the Heisman Trophy.
Sixteen years later, the stakes are just as high. Michigan and Ohio State will once again meet in Columbus as undefeated foes. The division, the conference, the college football playoff, and the Heisman trophy are all on the line. 
The Buckeyes are ranked second nationally, and have beaten every opponent this season by double digits. Michigan sits at third, and is looking to win the Big Ten championship in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2003/04. Out of the previous 116 installments of a rivalry known simply as “The Game,” twelve of those matchups came with both programs ranked in the top five — with the home team having won ten of those contests.
Come Saturday at high noon, more than 100,000 spectators will gather in Columbus, and another twenty million will watch from their televisions, to witness yet another prime example of what makes college football great. Yes, there will be vitriol, yes there will be contempt, but no great rivalry can survive on hate alone, for without respect, the fabric of the feud falls apart.
I will neither have the honor of sitting in Michigan’s meeting room this week, nor will I travel with the team as they make their 188 mile trek into hostile territory. I will not take any snaps, or score any touchdowns for the Wolverines on Saturday. Instead, I will watch from home, this time as a husband and a father, and I will reminisce, as I do every year on this week, back to the fifteen minutes of wisdom I was able to soak up from the final address of Coach Bo Schembechler.
Win, lose, or draw, I will sing “The Victors” proudly, for I know I’ve done my part, to the best of my abilities, to live in accordance with the Michigan mantra: THOSE WHO STAY WILL BE CHAMPIONS.

The College Football Playoff rankings <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/ep-189-cfp-rankings-reaction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">were released last night</a> and while there will be discussion on why team &#8216;A&#8217; is here and team &#8216;B&#8217; is there, I wanted to go ahead and give my prediction on the final four heading into rivalry weekend.
Give me Georgia beating LSU to secure the number one spot.

I do think the Buckeyes sneak past the Wolverines to lock up the number two seed. 
Now, here is where I see a little chaos.
I think Kansas State will beat Kansas this weekend. They will then go on to beat TCU in the Big-12 championship game, knocking the Horned Frogs out of the playoff.
I see USC dispatching Notre Dame, then doing the same to either Oregon or Washington in the Pac 12 championship game. It won’t be an easy task, but I think they will find a way to do it — so go ahead and give me the Trojans at number three.
That leaves one spot. And even though DJU has regressed closer to his old form rather than his new form, I do think Clemson wins their next two to lock up the fourth seed.
That would give four diff power 5 conferences representation in the playoff with only the Big-12 being left out of the dance.
Georgia vs Clemson should be a nice rematch of last year’s opening week and USC vs Ohio State would have more scoring than Jake Gyllenhaall at a sorority party. 
A lot can happen, and predictions are fragile. 
But the way I was brought up, scared money don’t make money.
