The Democratic Socialists of America are raising money to send members to Cuba so they can learn how to &#8220;dismantle [the] U.S. empire.&#8221;
The group set up the “Venceremos Fund,” named after a slogan popularized by Fidel Castro that translates to “We will overcome,” to raise money for the trips. The DSA has sent two <a href="https://www.dsausa.org/news/oct2025_npc_newsletter/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">delegations</a> to learn about what the organization calls “the achievements and challenges of Cuban socialism.”

According to the DSA, two delegations have already traveled to Cuba, including one this past October that included about 40 chapter leaders and rank-and-file members.
During the five-day visit, delegates met with <a href="https://reformandrevolution.org/2024/02/17/cuba-between-imperialism-and-socialism/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">leaders</a> of Cuba&#8217;s Communist Party, learning how the country&#8217;s one-party government drafts legislation, selects representatives, and conducts its parliamentary proceedings.
The DSA says the trips are designed to counter what it describes as American misinformation about Cuba.
&#8220;One of the most powerful ways to counter U.S. propaganda about Cuba is to see the country firsthand,&#8221; the organization said. &#8220;These delegations are crucial in dispelling misinformation, strengthening our movement, and equipping participants with the knowledge to advocate for change back home.&#8221;

After returning to the United States, participants hosted a webinar to share what they learned after meeting with Cuban workers, students, and officials about &#8220;the challenges and achievements of Cuban socialism under the U.S. blockade.&#8221; 
The DSA also <a href="https://international.dsausa.org/cuba-solidarity/our-work/">advocates</a> removing Cuba from the U.S. State Sponsors of Terrorism list, ending travel and trade restrictions, building relationships between American and Cuban labor unions, and sending humanitarian aid to the island.
The organization&#8217;s outreach to Cuba is not new. A DSA delegation also traveled there in 2023, where members reportedly held a <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20251016213647/https://through.blog/2023/11/09/cuba-diaries/">two-hour private meeting</a> with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel.
One delegate, Maria Franzblau, acknowledged Cuba&#8217;s food, medicine, and fuel shortages but argued those problems should be viewed in the context of being located &#8220;90 miles away from the most powerful capitalist empire in the world.&#8221;
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has argued that Cuba&#8217;s outreach to American leftists, including Hasan Piker, reflects a strategy dating back to Castro, whom Rubio said sought to wage a &#8220;much wider and bigger war&#8221; against the United States following the Cuban Revolution.
&#8220;Cuba matters to us because it&#8217;s 90 miles from our shores, and it has a direct impact on our national security — be it the things they&#8217;ve been involved in in the past, the countries they&#8217;ve aligned with in the past and currently,&#8221; he <a href="https://ebs.publicnow.com/view/46CC64098F83F68730FDCA078DD654308FF8741B?utm_source=chatgpt.com">said</a>.
The State Department has similarly <a href="https://www.aol.ca/articles/front-groups-fellow-travelers-state-225046000.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com">argued</a> that many far-Left activists are not directly controlled by Cuba, but support for the communist regime has become &#8220;de facto policy orthodoxy&#8221; among parts of the American Left.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered a straightforward <a href="https://x.com/StateDept/status/2079908555969245667">warning</a> on Wednesday about efforts to push communist influence inside the United States.
“The United States doesn’t want to be a communist country,” he said. “We’re never going to be a communist country. We’re not going to allow communist influences to undermine our politics or our society.”
“Our system doesn’t want communism,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;And we’re certainly not gonna allow communist efforts to undermine American society and drive wedges into our country.”
Rubio identified the Cuban regime as one of the leading forces behind these kinds of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rubio-reveals-how-cuba-is-trying-to-undermine-america">operations</a> in the hemisphere. He tied the comments to a recent intelligence report from the administration.
Rubio also stressed that while the United States interacts with different governments and systems around the world, there is a clear boundary when it comes to protecting American institutions and society from communist subversion.
His comments on Wednesday come shortly after the Secretary of State delivered a major international <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rubio-levels-the-left-pledges-to-crush-global-marxist-terror-networks-in-historic-address?author=Hank+Berrien&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Rubio+Levels+The+Left%2C+Pledges+To+Crush+Global+Marxist+Terror+Networks+In+Historic+Address">address</a> focused on the threat of far-Left militant networks. In that speech to delegates from more than 60 nations, Rubio described the militant networks as being driven by a deep hatred for civilization itself and laid out how America aimed at confronting them. Those steps include offering bounties to disrupt their financing and officially designating several violent far-Left groups as &#8220;Foreign Terrorist Organizations.&#8221;
Rubio called for dismantling these networks brick by brick. He reviewed the history of earlier movements that followed similar ideologies. He referenced groups such as the Tupamaros and the Montoneros in Latin America, the Shining Path in Peru, the Red Brigades in Italy, the Red Army Faction in Germany, and the Weather Underground in the United States. He also pointed to current trends showing far-Left violence increasing in several European countries. Rubio noted that such violence has risen more than 40% in Germany and makes up over 80% of radical violence in Greece.
Rubio outlined the administration&#8217;s responses to the issue, which include both domestic vigilance against influence operations and international coordination against violent extremist networks.

One of the biggest problems with being a socialist is that you have to pretend to be poor while stealing everyone else&#8217;s money for yourself. Call it the Coco Chanel Commie problem, and it&#8217;s spreading.
This manifested last week when the far-Left, socialist French politician, Louis Boyard, was <a href="https://x.com/realMaalouf/status/2078162460561846766">caught</a> on camera taking off a watch, which people speculate is a high-end Rolex, before his interview during which he lambasts the ultra-rich and the system that benefits them.
How parfait.
If the watch is the $50,000 unit the internet says it is, then Boyard would join the long list of champagne socialists, millionaire Marxists, gauche caviar hypocrites who are becoming increasingly loud and luxurious. Right behind Ségolène Royal, the Socialist Party&#8217;s former presidential candidate, who owned multiple luxury properties and was accused of avoiding the Impôt de Solidarité sur la Fortune (ISF), France&#8217;s wealth tax at the time.
Their policies will starve you dry, but they&#8217;ll sure as heck live in opulence as they sell you their poison.
At 25 years old, the French MP is already in the top 5-10% of earners in his country, yet that doesn&#8217;t stop him from criticizing capitalism&#8217;s success, defending the welfare state, emphasizing wealth redistribution through higher taxes, and despising the moderate Left of French politics. He&#8217;s a DSA junkie, here to destroy France from within, just like the DSA activists in America are trying to do. But like those on the Titanic, at least he&#8217;ll be dressed nice as the ship goes down. And he knows exactly how to work a crowd.
The social media savvy politician, boasting a whopping 531,000 followers on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/boyardlouis/?hl=en">Instagram</a> alone, abides by the same playbook as socialist social media influencers and politicians in the United States. Promise free things and easier living to an aggrieved youth class, convince them that socialists alone can solve all of their problems, and if they&#8217;ll only relinquish their rights, securities, and property, they&#8217;ll be rewarded with goodness and equality. (Spoiler alert: the goodness and equality and rainbows and butterflies never come.)
Boyard isn&#8217;t a one-off. He&#8217;s just the latest face on a very old grift, and America has plenty of its own.
He&#8217;s eerily similar to our least favorite anchor baby turned tyrant, Hasan Piker, who has called for the death of capitalists, conservative lawmakers, and American greatness generally. Piker was flogged online recently after he jetted off to Cuba <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-pied-piker-is-leading-all-the-anti-american-vermin">(potentially in violation of American law, mind you) </a>donning a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cocaine-with-the-castros">$690 silk button-down, $1,380 Cartier glasses, and $4,000</a> luxury rings while <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-cuban-operative-accused-of-aiding-hasan-piker-posed-as-tourist-before-overstaying-visa">partying</a> it up in the Marxist nation that endures frequent blackouts in its capital city for 90% of its residents.
The DSA prolocutor who&#8217;s in favor of taxing you for everything you&#8217;ve got, seizing private property, abolishing current American institutions, and expanding the welfare apparatus indefinitely is worth a shiny $8 million, owns a multi-million dollar home in West Hollywood and a Porsche Taycan, thanks in large part to his rewarding career as a Twitch streamer. This is where he secretes straight sunshine and wisdom to the masses, perched atop his spinny chair. One such piece of wisdom: &#8220;I&#8217;d rather be a rich socialist than a broke boy defending capitalism.&#8221; From his mouth to the devil&#8217;s ears.
His boyfriend, and New York&#8217;s terrifying step-dad, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/the-ben-shapiro-show-episode-2452?row=0&amp;elementPosition=7&amp;rowType=Web+Search+Overlay">Mayor Zohran Mamdani</a>, has the same issue, faces the same moral dilemma (which neither of them seems too pressed to solve), where they preach policies that make life more unaffordable for Americans, dressed up in pretty packaging, while profiting from the systems they deride. Mayor Marxist has a higher <a href="https://x.com/patrickbetdavid/status/2077032024347398148">salary</a> at $258,750 a year than Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, Scott Bessent, and JD Vance, and members of his city council just voted to approve a pay raise for themselves and higher officials. To pay for Mrs. Mamdani&#8217;s vintage Balenciaga coat and $630 Miista boots, of course. This collective is feeling suffocatingly warm, isn&#8217;t it?
But this isn&#8217;t just tacky. It&#8217;s the same grift that ends in bread lines every single time.
Take Fidel Castro or Hugo Chavez, communist dictators who got rich selling the same promises Boyard, Piker, and Mamdani are selling now. Castro&#8217;s personal wealth is estimated to have peaked at $<a href="https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-politicians/presidents/fidel-castro-net-worth/">900</a> million in 2006. Chavez died worth an estimated $4 <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/world/hugo-chavez-daughter-is-the-richest-individual-in-venezuela-report-claims">billion</a>, unable to hear the cries of his starving, suffering citizens from the porch of his mansion, the leather seats of his Mercedes, or over the sound of his high-end helicopters. Sound familiar?
Why would people put such egotistical strongmen in office in the first place? Well, because they claimed to help the poor, fight corruption, and reduce inequality. They promised to redistribute wealth and land, expand social programs to make everything universal and free, and increase state control over industries like oil.
And then once in power, the masks fell.
Will we ever learn these evergreen lessons: That those promising us pies in the sky on the condition that we surrender our freedoms probably don&#8217;t have our best interests at heart? That these new socialists aren&#8217;t magically absolved of corruption, and immune to greed?
Of course, many politicians and activists will be enticed by power and hungry for more, but at least the capitalists are proponents of a system that makes everyone money, lifts the most humans out of poverty, and is the most effective economic mechanism the world has yet to create. While socialists are the sweetest talkers, their end goal of communism — a classless, moneyless, stateless society in which everyone farts flowers and poops rainbows — will do what it&#8217;s done for all of time, and leave you high and dry before you can ever reach such utopia. Meanwhile, real people stand in real bread lines while their leaders count offshore accounts.
Or we can continue to elect the likes of Chef Boyard(ee), as he sells destruction and cooks up corruption, wearing a Rolex.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio&#8217;s State Department released a sweeping <a href="https://www.state.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Cuba-Report.pdf">99-page report</a> on Monday portraying communist Cuba as the Western Hemisphere&#8217;s foremost engine of Marxist subversion, arguing that the island nation has spent decades cultivating revolutionary movements inside the United States and across the globe.
The report, released alongside a statement from the State Department, casts the Castro regime not simply as a geopolitical adversary, but as the ideological nucleus of what it describes as the modern radical Left. 
&#8220;For more than six decades, the Cuban regime has been the leading sponsor of radical leftism and Third Worldism in the United States,&#8221; Rubio wrote on <a href="https://x.com/SecRubio/status/2079190191160348777">X</a>. &#8220;The State Department is exposing the full history of Cuban espionage and subversion in our country. The American people deserve to know.&#8221;
The document, which reflects a longstanding priority of Rubio&#8217;s foreign policy agenda, argues that Cuba&#8217;s greatest success has not been military or economic, but ideological. &#8220;For nearly seven decades, the Cuban regime has waged a sustained campaign of subversion against the United States,&#8221; the report states. &#8220;It is a campaign that has infiltrated the highest reaches of the U.S. government, recruited and cultivated generations of American activists, backed an unprecedented wave of Left-wing terrorism on American soil, and carried out one of the most durable and damaging foreign intelligence penetrations in American history.&#8221;
According to the report, Havana developed an unconventional strategy centered on espionage, infiltration, proxy networks, and ideological influence rather than conventional warfare. &#8220;In contrast to every other aspect of Cuba&#8217;s failed state, this model has yielded remarkable success,&#8221; the report says.
The report alleges that Cuba trained and armed Left-wing guerrilla groups around the world, provided sanctuary to American fugitives convicted of terrorism, and successfully infiltrated senior levels of the U.S. government, including the State Department, Pentagon, and National Security Council.
Much of the document focuses on what it calls Cuba&#8217;s enduring influence over modern Left-wing activism in the United States.
The report claims Havana helped shape and support organizations ranging from the Black Panthers and the Weather Underground during the Cold War to more recent movements including Antifa. It further alleges that Cuban influence continues today through &#8220;leftist nonprofits, anti-ICE collectives, socialist groups, and Marxist militant organizations.&#8221;
&#8220;From its earliest years in power, the Cuban regime has believed that its own survival and strategic interests were inextricably linked to the advance of the revolutionary Left inside the United States,&#8221; the report argues. &#8220;The Cubans have always seen revolution in America as an end unto itself.&#8221;
Rather than characterizing Cuba as merely a Soviet satellite, the report argues the Castro regime developed its own distinct form of Marxism centered less on class struggle than anti-Western and anti-American revolutionary ideology.
&#8220;While the collapse of the Soviet Union &#8230; largely rendered the Soviet model of communism extinct, the Cuban Marxist project not only survived, but thrived,&#8221; the report states. &#8220;By the turn of the twenty-first century, Havana had solidified its place as the ideological capital of the modern radical left.&#8221;
The report also links Cuba to several of America&#8217;s most recent episodes of civil unrest. It argues that &#8220;many of the most significant upheavals in recent American political history — from the George Floyd riots to the rise of Antifa to the explosion of pro-terrorist activism on American college campuses — can be linked, in some way, shape, or form, to Cuban influence.&#8221;
The report further warns that Cuba remains an active intelligence threat, alleging the regime maintains networks inside American institutions while simultaneously serving as a staging ground for Russian, Chinese, and Iranian intelligence operations.
The report concludes by arguing that Cuba&#8217;s strategy has always been to undermine America from within rather than confront it directly. &#8220;The regime&#8217;s method was never primarily premised on kinetic warfare,&#8221; the report states. &#8220;It was subtler, and far more dangerous: to attack the United States not from without but from within — to turn Americans into instruments of their own nation&#8217;s undoing.&#8221;
The publication comes as the Trump administration has significantly increased pressure on Havana through sanctions, diplomatic measures, and renewed scrutiny of the communist government&#8217;s ties to hostile foreign powers. Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants, has long been one of Washington&#8217;s most outspoken critics of the Castro regime and has repeatedly argued that the United States has underestimated Cuba&#8217;s role in exporting revolutionary ideology throughout the Americas.

Rubio Reveals How Cuba Is Trying To Undermine America

Recent high-profile electoral successes have thrust the <a href="https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/democratic-socialists-of-america/">Democratic Socialists of America</a> (DSA) back into the national spotlight, but public understanding of the group’s far-left worldview lags considerably behind the understanding of its political influence. It is crucial for Americans to appreciate that the DSA has become a deeply radical organization, with a membership whose politics increasingly roll right off the leftmost edge of the ideological spectrum.
In its newly updated <a href="https://program.dsausa.org/">platform</a>, the DSA calls for (among many other things) the wholesale abolition of capitalism — to be replaced by a centrally planned “classless society” wherein government monopolizes socioeconomic life. It seeks to abolish police, prisons, and immigration enforcement, defund the U.S. military, eliminate the Senate, and remove federal checks-and-balances by making the executive and judicial branches explicitly subordinate to the legislative.
The DSA is organized as a 501(c)(4) nonprofit — not a political party — and it is overwhelmingly funded through membership dues. These accounted for over 87 percent of its total revenue of $6.38 million in <a href="https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/133109557/202503209349302100/full">2024</a> — a budget that is quite modest by national political activist groups’ standards. It also maintains a much smaller 501(c)(3) charitable affiliate called the <a href="https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/democratic-socialists-of-america-fund/">Democratic Socialists of America Fund</a>, which raised just $399,886 <a href="https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/132893010/202523219349314232/full">that year</a>. On a dollar-for-dollar basis, it is hard to point to a group that currently commands more attention in Democratic Party politics than the DSA.
This was not always the case. Most of the group’s current influence can be traced to growth that began in earnest following the 2016 election cycle. This increase in membership has been accompanied by <a href="https://capitalresearch.org/article/communism-and-the-democratic-socialists-of-america/">steady</a> political <a href="https://capitalresearch.org/article/the-left-of-the-left-part-2/">radicalization</a>, to the point where the DSA may now be considered an organ of the revolutionary far-left — one which has found common cause with Marxist-Leninist one-party states such as <a href="https://international.dsausa.org/no-cold-war/">China</a> and <a href="https://international.dsausa.org/statements/dsa-condemns-all-acts-of-aggression-against-the-republic-of-cuba-by-the-united-states/">Cuba</a>, and <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20250209141530/https:/www.dsausa.org/dsa-political-platform-from-2021-convention/">attacked</a> the United States as “the heart of a global capitalist empire that has wrought untold suffering on billions of people and the environment.”
The DSA’s hostility towards Israel is also notoriously virulent, something which infamously manifested itself through declarations of Palestinian solidarity and <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20231019142455/https:/twitter.com/dsa_intl_comm/status/1710794431694295423">cries</a> of “long live the resistance!” during the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led terrorist attacks, which the group <a href="https://www.dsausa.org/statements/end-the-violence-end-the-occupation-free-palestine/">blamed</a> on the Israeli victims. A <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uVRuqCw1UKgNmurmCWvswerswEHHmkJ4UyXo8zvCVaM/edit?tab=t.1434oz5dc0io">resolution</a> approved at the DSA’s 2025 national convention went so far as to make opposition to “the Palestinian cause” — including by uttering the phrase “Israel has a right to defend itself” — an expellable offense.
At that same convention, the DSA elected a new National Political Committee. The ideological affiliations of these committee members illustrate the <a href="https://capitalresearch.org/article/communism-and-the-democratic-socialists-of-america/">influence</a> that full-blown revolutionary communism holds over the group’s internal politics. Several committee members (including one of its two co-chairs) are members of the DSA’s <a href="https://redstarcaucus.org/points-of-unity/">Red Star</a> caucus, an association of Marxist-Leninists that aims to foster a revolutionary vanguard “to abolish capitalism and, ultimately, to achieve communism.”
Others were elected from the <a href="https://www.marxistunity.com/">Marxist Unity Group</a>, whose objective is to “fight to overthrow the Constitution” so that the revolutionary working class can “take power by any means necessary” and institute “a fully liberated classless society: communism.”
Yet another caucus with multiple National Political Committee members is <a href="https://reformandrevolution.org/">Reform &amp; Revolution</a>, which characterizes its “revolutionary Marxist” politics as being derived from “the Bolshevik Tradition.&#8221; All told, the DSA’s internal political “Left” — which is more-or-less tantamount to revolutionary communism — now wields <a href="https://internationalviewpoint.org/DSA-s-2025-National-Convention-A-New-Chapter-Opens-Up-for-the-Socialist">major influence</a> over the organization’s leadership.
This is far from the vision of the DSA’s founding ideological lodestar, <a href="https://www.influencewatch.org/person/michael-harrington/">Michael Harrington</a>, who died in 1989. Though a dedicated left-wing socialist, Harrington was also fully committed to democracy and explicitly rejected communist totalitarianism. He was said to have been deeply troubled by the Port Huron Statement released by <a href="https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/students-for-a-democratic-society-sds/">Students for a Democratic Society</a> in 1962, because he felt the language used was insufficiently anti-communist. Harrington was also avowedly <a href="https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/history/articles/when-americas-democratic-socialists-proudly-supported-israel">pro-Israel</a>. Though the DSA still trades on the once-accurate descriptors of its Harrington-era name, “Democratic Socialists of America” might today be more akin to a Holy Roman Empire-style misnomer, in the sense that the group is neither particularly democratic, nor socialist, nor American.
The American radical left has traditionally demonstrated a propensity for factional infighting, self-marginalization, and organizational implosion. Perhaps this will ultimately be the fate of the DSA in its current iteration. Something of a boom-and-bust cycle has characterized the group’s fortunes over the past decade — it was scarcely two years ago that the DSA appeared on the verge of an <a href="https://capitalresearch.org/article/turmoil-at-the-democratic-socialists-of-america/">existential fiscal crisis</a> brought on by a combination of declining membership and profligate spending. Today, it <a href="https://x.com/DemSocialists/status/2073858007017164832">claims</a> over 120,000 members and appears to be riding higher than ever. Four House Democrats — Reps. Mark Pocan (D-WI), Teresa Leger Fernández (D-NM), Maxine Dexter (D-OR), and Delia Ramírez (D-IL) — spent four days in Cuba meeting with communist President Miguel Díaz-Canel, government ministers, medical officials, business leaders, and other groups before concluding that President Donald Trump&#8217;s energy sanctions had transformed the island into what they described as a &#8220;silent Gaza.&#8221;
The congressional delegation made the trip after the Trump administration imposed a de facto fuel embargo on Cuba earlier this year following the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, tightening pressure on Havana by threatening penalties against countries that continue supplying fuel to the island.
<a href="https://apnews.com/article/cuba-embargo-congress-pocan-legerfernandez-dexter-ramirez-e369a23097dcf104d424af88cdc2134a">Speaking to reporters</a> after the trip, Pocan said someone he met in Cuba described the island as a &#8220;silent Gaza” — a comparison he said was &#8220;apt.&#8221; 
&#8220;There may not be bombings, but there are certainly conditions that prevent people from going about their daily lives,&#8221; Pocan said. &#8220;They can&#8217;t go to work, they can&#8217;t preserve their food, they can&#8217;t access medical supplies, or live as they did before.&#8221; The comparison comes as left-wing lawmakers have repeatedly invoked Gaza in debates over seemingly unrelated domestic and foreign policy issues.
The delegation also directed criticism at Secretary of State Marco Rubio, whose family fled communist Cuba. &#8220;I think Marco Rubio is making this personal and not professional,&#8221; Pocan said. 
Ramírez went considerably further, accusing the United States of pursuing &#8220;60-year-long imperialistic policies&#8221; against Cuba and blaming Trump and Rubio for worsening what she called a humanitarian crisis.
&#8220;Plain and simple, our 60-year-long imperialistic policies, including an immoral, inexcusable, cruel blockade, have contributed to the dire conditions facing Cubans who yearn to be free,&#8221; Ramírez said in a <a href="https://ramirez.house.gov/media/press-releases/ramirez-statement-oversight-visit-cuba-and-humanitarian-crisis-island">statement</a> released after returning from Havana.
She also claimed Trump was advancing a &#8220;white nationalist agenda&#8221; through his immigration policies and argued the United States must end the blockade, end the sanctions, and dismantle policies she said violate international law.
In a joint <a href="https://pocan.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/reps-pocan-dexter-leger-fernandez-and-ramirez-return-cuba-fact-finding">statement</a>, the four lawmakers claimed the Trump administration&#8217;s policies were &#8220;strangling&#8221; Cuba and warned that sanctions were &#8220;killing everyday Cuban citizens.&#8221;
Dexter, a physician, praised Cuba&#8217;s government-run healthcare system, saying, &#8220;Cuba created a free, universal healthcare system that millions of Cubans and others around the world have come to expect and depend on.&#8221;
Léger Fernández likewise condemned U.S. policy, saying, &#8220;What the United States is doing to this island is a siege.&#8221; 
Cuba&#8217;s communist government quickly embraced the Democrats&#8217; comments.
Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla celebrated the delegation on <a href="https://x.com/BrunoRguezP/status/2077046192857350539">X</a>, writing that the lawmakers had confirmed through &#8220;firsthand exchanges&#8221; the &#8220;collective punishment&#8221; imposed by the United States and the &#8220;inhuman impact&#8221; of what he called a &#8220;genocidal policy designed in South Florida.&#8221; Rodríguez also promoted the slogan &#8220;Cuba is not a threat,” a phrase frequently used by the Cuban government in international campaigns against U.S. sanctions.
The Trump administration has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-targets-cubas-power-structure-in-sweeping-blow-to-communist-elites">defended</a> its Cuba policy as an effort to weaken the communist regime rather than to punish the Cuban people. The White House has argued that Havana&#8217;s decades of economic mismanagement, combined with authoritarian rule, bear primary responsibility for the island&#8217;s ongoing shortages and rolling blackouts.
Rubio, whose parents emigrated from Cuba before Fidel Castro consolidated power, has long supported maintaining pressure on the communist government and has argued that sanctions should remain in place until meaningful democratic reforms occur.

Former Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt didn’t hold back after New York City’s socialist mayor, Zohran Mamdani, trashed the United States during what was supposed to be a celebration honoring the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Taking to X, the fiery Republican launched a blistering counterattack against Mamdani, torching the leftist&#8217;s bleak depiction of the country and labeling him an anti-human Marxist bent on destroying American culture.
The fireworks erupted after Mamdani delivered a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mamdani-paints-sinister-picture-of-america-in-speech-honoring-250th-anniversary?author=Hank+Berrien&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=3&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Mamdani+Paints+Sinister+Picture+Of+America+In+Speech+Honoring+250th+Anniversary">deeply cynical address</a> on July 3. Instead of honoring the land of the free, the Big Apple’s Left-wing leader painted a dark, sinister portrait of America. Mamdani claimed the nation was fundamentally built on exploitation, bigotry, and prejudice, describing it as an &#8220;arena of supremacy&#8221; where wealthy oligarchs buy elections and corporate landlords abuse tenants.
In a radical rhetorical tirade, the socialist mayor went as far as slamming federal immigration enforcement, accusing ICE agents of terrorizing local neighborhoods and kidnapping undocumented immigrants in unmarked vans. Mamdani concluded his grim speech by redefining patriotism as nothing more than anti-government street protests and righteous dissent.
Pratt wasn&#8217;t having any of it. The former GOP candidate fiercely defended the country while ripping into Mamdani&#8217;s Marxist worldview. He started by warning of the Left’s obsession with rewriting history.
&#8220;We all had to sit and watch that vile commie mayor sit on the wrong side of our Founding Fathers&#8217; desk to try and lecture us about our own history,&#8221; Pratt said. &#8220;Notice how the communist always attacks your history. The communist must attack your history. Why? Because history is what anchors you.&#8221;
Pratt likened the nation to a family home, explaining that even the painful or messy historical memories anchor people to their roots and foster an unbreakable bond that true patriots will fight to protect:
&#8220;What makes your home special? It&#8217;s not the marble countertops or the expensive furniture or the fancy appliances,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;It&#8217;s the memories you have there. &#8216;That backyard is where we got married; that living room rug is where our son took his first step. Hey, don’t touch that; that was his first teddy bear.&#8217; It doesn’t matter how torn and tattered that thing is; you will never get rid of it. And you will fight anyone who tries to take it away.
He then outlined how the Left proceeds: &#8220;That&#8217;s what the communist always starts with: the bad memories. &#8216;Oh, we can get rid of that little story. We can knock down that statue. We can change the name of that street. That&#8217;s a bad memory from our history. You don&#8217;t want that memory hanging around. You&#8217;re not a   bigot, right?&#8217; And slowly but surely, this wall comes down. Then that wall gets sledgehammered.
Invoking Chairman Mao’s infamous destruction of traditional culture, Pratt declared that communism is an evil, anti-human religion that thrives on total demoralization. He passionately argued that loving America is a vital necessity, noting that the United States has consistently served as the world’s ultimate shield against global tyranny and madness. Pratt pointed out that American ingenuity has served as the cradle for world-changing innovations like airplanes, the internet, and space travel.
Turning his sights directly on the New York executive, Pratt concluded: &#8220;Commie Mamdani’s ancestors never bled for this country. He has no history here, so he has no attachment to our home. He has no place to rewrite our history and lecture us about what our country stands for. So celebrate today. Show some American pride. Honor your  history. Raise your flag. Raise a finger and say, &#8216;F*ck you, communists. This is our home and you can&#8217;t have it. Today we celebrate our Independence Day.&#8217;”

President Donald Trump said on Monday that newly launched Trump Accounts could be the remedy to a growing infatuation with communist ideals in America because they will teach children to have an &#8220;entrepreneurial&#8221; spirit.
Trump made the argument during an Oval Office event focused on the rollout of Trump Accounts, which funds qualifying investment accounts for American children with $1,000 from the Treasury. Trump Accounts officially launched on the Fourth of July.
“I think we’ve done a lot of great things but I think this will be one of the top. It’s going to teach children to be entrepreneurial as opposed to the threat of communism that you&#8217;re seeing. This is not social Democrats, by the way. They&#8217;re not social Democrats. They&#8217;re communists. They want to destroy our country — we&#8217;re not going to let that happen,” he said. 
He explained the accounts won’t only help the future generation, but also their parents. “But this helps even from the parent standpoint. They see their child getting richer and richer as the market goes up. &#8230; The parents are going to be watching, we are all going to be watching. We are part of a very big and very beautiful game. It’s going to bring them into the mainstream.&#8221;
A new poll from the Cato Institute revealed 53% of Gen Z, ages 18 to 29, have a favorable view of socialism, and 38% have a favorable view of communism. Forty percent of Millennials, ages 30 to 44, have a favorable view of socialism, and 29% have a favorable view of communism.

Trump Accounts bring those who are on the sidelines into the market by giving them a piece of ownership in equities. In America today, the top 1% of wealthiest Americans own about 50% of all equities while the bottom half of Americans own about 1% of U.S. equities. 
Through compound investing, this ownership gap only increases the wealth gap as those without ownership miss out on one of the primary drivers of long-term wealth creation. This dynamic can fuel support for socialist and communist ideals as asset owners are often better protected from inflation through appreciating investments, while those without assets only see their wages struggle to keep pace with rising prices.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also believes Trump Accounts directly combat young people&#8217;s growing fascination with socialism.
“Trump Accounts represent the triumph of capitalism over socialism. Through Trump Accounts, our president is creating an ownership economy where all citizens become shareholders in America’s wealth,&#8221; said Bessent. 
Based on White House estimates, a child born in 2026 may accumulate roughly $5,800 in the account by age 18 without any additional deposits. If parents and employers consistently contribute the $5,000 annual maximum contribution, the total could rise to approximately $303,800 over that same period. 
The $1,000 seed investment from the Treasury Department will be allocated across a broad mix of low-cost index funds, balancing growth potential with risk management. The seed investment was funded through Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” with the opportunity to expand eligibility for children born after 2029. 
While children born between 2025 and 2028 are the only ones available for the $1,000 deposit from the federal government, parents can still set up Trump Accounts for older children. Philanthropists are also using the investment vehicles to donate money directly to a cause. On Monday, President and COO of SpaceX Gwynne Shotwell <a href="https://x.com/Gwynne_Shotwell/status/2074064376810614926">gifted</a> two million children ages 11-17 who live in areas with lower average household incomes a share of her SpaceX stock.

He went on to blast communism and those who are trying to bring it to the United States, declaring that the U.S. will never be a communist country.

The high temp on Wednesday was 91 degrees, which can feel even hotter in the city. Temperatures are expected to hit around 100 degrees for the rest of the week.
&#8220;Our City is doing its part too: maintaining the 78 degrees rule in our buildings, dimming/turning off our lights during peak electricity demand, asking private partners to do the same, and powering down non-essential equipment,&#8221; the mayor added. &#8220;A stable grid means the AC stays on, and lives are saved. The Democratic socialist darling poised to represent New York&#8217;s 13th Congressional District reportedly had a since-deleted Twitter account that read like communist fan fiction.
Darializa Avila Chevalier, according to a new report from CNN, kept a Twitter account under the name &#8220;Darializabonet.&#8221; The bio under the name in 2020 read, &#8220;how communist of you,&#8221; and the entire account was apparently deleted in 2022.
The contents of the now-deleted account included complaints about the lack of available Marxist literature — particularly works by revolutionaries like Vladimir Lenin — and a recommendation that Karl Marx&#8217;s &#8220;Capital&#8221; was a &#8220;must-read.&#8221; She also retweeted a post from another communist account complaining that bookstores did not feature &#8220;The Complete Works of J. V. Stalin&#8221; in displays about books that had been &#8220;banned.&#8221;
The account also quoted convicted cop killer and Black Liberation Army member Assata Shakur, who escaped from prison and fled to Cuba to avoid a life sentence, on the idea that people should read communist revolutionaries of color — &#8220;Ho Chi Minh, Kim Il Sung, Che, or Fidel [Castro]&#8221; — before Lenin or Marx. The revolutionaries could not be ignored, she said, because of their contributions to the cause — but she disliked elevating them above their non-white counterparts.
Other posts she either commented on or retweeted shared similarly favorable views of communism and socialism — including one retweet of a post complaining that Americans objected to communism over seemingly trivial things like the number of available soup varieties at a grocery store.
