Candace Owens’ DailyWire+ docuseries “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/convicting-a-murderer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Convicting a Murderer</a>” released its finale on Thursday, the most shocking episode in the 10-part true crime series. 
Viewers of “Convicting a Murderer” have <a href="https://twitter.com/GarrettHensonKS/status/1716819718940889166" target="_blank" rel="noopener">expressed</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/SaltyMom10/status/1715380929806389488" target="_blank" rel="noopener">astonishment</a> at how far filmmakers of Netflix’s “Making a Murderer” went to portray convicted murderer Steven Avery as an innocent victim of corrupt law enforcement in the murder of Teresa Halbach. 
The Netflix series sparked a worldwide fascination in the case, attracting around 19 million viewers, but “Convicting a Murderer” pulls back the curtain on what viewers missed in “Making a Murderer.” The 10-episode series contains evidence omitted from the Netflix series and exclusive interviews with subjects not included in “Making a Murderer.”
Shortly after the release of Owens’ docuseries, Avery <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/is-steven-avery-directing-supporters-to-tank-candace-owens-convicting-a-murderer-review-score" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appeared to be directing</a> his supporters to tank the Rotten Tomatoes’ audience review score of “Convicting a Murderer.” Avery’s apparent move from behind bars, however, didn’t stop the docuseries from hitting the #1 spot on Rotten Tomatoes’ “Best Documentary TV Shows” shortly after its debut, where it sat above FX’s “Welcome to Wrexham” and Apple TV’s “The Super Models” for over a week. And despite Avery supporters writing bad reviews for “Convicting a Murderer,” the DailyWire+ series continues to boast an impressive Rotten Tomatoes audience score of <a href="https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/convicting_a_murderer/s01?fbclid=IwAR0fto9KzgL8uQJRxDW-QmYLBw46alCEUrKrW1PEhYNVmI7jTT1OLSj6Y7Y" target="_blank" rel="noopener">77%</a>.

<h3>Episode 1: “An Unraveling Narrative”</h3>
Owens comes out swinging right from the start in “Convicting a Murderer.” In the first episode, she compares the Avery case and his subsequent support to how the Black Lives Matter movement exploded after the death of Michael Brown in 2014. 
“Did white people just kinda want their Michael Brown moment?” she asks in the documentary. “Was this maybe the beginning of white lives matter?” 
In episode one, police reports from Avery’s younger years unveil a significantly more alarming criminal history than previously disclosed, and the intentions of the “Making a Murderer” filmmakers begin to come to light. 
“So, when you look a little closer at Steven Avery’s history, you see a very different side to the man that we’ve seen portrayed in ‘Making a Murderer,’” Owens says in the episode.

“When I saw these letters, my jaw just hit the floor,” Owens says. 
The episode also goes into detail about some of Avery’s family relationships that were left out in “Making a Murderer,” such as his estranged children, alleged violence toward his sister, and alleged abuse of his daughter.

The accusations against Avery for having an inappropriate relationship with his minor niece were not disclosed in “Making a Murderer,” as “Convicting a Murderer” gives viewers a deeper look into allegations made against Avery by his own family members, and Steven’s brother Earl is asked if he thinks Steven is guilty. 
The episode details a past encounter between Avery and Teresa Halbach that was left out of “Making a Murderer.” “Convicting a Murderer” also reveals some strange purchases Avery made in the weeks leading up to Halbach’s murder.

“If the filmmakers were honestly trying to tell a complete story of what happened that day, why would they omit so many different things?” Owens asks in the episode. 
The episode details important facts from the case that were omitted from “Making a Murderer,” such as a revealing answering machine message from Halbach, a strange decision made by Avery before he placed a call, and important context on a call between a police officer and dispatch that “Making a Murderer” filmmakers left out.

In episode 5, Owens looks into allegations that Manitowoc County Sheriff Deputy Andy Colborn and investigator James Lenk planted evidence on Avery after he sued the county for $36 million. The episode shows that while the filmmakers of “Making a Murderer” asked a lot of questions about Manitowoc’s involvement in the investigation of Teresa Halbach’s murder, they didn’t tell the full story. 
“I don’t think anyone can argue with the fact that ‘Making a Murderer’ left us with a lot of questions and very few answers,” Owens says in the episode. “And actually I think that’s one of the reasons it was so successful. Because it didn’t just end when the final credits rolled. People wanted to find the answers to those questions.” 
“Manitowoc’s Involvement” answers key questions, such as why Manitowoc County officers were involved in investigating the Avery case, whether Colborn and Lenk had a reason to hold a grudge against Avery, and how the infamous RAV4 key was found on the final search of Avery’s home.

In the episode, Owens also looks into editing choices made by the filmmakers of the hit Netflix docuseries “Making a Murderer.” 
“After ‘Making a Murderer,’ the filmmakers were questioned about some of their editing choices by several news outlets,” Owens says in the episode. “They responded typically the same way: That those questioning them simply misunderstood their intentions or thought that they knew more than they really did. But that still doesn’t explain why they omitted some of the most important evidence.”
In episode 6, viewers will find answers to key questions raised by “Making a Murderer,” such as how the RAV4 key was found in Avery’s trailer and why Halbach’s DNA wasn’t found on the RAV4 key.

The seventh installment of “Convicting a Murderer” features key pieces from Dassey’s confession to interrogators, including describing the murder of Teresa Halbach and his uncle’s actions after they killed her. Episode 7 also delves into one of the biggest bombshells in “Making a Murderer”: the blood vial. 
“It is so important to stress that prior to this date of February 27th, the police did not have Brendan Dassey on their radar at all. … Now they’re talking to him and he’s saying things about a golf cart, he’s talking about a bonfire that he had with his uncle Steven. He’s talking about seeing Teresa Halbach’s toes and belly and forehead in the fire,” Owens says. “I mean, this was a major breakthrough in the case.”
Episode 7 also reveals more information about a bullet found in Avery’s garage that had Halbach’s DNA on it and how “Making a Murderer” filmmakers edited court testimony on the discussion of the bullet. Viewers will discover the importance of Dassey’s confession in the case’s timeline and why there was a hole in the top of a vial containing Avery’s blood, which his supporters point to as proof that blood was planted to frame him for Halbach’s murder. 
The revelations in the episode are devastating for those defending Avery, according to Owens. 
“For Steven Avery supporters, it really, at this point, is a faith and not a science,” she says.

This episode shows that the filmmakers of the Netflix series “Making a Murderer” left out a key detail of the investigation — that a cadaver dog used by investigators found Halbach’s jean rivets in Avery’s burn pit.
“It’s worth reminding that Brendan Dassey had confessed to burning Teresa Halbach’s clothing, but you don’t see anything about her clothing or the jean rivets in ‘Making a Murderer,’” Owens says. “And it’s not the only detail that they left out.”
The episode also dives into how Avery changed his story about the burn pit multiple times when being questioned by police. The convicted murderer initially told investigators that he didn’t have a fire on October 31, 2005,  the day Halbach went missing. He later changed his story and admitted he did have a fire on the 31st but added that his nephew Brendan Dassey was with him. 
“Why didn’t Steven tell investigators about Brendan being with him that night originally?” Owens asks in the episode. “Because Brendan should have been his alibi. Wouldn’t Steven want them to go talk to Brendan so he could confirm everything that Steven said happened that night? If nothing happened, that is, why not say that right away?” 
The episode then goes into detail about the bone and tooth fragments found in Avery’s burn pit and a nearby burn barrel.

“I think it’s very apparent in ‘Making a Murderer’ why they made the decision to leave out some things. And I think it’s because those things couldn’t have been explained away,” says Owens.

Following the release on Thursday of &#8220;CAM&#8221; episode 7, the Daily Wire podcast hosts dived into why Walsh never saw Dassey as a sympathetic character unlike how he was portrayed in the hit Netflix series &#8220;Making a Murderer.&#8221;
Owen&#8217;s new 10-part series unveils the shocking truth behind one of the most controversial criminal cases in recent history. Dassey&#8217;s Uncle Steven Avery&#8217;s case was popularized by the success of the Emmy-Award-winning series, in which convicted criminal Avery was portrayed as an innocent victim of corrupt law enforcement in the murder of Teresa Halbach.
Walsh told Owens that he finds it &#8220;disturbing&#8221; when he hears people say despite seeing the evidence that proves Dassey is guilty, that he somehow shouldn&#8217;t be in prison because he was 16 or because has a low IQ.
&#8220;When you present a lot of the facts that you present in a &#8216;Convicting a Murderer,&#8217; that&#8217;s when yeah, you get to the pivot where they say, well, even if he is guilty, he shouldn&#8217;t be in prison because he was 16 and all this kind of stuff,&#8221; Walsh told the host.
&#8220;And that I find pretty disturbing, considering if you&#8217;re willing to admit that he&#8217;s guilty, he&#8217;s obviously guilty as hell,&#8221; he added. &#8220;What if you are capable of doing something like that to a person at any age, it already means that you&#8217;re not fit to be free and to be out in society. And it&#8217;s a little bit like the insanity defense.” 
&#8220;And in this case, they&#8217;re saying he&#8217;s not culpable because of, you know, mental stupidity, likability, mental issues, age, whatever,&#8221; Walsh continued. &#8220;Well, even then, you can make the argument that if he did that because he wasn&#8217;t culpable, then he&#8217;s even more of a danger to society because &#8230; you can&#8217;t reform that.&#8221;
Owens pointed out that on Reddit threads, people keep talking about Avery&#8217;s and Dassey&#8217;s low IQ, and she asked Walsh how that would even change things.

&#8220;As if that changes things where we go, okay, well, I know that you raped and murdered and burned this individual, but you have a very low IQ,&#8221; she added.
&#8220;I think if you looked at the average IQ of violent criminals, it&#8217;s almost always going to be pretty low. Their average IQ is probably lower than the people who are not in prison,&#8221; Walsh replied.
Owens then showed a clip from Episode 7 of Dassey&#8217;s interrogation when he told authorities that Avery wanted him to keep raping Halbach.
Owens said it was this part that made people &#8220;really sad for Brendan&#8221; and she said it even sparked a conspiracy theory, which wasn&#8217;t true, &#8220;that the police somehow poisoned Brendan to pretend that these things happened because they wanted Stephen Avery so bad and actually had nothing to do with anything. And he was completely innocent.&#8221;
In the new series, Owens shows the portion of Dassey confessing to raping Halbach, something she said was &#8220;conveniently left out&#8221; of the Netflix series.
&#8220;And so it&#8217;s very hard for me to understand why the sympathy is being placed on Brendan and not on the 22-year-old [woman] who was brutally raped and stabbed and subsequently shot and burned in a pit in somebody&#8217;s yard,&#8221; said Owens. 
Walsh agreed and said that after watching the Netflix series and hearing Dassey&#8217;s description of the murder to police, he believed his age had no bearing on his guilt or innocence.
&#8220;When I was 16, I was peer pressured to jump from the top of my friend&#8217;s roof into a wading pool,&#8221; the Daily Wire host said. &#8220;And I did it because I was kind of like 16-year-old. And it&#8217;s a very bad idea to do that &#8230; but when it comes to heinous, murderous crimes, I would think it&#8217;d be obvious to most people that that doesn&#8217;t qualify.&#8221;
Walsh said the most important part is that he believes the police and investigators involved in the case, not only &#8220;captured two murder psychopaths&#8221; but he believes &#8220;they prevented future victims.&#8221;

Matt Walsh Talks ‘Convicting’ With Candace Owens, Says Sympathy For Murderer Brendan Dassey Is ‘Disturbing’

Candace Owens examines the details of the disturbing rape and murder confession from Steven Avery’s nephew Brendan Dassey in episode 7 of “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/convicting-a-murderer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Convicting a Murderer</a>.” 
The episode, titled “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/ep-7-the-vial-of-blood" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Vial of Blood</a>,” features key pieces from Dassey’s confession to interrogators, including describing the murder of Teresa Halbach and his uncle’s actions after they killed her. Episode 7 also delves into one of the biggest bombshells in “Making a Murderer”: the blood vial. 
“It is so important to stress that prior to this date of February 27th, the police did not have Brendan Dassey on their radar at all. … Now they’re talking to him and he’s saying things about a golf cart, he’s talking about a bonfire that he had with his uncle Steven. He’s talking about seeing Teresa Halbach’s toes and belly and forehead in the fire,” Owens says. “I mean, this was a major breakthrough in the case.”
Episode 7, released on DailyWire+ on Thursday, also reveals more information about a bullet found in Avery’s garage that had Halbach’s DNA on it and how “Making a Murderer” filmmakers edited court testimony on the discussion of the bullet. Viewers will discover the importance of Dassey’s confession in the case’s timeline and why there was a hole in the top of a vial containing Avery’s blood, which his supporters point to as proof that blood was planted to frame him for Halbach’s murder. 
The revelations in the episode are devastating for those defending Avery, according to Owens.

‘Convicting A Murderer’ Recap: Candace Owens Examines Brendan Dassey’s Disturbing Confession In Episode 7 

We are continuing our dive into my docuseries, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/convicting-a-murderer#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Convicting a Murderer,”</a> and as I’ve heard from many viewers, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/ep-6-the-key-the-license-plate-call" target="_blank" rel="noopener">episode 6</a> (which just came out last Thursday) is the episode that changed the game. This is the episode that reveals the true lengths the documentary makers of “Making a Murderer” went to in order to position Steven Avery as an innocent man. For people who have never watched the Netflix docuseries or haven’t kept up with “Convicting a Murderer,” this episode is the perfect time to join, and it makes clear how stories can be easily manipulated to create a desired narrative. 
Detective Andrew Colborn endured an exorbitant amount of stress after the Netflix documentary premiered because people believed what they were watching was actual, chronological footage from the testimony. What they didn’t realize was that much of the footage of Colborn had been copied and pasted. Colborn ended up suing Netflix because of the false depiction of his testimony.

In “Making a Murderer,” Colborn’s body language comes across as suspicious when he testifies about his call to dispatch. But what viewers were not aware of was that some of Colborn’s reaction shots were from different parts of the trial. Three of them were taken about 45 minutes earlier in the trial. In one, he is just waiting for his first question.

He sits up later in that shot, and the documentary makers use it when Dean Strang, Avery’s attorney, says he is going to play the dispatch call.

It becomes their go-to shot of Colborn. They use it again less than a minute later, and then they use it a third time, again, out of place. What really happened before Strang played the call looks to me as though Colborn is just simply bored out of his mind.

When Strang poses the infamous integrity question, he asks, “This is the first time your integrity has been questioned?” Colborn’s actual reaction is what they use last when they ask about the license plate. Viewers were led to believe Colborn was lying because he looks uncomfortable as he sits, wringing his hands as though he’s been caught.

In actuality, the trial footage stays on Strang when he asks about the plate. The next time Colborn appears in the footage, he’s answering an altogether different question. Furthermore, Colborn’s testimony about the car as it was portrayed had been edited; viewers, again, did not realize this.
Avery’s defense attorneys ask Colborn about the dispatch call after finding the car: “Well, you can understand how someone listening to that might think that you were calling in a license plate that you were looking at on the back end of a 1999 Toyota.” His response in the docuseries is a nervous “yes.” But in real life, that question and answer exchange never happened. Attorney Kratz objected and that objection was sustained. Colborn’s “yes” was an answer to the exact opposite question: “This call sounded like hundreds of other license plates or registration checks you’ve done through dispatch before?” That is the question to which Colborn answered “yes.” The call was not suspicious. It was perfectly ordinary.
Obviously, the documentary makers seem to have manipulated the film to create a testimony that was not accurate, and it is important to ask why. If Colborn’s testimony is consistent with what they originally presented, why did they doctor it? Why did they want to manipulate their audience? It’s almost as though they needed to have a bad guy. But Colborn is not that guy. If they really thought Steven Avery was framed by the police, they wouldn’t have had to edit a testimony to show the truth.
There is no justification for that. It is utterly unethical. And we must keep asking questions.

In Episode 6 of “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/convicting-a-murderer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Convicting a Murderer</a>,” Candace Owens shreds the narrative surrounding the suspicious discovery of the RAV4 key in Steven Avery’s bedroom. 
The episode, titled “The Key &amp; the License Plate Call,” was released Thursday and features more details surrounding the key to Teresa Halbach’s vehicle being found by Manitowoc County law enforcement officers that many people allege was planted in Avery’s bedroom by police. In the episode, Owens also looks into editing choices made by the filmmakers of the hit Netflix docuseries “Making a Murderer.” 
“After ‘Making a Murderer,’ the filmmakers were questioned about some of their editing choices by several news outlets,” Owens says in the episode. “They responded typically the same way: That those questioning them simply misunderstood their intentions or thought that they knew more than they really did. But that still doesn&#8217;t explain why they omitted some of the most important evidence.”
In episode 6, viewers will find answers to key questions raised by “Making a Murderer,” such as how the RAV4 key was found in Avery’s trailer and why Halbach’s DNA wasn’t found on the RAV4 key. 
“The key was absolutely the biggest piece of evidence that viewers to this day believe was planted. Lt. Lenk and Sgt. Colborn were just in Avery’s bedroom the prior Saturday night and they didn’t see the key in that cabinet. And they were also in Avery’s trailer on other occasions and still somehow missed it,” Owens says. “The key, therefore, became this huge conspiracy theory.”

‘Convicting A Murderer’ Recap: Candace Owens Dissects Narrative Surrounding RAV4 Key In Episode 6

Since releasing my docuseries “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/convicting-a-murderer#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Convicting a Murderer</a>,” one question I have been asked is, when did I become interested in true crime? While I have always liked true crime stories, this docuseries is about more than just crime. It’s about why society turns villains into heroes, how the media manipulates stories, and how lies become viewed as truth on a grand scale. When I began my political journey, I was fascinated by the concerted effort of culture, mainstream media, and school systems all working together on one thing: creating minds. Once I realized the extent to which <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-untold-truth-of-the-matthew-shepard-story" target="_blank" rel="noopener">I had been brainwashed</a>, I wanted to know how it had happened in the first place. How had I become brainwashed by their efforts? I have been examining how this is possible ever since — and enlarging that examination to the entire world.
Psychosis is a mental illness in which someone loses contact with reality. Mass psychosis is when a major part of society follows some identified leaders’ directives, guiding in one direction or another, regardless of what any data shows. Mass psychosis has plagued society throughout history, but as I have lived through some, all have been intriguing to me. COVID, for example, was an occurrence of mass psychosis. “Experts” convinced people that everyone was dying, and we were facing another bubonic plague. It was effective — and that fascinates me. I was interested in the mass psychosis that took place during Black Lives Matter, which is why <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/videos/the-greatest-lie-ever-sold" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“The Greatest Lie Ever Sold”</a> was my first project with The Daily Wire. I wanted to explore how people became convinced that George Floyd was not just a person who died an unfortunate death but was, in fact, a hero. How did people get to the point they were being baptized at the location of his death? How did that happen?
When I paired my love of studying psychology with my interest in this period of heightened propaganda and a cultural battle for minds, I naturally ended up focusing on the mainstream media. They are the most potent form of brainwashing in existence today — and they are everywhere, fighting for minds. Obviously then, I was interested in Netflix’s docuseries “Making a Murderer.” When it came out, it was incredibly successful. People were not just convinced that Steven Avery was not guilty, they formed what can only be described as a cult — a Steven Avery cult. In later episodes of “Convicting a Murderer,” we see that people wanted to marry him; they cried for him. But the first four episodes show what kind of man Avery was his entire lifetime. He was nothing short of a monster. How are we turning villains into heroes — and why?
When the filmmakers of “Making a Murderer” started their project, they probably set out just to cover the story. The man was in prison for 12 years for a crime he didn’t commit. So to be exonerated and murder someone two years later? It is quite a story. But it’s a story these two female filmmakers ended up creating with an angle. They said they didn’t have an angle, but they did. They told Avery they believed him, and they were forthcoming with the view they had for the film. But Steven Avery is a monster. And to pretend you are agnostic or objective is just dishonest.

Regardless of their original intent, what these two documentary-makers had was a perfect media firestorm. There was an anti-police sentiment already building in the country, so they made their series which presents plausibility that this person was being set up by police in this glorious $36 million lawsuit. The reason the media picked up “Making a Murderer” is not because they cared about Avery’s victim, Teresa Halbach, or Steven Avery. The reason they picked it up is because the media knew they could extract a certain narrative they were interested in perpetuating at that time, which was that police are rotten and should be protested because they aren’t only after just black men but they are after white men too. So Avery became their icon.
Here I was again wondering how the human mind can bend so outlandishly to believe lies as truth. There were such obvious answers people refused to accept: the last place Halbach was seen, her discomfort around Avery, her car outside his lot, and the number of times he changed his story. This was another example of people wanting to believe an anti-hero narrative, which we not only see in real life but also in fantasy narratives. We now have a story behind the Joker so we will feel sympathy for him because of his background. We know Maleficent&#8217;s history so we sympathize with her character who has a heart. We are in a time when we are trying to turn villains into heroes. It’s everywhere. But some people do not need to be unearthed to have their legacy cleaned up.
We are also in a period of excuses. There is no accountability. I blame a lot of this on what I call new-age therapy. I speak out against the younger generation of psychologists and psychiatrists who refuse to give people the tools they need to correct their lives and, instead, give them excuses: “You did a bad thing? Let’s talk about your childhood and figure out what happened because it’s not really your fault.” In “old” therapy, psychologists and psychiatrists helped people get their lives together. But not now. This has spread to a nationwide issue, and culture reinforces the “excuse” sentiment. When George Floyd died, BLM raced into Target, stole flat screen televisions, and the CEO of Target’s response was, “We understand.” The CEO of a major corporation was evidently teaching that if you have a feeling and you’re upset, you are authorized to become a criminal.
A big part of the problem at large is that some of these <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/youre-not-stuck-youre-allowed-to-be-better">people are spiritually void</a>, and they are looking to fill that void with something, with anything. It is impossible not to seek some kind of spiritualism, so when that spiritualism is misplaced, situations can get very scary, very fast. That is part of what we see in “Convicting a Murderer.” Some people who heard Avery’s story were so overtaken by his story that they were putting Avery in the place of the void they felt.
There are huge facts coming out in future episodes. It was an interesting experience to unpack the evidence that was left out of “Making a Murderer” in order to soften his past crimes. The Truther community is going to have a difficult time when these episodes air because there is just no way to defend him when everything is revealed.

“Convicting a Murderer” is now the <a href="https://www.rottentomatoes.com/browse/tv_series_browse/genres:documentary~sort:popular" target="_blank" rel="noopener">most popular</a> documentary TV show, sitting ahead of FX’s “Welcome to Wrexham” and Apple TV’s “The Super Models.” The DailyWire+ series, which reveals what filmmakers left out of the popular Netflix series “Making a Murderer,” premiered on September 7 and released <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/ep-5-manitowoc-s-involvement" target="_blank" rel="noopener">episode 5</a> of the 10-part series Thursday. 
The Netflix series “Making a Murderer” portrayed convicted criminal Steven Avery as an innocent victim of corrupt law enforcement in the murder of Teresa Halbach. “Making a Murderer” sparked a worldwide fascination in the case, attracting around 19 million viewers, but “Convicting a Murderer” pulls back the curtain on what viewers missed in “Making a Murderer.” 
“Convicting a Murderer” currently holds a <a href="https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/convicting_a_murderer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">71% audience score</a> on Rotten Tomatoes even after Avery <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/is-steven-avery-directing-supporters-to-tank-candace-owens-convicting-a-murderer-review-score" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appeared</a> to be directing his supporters to tank the audience review score of Owens’ docuseries. 
“IMPORTANT: Steven is asking for all his supporters to flood Rotten Tomatoes and give ‘Convicting a Murderer’ a bad review,” reads a post on the 36,000-member Facebook group called “Steven Avery is INNOCENT.” 
“This garbage and vitriol is NOT TRUE and we need our community to step up and let … Owens know that STEVEN AVERY IS INNOCENT!” the post added. 
Before the post, “Convicting a Murderer” was boasting an average review score in the 90s, but is now seeing a drop in that score, down to 71%. Notably, it was just hours after this Facebook post was issued that “CAM” was flooded with bad reviews.
Despite the efforts of Avery’s supporters to tank the audience score, it’s clear audiences love the series.

“Episode 5 of ‘Convicting a Murderer’ has been released today and all I can say is WOW,” X user Tuesday Gazette <a href="https://twitter.com/TuesdayGazette/status/1704909034850226476?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “The misleading narrative from the original #stevenavery doc is extremely disappointing.”

Episode 5 of “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/convicting-a-murderer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Convicting a Murderer</a>,” starring Candace Owens, was released on DailyWire+ Thursday and dives into Steven Avery’s $36 million lawsuit against Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, for his wrongful conviction in 1985.
In “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/ep-5-manitowoc-s-involvement" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Manitowoc’s Involvement</a>,” Owens looks into allegations that Manitowoc County Sheriff Deputy Andy Colborn and investigator James Lenk planted evidence on Avery after he sued the county for $36 million. The episode shows that while the filmmakers of “Making a Murderer” asked a lot of questions about Manitowoc’s involvement in the investigation of Teresa Halbach’s murder, they didn’t tell the full story. 
“I don’t think anyone can argue with the fact that ‘Making a Murderer’ left us with a lot of questions and very few answers,” Owens says in the episode. “And actually I think that’s one of the reasons it was so successful. Because it didn’t just end when the final credits rolled. People wanted to find the answers to those questions.” 
“Manitowoc’s Involvement” answers key questions, such as why Manitowoc County officers were involved in investigating the Avery case, whether Colborn and Lenk had a reason to hold a grudge against Avery, and how the infamous RAV4 key was found on the final search of Avery’s home. 
“Why would these officers risk their own lives and livelihoods, their own freedom, to frame a man so that somebody else might avoid paying a lawsuit?” Owens asks. 
The Netflix series “Making a Murderer” portrayed Avery as an innocent victim of corrupt law enforcement in the murder of Halbach, sparking a worldwide fascination in the case and attracting around 19 million viewers.

In the episode titled “Shifting Timelines,” viewers will hear 15-second audio from a dispatch call that sheds light on the Steven Avery case. “Shifting Timelines” also highlights some of the disturbing behavior Avery showcased before murdering 25-year-old photographer Teresa Halbach. 
“If the filmmakers were honestly trying to tell a complete story of what happened that day, why would they omit so many different things?” Owens asks in the episode. 
The episode details important facts from the case that were left out of “Making a Murderer,” such as a revealing answering machine message from Halbach, a strange decision made by Avery before he placed a call, and important context on a call between a police officer and dispatch that “Making a Murderer” filmmakers left out.
“These are all things that if you’re really trying to tell a full story, then you should include it because it’s a part of the case. These are the facts,” Owens says.

‘Convicting A Murderer’ Recap: Episode 4 Reveals Bombshell Dispatch Audio, Answering Machine Message

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/candace-owens" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Candace Owens</a> appeared on “The Roseanne Barr Podcast” Thursday and discussed various topics, including her explosive new documentary “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/convicting-a-murderer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Convicting a Murderer</a>.”
&#8220;Making a Murderer&#8221; was a hit for Netflix when it premiered in 2015. It explored the details of Steven Avery being found guilty of murdering photographer Teresa Halbach, casting doubt on Avery&#8217;s guilt by omitting key details from the investigation and trial.
Owens described her new series as “apolitical” and noted how people on both the left and right fell for the documentary makers’ deceptive tactics that made Avery look innocent of the murder he was found guilty of committing.
The podcast host told <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/roseanne-barr" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Roseanne Barr</a> how audiences were “manipulated” into believing Avery was innocent because “Making a Murderer” filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos “didn’t give you enough facts.”
Owens mentioned how not only does Avery have superfans and romantic interests as a result of the Netflix documentary, but also the family of murder victim Teresa Halbach have been “harassed” following its release. 
The Netflix series created a national obsession with the case and did so without presenting a lot of the key details, which is why Owens felt compelled to expose those truths in “Convicting a Murderer.”

Barr’s co-host and producer Jake Pentland said he was a “huge Steven Avery fan” and believed he and his nephew Brendan Dassey were wrongly convicted and “railroaded” because they were low-income. He watched several episodes of “CAM” and said what the series exposed has caused him to question everything he thought he knew.
“It’s brilliant. I mean, I’m rethinking everything,” Pentland told Owens of the series. 
“Netflix is a big old brainwasher,” Barr agreed. 
Barr’s producer isn’t the only one loving “Convicting a Murderer.” The series has a 92% audience rating on <a href="https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/convicting_a_murderer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rotten Tomatoes</a> and despite not being reviewed by any mainstream media outlets, it’s also been trending on the site.
“It is mind boggling how Netflix got away with making millions of dollars lying about Steven Avery,” one viewer wrote. “One episode is all I needed to see, (I have seen the first 3) to know this man is pure evil and guilty! Thank you [Candace Owens] for always digging deep to reveal the TRUTH!!”
